[Music] It's Scotty U, Gospel Breakfast! [Music] Morning everyone, 4.5, 6, took a depot studio thanks to Sonos for the next two hours. Game-changing sound this season with Sonos, multi-room listening, the wireless home theatres, everyone's got one, and more experience game-changing sound this season with Sonos. No Scotty on a Friday, no Hemabrais sure. Paul has to be joins us after 7.30, but we resume normal practice on a Friday because Ash Brazel is in the house. [Applause] Diamond, Magpie, and now Docker and moving like a retiree. Good morning. Good morning. Cool. Yeah, a worry cup and I thought I broke my foot. We had a 10K session last night and literally got home and just passed out in bed and a worry cup and I was like, "What's going on here?" 10K, that's 10K of training with balls and everything. But you're doing GPS, you've got to run 10K. Yeah, yeah, which doesn't sound like a lot of fun. When you're running by yourself injured, and it's just your speed, and I'm starting to get back into the physicality side of it. Yeah, like I said, we felt fine last night for a work-up feeling. Like, I probably should have fully retired, not just retired from never... We had a lot of people asking, "Where you were last week?" "Where were you?" We did a couple of weeks and was all too much for you and had to not be here last Friday. Yeah, it's a big gig with your ghost trying to keep up with you at this time of the morning. Yeah. No, I was actually in York. Yeah. Hey, holiday with the fam. Oh, I wish. Never been to York. Beautiful place. No, it was there with the furry dog girls, and we're on camp. And not like the Collingwood Camps, where they send you out to an army camp or the navy barracks. We were actually on a sheep farm, and I was trying to, I guess, herd some sheep into different gates. And it was definitely interesting. We got to camp in some swags. We felt like mine was 10 degrees, but... No, cold up. Definitely experience. Yeah, so what's your farm experience? Because you like that. You've just done the tour of Australia. You like to get out. You like property. You like getting out and about and getting hands dirty. So you would have warmed to that idea. Yeah, I'm not going to lie. I felt like I was in my natural habitat. I had probably the best sleep I've had since Louie's been born. So no kids there in a swag. I had lots of, I had a sleeping bag and a quilt. So I was nice and warm. But the best thing I've seen are Irish girls. We've got a few of them. It's like 12% of our team trying to put up a swag and never seen a swag in their life. And one of the girls even brought a summer sleeping bag. So she was trying to bribe people for their sleeping bags and quilts. So yeah, it was definitely entertaining. And in your sporting journey, you would have done 1,001 camps. And you talked about the Collinwood stuff, but also through your netball and stuff like that. Do you see benefit in them? I think it's changed. I think the era is kind of changing. I used to love the army camps now being a little bit older, getting yelled at via an old bloke in a suit. Like an army suit. I'm just like, "Come on mate." And they get right in your grill too. I'm here to play netball or not. So it is different. And getting woken up at 3am, I think as a young kid, you know, it does teach you resilience and just getting it done when you don't want to get it done. Now though, and seeing like I guess the change in youth, that could kill a kid. Like the way that they are, it's more about pumping them up, getting to know who they are, how you're going to motivate them. And I was always against these kind of camps because I felt like they were a little bit fluffy. But to be honest, I actually got more out of this camp than I reckon I have any other. I don't know if that's being a little bit older and trying to be the mentor to the younger girls, but just seeing how they work together and getting to know them on a different level away from footy. I actually preferred this. Okay, so when I was very briefly coaching the Subiaco cults in the Waffle system, we had a camp more river and one of our longtime clubbies had a property up there. And so we had 60 kids in preseason. And I went up there early and I went up there with my footy manager and we parked a trailer, a cage trailer, which was mine on the side of the road, just off the highway. So they dropped them off and they had to walk with all their bags and everything, no there for two days. And I had to stop. Someone had to notice that the trailer was for them. So they didn't know it was there for them, but I had Subiaco Football Club written on it. So they had all their bags in there and we watched from afar and we had when someone was filming to work out who was going to be the leader to say, "Hey, this is our trailer. Subiaco Football Club has got it written on the side. Can we use the trailer to put all our bags in instead of traipsing another three Ks?" So they did. They loaded the trailer up. But there was obviously instructions. And the instruction was everyone had to stay some form of connection to the trailer, whether it was by rope or by touching the trailer or have it be in the trailer, whatever it was. They had to wheel the trailer three Ks on a road to the campsite. And at the next stage was a $50 bill in an envelope. The $50 bill was spend $50 on food at the more river shop. So they bought sausages, bread, one tub of orange juice. There was 60 of them and they had 50 bucks. And then bizarrely, they bought butter. They had tomato sauce. So these are all these. Why would you buy butter when you've only, it's only a snack. It's not, we're not talking about, you know, prime, prime dinner. They sat down and then someone bought knife and forks. Plastic knives so they could spread the butter. And we're looking at the whole range of leaders and emotions. Why did someone not go into the shop and just say, can we borrow enough? There's a whole range of things, big decisions being made. We found our leaders in that group in virtually the first half an hour or they took longer than half an hour. About probably an hour and a half of the camps starting. All of a sudden the leaders just shone, took leadership of how we're going to use the trailer, how we're going to stay attached, what we did at the shop, who jumped in when they shouldn't have jumped in. Do you find that on your camps? Yeah, I think so. I'm actually impressed that they bought all that with $50. You can't do that these days. No. It was 12 years ago. A long time ago. Yeah, but I reckon leadership's changing. And I know like I was in the net ball system professionally for 15 years and my first captain was Catherine Cox. And to lead back then, you were scared of your captain because they were the best player. They were intimidating. They were forceful. We're now to lead. You're actually completely doing the opposite. You're not fearful. You're trying to bring the best out of it. Other players. And you now don't just take it all on yourself. You have people around you that are better at different things. I know for me, for instance, Jiva and I at Collingwood were co-captains. And I was very much the on-court captain who could give direct feedback in the moment. Whenever where Jiva was that off-court captain who was more nurturing if someone had a bad day where I'm like, get over it. We're here to train and start training. So there are different types of leaders now. And what can you get out of that camp? I don't know. Like you talk about all of those examples. And they might be like the on-field leaders because they're able to see a situation and work it out. But then you might have had the quietest person in the camp who was actually okay to listen but trying to work it all out in a different way. So everybody gets complicated. It's just quite frustrating. So you're a leader down at Fremantle. You haven't played at the club, but you've only been there a brief time. You joined after your post last year. You did the big trip and you've arrived and you're a month into your time at Fremantle. But you are a leader through experience and probably age, may I say. Have you been told what your role is as a leader? Or do you just take it upon yourself? No, I think, yeah, you can't take it upon yourself. You definitely, I don't know, I'll try and lead by example. And I think the best part about with me is I've come from another sport, which is elite. And with netball from the age of 13, you