in the last few years. [MUSIC] >> Sonos, multi-room listening, wireless home theater, and more. Experience game changing sound this season with Sonos. >> It's got to you and Goss for breakfast. [MUSIC] >> Morning, everyone, 4x6. Talking depot studio for the next two hours, thanks to the wonderful team. It's Sonos experience game changing sound this season with Sonos. No ash, Brazil, unwell, back to back. >> It's got comings, Melbourne, doesn't word Fridays. More has be, contract talks. So we've got ourselves, home is racial, good morning. >> Off the bottom of the barrel once again, good to be here. >> You're the mocha-walters of, yeah, just coming off the bench, having my couple, and then going about the day. >> Very good, hey, big day yesterday, and big show coming up. But big day, yes, they significant day. Justice prevails for Toby Bedwell. >> Of course. >> Thank God. >> And Tally Cameron. >> What a day, a day for football, a day for the fans to just rejoice. Because what looked like the world was ending and the game was just being thrown into disrepair. They have rectified it and they've righted the ship, steady the ship. And it's, yeah, all is well again. >> No, it's still, we don't have clarification on what's a fair tackle. My God, I know you still have no idea what you can do and what you can't do. But I think that's a win for common sense. That's a win for football. Yeah, I mean, I would like to see a world where that doesn't even have to, like you don't have to get three weeks for that. And you don't have to hear the AFL try and justify the explanation for the Charlie Cameron tackle, like your foot was in a place that could have been avoidable and you should have sat him down. It's like, I know you're just doing that on purpose to try and sound smart, but you sound like an idiot, whoever was saying that. And don't, and I'd like to get to a place where we don't have to say that. And it's just, oh, that's, that couldn't have been avoided. That's just a tackle unlucky. It's a contact sport next week. >> I watched it several times again yesterday and probably more times yesterday trying to look at clarification of the actual tackle. And I think Liam Duggan is the major contributor. He actually tries to pull away from Charlie Cameron's tackle and move to the wrong. Cameron doesn't shift him. Dougo's almost pulling away and then that's where it all gets a mix up and that's when they go to ground. >> Liam was a contributing factor, I'm not saying he wants to get concussion, but he actually tries to break the tackle by stepping sideways. >> Yeah, well of course he tries to break the tackle. He's in, it's in his D50 and he's trying to get away from a small forward. >> Yeah. >> There's always going to be those sorts of things. And yeah, it's, I'm glad that it got off. That's an unavoidable head collision that sometimes in football happens because it's a contact sport. >> You love your golf, have you taken in any of the Open Championship? >> Yep, I sat there and watched quite a bit last night. And watched Tiger through his first sort of four or five holes. I mean, he is still cool to watch. It's, I mean, he's not, he might not win it. He's just getting there, but he still has an aura about him. And it's just awesome to watch him. >> Isn't he, Daniel Brown leads, he's six under and Shane Lowry, 500. Now they were the afternoon groups. And that's when the conditions were tough and we talk of Tiger, eight over, whatever it was, nine over, Rory McElroy's out of contention. A lot of other big names are out of contention already. But those guys were bogey free. >> Yeah, that was insane. I mean, the way, the thing about Royal True and Open Link style golf is that any hazard you're just dead. Like it's so, there's some of the bunkers. You can be right up against the face and you're cooked. You miss it in the rough and you can either get really lucky or you're just dead. And it's, yeah, it's really enjoyable watching the golf and all the little challenges and yeah, it's good. >> Okay, so Daniel Brown leads at six under Shane Lowry, 500. And then some big names. Justin Thomas, Alex Norrin, Nicholas Wigar, Justin Rose, of course. Shoflais, two under. And a couple of those, he's Adam Scott, one under, went out early. Chef was one under, Matt Fitzpatrick, one under, Kepka's one under. Minwoo, Lee fantastic. >> Yeah, he was good. >> He even par for him. >> Oh, the other one had us. Camp Smith, nine over. >> Camp Smith was nine over there, he was in a bit of trouble. >> He's in trouble and a couple of other Aussies was scrolled down here with the Jason Day two over. So even two over isn't disastrous because of, you're only basically seven shots off the pace. But you're actually tied for 70th. So there's a couple of other Aussies here as well. But what under Minwoo, Lee, he's the leading Australian at the moment. Second Australian behind Adam Scott as well. Plenty of texts on the line already coming through. Don't forget, you can text us anytime 048773676. >> Yes, Roy Seis, what were you doing on the back chat potty? Goss, don't shake his hand. That was the first thing I said when you arrived. >> Yeah, don't shake my hand. That's all right. I'm glad I didn't, I should explain to our listeners. >> Well, I said, I mean, finally the tribunal has decided to be serious and they weren't last week. I said one week too early, one week too early. Yeah, I said last week about Isaac Haney, if he doesn't get, if he doesn't get off, I'll poop in my hands and clap and he didn't get off. So I picked up a dog poo and clap with it. That's right, I've washed my hands plenty of time since then. That's okay. >> What's wrong with that? >> It's gross. >> Yeah, it wasn't fun. I should've said it this way. >> I should've said it this way, you know, it would've been laughing. >> Exactly. >> Anyway, you do push the limits on your podcast, which is nice. >> Hey, more important matters, are you playing this week? >> I am, I'm back, yeah. Quads feeling good, thank you. >> What sort of test do you do? >> I had to get to full speed. I had to be able to accelerate and decelerate as quickly and as slowly, like, get it at maximum. I had to then change of direction. I had to be able to kick as far as I could, all of which under no pain from the left quad, which it was. And I recorded the top 31 1/2 kilometers an hour I ran on Tuesday, which is the fastest I've ever been recorded in my whole time of wearing GPS. >> Were you going down Malcolm Street? >> Downhill, yeah. >> Down the work, yeah, running downhill. Now I was, I was clocked and I feel pretty good. And with that being said, when you're injured and you've got a soft tissue injury like that, are you conscious of it when they say, right, this is a fitness test? And what's your, where's your mind at? Are you just worrying about the jobs you have to do or are you thinking injury? >> I'm thinking a bit of both. I'm probably in a lucky position at Waffle Wear like, I don't have to, I don't have to wait. If I can get up, I'll, like, if it's good, I'll play. If not, I can give myself another week and I'm not really worried about selection down the line. And so it helps for me. But when I was doing it, I'm thinking about the next six to 10 weeks. I'm thinking, if it's 100%, then more than I can play. But if it's a little bit off, then I won't because I've got, you know, a back end of the year to worry about. But I, yeah, got through unscathed and, yeah, you're thinking about it. But once you're, once you're in the swing of things and you're moving and you're sweating and you're puffing and it's like, well, you don't really worry about it and you're good. >> Interesting. Peel fan, I've got the buy, of course, you don't. But percentage, you're probably, well, you'll go to the top if you beat the top of the ladder. There was a couple of shaky weeks there, especially shaky finishes, even though you've probably got away with a few wins. So what a great season it is with East Perth and Swan districts at the top of the ladder. It's great. If that was to be the grand final, it would get 40,000. >> Yeah, it would be big. It's just, it's everyone starting to, like, the whole comp is starting. I mean, last year was tight. We had second to fifth on percentage. But this year is just as tight. The competition's really strong. And yeah, we had the week, we got a game in hand. So if we can win this week, we'll jump to the top and then it's up to us as to whether or not we hold it. But yeah, the competition's tight. It's, it's in a good spot. >> East Perth take on Perth. Of course, you're playing against your good mate, Charlie. >> Yep. >> He's back. >> He'll be there. >> Of course, West Perth take on East Shramantle, West Perth are in a world of hurt with their player availability. And Subiaco take on South Shramantle, which is coincidentally was the first Waffle League game that Bo Wardman unpired when he, because he unpired 100 Waffle League games. And now he's coaching 100. It's the first to ever do