Hey, hi, and how are you? And welcome back. 401 is the time. Gwen and Chris. 97 through the fan. Good round of Chris's fantabulous sports game show for everybody but you, Scrabby. Yeah. Another defeat. I really thought you were going to do well in that category. So did I. I was convinced before you ended up going out super full winners. And but yeah, Tony is all over it once again. You know, he doesn't even miss one. No, I know. I know. It's very crazy. Quite annoying. We've sent Tony off into exile now to go get ready for the game tonight because he dominated the fantabulous sports game show. Our guy Sam Levitt with an interesting note to kick off the four o'clock hour. What did Sammy Levitt have to say? Sammy will have the pregame show 90 minutes from now. Sammy says among batters with at least 40 played appearances in the month of June, here are the slugging percentage leaders in Major League Baseball. First, Aaron Judge 821. Second, Royce Lewis of the twins 797. Third, Yordan Alvarez of the Astro 750. Fourth, Kyle Higashyoka of the Padres 730. I got to say ever since you attacked him on air, attacked him ever since you said was that he needed to contribute. You built a fire under him because he has been incredible since then. He got shokas been on fire. Nicely done, Kyle. He'll be in the lineup tonight. He has will, you know, the rest of the group taken on Mackenzie Gorn company, a rise pro for Machado corner north Solano, Merrill Kim, Higashyoka, Bryce Johnson gets the second consecutive start against the lefty for the gnats. All right, we get ready to get into a little Chris versus the fans. Absolutely, I'm ready. All right, Chris already took on the callers earlier, unintentionally. Now I'll take on the fans. If you had one shot, one opportunity to take down the human all manack himself, how would he do? Now is your time. Listen to me, this guy, stages. Now is your opportunity to win a prize. Well, I hope you know what Jen for Chris versus the fans starts now on 97 three, the fan. Kind of need to turn on the microphones. You are going to be playing for two prizes today. Chris's wife is going with the winner from yesterday. She's not aware of that. She's not. No, she's not been letting on that. The rules, you have to make it through three questions. Each question will get more difficult. If you get the question right, you move on. If you get it wrong and Chris gets it right, you're eliminated. But if Chris gets it wrong, then you move on to the next question or you win. If you're a first time player, let us know before the first question. You get the first question for free. All right. Here we go. Let me get my call screener up and we're going to go to Lucas in power. Hello, Lucas. Hey guys, how you doing? Pretty good. Are you ready to play? Ready as I'll ever be. All right, here we go. All right. Who leads Major League Baseball in steals right now? Steels, steals stolen bases. It's against the laws. Not in baseball. Not in baseball, stolen bases. This is stolen base leader in the big leagues. Let's go Corbin Carroll. Corbin Carroll. He wishes having a rough go of it this year. The only reason I asked this stealing a few bases, but not much. The only reason asked this is a question. Number one is that he's been the bona fide leader all year long. I would say it's Ellie Della Cruz of the Reds. Sorry about that, Lucas. Yeah, Ellie Della Cruz got to buy a pretty wide margin. He has 37 recently played the Padres. Brace Terrain has 26. So an 11 steel lead. Yes, there was some talk about Ellie Della Cruz getting 100 this year. That's not going to slow down quite a bit. I mean, it does have 36 and we're not even at the all-star break. We're pretty much halfway through and he'd have to actually pick up the pace, which is normally goes the other way around on stolen bases usually get less as the season goes along. Yes, correct. All right, let's go to our next contestant, Emilio. How are you Emilio? Hi, Emilio. I'm doing well getting ready to go to the game. Awesome. Good for you. Enjoy the game tonight. Yeah, get that Haas on Kim Bobblehead, get there early enough. And here's question number one. Maybe I'll run into you tonight, Emilio, which would you know that. Oh, Chris is going to the game. Everybody will stop what they're doing and realize that Chris will be at Petco Park going to the game tonight, baby. And if you see Chris, just yell. Oh, whoa. Just for me. That's all. All right. Really. Here we go, Emilio. What NBA rookie won Rookie of the Year this past season. Hmm. It seems like if there's a rookie, they'd have to be a rookie to win Rookie of the Year. Thank you, Chris. Is that what you said? Yes. What rookie won Rookie of the Year in the NBA this month? Yeah, I'm going to go with, I don't know. I don't want that as well, though. I thought this trick doesn't know all though. I think you better hope. This might not be a question. Number one, to be honest. It's a question. He was such a big deal. I mean, he ran into Wendy. Yes. Victor, when by Yama, Britney Spears attacked him one day. She did. Sorry about that, Emilio. Call back and make it to get people mad at me if I say Britney's a little out there. Probably some Britney Spears supporters may call in. I don't know. There's any left, Chris. I don't know if he's losing faith quickly. All right. Let's go to our next contestant. It's our guy. Hiliberto. Oh, we need a