get told to be a certain way. And if you don't fit that, it's very hard to stay in it. And the professionalism of netball, just trying to bring that into footy. So with me, what you see is what you get. I can't be any other way. But, I don't know, you get, everyone's a leader and you've just got to find out what type of leader you are. And, I don't know, your career is in your own hands and you've got to take accountability for that. 0 4 8 7 7 3 6 7 3 6 13 12 55 and a lot of techs coming in. This is Scotty from Scarborough. Yeah, about your pre-season camp, Ash, having a sleep in a swag. How do you feel knowing the West Coast Eagles girls are heading south today and staying in a five-star resort? Soft. Completely soft. Wow, that can't be true. I've clearly got way too much money to spend I reckon. And that's a good point. Yeah, but, you know, good on them. They can have their five-star resort. Like I said, I've had the best sleep I've had in four years in a swag, so I'm not complaining. How many mums in your time? Well, there was just Turbell and I, and she's now carrying another one. So, yes, and then obviously the coach, which is awesome because her kids are the same age as my little one. So, it's nice to have kids around the club. Absolutely. JJ, since when is 140 games worth of news, Goss, it was on the news at 6 a.m. I smell a lift tonight. Lift up their Brisbane versus Melbourne. Mike says, "Morning, guys. Goss, no social media for three days. Have you given into the temptation?" I'm on, I do Instagram and I do Facebook because I, but they're work-related. Yep, I don't do Twitter or X as they know. I'm really struggling. And keep the text coming. 048773676, coming up on the show. We are, we were hoping to speak to Badat Sandarason because the cricket has got down to two. Of course, India, seven for 171, they smashed England to all out for 103. And the other game with Afghanistan, who took Australia's spot or Australia, gifted Afghanistan their spot. That didn't last long. All out for 56, South Africa, one for 60. So, the final is India versus South Africa. Badat Sandarason was going to join us from Crick Buzz to tell us all about it. Thanks to Prime Video because it's 10.30 tomorrow night live and exclusive on Prime. But Badat was trying to fly from one part of the West Indies to the other. And his message to say there's some form of crash that his plane was delayed six hours. And he sat on a plane in the tarmac with the South African team. Not ideal for one badat, not ideal for South Africa. It's loaded in favor of India. If we get Barad on, if we get into India, you could ask Barad about this. Oh, this is a loaded competition in this World Cup. All about one team who, they are the money team, they're money country, but it is a World Cup. It is a World Cup, but I can't get past the fact that someone's sitting on an aircraft for 6,000 and hasn't moved. What I don't know, was he on the plane for 6 hours or were they, they're on the plane and they sat. And then got off. But it has happened because it's easier to keep everyone on. Because if you go into the terminal and you go, "Look, it's how long is a piece of string?" And people go off randomly. They try and keep everyone caged in the one area. But if you go get off the plane and you go into a waiting room, there's no guarantee you're going to stay there. So then you're going to spend the next hour trying to get people back again. Yeah, an hour delay is enough for me. What's your longest time? No, no, no, I'm a 15-minuteer. 15-minuteer. No, no. I've got no patience for that type of stuff. Yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you. What's your, what's your, and this is very much in the space of Craig Carrion on Craig Hutchison and the, and the podcast, The Sounding Board with Daymo. You get it each and every week. Craig's Carrion because Craig Hutchison does so much travel. He's mastered the art of getting on, how he gets on, the arm rests, the, you know, getting the luggage, where you put your luggage. He's probably in business as well. Not all the time, but most of the time. Yep, yep, certainly if you want to just check the finances of the company. Yeah, I think he does go business. No, so interesting enough, a lot of people say get on early because then you're guaranteed of making sure that your hand luggage is above you. Because now people are bringing so much hand luggage on. So I'm not a luggage person. Either of them are on the last person on the flight. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Why? Oh, because I don't want to just sit it down, yeah. But what happens if you get on and there's no room above your head? Where do you? I don't even take a bag. At all. No, okay. So I take a bag, carry on. If I can get all my carry on into one basic one that I know will get through, then I don't have to wait until I get to the other end. So mine, my trips are two days, three days max, and I can survive on a, you know, three pairs of jocks, two shirts. Yep, mine's under the plane. They can do all the work for me. But you can get away. I've got a whole team that I'm waiting for, so it's okay. You go far too much patience. Far too much patience. Harlem, right, because I'm all over Link, didn't you? Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, got to be. That's worse. That's work. I would love to see that. South Africa finally wins something. So Simon in, in, um, Claremont. Yeah, I agree, Simon. I think we're all, we're all cheering for that. I wonder what the facilities are at the Trinidad airport. I wonder what they would be like. I don't think it would be exactly Dubai. Yeah. All Sydney. You see, I say I don't, I don't, I don't look at airports. I just get, look for a gate. And I don't buy anything at an airport. I used to buy the, the donut things. Well, crispy cream. Yeah. Used to. But they're just, no, they're just. There's too many better donut places now. Yeah, but they got, they got the ball rolling though. They did. They really raised the, the, I remember coming back and you bring back a box of creams. And the kids, you'd be away for a week and it'd be two weeks over for Melbourne Cup Carnival or AFL Grand Final Week or whatever. And you'd get home to your two daughters and they didn't give a rat's toss bag with them. They just wanted to make sure you put the crispy creams on. And they're just so sugar. And they're so light. They are light. In fact, I'm really feeling like I can do them, right? Now, just asking for a sponsorship for the show, please. Exactly right. Hey, Lloyd, make's going to join us after seven o'clock. Hey, when's your season start? Oh, great question. Yeah, I do. See, I'm trying to trip you up. When's your first game? And who you playing? This is sort of quite a question without notice. Yes, correct. So this is what I'm saying. You are so much in. I reckon there's no answer there, can I? And this is what I'm going to say about. Okay, because your focus is purely on pre-season. There's no point worrying about what's going to be happening in two months time and also who you're going to be playing. So much water to go under the bridge. Yeah, and my focus actually at the moment, we have four days off. So my focus is that having four days without before. No, it's hard of this pre-season. It's only been three weeks in. I'm like, oh, thank goodness. Where am I? Four days. And at school holidays. So, what do you got planned? Nothing yet. But, well, my kids aren't really at school. Louis only does the three-day kindy. But I do want to take them in the club because they still are very much Collingwood kids. So I'm just trying to convert them into the purple. I've converted. I do like a good purple colour. I think I've got teeth yet? Your kids? They do. They do. But they were born into Collingwood. So it is hard. It is hard. Thank you. Essendon v. Fremantle. August 31 is your first gun. You know more than me? Gosh. Aye. Provided by the great boys out back of the house. Hi, Gossonash. So, Goss tomorrow, Dyson. Hippo plays 250. The cattery does he get a guard of honour? It's got him from scarbs. And Jack Gresham plays 150. So they'll both get cheered off. Or should Jade say no. 100% Jade should say no. First and foremost, he's barely been in Essendon. So 150, yes. That's great. But it's not 150 at the same club. Dyson, Hippo. I would say 250. So we've got the debate, haven't we? 250. 