Scotty Cummings. Good morning. Hello, mate. Hello, everybody. I'm just serious, did one of your stable run yesterday? Yeah, then and fourth. Finished fourth in the last race at Pinjari yesterday, 4 or 5 o'clock. Got it loose. No, fourth, it was solid. I'm not accepting fourth. I was exactly, it was perfectly driven, could have been driven every better, but when you're an owner of a very small part owner of a horse and you go around as an odds-on favourite, and the horse that beat you is a stable mate and it's 20 to 1, yeah. You probably have everybody to get in the car and drive home and get in the game. So I wasn't pleased for the stable. Did you put your phone in the boot and drive home? No. It's got in the car. I had to get home. So I was home. I got home in about 15 minutes from Pinjari. How are you doing driving? No, it's good. The horse went good. Hey, David's horse is going to join us. We love it when the ox comes on. Yeah, I want his thoughts on Jeremy and my govern. Yeah. The gyms will join us, the west coast, he was just before 8 o'clock in the east. It's got his power rankings. Now, you keep these very much under wraps. Yep. And we know that you've sort of been on a bit of a mission, one bloke who is in the list that has been hanging on by the skin of his teeth for a long time. That's Caleb Sirrong. I feel like you're only putting him into a piece of female things. No, no, no. I don't appease anybody because he's a body of work for a long time, but I have my doubts because of the facts that were, and I mentioned them probably, you know, three, four weeks ago, that halfway through the year, 90 odd clearances and 12 of them end up in scores. And you compare it to a nick day cost who has probably five less clearances, but more than double his possessions result in score. So the power rankings, obviously, who are going to have the most influence on their team at the end of the year, the 10 most powerful players as far as the outcome of their game goes. So, Wayne, see what happens to him. Katelyn Parker is going to join us. Katelyn has joined us. Katelyn has joined us. Katelyn has joined us. Katelyn has joined us. Katelyn has joined us. Katelyn Parker is going to join us. Katelyn Parker is going to join us, talking all things Olympics as she heads out there. Of course, serious note, as far as mentors, she's probably going on the top of the tree, wouldn't she? He speaks sense, Gilly. He's been there, done that for a long, long time at the top, and I'm sure he knows about boxing. No. Oh, I wouldn't be worried about getting in a stash with you, Lee, but... Oh, I reckon you're on. You're in me. You're in me. You're in me. Scrappy. No, I think you'd be clinical. Well, you did swing it pretty hard, didn't you? He could hit the ball a long way, so... Oh, yeah. It's the ones you least suspected. Between 12.55 or 048773673636. So the line up today for my cafe, Katelyn Parker, talking all things Olympics, will give you a sports update to our 6.30 bit of good news. Dimonour is through to meet Novak Djokovic. David Schwartz will join us after seven, and Bailey Williams, who did a pretty good job on Max Gordon on the weekend, one of the upsides and what was a pretty flat performance by the West Coast. Still think he's number one rapper. Bit of breaking news this morning as we try and straighten things up. It is my understanding that the West Coast Eagles board meeting is today. This is a planned meeting, non-extraordinary board meeting, and comes as no surprise that Adam Simpson's coaching future will be the number one item on today's agenda. My information is, the board could decide as early as today and announce today that Adam Simpson's time as coach is up, effective immediately. Wow. Wow. That'll be the first time they've done that in season. So you were saying, just back over that, that he'll be gone today. The board is meeting today, a standard board meeting, but Adam Simpson's tenure is the number one item, and it would come as no surprise that Adam Simpson today will be informed. After that board meeting, that his time is up, effective immediately. There's no point staying. If the board has made a decision that Adam Simpson's not the coach moving forward beyond this year, then the next seven weeks will serve as nothing positive for the West Coast Eagles football team. It's a brutal game, isn't it? And we do keep in mind this is a human being, and it's a job that we're talking about. But unfortunately, in this job, there is scrutiny, law and results speak for themselves, and at the moment, we saw signs earlier this year that there was improvement. There was hope. There was no doubt about that, but it certainly dropped off in the last few weeks. It was a rebuild. It was admitted to being a rebuild, and it was going to be a long journey back. And Adam Simpson has not wavered from that. And I'm not saying there was, and everyone keeps piling on about these text messages going around. That is true or not, that's to me, it's the rumblings of unhappiness and messaging falling on deaf ears that you can't have in a football club. And if that's the case, then a change has to happen. Yeah. Look, we've been, all last year and the year before, we've been supporters and saying that there is nothing good will come out of sacking Adam Simpson, and we were strong on that loss. And as I said, there were signs earlier this year, but right now, you probably think it is the case. Just put the text messages in one box and then close it and put it away, because I've never been at a football club where everyone loves the coach, right? And their reports were, there was one senior player and two younger players. You know, those two younger players probably not play or not playing where they want to play. Well, bad luck. Do what your job is, get yourself up for games and do what you paid to do, stop bitching and moaning. Put that aside now, because that happens everywhere. I'm telling you right now, you know, at every club, there are players that don't agree with the coach and the way he's coaching. It happens all the time. So, forget all of that, put that aside, we're talking about performances, their effort and input on weekends is certainly waned. It was dropped off the last couple of, hasn't it? And, you know, that first quarter, that first quarter, anyone says, oh, well, after a quarter of time, they were tight, they only lost by two or three goals. But that first quarter after a stinker the week before, that's where you make your statement. That's where you say, boy, it's unacceptable, we need to respond and we need to answer. And they said that all week that they were going to, and then they come and have seven kicked against them in the first quarter. So you can argue whether it's the players' responsibility to get themselves up, but at some stage, there's also the coaches' responsibility to get them up. And if you can't do that anymore, then you have to find someone who can. What they do now, glossy, is what, who do you believe will be the interim coach? They just have to go do a Matthew Knight's and or a Jarrus Gofield. Right. So would either of those two, if they have, I'm not sure where Matthew Knight sits as far as future coaching opportunities or aspirations go, but Jarrus Gofield wants to be a senior coach, I'd imagine. Would you want that? Because he's an interim coaching role can be an absolute killer, sometimes of all hopes and dreams for future coaches. I don't think you'd knock it back. I think if you get seven weeks to put yourself out there and if you're an assistant coach and they've got to take a large chunk of responsibility for the way this team has played and their roles. Absolutely. Not just Adam Simpson. He's the man at the front. He's paid the big bucks and he gets the adulation as a premiership coach. Yeah, but as you know, when things are going really well, he's got a great amount of great supporting coaches behind him. He's got great support staff and their ideas are brilliant. And when things are going bad, the coaches know good and we'll put in one of those assistants that obviously hasn't done much. And we're not in the four walls, because you're closer than I am, but we're not in the walls where you might hear a Jarrus Gofield say, "Sam, we need to do this. We need to do this. We need to do this." And Sam, I said, "No, we're not doing it. I don't know if that happens or not." But at the end of the day, the assistant coaches have a big role to play. We ever looked at their comments the other week about Sam Mitchell's influence in the '18 premiership. And obviously it was all Sam Mitchell, if we look at it now. Well, that's not right or true, but he obviously had a big impact. I think it's a tough one, but you know what, if you are going in as the interim coach from West Coast right now to save yourself and to save the club and what