Full turns at mintmobile.com. Good morning, everyone! Coming up, 4 past 6, 17 degrees is our top, with some showers around, currently 13.7 to almost there. We could dip our studio for the next two hours. Scotty, good morning. Hello, guys, how are you going? Are you going to Melbourne? Yep. Okay. Yep, I'm seeing this weather. I'm going to get some good weather in... Are you driving over? Yeah, you're going to drive? Yeah, absolutely. I tried to get it passed. No, I'm sorry. How about we drive? She said, "How about I meet you there?" No, I think so. I'll miss you. I'll miss you. So, you're not going to be here tomorrow? No, you're in front of us. Oh, that's right. That's our feature show. I'll be here on the weekend, either. So, I do... It's just a little spell mate, just a little fresh and rubber. Yeah. Cool, Gary and Tim has it, and Jerry has it, and everyone else has one. So, why not you? It's one every six months, it's enough for us. It's okay. Good luck to him. Carolyn, what a day off look like. Anyway, well, that's what we do. Because we get here, we contribute to this country. And what a beautiful start to the day. I love a nice start to the day. So, good morning, Phil from Badgy. Yeah, good morning, Goss and Scotty. Always enjoy starting the day listening to you with a cross-section of seriousness. When's that start? Common sense? When's that start? And comic relief. Keep it up. On the tackle debate. Imagine a player ineligible for the Brownland medal due to this interpretation of the Tribunal. Have a productive day. I can't guarantee that, Phil, but appreciate the start, mate. That's an absolute ripper. It's going to be big, and it will happen. There's no doubt about it. As I've said, they need to, and it's not wrapping all over tradition or anything like that, but it's never been easier to be suspended from a game of football as it is right now. And I still think that two of the three week suspensions handed out this week have been excessive, and it will be big and it will take away from a Brownland medalist night at some stage when they finish third and win it. So, the Isaac Heaney one where the Tribunal on appeal said, well, what are you bringing to us different? Yeah. And they said, well, nothing. They said, from the outset, well, you're going to be in trouble. Yeah. So, take your week. But now they're coming back with more legal speak. They're coming back with, it's a miscarriage of justice. Well, I have to, because that's what's getting them. You've got lawyers telling them how they should be playing games. And what should happen in a game of football blokes. They've never played at this level that don't understand that you don't have time to say, in a tackle, I've got to release his arm here and I've got to lean down onto the ground. Please, come on. Can I just say, though, it is, it's Thursday and we're still talking about it. I know, no, no, it takes a lot of time. It's such a great season. It's a great game. So, we're talking about this drama. Yeah, you said this to me the other day, because it's all consuming, because it is like, we need to, we sort of need to fight for the fabric of our game, though, of course. That's the thing. Yeah, I agree, but it's just... It is. It's not just banging on about one topic all week. Like, this is going to have enormous ramifications on what our game looks like. And it is the best game in the world. It's going to change. And it's going to remain the best game in the world. That is why it's probably getting the attention that it does. But I completely agree with you. This is a phenomenal season to the footy. Yeah. And there is so much to unfold, isn't there, in the next six weeks. There's anyone from two to fifteen can play or miss finals. Like, it's ridiculous. The start of Roger Rugby League last night in New South Wales got the job done, too, won in the series against Queensland. It was low scoring for a lot of it, broke open. Like James Sullivan will be in to talk. Andrew Gay is talking about the boomers they're preparing for the Paris Olympics. And also joining us will be Paul Gao, Fox Sports Golf Expert, former professional. Yeah. Well, he's still a professional. But he's going to join us as well to talk about the Open Championship, which gets underway if you're a golfing nut. It actually starts at 1.30 perth time today. How good is that? Yeah. That's where I am at 1.30. I'll be silly houses and looking at golf. If the toilet's over there. Seriously, you see how close are these to schools? Do you want you banger off foots? Yeah, I can see you doing that. I tell you, our listeners are up and about today. Morning boys. I need to manage a lot of Scotty. I'd like if it's Friday. Oh, jeez, my mum, let's just tell me about it. Well, it worked out. Gus, would you still like the grand for Royce? Just chipping with the piano? Would you still like the grand finally famous Vanessa Emma Rochi was singing the national? Yeah, yeah. It's a grand final, but Vanessa wouldn't be invited to sing the grand. Yeah, big nose. Carlos wants to straighten us up again. Carlos asked you for something yesterday. I think Carlos throws grenades and walks away. He does this one. He goes, "Text, text, text, text, send." And then puts the phone in and goes, "And walks away." Once free agent eyes are coming from the Giants, linked to several clubs, including Freo, would he be a good fit? It's a good player. You don't, you're showing your shoulders, you're not sure? I think it's a handy player. Just a handy player? I don't think he's any great shakes. Is he? He hadn't wiped up in a game the other week. Did you see that? Sure. He was very good. I loved it. He was going absolutely off his banana. He could never do that. Jesse Hogan, no. I would never do that, but at the end of the day, who's he better than at Fremantle at the moment? Fremantle was a very good list. Yeah. Some good players not getting a game. Fremantle, up to their neck in it this year, they're very close to it. You're all of a sudden, you want to bet? No, not all of a sudden. No, no, no, no. I'll be saying this for some time. But you asked me five weeks ago, or four weeks ago, who's in the who are you? Four weeks ago, you've decided... Maybe eight weeks. Oh, no, about to... It could have been an opening round. You did. I said they were in the four that I had, and now there's only three. Matty of Bell divers here, which, again, we talked about this, you know, that... Would it be the same outrage over a tackle? So always thought the brown low should be changed to only intentional acts rule you out. However, what happens if Duggan never plays again? Well, that's... Liam Duggan, there's the second bout of concussion. So the players that get can the cast are clearly susceptible to a second bout. Everyone's different. Exactly. But isn't it funny? Can I just... I talked... I heard a guy talking on Jared's show yesterday, and he was a bit chaotic. The conversation. In fact, Jared just let him ramble. And it was fine. The guy was making sense. But he was from the... He was a bit older school. And he said, "Isn't it funny that we all got concussion to kids? We played British Bulldog, we played footy, we played tackle, we played chasey, we pummeled blokes." Mark us up. You know what I mean? And we all got a whack in the head. So who's not to say 95% of the current days of AFL players have come into the system with concussion at some stage. Never been diagnosed. Absolutely. But we never went to hospital. If I was playing British Bulldog at school and got tackled, and fair to say that I was a target. (LAUGHTER) They weren't flashing the idea in the door. They were uni on the oval. So you get home and your mum would go, "I just lied down. Here's a Beck's in a... Beck's in a... Beck's in a good lie down." And you just... Yeah. I ran around a corner. I promised, got ran into a guy called Jeffrey Fenton once, right? Fenton. No, Fenton... Jeffrey was the... For the famous... No, it wasn't that big. He was quick. Anyway, but Jeffrey Fenton was famous for eating lead pencils. He'd sit at the back of the class and teach you guys, "Everyone got a pencil?" And Jeffrey goes, "No, I need one of those. Where is it?" He's chewing his lead pencil. My mother had talked with them out for me. Anyway, look at him now. Sorry. I went to school with someone like you. And I agree with that. Thank you. I went to school with someone like crayons. Yeah. So I ran into Jeffrey Fenton. Just as an aside. Yeah. I ran into Jeffrey Fenton and got serious concussion. And like, like, rules crook. Like, I had my head was spinning. I remember the day. I was, I promise, got to still remember the day. And I went home. Now, who's not to say that if I was to enter a professional sporting world, I'm susceptible. So what I'm saying is, the game is now... the players who are being punished for tackling, and we saw Bedford. Yeah. And we saw Charlie Cameron, where they think they're aggressive, or they're just stock-standard front-on tackles, or chase-down tackles. They're tackling blokes. Who's not to say that 90% of tackles in the AFL system right now are not on players who, prior coming to the AFL, have had bouts of concussion. So if every player comes into the system, and part of the new law of playing the game, or the new rules of playing the game is, you will have a brain scan, or you will have concussion testing prior to starting. That is what we absolutely need. And it needs to be not fast-strapped, because you have to do something like