300. So we ask... Do you reckon he can get to 300? Yeah. I think he's got two more years. I think he's playing good enough now. He wasn't, but he's playing 250s. Yeah. I think... So he's got two more years to go to get to there. Injury free, predominantly. Plus he rested this year. I think 250... I think he warrants 250 as a chair. So chair off is fine. I'm happy with the chair off. We've got no points with anyone being chaired off. It's the guard of honour. Yeah. So, yeah, I do. I do. I do think he'll get one. I don't think... I think 250... The protocol will be 250, Hippo, at front. 150, Gresham at the back end. The guard of honour will be for Dyson, Hippo. But Jade Gresham will be riding on the coattails. But the guard of honour is not for him. Oh, you're saying the guard of honour is happening with Hippo? Well, the question is, should it be happening? So we have this debate all the time now, Scotty and I. We've got it to 250 just, 300-100% guard of honour worthy, retiree worthy at 300, and/or club record worthy. Yeah. And we go back to... It's out of control now. We're seeing guys get gardens of honour. I'll get that. But that's not guard of honour worthy. He got off... He played Adelaide here, had a guard of honour, got off the shoulders, and went back and shook everyone's hand from the Adelaide team. Well, the guard of honour is there... Well, the guard of honour is the handshake. Yeah. That is true. That's it. But don't go, you know, it's sort of... Maybe he fell it awkward as well. No, not Elliot. He would have lapped it up. Don't worry about that. And he's staying for the West Coast Eagles. Alrighty. Plenty going on. Ash, what is the toughest thing about being an elite athlete to those of us that aren't and wouldn't know, naughty? What's the toughest thing being an athlete? This is a great question because, you know, I feel like we live the best life ever, getting to run around after a ball and call it a job. But I think a lot of people just see the highs in sport, rather than I reckon there is definitely, well, they're 100% years, more lows than positives. So, just, yeah, getting through all of those and... But then I guess the flip side of that is when you actually do get a positive or a highlight or a win, it makes it all worth it. That ain't 1255 048773673676. We'll get a break away on this day, not too far away. Did you miss the last week on this day? I did. It is a great segment. People talking? He was traded to the Knicks, so there it is. Another, oh, NBA product, Ariel Huck Porti has found himself at the Knicks. Jesse Dart, good morning. You're in red, shipping form. I'm wondering if you can overdo it a bit with a bit of extra weight on his back, so Christian Kelly around $3 for me. Nice work. I think we're going to wait a start. Race six, number two, kisses from Kelly. We're putting all these on our socials. That's the first leg of the quality. Where do we go next? Race eight, Falcon Traitor, good tough on speed horse, who was very good last start in a 72-class. Drops down in class to a 66 class. Keith Loosie, Fiori, gets a beautiful draw from barrier five. After seven o'clock I caught up with Lloyd Meek. He'll be joining us. Hawthorne Ruckman, former Docker. And sadly, balance under Asen says no can do. It's chaos where he is. There's six hours behind the plane. The roots of South Africa. They're trying to get to the hotel. It's absolute bedlam. T20 World Cup is live and exclusive to Prime Video. South Africa takes on Indian tomorrow night. 10.30pm. It is on Prime. Now, I can tell you what, the Prime uptake has been unbelievable. The coverage has been huge. Now, Goss, I did want to ask Barada questions. So, he's obviously not here. I want to ask you a question. I heard it on social media. But I want you to have a listen to Michael Vos and Vorn. Yeah. I'm thinking footy already. It's so good. I like that. I like that. And what he had to say on his podcast. Club Parry Fire with Gilly. Well, it's that tournament, isn't it? Yeah. Literally, it's that tournament. They get to play whenever they want. They get to know exactly where they're semi-filing. They play every single game in the morning. So, people go and watch them at night in, obviously, in India on the television. I get that. I get that. Money's a big play in the world of cricket. And I get that in bilateral series. But you would think that when you get to a World Cup, the ICC should be a little bit fairer to everybody. Now he's saying that this World Cup is for India. It's not for the world. Do you agree or disagree? I can't disagree. That's all it is for. It is purely for them where the money is. But he's nailed it there. And Gilly was nodding away in the Club Parry Fire podcast. If you haven't watched it, it is outstanding work. And Gilly's been over there. Over there for the World Cup. And do you think they're going to win it? Or are you going for South Africa? Well, I have no skin in the game. I actually don't care. South Africa's been really good. But India's had the easy run. They've had an absolute doddle run. Because of the fixturing, the timing. Now, South Africa, we've just heard from Barrat. There's planes being delayed six hours. And when you're playing the next day, you're trying to get from A to B. That's six hours of sleep time, rest time. Recovery time. It's just not ideal to be on a plane or in a terminal or not in a hotel or plane or training. Huge, huge setback for South Africa. Probably not an excuse once you get out on the field. But everything's been loaded in India's favor. Sometimes that's a good thing, though, for South Africa. I think a good unit. Yeah, it backs against the wall. Okay. Everything's against us. Even the flight is against us. You know, I think you can actually use it in your advantage here. That makes a good point. I'm calling it. I'm going for South Africa. Okay. Well, there it is there. And you can see it all on Prime tomorrow night, 1030, South Africa versus India. I'm shocked by this. And we're going to ask Barrat this Saturday. He can't be with us. But Richard Penn, I didn't know he was back playing. He's the bloke that was in the massive car accident. And they thought he was going to lose his legs and all sorts of things. And never going to, he said, life-threatening injuries. He was in ICU and all sort of stuff. And I saw him pop up on the Club Prairie for our podcast. And I thought, oh, he's now just a critic. And, you know, he's good that he's up and around. But he's actually in the team. And yeah, quite bizarre. But anyway, good luck to everyone. T20 World Cup live and exclusive on Prime Video. Hey, I've got a couple of bits of audio I want to play to you. Now, this was a little boy who was on his bike. Singing the Carlton theme song. Have a listen and tell me, if you can guess this, you're a freakhead. Right? But have a listen. Who do you think is this singing the song? We all like to sing the old song. Not to prove. But a team is listening down. Right? Or a team of thousands sound. But a campaign is down. It's enough. It's enough. Oh, that's the song. I guess it's... Well, I'm going to say it's no one from Carlton. But how cute is that? I'm just going to throw something out there. Cause we're in WA. No, it's in Melbourne. Oh, it's in Melbourne. Melbourne. And as an AFL player, he's a captain riding his bike and he's got his son on the front. He's got a helmet on. And the dad is recording him as he's riding his bike. He's a captain. He's a captain. He's not a captain of Richmond, is he? No. I thought they're playing them this week. I've got an ID. An ID. Max Gorn's boy. I don't know whether it's Louis or George. But let me tell you, I think it might be... Louis. It might be Louis. Anyway, there he is. So this is Louis singing the Carlton themes on you should see if you get a chance to see it on social. So I think it was on TikTok. Max Gorn's face as he's riding the bike. Have a listen. Oh, that's a piece. Oh, that's a piece. But it's easy. And then this is the... Nice work. Hey, I'm going to let you give it up on Melbourne as well. Up on Melbourne, yeah. It reckons he's off to Melbourne. I'm going to play it one more. This was before... Have a listen to this. These are some girls singing a song. Have a listen. [MUSIC] Sports team. Have a listen. Here's the round up. [MUSIC] Any guesses? [MUSIC] It's not free, I hope. It's down that way. It's the Peel Thunder Rogers Cup. So the age girls, the underage girls, singing before going out on the ground to play in a recent Rogers Cup game. They're standing at the