they should have been doing earlier, in my opinion only, is have a look at every player, have a look at them all. The ones that are performing well that are going to go, that possibly could take into the future of this rebuild, play them, play true, play give him so, we're going to give you four weeks, not play you as a sub, see how you go and then drop you, or play one game and then drop you, play Hall, see what he's like, and let them see what they've got. That's a rebuild. So just clarifying, it is not an extraordinary board meeting, it is a planned board meeting. Adam Simpson's coaching tenure is on the agenda, in fact it's number one ticket item on the agenda, and my understanding is the board will make a decision today on Adam Simpson's coaching future and one would imagine his time is up, effective immediately, and that could all be played out within the 24 hours and maybe by sundown today. Your thoughts 13, 12, 55, 0, 4, 8, 7, 7, 3, 6, 7, 3, 6, again these are just information that I've been gifted last night, late last night, and there's been a lot of these type of speculations gone over a long period of time about when, where, why and how, I think you'd have to be not understanding the football landscape, if you think Adam Simpson will be coaching next year, Adam Simpson wants to remain in the position, Adam Simpson will receive a hefty payout of his contract, but West Coast Eagles will move and then I did speak to someone last night after receiving that information about and I did take it beyond and said what about 2025 and beyond, Dean Cox clearly, Chris Scott, you've got to pick up the phone and call Chris Scott, the name that keeps popping up from two two contacts inside football is Jamie Graham. So Jamie Graham is a senior assistant down at Fremantle, was it West Coast, came close to getting some senior gigs, there's mixed reports about Jamie, whether they think he can elevate to the next level, but there is also some strong support inside the West Coast Eagles for Jamie Graham as a senior coach. So if Dean Cox doesn't take it and they can't maybe get a Chris Scott of the light, don't be surprised if Jamie Graham's name doesn't continue to make headlines and that would be huge because the eye intel that he can bring out of Fremantle at the moment, I don't know how they're travelling, would be huge and he was at West Coast, he stepped away from the football club, which is often the smartest thing to do and now he could possibly imagine how good that would be for Jamie Graham, the West Coast Eagles are not so great for Fremantle and West Coast would be certainly considering Jamie Graham's decision. And then for supporters who are out there going, I'm not sure about that one, forget about playing careers and all that sort of stuff because a great player doesn't make you a great coach but there's been surprises in the coaching ranks when you see them get appointed and you go, oh yeah, I'm not sure about that and turn out to be the great people persons, great motivators, great orators and they get a good result and surround themselves with good people, put a good plan together, the way you go. We'll see how this all plays out today. Can I ask you another question then? The board meeting is on. How much responsibility do the board have to take? They'll take some, they've got to take some, but the chairman is going. Yeah but that's a rostered thing, he's never been going. I guess three years. Yeah but Paul Fitzpatrick is going, so just got to find another chairman and there'll be the time is up, I mean, I'm not so sure, I mean I don't think they made the wrong decision not sacking Adam Simpson last year, I mean they have improved, they have improved, and I think if you're an Eagles fan you would admit they have improved but the last couple of weeks there's some hardcore warning signs. Warning signs for a disinterested playing group and if the messaging is falling on deaf ears and Adam's message is not getting through, then for Adam and the players and the club and the fans a decision has to be made. So there will be changes at board level as well but how far we dig on that at the moment let's talk about the team and seven weeks to go and what they do with Adam Simpson. He spoke on Channel 7 last night, he was asked about whether he wanted to get any clarity on his future. This was Adam Simpson's response. I look, I haven't really thought about that, but I'm just trying to do my job as best I can and I'm trying to explain what we're trying to do and what we're trying to get better at and there's going to be some weeks where we're poor and some weeks we achieve our goals and I thought the earlier part of the season we had some really good results, some four quarter performances that were really good and there's a few games in the last month or so that have been pretty disappointing so I can sort of understand the rhetoric around there but it doesn't change my vision or my goal or what we're trying to do as a club and we're just trying to get better at the moment and be more consistent on a weekly basis. We sort of went through this last year, didn't we? We'll work through it, we'll keep conversations pretty open and we'll keep moving forward and we'll get a decision made. Correct and that might be to date. Now, interesting enough, a lot of people are coming through with ideas and thoughts of coaches and what could happen next and the like. Scotty from Scubbs does make it funny, I wouldn't say it's a funny point, the board worked together last night or late yesterday afternoon, now at the footy club all the board driving in and everyone went into meltdown mode as the media do in this town when the board meets, they were purely there for the announcement of the AFLW captains at the West Coast. Do they announce someone who's injured? No, they announced the same captain, Emma Swanson. Terrific. Tom O's, he's half taken the piss here but let's go full insular. Scotty had Coach Graham and Hanson and his assistants get the band back together, haha. Well, the thing is with that is that your point before was a really strong one. Scotty, yep, massive part of the football club left and it's been at a really strong organisation for a long time. Graham, as you've already mentioned, a free-mail Hanson, he's been at the Bulldogs, he's been at Carlton, he's probably one other. They've been outside, they've been outside, so whether they have Eagles history, I think that's a good thing, but they've also gone and left and found other IP and developed themselves as well. So, coming back, it might not be as intular as you think. A lot of people keep telling us too and messaging it's all to do with Harley Red, they've got to make a change or they'll lose Harley Red. Harley Red's hooking it up because he's not happy with the coach and Harley Red needs to roll up because Harley Red's got three years at West Coast, Harley Red will probably sign for another year, a new coach may give him some energy but I think Adam Simpson's been pretty damn supportive of Harley Red since coming to the football club and I think there's any angst there whatsoever. He's been begging for people to give him a spell and give him some space and no, that being supportive there and if that was the case, he's thought he looks like it a little bit in the last couple of weeks, but I don't think I've seen anyone have to deal with what Harley Red's had to deal with in his first 15 games of football, it's been extraordinary and yeah, of course he's got some grown up to do, he's 18, he's 19, absolutely he does but that's not the problem, that's not the problem at all. Twenty-five six, just a reminder after seven o'clock, David Schwartz of course, we'll also be talking Olympics with Kaitlyn Parker and Bailey Williams will join us at 745 fingers cross that will go ahead, that is coming up alrighty, let's take a break and come back. Mate, just after watching the game on the weekend with the Eagles, I remember saying my young bloke then who was watching with me, that this will be the last game that Adam sent to coaches, whether that's true or not. We'll wait and see today, I guess, Goss. Yep. But also, just on Harley, now, I'm not going to eat a young player. He's a good player. He's going to be a great player. But I'm not sure if anyone's noticed or not, but he seems to be playing selfish football, I think. Just my opinion, he's left this end off thing to his head. Now, I was watching last week, actually, that not this week, last week. He had Yo and another Eagles player, which I don't know who it was on the outside of him with no one around him. But he took on two tracklers and tried to send them off and got caught holding a ball. And you can see the disappointment in Yo's face. Now, if he had got that ball over the top of it, followed up or whatever, or just got it out to him, they had no one