that, right? We need a test, a legitimate test. They can tell whether you are going to be susceptible to concussion, or if you've been concussed, are you good now in three or four days? Or because, you know, we've got players who are going to miss 12 days of footy. In the Waffle, it's 21. Yep. And Lee Collin from Swans missed 42. Yep. Because they made him miss another 21 days. Yep. That's because he kept on going to training at least from all over. Yeah. (LAUGHTER) Oh, you're on today. And, you know, to say that he wasn't absolutely 100% clear after 21 days. You know, so we need a test that can, that is specific to each person. He can tell where your brain, if it's still wrapped. But you're going to have to employ a neurosurge, or whatever it is, or, sorry, a head trauma expert, because this is the problem now. Liam Duggan, mate, I'm just saying. Because I agree that he hit his head on the ground. I understand that with Charlie Cameron. Yeah. But he didn't get slink tackled, buried into the ground, and he got up and walked off. He was in the rooms after the game, and high-fiving, happy, and talking to the playing group, and was in his series. I'm not saying he was well. No, no, no. But he wasn't in hospital. Who's to say that that tackle may be a softer MCG? Yeah. Wouldn't have done that down, as well. So, there's so many different bits to it. Yeah, I agree. Well, I think we definitely need a medical test that can tell each individual how they're tracking at this time. Tomo. Famous for eating lead pencils. Let's try and find out where Jeffrey is now. I'm sure he's doing well. [laughter] Do you remember him? I had this out all the time, right? And now we're almost 60, so we're all moved on. But I just wanted to mention, if Jeffrey's listening, that's 131255. Because I remember once saying on radio on a previous life that I kissed a girl at school, and she wrote me a letter to say that she'd had numerous people say that I heard that she was my first kiss. Right? When did she write her this letter? 20 years after, 25 years after. Oh, well, yeah, in fact. You must be a good kisser. [laughter] Come here. [laughter] If you won't hug me, I'm not kissing you. You're not a hugger. So, I'll be interested tonight. And there was one other. There's one other. So, you know, it was... We're trying so hard to be serious and to take some issues here. I promise that. She can't help but... [laughter] What is... Ah, we are hopeless. So, do you ever go through life and go... I genuinely said that Jeffrey Fenton was the lead penter leader, right? I'm glad I don't know. Sharon's a neighbor. You see... Crayons. I can't remember her sooner. So, I'm trying to find where Jane Yates is. So, Jane Yates was a Scottish girl with sort of... ...whispering blonde hair. Yeah. And she was a Basity Rollers fan. Right. And I love Jane. Yeah. And she was a fast runner. Right? [laughter] She had to, buddy. You've chosen her home every day. So, I'm always intrigued by just one or two people. For whatever they did at school. You talk about Sharon. So, you've got Sharon. Yeah, I know her sooner, thankfully. Thirteen, twelve, fifty-five. Thirteen, twelve, fifty-five. You know, Sharon, you see Crayons, the lesbian who primary. He was a girl. Oh, you Jane. You're Scottish, and you went to rose to primary, or Jeffrey, and went and ate lead pencils. Let us know. Thirteen, twelve, fifty-five. Let us know. But seriously, I want to know, like, Clint's gone. Oh, Jeff, must have had twenty kids with that much lead in his pencil. That's the bin chicken. It's the sneezing. Right away. I'm just interested to know, have you got someone out there, listeners, that you want? If you've got someone out there that you want to, you just remember from school. Yeah. There's something quirky that you'd love to know what they're doing now. Thirteen, twelve, fifty-five. Zero, four, eight, seven, seven, three, six, seven, three, six. So I'm... Oh, I love Thomas. Carlos will be fuming right now. Carlos, we're trying our best, brother. We really, really are. Oh, my head's hurting. John said we also had two kids use touchberries and a huge tree that provided shade in the playground and rubbed their eyes as an overreaction. They cut the entire tree down. That's John saying it's school. So they're kids who... Do you remember... Well, I'm saying that I'm warning you right now. I'm first in your head before reading something. You remember Inchi powder? Inchi powder. Inchi powder was in... there was a tree and it had a ball, and it had sort of little spikes on it, like the... it had leaves, but it had ball things hanging off it. And if you broke it open, it has Inchi powder, and you'd go and put it down the back of the shirt off of your guys at school, and you'd go, "Inchi powder, Inchi powder!" And then they were sort of bastards, British bulldog. We had half in the hills. We had chinese apple trees. Oh, I love a good chinese apple. We got one at home. Yeah, you still had a call on that? I don't know. I don't know. More day, though. Chinese apples. That's two large chinese apples. Yeah, big ones. Yeah. Little rock hard pips. The piff from it, people. Oh, really? Yeah, you're staying there close. You're getting trouble. Oh, pea shooter. Yeah, it's a little bit of the pea shooter. A little bit of that got me. Oh, dear. What else? What just happened? Anyway, about the tackle. Game shot. We're shot. I need a little break. I think I'm not going to catch it, I think. Oh, where are they now? Oh, dear. What else? What just happened? Anyway, about the tackle. Game shot. We're shot. We're shot. I need a little break. I think I'm not going to catch it, I think. Oh, where are they now? Oh, I'm not going to catch it. I'm not going to catch it. I'm not going to catch it. I'm not going to catch it. I'm not going to catch it. I'm not going to catch it. Oh, where are they now? Oh, where are they now? No. From 9.85. Where are they now? Jeffrey, Sharon and Jane. Let's hope they're all still with us. What? Oh, no. What's happened? What is this? Oh, yeah. Let's hope they're with us. Oh, wait. I'm coming, you guys. Stop it. You're not helping us. Oh, God. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I think Jeff Fenton is an accountant. He's penciled his word here, isn't he? Oh, God, it's lost his way. We'll take a break. No, no, no, you reckon? We should keep going on with this stuff. Oh, I do apologize. But it just went off on a tangent. But the prettiest topic to discuss. 0-4-8-7-7-3-6-7-3-6 is the number. Phil of Como is trying to straighten us up. Lads, Toby Bedford. Tackle is similar to Dangerfield's. Bedford got three danger gets off. Complete bias. Well, and that goes back to Patrick Dangerfield. He's a wordsmith. You know, talked his way through it. You know, Toby Bedford probably not so. Or we've had him on the show. We love Toby, but probably not as eloquent as he, of course. Plenty of other texts. Bruce of Frito. Don't. Oh, Bruce. No, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, come on, Bruce. What sort of tree is that? 30 points. The rubber tree. 7-10. Alrighty. Stop. Stop. Everyone just take a break. Alright, everyone just calm down because it's amazing what memories do to us, isn't it? Really? Amazing what children we are. Alrighty. Last one before we break. Yeah, we've got to go to a break. Got to go to a break. Sorry, boys. It used to be a sports show, and I've ruined it today. I had no intention of going down there. I had no intention of just going down random. It just happened, organically. Yeah. It was back in Cushing, running into Jeffrey Fenton around the corner, who ate lead pencils. That's how I got to that. I was at a job interview today when the manager handed me a laptop and said, "I want you to try and sell this to me." I put it under my arm, left the building, and went home. He called me up and said, "Hey, bring back my laptop." And I said, "250 dollars and it's yours." You got it? You told him to sell it to him. [MUSIC PLAYING] Birthdays, events, and some of the great moments in history. It's on this day. Come on, let's see. Are you guys now stalking LinkedIn to find Jeffrey Fenton? Well, Jeffrey Fenton, people are sending in Jeffrey Fenton pictures. Bear it all day because the little things are over there. Let's say he's up because Jeffrey, don't know. It might not be easy. It might not be able to. Look at that. I am deficiency. [LAUGHTER] [LAUGHTER] Do you want it? Deon Demucci's 85. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] On this day, thanks to Bear on a day because the little things are everything. Happy birthday to celebrating a birthday. Eighteenth day of July 2024. Martha Davies is 83. [MUSIC PLAYING] Everywhere, wherever we dance, there you go. [MUSIC PLAYING] [LAUGHTER] Martha Reeves. Get yourself together. Sorry. Was she born on the boat? Martha Davies. [MUSIC PLAYING] The great man, the greatest of all time, 75 today. Yeah. DK. [MUSIC PLAYING] And he's gone. That's off the edge. Just couldn't win his strikes. Both of them goes for three in a real dramatic collapse here at the Oval. [CHEERING] That's a beautiful take. What a marvellous take. That's a great combination from the pair who've done so wonderfully. Well, from Australia over the years, Lily from art. One of the best combinations we've ever had in this country. Yeah, no doubt. Dennis Lillie, born Subiaco on this day, 75. What a thought. Absolutely brilliant. So, Richard Branson, 74. For sure, Richard Branson. What is the key? It's surrounding yourself with great people. Learning to delegate early on. Not trying to do everything yourself. You know, making sure you've got the kind of people that are praising their team around and not criticizing their people. And having people who are willing to really innovate, be bold, and create something which everybody works for the company. Probably pay for the guy playing the piano in the background just to be a little bit quiet. Yeah, just pop dancing. He's one of the most impressive human beings of Richard Branson. Oh, he's done some ludicrous stuff. Hey. But really, he's booked, and it was very enlightening. And obviously, someone that you've... Aspired. Aspired to be. Delegate people around you. Delegate. Don't criticize people. It'd be nice. Sir Nick Feldo, because of the Open Championships on. He won the third U.S. Masters, beating Greg Norman. Remember that time that he squandered it? Yeah. He won three Open Championships as well. Sir Nick Feldo, he's 67. That's it. The final 71, and Nick Feldo is the Open Champion. A 4-round total of 2-7-0. 