grace. Oh, this is the warm up. It's not even after a game. It's not after a win. This is before going out on the ground. Oh, I absolutely loved it. I need to laugh at this team. This is amazing. I loved it. And it's amazing. Did they win? There's only one true games, but they've got some good young talent. But she's banging the door and the captain's out the front and they're going louder and they get louder the whole lot go. It is really cool. And it's gone viral. So well done to the Peel Thunder Girls singing "Hey, a baby." After seven o'clock, we're going to be chatting with Lloyd and we're also going to be hearing, of course, from Paul Haysby with our tips. Johnny Firthy, the Australian. Selected by San Antonio, but he goes to the Paces and Bronny James, who's joining his old man at the Lakers. That's the news this morning. So I've carefully on the roads, heading for a top of 20. It's currently 12.9. Ash Brazel, Tim Gossage in the studio. Scotting us. S-N-W-A Friday morning. S-N-W-A breakfast, Tim Gossage and Ash Brazel with you. But I had a chat, of course, before we came on air officially today with Lloyd Meek, because he's coming back to WA. Of course, the Fremantle Football Club for a couple of years, played 15 games. He's already played 26 with the mighty Hawks in their inner bit of form. And they take on the Eagles on Sunday here at Optus Stadium. Lloyd, appreciate your time. Looking forward to coming back to WA. Thanks, Tim. Thanks, Tim. Yeah, always, mate. Always love that at the Sunny West. It's been pretty bloody cold during Melbourne, so absolutely always looking forward to getting back. Yeah, to be good. Hopefully, good trip flying over Saturday morning. And the boys are in a bit of form, which is a really good attempt to win five consecutive games for the first time since 2018. You've been a big part of that success in more recent times. You've found your mojo, and I think you've been well rewarded with constant games and making a difference. Thanks, mate. Thank you. It's been a really nice period of recognition. Obviously, last year, I still managed to pen a few games, but you always want to be in that top spot and be able to do that. This has been really good. It's been fun. It's been really fun. And I think we've got a lot of energy amongst the young group and really loving. Obviously, everyone loves winning. Hopefully, we can keep doing that. Everyone's on the right track, they believe, in regards to Hawthorne and Sam Mitchell's coaching and his belief in the way the group has been. The group has been constructed. And at the moment, you sort of in the mix for a possible eight final eight birth and a finals appearance. Do you look that far ahead as a group? No, I would love to say no, and I'll take it while we're here. Please change that. I'd be lying to your face, mate. Everyone thinks about it and everyone talks about it. And at the end of the day, we all want to play finals. But whether or not that happens this year, next year, the year after, we'll be working towards it the whole time and we talk about it. But you obviously can't let it distract you from the job at hand. And it's a tough competition. And I think this year, especially even the last month, you see just from pretty results, it's changed a lot from the first few rounds to the last two in terms of the latter position and who's hot and who's not. So, yeah, hopefully we can just keep capitalizing on momentum. Tell us a bit about your own form. Tell us a bit about what you did. Have you done anything different in 2024 as opposed to your first year with Hawthorne? I mean, we all talk about big men taking a long time, but you've been around enough now. And I've always vowed to a lot of people that you were for the size of you are, not just hype, but also the bulk and the strength that you've got incredible below your knees when the ball's on the turf. Great follow up. Has that been a part of your game, which you've tried to sort of dine out on again this year because you seem to have found something, you know, tackling rate is up. Disposals are better. And, of course, the headouts that go with it. Thanks, Frank. Thank you. Yeah, it's a funny one. I wish that I had some magic answer. And it's because the future was actually this and I feel like it's always a generic answer, but it's boring, but a lot of the time success is boring. I feel like it's just been literally a case of 1% marginal games over. This is my seventh or eighth year in the system now. So it takes, it does take time. And I used to hate when people used to say to me, I've done big, big times take time. Like you'll take a bit more time to come on. I used to get so filthy with them. But I was like, Oh, seven years down the track, that was probably right. In terms of what I've changed, it hasn't been much. I think I was lucky that I was able to lay a really good foundation down with some great coaching at prayer. And then since I've come to talk, obviously learning a whole heap of new ideas and whatnot. I got a bit lucky at the start of the year. The couple of things that fell my way, like the rock center dance rules changed, which sort of like helped someone of my dude more than the athletic cards. Little things like that sort of fell helpful in my favor, but obviously, statistically, when you're around the ball, a lot more. Your numbers are going to look a bit better as well. So I mean, been getting involved in a lot more rock contests and yeah, shouldering alone, which I'm loving. Yeah. Forty five hit outs. Forty six. Yeah, forty six and forty five hit outs. A lot of those. And I mentioned the tackle count. One area of your game, which you've never really been, it's never been your strength. And I think we get caught up in stats a lot of the time, but we always, you know, you would have known living over in Perth as long as you did. You know, Nat Noe doesn't mark the ball and Sandaland's never marked the ball. What's wrong with the Ruckman these days? They don't mark the ball. You're not a prolific Mark Taker either. And I don't think many Ruckman are in the true sense. Why is that? Yeah, it's a good question. And I don't think it's something I really aspire to be. And I've worked on it a lot. I feel like when I was playing some of my best waffle footy, it was really off the back of being able to take, you know, five, six contested mics a game. And I think it will come for me. It's just at the next level, it's tough to do, especially when, like, you're often not one out, just one on one. Like you are in a pack and Ruck's inventory is not to getting hangers taken on top of them and the sitting ducks. So that makes it a bit harder to clunk it as well. But I'm still working pretty hard on it. I think a lot of it is timing. And yeah, reading the flight of the ball, like you look at guys like Gawney and he's one that marks the ball exceptionally well and a lot of it. Obviously he's got incredible reach, but just timing and craft. And it's so many changing dynamics. So no marking contest is ever going to be the same as the one before it. Yeah, I've had some games where I've been able to hang on to a curfew and then my last early month or around my injury has not been as many, but definitely working on it. Definitely working on it because I think it is something that's pretty pivotal to my role. Yeah, Lloyd Meek is our guest, head of Sunday's Clash, of course, with the West Coast Eagles. More on the match up there with Flynn and Bailey Williams. Why Hawthorne? Why did you choose Hawthorne? I know, you know, obviously, you know, a club comes to you or your management that says, "Hey, you know, he's the type of player we want, probably starved of opportunities at Freo." At Freo, now I stand corrected on this, Meek, but you played round 12 against Brisbane and you don't play again to round 23 against the Giants. You were not injured in that time, were you not? No, no, not. Like Touchwood had a really good run to that period. So yeah, just falling behind. Obviously Sean Darcy and Rory Logg were holding the splits down. During that time, when you're not getting a game and you're putting your hard work in and training hard and everyone can see that, you know, we're probably at a different club. You were going to get opportunities and now we look at Hawthorne. So, you know, we're looking -- we were crystal balling here down the track. Was it really frustrating and were you looking -- you and I had a funny little deli on, so to speak, at