He's from France. He's 19 years old and the Hawks are supposed to take him. Okay. Resocker. I believe it was his last name. Sorry. I'm just taking a wild stab. I have no, no clue. The next guy is from Perth, Australia, Washington, which is supposed to take him with the number two pick. His last name is SAR, S-A-R-R third pick you might have heard of Reed Shepherd, Young Guard from Kentucky and on down the line it goes. But anyway, the first couple of picks are going to be foreign players, at least according to this particular draft simulation. A bunch of guys from the G League, the point is basketball's lost quite a bit with all of these other ways for guys to get ready to go into the NBA. It's probably better for them and their talent, but it doesn't give us the same interest who follow college basketball. We know who these college basketball players are, but they're hardly being drafted at all. For example, Zach Edie, who you all know, the big kid from Purdue two-time player of the year, isn't projected to go until 17th in the first round. That team they project them to, by the way, is the L.A. Lakers. We'll see if that is how that turns out. Oh, I would love for him to be on the Lakers. Yeah, it'd be interesting to see what Tony's response to that would be. The only other name that anybody seems to really care about being drafted one way or another is a guy by the last name of James, first name, Bronnie, and whether or not he'll be drafted at all. We'll see. I'm looking at this particular mock draft here. Keyshot Johnson's on here, second round to Golden State, 50 second pick overall, I hope for Keyshot's case he gets that, and they do have Bronnie James. One round pick going to the Lakers. Well, to me, those will be the intriguing stories. The NBA, though, is trying to become the NFL. They're going to fall far short, but they're trying. Tomorrow is the first round. The second round won't be until Thursday. They're doing a two-day TV event. Well, if the NFL does it, Chris. Well, the NFL does what three days. Yeah. The players, one at a time, getting to lift it over their head, passing it around. Each member of the team getting their moment with the cup and Laurie and I were watching this last night after the game was over in Florida had won. It doesn't really matter to us who wins the Stanley Cup. It's the one tradition slash celebration that my wife and I watch together every sports year and we enjoy it every single time. And I will say this, the handshake line that the Stanley Cup playoff teams do is still sports Every player on both teams lines up. They all shake hands going through the line one at a time, hugging and congratulating. You know, the NBA's had trouble with this certain college basketball. Yeah. Oh yeah. There's so many fights. There's so many fights. Come on, man. Can't we just get it together? Come on. Anyway, the Stanley Cup, the greatest tradition, I was going to ask you, other than maybe the last year's champ putting the green jacket on this year's champion, give me another tradition that even holds a candle to the Stanley Cup coming out on the ice and everybody holding it up. Yeah. I honestly was trying to think last night, I couldn't come up with any. I must be forgetting something like baseball. Is there anything after the World Series? They, of course, you get drunk Rob Manfred delivering the MVP trophy. Okay. So that's a good tradition. All right. What do you get? What do you get in football? I guess they do the thing where they get on the stage and they all get to raise it up and they all get to talk about not close. Just not close. It's the same thing. It's not close to the Stanley Cup just doesn't care. It doesn't hold a candle to it. I appreciate about the Stanley Cup is that, sorry, Nick just walked by the window and scared me. I was like, who is that? I think it's really fun when players take it out and about. I saw a video of a Florida Panther just walking down the street and with the cup and everybody's like, who is this guy? And he just has it over his head on some random street. I love it. So that's the other part of the tradition that we don't see, which is certainly amazing and fun is that every player who wins the Stanley Cup gets one day with the cup in their hometown. Do you know how they choose the order of how that happens? Yeah. I think that's somewhat geographical. I think each player decides where they want their day with the cup to be. And then they, you know, I don't think they fly to you, the slop or, you know, the slop key and then back to Canada and then over to Greece and then, you know, so they probably, but every player gets a day with the cup, man, that's, that's, that's pretty awesome. Does, does Mr, um, cupkeeper cupkeeper, I think he goes everywhere. He does. I think that's life. That is awesome. Mr. Blond here cupkeeper. If I was able to just travel the world with the Stanley Cup, that would be cool. My wife said, is he married? I go, I don't know. At least are you interested? Yeah. He's married to the cup, but anyway, I