between them and the 50. You know what I mean? Like, what's your thought I'm at? I look, I agree with you. I agree with you on a couple of things, Chris, that does look a little bit of selfish footy. But again, he's going to grow and he'll also grow up and he'll get the whole hang of things really, really soon. And he's so very young, regardless of how much talent he's got and how good he's going to be. Yeah, he's got a lot of things he's got to work on, no doubt about that. But when it comes to, if there's an obvious handle on, yeah, but you also don't want to stop Harley Reid being Harley Reid, and that is taking on the tackler. That's something that we've marveled about. He actually seeks out that contact and the don't argues and those sort of things. So you don't want to take that away from him. If he's got that in him, then yes. And sometimes when that's in your game, you're going to get binged on the ball. But so you've got to sort of find a little balance there of giving the obvious one. And because if he breaks those tackles, we're marveling about how strong and how good he is. So you don't want to stop him. You don't want to stop him, but Harley doing Harley things. Yeah, no, I totally agree with that. But yeah, as you said, he's got to grow and learn the piggies times, when to do them and not to do it, I guess. Yeah. And you know what, the focus, Gosson, is all Harley Reid and how long he'll stay for and all that sort of stuff. That's not the problem. Harley Reid can play and he's going to be a terrific footballer. We know that. The problem is recruiting the players that I have on their list right now, who can play and who can't play, who's going to be there later? The Harley Reid's not the issue. Put Harley Reid aside, however long he stays for, great. Now he stays forever. But it's the players that, you know, from probably, you know, most clubber suppliers from 20 to 35 that you sort of analyse. But West Coast, it's more players from, say, 12 to 30 that are probably not up to it. Or that's the issue. Recruiting list management has been the issue for a long time. So it's sort of going to take that away from Sima as well. Appreciate your call, Chris. There it is. If you agree with Chris on the Harley Reid, and again, you don't probably want to stifle Harley Reid's style at the same time, he's got to give the ball when the ball needs to be given. First thought, there's often the best thought. 13, 12, 55, took it down by open line on a temporary bed, said text 0487736736, talking to Olympics next, Caitlin Parker. And after seven o'clock, the ox, your calls, your texts, and the power rankings. Got a feeling, got a serious feeling. There is to be a substantial name emerge. Find out more after seven o'clock. 15 degrees, heading for a top at 22. Caitlin Parker talking boxing, and the Paris Olympics next. # I feel alive # # Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah # It's got to be a goss, smack on a quarter to seven. After seven o'clock, David Schwartz, the ox, the power rankings, your calls, and your texts, and just repeating the news that once Coast Eagles board does meet today, not an extraordinary meeting, a standard board meeting. But Adam Simpson's coaching tenure will be on the agenda. We'll find out more. Grab 24 chicken McNuggets for $9.95. Get more for your money at Maccas. Caitlin Parker is a name that's been on our show before, because of your predecessor, of course. Friend of the show. Yeah, friend of the show. 'Cause Gilly was absolutely, was just saying, "Get behind Caitlin Parker and her push. "It's her third Olympics last day." So good. How good. Hey, Caitlin. Congratulations on one being in the boxing team, but two being the captain. Thank you so much, and I will correct you. It's actually my second Olympics. I tried for three, but this is my second. That's all right. Oh, what happened the first time then? Yeah, you let us down. You let the whole country down, you let your family down. You let Gilly down. Oh, yeah, trust me. I had to work for that, but, yeah, now I'm here for my second Olympic, then we need to try and make history, that's for sure. Let's talk about the first one then, because you went to Tokyo and it didn't go the way you wanted, Caitlin. What have you learned? Well, first of all, congratulations on your second Olympics, 'cause it's bloody amazing. But what did you learn at the first one? Thank you so much. Well, like I said, when I found out women's boxing was being introduced in the Olympics for the first time in 2012, I made my goal Rio, the 2016 Olympics. Tried so hard for that, went to the international qualifiers and didn't make it absolutely gutting. So, four years later, here we go for Tokyo. I'll put everything into that. Made Tokyo, that was the happiest moment of my entire life, qualifying. When my hand got raised in the ring, I fell to the ground, I was happy tears, and I got up and I was like, "Oh, yeah, I've still got to thank my opponent and stuff." You know, I was overwhelming, unreal, but yeah, obviously going to Tokyo, just not having kind of the preparation that I would have loved. I'd just kind of gone over to Melbourne and got stuck in lockdown, so couldn't go to the gym or anything for seven months, stuck at home, but it wasn't what I wanted and what I knew I was capable of. I only ended up making top nine. So, again, massive amount of learnings there. This time round, I've qualified, I'm ready to go. The self-belief is really there this time. I've made a lot of improvements. So, the girl that I lost to at the Tokyo Olympics, I fought her last year at the World Championships, got my revenge, I've got the win. So, that just kind of proved to, not only myself, but to everyone, but the improvement had been made and we're so ready for Paris. Brilliant stuff. So, yeah, so what did you take out of that Olympic experience? What's the number one thing? Is it preparation is absolutely vital? The experience of being at the village, being around other superstar Olympians. Just tell us a bit about what you're going to take out of the last to now. So, I really, as soon as I stepped out of that ring, when I didn't get the win, I, yeah, like I said, I was gutted and I really just decided to strip everything back and see. I contemplated maybe moving weight divisions to see how I go, things like that, but what really changed and what I've improved since then is my inside game. So, for boxing, because I'm actually not that tall for my division, I fight in the 75 kilo middleweight division and I'm about 175 centimetres tall, but there's people that are like, you know, foot plus taller than me. So, what I've decided to work on a lot more since then is just getting into range, getting into that mid range and just working a lot more. But, like, I try to think about Mike Tyson and I hope that I can bring that through and everyone can see that, but that's kind of my inspiration, just get in there and just fight a bit more rather than staying out too long out of their range. - Caitlin Parker is our guest, Australian Olympic boxing team, Captain Lee for Europe today, going to Germany for a training camp and then on to Paris. Of course, we've got a text from Jonesy, who's a regular listener to our show. He says, "Kate Parker, Katie Parker is a Deadset legend. She started in Taekwondo and is the reason why Harry, Maggie and Ziggy went to boxing. We've met her and watched her fight. Good luck, Katie, and also good luck to everyone from Western Australia that's going to Olympic." So there's a fan who's listening to the show. - Thank you so much, I appreciate that. - Yeah, and you've made their three kids go into boxing. So, you know, fine, I'm not on your mums, raps, but yeah, I want to ask you where it all started for you because, you know, obviously research gets done, Katie. And you had your first fight when you were 13 out of Gosnell's gym. Now, my question is, was that a sanctioned fighter? Was that just one in the car park? Or, you know, it's Gosnell, and you were 13. - Yeah. - And how did it all start for you? - Yeah, well, yeah, I was raising of most of my life. And so the boxing gym that I went to, I was, yeah, I was 11 when I started, but I didn't compete until I was 13. And I was a bit taller than most people of my age. So I was about nearly the same weight I am now, 13. So finding people my age and weight was a bit hard. So I ended up having to get in the ring for the first time against a 25-year-old woman. Now, it was an exhibition match. So it wasn't actually a win or a loss or anything like that. But to get in the ring for the first time against a full-grown woman wasn't experienced. But, I don't know, people back then told me I'm at the better of it, but I just like to think, you know, I'll take what I want. - Absolutely. We touched on it at the start. Gilly, Gilly mentoring you, he's