little Hilberto. Oh, I'm actually, I told Chris the other day, Hilberto, that I've been watching Narcos in Spanish so that I could try to understand it. And I'm doing okay. Do you really are you watching it in Spanish? Watch that that that that's total opposite from reality. Oh, well, I understand. I'm just trying to understand the words. He says he's watching it. Just trying to learn the language. Yes. Yes. I'm trying to learn the language. Okay, because do a lingo when I use them, I say it says, like, well, I'm on Zana. Never mind. Let's go. I'm going to tell a story about some satellite that got shot up in the sky. No, let's go for it. I don't know where I'm going. Yes. What are you saying? Yeah, I'm talking about playing the game. I wasn't getting that night. I wasn't getting that night. It was incredible. And one thing that happened, I don't get when people leave when it's late in the game and the Padres are tied or down. Nobody left this night because of fireworks. And I do believe that having more than 80% of the fans last night made a difference in that bottom of the 10th inning. He was electric guys. It was sounded terrific on the on a telecast. That's a really, it's a really interesting point that I didn't realize that they had fireworks last night. And that's why people stayed I might have helped them win that game because otherwise I could see like 75% of the people leaving in the 10th inning. I'm telling you, I saw the home run. I turned it off. I went upstairs, I brushed my teeth to check my phone. I'm like, wait a second. They're only down one run now. What is happening? Good point. He'll bear. Very good. All right, here we go. Question number one. What team did Jose Conseco spend most of his career with? With the Portland triple eight. Yes, that is correct. It's a triple A is then man here. They're pretty good back in that day. All right. Oh, I remember 88. I remember 88. Oh, 88 man. Conseco was a 41st member of the 40 40 club. Really? Yeah, he was the first one. He was. And when he did it, Willie Mayes came out and said, Oh, if I knew 40 40 was such a big deal, I would have done it every year. Huh? Willie didn't really, he didn't really care about it. So he didn't do it. But I'm sure he could have. Go ahead. All right. Here we go. Question number two. This is a perfect question. Number two for Hillbarrato. Which 90s Atlanta brave pitcher was also drafted by the Los Angeles Kings. I didn't get the question. Oh, is this good for Hillbarr? I feel like he'll know it. Oh, he knows his LA stuff. Yeah, which 90s. I didn't get it. Okay, here we go. Are you can you hear me? Yes. Okay, which 90s Atlanta brave pitcher was also drafted by the Los Angeles Kings. Oh, my God. 90s brave pitcher. You've got to be Avery, Steve Avery, Steve Avery Avery. Stay there. That costo berto too much knowledge of the 90s Braves. Never even heard of Steve Avery. The only ones anybody else knows are Maddox, Smolch, and Glavin. And I happen to know that Glavin is a major hockey guy. So I'm gonna go Glavin. Yeah, sorry, Hillbarrato. Yeah, Glavin was a big hockey player. I don't know where he's from, but he's a big hockey player was a big hockey player. All right, we still love you, Hillbarrato. Yes, we do. All right, let's get to our next contestant and we'll go to Greg in San Diego. Greg, how are you? I'm good. Hello, guys. Hello. Hello. Here we go, Greg. I'm going to go to question number one. There are 12 players. Hold on, 12. There are at least 10 players hitting over 300 coming into today. Two of them are Padres. Name both of those that are hitting over 300 on the Padres. That's amazing. All right, and go apart. Nice job, Greg. Hey, go, Greg. That's been. You even decoded my question. Here we go. Question number two. Sometimes the hardest part. Yes. What state is Jackson Merrill from? Like, if you go to his MLB.com page, what state would it list? Home state. Home state, Jackson Merrill. Wow. I go California, California, California. He does seem like a Cali kid. Nope. My turn? Yes. Baltimore, Maryland. Maryland. Okay. Sorry, Baltimore. I don't know how you know that. Well, I know, sorry about that guy, man. He is a Jackson Merrill is actually from Severna Park, Maryland. Oh, well, sorry about that. I didn't know. I almost buzzed you for that. What is that? Severna Park, Maryland. I have no idea. Here we go. Let's go to our next contestant. We're going to go to Gavin. Hello, Gavin. What's up, guys? Hey, Gavin. Good luck to you. Here we go. Let's get into question number one. I know Gavin's played before. All right, Gavin. I'm going to give you those three names. You're going to tell me which team they played for. C.C. Sebastian, Tony Gwyn, Jr. Prince Fielder. Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers is correct. Gavin, nicely done. There's some nice names on that team that Tony was on with. Yeah, Tony and Prince. I think they were in the post season. They were. Tony was there. All right. Here we go. Question number two, Gavin. What team did Vladimir Guerrero, Sr. finish his career with? Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore Orioles is correct. Nicely done. That is very good. No hesitation. I would have had no idea. I would have said the Boston Red Sox for some reason. I don't even know if that would have been correct. Yeah, I don't. I mean, not correct, but I don't know if you ever played for them. I don't know. I don't. I don't remember him on that list. I never got him on the Orioles. All right, Gavin. My gosh. These guys are good. These players. Gavin, here we go. Third and final question. Next time. Take it. Two AL East players and one NL East player lead baseball in walks again. I'm giving you hints. That's what I'm saying it this way. Two AL East players in one NL East player leads baseball in walks. Name all three. All three. That's a three point question, bro. I want Soto. That's easy. That's easy. Number two. Good question. I don't know. Let's just go with Kyle Swarler. And then I'll go Gunnar Henderson. Gunnar Henderson. All right. Stay there. I love Gunnar. Stay there, Gavin. All right. I had three names. That popped into your head. I did. Aaron Judge. Carl Swarber. Carl. Carl. Who's Carl Swarber and Juan Soto? I hate it because Gavin was so close. Great playing, Gavin. Great playing, Gavin. Who did he say was his third? I can't remember. Gunnar. Gunnar. That's right. The gun man. The gun man swings a bat too much. Thanks, Gavin. That was a good plan. All right. We're going to tiebreaker tiebreaker. You got to come up with a, you know what we're going to do? You know how it doesn't lead the major leagues in walks? What? Excuse me. Our guy. Soto? No, Luis Arise. Oh, he has a walk much, does he? No. Okay. The working times. So far with the Padres or? No, I see here. Oh, man. Yeah. All right. We're going to do Jerkson Profar. As our guy. As our guy today. All right. Jerkson. Zach says Carl Swarber is my favorite player. Carl Swarber. I'll tell you one thing. I wish the Padres could face Carl Swarber because this Kyle Swarber guy seems to hit them pretty good. It's pretty good. All right. Let's get to our next contestant. We're going to go to Mike. Mike, you are on. We're going to do a tiebreaker. So here's how it works. I'm going to give Chris a, or I'm asked Chris question, he's going to guess a number and you're going to guess whether the actual number is higher or lower than what Chris guessed. Okay. Okay. I'm actually Reese though. Okay. And I'm a first time player. Okay. Save that for next time, Reese, but you're still on this time. Yes, you're still on. But next time you can use that first time play a card. Do you have a parent with you though, Reese? Yes. I am in the car within as well. Perfect. That's all we need to actually win the prize. But Chris, how many home runs does Jerrickson profile have in his career 11th season? Yeah. I know he had a high market 20, but he's been lower than that. Quite a bit lower. I'm going to say he's got 125 home runs right now. 125 home runs. Reese is the actual answer higher or lower? Lower. Lower says Reese. Reese is correct. A winner. Nice job, Reese. You stay right there. Stay there, Reese. We're going to give you some prizes. Get some stuff. I like you when young young people play the game. I do too. What was the answer? You were way over. 97 was the actual answer. I thought you meant how many is he going to have at the end of the season? No. Yes. 128 more. Yeah. No, I thought, you know, Jerrickson had a few more than he does. No, he has. He's had a couple seasons where he hasn't. Hasn't played a whole play the whole IRA. Like, so he's currently got 97, which means he's coming up on a milestone. He is coming up on a milestone 100. How many of these Padres or Padres home runs? Let's see. He's hit most of his home runs with the Padres 37 in the five years he's been with the team. He had 32 with the Rangers. I know that Manny's getting close to the Nate Colbert record for most home runs as a Padres. Let me see. I mean, Nate Colbert's record, I believe is only 162. It's not that many, but nobody's ever hit more home runs in a Padres uniform than that. Manny's creeping up on. He's got 145, Manny does. Manny. That's incredible. And what's Colbert still? Was I'm gonna go look at Colbert. I got to go look. I think he's a buck 62. There's two categories that amaze me about the Padres. One is nobody's got more than that in all runs. Oh, Colbert had 162. Yeah. Okay. So nobody's got more than Colbert on that. And Eric Shao remains to this day the only Padres pitcher ever to win 100 games. I mean, come on. Jake P.V. I mean, Bennett, I know Kevin Brown wasn't here long. Randy wasn't really, you know, that long of a run. He had two or three great year, but you would think in the history of a franchise, we are 55 years old now. Yeah, that somebody would have over 100 wins. But we don't have anyone. Shao has exactly 100. I mean, that's exactly 100. You Darvish Darvish has one a ton of games. Let me see if you Darvish. Let me see how many wins he has. Well, you can find all this stuff out. We'll tell everybody. Oh, he's not even close to wins of the Padres. No, he's 30. He's won 36 games. Darvish. Yeah. So that's, that's nowhere near. He's 36 and 32 with the Padres. And that's not going to change any time soon, unfortunately. Unfortunately, not because. Well, he's hurt. Yes, he is. I think it's time for break too. I know I was looking for something else, but I'll get it on the flip side after traffic. Is your child struggling with a specific subject or need help with homework? Hi, welcome back to Gwen and Chris, Chris Ella, Tony Gwen Jr. Mr. Scrabby, Tony coming back for a big five, which gets underway in about five minutes. Quick note, Scrab? Yes. Edwin Diaz, the latest to cheat in Major