But realistically gents what the Liverpool need to achieve in this fixture John I think we need a win to be honest. I'm I'm kind of yeah I think we need three points for the simple fact that you know, we've got Tony police after this one But I'm never ever comfortable less less comfortable against Tony Pulitzer now I get towards a million-year-old which is probably just an irrational fear, but Yeah, I think we need a win and I think we will get a win, right? Okay, and do you think any class of one is okay by you John as a Sorry, Trev, what was that any class of one is okay by you basically? Yeah, pretty much three points as long as it's three points near everyone, you know complete arse hanging out with Be fighting actually that way gags. What are you thinking yourself, mate? Mathematically a draw will do yeah, you know, then we obviously what that does is you put pressure on yourself for the for the palace game and And the Newcastle game as well. But what you don't know is what's gonna happen with City. So our pallets gonna Stop City as well on the weekend and and there's so many so many factors I just just all I think is we shouldn't lose. Yeah We can't lose and that's that's the main thing a win is brilliant. You know that puts you that puts you in You know in in pole position as you we already are anyway But that that win cements it and it actually tells a lot of people that we've just gone and beaten every big side This side of this side in the new year since the new year. We've gone and battered every big so okay not battered But beaten every big side and it would be really nice to win the league by by you know Sending that kind of statement. I mean for me ideally you win the last three and and and retell everybody We've matched the invincibles. We've matched their run of 14 wins in a row. That's the record in the Premier League And that's what you know, I hope we aim for when we achieve in the end good share that good share that Dave Thomas What are you thinking? Yeah, I mean I'm kind of with the lads. I mean my view is I think we'll win the league anyway So for me now, it's about how do we win the league? You know, I think regardless of the result done Sunday even if we last I still think we'd win the league because I don't think City will win all four games So for me, I think if we win Sunday, I Think that City Will know it's over and then they'll drop points of Palace and then we'll win the league of Palace But you think that if we lose though, it gives a message to City that just a hour later You know, it gives them a boost if we lose Of course it does. I mean that's exactly the result. That's exactly what we don't want doing. Well, yeah Well, we don't want well, that's exactly the result they will want my point is I don't think City have a four game When he's streaking them at this point in the season, you know at the end of the day They just drop points at home to Sunderland. They've lost David Silver So I'm confident that we win the league regardless of the result, you know, and I don't think Psychology is gonna come come into too much, you know in terms of city's ability to win their last four games I mean they've got Palace West Ham and Everton has three of their last four games and you know, none of them are easy games But I I think we'll win. I hope we win I think if we win on Saturday, then it's that's fine I think it's pretty much done and then I think we'll win the league of Palace. Very nice Phil First of all, I get your share on that what you think we need and then maybe you might start us on talking about the line-ups And we'll start with it back for what you see happening there and Man on the the nervousness here is fucking electric at this stage is like I think this has been the longest week I can remember going into a match ever right the between Chelsea playing in the Champions League as well And it just seems like it was an age ago that we that the Norwich match happened because it was an early kickoff as well on the Sunday morning This game can't come around like I think My home mindset around football is now just consumed what's happening in this Chelsea game And I did have an air of calmness going into all these games, but the closer you get to the prize the more The the least can you can be about these things because as Gags has said win this and it's such a marker It's such a it's such a statement to the rest of the league that you know We deserve to be league champions at this stage And if we don't win it though, Jesus like the lottery of this is a draw a draw is a nice result Right in terms of that we still are in the drive and seat We still know what we do have to do in the last two games and it still leaves it up the city to have to go and and do everything You know, they've no they've no where they've no sort of a ground for mistakes or anything to go on there But just you know, I Don't know I keep flip-flopping between yeah, we can beat them even with a week It's the so-called we can saw it the hundred twenty-four million quid we can solve that that shouts your type no feeling You know, I don't know so I'm just I'm I'm just really all over the shop though this game Yeah, meirus I agree with you can't you can't lose this because of the cock that merino, right? If you will you won't live it down We won't live it down if he feels a weak side and he beats us. Yeah. Oh my god He's gonna be so fucking insufferable after the game. Yeah, cuz he's not already He is but imagine what it would be like though. Yeah I know this chip on his shoulder and everything and then if they go and win the bloody Champions League, ah Maria's irrelevant. I see this is this is my issue I