been all over us. So you've got to get the carland park on. What's fucked you before on the show? And Gilly is an absolute fan and a mentor for you. Ever since he's been doing his Prairie Fire podcast and travelling the world looking for a tequila manufacturer and the like in Mexico, has he dropped off the carland parker bandwagon or are you still here from the great thing? - No, so yeah, he was my mentor since 2015. I got a scholarship with the Sports Australia Hall of Fame. So they kind of partnered us up together. And I was stoked, but my dad was really, really happy. (laughing) - You got Gilly hoo. - Loves him. (laughing) So no, and it was really great to just obviously pick his brain, get a guy, boxing and cricket, completely different sports. But a lot of athletes go through similar emotions and experiences and was able to really get some great knowledge off of him. But he will still give me message. I know he's a busy man. He will still message me before a big competition. He will wish me luck, give me advice. So he's such a legend. - All right, well, we were talking just before. Do you reckon Gilly can go a bit? We're not sure. - What, in the ring? - Yeah, the ring would be scrappy. Goss said he'd be really technical. - No, technical, very. - And clinical, big lefty around here. - No, I'm not sure. I'm not sure he'd cop too many. - Maybe we'll ask him if he wants to jump in the ring for an exo. Who's going to fight him? One of you two? - Yeah, no thanks. And Pash, you've got to get his ears in the helmet too. That wouldn't do you. Hey. (laughing) - No, hang on, let me slow blow. - That's all it was. - Let's just say blow the belt, very true. So what's your expectation? Katie, what's your abs, Callum? What's your expectation? What do you think you can achieve over there in Paris? - Right, so I know that I'm capable of winning the gold medal. Now, I say that because at the World Championship last year, I got a silver medal. I lost sort of very close split decision to the hometown girl from India in India. So I know that I am capable of winning that gold as long as I compete, so as long as I have the best kind of performance in the ring that I can bring out everything that I've been working on, practicing. I've been doing my study on all of my opponents. So Australia is never won an Olympic gold medal in boxing before and no woman has ever won a medal. So I really just want to create history and bring it home for Australia. - Yes, yeah, well, yes. - And you're not going to sort of say you're a pseudo-victorian. Are you going to tell everyone you're from Perth? Because I know you go in between Victoria and here, but you are a Perth girl, aren't we? We're going with that? - Oh, yeah, look, hey, yeah. WA girl, born and raised. And I have been over there for the past, they are five years of training and stuff. So, no, I'm bringing it home for WA. Also, I'll say Victoria as well. - No, no, no, there's a graphic on the... - They're going to say, they're going to say, they're going to say... - They're going to say, they're going to say... - They're going to say, they're going to blow it right down. - They're going to blow it right down. - They're going to blow it right down. - They're going to say, they're going to say... - They're going to say, they're going to say, they're going to say... - They're going to say, they're going to say... - They're going to say, they're going to blow it right down. - They're going to blow it right down. - They're going to blow it right down. - They're going to say, they're going to say, they're going to say... - They're going to say, they're going to blow it right down. - I'm proud of you. - Oh, God. - Congratulations on being the captain and go over there and do your thing. - Thank you so much. - Kalen Parker joining us. - Heading to the Olympics, heading to Europe today, heading to Germany. She said, "Good life, isn't it?" - Oh, you're laughing. - I'm getting the ring and put your body on the line and have someone want to knock your head off. - He's a good girl. - And any girl that Gilly supports is our girl, so we're on board there for Kalen Parker. We'll be watching her over there in the Paris. - We're still Australian. - Yep. History making squad. First Indigenous woman to Box for Australia. - Brilliant. - The Olympics is Marissa Williamson-Polman. The first Muslim Australian woman to Box for the Olympics will be Tina Rahimi. And the first woman to Box at two Olympics? Guess who? - Yeah, girl. - Kalen Parker. - And for a brief moment, she was going to her third Olympics. All righty. After seven o'clock, the Ox will join us. Talking all things footy. The power rankings, your calls, your texts, just repeating a West Coast Eagles board meeting plan is today. We may know more. Adam Simpson's tenure. Today. Keep an ear on our Anesians throughout the day. 22 degrees is the max. ♪♪♪ Scotty and Goss, the second hour, 15 degrees. As mentioned there in the news, heading for a top of 22. Bit of rain around today, so be careful. The power rankings are not far away. Mark Duffield after eight o'clock on Bailey Williamson, the West Coast Eagles. But let's talk to AFL nation and Melbourne champion and home handyman, David Schwartz. The Ox is here for Sonos, multi-room listening, wireless home theatre and more. G'day Ox. Goss, Scotty. Are we being positive again today or can we go whack? Yarrow the knuckle. Oh, good. - Niscient. We'll be out of a comfort zone last week. I first thought before we hit you with the serious stuff. Jeremy McGovern, he's got some ribs and a lung. Maybe he's starting Melbourne overnight with his week. Week, Scotty. Week. And when he's got a split split, he's hitting himself. Trying to be as tough as the tracker, is he? No, not good. - I thought so. - Not good. I made on a serious note. Goss has run with him, believes that Adam Simpson will be told today that he's no longer required. Now you've played for Melbourne, so you would have been in this position a couple of times. I've been seeing the coaches come and go. Where you see West Coast out in the way they're playing at the moment, is this the right call to be made right now? Well, Scotty, I remember vividly when John Naughty got the bullets. And what was it about? It was about 90, more than 92. She was 92. And one gets where I was, Scotty, when I found out that John Naughty was gone. - In the car? - I was on Little Bull's spare at Mount Buller, skiing. It came across things on all these points, so it's never a good time when you're a player. Because at any one time at any footy club, you'll know this. There are 10 players that love the coach that are in these good books. There's 20 players that couldn't give a raps who are just good players and they know they're safe. And there'd be 10 nervous players knowing that if he goes, I'm in trouble because he's probably protected me and my former isn't playing up the script. So there'd be a lot of nervous West Coast Eagles players at the moment. Look, he's had a long time, hasn't he? I think he's had enough. Their form is flaking it best. And I think they show it against Melbourne when they get going. They're actually OK. But something's not clicking there. So unfortunately, the semi's had a really good run out of it. But sometimes, you know, everyone gets a sack eventually unless you pull ruse. Everyone gets the sack, so you just got to accept it. - There's only two types of coaches. One's that have been sacked and ones that will be at some stage. But the thing is, I said that when you look at teams like Port Adelaide, when Kenny Inkley's under pressure, they sort of respond. When Luke Beveridge has been under pressure, the Bulldogs have responded. But the whole talk last week was how West Coast are going to respond. They're going to respond against Melbourne after their poor performance against Hawthorne. And then they go out there and have seven kicked on them in the first. That's not a response. - No, it wasn't. It was poor though. They got a blitter right. Yeah, they showed a little bit in the second and third and fourth quarters. But the damage was done and it was over. I just hope, Goss, you make big calls. You've got to wear the brunt of it for the next seven days. And I can promise you now, I wore the brunt of it last week after Dustin Martin. So I hope you're ready to go with it. I hope you're ready to just get what comes your way. - All I've done is state what I know and I know that there is a board meeting today and it's not an extraordinary board meeting. It is the planned board meeting that Adam Simpson's tenure is on the agenda. And if the board decide today that he is not the coach next year, then that decision will be made today. And therefore, one would imagine Adam Simpson will go effective immediately. That is my information. - Yeah. So that's all you do. You just go with what you've been told and away you go. And the truth will set us free. The truth will set us free. - Yeah, well, what's your week last week after your Dusty... - Well, it means it wasn't '98, '98. - You've got back-to-back-on-air show. - You've got back-to-back-to-back. - We love having you on, mate. - The truck and the Dusty were... - Yeah, well, I didn't get death threats, but I certainly got... I got some strong feedback. I thought I was actually a good bloke. And I thought that people like me. It's not true. I don't like me. - Thank you, men. Thank you, men. It's not the worst. - Oh, goodness, mate. I'd have a good outlook in the mirror. But no, I'm okay. I'm okay. Well, no one's denied it other than that of me. So I am the coach has to deny it. So although I'll stick with it for now and we'll see how we go. I'm still 100%, so we'll be right. - Absolutely, mate. Stick with what you know. Hey, we disappointed to see Carlton's run coming to an end there with their loss to the AWS. - Oh, I was calling it first year. And I said to my fellow callers, Joe and John at quarter time, I said, "There'll be nothing sweeter than the GWs get back into this, David." 