Carvey, of course, and now we know it's well known here in the West for his time at Fremantle, Essen and Champion, and was a part-time senior coach also for three games in Brisbane. And you know what's most important? You know what's most important. Good luck. Good luck. We are here. No, no, throw it around Willie Neal. Oh, yes, you do. Why don't the all-time greats? I'd like to know what your good luck seven at seven is, and you're still involved at the bombers as an ambassador. Harves, appreciate your time. Good morning. Good morning to dynamic you up, right? Still young. Still young. Still young, Eric. I was just thinking about the Olympics, and I wonder what, if you couldn't be a footballer or a journalist, what would you be in the Olympics, Tim? Or go to you first? High jump. High jump. Yeah. Scotty, you'd be a diver. [Laughter] Don't hit me, wait, lift up. [Laughter] Or you blokes. You'll make it both over 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, be watching the boomers at the moment. I was gonna... You know what? Say marathon myself, but anyway. Alright? Marathon. Yeah. Sure. I always wanted arm wrestling in the Olympics, but they never did it. [Laughter] Well, I was just saying change. Anyway, let's get on with the footy. No, break dancing, isn't it? So, just say change, right, wrestling. Yeah. Great. Hey Harves, last time we spoke to you, we were talking about coaches send-offs, and, you know, set coaches don't really get a chance to get fair world in the proper way, and we're talking about motorcades and all that sort of stuff. Adam Simpson has departed in recent times, and tossed the coin. He's family got a corporate box. They're all there. The whole club was there. He loved it. He loves the boys. He's a premship winning coach. That's almost like the perfect departure, is it not? Well, mine is a little bit different. I took off her from applying from Perth to Poon, but did they have to? [Laughter] Anyway, yes, I actually do think at some stage, whether it's immediate or down the track, I think I even suggested to a couple of years down the track, that they should have motorcades for all the ex-coaches of clubs at some start. It's just to recognize all the hard work that has been done, and let's say that coaches have the right intention trying to get a club a premship, and more often not, they will sacrifice a lot of their family life, and I think at some stage they should. I think it's a great exercise, and it should be part of the deal. Very much so. We're seeing a lot of, now is the time, August, where AFL assistant coaches basically getting told whether they're going to be around long term. We see Matthew Knights as departing West Coast in four weeks, time to go back to Melbourne for family reasons. We've seen David Teague has gone straight away, of course, so he's departed. It's a really changing time, isn't it? People forget about these assistant coaches and the amount of work they do and the upheaval it can cause them as well, but it's a moving face for the assistant coaches at this time of year and beyond. Well, you're right, Tim, and the coaches say that whether you like it or not, they're probably not strong enough to stand up to the rigors of what coaches and how they should be looked after contract-wise. Everyone's want to tend to hold to the moment if you're out of contract. It doesn't matter whether you're a coach or a player at the moment. It's all encompassing. So the next four or six weeks, and I reckon part of the reason that you see side fluctuating is because they're dealing with the pressure of not knowing. Some of the players on list, as an example, some clubs would have upwards of 20 players uncontracted at the moment as well as coaches. Yeah, we're talking about West Coast at the moment as well. Their list is one that needs a bit of an upheaval on Web. Can clubs halves with your experience turn over 10 or 11? That's a lot, isn't it, to go back then to trade in and draft? Well, Tim, I can remember my first two years. I think it was upwards of 30 players in the first two years, and that was part of the mantra from the club. You can do it, but it's going to take you some time to recover. Everyone needs patience and probably after the third, fourth, fifth year. That's probably when you see the results. But when I have a look at Fremantle, I mean, they're in a great position at the moment. I think they got three first round picks next year. On top of where they're sitting at the moment. So David Walz, who was the guy that I actually came across in recruiting, and when I set up the satellite recruiting area in Melbourne, he was part of that, and it's good to see he's seeing the reward of that. Yeah, Fremantle, 7, 12 and 16. Seven is their Collingwood pick, so that could even go higher or lower, whichever way it works out. Now, there's a lot of speculation about Baker and Bolton and Warner and Fremantle. If you were in charge of their recruiting halves, and you, of course, Fremantle play Essent in this week, would you be chips in to get you just offload those draft picks to get ready-made talent? And I'm talking about those first rounders, and there's at this stage one inside the top ten. Would you be offloading to get your hands on Baker, Bolton, and/or Warner? I'd be certainly looking at Bolton. Yes, I would be. I'd be trying to keep one or two picks, and offload one of those first round picks to see whether I could get one of those players to the club. They're in an intriguing position, Fremantle. Probably the best position ever that they need, really, to make the most of these situations. And let's face it, they're not out of the equation this year, and they're playing really well, and very much underestimated the way they're going. Absolutely spot-on. I'm on the same with you, Harves, is, you know, get a couple in, keep a couple of drafts for future. But anyway, what's happening at the Hangar mate, the wheels off, they completely fallen off, and I'm tipping that if you're in charge, I reckon you would have gone down the path of a boys. We're having a locking. We're having a locking, and we're going to have a real, honest conversation. We would have