think that we we all complain about marinio and then we all make it about him. He's irrelevant right so regardless of the result He couldn't say what he wants in a paper. No, my thing is not about marinio It comes back to the idea of this weekend side, right? Yeah, if they were to beat us and city we're down to go on to win the league, right? That would piss me off more purely because I could accept being beaten by city say a couple of weeks go and losing the league to city Because they would have beaten us twice and proved of being the better tamed in us because the results would have showed it, right? But if we lose the Chelsea and then lose what lose the league to the city to city and we lose that We last the league purely because of the of a weakened Chelsea side in brackets as as a weakened Chelsea side, right? That would fucking really run you up no end. You just think about it. It just goes. Oh And it's not the old marinio. It's just it's just Chelsea. It's it's the whole thing about them It's it's like they're the most plastic. Lobby can actually think of right when it when it comes down to it like there Yeah, in England, it's it's the original money club in terms of it's the Abramovich was the force of the mega money to come in And everything about them is just so contrived since the since the early 2000s And it's just uh not them. Oh, no, no, and that's why that's that's why it just because nay And the whole thing is nay And all you want to do is put it fucking size 12 for up the rarsus and kick them out of town get the win on the board And just run palm to the championship. Oh, well look we will talk about the so-called weekend team and all the rest for later on We come to look at what Chelsea might look like, but look let's move along to the actual lineups and then what we think the team is gonna look like John do you see anyway in which Brendan messes with the back? For a lot No, not at all. I think Sackles put his way into the side. I think Scott's always been really really good I think I've anything they just need to be more aggressive on creating yard box You know, I think Category of never really well really never I think nailed that on on Monday night when they said that you know We're just getting dragged into our box too often and I think You've got two players there who can't be aggressive if they want to be and I think against Chelsea potentially we can and Getting given, you know, marine you was such a morning kind about no play as well. Actually, you know We can just give a molysis or cool just to kind of appease them. There's a player for you pal From my point of view, I think we stick with the back for it It's been consistent that there are issues, but you know, what why changing now? Yeah fair enough fair enough gags. It was you being completely agreement there, but John yeah If it's not broke what why fix it, you know, I think the last few games they've they've done okay There's been a few mistakes in there, but it's we've been picking up three points I don't think we should change anything now and it'd be harsh to drop Sacco for Aga wouldn't it right now Yeah, and you wouldn't you wouldn't really change your full backs and Skirtle whilst you can't drop scale because skills been the the main man at the back for the whole season and his and his and his Threat from set pieces. Well Seven goals you can't you can't argue with it. I want a bit specific to this game and what we might be facing You don't see any reason there that for the personality. Yeah, no, no, there's there's there strikers are awful Yeah, they don't actually have a striker so it's it's gonna be refreshing to see that we don't get any Yeah, the only way for me would be is is what's our is the bloody come here in school? That would that would really? Yeah, I think that's anything worse that could happen. That would be one of the worst things that could happen. It's yeah I started back what you're saying. I looked at looking at the line up that was being rumored That's been shown around for a start. I struggled to believe that that's the line up that that marina is gonna stick out This is just the attempt at this the so-called mind games And of course the press and his playtings are lapping it up to run into put it into the newspapers as fact But I just I see it that M when you look at you know, they're potential forwards. You know, it's either gonna be shorter And them about our Torres because that's the that's the trade I'm gonna pick from and as to what it is of the trade I'm them about probably the one that worried me the most in terms of, you know Strikers that we've traditionally struggled potentially with in terms of if the order to apply at set pieces and the whole and them about as a finisher Although he has struggled since he since he joined Chelsea Yeah, the guys I've had those premonitions of Torres scored like in the night toward minif or a one-year-old Scotty Chelsea win or something like that And I just like, you know, he hasn't scored against us and could you imagine if imagine if it was this fucking game? Oh, man Yeah, yeah, yeah, the story's kind of half-written while saying it right and Our defense as mad as it's been right in the big games with the exception of the city match has been very very solid Like you think to our home games against Everton against United against Tottenham against Arsenal. We didn't give away chances. We didn't concede many goals and for for all the logic that exists you can't you can't see what there would be a change in that emphasis and even when we played Them in Stanford Bridge the second goal we scored at his goal was a poor effort by Minile with the safe He gets a