39 points down, 36 points up. It was an amazing game. And I think that's what footy is at the moment. It can swing so quickly. The 666 will just, you know, enable sides to get a run on. And momentum has probably never been bigger in the game as I felt. So I'm really liking the footy at the moment. Loving how sides can get a big run on and score quickly. But yeah, for Carlton to go down, it wasn't, it wasn't my sound. It's not a kind of drive home, just in a really good mood. Scotty, you know, just driving down the freeway and just wondering life and thinking, "This is beautiful." - All righty, do you see any resemblance to your own style? To that of Josh Tracy at the Fremantle Football Club? - Not really. I really like Josh. I think when you've got to play the presence of the footy competes like he does, they're rare because he keeps coming up and over it. And Scotty, you would have watched him more closely than I have been. He gets the running positions right and he hits the contest. And that's what you want from the big fellas. And then the goals will come and, you know, we have a plan that we get to four contests a quarter. You know, four good marking contests a quarter. That's 16 for the game. If you get to that, you're going to be a little fellas into it. And you're going to grab a couple. So now his improvement, his curve is beautiful. It's exactly what I think Fremantle needed. They were kind of looking, you know, having a bit of rejection. And when you have someone like that standing up and performing, you go, "Yeah, that's a bonus." So he's good and he's going to get better. And I think that's exciting for Fremantle supporters. - I think Josh is right. There are some comparisons too of compared his work rate to Nick Rewals. But his love of the contest and the physicality of it as well is very similar to you. But one of the most important things and what you mentioned there is he gets his starting position right. But his relationship with his midfielders too. They're all on the same page now. So he doesn't actually need to move until the ball's key because they know where he's going to be. And he has that relationship now which is just outstanding. - Isn't it amazing too when you start finding a bit of form how the ball just seems to be attracted to you. You know, we're seeing it with Waterman. We're seeing it with, you know, when forward start hitting their straps, everybody looks up and they just see that play out. And then they work it out of training pretty quickly. And then that continues on into the game. And, you know, he's got a conference of his teammates. And I think that's the key to actually getting more fully coming your way. I don't know what the numbers would say, but I would say they're going to him a third at the time when they're going inside. - Last two weeks Sydney have lost. Carlton lost. Fremantle are in form. Essendon are up and down. Geelong are up and down. Porter are up and down. Brisbane are coming. GWS look like they're coming. And then you go Collingwood, Melbourne, Bulldog, Gold Coast, who are up and down. It is so hard. If you had to find four teams to get to preliminary final week on what you've seen so far with seven rounds to go, give me the four teams. - Yeah, I definitely see me. They're okay. So they're fine. You know, they've lost three games of a total of eight points. So they're going to be okay. Carlton, 100% will be there. They've got the firepower and they've got the midfield. And as long as we're doing stays fit, they're okay. So what's locked those two in as absolute givens. I'm going to say if Peter breaks my heart, if they beat Melbourne, if they beat Melbourne Friday night, they're going to be in the top four. So it's a huge game for them. It's a huge game for the Deeds as well. So we can either close the gap or the gap board. And so I think to get some more get Melbourne, so they don't know why. But I've just got this feeling that they're a mongrel side. They're just saying, "Oh, I hate them." Anyway, they are going to get excellent. And let's take Brisbane. I think Brisbane's run home. He's going to ensure that they're going to win enough games to certainly be there. And you talk about firepower and you talk about going through the midfield. You know, lucky me, it's probably going to win another brand. Does that hurt three men or supporters still? Are we content with losing lucky and the picks that we got for him? Well, no. Remember, he was out. He was trying to get back. I remember. Yeah. So he was desperate to come home. But he sort of got exposed. Ryan Daniels from Channel 7 exposed him for the story and he had to go back, Cap and Andrew Brisbane. We have this conversation about Devon Robinson. Devon Robinson, who was out in the door last year, went back to the club the day after the club champion, got talked out into staying in Brisbane. Now I can't get a game and look at West Coast. Yeah. It is, you know, it's fighting doors. Absolutely. You've got to pick your moments and you've got to find your foreman. Yep. You know, sometimes another play comes along and that's why the very good players. There's no surprise that the stars of the competition are flying now. Around 15 to around 90, it's really hard. It's hard on the body. We're seeing, you know, crypts is flying. We're seeing lucky meal fly. Clayton Oliver is actually starting to find some form again. All the really good players, they've done a ton of pre-seasons. They just get better and better as he goes on where the younger players, they drop off a bit. You know, Harley, it's been a big long year for him. You know, his form's not nearly what it was. But first year player, we can obviously give him, you know, we can cut him with a few bit of slack. This is where the good players get going when it's really hard and the season's been long and lack of recovery and six day breaks and the buyers are finished now. This is where you will see all the really good players that have done a ton of work. They get the rewards. I'd say he's going to challenge his, I think they called it a high fend off. I saw a swinging on the face, but my mind would say something differently. Any chance, do you give him any chance at all of getting off? None. None. None. So they'll just lose 10 grand. But, you know, if he's my player, I'd be fine for him too. Because, you know, every accolade he's got, and we know what he's got. And he's not a dirty player. He just got it wrong. So that's okay. A couple of week and you move on. So he's not the first player that's been a brand life favourite to get reported this week. So you'll deal with it. There's no way, there is no way in hell that he gets off that. There is no way whatsoever. No matter how good his lawyer is, you could have Dennis the new dope. He's not getting off that one week. He's a really good bloke though. Oh, you know, the good bloke factor now. Yeah, so, well, maybe he might get off on the good bloke factor. And he's a good looking rooster and he's a pin-up boy of the city's swans. And if he goes in without his shirt on, which he does regularly, he might be a champ. I just don't think it was intentional. I don't think it was intentional. No, it doesn't matter. But that's what he's been charged with. He's been charged with intention. He's been charged with intention. But it was an accident that happened on the football field. And for me, if you run from over and kill him, you're going to be charged with manslaughter. That's the rule. Sometimes that's happened. You've got to wear the consequences. He has done that fend off style. Ten times a game. You can possibly be. So if he does it ten times a game, he breaks ten nodes and he's unacceptable. No, but