it. And he joins the WAFL 200 club. So congratulations to Bo Wardman of the Subiaco Football Club. Plenty of text, Mike says, "Boys, these tribunal inconsistent decisions are taking away the best part of the game. The tackle is as good as a goal, and it can change the game," says Mike Appelli. >> Oh, great. I think looking at, oh, I looked at that, the Hawthorne Fremantle game on the weekend. And I was, that was my favourite game of the weekend because it was just hard. Like crash and bash and blokes were not lining each other up. But there was a couple where you could see that a bloke was sitting under a big hospital handball, and maybe old child was licking his lips, and Johnson had to take this, and just crunched him, just Tracy was doing the same. It was just hard hitting good old-fashioned footy. And it's one of the, like when you see a big tackle and it's grimace and you're like, you know how much it would hurt. It's like, that's good. You want to see that. You don't want to see blokes just dumping each other on their heads and doing anything reckless. But there's nothing wrong with hard-nosed football. And I think that if we can get that tribunal and grading system and everything right, which I think they're going to have to do at the end of the year, the massive overhaul of that whole system, if you can get that right, you can still keep the fabric of the game intact and protect the head at the same time. I think they've done really well with the swing tackle. I think players have adjusted really well to that. And I think the game is better for it. I think it's a cheap shot to dump someone after. In the old days, they did it, dime a dozen. What I did see on the weekend was a wonderful, low-executed bump by Liam Ryan, here at Optus Stadium. And he's taking a risk, but he says he was there. He was on the boundary. He was there to be got. And he got down really low. Didn't run through. He got down really low. And he did hurt. And I think Liam enjoyed it. Yeah, Liam loves the bump. He's been doing it. He's done it a couple of times. And it's important to pick off in the grand final. And by the way, I think, just from memory, it was pretty cool. Watch that a couple of times. Now, the way that the bump is an interesting one, because everyone knows as soon as you get that wrong, you're done. But to execute it properly, there are times where you can do that as opposed to tackling, and it really works. Like, you can bump a bloke off the footy and then make a play for it a lot quicker, then you can tackle a bloke and then make a play for the ball. So you don't see many opportunities where it can work really well. But that's another one where it hits. You split a bloke down the side. You're hitting perfectly. And it's just, oh, you know how much it would hurt. And you just love watching it. And it's good football. A whole crowd gasps, and it's like, that's footy. That's a good hit. Last thing you want, though, is try to execute a bump in the midfield. And all you do is ricochet off him. And he just gets the ball. He gets the ball and runs off. And you're on the ground and you're feeling it. Hey, a couple of questions. Now, Justin Longview is going to join us, too. If you've got a question for Justin Longview, in particular, three 0 fans, 0 4 8 7 7 3 6, 7 3 6 is the number. Michael Walters on Being the Sub. This is what he said last week when he was on the show. I actually don't mind being the sub bump. You can come on. Everyone's tired and being 33. You know, you can sort of swim around the field whenever you come on. But I'm happy to play whatever role I want to play. And I know that I'm going to play side that. That's definitely the mindset that I've got. Later part of my career. And like I said, the sub goal, you can go on and have a bit of an impact. So I think that a lot of good players, and especially speaking, fast players by myself, winch, can go out there and not have it. It's just me! Yeah, it's just given us the win. So the last three games for Michael, he did the hamstring against the dogs. Three positions. Sub against Richmond 4. Came on and kicked a couple of party goals. And had two against the Hawks and only came on late. What's his role? I think he's still important to the side. I think he's ageing, but their 4-9 is very young. If he was half back, I'd say, shake your hand and you know, enjoy what's left. If you get another game, you get another game. But their 4-9 is so young and raw, that he adds a level of class and experience that they don't otherwise have. And I think if they can get him to a point where he's fit enough to play out a whole game, I think he has to play a whole game soon. Can't keep leaving him as the sub for this. But I think he's important to the point where he can be later on field. And he's good enough. His best is still good. So I think he's earned his spot. And if he can play a full game at full fitness, you get to see what he's at. If he plays in the next few games and plays all the... And he's only having, you know, he's only having five or six. Well, then you've got to look elsewhere. But at the moment, I think his best is good. And his level of experience that they need. On the AFL website, the 3-mountals half-word line is Bailey Banfield. And they've named Sam Swift Caskets in half-word. They're big. Michael Frederick. So there is Michael Walter's three forward line spots there. They're the three players, yeah? Yeah. So is he only in for one of them to be subbed out? Because no disrespect, but he's not a half-back. He's a limited midfielder because of age. He can only play that forward position. And are they putting him in as sub as reassurance, as a shoot insurance for those three? But if a backman goes down, then they're in a... You might play him off the bench. You might have an extra rotation through there as those are forwards. I'm not sure. I still think... I think he's got a bit too often still at this stage of the year. All right, so this is their bench. Question without notice. Sure. This is their bench. Tell me the five that play, four in a sub. Sturt, O'Mira, Walters, Ash, Johnson, Walker, Vos, Brody. Tell me the five that play. O'Mira plays, Vos plays, I think Johnson plays. And then probably Ash, yeah. And then you've got a sub. So I think it's probably Walters again. So I think Sturt, he's not... I think Sturt misses out, Walker misses out, and Brody misses out. That would be my five. 048773673636, if you're free, I've found an agree or disagree. Speculation, I've had a text in this morning, and I've heard this during the rounds as well. A contract extension imminent for Justin Longviewer. There's no need, is there? How long has he got left? Well, he's got another one after this. I think he extended last year. Yeah, get to the end of the year. I mean, it's good to show a sign of faith in your coach. But we've got the audio of him last year. Pretty sure he was in the... Remember when they announced it? Simon Garlic announced it in the club, and all the players were sitting around, and some said they didn't clap. Actually, I'd think that was last year, wasn't it? Yeah. So that was a contract extension that got him through... To 2025. End of 2025. I don't see any point extending him right now, but I don't think he's not going to be the coach. Yeah, I imagine that he will be, unless things take a disastrous turn next year. But yeah, I mean, things are going well. They're probably going to play finals. They might finish shop for, if they do, then great. If not, you still had a successful year. Did you know about this? This is Joe Bright, he had a football at Fremantle. Talking about the flight back from Tazzy. Yeah, look, from a club perspective, we moved on pretty quickly. When we were about an hour into the return flight home, they informed us that the tanks were full. Our players could still use the toilets, but obviously they were filling up along the flight. It led to the staff to have to do some things to make sure we could manage the entire flight home. It wasn't appropriate, really, in terms of having those facilities in need to be at it. At a standing level where people can travel home for the passengers and all sort of staff, but it was managed in the best way, possibly could have. And obviously the AFL were now investigating it, and I'm going to make sure that, obviously, the appropriate facilities are available for clubs when they're on charter spoonful. Were you aware of this? Yeah, I read this yesterday. And we're in the basins. We're in the basins. Yep, that's not on. Pretty funny. But yeah, it just... I don't get how that happens. Every time I play in lanes, the toilet should be emptied. Yeah, you'd think so. I just... I don't get... Yeah, I always just always think, when I used to grow up as a kid, I'm sure... I used to think it just dropped off the plane. Thank you. You'd just be flying over the middle and some bloke, some farmer in the middle of South Australia. You're just going to... Just to... Waste full of