League Baseball. And by the way, not according to him, if you're Brian Kenny out there, Edwin Diaz actually got caught cheating. So me calling him a cheater is fair game as opposed to when you call Joe Musgrove a cheater and he got caught for no such thing. So I just wanted to differentiate between the two. Diaz was caught. He was suspended 10 games yesterday and he's not appealing the suspension. You know, it's quite amazing that people don't appeal when he flat out didn't do anything wrong and was screaming to the heavens about it the other day. Did Suarez appeal last year? Or do you think so? Because he just he got caught with something and so a take your medicine. You know, I really appreciated the umpire saying I've done this thousands of times and that was not sweat and rosin. Well, I mean, Edwin Diaz has been pitching for thousands of times. He obviously doesn't have that same thing on his glove every time or they never let him into a game. And you know, the Mets manager gets asked about it. Why didn't he why didn't he appeal? Here's the stupid answer. More gobbledygook. Although I hate to go to use that word again. What did they say? What is it? Carlos Mendoza? Yeah, Carlos Mendoza, the Mets manager said, quote, we want to move on from it. We just don't want this to cloud to be hanging over the team for too long. No, you didn't appeal it because he did it. That's why I think he's he's telling the truth. I'm sure he is. No, of course. Did you see the picture of his hand? There was like, pine, I don't know what that was, Vic Cara Plaza, Cara Plaza said that the sticky, discolored substance, the umpires discovered, quote, definitely wasn't sweat. And by the way, if you're going to get caught with this stuff, try something different than telling us it was just rosin and sweat. That's the only thing that happens been used about 800 times. That's the that's the only thing they got, Chris. I really can't believe that anybody even tries to cheat the game anymore like that. I really, I really says a lot about Edwin Diaz. It says a lot about, you know, a lot of these guys, I don't look at it. I know that it is cheating because no other pitcher can do it. I don't look at that as cheating. I look at it as a just something to get a little bit ahead. What's worse? What's worse that or somebody parking on the line in the spot next to you? Someone parking on the line, Chris. I got to tell you, I'm still fired up over that guy about that one. Aren't you? Well, the guy was like, Hey, why don't you step into my car, bro? All right, we got a big five coming up next. We'll find out what's really important in the world of sports next. 436, it's the time. Welcome back to win and Chris getting ready for a big five. Speaking of football, Jim Rome was just talking about Mike McCarthy there. See, Aaron Rodgers didn't show up to the Jets mandatory mini camp. Oh, that's old news. I know it's old news, but it deserves a mention. I know what happened. It is mandatory mini camp. I mean, Aaron Rodgers, who are you? You didn't even play last year. He had an excused absence. Is there a joke at the end of this? No, because I thought Robert Salah said that he had talked to Aaron about what's going on. And Aaron really felt like he needed to do what he was doing. A lot of people think it was his yearly ayahuasca retreat. I mean, the Jets are getting what they deserve there. So what are they getting? So far, nothing headaches, misery. He made defection, defection. I mean, really, has Aaron Rodgers brought anything other than any of those things? No. I think he's been unfairly maligned, Chris. I'm just kidding. I don't think that at all. You know you don't think that. No, I, this is a, this is not even a dolphin fan who's rooting for all of that to be the case. True. I want it to be a complete disaster for the Jets. This is going to be possibly the final year of Aaron Rodgers' career. There's no way he's playing two more unless he like has an MVP year this year. Check some traffic, and then I really want to get into a big old five. It's that time of the show. When we check on the latest in sports, only the most important topics and questions are brought to light. Stop what you're doing and listen. These news stories will astound and amaze you. The one, the only. Oh my god, who the hell cares? I starts now on 97th grade of fan. All right, before we get to the big five real quick, I know I told that SpaceX story yesterday and everybody hated it. Well, I got a text message from my friend later with the Peter Griffin, like, gif of him saying, Oh my god, who the hell cares? I get it people. Jeez. Yeah. So you want to tell it again for those who missed it? No, I never want to bring it up ever again, Chris. Good. Ever. Have you ever might have missed it, though? Go listen to to you. Yeah, really, if you must find out, I mean, the show was, was halted for this story. And it was just not quite working. No, it wasn't. It was halted. Yes. I did. Number five. I did hope the show for that. All right. I've seen this being thrown around after the injury to Fernando Tati's Jr. And believe it or not, we're going to bring up a name from the past once again, White Sox outfielder, former Padre Tommy fam. Now, we don't know how long Fernando is going to be out of the lineup. But I think the Padres are going to let this thing heal up, meaning he could be out three weeks or