that's what I'm saying. He does it ten times. He breaks one nose and all of a sudden it's an intentional act. No, he can't do that. Oh, so only a one-gate-goss. One-gate. Please. Come on. Come on. If you break someone's nose, if you fend off and it's an accident, you don't know he's there. It's still your responsibility. It's behind the play. It's the given advantage. There wasn't behind the play. He was the next man in the league. No. The ball wasn't in the vicinity. Well, that's not behind the play. It's coming his way. No, but it's still, it's considered behind the play because it's not where the ball is. And they changed the rule specifically for that reason. If you fend off and you cause injury, you're going to be accountable. A lot of people don't mean to bump and hit them in the head, but they do. And they couple of weeks. That's why Jesse Hogan punched a guy on head. That was different. Anyway. Can we talk about Jesse? Yeah, go ahead. It's an amazing redemption story because his lifestyle of Melbourne was no good. His lifestyle of Fremantle was no good. And he's now the pennies dropped and all credit to him because I think most of us in the footy world, it was thought that we'd lost a really good talent and he'd underperformed. But what he's delivering, what under Jesse and what under the crew that have got him going because I think he needs a fair bit of importance. Maximum coaching votes on the weekend for Jesse Hogan too. Are they back in business and what you saw? I know it's one game. They've been poor for a large part of it, GWS. But are they back in town like Brisbane are back in town? Yeah, they are because they've got the little fellas that are actually starting to get their hands on the footy. When Bedford and Daniels and the like are starting, and Jones, he's a good little player once. You know, those little fellas, and once they get their handball going, I still think their handball game is as good as anyone in the competition. So they're dangerous. Well, you're going to have to beat GWS now. They're not going to roll over like they did four weeks ago. All righty. Now we're being a Tuesday morning. You've got to do your tips very early because this is a wig out. I'm good at this. I know. I know. You've got four last week. You've got four. That was good. That was on Monday. I get to do them on a Friday and I've got four mates alone. I took down to the round and got in the morning. Righty. Calling with G-Long MCG Friday night. Jelon. Jelon, I think we talk about the stronger bodies. I think Colin Woods hunger is not there. So the catch for me. Yeah, they go on the positive, isn't it? Nice. Hawthorne free mantle in Tassie. Yeah. This will be, I think, the game of the round. I haven't been a believer in Hawthorne. I'm not a believer. I watched them pretty closely on Saturday. They would be supporting. I think they'll bounce back and they'll be a free member. And Jelon put a little bit of a hint in their run. So Hawthorne for mine. I can't believe I'm saying it. Sydney are hosting North Melbourne at the SCG. This will be a bloodbath. This could be Sydney by long way. They're going to be very, very angry. Very, very angry, Gus. The unreliable Bulldogs take on the Blues. Marvel. Yeah, give me the Blues. Oh, I can't trust. I can't trust the Western Bulldogs. Northern will be out. Who's the other one? They lost another player as well. Katie Waipman, you see back? Oh, I don't know yet. I don't know. Oh, come on. You get your finger on the pulse. I'll say the boys, say the boys. Adelaide's secured a 15th versus 4-8. Yeah. Adelaide wins this. They'll win. They're actually good against Brisbane. And they've seen the match-up really well against Brisbane. No. What's his name's out before weeks? Which is not a good thing. Rankin. I say Rankin. Rankin. There you go. I'm standing in the road in Winongo. I've got leaking rooms everywhere. I'm not a trade. I've got... I don't see that happening everywhere. So, all of that ranking out. I'll say you are the Adelaide Crowns. Yeah. Alrighty. Melbourne Essington. Oh, this is easy. These... They're back. They're back in a big way. They're back in a big way. And also, I'm going to tell you this. I'm going to tell you this. If they win this game, they'll make the top four. Right. They're Rockwinds. Yeah, what's his name? Who? They're Rockwinds. He's gone. Amazing. He's gone mate. He's gone. What do you mean, Max? Yeah, he's only got a little twisted ankle. Yeah, no, no. Two or three weeks. What do you mean, Max? Two or three. Two or three. You're joking. Put a mattress on it and put that up. Alright. Alright. Alright. Essington, win it easily. Gold Coast Port Adelaide. Gold Coast. Up there. Unbeatable. Richmond Giants. MCG. Uh... Giants. Giants will win that, but it'll be closer to what people think. West Coast Brisbane. Perth. Keep in mind, if they let go of the coast today, you know what happens. You know what happens the week after. I'm going to play West Coast. I'm going to play West Coast in the upset of the month. Yeah. Get back on the roof. See you later. Thanks for joining us. I love you, too. I really do love you. We do, too. We do. We do. AFL Nation, Melbourne Champion, Davidsworth. Got to love him. Tradesman. Not. Sonos, multi-room listening. Wireless home theatre on a whole lot more experience. Game-changing sound with the season. After the break. And 7.30. We've got our news not too far away. In fact, before the news, we'll get our power rankings out the way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's really starting to wear me down. Well, we've only got 7 weeks to go. Do you hear the no? Duffs after 8 o'clock. And Bailey Williamson, the West Coast Eagles. Scotty Ingalls. [Music] Trying for the power rankings with Scotty. His top 10 stands. Max Gorn. Caleb Sirromant 9. Charlie Kurno. 8. He's just hanging on. 7 Zatch Merit. 6 Patty Cripps. 5 Errol Gordon. 4 Chad Warner. 3 Isaac Heaney. 2 Marcus Bontempley. And 1 Josh. Not Nick. No. Nick. Not Josh Dakos. OK. I'm looking forward to this. I don't really. But anyway. I don't care. There's two outs. And there's two ins. Whoa. That's a change. There is. All right. I'm pretty obvious who's going to go out. Who? Who? Well. John, you tell me who you think. Well, I think Max Gorn will go because he's injured. And he hasn't been great. No. He's got his colors to Bailey Williams. He's coming up after 7.30. And I don't think Melbourne are going to have a big say in the year. So Max is going. You're not going to. You're almost sleeping with Charlie Kurno. So I'm not going to be in. I'm not. We're just friends. Hello, Nimes. It has to be Caleb Sirall. It is Caleb Sirall. He comes out at the end of the day. Great, Captain Greco. And again, no. Great reasonable man. Now, it wasn't induced to be. Now he's reasonable, Ray. They can win games without Caleb Sirall having a massive influence. But they cannot win games now without Josh Tracy having a massive influence. So Josh Tracy comes into number 10. I think he is now. Arguably, they're the most important player where he takes his marks. The supply that won not only the goals that he kicks, but also how important he is to Amos. How important he is to their entire forward structure. And also their exiting structure out of the back line where he takes marks across half-back. And he takes marks under pressure across half-back. And if they're most players who would drop those. They go out of bounds, all of a sudden there's a ball up 60 metres out of the opposition's goal. Rather than him taking a mark down there and putting it down into half-forwarded freemails on. So the territory that he gets as well. Josh Tracy is their most important player. He comes in at number 10. Locky Neal. What? Ray has texted. What? Just trust us. Thank you for leaving. I don't do this. Yeah. Well, Ray, I'm interested. We'll talk on Monday. Oh, you can keep texting. I think they can win without Caleb's wrong player and a blinder. But they can't win without Josh Tracy. Locky Neal in. Locky Neal comes in at number 9. So out goes Gorn and Sorong. Locky Neal comes in at 9. Joey Koonos hanging on at 8. I've still got faith. I was listening to Manny Lloyd talk about him. And yep, the Lloyd is absolutely bang on the money. But I've still got faith that Charlie Koonos got to have a really big impact towards the end of the season. So that merit is possibly the best captain in the game at the moment. It stays at 7. I've flipped over Gordon and Crips. Because Crips is coming with a bullet. So Gordon's at 6 and Crips is coming to number 5. What he's doing? There he is just unbelievably good and so important to them. So important to everyone around him as well. Makes them better. Warners at four heany three. Bont dude. Nick Davis does it. Number one. Nice work. He's got his power rankings. You'll see him up on our socials. Mark