poo. Yeah. Fertilise the farm. Beautiful. That's what I used to think. That's an oyster thing. Yeah. Not exactly how it works, apparently. So, really, in this modern day, it's a charter flight. Yeah, baffling that that's happened on a charter flight. I mean, I haven't spoken to Andrew about it. I was texting him about it yesterday once I read it. But yeah, and the flight was it from Tazee. That's a six-hour... It's a six-hour job. You'd be pretty flat. So, I don't do public toilets. And if I can get through a plane flight regardless... You don't do public toilets. No way. Why not? Because other people have been there. So? No, no, no, mate. Well, no. Old silver spoon and sausage. No, it's not Danish. Bloody hell. No, it's just I struggle with public transport because of other people. And I struggle with... Definitely struggle in the public toilet. Fair enough. Fair enough? You know. Anyway, I'll leave it at that. Hey, was your brother involved in the meeting with Liam Baker? I haven't. I saw that yesterday. Him and Caleb's wrong. Apparently caught up for a chat. I haven't. I don't know. Do they need Liam Baker? I just... 27. I think they could probably go after... Who else would I check? Warner. Chad Warner or Shae Bolton. That'd be the two. I'd be hounding. I think that's who they're after. And they've got the draft picks. They're not going to do... No disrespect to Bakes. Bakes would be a perfect fit at West Coast. Yep. I agree. I reckon he provides a real strength around it. Goes for it and kicks goals, which the midfield doesn't do. Yep. And he'll probably get more money at West Coast to be... If... No doubt. ...being honest to Liam. Yeah. Well, he's got gas money to come. Probably daling money. Shower the money. McGovern. He's money. There's money there for you. If you want it, Liam. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I don't know how often those things are light about that the two of them caught up, but they might have. Look, Ryan had this to say. I don't even know if they did make it that I don't know these old rumours. I don't really read into that sort of stuff. But if it does come to colour, it would be pretty nice as a good player. And I'm hearing all this other stuff, we're trying to get every other player. So forget them all be pretty nice. We're in the position A. I hear mixed reports. Call them to me talking about the draft being a good draft. She and then I hear other reports that's not a great draft and particularly out of Western Australia. I'm a bit confused. There's always that talk of, "Oh, it's a good draft or it's a bad draft." And I think it doesn't, like, that reflects the best five players. I think that people say the draft talent or the pool depth isn't great. You're always going to say that you always find talent no matter what. You're always going to get a guy at pick 40 who has a surprising career and isn't all Australian at some point. And yeah, I don't buy into that. There's good talent everywhere. And it's not necessarily about the player at that time. It's the system they go into, the coaches they've got, the development, they're allowed to have under an AFL system. So yeah, I don't read too much into good draft. Bad draft. McCaffay coffee chat. Grab 24 chicken McNuggets for 9.95. Get more free money at Macca's and Jon's now. The airline staff are calling for Hamish Bracial to help out the scooping. And Addy's had to say on the other one. Nice work by that. Let's go to a break. Come back. Simon Garlic announcing just a long meals extension. It wasn't last year. It was March 14 this year. Actual reason I'm down here, guys, is I'm absolutely pumped to let you know that in the club of jail, the grades of contract extension to jail at the end of 2025. [Applause] [Applause] Coming up after 6.30 on this day for today, Hamish's favourites. Yep. But on the 19th day of July, today you know anyone born on this day? Nope. OK. Jesse Dart, last couple of weeks. I'll have to have a word to him. Yeah. Need to get a word to him. Because yeah, yeah. I've received texts from people. Yeah. Last couple of weeks. He's last couple of weeks having been good, but you just go again. And I know he will. He'll find a way. Jesse. Our tips for base compression, I still need by two. Celine Dion performed on this day. [MUSIC] They're going to be games in 1996. She's got some stiff disease or something. Have you seen these vineyards? I haven't. She's unwell. Terribly unwell where she sort of goes into a stiffness of something and she lies there and she like really looks really unwell. Well, we sure are all the best. Yeah, I hope it's not a good day. [LAUGHTER] Anyway. And on this day, Mick Fanning, of course, was attacked by a shark. As you look at Fanning on the rankings, you can see it. A little splash. Oh, it's probably... Excuse me. Fanning eating some assistance. He's swimming into the beach. As we sound the horn to stop the final, Fanning with a thumbs up, he is okay. His leash chewed off. Right. He shakes this one on years ago. That was... Aren't the hawk. That was terrifying. Yeah. It's one of those, "Where are you watching?" And you're thinking, "What was going on there?" And they were there. Yeah, what's that? Yeah. Calling for assistance, all right? It's a shark. It's a shark. Oh, boy. Thank you. The medical name for her little-known illness is Stiff person syndrome, SPS. It's a neurological condition that causes muscles to spasm. The vision of her being unwell is really quite confronting. Wow. And on this day, news just came through overnight, that after a bit of a battle, Bob Newhart, American host and comedian, passed away at the age of 94. Here's a bit of his best work in 2003 with Elf. There are only three jobs available to an Elf. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old, the old cobbler sleeps. Lazy bum couldn't even make a clog. You can bake cookies in a tree. As you can imagine, it's dangerous having an old tree during the dry season. I want to make shoes. But the third job, some call it the show or the big dance, it's the profession that every elf inspires to me. And that is to build toys. Yeah? No, not the dark, not the dark. So, oh, it's like it's the dark. Jessie Dart joins us. Monica Cost turns 57 on December 2nd. You're happy birthday, Mon. Yeah, in advance. Yeah. Best nights. Well, I'm all of those in, so I get a chance to express my love. There you go. All righty. Jessie, good morning. Morning, Gus. Yeah, good morning, Jessie. How are you? Okay, so how much can go first? And then I'm going to read you a text from someone else. Go ahead, Hammer. Right, I've been in the studio a couple of times in the last month, came in here and flying. Now, there's going to be some things coming out of Tim Gossages' mouth soon that might not be overly supportive. But, mate, I'll back you into the hills. Don't you worry about that. I was saying to Gus before. And don't worry about what-- You know, you can only play the cards that you dealt, and I'm backing you in to bounce back. So don't worry about whatever else you're about to say. Appreciate it, Hammer. And Gus, changing like the wind. Two of them for us. Exactly. Okay, Paul Hays will be texting me on Saturday at 443. Sorry, mate. Total transparency. I have backed Jessie Dart's tips for the last two weeks. What's happened? Oh, boy. Gamble is both of them. Hey, as a bit of a go there. No, I think these things happen. We're in the middle of July, we're in the middle of winter. It's fun and it's a good time. It's around as fun as it is coming on here after a good Saturday tip in performance. But that's out of those two. Happened all the other Saturdays without luck. Do happen. I think that was the case in the last couple of weeks. All right, let's get our teeth into it. It is Belmont Classic Day. And Belmont tomorrow. Soft five as it stands right now. A little bit of rain around. It might get a little bit worse, but not too much. Give us just three best. We've got a feeling of a bounce back here. We can keep people still following, mate. Well, given Hays, it's so impatient. I better get started early. So going in race number one, with Taifu and Harry Bradengard claiming to for Jimmy Taylor. This horse is just a brilliant three-year-old. He's a fast three-year-old. He loves your thousand meters. He was dominant in his last campaign when he won't fall on the bounce. And this is a really nice race to try something different with him because they've got the likes of Cheeky Charlton sensation who will only want the fans. So I can see Gartier just sitting behind that leading pair who will go hard, presenting at the right time and running a good race of it. He should be ahead of Doka's grin, who's a key rival in this race. As much as I respect Doka's grin, I think he's going to make a very nice horse in time. Just wonder how far back he's going to get and how strong that form is that he's coming out of because he's beaten them easily in his last two starts in middleweight company. But I'm not really sure there's