just, I, I, you know, hockey, to me, for one night at least, it's the greatest theater in sports. And it doesn't matter who wins the Stanley Cup. I mean, I don't care less about the Florida Panthers, but it, you know, it's always fun. There's always great stories. Some kid from a little hometown is, you know, never been on an airplane and he's getting this Stanley Cup and then some other guy who's been in the league for 30 years. And you can see the coach of the Panthers last night, Paul Maurice, cause he had been in the league coaching for like 25 years. He's never won the cup. And when he got it in his hands, I mean, it was just a choke up type moment. It was a heartfelt moment because you could just tell how much it meant to him. Anyway, I love the NHL celebration at the end of every year. That was nice. I like that. And, you know, when the ESPN or whoever came out with these rankings about a month ago, top rookies in the national league, Jackson Merrill was even in the top 10. And I thought, no, that's not really, that's not right. He was hitting, you know, pretty close to 300 then, yes, but now that he sits seven home runs in June and he's walked off games and he's, you know, coming up with big hits night after night, people are starting to notice latest odds on rookie of the year in the national league. Imanaga, the Cubs is still number one, he's fading a little bit, plus a hundred skeens Pittsburgh plus one 50. He's looking good. And number three, Jackson Merrill. He's looking number three now. That's that's a huge jump for him. He was out of the top 10. Now he's in the top three, so he's moving up doesn't take, it's not that hard to realize that he's good. Yeah. He has another month like this. He's going to jump both those other guys. And I know schemes is getting a lot of notoriety, but schemes doesn't play every day. Jackson Merrill's doing it. Yes. So we're talking about Jackson Merrill, but anyway, Scrabie brought this out of those kind of interesting, you know, like if I'd have thought of it, give it kind of a five, but since Scrabie came up, I'm giving it like a nine. Okay. Well, it's Jackson Merrill's draft selection in what 2021 2021 and he was drafted to how high 27th so as Scrabie points out here, that means 26 other players were drafted ahead of Jackson Merrill, 26 other teams could have gotten him. Who did those teams take instead? I just saw kind of fun to look back on this three, four years later. Totally is number 25. I just looked at this and I thought that this person, this couldn't be true and it's not true. The A's drafted Max Muncie with the 25th pick of the 2021 draft different Max Muncie. How are you sure? I clicked on it. Yeah. He's positive because Max Muncie did start in the A's organization. Yeah. The Dodgers Max Muncie has been in the league. He won in 2020. So he would have to be on the team in 2021. So that's not the Max Muncie. No, no, it's, he's still, this guy is still in the rookie level league or high a, but anyway. All right. So let me go through. All right. So here are the picks ahead of Jackson. Well, number one was who by who, your guy by the pirates, Henry Davis. Oh, man, Henry Davis catcher, catcher out fielder and is not clicked at all. No, no, he has not not at all. He's been up and down. And when he's been up, he hasn't done anything. Yeah. Yeah. So I, I spent many of days watching him in the studio. I thought he was a sneaky pick for my fantasy team. Not so. Second overall. Okay. Number two, for the Texas Rangers, Jack Leiter. He just made his debut. Oh, yeah. I like your son. Yeah. He made his debut earlier this year. He gets the tigers, I believe. I don't think he had a good outing. All right. But he hasn't, he hasn't really scratched the surface. Yeah. And now some of these players may be going through their minor league systems. Okay. So I don't know every. Yes. We didn't do a research on this. Complete breakdown on this. The tigers. This is why they may be the tigers, Chris, because they drafted number three overall, a pitcher named Jackson Job. Okay. That's working out. Why? Nice. Now again, maybe Jackson Job is 15 and O at double A somewhere and I don't know that. You're true. As far as impact at the major league level, none so far here's one that is local to us. Okay. Number four. Boston Red Sox. Short stop. Yep. Yeah. March. Solo Meyer. Yeah. He's like high school. Yeah. Taking him, you know, while and again, I don't know how Marcelo's doing, but I think it's fair to say that Jackson Merrill is ahead of him on the pecking order at this point in time. Yes. When it comes to the 2021 draft, oh my gosh, it's. I mean, the only, the only player I would even consider wanting that was taken ahead of Jackson Merrill that you named would be Matt and a claim. Yeah. And he's hurt right now. Yes, her. Yeah. Colton Cowser has done a few things for the Orioles this year. Now again, we could do the same list in a couple of years and maybe some of these guys have made the big leagues and started making an impact. So let's put that disclaimer in. Yes.