more. Also, meaning he could be back in July 2nd. So no one has any idea when he's going to come back. Time will only tell Tony do the Padres have their replacement right fielder currently on the roster. Yeah, well, yes, they have to have price jobs. That's the current replacement. Okay, what I'm asking is, do you think the Padres need to go out and get someone to replace Tati's? I mean, of course, they could be nice to just pick up and go out and get somebody, but that requires you giving something up. And we just taught you just had a big five question. I don't know how long ago was that about, you know, maybe not trading pieces because we've already given up a lot? Not to mention, I don't know. Tati's going to come back this year. Yeah. We don't do a lot more question marks about that pitching staff. You know, we don't know what's going to happen with Joe. We don't know at this point was happening with you for for for Craig for crying out loud. So I'm not so sure that it needs to be right field right now. I think as constructed, you got Jake, Arise, Manny, Profar. Did I say Jackson? Yeah, I mean, that should, I think that can get you enough offense. Should everybody be doing what they're doing right now to keep you afloat? I just don't know if you have enough to do right field and pitching. Good point. Chris, what do you think? I think that if you can find somebody who's that much better than David Peralta that you're willing to give up something, then maybe you do it. But I think Peralta is going to be all right. You know, you can use Johnson against left handed pitching in the outfield. But I don't, I don't think that that's a major issue unless we find out that Fernando's not going to be back to the end of August or something. Yes. Yes. But I think you can wait a couple of weeks. I do. This team has shown so much fight, so much grit and the ability to, you know, find a way to win. I think they can stay afloat. I mean, they've been staying afloat without their top two pitchers. They've been staying afloat without Bogart's. You know, eventually you're going to sink. If you lose too many people, just stay afloat. Right. You can't keep doing it forever. But I think unless you find somebody that you feel is that much better than David Peralta, that you're going to give up another prospect or two. Yeah. I think you just wait for Fernando to come back. Yeah, for the record, I said Bryce Johnson because you said right field and I just looked over at the line that was yesterday. And I said Johnson, but, you know, obviously it's probably going to be Peralta on more nights than than none. I've got the three. We do have the three lefty. So maybe that factors in. But yeah, I agree 100% what Christians said. Number four, the Edmonton Oilers may have lost the Stanley Cup finals, but Conor McDavid won the consmith trophy as playoff MVP despite the Oilers losing. McDavid was held without a point in game seven last night. He let all scores with 42.5 shy of the record of 47 set by Wayne Gretzky in 1985. And he is just the second skater since the Flyers Reggie Leach in 1976 to win the consmiths on a trophy on a team that lost in the final. Chris. Should I take a breath earlier? Yeah. I know you hate my breath. There goes a breath. You're trying to be me. Shouldn't MVP ever be given to someone from the losing team? Um, in this case, yes, because that's the way the NHL does it. It's a totally different way. It's a playoff award. It's the entire playoffs that you get the award. It's not just the finals. If you were giving it for only the final finals, probably the Florida goaltender Bob Raski would have won, although he struggled mightily in those three games that they lost before the clincher. And Florida did not have a one standout player. And so it couldn't still be in there. It still could have gone this way. You know, David, when you start tying and breaking records that are held by Wayne Gretzky, you're getting into some rarefied air there. And the consmith trophy by definition goes to the most valuable player of the playoffs, not the finals. I don't think it's a terrible way to do it in other sports. Might be something to think about. I remember Randy Rosa Reyna. Didn't he hit like 10 home runs in the, in the Petco Park? In the, yeah, in the Petco Park year, you know, got to the World Series. Maybe hit one more. I don't think Tampa Bay won it that year, but he might have just did the Dodgers, right? But he might have been the most valuable guy, the whole playoffs, just because he was so incredible. What about Corey Seager? Well, that's another story, you know, for another day, Matt. Tony, I like what the NHL does. And I think in this, in this regard, they got it right because McDavid was so outstanding for the whole playoffs. Tony, you got anything to add to this conversation? Not really. I mean, I thought, I didn't watch all of it, but it was on in here quite often because of my two partners in here. Dave Marcus and Jesse from Miami's got to be happy today. He was definitely happy as this porn sounded. But it did seem like my man McDavid was, was going ham there in that, there in that finals. Now I didn't pay attention to the rest of the playoffs, but he got them back in it. He was a big reason why that team got to game seven. So yeah, no, I think Chris, I'll just take Chris's answer on that one. Me too. It's happened in the Super Bowl