a black caviar in that field, or certainly a horse that's going to go on and she comes to that next level. So, type in Harry for me in the opening race. I think it's a really good set up here. What a great way to start race one, number one. Yeah, Jesse Dard, where do we go next? Cavvy seeing this one with obviously Price is key here, but race number seven, the Belmont classic. Probably give a tip to listeners. I think it's a pretty straightforward one with Petruka. She did everything right in the Belmont. Gimme's when running on behind Love and War. She did everything better in the Belmont. Oh, she went running past Love and War. She's very, very tough. She looks like she wants more than this 2020 remade, which we don't always get in Australia these days, but she's by more than ready. So, potentially not a huge surprise there. Willie Pike says on Love and War, who is probably the best wanted beat to come out of the race. And I'm not really sure that we rate you form line through the boys and that group of three-year-old buildings is going to be able to take them on here. So, for me, Petruka pretty much picks herself in this race, but in terms of keeping a black top race, always nice to give that one out. So, Petruka should get his job done there for me. Love it, mate. Don't worry about it. Gosh, he's looking at me like, "Oh, he's tipped the favourite." Come on, you've still got to be able to pick him. And he has. Race seven, number six. All righty, come on, Dart. You've got two more. Two more. One more race, but you've got two races to pick from. That's true. I have, wow, ice picnic in the lucky last, Stephen Parnum riding for new trainers to find the Hala. His horse is at a stable change. Initially, I was going to pick his rock and rip it in this race. Who has been kind to me in the past. But when you look through the form guide here, rock and rip it coming through a 66 plus, where he won very nicely off a very soft barrier. But the last time he was in a 72 plus, which is about four starts ago, he was beaten fair and square by a number of horses, including the second place ice picnic, who has form around the men. All that form lines up and he's got barrier five. That's a great barrier in this build, I think, when they're going to run along and he just gets that nice suck into that first half of the field presented the right time. I think he's a very strong winning chair. He's got a really strong place chance as well. All righty, so that's race nine number seven. And your three metal lockers get the job done over here on Sunday afternoon. Well, hopefully, the two rocks have become an essential part of our game planned out, then, without Sean Darcy, we look to really struggle against Lloyd Meek down in Tazzy last week. Hopefully, they've recovered from their flight. I hope they can get the job done on Sunday. Nice work. You're a good man, real Jesse Dart. We love you, mate. Devanist, the live support. Hazelby and Hamish Bracer have jumped off. Hey. Oh, I'm 100% supportive of you, mate. Go well. Appreciate that, God, thank you. There he is, Jesse Dart. Good man, Jesse. Yes, all righty. So, he's race one, number one, race seven, number six, and race nine, number seven. So, the combinations are 11, 76, 97. Do you understand that? Cool, do I understand that? Well, a lot of people don't get it, mate, when I say that. So, I'm saying people go, "What race is it?" I just write 11, 11, one, one, 76, 76, 97. Thank you. There you go. Not that hard. A lot of people don't get it. No, but that's okay. You just got to explain it. Hey, time to do this. We'll dig away. No, no, dig up, stupid. Before you dig, lodge a free inquiry online. Now, is this a combo dig? Are we comboing digging? I will let you dig this to start with, because I have to go to work after this. So, you're boss. You're boss and he's a long time mate of mine and part owner of horses with me has shares in a horse called Made in Mexico. I've heard of that. That was in the winter circuit today at Pinchara, wasn't it? Wednesday. Wednesday, yeah. No, I heard of that. Race one, number one. Yeah. Didn't get the text. Didn't get that text. Did you? No. No. So, so Frank Agostino, pay wise, head, honcho, main man. On the board at East Perth, too, love Frank. East Perth board. No round of football club president. No tip. No tip for Made in Mexico. Snubders. Tips, tips, not sleep space, Frank. We don't want to see the photos after. And, you know, I'm so happy. And, oh, there's my, there's my two and a half percent right there. And I'm absolutely thrilled to pick up a, you know, lazy couple of hundred dollars. That's not how it operates, mate. Friendships alone. Exactly. Thank you very much. So, there it is there. My, my dig is for Frank Agostino and the lack of friendship and care for your friend. So, here you go. Pay wise, punt wise, share your mates. Yeah. And you'd be asking for all your investments back if you had have lost. Anyway, you, my dig is no Thursday night footy. I hate it. I think about it every time that there's Thursday night. I'm not digging the fact that there is no. I'm digging the AFL, obviously. But the broadcast deals, the rest of it. Just play a game Thursday night. I hope going forward that it's all the time. Because it just... That's your players. The players are the ones who... Nah. Yeah. They don't want to since they're right. I'm digging at the players and I'm digging at everyone who is against Thursday night footy. Agree. It's the best thing ever to sit home on the couch Thursday night and just be able to go, "How good is this? I've got work tomorrow, but it doesn't feel like work because I've already sat and watched footy." Hundred percent. It's just awesome. It's so good. Don't dig blind search before you dig online every time. Byda.com.au. And just quickly is nutrient water, four day forecast, your destination for all things water. Possible morning shower today, 17. Look at you. You're an animal I'm coming for you. Come on. Let's get some tips away. All righty. Let's get our teeth into these tips. Let's start tonight. Essendon Adelaide. Gonna go through our ins and outs. Just in long, we were joins us in this hour. Half hour too. So don't go anywhere for our fans. If you're looking for it now. There's some big changes here. Love that. The Frenchman in Goldstein and Menzie signed a contracting extension yesterday. And the, if the Axis got him. Hepple. Gone. Peter Wright. Gone. Nick Heind. Gone. Adelaide. Taylor Walker managed. No. Dropped. And Mitch Hinge in. Nice. Hingey boy. My guy. That's a big, that's a couple of axings for the, for the Don's. Big. Brad Scott swinging it. Who have you gone? Ahh. Essendon win easy. I just don't think they do. I'm the only one that's tipped Adelaide on. You are the only one that's tipped Adelaide on. I have said. I did say this in a rage on Monday though. That I'm never tipping Essendon again. You can change. You're not going to change. How the Adelaide can't win there. It's under the roof. Well, that's all right. Essendon and rubbish. Essendon and knock her. Essendon and rubbish. Why Radlight? Good. Essendon will bundle out of the eight from here. You watch. Toby Bedford remains with the GWS Giants because he got off at those three weeks thrown out. Oh, Halloran in for Kineelio. Weller back for his first game. Good to have him back, David Swallow. And Alex Sexton. Great survivors. Ben Ainsworth is injured. David suspended Rosas. Also suspended again. All righty. GWS, NG Stadium Gold Coast. Who have you tipped? GWS. You've tipped GWS here. I am-- Vlog on for GWS. I am going to change light in the piece and go the Gold Coast Suns to respond. I think-- Changed it. I am just changing. I need to throw some stumps down here and really have a crack at it. But look. And throw a cut. 180s. Phil Taylor Star, Michael Van Goor and Jesse Dart. I need to get up and get going. So I will tip the Gold Coast Suns. I think they'll respond after dimmers giving them a good clip away. All righty. There you go. So three of us have gone for GWS and the Gold Coast Suns. Yesterday, I did this. They can't win St. Kineelio. I think-- What's the maybe happier for West Coast to blow them out of the water? It will happen. I'm telling you. It will happen. You're tipping West Coast. 