(upbeat music) - Droppin' footy on a Friday. Ash Browsle, Tim Gossage with you, S-E-N-W-A. Thank you Luke from Caronup, Lovin' the show, been a laugh. Yeah, I don't get too hooked up in the cane stuff, mate. Here I am. Yeah, he's stalking me, says Mick. Take it to the bank, says Carlos, I'll be back by August. Anyway, thank you for all your texts. Paul Haze will be base compression, proudly Australian-owned elevate your performance with base Haze, good morning. - Good day Gossage, how are we? - Yeah, we're really good. Hey, no more bias, mate, are you a fan of the bio rounds? - Can't stand the bias, just got to have one stand alone, industry day off, get rid of it, bring back state of origin and work before the boy and bank, but good day. - Yeah, it seems to be working the state of origin. Call Andrew Dillon's now starting to really say we might have to seriously consider it coming back. That would be huge, and you've been one of the great leaders of that conversation, looking forward to that. Hey, the tips are in, hammer 73, Scott 75, Paul Haze will be 80, and the guru is on 83, I'm on 83, I've got to stop doing it. Base compression, visit base compression.com.au. - And we've got Brisbane versus Melbourne tonight, Goss at 540 at the Gabba. Brisbane is showing some form. They didn't start well at the start of the season, but they are going all right now. - Haze, who are you tipping? - Well, I gave them the kiss of death at the start of the season with the Collinwood Football Club. When you do that, they come back really strong. In their last five weeks, have they been unbelievable? They're averaging about 120 points, so you're going to be getting up to your stop. Melbourne, since Jake Lieber actually went down, that's been a big part of it. I don't think he's spoken about his influence that much, but he comes back into the team. And would you believe it, Goss? Will Ashcroft back into the side after not playing one game from an ACL? I did my ACL in 2008, and I needed at least two or three games in the reserves. I'm a bit surprised by that, particularly given how well the team is going through the midfield. But I think Brisbane at home will be too strong. - And Ash, you've found your ACL. What was your comeback journey like? - Oh, it was tough, mine was through COVID, so it was a little bit different. But no, I was the same. I went straight back into the AFL-W and not the AFL. - Is that right? - Yeah. - And did you take a couple of games? - Of course you did. - Yeah, I reckon I took a couple of games, definitely, I'm still taking those couple of games, I reckon. - All right. - Jake Lever, back is huge, as you mentioned. I've never heard of Andy Moneys Wakefield. He sounds like a cricketer. Andy Moneys Wakefield, he's in for his debuts in this game. So you're going Brisbane? - I am. - Brisbane for me. I think they're very, very hard to beat. Scotty's gone, Brisbane. Hammer's gone, Brisbane. - Yeah, moving on to Saturday. So first game up, we've got North, the Bulldogs. And North have been promising the last couple games, but they are pretty high up for the sports bets to, yeah, I don't know, I'm definitely the dogs. What about you? - Well, I think when I lost George Wardlaw, I think that market went out a little bit. It speaks volumes of the young kid and what he's been able to do over the last couple of weeks, especially Harry Cheese, and also since he's gone to the midfield, has been a lot better. And they're unsigned forward, has played some good footy in Camps, Earhart. We wait to see what happens with his signature. But some positive news overnight with Luke Davis, he almost committing his love to the North Melbourne Football Club. Silly, I shouldn't do this this far out in my contract. - Hey, what's he looking at? - You've got to play the game for another year and a half. Thank you to her out there, willing to pay whatever it takes to get him across. But that is good news for North Melbourne supporters. But for the Bulldogs, they get some star power back in their borderline. Aaron Norton, Sam Darcy as well. They need to keep on winning if there are a chance to play finals 40 and they should be voting North Melbourne. - Yeah, they should. - Yeah, agree, very hard to go past the Bulldogs. No George Wardler, he's a massive blow. And as you mentioned Darcy and Norton, some marking power back. So we have all gone for the Bulldogs. Scotty, Hayes, Hammer and myself. - Yep, Sydney Swans vs. Fremantle Dockers at the SCG. Do free, have a chance. - Whoa! - Oh, it's hard to see it. It's hard to see it at this point in time. But this is the team that can do that. When you don't give them a chance, they actually show something. But didn't mind Justin Mometer's tactics. He's not going in as the underdog. He's basically trying to get the boys to think positive and said, why can't we go there and win? Because they did last year, but without Alex Piers. I think he's structurally their most important player. Draper comes back in, walk up. They're going to play small ball. And small ball actually worked from a few times. And remember it worked really well for the West Coast Eagles going back to 2015, I think it was. They had so many injuries to their key defenders and they found a way. But this is the Sydney swans. I'm comfortable with the SCG. I'm comfortable anywhere they play. I think female can get within 30, but Sydney would do strong. - Very hard to tip against Sydney. And that's the only reason. I do give free man all a chance. They went great last week, but it wins a win. They take them, they're fifth on the ladder. They're doing everything right to get themselves a top four chance. And the double chance come finals time going into this back third of the season. But you'd be a brave man to tip against Sydney. None of