True power comes from God

When Jesus walked on earth He walked as a man anointed by God. It is Christ who lives in you! Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

It is important to be both filled and led by the Holy Spirit. The devil wanted Jesus to forfeit the plan of salvation by neglecting the Word. Jesus is the Word, so He would be forfeiting Himself, rendering himself to the devil’s suggestion instead of the power in the living Logos! Heaven and earth shall pass away but My Word will not pass away.