6-shots better than the previous best-winning score of St. Andrews, and a very dominant performance. Paul Gausen, enjoy this later. Brilliant. Pretty good comment on Nick Feldo. I enjoy his work. Yeah, me too. Vin Diesel, otherwise known as AKA Marx Sinclair is 57. What are you smiling about? Dude, I almost had you. You almost had me? You never had. You never had your car. Oh! Granny shifting that double-clutching like you should. You're lucky the 100-shot of Nice didn't blow the welds on the intake. Fast and serious. Any real race. Is he still with us? Good series. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Don't kill him off. He's cool. Vin Diesel. Alrighty. Celebrating birthday to Tom Harley, of course, to long-premiseship captain. Christian Bell was 44 today. Goodbye, Anna. Elsa, wait. No, I'm just trying to protect you. Please don't slam the door. You don't have to keep your distance anymore. 'Cause for the first time in forever, you finally understand. Seriously? For the first time in forever. For the first time in forever. Yeah. This is every boy and girl loves frozen. It doesn't matter what you are. 'Cause, come on, for a long while. Yeah. Lola loves it. Lola loves it. For a long while. Forever. Lola loves dressing up. I will be right here. Yeah. Granny. So, Christian Bell played in frozen. She played Princess Anna. She was the voice. She didn't play Princess Anna. Yeah, she was a great job. She was a great job. She was a great job. She was amazing. It's a cartoon. On this day, Anne Hattie, who played Helen Daniels in Natives and Carrie Francis, were the very first hosts for the very first time on this day. A, B, C, T, V. 1966. There's a bear in there and a chair as well. There are people with games and stories to tell. Open wide. Come inside. It's Play School. What window are we going to look through today? We're going to look through the arch. Natives coming each on this day rounded out a couple of tens of the Montreal games. We're going to have a number 10. Number 6 for not your company, so I just won the full battle here in the only divine. And I'm dressed again. Very quickly after they released their family. She's got a couple of tens. Done. Baron O'Day, don't miss out on the little moments because the little things are everything. Happy birthday, celebrating a birthday. It's 18 day of July. And on this day, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown got married. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] >> 15 infants arch on the western side, 8/4 of a host plus in favor of the Blues. >> Now Moses, Moses, Moses, he's in the score. New South Wales, 4 to 4, and they are right. >> Queensland has to stop Camara, season number 30. You watch his ability to get between defenders, which creates extra bodies in the defense. So the quick play, the ball bang, they're the things you can watch. >> Opens up some holes on the outside, I really like it. >> Listen to you, go. >> Some of us enjoy the game, go. >> I enjoy the game, that's not hearing it coming out of your lips. I'm listening to Dave Sullis, all of us on the outside game is being opened up. >> I tell you what, I tell you what, there is nothing better than when two experts of a game start talking about it and it unfolds. And good morning, Sally, what longer I've got to say, I think we were right. >> Hello, hello, Scotty, hello, guys. >> Listen. >> Well, well, think about it, the end of the day, the 64th minute, Jerome Blueeye finds a gap on the outside, picks up Bradman Best, and Bradman Best does what he does best, and scores try. So yeah, yeah, you got it, Scotty. >> Well, we got it, mate, and that's why you and I control this segment. It was a pretty wild game, as I said, it was for all for, what, 70 minutes, and you blink of an eye, goes to 14, 4 in New South Wales, winning enemy territory and clinching absolute epic decider. >> Yeah, it was massive, it was brutal. And the end of the day, I think referee Kline, and he said it at one stage, he said, now, listen boys, I've let a bit go, you know, there are no jokes here, Lock. He said, they were just bashing the Bejesus out of each other, two nil at half time. And all of a sudden, you talk about four or I can hear your gosses in the background gun, it'll be a draw, it'll be a draw, I'm going, oh, don't tell me, I've gossed your damage, I thought. >> Here comes the golden point. >> The end of the day, they just caught up with Queensland at the back end of the game, and New South Wales had 56% of the footy for the whole game, and that was a big, big thing, but yeah, made it, it was superb, and Jill and Edward's very, very good. Comey did, and I thought it was great for Queensland as well, along with Carrigan, and Madangus Creit, and the Wally Lewis medal, so, New South Wales under Michael Maguire, break the drought. >> Wow. >> As you say, a couple of years since they won a series, but the big one was, it's 2005, since they won a disorder. >> Yeah, it's a drought in origin. The whole, for me, the last one in origin, before we get into the round 20 of the end, did a player get sinbined who was on the bench, and, basically, you're on the bench, and you get sinbined, you've got to go inside. >> Well, it's a great point, you make Scotty, and, gosh, it's unbelievable to see it. I'm going, it's on the bench, it can't be involved, and then I'm expecting, because in any footy, and local footy, whatever, you're gone, you're sent, and client decided to make a new rule, and say, well, Cam, you're going to the bin for 10. Hang on, he's not having on the field, you muppet. >> So, they're going to send him to the sheds, and then if he gets in trouble from there, he's going to go to sit in the car for a little while. >> Did he get sent from the stadium, or is that just a word that you're off the ground? But someone said he got sent out of the stadium, like, out of the stadium. >> No, no, no, no, that was, because we're the blue, that was Hamali Olukawatu. >> Yes. >> He wasn't playing last night, he was in his suit, so the fights broken out next to the crowd, Olukawatu must have, he's grabbing and grabbing, they said, you better get out. >> That's in the car, there's going to be, you know, gosh, and you said it in game one, you love with the NRO when they make the judiciary, the panel make these decisions quickly. They must have a list as long as, yeah, you're hot because they still haven't come out with it this morning. So, we're waiting now, oh, mate, Cameron Mario will get three weeks. >> Well, I got some work to do because, as we know, around 20, he's on our doorstep, and this is where his sides, he can make and break seasons, his state of origin, because guys need to back up some will, some won't. >> The middle game on Saturday, Sal Caesar Knights hosting the Bronx are looking to break his sixth game losing streak, they can't get it done, the Bronx. >> No, it's unbelievable to think in your right, mate, who backs up, that was brutal last night, it starts Friday night, but a couple of these Saturday games, this is massive. So, the Knights and the Broncos, these just, Broncos haven't won a game since magic round, so, you know, they'll tell us to be like, oh, please back up, please back up, I think they can. >> The big thing with the Bronx is they've got a good record against the Knights, and mate, the end of the day, I don't know if you saw Bradman Beth lip last night, he's not playing. >> No. >> These lips split up to his nose, so he's gone, so I think the Bronx has a fine emoji, and they need to quickly. I think Adam Reynolds might be a surprise on Saturday night, he might lob. >> Just needs to strap it up, so it's just a lip, it's okay, and he'll just tape that up and say, don't ever get out there, I thought you blokes were tough, you said they know it's top of the duards, 1v3 where Melbourne will, well, they'll welcome the rusas and hopefully give them a good old touch up. >> Well, it's the big one for me, these two sides, Storm of 1, 5 in a row, and that's, obviously, that hadn't been as affected with Origin, rusas of 1, 4 in a row, so it's two sides that are in form, Storm of 1, 9 from the last 10 against the rusas Scotty, that's a big, big stat, but I reckon the Storm have got through this period very, very well, but the rusas at the moment might just have too many points for them, but, hard to go against your Storm boys. >> Yeah, I don't watch you saying that, because you were banging on the money last night