full hand on it. He didn't manage to put it around the post. So, you know The fear that we have is more to do with the The level of expectancy and what exists here if we don't win this game as opposed to a real fear If you're if you're to stand back and look at the potential teams that are gonna be pulled out cold They're missing potentially. They're better striking in it in the actual game Hazard is going to be coming back if he does make the game in terms of in fitness. I'm not I'm Logically, I shouldn't be fearing it as much as it is. I mean, I Think with our defense. There's a couple of things I think we we struggle more Ironically with the lesser teams the team will perhaps play a little bit more direct and cross more and a little bit more physical Whether I think we tend to struggle with that no Chelsea can play that way is the thing that worries me You know, I mean they are essentially just a more expensive version of West Ham sometimes I can also I don't worry about that. I mean, I'd be tempted to drop Johnson for the game I wouldn't bring anyone else I just think we'd be better without Johnson Yeah, I should have seen that your face was too serious. I just I genuinely thought he has been terrible last two games Yeah, I'm shocking it. I certainly just knowledge you as a poet. Yeah, I mean, he needs that policy to go to now He plays well against his former sites usually, so let's hope that that's one of those days. Well look It was sticking with our own team or what we think that our 11s gone look like There's rumors down in the storage himself Well, if you can't confirm it to an audience of children has confirmed these fit to play If that is the case Gags does he start for you every time? Yes, yeah, every time storage has to start The the pace he brings up top and then when you couple that with sterling's pace. It's double trouble and then you've got Suarez who's just so skillful. It just adds so much more to the side. They just It's more fear, you know, I mean you could see we continue up top it. It doesn't suit us I think continue is turning into that number eight and he's so much more lethal from from midfield breaking up play And then finding that one pass I mean you you can see a few goals this season from the Everton against Everton when he found storage against Arsenal when he found Stourages intercepting and playing that ball through and we're just absolutely hammering game of the teams on that counter all that breakup and He's quick over the first, you know ten yards or so when he intercepts and then he'll get caught up I think the other guys up top and much better and and then also what that does is it removes Luke kiss out of the team and He had a really good first half, especially the first 22 and a half minutes What why I say 22 hard 22 and a half minutes is because I analyze the game using some pressing stats And he was as good as Alan in the first 22 and a half minutes So he did start really well. Yeah, he faded towards the end of the end of the game and the second half was disappointing So I would if Lucas is gonna come on it should be only for half an hour and that should be at the end of the game Yeah, to be fair a lot of lads had flagged that up here as well John would you agree with that that basically the clear follow-on from storage starting is that later Lucas Labor is out? And it's that would you like to see? Yeah, if you look at a kind of tactical element just for a second, and I'm no tactician So anybody out there calling me, you know, I can't have a fair plate Don't let the illusion slip John don't let the illusion slip do it. We'll end up it up. You're a tactical genius This is the first time he's ever been a guest on a podcast tactical guru John Richard, you return to it, please I was on TBT before and I managed to see Cheat, you know, this is the level of my knowledge, but From that point of view if you look at their game against athletic the other night Athletic were really one-dimensional, you know, they tried to connect across the ball and into Costa They they never really had the kind of that kind of what we do intentional threat that we've got, you know We've got Jedi to, you know, who can place that pass to the kind of food at the edge of the box We've got continue who completed through ball really well We've got studying who can attack them from all angles and this we're kind of like swears and strategy if they come and part the bus We're going to be swarming them almost a bit like in a beach You know, they won't know what to do and I think it will be much harder for them against the team like us I think they struggled against city and I think we'll struggle against us as well You know, I think our attack will really kind of put them under pressure, but I think so One of the problems I suppose against Norwich was the fact that We didn't have anybody kind of running outside the swears It was all just a little bit kind of forced from swears and the fact that kind of stumbling was really really good And defensively we were a chef But I think how the studies have been in the team will probably would have annihilated them And I think that that's what we need against Chelsea just adds that other dimension You know, because we won't do an athlete who you won't do a kind of city where we are Almost too reliant on the one person and I think that's why we're so good upfront And the fact that kind of strategy gives us that are that element of kind of surprise So I think we've got to start them as for the Lucas thing Yeah, I thought Lucas was really poor against Norwich I thought playing him for the full 90 was probably a little bit of a mistake, but That's maybe because