100% have all week. I've got a couple of laid-outs. Paul on the text. I am predicting backflip incoming from Goss. That's what he thinks. You're in a reverse. Out of your part. You're going to-- you've parked. And now you think, hang on a minute. There's a few outs here. I might just pull out. 100%? And you are going to, aren't you? Oh, I did not expect Jake Waterman and Elliot to be missing. You're going to-- you're not tipping. You're going with the Saints, are you? So, Stocker, Bradley Hill, game 250, and Hugo Garcia, the Mexican. He's in. Filipro injured. That's big. Pattern out Schoonmaker, or as Mark van Popper would say. Schoonmaker, the Dutchman. You say Schoonmaker. Cheser, Petrocelli, Rothon, and Kali in. Duggin injured. Waterman injured. Yo injured. Brockman injured. That's a concern for me, West Coast. I was-- and I think playing all the kids is absolutely 100% right, but I am absolutely concerned that there's no Elliot Yo in the midfield and no Jake Waterman up forward. So, you flip. Now you've-- you're going with the Saints, eh? I'm going for the Saints. I still think West Coast beta. You do. You've got-- I think synchura are average. Oh, they're terrible, mate. But, by the way, I'll just worry. And I hope I'm wrong. I actually-- So do I. So do I. I've tipped every game against you. I'll be three back. I hope I'm wrong. OK? Go on then. Really down the mighty Coasters. So Paul, you are-- Paul is a-- he-- he costs your numbers, too, Paul. He's blind. That's Christani. He's blind, right? Cannot say. Completely blind. That's what blind means, yep. Typically. No. Well, yeah, more. No, that means after a win, he's Perth, you're blind. [LAUGHS] Not true. [LAUGHS] It's not true. I'll have to be here until the end of the year. Hey, really? Yeah. I am. Darling. Oh, yeah. I told him this one. I haven't had a beer in a couple of months. Good on you. Yeah. Good on you. She's on Thursday. Brad Hill-- Brad Hill-Gardavonna. I'm 250, 100%. Oh, god, yeah. Preserving-- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. --preserving of the Gardavonna. Yep, no, absolutely. And so there already, I'll be-- I'll be awkward after a loss. Yeah. You out walking for West Coast. Have to forget about it. Let's just wander off. Meander. Righty. Hawthorne Collingwood. Let's get into our tips for this game right here. McGinnison Ginnovan. Two begins for the Hawks. Mackenzie's been managed. We had him on the show. And Harry Morrison, the sub, has been omitted. McStay, Howe, and Sullivan Inn for Harrison, Shultz, and Framden. Harvey Harrison managed Billy Frampton omitted place. Yeah. Just say admitted. Just exactly. Well, I mean, you look at that managed. If Harvey Harrison's on match payments, he would get one. Is that how it works? If you're admitted, you don't get match payments. If you injured or managed, then you do. OK, there you go. It's probably all to do with contracts. Feeding a little bit of cash into the back pocket for your Harrison. Hawthorne Collingwood. So Scotty's gone Collingwood. I've gone whore. You've gone Hawthorne at this stage. Hayes has gone Hawthorne. I think Hawthorne. Yeah, so do I. I like the Hawks. I think they're a real deal. And they're going to storm home into the eight. All right. It's long-wet versus Western Bulldogs. This game is at GMHBA Stadium. Mitch Nevert Inn for Jay Clark. Trellor and Norton. Two big inns for the Bulldogs. Gallyga and Garcia have both been omitted for the dogs. At this stage, we've all gone for the Cats. Yep. You've gone Cats. Scotty Cats. Hayes Cats. I've gone Cats. Yeah, they're a real contender. This year, but I once again need to throw out the stump. So I'm going to change light and go. The doggies. I think the dogs of his cats. Dogs always win. I had a little cat. She was a whatever. And then my dog just went rough. And got her. So I think the dogs will bounce back and they're going to. They're just, they're very, very, very, very, very good one week. And then average as anything the next week. And I hope that this is a week where they're just good. Port Adelaide host Richmond. Radiglia Georgiardi's Rioli who was here last week. Yeah. And Williams, I thought that was good by Port. Yep. I thought they allowed him to come back for the, for the Simo Fairwell and the 28 sort of reunion, not reunion. But get together for the Simo. Lucky Jones injured. Farrell injured. Marshall injured. Finlace and injured. Quentin Armco place. He's 58 of our game. Campbell. Dow. Caleb Smithall in for the Tigers. Lost and injured. Toronto injured. Graeme. It's a lot of experience. Go on. A lot of youth back. It's going to be real tough to tip the dogs here. Very much so. I will be. This is the first time in the hour. I'll have to go Port. You can't go anywhere else. You'd be banned from the tipping company. No, I'm going Port, obviously. Yeah. All righty. Now the game of the round is no doubt this one. This is in Brisbane. Starthovich, Robinson and Henry Smith. If Henry Smith plays, it'll be his debuts. So no outs at this stage for Brisbane who we saw here last week. Charlie Cameron returns his spot. Sydney, the inns. Cunningham, Heaney, Corey Warner. Caleb Mitchell, Aaron Francis and Sam. I didn't even know Sam Reed was still on the list. Macadurni injured, Mills one game back. Managed and James Road bottom injured. Some out. Big outs there. Big outs for the Swannies. Who are you tipping here? I'm tipping Brisbane. Brisbane. Yep. Everyone else has gone for Sydney. Yeah, see. I was going to say, I was hoping you would go Sydney because then I want to flim Brisbane, mate. Yeah. But I still think Sydney are the best team. They are. By a long way. I know that. Brisbane, Hamish. I understand that it's in Brisbane, yeah. But they're still pretty good Sydney. And I think Sydney would win that game. Okay. Sydney for everyone and I've gone for Brisbane. Alex Pearce, Sean Darcy, Brandon Walker, Will Brody in for Fremont of Josh Draper is out. Emitted coming to town Melbourne. Billings, Tomlinson, Laurie and Fullerton, Targeway warden is out. Tom Fullerton, if he plays it, he's the butt. Freio in. Freio in? All of us have agreed that Freio will win that game. Why do you think Freio in? I just think that midfield is better. I think the back line is really, really strong against Melbourne's forward line. And no one's forward line are a bit of an issue. Melbourne's defence is probably their best line at the moment. And I think Fremont's young and gun forwards are going to have a real good day. We're not going to waste too much time on the last game of the round. But Motlop Hewitt, Cunningham, Carolyn Durden in. Kemp's been omitted. Williams has been injured for Carlton. Fisher, Stavinson, Logan's back for his first game. Will Phillips and Hanson Jr. The boy from Sooby Curtis Hart has been dropped and Callan Dawson also being dropped. Carlton, when easy? They do. And looking at this, if all my four curveballs get up, I'll make all it's got. Yeah, that's fantastic. And I'm going to get five back on you. Naughty says, "Hammer, are you an intelligent and a natural media talent?" Naughty's a good man. "Do you see yourself continuing to grow your media career after your illustrious waffle career ends?" Thanks, Naughty. That's not a bad man. Okay. Naughty. Nice. Might as well just have to take my jumper off. Let's get a bit on in here. Look, Naughty, I enjoy it. As long as Tim will keep having me in on it every now and then. Yeah, but you've got a lot of strings to your bow. You pop up in a lot of places. I try my best, yeah. Yeah, I enjoy it. You would be cool what I call a media tart. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? Well, you're not in a bad way. You've got to focus. Eventually you'll have to focus. All these media outlets where you are cutting your teeth on are allowing you to just do a really good job. You sit in the oven and just grow. You grow it? Yes, it may help. But hey, I'll lay claim to, I picked you first. Yep. And then the end's got a hold of you. Backchat got a hold of you. Tell you I'd be radio got a hold of you. Seven got a hold of you. All right. Look at you. Gosh, you're down. Hey, man, I can pick him. He's going to wait for the ummaking. Just letting you all know. That's going to come in about. Yeah, there it is. You could tell. Gee whiz. Justin Longmeer's coming up next. He's another one I nurtured. Just way through. Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho. If you're coming to the footy on Sunday, don't forget the new and improved SCN stadium is available. You listen to the SCN called Zero Delay, the ultimate game day experience. Just go to the SCN app and tap on me and I'll provide you with ball by ball, kick by kick, injuries, breaking news around the grounds. Chris Plafoona's working the boundary line. You just do it all day. Me do. And Paul Hayes will be there and he's a gun as well. Free amount of us is Melbourne up to stadium. And of course, it is the Starlight Purple Hayes game. So if you're coming to the game, don't forget you can donate via the website. Buy a wand or a beanie to support Starlight. The free mail lockers have always done the Starlight Purple Hayes game so well. Another big week for the footy club. Big week for Justin Longmeer, the coach. Chance to bounce back after their trip to Tassie. Justin, appreciate your time. Good morning. No worries, guys. Appreciate having me on. Yeah, no, thank you. Hey, did you go to the toilet at any stage on the trip back from Tassie? Toiletgate. I think I went early. Yeah, this is my explainer, he thinks. No, just joking. No, I didn't. Yeah, I had to go as soon as we got off. So yeah, it wasn't ideal. I think Joe already spoke about it yesterday. Yeah. So I feel we'll do whatever they can to make sure it