about New South Wales, which surprised me that you were going to tip them at some court, but you know best, mate, let's go to the last one up in Townsville, Cowboys sitting in the eighth, they've got to take on the fifth place doggies, can they get over the top of them? >> Well, look, they need to, and especially at home, because they're only three from seven at home this year, the Cowboys, this is a big one for me. The Bulldogs on the road, they've lost seven from their eight, that's a, you know, that's a big, big stat, they've got to get rid of as far as I'm concerned, I went up there, I know they've been up there last year, round one, they won, so that's what they want. I think it's Cowboys, sort of, start really, really riding home, so I'm going to go to Cowboys. >> Right, what have you got first this weekend? So give us some magic multies, thanks to Labbrokes. >> Yeah, mate, let's go, I'm going to go four at the head to head, I'm going to go to the rabbit hose, the panthers, the seagulls, and the Cowboys at four dollars, score a try any time, we had a little bit of luck last week, we got it up at $11. >> Yeah, you did. >> Yeah, let's go to the rabbit hose, Jack Wharton, manly Tom Trevoevich, the Cowboys spot drink water, we'll get $9.30 there, and the seagulls and the Titans, same game multi, there'll be points everywhere, we're going to go four boys, we're going to go to the Titans, David Fufida, and young Cam Pereira, into Olukawatu and Tom Trevoevich, if Olukawatu is playing, he might get suspended as well. >> Yeah, I'm at $32. >> Wow, we love your work, so you've been superb over a two day journey and now I want you to have a rest. >> Yeah, brilliant stuff, and what, under New South Wales, taking out the state of Virginia in a classic third gamer up there in Queensland, so I always appreciate your time, mate, again, and thanks for talking, rub my leg. >> Just a dryest, don't I, chew up some electricity, oh, dryest, I woke up a million eyelights on our dryers on, I don't think that's not a good thing, and Carlos has sent us straight to the tribunal for a poor execution of the show and then has followed up with "I've got three weeks, hushie set to appeal, I'm not sure he will, I think he'll save the coin." >> Yeah, and not only that, I'll take three weeks holiday, anytime you like, your irrigation pump and filtration product specialist in nutrient water visit nutrientwaterstore.com.au >> In a moment, Andrew Gaze is going to join us to drill down, thanks to the toolkit depot, the ultimate range of trade tool, we're drilling down into the boomers because they're on the verge of the pie Olympics and a man who's been there, carried the flag, he's going to join us right now, co-host of the run home with Andy and Gaze and he pops up everywhere else as well. He's a good man. >> Smash me the other week, though. >> What about Andy and Gaze? >> How's your chance? >> How are you? >> Smash me. >> Yeah, well, and you know what I'm talking about, I thought we were mates to be perfectly honest, but you know, I'll put a little list together and there were some parameters around it. You missed out some serious information that I was allowed to put in a couple of my favorite players, the numbers one to 20, and you guys took 10 minutes to rip more character apart. >> Wow, I can't remember exactly what it was, but it seemed like a very biased top five or whatever it was, and just a little confused because perhaps we didn't have all the information on what the actual criteria was, but it did seem a little odd with some of your choices. >> Well, it was the best players to wear the Guernsey from one to 20. >> Oh, that's right. >> Yeah, I was allowed to put in three of my favorites, and I did clear that up. I was sitting in your text and saying, "Now, listen here, pal," and there was no correction the following day. >> Yeah. >> Character assassination. >> I remember when to the all-time number three, and Lee Matthews wasn't in your top three, we thought out. They might be just a little bit biased going on. >> It may be slipping in. >> Hey, Daisy, appreciate your time. We are going to drill down for the boomers. Thanks to talk your depot, alternate range of tour, but before we get to that, the news through the morning that Mitch Creek has departed the Southeast Melbourne fix. >> Once out, I want to have a look overseas for opportunities. >> Gee, that's late. That's late to be making that decision. >> Well, it is, but I think I'd certainly heard about this at the end of last season, so I think that internally it might have been known for quite some time, and they might have just been holding out some hope that perhaps they could convince him to play on, but he's decided to take his talents elsewhere, and he finished the season in China. He also, I think recently he's been playing in Canada of all places, which is not necessarily known as one of the Mecca leagues in the world, but I think that he's got a desire to explore and perhaps in Europe or Asia might be his ultimate destination, but it is a bloke for the Southeast Melbourne Phoenix. >> I think it's a bloke for the league because he's a high-high-quality player. >> Well, Andrew, may I play devil's advocate? >> Oh, oh. >> Stand by. >> I like this. >> Oh, I like this. >> So, McVay gets a two-way deal in the States. Magna's name has been mentioned also picking up a deal, post-Olympics. So all of a sudden, our man, Creek, says, "Hey, I want to look overseas. Oh, there's no options overseas. Oh, all of a sudden, Tazigov, we need someone because now the pool of players is a lot smaller than it should be. >> Right. >> And here's a 400 little jumps-infura, Mitch Kretz, John Tazigov. >> Technically, it's overseas. >> Oh, I like that's true. No, I hear where you're going. I don't think that would be the case because he had a year to run, it's my understanding on his contracted knee, and I think that they would have put in some sort of arrangement that a release would only be allowed to a non-NBL destination, but, you know, once you are released, according to fever, and all contracts are no longer valid, I don't know whether those types of arrangements can go through. >> Correcting, true. >> You might, yes, you might actually be on to something. I think it's a bit of a stretch at this stage, but you never know. You never know. >> I don't know. I'll tell you what, he has been on recently, he goes, he says, "I wouldn't be discounting that one." I've got a question. >> No, I haven't actually thought of that, but it's a bit like I said, it's a stretch, but not completely and totally beyond the realms of possibility. >> Run with it today, mate. Run with it, because if it comes out of your mouth, it will get headlines. My mouth will go, "Oh, it's certainly go off again." >> I might leave that one to you. >> Here, weekly. >> Yeah, Gotti, Nottie is sent us in a test, and he says, "As one of the nicest people on earth, I thought he was too naughty until a few weeks ago." Yeah, hard was it for a Gazy as a coach to let players go at the end of the season and all let players know they haven't been selected. So we're talking, well, you see Xavier Cooks, Chris Goulding, Matisse Thiebble, Jack White didn't make the boomers squat. How hard is it to make that call as a human being, first of all? >> No, that is really difficult. It's a little easier in the club environment if you think a player is going to find a new home, but when you're talking about the Olympics with these things only rolling around once every four years, and it's four years of a long time in sport. So it's one where you're potentially stopping someone's dream from coming through. So it's gut-wrenching, it's one of the things when I was playing for the boomers that when you're actually at the Olympic Games, one of the biggest obligations that you had was to those players that missed out because you know how privileged you are, but how much of an obligation you have to them to do your absolute very best because they would give absolutely anything to be in that position. So it's a tough one for Brian Gordon, and we're lucky that we're in a situation now where there's three or four players that would be absolutely worthy, and we've got a situation where if you had five coaches, if you took the top five coaches in Australia and you gave them the talent that's available out there, I dare say you wouldn't get the same team from any one of those five, such as the talent that we have available. We've just got a message on our screen from our smart-ass producers saying we'll get Daisy on another time to talk about the boomers, ha ha ha. You know how the news works on this network, Daisy, we've had a couple of good warm-up games, USA, six-point-beats, it'll be a… Everyone beats Siri. Well, USA doing a job, isn't it? No, not everyone beats Siri, I think that's still the medalist in the World Cup last year, and they've got arguably the best player in the world in Yo-Q each, so it was a fantastic win. I don't know if you saw it, but it was played at a… An exhibition game was played at a real intense level, but I love the look of our team. Yes, we do have a tough fall, but we'll be greased, and I think we're a more than 50% chance of getting over Spain and Canada, so I actually like where we're at, despite others, and rightly, acknowledging that we're in a pretty tough fall. Pull a death again. We always get to pull a death in every sport we play, and we get to pull a death. It's not a bad way to describe it, because