we've got kind of Henderson in mind In terms of his suspensions, so I think from my point of view If we need to kind of bring someone on else to kind of hold the game for the last half an hour the last 20 minutes or 15 Then I think Lucas is a better option to be able to do that because I think for that point will probably be ahead That's if one of the worries one of the worries here is that We've been scoring early every game Recently and if it doesn't happen here against Chelsea because they're going to be parking that bloody bus Then it's how patient we can be and we don't panic and the crowd doesn't panic and I hope you know All the support is is is the whole 90 minutes behind these guys because it might take a last minute goal in this game Rather than a first minute one you just don't know. It's just the way his teams are You know, they're gonna be tough to break down I mean it'd be brilliant if it if that trend carries on scoring early because I think I think we'd really do them But you just don't know with a team like this well guys there are ways of looking at this aren't there I mean we could I know a lot of people Cindy the results recently and seen us basically as writing our look But you could also see it as us being in training for just exactly the kind of scenario that you're talking about that Which is basically needing to be patient and just knock one out in the last minute to win or that just to confirm They're for the dirty bosses in the room. I mean to score a goal. Anyway, what do you think about me? Yeah, totally agree. Yeah, absolutely. Dave, are you going to knock one out of the little end of that? No, no, no, I'm like my only every till we win I was just I was just gonna be never got there was advocacy slightly I think that look started storage if that's the team that it comes out with the thing everyone's gonna be happy with right My worry is a little bit like gags said there Chelsea are going to be expecting us to come out and I'm really not gonna say get into halftime and then that's a great result, right? Yeah, you shut this team down They're gonna shit themselves the crowd's gonna go quiet. Then we come out second half So I think there might be an argument to start Lucas and say You know try and win the first half But bring storage on to definitely win the second half to have that threat because I the flip side of starting storage is We have nothing off the bench Moses is suspended. So you're talking about aspects or Alberto To come on so we have nothing to come off the bench So there's a little bit of me and I'm also a little bit worried about how 50 will be storage I think the worst thing would be it comes on for 20 minutes and he pulls again. Yeah, then we're really screwed So I'm not saying we shouldn't start so rich and I you know I think the lads are totally bang on I think there's loads of really sensible reasons why we would do it But I think there is a counter argument to say start with Lucas hold storage back and win the second half And we haven't won the second half of a game for a while You know, so I think that I think we could do with a good second half and storage gives us that So just a little bit of that was I'm not saying that's what we should do That's interesting fill between knocking on it and various polls after 20 minutes What where do you stand in this whole Lucas storage starting debate? Oh, it's it's I get the point But for me storage starts he has to start and it's purely because we need in my opinion We need to have our best 11 start this game because if even if if Chelsea have start their best Available 11 in this I I want to stick well with the with the team of mine that we are the the better side Regardless of who starts with Chelsea and if we want to go out with our best side and Daniel storage is the man that goes down With the team sheet and was sick with me there and then talk to me about the players behind him then pick themselves clearly So the whole the whole team is the only question mark all you have right comes back to where we were talking about the defense They're on around sake on agar right and if Torres was starting in this game agar has had the measure of Torres in every single game. They've played yeah, right and when when they faced up since Torres moved to Chelsea and The type of strikers that Chelsea are gonna have on the pitch If it's them about you plays into tacos hand if it's Torres He you know as I said you agar has his measure you wonder is there maybe a bit there that you know And thinking back to the other game. We started agar that noise at left full Sacco came into the team and agar was playing left full instead of I think Flanagan was was out injured at the time And he didn't play at least a circle And I wonder was there a one-oy maybe on on Chelsea starting Torres that might to make sure that we had agar on the pitch because it becomes a Mental team we know the Torres gets into the sulky mode you could see it against it let it go Madrid I don't want to do was run through the players that he was playing against right and you're talking about squaring up your best players against their best players Are there most efficient threats in attack? That would be my only selection consideration when we go in but it's so much Storage is a hundred percent fit. I mean a hundred percent fit because with the type of injury he has a strain on the leg what you don't want to them start for ten minutes and as you say losing them and going off But if he's if he's proved himself a hundred percent fit then he go then he starts. Well, okay Well, let's move sideways from selection to tactics and it was like what I was leading towards