In a moment, Andrew Gaze is going to join us to drill down, thanks to the Toolkit Depot, the ultimate range of trade tool, we're drilling down into the boomers because they're on the verge of the pie Olympics in a man who's been there, carried the flag, and he's going to join us right now, co-host of the run home with Andy and Gaze, and he pops up everywhere else as well. He's a good man. Smash me the other week though. What about Andy? What about Andy and Gaze? Has your chance? Say hello. Smash me. Yeah, well, and you know what I'm talking about, and I thought we were mates to be perfectly honest. I'll put a little list together, and there were some parameters around it. You missed out some serious information that I was allowed to put in a couple of my favourite players. The numbers won to 20, and you both took 10 minutes to rip more character apart. Wow, I can't remember exactly what it was, but it seemed like a very biased top five or whatever it was, and just a little confused because perhaps we didn't have all the information on what the actual criteria was, but it did seem a little odd with some of your choices. Well, it was the best players to wear the Guernsey from 1 to 20, and I was allowed to put in three of my favourites, and I did clear that up. I was in Andy and your text, and now listen to your pal, and there was no correction the following day. I remember when for the old time, number three, and Lee Matthews wasn't in your top three, we thought out. They might be just a little bit of bias going on. It may be slipping in. Hey, Daisy, appreciate your time. We are going to drill down for the boomers. Thanks to talk you depot, alternate range of tour. But before we get to that, the news through this morning that Mitch Creek has departed the Southeast Melbourne Fix. Thanks out. I want to have a look overseas for opportunities. Gee, that's late. That's late to be making that decision. Well, it is, but I think I'd certainly heard about this at the end of last season. So I think that internally it might have been known for quite some time, and they might have just been holding out some hope that perhaps they could convince him to play on. But he's decided to take his talents elsewhere and he finished the season in China. He also, I think recently he's been playing in Canada of all places, which is not necessarily known as one of the mecca leagues in the world. But I think that he's got a desire to explore and perhaps in Europe or Asia might be his ultimate destination, but it is a bloke for the Southeast Melbourne Phoenix. No, I think it's a bloke for the league because he's a high, high quality player. Well, Andrew, may I play devil's advocate? Oh, no. Stand by. I like this. Oh, I like this. So, McVay gets a two-way deal in the States. Magna's name has been mentioned also picking up a deal post-Olympics. So all of a sudden, our man, Creek, says, "Hey, I want to look overseas. Oh, there's no options overseas. Oh, all of a sudden, Tazigov, we need someone because now the pool of players is a lot smaller than it should be." Right. "And here's a 400 little jumps in for Mitch Craig to join Tazigov." That's true. Technically it's overseas. I like that. That's true. No, I hear where you're going. I don't think that would be the case because he had a year to run, it's my understanding, on his contracted knee. And I think that they would have put in some sort of arrangement that a release would only be allowed to a non-NBL destination. But once you are released, according to fever and all contracts are no longer valid. Oh, I don't know whether those types of arrangements begin to go through. Correct, Andrew, you might actually be on to something. I think it's a bit of a stretch at this stage, but you never know. You never know. You never know. I'm not. Yeah. I'm not going to go on recently. He goes. He goes. He says, "I wouldn't be discounting that one." I've got a question. No, I haven't actually thought of that, but it's a bit like I said, it's a stretch but not completely and totally beyond the realms of possibilities. Run with it today, mate. Run with it. Because if it comes out of your mouth, it will get headlines. My mouth will go, "Oh, it's certainly go off again." I might leave that one to you. Here, weekly. Yeah. Go to, you know, Nottie's sent us in a test and he says, "As one of the nicest people on Earth, I thought he was too Nottie until a few weeks ago." How hard was it for a Gazy as a coach to let players go at the end of the season and all let players know they haven't been selected? So, you know, we're talking, well, you see Xavier Cox, Chris Goulding, Matisse Thieball, Jack White, didn't make the boomers squat. How hard is it to make that call as a human being, first of all? No, that is really difficult. It's a little easier in the club environment if you think a player is going to find a new home. But when you're talking about the Olympics with these things only rolling around once every four years and, you know, it's four years of a long time in sport. So, it's one where you're potentially, you're stopping someone's dream from coming through. So, it's gut-wrenching. It's one of the things when I was playing for the boomers that when you're actually at the Olympic Games, one of the, I think, the biggest obligations that you had was to those players that missed out, because you know how privileged you are, but how much of an obligation you have to them to do your absolute very best, because they would give absolutely anything to be in that position. So, it's a tough one for Brian Gordon, and we're lucky that we're in a situation now where there's three or four players that would be absolutely worthy. And we've got a situation where, if you had five coach, if you could win, you could win the top five coaches in Australia, and you gave them the talent that's available out there. I dare say you wouldn't get the same team from any one of those five such as the talent that we have available. Well, you've just got a message on our screen from our smart-ass producers saying, "We'll get Daisy on another time to talk about the boomers." Ha ha ha. Because we've got the news, Barry. You know how the news works on this network. Yeah. The news is important. Yeah, we've got Daisy. We've had a couple of good warm-up games, USA, six-point beat, Sylvia. Yeah. Everyone beats, sir. Well, USA. No. USA. Do you want to tell them anything? Yeah. No, not everyone beats, sir. I think that is still a medalist in the World Cup last year, and they've got arguably the best player in the world in Yo-Ki each show. It was a fantastic win. I don't know if you saw it, but it was played at that. Our exhibition game was played at a real intense level, but I love the look of our team. Yes, we do have a tough fall, but we'll be greased. I think we're a more than 50% chance of getting over Spain and Canada, so I actually like where we're at, despite others and rightfully acknowledging that we're in a pretty tough fall. A pull of death again. We always get the pull of death in every sport we play, and we get the pull of death. It's not a bad way to describe it, because you've got four incredibly good teams, and the way the system works, even if you finish third, it's only the top two third place finishes to get through. Unlike other pulls where there might be a little game where you can bolster your percentage, I don't see that now, but we have no percentage boosters in our pulls. Appreciate your time, Gazi. We'd love to chat longer, and we probably will during the game. Good idea, boy. We'd love to chat. Good on you, Andrew, Gazi, joining us at Book Native. I should Eddie Ockenden carry the flag quickly. Why not? They are easy. He's been around a long time. He's done some tremendous things. Absolutely. Fifth Olympic Games, Gazi, fifth Olympic Games. Nice work, boy. Thank you, Andrew Gazi, the flag carrier for the Games, of course.