you've got four incredibly good teams, and the way the system works, even if you finish third, it's only the top two third-place finishes to get through, and unlike other pools where there might be a little game where you can bolster your percentage, I don't see that now. We have no percentage boosters in our pool. Appreciate your time, guys, you would love to chat longer, and we probably will during the game. Good idea, boy. We'd love to chat. Good idea, boys. Good on you, Andrew, guys, joining us a book later. We'll love to chat. Oh, should Eddie Ockendon carry the flag? Quickly. Ah, why not? They are easy. He's been around a long time. Yeah. He's done some tremendous things. Absolutely. Fifth Olympic Games, guys. Fifth Olympic Games. Nice work, boy. You might thank you, Andrew, guys, the flag carrier for the games. Of course. A break. Seven at seven, famous redheads in sport. Blind ranking. Ha! Sing this on the seven. A number that I love. I can count the seven colors in a rainbow up above. I can share my seven cookies or seven apple pies while I read about snow. Thanks to Sonal, Smokey Room, listening, wireless home theatre and more experience game changing sound this season. The red song is because thanks to Matabo celebrating 100 years of German innovation, it is our blind ranking seven at seven. Chris Clafurna, say to explain why we're playing icy red, because it is the best redheads in sport. It was Sean Pollack's birthday the other day, and it got me thinking he was one of my favorite cricketers to watch. Back when South Africa were good at cricket, and just his fiery red locks as he came into bowl was just something special to watch. Oh, let's do seven at seven best redheads, because... Jay Ronneff, but Willis isn't in my list on Jay Ronne. Well, Willis. He was ready. Big wrangler. Blind Paul. You can't win. Blind Paul Redhead. Really? Really? Brunette. I'm brilliant. There might be a couple of strawberry blondes in here in this list. You cannot win a premiership, but I fell unless you get a wrangler in your team. And see, that was the other point, because you always say every team needs a wrangler. You say this to a lot of players that we have on, and so I thought, why not? Let's do it. And number one has texted in and said, "Whoever is breathing into the microphone, stop in capital letters. Well, we've spoken to that person, and we've told them to stop breathing, and they're now dead." Well, I hope you're happy with yourself, 9-1-1. Yeah, it was. Don't know what you're talking about, but anyway. It's just right. Thank you. No. Who's doing that? What's that mean? I don't know. It doesn't matter. It's just a thing. We're talking to Gacy. My mic was off. You'll get to it. I'll put the advice, Tim. I'll ask a question and let him go. There you go. It's right. Thanks to Matabo, over 100 professional quality cordless power tools on a 118 volt platform. Matabo's celebrating one of his. And it is all sports, or a range of sports, not all sports, but a range of sports, not just AFL. Not just AFL, not just AFL. Can you just give us the breakdown so we know what to expect? Oh, yeah. We're going to move on. No, we're going to move on. I don't know. The ranking, the breakdown of it. It's probably about four or five of the night AFLs. In total. Yeah. There's four to nine. There's four to nine. What I've put out, Brad Hardy, he's going into number seven. Your 10 cost? I think Brad listens. It's blind ranking, so I don't know what I've got. Clayton Oliver. Oh, tough. Yeah. Tough. It's pretty good, Ollie. Two. Whoa. That's early. Yeah, it's early. No. No. Blind rankings, redheads. I'm just out of crack it. T. Gossage from going early with his number two. I'm going to throw in number two as Mopelvoss. Yeah, good. Good, good, good. So far, so far they've all been footy. That was a discussion with Ted Mimes here. Adam Cooney. No. He basically did the tennis, too. He's pretty good at it. What are you going to put in case? Six. Adam Cooney at six. You said all sports, didn't you? Oh, Jared Ruffin. You're a lazy. Ruffey. Ruffey was good. Really good. He can go in a five. Ruffey. Tomo. Whoever was breathing into their mic, can they please turn it up a bit? Why? It's Derek. He's turning the lights out. You've finally got to do it. You've finally got to do it. You know that. Boris Becker. Oh. No more one. Hey, big, big, big. Mate, there's no greater redhead. He's number one on a tax office list as well. He's in the clink. Did he go the clink? I think so. Did he hide in a cupboard as well? I don't know who this is. Show me. Show me. Show me. Back Rogers. Play for us. Cricket for us. Cricket. There we go. Yeah. I think that's what I thought. Yeah. That's what I thought. Yeah. What? This is a first. I don't know who this is. Show me. Show me. Show me. Back Rogers. Play for us. Cricket for us. Oh. Cricket. There we go. I've got one too, don't worry. I've got one too. Yeah, no. I know him is back. Six. Yeah. I've got mine at seven. And people in Melbourne would know more than this. And I don't even... And if you can't... Oh, no. Different Paul Skoles. There was Paul Skoles who was the former cricket art. It was Captain and the coach of Victorian cricket team. Soccer player. Soccer player Paul Skoles. Great redhead. Great redhead. Daryl's thrown. Hang on just a moment. Straight away, he said Paul Skoles. Yeah, all right, Daryl. She's favourite. Daryl's up and about today, isn't he? Yeah. I thought you meant Paul Skoles the former Victorian cricket coach. Oh. Maybe number three, the late Paul Skoles. Yeah, and I know that now. Sorry, I took what blinkers off and realised there was another sport. If we were thrown by the new sport. Yeah. Football. Four Paul Skoles. So far, one Becca. Two Clayton Oliver. Three is vacant. Four Paul Skoles from Man United. Five is vacant. Six Cooney. And seven is vacant. I have Brad Hardy and seven. Chris has got the cricketer buck at six. Chris Rogers. Chris Rogers. Chris Rogers. Chris God. I just say Chris God. My God. How much longer have we got? You don't know. All those after. 51 minutes. Okay. Ben Stokes. Oh, good one. I didn't even finish my list. Ben Stokes. You guys get the rest. You may be listening. I've lost my way. Ben Stokes. Oh, really good. Ben Stokes. Really good. Really, really. Neil says look long. Very good. Oh, yeah. Maybe I've got him. Nicole Kidman. She was good on the BMX. She could be in the Olympics. BMX. Ben Stokes goes in at number three. It's Nicole Kidman. Careful. Hey. Meander thought something? No, meander thought. No, meander thought. No, meander thought. Meander thought. How? No, not meander thought. Isn't she? Um, some... Was there a story going on? She already had the right hand. No. Absolutely. No. You finished this story off. [laughter] You see what? You're not in the end of the morning? No, no, no. That's not where I'm looking for. I do apologize to the... the... what's in the Kidman family? Sorry. Oh, God. Sorry to keep the urban. Um... Dustin Fletcher. [laughter] Three. Fletch. I love the way you just abandoned that. Oh, I just... I've got to... I've got to Google it. Fletch. Number three. It's a good one. Fletch. Good one. Oh! [laughter] All righty-o. I'm going to put him in at number four. Oh, yeah. [laughter] Hey, you know what? This is going to be new radio. You have your segment over there on your side of the desk. I'll have my segment over here. Oh, yeah. I'm putting Bluey McKenna in at number four. Bluey. Yeah, I don't think Blue would be upset about being behind Stokes and Voss. So, Bluey McKenna goes in at number four. Would you like me to do my number one? Do you want me to just keep done? Or do you want me to pull one out of your hat while you look up the dictionary? What does that say? I can't read that. Okay. We'll leave it there. I'm a filiac. [laughter] That's a filiac? No. [laughter] I can't read that. It's in the glasses. Cameron Ling. Seven. Lingy. What does that word say? Are you allowed to say it on here? Yeah. Anyway. What is a homefry dot? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. If I could have read that. If I could have read that, this is not my fault. My eyes are bad. I couldn't see your screen over there. I would have never let you say that. Oh, give me a break. Yeah, it's wrong with you. Okay. I can do it. It's another one that's come through. Oh, no. Oh. They all have maffronites. All right. My number one. Jerry Halliwell. Ed Sheeran. Sportspeople. Oh, yeah. The undertaker. So, I'm told you this is what I was thinking of. So, I'm told you this. It's not even close to what you came up with. [laughter] Oh, boy. It is. So, I'm told it just is what I was looking for. It's just by that much. It'd rather be the first one. So, I'm told you this. Oh, yeah. Yep. Yep. Well, because of a special K, I've got the one that's in his list. I need to be happy with me because he's lost in a number one. It's the only spot I've got left. He's Sean Pollock. Oh, there you go. Which is why the second was no idea. [applause] Pretty worthless. We've got that. Pretty junky. And my last one goes in at number five if Steve Hooker. Steve Hooker. Steve Hooker. Steve Hooker and I were in the same hotel in Glasgow. And we end up having to go out into the street because someone set up for a fire alarm. Two o'clock in Glasgow. Steve Hooker. Steve Hooker. He was over there for Channel 10. And further. You decide to light one up. Did you? [laughter] Right. Thanks to Matabo. Oh, don't credit anyone to this. [laughter] They will watch the ends of it too. [laughter] Special, get the lawyers on the phone. Seven for me. Spread out. He's six. Chris Rogers. Five. Jared Rafford. Four. Adam Cooney. Five. Steve Hooker. Four Paul Skoll's menu. Dustin Fetch. Three. Clayton Oliver. Two. And Boris Becker. One. Absolutely. Number one. By eight miles. Zero. Four. Eight. Seven. Seven. Three. Six. Fifty-five. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) If we are in those positions, be able to manage the game better and be more decisive when we're taking shots on goal. Yeah, it's a mindset thing, Darryl, too, but also coaching stance as well because I know that most teams will be training for, you know, two minutes left in a game or five minutes left in a game where one point up or one point down the balls deep in the backline deeps, you know, balls deep in the full line so they do train for those things but I think the most important thing is not changing what you've done. To get yourself in that position, Darryl, you're talking about closing out game, so you're obviously in the lead, you've done something right to get in that lead and you go back to the, the Collingwood Gold Coast game where Collingwood came in an absolute flurry like they've done for two years now and panicked teams like there's no tomorrow and ran over the top of them. The Gold Coast just, they didn't go into game saving mode, they went into, we're going to stick to why we were in front and they took the game on again after Collingwood, you know, headed them so it's a mindset thing and I think you just got to stick to your guns. Yeah, I absolutely agree, because especially that Hawthorne game, I just thought we went into our show way too quickly, you know, and didn't win those clearances or make those forward deep entries which had got us into the lead. Those sideways kicks is what Freeo have, you know, they used to do a lot of, and now they're getting it out of their game, they do it occasionally when they need to be patient, but when you do do that here, when you go down that path early, it does put some breaks on why you're playing so well and why you're actually in front. So now I'm with you, Darrell, I'm sure they're working out at it. Nice work, good on you, Darrell, always great to get your feedback and 0487736736, if you wish to text us, or 131255. We also had Luke Hodge last Friday. There you go, yeah, hodgey. Scotty, because you're not here, and we'd always like to talk about some of the games before you take off and enjoy your long weekend. I'll be back. Are you working on Monday, man? I'll be here to join, I'm not here, but I'll be joining it from the Melbourne studio on Monday over there. Just to feel the room over there in Melbourne, that's why I'm going just to get an all-encompassing look at the show. All right then, let's go through your tips starting tomorrow night. Essendon versus Adelaide, who do you like? Essendon will beat Adelaide at Marvel Stadium. Are you convinced by... I'm not convinced next night, no. Is that the question? Yes, that is the question. I'm adamant about it. I'm not convinced on the whatsoever. The Gold Coast Suns go back on the road. They go to Angie Stadium against GWS. Well, they should drive because they hate flying, so they should drive. Where is that in Canberra? No, it's Angie. You just said that. No, GWS. And this is one to see, too, if GWS are genuinely back. We think they are, and we think they come at home with a bullet, but I'll be tipping GWS in this one. St Kilda, Marvel, Host West Coast. Now, Jake Waterman is in doubt. That's a problem. Major problem. Opens up their forward line again, though. I just still reckon there's a cluster down there at Tom's. I just think there's a lot of players in there. A genuine cluster. All right. Does Jack Darling come back and then he feed us? I wouldn't have thought so. I wouldn't have thought so. I think there's more than one week for him. Sir, then Bailey Williams get more time down there. Probably. Jack Williams could go into the ruck, yep. Interesting. I just think, St Kilda will find a way to make this. Now, obviously, I'm going to be in Melbourne. I could go to this game. I'm not going to. Fifteenth place, sixteenth. Yeah, no. Just last week. Be brave, mate. Don't tip St Kilda because you think they're going to make it a seven goals to six games. Oh, I think they will. Yeah, but West Coast won't play that game, mate. West Coast. Sometimes they get a choice. No wind hager, so there's no one to go with the other bloke. Harley Reid. And Philippa, who's arguably the top three players, even though he's spent a lot of time in the VFL. He's a star, no big king. A king's not playing all the Rizzi? Oh, he's in there for the year. Yeah. So there you go. He's a fragile one, I think. No, no, I just... They can't win St Kilda. They can't win. I think what's the main way to be happier for West Coast to blow them out of the water. It will happen, I'm telling you. It will happen. You can tip the ego? I'm tipping West Coast 100%. I have all week. I think I might have tipped him at the start of the year, too. One for pride at the moment, so I'm going to have to go to St Kilda. Mate, you're mad. I just think emotional week, you get up for it. Yeah, no. They fell short, but only just. I love Tim Kelly on our show saying, yeah, you're right. Yeah, I take what you're saying. We won't take the game on. They won't take the game on. It won't be about the arm wrestle with Jared's go-field. It will be boys, we're here to win this game. Yeah, good. Like it. Thank you, Matt. M.C.G. Hawthorne Collingwood. Oh. This shot, mate. Where's Paul Hazeby's grab? We've got to give him some Jews. Paul Haze on. Come on, here it is. What do you see? Era over Collingwood. Line through it with a texture. It is done. It's been a good era. They only got the one premise, sure. He nailed it. He nailed it, mate. He nailed it, mate. He nailed it. They are off the cliff. They are done. We won't see Collingwood in the eight for a decade. Oh, that... D.C.G. Don't mean I'm going to be rumpy. He nailed it, Haze. He nailed it, Haze. Hold on a very good side. Hawthorne. Probably playing better, but the pies will find a way. They won't be Hawthorne, though. They will find a way at the M.C.G. in front of 22,000 people. Well, and John's texted him. Why would St. Kilda look for Dylan Sheil for next year? Dylan Sheil, we had moved on, don't you? He promised the world Dylan Sheil. And I thought he was good for a fair chunk of it. But not now. Unfortunate. Should you tip Hawthorne? No, Collingwood. Are you tipping Hawthorne? Yeah. Right. Pies. Can you see them? Oh, they'll skyrocket back to third. Jelong, G.M.H.B.A. Wow. Oh. And it's the doggies. Are the doggies back? Oh, I don't know, Hank. Are the cats back? I don't. If I'm the last three. Yeah, I don't think they catch it. And when they last three, Scott. Genuine contenders to be honest with you. Oh, really? Yeah, I don't. I don't know. The latter Scott. Are they equal second? Yes. Oh, it's a wild season. And I'd love the dogs. I mean, I think the dogs are better team when they're at their best, but I just can't trust them at all. So I'm going for Jelong at G.M.H.B.A. The bunt could get off the chain in the midfield. Yeah, he could. Absolutely. And he's a good ranger. Yeah, he's a true red. I don't like saying "ranger." I really don't. I don't think he's derogatory. I sound loud. Nah, nah, nah. It is. Don't actually freaking you go bigger issues. You got to play as they explain coming from the Kidman family you have. What is that for? No, I didn't say that. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. That doesn't matter what you mean. Jelong will beat them out. I think the dogs are good. I'm just trying to be best either straight man. How's this world turned? And put out a lot of playing Richmond at late level. Yes. And yeah, put a win there. They are. They are the pretenders. They are the biggest pretender going around. I was stacking to hear Joel Sellwood's comments. He spent a week with the club. A few days with the club. The mid-year group. And came out and said, on the radio, I said, "I sat down with the poor Adelaide players for a few days and my taking is that they don't know each other's game at the moment." Yes. I'm not sure you can do that. I've obviously got him in. I haven't got him in to say, "You'll pay the media. Come in and see how we do things here." I've obviously got him in to say, "Can you lend us some leadership staff, leadership leadership capability?" because he was one of the great leaders. He's coming and told us what happened. Wow. Anyway. That's a staggering take. Yeah, it was a big time. It's a problem, but luckily they're playing rich. That show's finally dished up something worth listening to. Now, Port versus Richard, right he owned. Oh, God. This is belting everybody. [LAUGHTER] Sunday, Brisbane host Sydney. What a game. What a game. Now, this is the point we're going to try and make here. Brisbane Good last week on the road beating West Coast. Right? Yeah. Or West Coast really good on a bit of a sugar hit after Simo's disappearance. And our Sydney back after a couple losses. There's so many questions here. There's every chance that Brisbane have possibly set themselves for Sydney before coming here. There's every chance. There's so many factors in that. There's so many things we wouldn't be able to actually get right. You could have a guess, but not get right. Everything you said there could be spot on. I think