doesn't happen again. Chance to bounce back against Melbourne, of course, here, which is at home. Give me the positive out of the loss to Fremantle. Yeah, so I thought we competed well. I thought we expressed it well. I just think in those tight games, when low inside 50 counts for both teams, it's about who makes the most opportunities. It's disappointed with the way we defended. And inside our D50, and I think there's some goals, we should have been able to stop. And then at the other end, we didn't call our capital laws on some of their opportunities. And in the end, there was a difference in the game. So I think over the last six, eight weeks, we've been pretty good with our scoring. And I hope it's just a little blip on the radar, not taking those opportunities. Longie, when you're a couple of goals down, and you're probably looking at the clock, and you think it's five minutes of game time to go, do coaches, do you roll the dice? Do you get a message out? I just don't know if it's as simple as that. But you can't really control what the opposition is doing. But can you control, boys, we're going to take this game on, we're going to change things up. Because we do see some teams who are behind to make charges late, or it might be 10 goals down at three quarter time, and try to crack in, and do something a bit different. Do you have that sort of coaching box mentality at times? Oh, yeah, yeah, and we try a few things. Be good to be able to get your hands on the ball. And late, late in the game, they were just really good in the contest. We couldn't get our hands on as often as we would like. They know it really good at locking the ball in, and getting stoppage after stoppage. And then I think when you're down late in the game, you want to be a bit of chaos, and you want to keep the ball alive as much as you can, and they're really good at doing the opposite, and then locking it away, and making it a stoppage game, and keeping the ball in close. We did push-topsie forward, which was given Sicily, marked it on the goal line, probably was in the right call. It would be nice to have him there to get that through, but we'd put him forward to try and equalize the game, and make it an even-numbered contest in our front half, and see if we could get a mark, where we just couldn't get it there enough, and yeah, the Hawks finished off the game better than us in those tight situations. JL, I mean, it got set up before. It's the stalact game. I think you guys do that better than anyone in terms of the players. I watch all the social stuff that comes out. They connect with the kids. They celebrate on game day. It puts life and footy into perspective pretty quickly. Do you reckon that the players sort of, I think it's a good week for it to come after a loss? Do you reckon it has any impact on your guys going out there that regardless of a win loss, you spend a bit of time in this situation with these kids? I find you guys always play better after it, and the players get a bit out of it. Did you talk about that throughout the week, or is it just go and do your charity stuff, and then get out and play going? I think the stalact stuff is really, really organic, and it's hard to say whether we get a lift out of it for one week, but I think over the journey, having players were really grateful and for the opportunity that they get, and they're really grateful for what they can do in the community. I think it's only a good thing for a footy club, and a good thing for developing young men to be able to... Yeah, you see a real care for the kids that come down, you see a real care for this cause amongst our footy club, but really amongst the playing group. We've said it a few times this year, it's one thing that our players really get behind, and they don't need any pushing for me or the club to get behind it, so yeah, it's a great thing. Very much so stalact people haze game on Sunday, of course, and good luck to young image and Smith, who's going to run out with the team and toss the coin on the weekend. I'm interested by Michael Walters. I open up the show here today, and we had him on the show last week, and he says, "I love being the sub, everyone else is getting tired, "and 30 odd years of age, I can run around and do something great." I'm concerned about lack of game time for him over the last month and a bit, one in the hamstring, then two weeks out, the limited field time in the last couple of weeks. I mean, are you prepared to tell our listeners today that he's going to be in the 23? He's going to be in the 23. Yeah, he's going to be in the 23. likelihood is he's going to be sub again. And yeah, that's something we're going to have to manage, because it's a bit of a concern for us. But last week, we thought he gave us the best chance of winning, and he could come on late and bring a bit of class to the game and finish his work off, which he's proven he can do as sub and did it the week before. And then this week, the decision came down, the appeal don't have a game. And we think the same thing in terms of him being able to come on and add a bit of class and everyone's tired and we can get the ball in his hands. He can finish off like he did against the Tigers when he came on and keep the couple of goals in the second half. So we're going to have to manage it though. And yeah, like I said to him next week, next week, so we'll work out what we do after this game. I'm sure you'll probably say you expected good things because you're the coach. But the rise that everyone has seen out of Josh Tracy this year has been massive. Did you peg him at the start of the year to have this sort of impact? Or how have you seen his year? I mean, he's coming up against two of the better defenders in the competition, and this is going to be a really big week for him. But he's just seemed to have grown out of sites from the start of the year now. Yeah, he has. And I'll probably put it down to him taking his opportunities more this year. And that's probably with his marking contest in particular. I think last year we saw the work rate. We saw their death to get some contested contest. And back in the last year, he had some really good games. He just probably didn't finish off his work, whether that was in front of goal, whether that was just being able to take those marks that he gets to his ends to. He did a pair of work to work on his fitness and work on that marking craft. And he's just been able to get clunked on a lot of contested marks. And he's been really accurate in front of goal, which has been nice. So I mean, obviously I've seen him build over the last four years into this top place. And I see him go to work every day. So it doesn't really come as his prize to me. But I can understand what everyone externally is seeing. And yeah, he's still got plenty of growth in him as well. Love the way he's growing his leadership on and off the field. I think he's going to be a player that's going to find himself here in the leadership group in years to come as well. Yeah, he's putting a lot of young players on his back at the moment, Josh Tracy, and he's only young himself. Alex Pierce is back huge. I mean, soon as he was available, you were going to pick him, which is not great for Josh Draper, but it's all a learning curve for him. Sean Darcy comes back in and you've got a real chance. I know Melbourne went small and didn't replace Gorn with a Ruckman last week and they went with Van Roy and predominantly and he was pretty good and petty. But they have named Fullerton and he could debu. What's your vibe on their Ruck stocks? And you get a chance, to be honest, with no Max Gorn to really get this combination to work in Darcy and Jackson. Yeah, oh, yeah, it's a great advantage for us. But as you said, again, since then last week, they're able to win the clearances. And I think they're able to congest the clearances with extra numbers. And I think, yeah. So we've got to have some strategies in place, because as you know, it's not just about, you know, hitting outs. That doesn't necessarily transfer into field position. So we've got to be able to come up with some strategies to be able to nullify their numbers and make sure that, yeah, we can turn that Ruck dominance into field position. It's going to be a big part of the game. And last week they were able to really nullify Draper in particular in the Ruck. And then you're nullify F and mid-zero ground level. So we've got some work to do to make sure that, yeah, we can, we can get field position from our stoppage work. Y'all thought our mids were probably a little bit reactive last week around clearance. So we need to make sure that when teams come with different strategies, we're still proactive and we still get a movement right. And we're able to ask questions in opposition. Jay, I don't want you to say anything that'll get you in trouble with the AFL. But have you had to change the way you guys approach tackle training? With how you talk about it, how you discuss it, how