a function. I sort of said, "Come on, tell us what you're going to be doing with your career." Had you decided at some stage that you were going to seek to get out? Was it because you wanted to play more footy and you felt like you were going to be behind Sean and whether it be Rory, but it wasn't Rory. It's now Luke Jackson. Did you -- at the time when you were playing for Peel and not getting an AFL game, did you feel like you're always going to upstumps and go somewhere? Oh, yeah. Obviously the number one goal always was I'm going to crack into this team. I'm going to try and dominate the lower levels as much as I can to make sure that I'm in that team. Yeah, you try and try and try your hard out mates for four or five years and then sometimes you just got to take a side step and not so much. I really didn't look at it as conceding that I wasn't going to be there, but it was realistically, like those two back with Luke Jackson coming in short. After you staying, they're incredible players and I was never -- I've tried for five years to get ahead of them and credit to them. They were -- or credit to Sean mainly, like obviously it's superstar, so yeah, I had to look around and it's always sort of in the back of your head, but I try and not let it distract me. And I think that sometimes it was a bit of a motivator even because it was sort of like I'm playing for more than just my spot in this team. When you are going back down to sort of play waffle footy, but yeah, and I realistically, I think rocks especially, you have to really have to look at because it's such a specific role and there's only so many of the team. You obviously have to look at your options and yeah, luckily, hooks were happy to have me and had a little bit of interest, which is probably rare for someone of my position. Like you said, I'd only played 15 or so games and I wasn't really lucky in a position to pick and choose too much, but I was lucky to have a bit of interest just because of the way that the rock system works. So yeah, I couldn't be happy with the decision in hindsight now, Matt. Yeah, no doubt, and to doing some great things. Hey, a couple of weeks ago, you were out 12 and 13. You had Cyndas Moses. Now, again, it's sort of like, you know, Cyndas Moses is a very special name. What is it? What was the injury? Yeah, so, yeah, I thought the decision has been about this because they sort of have a laugh and say, like, did the Cyndas Moses pandemic on now because apparently that's only any ankle injury that anyone does is now diagnosed as that. But the truth of it is that they're just a lot better at diagnosing it and that this same injury would have been around for ever, obviously, but they just didn't know what it was a long time ago pre all the scanning and whatnot. So, basically, basically the ligaments that hold you to be able to together sort of then bend down around your ankle until I just tore two of those, basically. So it's essentially a bad ankle sprain. But then depending on the severity of it, they can sometimes require surgery. And then it's really just all based on your function is how quickly you can come back. Like, I was lucky that obviously annoying to miss two weeks, but some guys have missed, you know, seven eight during surgery. It's, you know, even more. So, luckily, it was able to get back to the Richmond game and then put up a little bit for that. Funnily enough, I've had the buy, which has worked in the out kind of well and a funny kind of way and doing really good this week, able to train earlier in the week and have a good hit out tomorrow, pre coming over to take on the Eagles. Yeah, big one. Okay. Bailey Williams and Matt Flynn. Yeah, probably. Did you play against Flynn when he was at the Giants? He's coming back. He's only a sort of month back from long term injury as well. You would have played against Bailey Williams. I am sure at some stage. They're not, you know, we're not talking, no one don't be disrespectful, but they're not an agrade combination, but at the same time, he's Matt Flynn is tough. He's a big body and we know Bailey Williams got some serious hope. So you know you're going to be up against it. Yeah, definitely. Without a doubt. And that's one thing I've really noticed this year being able to string a few games together in the front half of the year was that every single week, like rocks or so one on one, you're coming up against a good player. It's like there's no weeks where you can sort of roll in and think like, oh, this, this rocks, you know, he's no good kids. He's so raw or something like that, which you might get away with in the, in the lower levels sometimes. Whereas every week you've got to be on and at the top of your game. So now those, those two, as you said, they're both great players and both have a good set of strengths. And I think I'll play Matt Flynn twice and Bailey Williams, a fair bit to all of our waffle and obviously the freer West Coast pracky games that will happen every start of every year and whatnot. So, yeah. And be able to look at some old vision and work out a bit of a game plan and, yeah, looking forward to the challenge. Going to be huge. Hey, there's been a bit of talk this week. And a lot of it's been coming out of Melbourne, in particular, Jared Whiteley and a few others have been talking about the condition, the, the aesthetics first and foremost of Optus stadium, but also. Tom Barra said it's sort of, it's just painted grass and it's a bit awkward. Jay Gromier has said there's some really good patches, but some really bad patches at the same time. You've played there. What's your experience at Optus stadium? I love the stadium itself, obviously the attitude of dudes and the way that it's built and everything's so modern. Obviously, it's probably a little bit different when you're playing there in a hostile environment compared to when you're playing there with the purple arms behind you and they're all spurring your own. So we'll talk about that and, yeah, no doubt, some boys will bring the metal studs over or the hybrid fruits, I should say, for a bit of grip. But, yeah, I couldn't be happy with the stadium. It's a bit awesome. And I think all the every WA footy person that's been over there. I don't think anyone would talk too negatively of it. No, very much so. And we've always talked, of course, the WA teams and you are part of that journey for the years that you're at Fremand all traveling across, you know, your seven foot 47. So, let's talk about business class and exit row seats at Miki, albeit a sort of wet behind the years hawk. Do you get the business class? Do you get the exit row? Do they look after you? I do get an exit roommate. And that's all I'm after. I'm very grateful for a bit of legroom on the longer fly. But it's actually funny how many people within the Victorian club say, like, I can't believe that fair and whiskers have to travel that far every second weekend. And it's like, yeah, it just sort of becomes routine. And I feel like from, I know, within three or anyway, no one really ever complained about it. It was just what you did. And that's all you know. So, yeah, I think we're pretty lucky. We've obviously got our affiliation with Tazi, but the 45 minutes flight doesn't even compare to the four hour. For one across from the other board. So, no, it would be good bit a bit of downtime on the plane. And I think there's a couple of guys that might die a bit earlier, just to rest the body and get that extra day, but the rest of the team will fly Saturday morning. Good stuff. Hey, mate. And when you come over here, do you catch up with some? Will you catch up with anyone? You know, you've some teammates who are not traveling for the dockers or any sort of friends that you made over your time here in Western Australia? Could you hear for a long time? Will you try and do a bit of a catch up? Yeah. Yeah, I will, mate. I will. Yeah. I've obviously got some close, close mates and always will have. And my partner's actually flying over as well. So, she's coming over to see a few of her friends. And yeah, we'll stay Sunday night after the game and see a few familiar faces for her or something, which would be good fun. Yeah. And it'd be even better if you get the win against West Coast. It's going to be a real danger game. Harley reads back to if you didn't know, making Harley read. He'll be in the conversation and you'll be around your feet somewhere. He's sort of certainly lit up