many, many, many years ago, right? Chuck Howley, a linebacker. It's happened in the NBA finals. Jerry West, one at one year, the Lakers lost to Boston. Baseball don't think so off the top of my head, but in hockey, they do it a little differently. So that's that explains it. Although the poor commissioner last night, Gary Betman, who gets booed anyway, as soon as he announced the winner of the award, I mean, he's in Florida. He's in Florida. They just won the Stanley Cup and he walks out there and tells them that another guy won the MVP. I mean, they were chanting stuff that they couldn't carry on, carry on TV. Oh gosh. Oh, I know. They weren't, they weren't pleased. They were not pleased. Oh, hockey fans are crazy. Yeah, they are. All right. Yesterday, the Lakers introduced JJ Redick as their new head coach on the same day as his 40th birthday and Lakers general manager Rob Planko was asked some questions about the unusual hire and said it was quote really important for us to see if we could do something a little bit different end quote. And then he, he didn't want the Lakers to be caught in a sea of sameness. So this is going to be a hard question for Tony, but JJ Redick over under one and a half seasons coach with the Lakers. One and a half. I'm gonna say over. Okay. I, you know, I'm a true fan. And so I'm gonna get on board. And I like what I read about I saw it Austin Reeves had to say about it. I really like what JJ had to say. Yes, I could have done without the, you know, the cursing part. Thank you for bringing that up, Tony. That just, that just seems not necessary. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. It would like it could have. He didn't have to go that route, but you know, it is what it is. No big deal. Yeah, I think, you know, I think it'll be more. I think I think he'll get at least two. All right. I almost did two and a half, but I thought that was going to be too much of a too big. No, I think you're, I think you're one and a half is, is pretty spot on numbers. Especially with what's going on in the NBA right now, Chris? Well, yeah, I mean, Monty Williams just got fired for about the second time in 12 days. And he just was the coach of the year a couple of years ago, and he's making, I think, $78 million now from Phoenix and Detroit to not coaching the NBA. And you just look at the track record of Polinka. I mean, you know, Frank Vogel won a championship. They say goodbye to him. You know, Darwin Ham, I think was pretty successful. You know, when the final result, they say goodbye to him. So, but I think you got to give a new coach like this to starting out, unless he proves to be incapable of the job and you find that out, he's going to go over one and a half years. He's got to get at least two, at least two. All right. Number two, after saying in the past that he'd never played for the Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is reversing his course kind of. He was asked about his comments on the Yankees in the past. And if you don't remember, in 2022, he said, quote, I'll never sign with the Yankees, not even dead. End quote. In 2023, he told the New York Post that it was, quote, a personal thing that goes back with my family. And then last night, he said, sometimes one says things. It is not that I'm trying to take back what I said about the Yankees. But this is a business. I sat down and spoke with my dad and my family, and this is a business. And I said, I would never again talk about this topic. And lots of people have asked me about it. Now, everyone is asking about it because the Blue Jays are in last place right now. And he's one of those guys who is like a rental guy. Chris, when would a team in your mind trade a player of his caliber in division? When? Yeah, it doesn't seem likely. Yeah, when they're really not paying attention is when they might do it. And when you're out of it, like Toronto is, now, right? And he's going to be a rental for a year. And you're not going to contend this year. If you can get a hall of players, maybe it's something you think about. I just think it's interesting that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has changed his stance. But that's what being in last place will do for you. It is amazing how that seems to work, Tony, when you're in contention as they were in 2022, you think you'll never want to be traded, especially to the evil empire. So he'll be he'll get a year and a half of control. I just think he wants to go somewhere where he has a chance to win. And it's a it's a what are you what are you doing for me now society? And what the Blue Jays are doing for him right now isn't much. Of course, he's not really doing that much. I mean, he's been weighed down, you know, compared to what he used to produce. So Tony, when would a team in your mind trade a player of his caliber in division? That's very rare that it happens that way. They just, they don't they don't mess with each other like that. Especially the Yankees. Normally, I would agree with Chris on, you know, you know, because the first thing I went across my mind was a free agency and, you know, having a chance to be moved and you don't want to be crossing off the Yankees off to this. But then I thought about King groovy Jr. And King groovy Jr made similar content comments about the Yankees for personal reasons. It was more so because they used to kick him off the