Duffield in after 730. Just tell us what's coming up on the show. Bailey Williamson the Eagles. She'll call. Her text. Mark Duffield for those who don't know was on Channel 10 News last night. Channel 10 News last night. And he was sitting in this very studio. Scottie in front of the Mark Duffield morning show. Yeah. The card was on the 10 News last night. Really? Yeah, he was starring on the big screen. Brilliant. Anyway, let's get some news. It's up past 7. So those are the top 10 for power rankings. Tracy 10. Neil 9. Merritt Gordon, Cripps Warner, Heaney, Bontempelli and Nick Dacois. Gorn and Sorong out. Tracy and Neil in. Breakfast for our bike and boat up. Take on any job. It's a range of tractors, mowers and utility vehicles. They've got Mark Duffield in after eight o'clock. Your calls, your texts. Gavin Bell and Andrew Prue and of course, the smart history coach. Hey. Hey, go. A little man. And Gavin Bell from the Eagles. And we've got Bailey Williamson the Eagles coming up. What's going on in that footy club today? Oh, I'd keep Gavin tool is later than the show. Is it possible? Yeah. Well, he might be absolutely oblivious to any of that. It's a board meeting. So the life just goes on at footy clubs. Absolutely it does. Prue is in. That's fantastic. I've thrown Andrew Prue and into onto my list of blokes under 5.8 that I trust. It's now five. No, they're Djokovic won overnight and he was very unhappy with a lot of the crowd who were cheering for an opposition player. And anyway, post match. No, that was being interviewed and he absolutely stood his ground. He did. The presenter was trying to calm the farm a little bit. No, that wasn't having a bar of it. I love him for it. No, that Djokovic putting some fans back in their spot. Center court at Wimbledon will take a break. Bailey Williams is not far away. And to all those people that have chosen to disrespect the player, in this case me, have a good night. Good night. Good night. Very good night. I'm hoping that they were just commenting on Roona and that they weren't disrespecting you. They were. They were. They were. I don't accept it. No, no, no. I know they were cheering for Roona but that's an excuse to also boo. I've been on the tour for more than 20 years. So trust me, I know all the tricks. It's fine. It's fine. It's okay. I focus on the respectful people that have respect, that pay the ticket to come and watch the night. And love tennis. And love tennis and appreciate the players and the effort that the players put in here. I played in much more hostile environment. Trust me. You guys can't touch me. You can't touch me. Scotty and Goss, it's 20-8. Mark Duffield in after eight o'clock. Time to talk to the West Coast Eagles, Bailey Williams, who was one of the shining lights on a difficult day at the MCG last week. He got the better of Max Gorn. Max Gorn, as we now know, is out for the next couple of weeks with an ankle injury. Hey, Bailey. Welcome to the show and congratulations on your own form, but again, a disappointing performance overall. Yeah, thanks for having me, boys. Yeah, a little bit disappointing, but that's it. We're in a bit of a tough spot at the moment, so I'm just trying to play as best as I can. Was that your best game for the years? You know, sort of that role, finding that defined role. Matt Flynn in. Matt Flynn, not in. You're going forward. Then there's Oscar coming back. It seems as though you've been pushed and shoved around a little bit. Did you like being the sole Rachman, so to speak? Yeah, definitely. I don't know if it was the best game of the year or not. You know, I've had a lot to focus on with, you know, me and Simo. We've talked about, you know, rolling forward and stuff like that, but I really, you know, enjoyed being up and around the footy, especially when things aren't going the way we want. It's always good to be up in the contest, so no, it's great. Better when you're leading the Rach, there's no doubt about that, Bailey. I've got a prickly one for you straight off the bat, mate. All week we heard there's going to be a response to the Hawthorne game. And then you get seven kicked on you in that first quarter. What was the build-up like? What was the conversation before that like? Are you disappointed that the response really wasn't there? Yeah, it is really disappointing. You know, we wanted to have, as you said, a strong response after last week. And, you know, to dish up that first quarter, it makes it hard to come back from. And we wanted to get it going in the middle. And to a certain extent, I think we did that. But there was parts of that game that just fell away completely. So, yeah, it was disappointing. How much responsibility do the players take? How much reply? I mean, everyone's talking about Adam Simpson's tenure and poor old Adams in the news, timing and timeout. There's all talk of backroom texting and all sorts of carrying on. Just tell us about, give us a player's perspective on how much responsibility you as a group take. And have you as a group met outside of the footy club to try and find a remedy for on-field performance? Mate, to be honest, I think we take complete responsibilities on what happens on the weekend. You know, there's only so much a coach can do. And Simo, you know, we feel at his best. And we back him all the way. But, you know, we're in a tough spot and there's certain conversations we have. And we show him we can play with footy, we just need to, you know, get down to the cocks of it and get back to our best. I don't want to hop on the negative bars and we're going to move forward because you've got Brisbane this week. You've got to really bounce back against a very good team who's in good form over here on Sunday. But when reports come out, and I'm not saying the reports are true, I'm not saying they're true, that there's all talks of text messages going with disgruntled players, do the players start to look at each other internally and go, "Mmm, is that you or do you know who it is?" And does that just create an unfair tension or an unnecessary distractions or playing group? And you're not going to tell me you didn't talk about it or you don't think about it? Or did you actually try and deal with it once it hit the headlines? Yeah, look, it's a bit of a funny one. You know, there's always little things like this going on outside noise, but, you know, I'd lie if I didn't say it was a little bit shocking. But at the end of the day, like, personally, I don't know anything about it. And then, you know, it's just not an idea. We want to focus on fully not what's set around, you know, outside of the club and stuff like that. So, it's a bit of a funny one, but look, I'm just trying to focus on fully, yeah. Right, if you're looking at point figures, you always just point to the reserves. That's all it is. It's a blokeswork getting a run. That's the ones you look at. What's the, hey, Bailey, enough in that. We said earlier on, we just put that aside because it happens at every club and all the time. But playing Brisbane, as Goss just mentioned before, they're a good side, they're playing well. One of the things that was probably ordinary on the weekend is the tackle count. What are the things for you guys that you say that are non-negotiables that have to be good for you to be good? Oh, I think first and foremost, it's been good in the contest. And if we can, you know, bring pressure, be good in the contest and then have real intent to defend, I think that should hold a single spread. And I think that's where we sell away a little bit, is getting done in the contest and not defending the way we should be. So, you know, Brisbane are a great side and they're a great midfield again. You know, we'll try, we'll train well this weekend and hit him with all we have. A lot of talk, obviously, is about you playing rock forward. But I'd imagine this weekend with Gov in serious doubt. Can't even get on a cut to get home. They'd be, like, pushing back to help out TB and the back half. Yeah, definitely. Gov, the big four, unfortunately. I don't know if he's back in Perth yet. He stayed over in Melbourne, so. Yeah, we'll see what happens with the side. I would assume that I'd be playing in the rock and, you know, I try and get down back and help out as much as I can, even if it's, you know, meaning up a joke down at her for a bit and letting TB do his thing. That's what I try and bring. Yeah, it's going to be really interesting in regards to the rebound of last week, because, you know, the game will go on at quarter time. You've even mentioned that bar. So, you know, for the next three quarters, it was a bit of an arm wrestle. Tell us when you're coming up against someone like Maxwell. Yeah, I know where you went down with an injury, but you were holding your own pride at that. So, you're in pretty good form against arguably