Find your first day fits in-store or online at dicks.com. We touched on this a little bit earlier and standard has been appointed as the captain of the Fremantle Dockers AFLW. She spoke on Sports Day WA yesterday with a bit of loss. Obviously going to be a pretty unique one given my own personal circumstances with an ACL injury. So the club were really diligent in this process and we as a group wanted to get super clear on what it was or was looking for from our leadership group and whoever that worked out to be. It was a player led vote and staff vote as well at the club and that happened last week. We then had a bit of a break over the weekend and it was also announced on the Tuesday night that we walked into the club and yeah, it's an extremely exciting time for the club and the team. And there is a little bit of a change, but again with new faces, some new ideas and hoping the opportunities for our whole group to be able to grow. Congratulations to her. No 100% and this is it's a difficult situation to have an opinion on and not being in the inner sentiments. It's hard. It's another one down the line of why the Eagles aren't playing kids. We don't know. They know more than us. Correct. So the vote is the vote done by the players in the leadership group, right? She's not playing this year, which makes it staggering, which makes it really hard to get my head around this. Been to the club since 2019 club champion. I think coaches vote or players vote or you know, whatever, three years very popular in the playing group, very popular amongst the playing group clearly. I don't know how to read this. I think this leaves more questions than answers. Absolutely. That's a snub for Haley Miller. She's their captain. She's still there on field leader. She's the vice captain and she's at the club that she's been out and voted for. Forget about who congratulations to Ang clearly going to do a great job when she's on the field and playing and clearly she's got some great off field leadership potential as well clearly the playing group. I'm probably a glass half empty right here. I'm thinking to myself. Well, if I'm voting for a captain, I'm probably voting for someone who's going to be out on that. That would be the first thing I would do. Yeah. Why not wait till next year? Absolutely. What is Haley Miller not done not to be captain because she's been out voted. She's been out voted by the core group of players that she has been the leader for for the last couple of years. You hope that they have voted on who they think is going to be their best leader rather than a popularity contest. Why not wait another year? I don't know. I've got no answers to this whatsoever. I find it strange. Even by their own admission, she says it's unique. Do you know the difference when you're out there and your captain's out there and your captain's having a good game lifts everybody when your captain gets injured drains everybody because your captain has a big influence over you out on the field. So so and standards quotes on the web site says in regards to Haley, she's an ultimate professional. She sets the standards and we know what to expect from her. I would love to be able to demonstrate those qualities for this group as well. Well, why not leave? She's so good. Why not leave Haley in the job? Maybe Harley said it's time for fresh voice at the top and I want to take that responsibility away and I'll be a vice captain and and just want to concentrate on my footy. Claire Heffernan runs the AFLW program at Fremantle. Quote, "Even though Ange won't be able to run out on the field on game day, we are confident our vice captains and leaders will fill that role seamlessly to lead our side and support Ange in her off field role as captain." Haley has made extremely proud as captain and we've seen so much growth both in her leadership and on her personal level over the past two years. Oh, we've had Haley in here, she was terrific. The messaging, I'm just not sure what this messaging is. It's Australian. Haley Miller said, sorry. Haley Miller said, "While there were mixed emotions for her personally, she was proud to pass the baton on." So she clearly says. So maybe she hasn't said it's time for me to step down the rung. It's a strange one for me that you would vote a player into your cabin and see that it's not going to play. Seems weird to me. Yeah, I agree. I'd love to get the girls inside into that. Yep. I'd love to know how this has happened and why it has happened and the timing of it. One, this is not saying Ange then it's not going to be a very good captain for the football club. Ash Brazel is going to be in the studio tomorrow. So she's also being voted into the lead issue. There you go. There we go. Answers tomorrow. There we go. So be listening tomorrow because no one's there. Can you make sure I'm going to be in a mood tomorrow? She's ready. Actually she brings her Thanksgiving. Lots of answers. So the game day. You'll get the best insight into what's going on there tomorrow morning on this show. That's exactly right. Anyway, so if you've got an opinion, there's a lot of people. It will be awkward now that Miller has to captain the side in her rotation as the vice captain. I agree. Who is the game day captain? There's a lot going on here. So yeah, the audience has certainly jumped in on this. I think we all find it a little bit awkward. But hey, who are we to decide? It's strange. Not what we have an opinion on it. It just doesn't make sense to me. It doesn't make sense to me either. Nine past seven, it's ten degrees.