you implement it on the game, and what's had to change this year on the back of what you're saying with the suspensions in the tribunals? If anything. Yeah, well, we've been evolving the tackle changes for a couple of years now, because I think these rules and these suspensions have been in play for a while. Yeah, we lost the colour players through the middle of last year when they had a bit of a crackdown on it. I think Jago Miro was one against Melbourne. At the MCG, he got suspended for a week. I think the thing that's woken everyone up a little bit is the length of the suspensions and where obviously they got off last night. But the length of these suspensions, they used to be used to be a one-weeker, maybe a two-weeker in like the serious situations. But yeah, for the NRO to classify both those tackles in three weeks, there's a bit of an eye out there, to be honest. And yeah, I understand the talk about the tackling. But I also feel like at times last week, the guy winning the ball in our game in particular wasn't given the time for it to be able to get rid of the ball. So we've got to make sure that it's a heavily contested game. We've got to make sure that we reward the guy trying to win the ball. And then yeah, I can understand them trying to protect the head. So we'll do everything we can to try and make sure our players don't put themselves in those positions when they're tackling the opposition. Last couple before, let's go. We appreciate your time, Lonnie. Lee and Baker met with Bratiaur and Sorong. Hamish knew nothing about it. Andrew Bratiaur, Caleb Sorong met with Lee and Baker. Why? Yeah, that's a blunt question. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Justin. Not really going to talk about opposition players, Gus. Clearly said that if Liam's willing to come home or wants to come home, we'll be an interested party. And that's as far as I can go in that conversation. Fair call, fair call. Expectation, home tied at the top, second through to 13th. Any combination, every game is just so important, is it not? So you've got to have your focus in place for the weekend. What's your expectation of the bounce back for your free-o fans on a very special day for the footy type against a good team in Melbourne? Yeah, it would be like I said before. Yeah, it starts with the contest for us, contest and the amount of pressure we can put on. No, I think that's where we got them last time we played. Everyone talks about the scoreboard at the end of the day, but our contest and our pressure was where it started that day. Yeah, we're under no illusion that we'd need to bring that again. And a lot of mention, we won't play the game in our front half and stop the work in our ball use and all those things are being important. But get the game played the way we want in the contest and in our front half. We'll create plenty of opportunities for ourselves. Before you walk away from the phone, we've had a number, and I mean, a number of people to say the word going around the traps, Justin, is that you have signed or about to sign a contract extension. And we played the audio of Simon Garlic back in March, announcing that we're coaching to the end of 2025 minimum, and that will be a work in progress going forward. Can you confirm or deny that you're about to agree to a contract extension beyond 2025? It's used to me, guys. It's used to me. Thank you, Justin. All right, appreciate it. Have a great day. And I'll add all the best on Sunday, big day for the footy club on the field. As for the Starlight Foundation, mate, always good to chat. Thanks, guys. Thanks, Omsh. Say, oh, yeah, Justin, long we are. Just got to ask a question. Got to ask a question. Yeah. What's with that? I mean, yeah. What's with all this? Why does people need to extend? Why does everyone just play the contract out and get to the end of it? I'm not sold on why everyone needs to commit three years before their contract finishes. Yeah. You see what happened with, it just happens all the time that that happens in disaster strikes in the end. Yeah. Can you keep him on edge, I say? Hang him out there. You do ask the hard hitters, don't you, guys? You've got to be asked. It has to be. You know, and he gave good answers. You know exactly what you're going to get, but you just bodyface slip up. Yeah. That's what you just live for. It's planning on a break though. I think he had me covered 25 away from it. We'll get some news to come back. And we're just going to chew the fat on a whole range of footy issues still to come. And I want to play you something. The Jared Scofield had to do yesterday in his pre-travel press conference with the WA media. Hammer and Goss 25 to 8. Yeah. We're still obviously finalizing things, as we say. But we'll look to Patrick Shelley. We'll come into the side. We'll look at that. And Jai Kully, Jake Waterman. Yeah, no. He'll have a week off. Yeah, he's got these bean obviously. Managing an ITB issue. So we think that having a week off is the right thing for him. Who can we expect to see on the plane? Who do you expect to see on the plane? You'll see the team from last week. And you'll definitely see, you know, some familiar faces in Domshire and Archery. We'll be playing this week. Will he be playing this week? Easy for the team. Oh, he's in the squad. He's in the squad. Scotty and Goss, Hamish Bracer in the chair. Thanks to Justin Longfield. Got great reaction there. He's pretty straight and to the point and pretty open and transparent with his answers. Time to do this. Get discounted prescriptions and save a whole lot more money at Chemist Warehouse. Chris Puffunas with a sports update. Good morning. The Open Championship got underway yesterday and you guys were very, very... Glued. Yeah, keen on it all over it. It's the best tournament of the lot. I can have all your other Mickey Mouse American shit. How American stuff? How is it though? You're right. It actually looks like a challenge for the players that they're cooking it and they're just like, you look at Chemist Smith. Yeah, he's won. And he's nine over now. Nine over. Rory, seven over. Yeah. Tiger. It's great. I love seeing these guys. Absolutely suffer. Just like we do on a regular course. And Daniel Brando is a big boy, big unit. He's six under. Shane Lowry, five under. Then you've got some big names in Thomas and Hoigard and Noren and Rose and Henley at Shofle. They're all sort of two and three under. Yeah. Adam Scott, the best placed Aussie at one under Minwoo. He's even. Solid. I'm going to be very solid. It was a bit shaky for a moment but he studied and they are not his conditions because he just blasts it down there. Yeah. We've won the Scottish Open a couple of years ago. Yeah, good point. Conditions. Hey, Hammer. Thank you. Jason Day. He's two over and 73. It was Smiley, five over. Jasper Stubbs the other Aussie nine over. As well alongside Chemist Smith. As we mentioned is on 80 at nine over. Just to recap that top story from last night that Charlie Cameron and Toby Bedford have had their respective three match suspensions overturned on appeal. So they'll be free to play this weekend. Had a bit of cricket news. Cam Bankroft's best T20 blast performance yet has kept alive his side. Gloucestershire's hopes of reaching the quarter final stage of the T20 blast. Did you know this competition was going on? Yeah. How good is it that bangers is? Well, it's sort of good. Except he's not playing for the scorches anymore. So. So why am I ringing it up? You're right. We love him. We love bang. Well, we do. But he's not playing for Perth anymore. That doesn't matter, mate. We're one on. 87 from 54. Hussey didn't play, Caddish didn't play. Sean Marsh is not, you know, they're all played, but then all gone off to the right points. You just, Josh, Philip, he doesn't want to play with us at any level now. [LAUGHTER] He could point. So he's dead to us. He's dead to us. He's dead to us. We can, right? We can, we'll avoid any mentions of, uh, of Flip. But yeah, you're right. Bangers, he's, um. I love bang. He's a WA boy throwing through and throwing his mind up with us. Get discounted prescriptions and save more money every day at chemist warehouse as well. It's 20 away from eight o'clock now on Sunday. You are on the boundary for Melbourne versus Freemantle. And we have got, yeah, baby, the world's longest preview. Yeah, we're starting on Saturday. [LAUGHTER] We'll be there. We'll be there right on. Wow. Sleeping bags and tents will be out there on Optus. Yeah, so if you're looking for something to listen to on Sunday while you're, you know, not doing a lot, they're not from 11 o'clock. We're going to be on here. 11 o'clock. What time's the game? Uh, four o'clock. [LAUGHTER] 20 past one. Wow. Yeah. Previews. The players aren't even there yet. Oh, they definitely won't be. All right. I mean, the bosses are listening. We can't wait to be there. Oh, yeah, it's going to get-- Wow. We've got to have a couple of on these days throwing in. Yeah. You know, it was good, though. Monica's, well, Monica 11 on the birthday. [LAUGHTER] I just love you a chat. Why get a run? Yeah, play the whole thing. Yeah, definitely going to get three times a couple of times. 