ready with the midfield Then the guys who obviously picked themselves behind him what shape are they gonna be in did we see the diamond again? Do we see Sterling at the tip, but how's it? How do you see that panel there? Well, I don't think I think for you start the game with the diamond and then you react to how the game progresses from there The one thing that having those having the 11 our best 11 on the pitch that we have is the tactical fluidity that the players have They can go from a diamond to a four tree tree Stirling can pull wide Suarez can go to one side You know you can get at them in various different types of ways if the diamond isn't coming off you And you can also react to how Chelsea potentially set up whether they go with a flat tree across the midfield Whether they try to match up a diamond as well, you know, you've got some if so much variation in that 11 Which you don't have if Lucas plays because in reality if Lucas plays we can only really Swell up to a four to three one where Lucas will drop in beside your eye and become a second pivot in there And we don't want to really I want to say that now really and just one more on the on the on the diamond issue And guys will come to you on that is it would you really without the basically we could see various different formations as the game pans out? It's so flexible. It's unbelievable I mean the this side he's done such a brilliant job Brendan Rodgers in in terms of you know We doubted him we doubted him at the start when we started the podcast in November We were doubting him big time because it was we were having some dodgy results here and they're losing to losing at home To Southampton and then losing away to hole and we were like well what's going on but since then he's so you know It's just shut everybody up and everybody's just said well this guy's just a genius whether it's fallen in his lap I don't know all these players But he's he's definitely done a job on and whether it's dr Steve Peters as well giving them so much confidence in themselves and getting rid of you know smacking down that chin because he says I think I think all of it fits together in one and and that tactic and the tactics that we're doing now is just It's just brilliant. He's just make sure we can go from a diamond to a four three three sometimes a four five one You know, it's just it's it's superb. It's a lot. I don't see any problems with with what Phil said there It's gonna it's gonna change it's gonna evolve During the game is gonna keep changing and he'll he'll probably spring out of surprise knowing knowing Rodgers Yeah, the smoke quotient in the bunker here It just went through the fucking roof for you three that's when you were saying about you know I'm supporting by the way three that's you're gone. I always did I always did big smoke Seriously big smoke heads on as Casey does ducks on the table. Yeah It's not like there's no evidence we can go back Okay Guys, can I keep you on there because I know you've done a little bit of work for us on the idea of chance creation And how basically restricting Chelsea's opportunities to do the same be vital for us And you have some stats on this whole idea of chance creation I've got a little bit of historical stats. So going back the five years obviously with one three Drawn one lost one at home against Chelsea the one that we lost was their championship winning year You know nine ten. I don't have clear-cut chance stats for for that time that they weren't actually Collected by opta in those days. So When they when they did start it was in 2010 11 so that year We'd won two nil. We'd only created one and Chelsea had created two so they created more And the other year was the day that a couple of days after the epic up funnel You know when we lost to them. Yeah, and then we went when we went to beat them for one And I honestly don't really count that match because they just didn't give a shit the day that day No, that's fair. Yeah, and we we'd created six clear-cut chances. They'd clear they'd created one And then last year which was a surprise because I thought Chelsea, you know played well at amfield last year The two two for what what I can remember, but they only created the one clear-cut chance and we created five So that's a lot in one game. I mean the record this year was eight against arseville And that's against the big teams only But if you look at if you look at the season as a whole Liverpool have created 80 clear-cut chances and and Chelsea only 43 that's an average of 2.28 for Liverpool 2.29 for Liverpool and 1.23 for Chelsea So it's much less and then the ones that have scored Liverpool are scoring 1.51 clear chances To Chelsea's 0.94. So again if we get them and we create them at home We we should win this and then you look at the conversion as well. It's really similar around 1.37 1.31 Against the top five so against the traditional top five six and we haven't played Chelsea yet So the other the other five teams united. I know united not top five. Sorry, but you know where I mean the traditional united evident Sorry arsenal spurs in city. We've created 19 clear-cut chances at home unbelievable That's that's an average of 3.8 a game, you know and we've converted 1.8 But in conceding against them at home We've only given away three clear-cut chances this season to those five teams That's nothing and that's 0.6 an average of 0.6 and we've and the opposition have scored 0.4 as an average So, you know if that trend continues You're looking at a two-nil win or a two-one win If that if that trend continues, you know against the top lot, but the big one was Arsenal where we scored four out of eight I mean