WA football as you would know how isolated we are with our two team down, but he's certainly come out of plenty of attention. Appreciate your time to chat with me on our show today, mate. And travel safe, play well on the weekend and hit him straight when you hit the golf course. No. Thanks, Tim. Thank you. Not much golfing for me, unfortunately, but now looking forward to it. Looking forward to getting over. Thanks, haven't you? Good on you, mate. There he is. Lloyd, mate, joining us from Hawthorne Football Club. We know him so well for his time at the Free Mountel Football Club. This is a Goss and Ash. Ash Brazel, Tim Goss is with you on his Friday morning. [MUSIC PLAYING] Before you dig, lodge a free inquiry on line. Don't dig blind, search before you dig online. Everytime, beyda.com.au. And speaking from experience, I should have used them. And I'd like come to put a pathway in and have to dig about six inches down. And he goes, "What's this?" And I said, "I'm not sure." He says, "It looks like it's old retic." "Yeah, I can't know where I was going to chop straight through it." And that was my internet on Fox 2. It was in a retic pipe. See, I would have known. Yeah, I know. I would have known. If I got to hold a beyda.com.au, it was a costly and timely mess. Before you dig, lodge a free inquiry online. If you've got one, give us a call 131255. Who and what are you digging? I'm digging. Believe it or not, I know it's low-hanging fruit, but my very good mate, Kane Corns, was doing it. Great pleasure, Corn. How are you? Friday, Fireball. Fireball Friday with Kingie this morning. And as it's been well documented, I'm in today, three or four. I think I'm into four. Thank you, Griff. I think I'm into four now, where I've decided to step back from Twitter, or X, as it's known. Now, I've still got the account and I still look at it, but I'm not commenting, sort of not having even retweeted. I'm not getting sucked in. But Kane Corns, this morning, prior to us coming on, sent me a text. Have you been listening? Well, I have, but there was a time where I wasn't listening. And he and Kingie ditched up this pile of poop. You would not believe this. Our man, Tim Gossage, has quit Twitter again this week. He's off. He's quit. He said, "After receiving on-air advice from Gary Line about me wasting my time and effort on X and interacting with others, I'm officially stepping away. I'll keep my account, but I will not post or respond. I will miss it, but I will still be watching." What did Gary say? Well, he must have just said, "What are you wasting your time for, Goss? Don't bother about it." But by my calculations, this is the seventh time Tim Gossage has quit Twitter. I'm telling you, October 5, 2023. Today was only a cameo return to this platform, got caught in the Devon Robinson backflip. Let's go to September 25, 2003, my departing post. I also win the Brown low lines. I win the flag. September 24, 2023. Looks like my next days are over. This is legit. I'm not making this up. June 25, 2024. That was the one this week. I'm going off Twitter for a bit. That was October 24, 2020. And August 16, 2015, Twitter has exhausted me in the lead-up to today's Derby self-excluded for seven days. Happy tweeting. But I'm out. Come on, Goss. Can we put a Twitter poll up regarding Tim Gossage? Will he return to the platform? No, no, no. We're going to have an over-under. We'll leave you back by August. We'll Goss be back by August. Yes or no? Is that a Twitter poll? Yes, I am answering yes to that one. Tim, Johnny Farnham, Gossage. He'll be back. First thing first with Kane and David, I want to say thank you. They pronounce my name right? Like Kane actually says my name. Can we just go back to the very start of the first ten seconds? Have you listened to the way he says my name? He absolutely nails my surname, which hasn't been easy over the journey ever, listen. You would not believe this. Our man Tim Gossage has... No, absolutely nails it. Not Gossage, not Gossage, not Gossage, not a... But he pronounces... And again, please. He's absolutely... You would not believe this. Our man Tim Gossage has quit Twitter. The S's are there and the age is there. You're making me over thinking now. Someone know Tim Gossage. Yeah, you sounded like it's got an IDGE, Gossage, Gossage. I'm Italian. I get that. So first things first, I've got to give him some commendation and Kane is pretty good with it as well. The question they raise is, will I be back? Have you got an update on the... Yeah, so we've actually retweeted it. You wouldn't know because you're not on it anymore. But I'm not... Do you even look at it? Yeah, I've got to look at it because there's a lot of good quality stuff on there and you do get a lot of stories and stuff. You've got to keep following it. You get a lot of nuffies as well. Well, the verdict is still going, but it's kind of out at the moment because I don't think you're coming back here. But 83% say yes, you will be back and I haven't voted until I might tip it to 84% by August. Well, and then no is 17. Yeah, so that's 70%. I am dealing with it because there's been times where I've gone to retweet something. But see, I'm on X because I do Gastrodama, so I do my race tips twice a week for Ladbrokes and I've got to go. That's a contract. I've got to continue and I'm going to continue that. So I'm going to always do that, but there's not a lot of interaction. It's just like post and I move on. It's racing. It's specifically racing. Will Tim Gossie be back on Twitter by August? What's the percentages again? 83% say yes and 17% say no. The resistance is, what do you think? I think I'd buckle. Yeah. How long do you reckon? You've done pretty well to go four days because you do like the good Twitter slash X? I do. The tweets. I do. I like them. Yeah. There's been a lot of topics that I wanted to commend Alex Saar. My good mate, Alex Saar, the Frenchman who was drafted number two, he and I were besties and I wanted to say well unto him on Twitter. But you couldn't now. You have to do it on Instagram or Instagram or something. I do TikTok, but on TikTok, it's music putting together stuff. So the dig is, are you a Tiktoker? Yeah. Hachi wants us to be a Tiktoker and real estate is big on TikTok, so you're going down that path. But I just want to just end it here. Kane, has he really been trolling and trawling through my tweets since 2015 to know how many times I've quit Twitter? And my answer is no, it's not. Kane would be paying one of his teenage sons a few dollars to sit there. Instead of doing their homework and following a decent education, he'd be using little kid in a sweat box, whether it's overseas or in his own house, to troll through my Twitter to find out how many. So Kane, my dig is at you, get a life. 83% yes, 17% no. Sorry to the 17% who said no. I thank you for your faith, but I am really, really struggling. It's up our seven. Paul has to be talking footy next. 13 degrees heading for the top of 20, all the AFL action on SEN, of course. Sydney versus Fremantle. And Hawthorne versus West Coast. And Paul has to be joined just shortly thanks to base compression. In the meantime, Chris Glafunica has waltzed into the studio. At a good week this week, get discounted prescriptions and save more money at Chemis Warehouse. You're meaning fine form this week. I must say, hats off to you. A lot of people understand the work you do behind the scenes to make the show sound good. You don't help it when you come in here, but you actually help it behind them. I can say, these sports updates have not been up to standard this week. They haven't. But take the compliment. Take the compliment. Our sponsor by Chemis Warehouse. And Griffin, you seem to be really finding some synergy, which I'm really, really happy with. Yeah, it's taken a long time. But we'll just hope you not to get a phone call from the bosses that. [LAUGHTER] But what's next? What's this face? [LAUGHTER] What's this face? Don't forget, by the way. So footy back on this weekend, your beauty. And finally, over those rubbish by-arounds, I hated the by-arounds. Ash, how did you feel about the by-arounds? Yeah, I'm with you. Not about it. Oh, it's not enough games. Oh, it's terrible. No, we need to have more time watching footy listening on to SEN on SEN's sync. Then getting out and smelling the air and fresh air and playing in the parks with our families. What do you do both? We need just to be sitting in front of these things. You