Resurrection Week – Day Three – Foot Washing
John 13:4 "Jesus rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself."
John 13:5 "After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded."
Washing of feet was necessary because of travel on dirt roads.
The servants washed the feet of those who entered the house.
They were considered the lowest servants. Jesus modeled servanthood.
He came not as one to be served but to give His life a ransom for many.
Mark 10:45 "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