that's that's that was again. That was just a phenomenal day Um guys guys just just you didn't see the stats are I'm only asking because I don't know myself They on their set piece conversion rate compared to ours. I'm I haven't no no The one thing that interested me because we're the fan of it's coming back into the team And he he's a good man for scoring off set pieces as with Terry gone out of the actual team as well He's punished us. He's punished us before. Yeah, and that's that when I was looking at it saying You know looking at that their potential line up that if advantage and k-hil as the center has and louise is playing You know They're actually more They're more mobile than they would have been had Terry being playing in the defense and defense was set up around Terry as it normally is And it's interesting that you know that looking at the stats that you said it will it doesn't Bow towards a particularly high score and game unlike the other games that we've played in And what what what what is your take like you you've you've you've had it You've you've looked the press and start in order from ours Can can you can you see has been able to replicate the level of pressing in the center midfield that the guys have done? In pre it totally depends on how much of the ball shall see get that's the thing I don't think I think if they come and do what they did against Athletic then they're not going to have much of the ball And that's where the patience but it comes in and that's where the pressing then goes down And and what we like is right now We like the other team to have a little bit of the ball at least 40 I'd 45 because then we can absolutely hound them and press them and and really Push them back and and get those errors and what those errors are and I think you must have read a lot of the times What what pep guard yola says? Sorry about the doorbell there Um, but what pep guard yola says is you know Press press that ball when they receive the ball and wait to see if there's a if there's a bad touch In terms of you know if the ball You know split it away A couple of yards or a yard or or if it's bad You know any any kind of mistake and then just pounce and that's what henderson and allen and sterling And stowage and swears have been doing really well. I mean allen for example This season he's averaging Um, pressing action so he's pressing the ball every 3.1 minutes That's the best in the squad in this and i've only done this for seven of the 11 games So seven out of the 11 games that we've done in a row that we won in a row I've only collected for the seven because because of time constraint Obviously takes it takes hours and hours to do this because I have to do it manually myself. So 3.1 You want to get a robot? I'm working on it man. I'm working on it So, um 3.1 minutes pre-pressing action for allen 3.6 minutes pre-pressing action for henderson 4.5 minutes pre-pressing action for Coutinho and Lucas so they're matching so I think that Coutinho is just a little bit ahead 4.46 And then Gerard 5.8 instilling 6.7 so you see how important allen having someone like allen You know coming in for henderson is I know there's he probably doesn't have the work rate That henderson has but he sure does have The ability to press the opposition now a lot of people have said they think that Liverpool won't be able to press as much in this game just because um Chelsea Chelsea are going to be defending. Yeah, Dave Thomas if you apply the science there that's later so well But gags you are looking at the importance of Coutinho of allen Of sterling of all her little terriers getting in and around them aren't you and forcing as he says those errors that we can hopefully capitalize on Yeah, particularly with Chelsea's potential midfield of lampard mckell and martich Um, so martich is actually fairly mobile, but but lampard and mckell are not particularly mobile at all actually Um, so I think if we give that's why I'd probably go with the diamond for this game because if you can get The three Coutinho allen and stood in as well as jared pressing from the back in and around them I think we'll have too much for them in terms of our energy and you know, it's I'm always amazed I was I was interested there to hear about the pricing action and in particular the quality horror piece because It's so interesting how often we just nip the ball off their toe And actually if you look at it, we don't do tackles really I mean lucas does he just goes and whack someone in the corner and gives them a free kick But you know on the whole what we tend to do is try and nick the ball And the free kicks we give away is when we've missed that, you know, we miss the nick So I think that if that's their midfield and we play the diamond plus where sware isn't started dropping in as well That could be the way that we that we win it. The problem is going to be is they won't want the ball You know that they're not going to want the ball. So we're this is where I think we're going to have to be tactically Flexible and say okay. Well, maybe if we've got the ball We need to go to four three three and and move them moving phases a little bit more move the move the fallbacks up and press them in And then hope that sware is or continue or stir in our service does something magic in the box But if they have the ball, we will win the pricing. I think it's just as gags said where they have the ball Yeah, john, it's a real it's going to be a real real test of character this and you know We'll hopefully set ourselves up and play our game the way we want to see it played But the atmosphere might be a little bit of a worry the tension might be a bit of a