the best tournament in the competition, or one of the best tournament in the competition. What's it like in the preparation when you're going up against this guy, knowing, you know, he just finds front spot. He's gangly. He puts his arms out. He makes it hard for you to work to front position. How much work goes into that prep? Yeah. Well, as you said, he's arguably the best in the business. I'm a little bit undersized in there, but I really get excited for the challenge, and it's something about my footy. I really enjoy getting up for, you know, a challenging game, and if I can bring that physicality and, you know, just really get going in there, it's something I really enjoy, and moving forward, I'm excited to keep doing it. Yeah. Well, you've got a big one this week as well. Obviously, the big O in Oscar McNamee 204 centimetre unit. He's also a barometer for Brisbane when he's rocking and rolling, and then they're generally playing well how many times you've played on Oscar, and what have you learned about playing on him that you're going to need to try and exploit this weekend? Yeah, he's obviously another big bloke, and I think I've only played in a handful of times, so similar to Gorn, you know, I'll go in trying to be really aggressive and using my strength and my physicality and my athleticism, and, you know, I'm lucky I've got a great midfield group around me that support me, and I'm looking forward to another, you know, big challenge. It's going to be huge. What's your relationship like with Adam Simpson? Been good for you? Yeah, good mate. No, he's been good. You know, obviously, the club's had its challenges, but he's stuck by the players, and we stick by him too, so no, he's been good. Good on you, mate. Appreciate you coming to the phone today. Off to training now? Yeah, off to training, mate. Just parked out the front, so we're about to head in. All right, have a good day. Appreciate it. Good on you, boys. There he is, Bailey Williams joining us from the West Coast Eagles, and they'll need him to continue to grow in that role again. He had a season-high 28 hit outs on the weekend, of course. Has been doing that rock role a little bit, but then Matt Flynn came back, and he sort of looked between, betwixt and between didn't he? Didn't he really know? No. He's a competitor, Bailey Williams, and we've been full of praise for him for a little while now. He's coming along, but that's what they need. They need someone like him to throw his weight around in the middle. Start with and set a scene. 131255, Tukey Depo, open line, all 0 4 8 7 7 3 6 7 3 6. Former Perth Wildcat Luke Travers is over playing, basically in the G League, trying to get onto the court in the NBA. Of course, he's now with Melbourne United. He spoke to the assembled media about what he has to do to try and cut it at the top. It's always, every year, it's ASAP. You're trying to get there as soon as possible, and you don't want to weight around this stuff. So, I've just been trying to put in the work. Obviously, I want to say my first year I came back from the Summer League, Danny Mills, who's the GM at Wildcats, gave me a sheet of paper of all the people that got drafted and stashed, who didn't play in the NBA, which was a huge motivator. Even to this day, I still think about that. You know, you never want to be in that sort of category. So, to make the NBA is always a dream, and it's going to be a goal mine every year. 15 degrees, heading for the top of 22. On tomorrow's show, Ken Mackenzie. We saw him with our own eyes. He's one of those little mid-fords that Hawthorne have got who is a part of their build. Very handy, and he'll be in action, of course, against Fremantle down in Tazzy. So, Ken Mackenzie will be joining us as well. We get Ray off the roller coaster of emotions that he just went through during my power rankings. It was started with... Mm-hmm. So, with you, Evan, what? Mm-hmm. And then disgusted, then... So, then he listened. So, it's all right, take it all back. Then, Greg Call, Scottie's right again. JT is our most influential player. Love it, Ray. Great roller coaster of emotions this morning. Speaking of roller coasters, did you have a look this morning on socials? I saw it last night on 9's footy show. Between Sam, McClure, and Kane Corks? Yeah, I thought Kane handed himself really well and put someone back in their box. I think they're missing Mason Cox. This guy gives them a presence that I don't think any other player on their list can give them a disagree with you, if you're relying on Mason Cox to... Don't agree much about pulling, would you? They'd be employed to a player. I mean, in fairness, you have been proven the last two years to be completely wrong about that. Yeah, I disagree with that. No, no, I mean, there's no disagreeing. In fact, you said he was a VFL player. He said he was a liability. No, I see. He hasn't missed a game that he's been available for since. There's six bottles. Let's just set the history. And on a premise, you said he'd never play VFL again. I know you love the rewatchables. That comment hasn't happened. I know you also love Mason Cox, but you're picked up for the highlights. I just think he's a good player. Yeah, he averages seven touches. I'm just kicked three. Don't talk over me. You've had your say. He averages seven touches and he's kicked three goals for the game. I mean, you can get that from Nathan Kruger, can't you? Let's be honest. Do you think Nathan Kruger could have done what Mason Cox did in the last year? In the last year. He's got seven touches in the grand final year. I do. I don't think Collingwood's misfortune is down to Mason Cox's absence. One thing came will do. One, he does his homework. He's always got a very measured response. But, you know what? He doesn't get rattled. It seems big on facts, though. It seems like the facts. He said, "No, you were wrong. You've been proven wrong." So you should never speak again. No, he really is not coming. You will not keep digging that up. He will not be picked up. Exactly. You're not going to take him. I like him. You and I are blue. We have our debates on air. But, you know, you've just got to let me speak more. No! Well, I can feel another one coming in to be at two and a half minutes. Oh, boy. Scotty's having his dig. He's digging a hole for himself. Dig up, stupid. Really? Yeah, exactly right. Wow, this is David. I hope you have a good day today. Why is that? Well, because you're everywhere. You're on Fox Footy or on every other network. Every other network is run with your stuff and some claiming it is their own. So I hope it's a good day for you today. Which means it's not going to be a shock or a simo. But anyway... I can only report what I've been told. The reports are, as we started the show with, today is a board meeting. Not an extraordinary board meeting, standard board meeting. The decision will be made. And Adam Simpson's tenure as coach will be decided today, whether he coaches next year. If they decide that he's not the coach with a year to run man on his contract, then I would be guaranteeing you that a decision will be made and announced today by the West Coast Eagles. Biring the West Coast Fremantle closer to a flag thing, you're really wrong. I haven't been wrong yet. No, no, that's a good point. No. Ah, damn it. I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be with you. But until there's hope... Until that day happens. Until there is hope. Hey, dusk and have it all. How are you going to speak to Gavin Bell? Of course, he's the head of football. And he's the right-hand man for Adam Simpson. So he'd be at the hard core of it and simo would be back at work today. Does he sit above simo? Yep. So he would find... Head of football is above the coach. Oh, yeah, maybe. Not sure. You've got to tell people who are in charge of the person that you let me know. Yeah, well, the board is meeting today. And just before everyone says, "Oh, you know, this is crazy." It's a stock standard board meeting, but take it to the bank that Adam Simpson is coaching. Kenya will be the topic of main discussion. So plenty happening. We're not out to get simo. That's one thing. We're not, of course, as we know. We're being believers in him, but at the same time, we're not in the inner sanctum. All the decision makers. Yep. So they've got a bit of work to do out at the West Coast. Stay on the SCN throughout the day. I'm sure 15 degrees currently heading for a top of 22. Well played team. Well done, Scotty. Have a good one. All the best. Good luck to you. Yeah, I'm very comfortably mine. I'm checking with you. You don't have to worry, mate. I worry about you. Mate, I don't even look at socials, and I can't even tell you what they're saying about me. Good boy. Good boy. I'll see you tomorrow. Almost two weeks. How good will I go? You're going brilliant.