Sydney, North Melbourne, have an ability to play teams into form. And they'll adjust the team that Sydney needed to play after a couple of losses. And I think Sydney is still the best team in the competition and will go and beat Brisbane. Wow. You can't tip against Brisbane there now. I think that, at the start of the year, they were very shaky at home. But when it comes to tips, you're going to listen to you and me. Goss, can you ask, Scotty, for one good draft E calling would have picked in recent times. Who isn't linked to Father's son Academy rules? The answer is Zilch Will of Claremont. Well, thank you for the Golden Triangle question. Good, on your will. Stick to your own. No, no. Ask and answer the question. Give me a genuine star pick. That's a good point. I think music. Thank you. Do I go? He's an oldest. Oldest. A star. They've picked up some good ones. Father's son's name. They've got fathers. They didn't have father's sons. They'd be a shot that club. Terrible. More. And the other two. Kids. The day cost boys. Right? No, no, no, me and another draft E. I agree with Will. So we're talking from the draft. Not trades or anything like that. It's just said, yeah. Who have picked in recent times, yeah? Mm. But they haven't got through the Academy stroke father son. Mm. That's a good question. It's a good question. It's a good question. Well done, Will. Well done. Back to the tips. A headline. Free metal here. It's a lot on Derek Hine. Morning, Decker. Free metal versus Melbourne. What? Yeah, Melbourne here. Sunday afternoon. The two-hour pre-game, have you? On Saturday? You guys will be awesome. Um... Free metal will win that. Surely it's going to be another game. We take Brisbane to Sydney. What a thought. Just a little bit of it. Two hours of you and Pete and Jimmy and Hayes. It won't be much a moment. It won't be much a moment. You're on it at 11 o'clock. Vovey's birthday on the weekend. We're having a festival. I'm going to have to go and see her early. Point nine. Oh, really? I hope you're awake at five on Sunday, Vove. Birthday's on Saturday, but we're doing the party on Sunday. Oh, hang on. No, you're not. No, you're not. Because I know that you would never do that. We are doing it. You would never. We are doing it. We are doing it. We have a massive party. Five hundred people. Vovey's a popular one. No, Vovey wants five. We've got five hundred. But it's not a way. I know. And your stance over the years that you would celebrate a birthday. That's not on the actual birthday. We're going to the news. We'll come back and we'll get a quick. Happy birthday for Sunday. Saturday. Is it a birthday? Saturday. Party Sunday. I'll take care of it. But I'm going to go Sunday. Saturday to wish you a happy birthday on a day. Sunday morning because I love her. Sunday afternoon is the party. In between that I'm going to do a 75 hour preview of football. Between pre-metal and Melbourne. You should be listening to every word. There's no way you're going to a party with five hundred people. There's just too many people for you. And Carlton will beat North Melbourne. Make the finish off. Carlton will be exactly right. All right. Let's get some news away. Coming up Paul Gao because the Open Championship starts at 1.30 perth time. If you're at home and got nothing to do today, turn on the telly because the Open Championship, the real golf starts today. Breakfast time, powered by Kubota. Taking any job with Kubota's range of tractors, mowers and utility vehicles. Will of Claremont. I know it's pretty good. Charlie Dean. I don't know mind show you then. I think Charlie, that'd be okay. What are you scoffing at? No, he said anyone, you know, good. Why can he whack whack whack? Why don't you give me names? Yeah. Quite as a premiership player. He is. He's been chasing. No, no, no, no, no, no. Is that a good one? No, no, no, no. I'm not going to go back to the day. I'm not going to go back to the day. Well, tell him to. Well, there's a couple of young fellows called Steel Side Bottom and Scott Pendle. We're coming through that are going to be all right to mates. He just piped down. That's a fair point. I reckon he did. It's a fair point that he makes. But at the end of the day, I want to flag that. Yeah. But the future is looking a bit bleak. That's what Will is. Will of from Claremont, Golden Triangle has nailed it in one. Yeah. Will from Claremont. Paul Gao. Paul Gao is going to join us next. We're going to talk a golf because the Open Championship is on 0 4 8 7 7 3 6 7 3 6 is the number. Head him for the top of 17 degrees. Thanks to Sonos, multi-room listening, wireless home theatre and a whole lot more experience. Game changing down this season with Sonos. Sure to go. He could like pick up. Well, Scotty, you can have your rugby league start of origin. Yeah. You can have all the other Mickey Mouse stuff that goes on around the world. But it's now time to get our teeth into. The Real One. The Open Championship at Royal Troon. It starts the afternoon out. I believe it was afternoon. One thirty-five out time. She wouldn't be hitting off early if you would. Yeah. No, no, I'm just okay. I'm happy with one thirty-five start. And I'll see you through the night. First does he's off, include Minwoo Lee, of course he goes about 20 past two out time. One man who's across it is Paul Gao. He's an absolute golfing guru. And he joins us right now. Hey, Paul, appreciate your time. Are you as excited as we are? Oh, I am. This is an amazing tournament. It pops up every year. We've got history as Australians. We've got history at this place. We've had six champions there. We're starting with the great Peter Thompson and finishing it this time with Cam and Smith. So it's just different to every other event. And you just get no sleep this week. Brilliant staff, Paul Gao, Fox Sports, Golf Expert. And the man who was alongside our good mates, Gazy and also Murray. I don't know what I'm talking about it on here. But we just refused to talk about watching Murray, you know. Look, we're excited about this. There's just some names that pop up off the page, Paul, that I want to talk about. One, the great stories is Michael Henry, of course, the Kiwi, who last year. He didn't play, of course. He spoke about the battle that he had with leukemia. And he's out there again. And he's teeing off today. John Daly still going around. We'll see that. My man. Tiger Woods is still going around. And one I wanted you to give me Jasper Stubbs, who's the Aussie who played at the Masters, the amateur who gets a ticket into this as well. Just a remarkable opportunity for a young Aussie golfer as well. So many great stories when it comes to a tournament like this. Yeah, and it'll serve up more story. It'll just get deeper and deeper this event. It serves up drama during the whole week. Brian Harmon tried his best last year to have no drama. He beat the field. He played better than everyone else. But going back to Jasper Stubbs, what an experience for this young man. He'll turn pro very, very soon and get out there. But he's rubbing his shoulders with some of the best in the world. And, you know, just learning how to play the game. And he's gone from Augusta National where he goes start now to Raw Trune, which is a totally different type of golf that you've got to play. And doing it the, you know, the biggest stage of all time is just incredible. And can't wait to see how he goes. You know, he's got a really good game. He hits the ball a long way. He's got a good short game. He's smart. You know, a really good caddy on the bag that's caddy for most of the, you know, from Frank Novolo, you name it to some of the best in the world. So I'll be interested to see how he goes. You'll be nervous, but now he's got plenty of game. I expect him to play well. He's not going to win, of course, but he's going to play well. Paul, so when you're a caddy and you talk about how good a caddy Simon Clark is and you're caddying for an amateur, you're doing it for nothing? Yeah. Well, no, he'll get paid. Simon will get a little bit of cash, but not a lot. You know, Jasper's friends and family and people would have put money in for him to get to the Masters. But he won't be charged with what he normally charges. Simon's doing a lot of work for Golf Australia with their programs with all his knowledge about the game of golf and helping the next generation of golfers. So maybe Golf Australia might throw in a little bit of cash too. I'm interested by that. You're playing a long game there, aren't you? You're playing a long game saying, hey, I'm always caddy for you and you're an amateur making nothing. I'm really hoping that you turn out to be something good. Remember me? Yeah, exactly right. I mean, I'm interested by that. I'm always interested by the bizarre. What sort of earn is it for the caddy? I know they get a percentage if there's a win and stuff like that and they make the cart and all that. But what sort of earn are some of these caddies getting? Because I saw one where the player and his wife are going through business class and at the front of the plane, I saw his caddy standing in zoo class going through and heading to check his luggage in. Do they sort of have a disconnect from their player until they get to a tournament? Yeah, pretty much they do. It's a good time. You think about it. You spend more time with your caddy than your wife, really. You spend an all day at the golf course and working on your game and all throughout the week. So, yeah, you do