us have. We've all gone for the swans. Scotty, Hayes, Hammer and myself. It's a clean sweep Sydney. Gold Coast, Suns vs. Collingwood at the People First Stadium in the Gold Coast. - There we go. - Damon Hardwick has said that he's team does not tag, but is it time to tag Nick Daikoff? - He got to put somebody on him, absolutely. He runs a mark. But the problem now is Penderbury's back and Jordan Dagoie's back. So if you tag one, then all of a sudden those other players get off the chain. And you've got to ask yourself, who would have sent in to it? Does it really matter if it's Nick Daikoff, Jordan Dagoie or Scott Penderbury? They all can hurt you by foot, like in all school goals, probably more Jordan Dagoie rather than Penderbury. But that's the decision for coaches to make on tagging. It can disrupt what you do, and you've just got to back in your place more often than not. And I think they will do that again. They get Ben King back. He was missing last week, but it's a tough one. They're really strong, aren't they? But you see them one week, and you see them away from home, and it probably shatters your confidence with the Gold Coast Suns. But at home, they are a different side. I'm going to back them in one more time, because if they want to play finals for you, they need a big scalp, and I'll give them a chance against Collingwood. Oh, wow, that's a big tip. Mark on Penderbury. My check's a huge win for Collingwood. Dagoie and Richards was playing some good footy. King and Holman returned for the... Hema's gone pies. Scotty's gone pies, because he wouldn't matter if they were playing real Madrid at the past. (laughing) You've gone sons. I'm actually going sons as well. I can't believe I've done that. I can't, and it's not, I'm not reflecting anything against Collingwood. I just think they are a better side. They were average here last week, the Suns, but they do grow a leg. Just, I'm going to regret it. Just the Suns for me. Oh, no, I'm with the pies. Of course you will. My check's back. Come on, I know you talk about the midfield, but pretty much. You've got to shed your magpie's skin. You're the female version. Oh, no, I would have gone free as well, but... Suns over magpies. Anyway, let's move on. Adelaide Crows vs GWS Giants at Adelaide Oval. Can Adelaide give any hope to their fans? Oh, I don't need to. They're under a lot of pressure, the coach there. I've actually picked them in this one. I'm sure the reason why I've done that... No, I don't understand. That was what we sold on the Giants. All the bit, the Giants do get a couple of their big name players back, Stephen Canilio. And also Harry Perriman, so important. But Taylor Walker comes back in, Riley O'Brien and Elliot Himmelberg. I just feel there's going to be one game where they get it on their own terms, the Adelaide Crows, and they show their fans what they're doing. And I think it can be this one at home. In a close one, I'll go to Crows. They stink mate, they're no good. No good. Giants win, easy, no problems at all, the Giants hurt. Not coming with a bullet, but they're certainly starting to get a little bit busier. Giants for me, Giants for Hammer. Giants for Scotty and the Outrider is poor Hazelbee. He's just, he's eyeing off top spot. He's gone for the Crows. Our next game, we've got Joel Longcat's first Essendon at the MCG. Now, Essendon don't have a great win-loss record against the cats. Do you think they could get up this game? Mm. Oh, they've been bullied and the mental psychology exists when it tends to go over you for a long period of time. It's hard to shed that because you go back and you reflect on your past performances and then they're unhappy. And on the other side of it, the cats just know the method that can beat the bombers. But this is a different bombers and now it's a different cat. They're in real trouble to catch if they lose this one. Yeah. And I think they will. I've been impressed with the bombers. Goldstein comes back in Gresham as well and celebrating a club legend. And that's what he's been. Former captain in Dyson Hapel, 250 games. He went through some tough times with the drug saga as well. And I think the team will get up for him and have a good win. All right, we've all gone for the bombers. All right, going to get through these glass through games because we've got news bearing down. Synchure vs Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium. No rhyme or reason. But I'm giving Port Adelaide one more chance. No, they're going to play finals. Putting they will fly back. You know who they've missed? Willy Rioli and he's back into the team. All they said is that player that can kick to and set up three. They're going to need all of that. I think they will. Yeah, Saints for me, Saints for Scotty and Hayes and Hammer have gone for Port Adelaide. Two more games. Richmond vs Carlton, MCG, 17th vs 2nd. Carlton E. Carlton for us. All everyone's gone for Carlton. All righty, here we go. And the last game, here we go. West Coast Eagles vs Hawthorne at Optis Stadium. What are we doing? No more excuses for the West Coast Eagles. This team, if they let you play, is one player off their best side. And I'm delighted you feel it. The only one not included. They're all available. Patrick Charlie goes out. Well, there's probably one that's missing. But the Hawks, if you said this game at the start of the year, you would have picked the West Coast Eagles given where the Hawks were at. Similar positions, at home, every player available. So I'm going with the West Coast Eagles. Hammer goes to the Eagles. Hayes goes to the Eagles. Scotty goes for Hawks. I'm going for the Hawks as well. That's round 16 done and dusted. And that is all for the team at base compression. Of course, base compression are proudly Australian.