field when he was young, younger with his dad there. And that, you know, they, you know, he'd look out and he said, I think he used the nettles. He said, you know, Craig Nettles would play third base for him. His kids would be out there. So he took it personal. He said he would never play for him again. And if you look at his career numbers in the Yankees, he abused them this entire time. And so I actually believe that my guess is, you know, Big Vlad was like, Hey, man, you don't need to, you don't need to be taken on whatever happened to me or, you know, however it was that he said the family was involved in it. He's like, yeah, move on. And I think some of it is what Chris is talking about. Like that team is in last. It could be a place, you know, I doubt it that the blue Jays are going to trade them in division where they got to see them every time. But you don't want to be crossing teams off the list, unless you truly, truly don't feel like you could play it. Or your Ken Griffey Jr. And you know, you can just punish them wherever you go. Yeah. Well, yeah, he was, he was dead set on that, never playing there. I like that seems a little weird on the Yankee side to not let him be. Not if you remember, if you remember, it breaks time in, I remember OG Steinbritter. Yankee still don't have facial hair. They're sticklers. George just stands and did not like guys playing on his field. Told the little Griffey to get the hell out of there. That ball is ripped to right center. This time, Lava, you let is there and it goes off the wall, bare hands fires it in. Rounding and coming home, we got to play at the plate. What a replay. Safe at the plate. They missed the tag. To Camarillo, who finishes it off. And Hunter Inslee just pulls a Houdini act like how did he miss a pedal? And I think he's safe, y'all. I wanted to get the y'all and that's all it was waiting for there was. I think he's safe, y'all. I don't know. Is that Chris Burke? I'm not sure, to be honest. I know Carl average was on the call. Right. I know that was Carl beyond that. I'll take a look and see, but okay, so the men's college was I forgot where I was right. The men's college was a pretty good one. Tennessee went on to win, but there is an incredible play at the plate featuring not only a great relay from Texas A&M, but an even better slide or matrix move by Hunter Inslee. I just retweeted this. So if you haven't seen it, you can go to my Twitter at Matt Scravey and see that side note. I saw comment on this post and someone was so sure that the catcher's foot touching him was good enough for the app. Nope. Sorry, buddy. It doesn't work that way. Other commenters just roasted him and said, first day watching baseball, bro, stuff like that. So now I got to ask you guys this Tony, was this one of the better slides you've ever seen? It was one of the better, but it's not the best. Ooh, the best slide ever done in the history of baseball was by Willie Mays Hayes. There has never been a better slide than that. Actually, I think someone pulled off the Willie Mays Hayes last year or two years ago. I feel like it was in Cincinnati. Someone went over the top like dove up over the catcher, split his leg so he couldn't put the tag up, hit home plate. But that's the kind of slide I think is the best slide to ever have. I was going to go with Willie Mays Hayes. Okay, Chris. I'm going to go with this one over Willie Mays Hayes because there's a real slide in a real game. But this was a pretty, yeah, I know. I know he believes it majorly because he loves that movie and he should. Look, this was a great play. And as it turned out, that was the winning run. I mean, it was five to one when that play happened. That was the sixth run and they ended up winning six to five. So the importance of that play turned out to be pretty remarkable for Tennessee. And if you see it, I'm sure you have or will as Graby said, he tweeted it out, the catcher goes to reach for the guy and he's just not there anymore. Well, I feel bad for the catcher. Yeah, I mean, but he went to he went to tag him where he knew he was going to be. He just wasn't. And you said matrix. That was a great definition of what he did. It was a for what was on the line. It was one of the great slides. The only other thing I'd bring a but bring up was Pete Rose in the all-star game back in the day when he ran over Ray Fossey. That wasn't a slide, but that was just a collision and did Ray Fossey's career won the all-star game when it really mattered way back when. But yeah, this was pretty good. This was pretty good. Somehow Pete Rose keeps getting a mention on this show and I love it. I love Pete Rose. All right. Same for the big five and we get back. Before we get to the big five real quick, I know I told that SpaceX story yesterday and everybody hated it. Well, I got a text message from my friend later with the Peter Griffin like gift of him saying, Oh my god. Who the hell cares? I get it people. Cheese. Yeah. So you want to tell it again for those who missed it? No, I never want to bring it up ever again, Chris. Good ever. I might have missed it though. Go listen to to you. Yeah, really. If you must find out. I mean, the show was halted for this story. And it was just not quite working. No, it wasn't. It was halted. Yes, I did. Number five. I did hold the show for that. All right. I've seen this being thrown around after the