can do both. You can go out and breathe in the fresh air. Yeah. And waltz through the wonderful winter air and listen to SEN's sync the whole time. Yeah, and that's a good point. But I'd prefer to watch N listen. Well, you can do that with SEN's sync. That's the beauty of it. But footy's back. Don't forget as well, take part in the endless derby. That's the total net margin between the Eagles and Freo. At each home and away game every week you could win two GAT tickets to the footy adopter stadium. Head to icanwin.com.au. Teams are in for tonight, Gus. And Will Ashcroft is making his return for the Lions. Sub? No. They reckon he's just going to go bang straight in. We'll find out, of course, tonight when the teams are fully announced and the subs announced. But the word is that he's going to be out there. Back into the side. He's not playing any VFL on that. He's played any Quaffle or Neful or VFL. Whatever they play over there. He's straight back into the side. Exciting use for all those fantasy owners of Will Ashcroft like myself. They come up against Melbourne. Leave that. See, don't put it into fantasy. No one can. Well, this has been the main reason I've also hated the buy-arounds because during the draft, which I'm a part of, you don't play during the buy-arounds. And so it's just been, that's the one outlet I have. The one thing I have in this life. Fantasy Football has corrupted so many young AFL players. Hey, going with it. Oh. I won last season. Won the whole thing. I was unbelievable this season. I've drafted one of the worst teams I think that's ever been drafted. Oh, not well. Ash. Which is what I've... Ash, one question to many. I've been shielding now. I'm going to be good. Ash. Look at his back half of this season. You're going. My boys are back. Draper and Walker are in for the Dockers, of course. And one of the West Coast, Kelly Reed, Gaffin, Edwards are all into the squad. Now goes Patrick Kelly. Kelly's back. That's an interesting one. He was really struggling. I hope he gets through. We'll see what happens. And of course, Elio, they're giving him up until the final moment. So final moment. Yeah. And they'll wait until basically the very final moment to give him the option of whether he plays or not. So watch this space. Three major champions and a brother sister duo will go for gold in Paris after Australia's four men. But Olympic golf team was locked in. Minji Lee, Hannah Green, Jason Day are all in two. I mean, of course, they're all into the Olympics. There's a woman walking past with a flat jacket and guns and pepper stripe outside our window. Yeah, there is. Is this in relation to the letter? Yeah. Ash, you've got something to tell us all. I don't know if it's a good page of phones. I don't say anything. And the soccer is very, very quickly. Yeah. Draw for the third Asian round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. Now we could have drawn the most difficult nations in Japan, Saudi Arabia and China. We drew Japan, Saudi Arabia and China along with Bahrain and Indonesia in Group C. We're in trouble. Get discounted subscriptions in Singapore every day at Kim as well. So break, Paul Haysby. Base compression, get your tips ready. I'm a tipping genius. And what aren't you Jacob Blight to the boy from Peel Thunder who's been named to make his AFL debut with the Richmond Football Club? This is Ash and Gospel. How's it be next? Get your tips ready thanks to basecompression.com. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [INAUDIBLE] [INAUDIBLE] [INAUDIBLE] [INAUDIBLE] [INAUDIBLE] [INAUDIBLE] [INAUDIBLE] Yeah, I don't get too hooked up in the cane stuff, mate. [INAUDIBLE] Yeah, he's stalking me. He says, Mick, take it to the bank. He says, Carlos, I'll be back by August. Anyway, thank you for all your techs. Paul, how's it be, base compression? Proudly Australian-owned. Elevate your performance with base. Hey, it's good morning. Good day, guys. That's how are we? Yeah, we're really good. No more buyers, mate. Are you a fan of the buyer rounds? Can't stand the buyers. Just got to have one stand alone. Industry day off. Get rid of it. Bring back state of origin and work before the boy and bank. That's a good idea. It seems to be working the state of origin. Call Andrew Dillon's now starting to really say we might have to seriously consider it coming back. That will be huge. And you've been one of the great leaders of that conversation looking forward to that. Hey, the tips are in. Hammer '73, Scott '75, Paul Hoseby '80. And the guru is on '83, I'm on '83, I've got to stop doing it. Base compression, visit base compression.com.au. And we've got Brisbane versus Melbourne tonight. Goss at 5.40 at the Gabba. Brisbane are showing some form. They didn't start well at the start of the season, but they are going all right now. Hose, who are you tipping? Well, I gave them the kiss of death at the start of the season with the Collinwood Football Call. When you do that, they come back really strong. And their last five weeks have been unbelievable. They're averaging about 120 points. So you're going to be getting up to your stop. Melbourne, since Jake Leaver actually went down. That's been a big part of it. I don't think he's spoken about his influence that much, but he comes back into the team. And would you believe it, Goss? Well, Ashcroft, back in the side after not playing one game from an ACL. I did my ACL in 2008. And I needed at least two or three games in the reserves. I'm a bit surprised by that, particularly given how well the team is going through the midfield. But I think Brisbane at home will be too strong. And Ash, you've found your ACL. What was your comeback journey like? Oh, it was tough, mine was through COVID. So it was a little bit different. But no, I was the same. I went straight through, straight back into the AFLW and not VFL. Is that right? Yeah. Did you take a couple of games? Oh, she did. Yeah, I reckon I took a couple of games. Definitely. I'm still taking those couple of games, I reckon. All right. Jake Leaver, back is huge, as you mentioned. I've never heard of Andy, Andy Monney's Wakefield. He sounds like a cricketer. Andy Monney's Wakefield. He's in for his debates in this game. So you're going Brisbane? I am. Brisbane for me. I think they're very, very hard to beat. Scotty's gone, Brisbane. Hammer's gone, Brisbane. Yeah, moving on to Saturday. So first game up, we've got North, V, the Bulldogs. And North have been promising the last couple of games. But they are pretty high up for the sports bets to-- yeah, I don't know. I'm definitely the dogs. What about you? Well, I think when they lost George Ward, well, I think that market went out a little bit. It speaks volumes of the young kid and what he's been able to do over the last couple of weeks, especially Harry Shee's Law. So since he's gone to the midfield, has been a lot better. And they're unsigned forward. Has played some good footy in Can too. We'll have to see what happens with his signature. But some positive news overnight was what David's unique. He almost committing his love to the North Melbourne Football Club. Silly, I shouldn't do this this far out in my contract. Hey, what's he going to do? You've got to play the game for another year and a half. They killed her out there, willing to pay whatever it takes to get him across. But that is good news for North Melbourne supporters. But for the Bulldogs, they get some star power back in their borderline. Aaron Norton, Sam Darcy as well. They need to keep on winning if there are a chance to play final sporty. And they should be betting North Melbourne. Yeah, they should. Yeah, agree. Yeah, I don't think it's very hard to go past the Bulldogs. No, George Wardler is a massive blow. And as you mentioned, Darcy and Norton are marking power back. So we have all gone for the Bulldogs. Scotty, Hayes, Hammer and myself. Yep, Sydney Swans vs. Fremantle Dockers at the SCG. Do free or have a chance? - Whoa! - Oh, it's hard to see it. It's hard to see it at this point in time. But this is the team that can do that. When you don't give them a chance, they actually show something. But didn't mind just the moment he was tactics. He's not going in as the underdog. He's basically trying to get the boys to think positive and said, "Why can't we go there and win?" Because they did last year, but without Alex Hayes. I think he's structurally their most important player. Draper comes back in, walk up. They're