worry the expectation levels at the moment are just Out of an unprecedented level. I mean The lads seem to be taking their stride. I mean their calmness is admirable, but um, it could really start the way heavily given the proximity of Of a potential victory here. Well, how do you think that's gonna go on the day? See This is the thing. I think if this was any other kind of Liverpool side or us last season Then I think we would have kind of fallen to pieces long ago But it's been really interesting that that from our point of view We've just kept going we've kept winning we've come through some really really squeaky situations And from our point of view, I don't have that concern. I think for me the expectation is kind of You know, I was there in 2005 when when we had that incredible atmosphere on that road to Istanbul And I remember the stadium shaking It literally felt like it was shaking Um, and the players just adapted really well to that and I can see a situation Whereby we have the same kind of thing happen I think the kind of players need that and I also think the crowd are at the sort of stage and I don't know if we call it maybe our development or whatever whereby You know, I was there on Monday for the kind of celebration of the 96 and we're sort of speaking to a lot of people and uh I was saying, you know, from the Sunderland game How have you sort of moved on from that and taking a transpose that into like the kind of spurs result the city result And everybody's just sort of said, you know, actually now we're confident that the team Can grind out these results were confident that they're going to do it Whereas before we thought oh god same old liver pool And I think if we'd have had that last season if we had that that that kind of same mentality That we seem to have and not had to see if Peter's kind of adapting himself as well Then I think it could have been a major issue. I think on the expectations site I suppose my warning is that you know, say if it all does go tips up and I don't think it will do but If it all does go tips up and we don't win the league actually not win tips up, you know, we've qualified for the champions league We've done something. Yeah, excellent. You know, I I really don't feel like we're celebrating this enough I was sitting thinking today. Just oh fuck. It's going to be brilliant next season I'm back in the champions league back playing some awesome games And and to me that's kind of what it's all about And I think, you know, of course I want us to win the league of course I want us to do that But I don't want us to kind of lose like what an amazing achievement has been to get us where we've been So I think I think that's the the key thing if we can kind of take all that then I think we'll be absolutely fine And that's that's the that's the the ideal way of looking at john, isn't it that you kind of appreciate what we've got Because the achievement that we set out at our wireless streams is already there and better even than we had hoped You know, we're not top four. We've got automatic qualification straight into the group stages But you try telling that to a pack down field when we're one down and it's there's a couple of minutes left It's going to be it's going to be Tenses be jeez a big negative bollocks you when we're one down to a pack down field for fuck sake man I'm trying to fucking put the worst case now to john who's being lovely and positive You get your chance to be miserable can't do the math The thing is here is that you know at like I watched the the setty game with um gemfish vlog And um, I said right from the start of it. I said right, you know what? I've just got this feeling we're going to do them and I watched the and and we did you know initially we we we sort of came through a bit of a Scaling a second half, but I was never nervous about it. Where is the the whole sort of knowledge thing? I was completely I don't know if it's because I was watching it, but what I'm all wife who's a knowledge fan and it was just a complete nightmare. You know, right? Yeah in a marriage on the rocks, you know Actually for me for me that there's like in another element to kind of What what's happening here is that you know now? I believe that we can go and beat a Chelsea. I believe that we can you know beat some of the best teams that I'm good I don't think before there was either that belief at an field or or there was that belief in the players When I think now that they have that. Yeah, that's what we've kind of got to take taking the consideration I mean don't be under any illusions if we if we do this if we win this league will be the first team since I think what's it ever in? Um and how our kendo, you know in 1984 who managed to come from seven To the first, you know that that someone has never been repeated in the Premier League area. What? Yeah, yeah first time in the Premier League It's never been repeated and and from that point of view it's 30 years and what this team is doing at the minute is Absolutely special and people shouldn't lose sight of that but I think where the people where people mentalities are now is that Actually that they've decided to get behind the crowd and give the crowd a kind of a good going over It was funny even people who booed mike alone on Monday got booed because people were just thinking of yeah, I heard that Yeah, honestly, it was a people like in the stands and I was about to get up and boo someone says how you know Don't boo, you know, you got to get behind the team and I'm thinking fucking hell this is mike It's mike, mike, mike, mike, mike and then there's our Bruno, Shario and Salif Joe and he said are you fair