injury to Fernando Taty's Jr. And believe it or not, we're going to bring up a name from the past once again. White Sox outfielder, former Padre Tommy fam. Now, we don't know how long Fernando is going to be out of the lineup. But I think the Padres are going to let this thing heal up meaning he could be out three weeks or more. Also meaning he could be back in July 2nd. So no one has any idea when he's going to come back. Time will only tell Tony do the Padres have their replacement right fielder currently on the roster. Yes, they have to have price jobs. That's the current replacement. Okay, what I'm asking is, do you think the Padres need to go out and get someone to replace Taty's? I mean, of course, they could be nice to just pick up and go out and get somebody. But that requires you giving something up. And you just had a big five question. I don't know how long ago was that about, you know, maybe not trading pieces because we've already given up a lot. Not to mention, I don't know. Taty's going to come back this year. Yeah. We don't there's a lot more question marks about that pitching staff. You know, we don't we don't know what's going to happen with Joe. We don't know at this point what's happening with you for for for Craig for crying, crying out loud. So I'm not so sure that it needs to be right field right now. I think as constructed, you got Jake, Arise, Manny, Profor. Did I say Jackson? Yeah, I mean, that should I think that can get you enough offense. You know, you can use Johnson against left-handed pitching in the outfield. Yeah, well, yeah, he was, he was dead set on that, never playing there. I like that seems a little weird on the Yankee side to not let him be. Not if you remember, if you remember, it strikes you with a blank style. Yeah, not if you remember OG Steinbritter. Yeah, I don't think that Yankee still don't have facial hair. Point. You know, they're particular points. George just stands and did not like guys playing on his field. Told the little Griffey to get the hell out of there. That ball is ripped to right center. This time, love, you let is there and it goes off the wall, bare hands fires it in, rounding and coming home, we're going to play at the plate. They missed the tag to Camarillo who finishes it all. And the hunger ends, we just pulled the Houdini act like how did he miss a pal? And I think he's safe, y'all. I wanted to get the y'all in. That's all it was waiting for there was. I think he's safe, y'all. I don't know. Is that Chris Burke? I'm not sure, to be honest. I know Carl average was on the call. I know that was Carl beyond that. I'll take a look and see. But OK, so the men's college was I forgot where I was right. The men's college was here. It was a pretty good one. Tennessee went on to win, but there was an incredible play at the plate featuring not only a great relay from Texas A&M, but an even better slide or matrix move by Hunter Enzley. I just retweeted this. So if you haven't seen it, you can go to my Twitter at Matt Scravie and see that. Side note, I saw comment on this post and someone was so sure that the catcher's foot touching him was good enough for the answer. No, sorry, buddy. It doesn't work that way. Other comments are just roasted him and said, first day watching baseball, bro, stuff like that. So now I got to ask you guys this. Tony, was this one of the better slides you've ever seen? It was one of the better, but it's not the best. Ooh, the best slide ever done in the history of baseball was by Willie Mays Hayes. There has never been a better slide than that. Actually, I think someone pulled off the Willie Mays Hayes last year or two years ago. I feel like it was in Cincinnati. Someone went over the top like dove up over the catcher, split his leg so he couldn't put the tag up, hit home plate, but that's the kind of slide I think is the best slide to ever have. I was going to go with Willie Mays Hayes. Okay, Chris, I'm going to go with this one over Willie Mays Hayes because there's a real slide in a real game. But this was a pretty, yeah, I know. I know you believe it majorly because he loves that movie and he should look, this was a great play. And as it turned out, that was the winning run. I mean, it was five to one when that play happened. That was the sixth run and they ended up winning six to five. So the importance of that play turned out to be pretty remarkable for Tennessee. And if you see it, I'm sure you have or will, as Gray B said, he tweeted it out. The catcher goes to reach for the guy and he's just not there anymore. Well, I feel bad for the catcher. Yeah, I mean, but he went to he went to tag him where he knew he was going to be. He just wasn't. And you said matrix, that was a great definition of what he did. It was a for what was on the line. It was one of the great slides. The only other thing I'd bring up was Pete Rose in the all-star game back in the day when he ran over Ray Fossey. That wasn't a slide, but that was just a collision. And did Ray Fossey's career won the all-star game when it really mattered way back when. But yeah, this was pretty good. This was pretty good. Somehow Pete Rose keeps getting a mention on this show and I love it. I love Pete Rose. All right, say for the big five and we get back, we're gonna set you up for tonight's game between Adam Maisure and Mackenzie Gore. Why did I forget his name for a second, guys?