going to play small ball. And small ball actually worked from a few times. And remember it worked really well for the West Coast Eagles. Going back to 2015, I think it was. They had so many injuries to their key defenders. And they found a way. But this is Sydney Swans. Uncuttable with the SCG. Uncuttable anywhere they play. I think Fremantle can get within 30, but Sydney would do strong. Very hard to tip against Sydney, and that's the only reason. I do give Fremantle a chance. They weren't great last week, but a win is a win. They take them. They're fifth on the ladder. They're doing everything right to get themselves a top four chance. And the double chance come finals time going into this back third of the season. But you'd be a brave man to tip against Sydney. None of us have. We've all gone for the Swans. Scotty Hayes, Hemmer, and myself. It's a clean sweep. Sydney. Gold Coast, Sun's versus Collingwood at the People First Stadium in the Gold Coast. There we go. Damien Hardwick has said that his team does not tag, but is it time to tag Nick Dakoff? You've got to put somebody on him, absolutely. He runs a mark. But the problem now is, Penderbury's back, and Jordan to go, he's back. So if you tag one, then all of a sudden, those other players get off the chain. Then you've got to ask yourself, who would have sent in to it? Does it really matter if it's Nick Dakoff, Jordan to go, your stop, Penderbury? They all can hurt you by foot, like in all school goals. Probably more Jordan to go, rather than Penderbury. But that's the decision for coaches to make on tagging. It can disrupt what you do, and you've just got to back in your place more often than not. And I think they will do that again. They get Ben King back. He was missing last week. But it's a tough one. They're really strong, aren't they? But you see them one week, and you see them away from home, and it probably shatters your confidence with the Gold Coast Suns. But at home, they are a different side. I'm going to back them in one more time, because if they want to play finals, footy, they need a big scalp, and I'll give them a chance against Collingwood. Oh, wow, that's a big tip. Mark of Penderbury. My check's a huge in for Collingwood to go in. Richards was playing some good footy. King and Holman returned for the song. Hammers gone pies, Scotty's gone pies, because he wouldn't matter if they were playing real Madrid in the past. Um, you've gone Suns. I'm actually going Suns as well. I can't believe I've done that. I can't, and it's not, I'm not reflecting anything against Collingwood. I just think they are a better side. They were average here last week, the Suns, but they do grow a leg. Just, I'm going to regret it. Just the Suns for me. Oh, no, I'm with the Piers. Of course you will. My check's back. Come on. I know you talk about the midfield, but pretty much. You've got to shed your magpies skin. You're the, you're the female version. Oh, no, I mean, I would have gone freer as well. That Suns over magpies. Anyway, let's move on. Adelaide Crows vs GWS Giants at Adelaide Oval. Can Adelaide give any hope to their fans? Oh, I don't need to. They're under a lot of pressure, the coach there. I've actually picked them in this one. I'm sure the reason why I've done that. No, I don't understand. That was what we sold on the Giants. All bit, the Giants do get a couple of their big name players back. Stephen Canilio and also Harry Pereman. So important, but Taylor Walker comes back he's Riley O'Brien and Elliot Himmelberg. I just feel there's going to be one game where they get it on their own terms. Adelaide Crows and they show their fans what they're doing. And I think it can be this one at home in a close one. I'll go to Crows. They stink, mate. They're no good. No, good. Giants win. Easy. No problems at all. The Giants hurt. Not coming with a bullet, but they're certainly starting to get a little bit busier. Giants for me, Giants for Hammer. Giants for Scotty and the Outrider. He's poor Hazelby. He's eyeing off top spot. He's gone for the Crows. Next game, we've got Jollong Cat's first Essendon at the MCG. Now, Essendon don't have a great win-loss record against the Cats. Do you think they could get up this game? Oh, they've been bullied and the mental psychology exists. When it seems to have over you for a long period of time, it's hard to shed that because you go back and you reflect on your past performances and they're unhappy. And on the other side of it, the Cats just know the method that can beat the bombers. But this is a different bombers and now it's a different cat. They're in real trouble to catch if they lose this one. And I think they will. I've been impressed with the bombers. Goldstein comes back in Gresham as well and celebrating a club legend. And that's what he's been, former captain in Dyson Happell. 250 games. He went through some tough times with the drug saga as well. And I think the team will get up for him and have a little win. All right, we've all gone for the bombers. All right, I've got to get through these last three games because we've got news bearing down. Sincuser versus Port Adelaide at the Marvel Stadium. No rhyme or reason, but I'm giving Port Adelaide one more chance. No, they're going to play finals, putty. They will fly back. You know who they've missed? Willy Rioli is back into the team. All they said is that player they can kick to and set up through. They're going to need all of that. I think they will. Yeah, Saints for me, Saints for Scotty and Hayes and Hammer have gone for Port Adelaide. Two more games. Richmond versus Carlton, MCG, 17th versus 2nd. Carlton for us. All everyone's gone for Carlton. All righty, here we go. And last game, West Coast Eagles versus Hawthorne at Up to Stadium. What are we giving? No more excuses for the West Coast Eagles. This team, if they let go, plays is one player off their best side. And I'm glad you feel it. The only one not included. Yeah. They're all available. Patrick Charlie goes out. Well, there's probably one that's missing. But the Hawks, if you said this game at the start of the year, you would have picked the West Coast Eagles, given where the Hawks were at. Similar positions at home. Every player available. So I'm going with the West Coast Eagles. Hammer goes to the Eagles. Hayes goes to the Eagles. Scotty goes for Hawks. I'm going for the Hawks as well. That's round 16 done and dusted. And that is all for the team at Base Compression. Of course, Base Compression are proudly Australian. Don't elevate your performance with Base. Get some compression on it. Visit basecompression.com.au. Have a great weekend, Paul Hays will be. And we will hear you. Are you on the Savo? I'm the Savo and can't wait to work with you once again on Sunday. You too, mate. Good on you, Paul Hays will be joining us there for Base Compression. And Johnny from Glen Forest says, Hayes is going against the Pies. Gee, that's a real surprise. There it is there. All righty. We're going to wrap it up now. You did very well there. You were across that. You've done your research in preparing. Did you see my arm when you said we need to hurry up? I was like, OK, let's go. Calm down, Ash. I'm getting excited. I'm just tempo moving through a show because we've got our news bearing down on us. Now, do I do it on here or off there? On here? OK. This is radio. Everyone's looking at me. This is radio and Gossage. And this is Gossage English lesson. There's no such word as verse. It's verses. It's my age. It's my slang, you know? No, don't get to get it. Step away. As they say. I'm having a big breath here. Let me say it again. Let me hear it. Be better. You say better. So it's Eagles versus Hawks. Not Eagles versus Hawks or Vercing. It's the WA thing. No, no, no, it's a good thing. And you are no longer a kid. I am a child. I always be a child. You're a star. We're done today. Loved it. Enjoy your four days off. Yeah, no, you've been an absolute gun. We love having you. The reaction on our text line is huge for Ash Brazel. Next Friday, she'll join us again in the studio. Have a great weekend. Hope your team's win. Just a little tip for everyone. If you're looking for something to wage, you're on always gamble responsibly. But Gully Gum goes around at Bunbury tomorrow night. Unbeaten four from four at the Bunbury track. Guess what? It'll be five from five. Well done, boys. Well done, Biff. Well done, special. [MUSIC PLAYING] It's Scotty and Goss for breakfast.