split ways. I think I'm the US too and now I've spent a long time since I've played it. But they're around about $2,000 a week. And then the caddy pays for their own accommodation and airfares and stuff like that. So you get a percentage like it's for a win, it's 10%. And everyone's got different arrangements. But normally top 10, 7%, then 5% for a cut. But you get little gills here and there. If you would Nike or Adidas, you'd get clothes and stuff like that. But the big guys like Tiger and that, I think they just paid straight out. Steve Williams is one of the richest sports people. In New Zealand, isn't he? Yeah. Wasn't he the highest paid for about 10 years? But wasn't he the highest paid New Zealand sportsman? It wasn't even a sportsman. He bet he's a racing team. He's a baggage handler. How about Scotty Shefflin's caddy? This year, he's won six times, 16 events. And I think he's won 24, 25 million dollars. Wow. He's made over two. I think it's 2.3, they said. So not bad. No, not bad. But he did lose 500 bucks because he had to bail out Scotty from Germany. He got charged with that. Oh, wow. Hey, another one. And I know this a little bit bizarre, but I'm going to go down the bizarre line. A player that I used to love watching when, especially when he stormed on the same, was the Italian Mateo Manocero, who was going to be the next big thing. He was a Sergio Garcia of the world. He was going to be as good as him. And he did storm on as a teenager. Then he sort of lost his way and didn't make the cart. He lost his ticket. He had to go back to Q school and came back. He's playing some heck of golf right on the... He's been a contender in a lot of tournaments over the last couple of months. And he must go here thinking, wow, how the world turns around. Because it does turn around. Some guys go on the scrap heap and return. And some guys go on the scrap heap and never return. He's a great story. Yeah, he's another good story, you know, how to turn his game around. Because this game can really drive your bonkers, can't it? It's one minute. You've got it and then you haven't. And you've just got to look at McElroy. He hasn't won a major in 10 years. But he's contended pretty much every time. And, you know, he fell apart at the US Open at the last major. So, for Mona Zeros to come back, Locky has his credit to himself. But there is those stories that are out there that come back. And, you know, we don't see many of the John Daly stories anymore, do we? No. You know, they're all athletes. They're not out drinking and smoking and carrying on. They're all athletes. They're in the gym and doing all that stuff. I reckon, bring that John Daly. No, I agree with it. The game's poor off with all of this athlete. He's playing. He's in the field somewhere. I was trying to find him. The greatest sports, quite of all time, is from John Daly, who says, "You can't pull fat. That's why I'm never injured." That doesn't get injured, John Daly. He's playing with Aaron Roy and Santiago de la Fuente, the amateur. So, John Daly's still going around. There's an informed player, if you're having a bet. Is Aaron Roy? He's come through the Scottish Open. But in the last month, he's one of the hottest players on the planet. So, if you have a little bet, I know he's playing alongside John. There's always a little bit drama next to John. But he's been playing some good golf. Did you mention him last week? I said last week. He was the man who liked you. Oh, my God, you had a big week last week, didn't you? He's a double lover. He's a double lover. He's a double lover. He's a double lover. Yeah, right. He's a bit weird. He has iron covers, which is again really weird. No, no. Well, that's good enough for me to not want to play with him. Two gloves and iron covers. You're out the door. You're not in my group, I'm sorry. And sleeves always wears the under... Go enjoy yourself with another group. Thank you. All the best. Hey, Gary, can you give us your tips on who you think's going to go well, who needs to play well. And if my boy, I still can't say his name, Ludwig Iberg, if he's a chance, because I've been backing him for a little bit now, and I reckon he's due. Got a bit tight around his neck in the Scottish area. A little bit tight. That's okay. That's okay. Yeah, they tell me you've got to lose one to win one. But he played exceptionally well last week, but, you know, fell away, that last, you know, sort of... And he got that last round, but he had a bit of bad luck to start, and then he lost his confidence, I guess. So he's a really, really good player, but I've got a little bit wide this week. This golf course can serve up definitely some drama of some sort. And I've gone along with Ken Young, who's the American, who's a straight hitter. You need to avoid these bunkers. You wait to see some of these bunkers. You know, you get in there, it could take you days to get out. So I've gone with the American at $67 there. And then, you know, guys like Colin Markower just, you know, they're methodical players. They just hit it up the middle. The weather this week is, the wind's coming from the other direction. Normally it plays downwind the first six, seven holes, which is pretty easy. That's where you do your scoring. And the back nine, it's, you know, just hang on to be alive. But the wind on the back nine will be sort of playing cross breeze, which is not as hard as playing into the breeze into 11. So this guy's a big long hitter. But don't, all the Aussies are sort of playing really well. Men were, he's a scrapper, so this is a topic. Of course, if he takes the driver out of his hands and just hits fair weight, he's riding it. His chipping and putting this year has been off the charts. He's a chance, Jason Day. He's just had one of the most consistent years. And then Adam Scott, who was unfortunately the second last week, should have won that tournament. A few things didn't go his way down the stretch there. But we're a real chance with Aussies in there. That's for sure. So I can't wait, go for four o'clock this afternoon, Sydney time. And men were he's teaming up there at 4-17 and can't wait to see his first tee shot. There's a lot of courses there. You can drive well and get in trouble or you can miss fairways and still be okay. But obviously with the greens in Europe and you're all true and they look ridiculously quick. The bunkers, as you said, you get stuck in there for a few hours. Is there any part of the game that you can afford to be off on during the open? Or does it have to be a complete package? A complete package. And you need a bit of luck because there are all these little mounds in the middle of fairway that put you all into that long rougher, into the bunkers. And you could pipe one off the tee that you think, oh, that's just beautiful and get down there and you're stuck under the lip of a bunker or you're deep into the rough. So you need a bit of luck this week. The greens are a little bit slower. I read that they're only running at 10. So last major US Open at Pinehurst. They're running at four team, which is, that's Royal Melbourne stuff. Like that's really, really, really quick where this is going to be slowed. So it'll play in the hands of Adam Scott, who's been putting world this year and probably the last two years with that putter he's got. And he can be really aggressive with his putts on the green. So this will take, I don't think putting is going to be the big issue here. I think it's just mapping your way around a bit like Tiger Big, when you run the Open Championships 10 or 12 years ago, where he just hit an eye and off every tee. So someone like that can possibly, you know, sneak up and win this event. Yeah, can't wait. Gali, looking forward to it. As you said, starts early afternoon, our time over here in Perth, 130 in the West. It's going to be just four days of absolute joy to watch this. It's going to be the highs and lows. And I saw someone drop a ball in the rough to say, "This is what the rough is like at Royal Turn." And that ball was gone. It was gone. I saw a couple of blade amount of bunkers and if you hit the wrong part of the green, it's off. It's a true test. It's a true test. Appreciate your time, always. And we love your stuff on Fox. Thanks, fellas. You're going to tip, then. I'm going Manasera. I'm going to stick with my man. He's just in great form. He's in great form. I'm like, yeah, he came young, 51 bucks. Yeah, he came young. He got, he got, he got surety during the US Open, which was a bit of war. It's golf. He's going to get you. Yeah, but that's not Cam Young's stick. He doesn't normally get you. He's just a surety. Speaking of a surety, we'll go to the break. Have a listen to Tiger Woods when there's a press conference. So good. And Tiger Woods is up there, of course. And the gentleman asked him a question saying that column on Gomry said it, "Why is Tiger Woods doing this? It might be time to give it away." Have a listen. You know, there was comments last week from Colin Montgomery who said, "Why is he here? He should retire." There's no point to this. Do you feel that's a bit helpful and you've earned the right to make the decision when you decide. Well, as a past champion, I'm exempt on 60. Colin's not. He's not a past champion, so he's not exempt. So he doesn't get the opportunity to make that decision. I do. That's what I mean. You've earned that. You've deserved that. So when I get to, but you had his age, I still make that decision. But he doesn't.