11, 11, 45, and 140. [LAUGHTER] Our chat with Tim Kelly, the week was very good. Yeah, but the game would have been gone, mate, so we won't be playing that. Yeah, but it was that good. More free playing. [LAUGHTER] To play the best bits of the week. So we're going to have-- No, that'd be good. It's going to be good fun, because I think we'll catch up with a couple of-- we'll catch up with an assistant coach for a minute. Well, it's going to be good. Really good. Fun. It's going to be great fun. Oh, I have foundation. And Eagles Nation. Worlds collide. Goss. The combined pre-show. Who's in the show? Who's doing the pre-show? Hayes. Well, Scotty's away. We know that. So not Scotty. Hey. Yeah. Jimmy. Yeah. Oh, there you go. Come with it. Yourself. You're in there. And I'll be there looking at the ground and saying, given a pitch report. We'll have-- no, on a serious note, we're going to have a guess. So from 11 o'clock, if you're coming for the-- This is coming from both sides. --from both sides. So we'll catch up with someone from the Fremantle Dockers and the Melbourne Diamonds. This is what-- this is-- I've been just handed our lineup for what we've got. We've got Caleb Sirrong joining us. Good. Knap 5. That's huge. Max Gorn. This is-- I think, but it's going to come on. This is massive. His protractor is going to join us from his deathbed. [LAUGHTER] [INAUDIBLE] Hey, look at these are some of the names we're going to have on the preview. Yeah, from 11 o'clock. Make sure you're listening to us. Hang us, Rachel. Hang us, Rachel. He's going to Skype in. [LAUGHTER] Zoom in. Andrew, Rachel is going to come up to the box. Yeah, huge shot. That's going to be massive. They've done some great producing on this. They have Joel and Heder. Get discounted prescriptions that save more money every day at Chemist Warehouse. Now, this week on inspiring sports stories, which I love, so you'll catch that on Sunday, a couple of hours for an hour on Sunday, and you can catch it on the podcast. Catch up is Tony Knott, who has a buy this week, but next week, if he plays, will be the number one game record holder at Swan District Flipbook. Now, Tony Knott, one, I think it was Governor Sterling, he went to with Nick Knott. And I handed out their graduation. Yes. I was at part of the Western Front. They wanted someone there. So, while he was the guest speaker and presenter. Yep. So, Nick Knott and Tony Knott. And Tony hadn't played AFL football that stage, played the odd game for West Coast. And now he's played the 300 waffle games. Tell me the Tony Knott story. It's unbelievable. He is-- I mean, to play 300 games of AFL football, people say he's a really good effort, which it is. But you get in paid half a million bucks minimum, and it's a great effort. To play 300 games of waffle football as a part-time gig, everything he's after hours, Swan Districts is a million years away from everything else. To do that and play at the level that he has is remarkable. And he is such a-- we change-- when we play Swan Districts and he's playing, you have to change the way you kick the ball inside Ford 50, because otherwise he just takes a mark. He can jump over packs. He's so-- He doesn't look-- Still? Yeah, still. He doesn't look strong, but he is. He's just sort of so long. Everything he-- he inspects a gadget. He just is so dangerous down there and has been for such a long time. And to get to that level of 300 games as a waffle-- playing waffle is so hard to do for a long time. It is-- it's from-- you have to do an AFL schedule in three nights a week after working nine to five. And it's an incredible effort. He's a star. He's one of the great blokes of football. And it's a very, very well-deserved record that he's about to break. Well said. So he's going to have three guards of honors in one season, then essentially, isn't he? So he's got 300 games, the equally in the games record, and then breaking the games record. And well-deserved for everyone on a total mark. It's a quarter to eight. [MUSIC PLAYING] We're wrapping things up on this Friday with him a brochure, of course. Just relive these games if we can. They're just a really quick fire, because this is the round that starts tonight. Don't forget to get your tips in everyone. And our tips will be on our socials. You're not a fan of S&P. No, reckon they're rubbish. You've tipped out late. I have. Genuinely think-- Genuinely think out of label, win that card. GWS Giants and the Gold Coast Suns. Now, you know, of course, we know that the Gold Coast aren't beating them home, but can't win away. You've tipped the Gold Coast Suns. Give me the genuine reason. Genuine reason is, I think, that that's as open and as honest as a coach has been on to the media about how bad their team's going away. And I think that's 10-fold within the four walls. So I think they'll find a way to bounce back. Do you have concerns about the team at West Coast, which I do, have had to take to Melbourne? I know it's young, and everyone says, that's great. But I would have had them winning this game. In fact, I had them winning this game easily against some Kilda with the likes of Jo and Waterman. They're both not there. That concerns me. Yeah, it does concern me too. I still think the life that you pump into a fresh team that has the weight of expectations off their shoulders, the coaches changed as a breath of fresh air in the play. So I think they play with a little bit of life. And yes, it certainly would have been better with the two of those guys in there. But I still think they're going to win the game. A Collingwood gone over the cliff, are they done? Ah, not done, but I just think they've won the last two and a... The last two and a half years could have gone all the way for them. They come back and win these tight games. You could just as easily lose them. So while they've been very good, I don't think they've been as dominant as everyone has thought. They've been and they're just starting to lose these ones now. They're giving themselves too much of a margin. They can't come back. John Longmire is going to be hard to beat the coach of the year. The factor's there. Three games clear. But is Sam Mitchell a contender? Sam Mitchell is certainly a contender. I think he's... John Longmire has had a very good team that he has made exceptionally good, whereas Sam Mitchell has had an average team that he has made a real threat. Did you long the real deal? They are the real deal. I think the dogs are going to find a way, though, and I've had to do that out of necessity to get my tips back, but yes, too long of the real deal. Josh Carr is too, I see the keen hinkly. Should Josh Carr be a contender at West Coast? I think you should throw his hat in the ring. I don't think... Well, I don't know why you wouldn't. You still think Sydney, albeit they're travelling to Brisbane and they've got some big outs, Sydney? I think Sydney are a class above. Three men will beat Melbourne easy. Comfortably, yes. And Carlton will beat North Melbourne. Yeah. Who will coach West Coast? That's a great question. Thank you. I don't think it will be Dean Cox. I think Dean Cox had the opportunity to do that under Adam Simpson, the succession plan, and would have still got into the job next year, regardless. But isn't leaving a club like that important for your intel, your intellectual property, your knowledge of East Coast footy? Isn't that a better option than sticking around and doing the same old stuff around the footy club? It is. How long has Cox been at Sydney for, though, East Coast? Oh, shh. Eight years? Yeah, well, he's got young kids. His life is over there. Yeah. And I think they've just... He's obviously enjoying his time there, and he's obviously... The question would be, the only thing that would stop Dan Cox leaving is if long mind's like, "Well, I'm still the best coach "and I want to do it for another five years," then you'd be like, "Oh, maybe." He's the best coach and there's no need for him to go. Correct. But I still think the succession plan is in place, and he will do that, and I don't think he will leave. Who coaches West Coast next year, I am... I'd be, yeah, I just got no idea. You did really well. He came off the bench today for Ash's Unwell, but also for Scotty and Hayes and him, and I also didn't want to do it, but I appreciate it. I'm going through him. Oh, mate. I'm all right to hear if you need me. No, you're a good man. Good luck in your return game. Thank you very much. For you, yes, have a good day, Monday. Yeah, yes. Monday, again, we'll have so much to dissect, and if you're not doing anything on Sunday, make sure you're tuning in to SC&W and AFL Nation between from 11 o'clock, we're at the ground. Thanks to Grief, thanks to Chris. Great week, everyone. Well done. to Sunday footy. You