jumped on the path of me. We would have gone to country Victoria, light the fire, and then splash it out, and then work it out, and drive back, and then get on with it. No, I look at it this way. So we're watching the Olympics at the moment. We're qualified as one of 12 teams to potentially make the finals. We've got four heats to go. The first one is versus Fremantle this week. And one thing I was always concerned with, Scotty, just an analogy, is once you play the Derby over there, the following week, because it's a big build-up to mostly, and everyone's sort of last-man standing sort of thing. The following week, I was always concerned to make sure that the players were going to get up. Now, I'm not saying that's going to happen, but you Fremantle come over here and they're a little bit flat from the Derby, and let's face it was full-on physically. It was one of those sort of games, which they normally are. On a Sunday afternoon, the MCG, we've copped it unbelievably here every day in the media. This would be one of our last chances to make the finals, and let's face it, Fremantle haven't played at the MCG. All that much this year. Only one game, is that right, Tim? Checking. Checking. Checking. He's the tables, man. Be your spot on. The aftermath of the Derby is big. We have got the ability, and we're under siege, so that, therefore, the chemical is a dangerous situation. You. You. Four-three medal. No one had a stronger resolve than you have, so when it came to, you know, I played at the G1 season. Round nine, Richmond. Yeah. Well, so it's unfamiliar. And smash them by 54 points. Yeah, well, okay. Yes, we'll take Richmond on face value. Yeah. Fair point. It's the same, I know. Your resolve as a player and a person is second to none. Have you seen that? I mean, how involved? I don't know. You're not down there with training every day, but have you seen resolve in this playing group, but isn't it? I don't think I have any more down into the football department. Scotty, but it's interesting, you know, the tribulations of teams this year. I'm looking at the swans and Carlton. Are they falling over? Are they in the same mode as we are? Or are they just a victim of injury, expectation for Teague? It's all these things. So we're one of these clubs that stand ourselves in a run at the moment, and we've got to find a way out quickly. We have got a draw that is, I think we can win three out of four. That's me personally from afar. Not knowing the strategy in the game plan necessarily, but we've certainly got the talent. We haven't got many injuries here at all. So, you know, Sunday afternoon, 3 o'clock, it begins. What do you like to be afraid of, Haves? And where's one aspect of the game you think that they're a little susceptible? Well, where's that player, Vos, that they got off RC? He should be the team. Anyway, he's a tough young forward. He's done fairly well when he's coming in at the time. I know I miss the trace. He's a lot of those guys. I mean, keep forwards. Oh, look, I like the all-round team. He's free now. You've got the rock cover, Darcy and Jackson. You got so wrong. Broke, you're young. Unfortunately, fire's not playing. That'll be interesting by the way that fire's not playing, particularly if he was doing run withdrawals. You know, down back, you've got to organize with Roy. And these sort of guys, I like Frederick pieces, obviously, on the sidelines. Banfield bobs up in the four lines with Kowski. Even his mind's been bellentine a little bit, that bloke. He's got that sort of dog of determination. So, look, there are really good side. And, well done to Justin and the coaches have done a fantastic job. I said, "Mazongu's there. He's doing a development role, is he?" Yep. He's always about the place. Now, now, what do you guys... You're aware that Aaron's seen the way he's coming on the front bar over here next week? Oh, that'll have people rolling in the arse. Yes, yes. Well, Tim, you've got to extract him. He's a company. He's very funny. He's actually dry funny. He's dry funny. I agree. He is. He is. Now, listen, I need to speak to your brother, Tim. Do you know how your brother is? Simon Miller, the red horse grinder. My twin. He's known as my twin. I had a horse that ran with him yesterday and ran down the track. So, I've got to ring him after this fine story. What's the name of the horse? What's the name of the horse? It's not like shake. It's not like shake. Disappointed. I thought it was... Yeah, it was. It was. Yeah, it was. I've got one with him too. I've got one with him too that can't even get to the track. OK. Well, I'll... I'll tell part of it, Tim. I say, Simon, Simon listens every morning. Sorry, the phone's about to be turned off. He's got an angry call from the owner. All right, Harves. Give us a winner of the game, Fremantle versus Essendon, before we let you go. I think that Essendon will win, actually. It's a backs against the wall stuff. We have got some talented young players. Some dangerous forwards who haven't been in form. But that's OK. That's OK. You're seeing teams like Sankil. This is an interesting part of our football. OK. You let them go. You give them a license. You let them play quicker. Well, guess what? We're in a situation where maybe we need to do that as well. So, who knows? Now, I'm not sure what Brad said to him during the week, but I know that he doesn't hold back. So, sometimes, if you just give him a license and you press the go button, you can make them mean all the difference. So, we'll see. I'll tell you what. You have changed. There's no tomorrow. We've got some forwards that aren't in form, but that's OK. It was never OK when I wasn't in form. Now, I always blame the supply to you. It's called quality of supply. That's right. That's right. There's nothing to do with you leaving the goals quick, or not leaving the goals quick. Simon Miller has texted, salt lake shake, way down by expectation, similar to Harves's footy team. Very good. He's very good. Nice work by you Harves. Appreciate your time. OK. Good on you guys. There he is, Mark Harvey. Always good to have his time. As we drill down, thanks to Toolkit Depot. Seen a better price.