enough? But um it's just it's funny how that atmosphere and field has really changed It does feel like a different place these days. Yeah, there's a there's a calm. Isn't there John? It's nice. It's There's a calm there. Isn't that kind of party mood either? It's very much, you know We've got kind of got to go and do the business, but yeah, you know, I think the crowd are well up for this That's awesome. That's awesome. And I think I'll be rocking Phil let's look at the team we're facing and poor old Jose's he's been out in the press and He's going to be restricted. He's got to play the kids and god knows what sort of what sort of Sort of a half team he's gonna have to put out what sort of tactics he'll be forced to to to employ or do we know Exactly, and we know exactly who's gonna play. It's it's very interesting. Um, looking at how Chelsea approached this match. They Have any chance to win in the league they have to beat us, right? But I don't think the league is now the priority for Chelsea I think they've got an eye on the champions league. It's like the The clubs that marino's being at he's you know, since he's been since he's being a portal He's only not won the champions league of two teams and that he's being which is Madrid and Chelsea now he has a chance to sort of write that in terms of the history books leaving Madrid being the only one if he can win it this year I see them coming Well, I watched the match back last night Headed us to see if there's anything you can pick up from two massively different teams and a different situation And we were going in after the man city game. You watched the previous Chelsea matches were yeah Yeah, yeah, I watched the game from from back at christmas time and I looked at it then and it was very interesting to see like we hit them so early It was about three minutes when we scored the open and go Um, and it looked like we were gonna be on one of our rocky rocking games where you know anything could happen And what Chelsea did very effectively was they went more or less match this up and then exploited our weaknesses And they they tried to hit us down the void areas and then come inside and target Luke's Luke's his tendency to follow in after a ball as opposed to a pay attention to what's going on with with the three players the flow behind them And I don't think If Gerard in as as a defensive midfielder has come on so much in the last five or five months since he'd been playing there Since the villa game. I don't think he he now follows the ball or tracks the ball Is drawn to the ball as much as lucas was in in playing in that role in stanford bridge So I don't think they'll have the the sort of free run that the tree had behind the Ezio that that was there that noise and I think that were set up better in that way So that leaves me looking at the let it go game and looking at it that they would probably look to sit deep And try to deal with true quick transition So to go back to what gags are saying that we won't be pressing as much But they'll try to exploit us clinically on a counter attack that with if Gerard happens to push up to try help You know with the cause that they'll then look to exploit any gaps and particularly down the flanks And if they have salah Fizz and you're looking at Oscar as well on william the tree of them are able to drift wide And they've got plenty of pace about them and they can get down and sort of exploit gaps that will potentially be left by glen johnson And flan again and at that point then we're going to need gyrards now Tactical ability that he has to drop in become the towards center half and let's scare it Let's go and press those those two flanks And it's also Coming back to talking about the other guys that are going to be midfield the way they set up If you look if they've mckell lamppard and mattage now mattage is a fantastic player We saw what he did when he when he played against city in in the yeti at stadium How he was able to take that that city midfield and completely dominated single-handedly against the aiatori and finonee Daniel today And he just saved yourself right they do have an awful lot in their locker even even with the with the players that are missing They have enough they cannot pick our our team. They cannot pick the weaknesses out there. So Haven't continue haven't um alan they're going to be so essential to being the first line of defense In terms of of not letting mattage get in the ball Not letting being able to open up spaces and unlock the areas that they they will try to exploit us on the counter attack I can't see marinio come on and try to go hell for letter and try catch us out with you know with a very fast start I think he he's what he's a master at is is tactically Being able to sit back absorb below the pressure and then grab one with 20 minutes to go Which which is the most dangerous time to go because the other team can't really respond to what goes on um And that way if you look at the way when they got the two goals fairly quickly against us in After we scored the opener was within a half an hour They were back in the actual game and then the run top in the game And what they did then was they let us just play in front of them Um, we got behind them a couple of times, but they did try to force us wide We're talking about let go seem very one-dimensional Well, they were start to push that way if you look the line seven up across they didn't create allow any spaces in front of them They let them have the ball 25 30 yards out happy enough but drove them out into wide areas Which were forcing crosses in which the two boys in in the central defense were able to deal with And I'd imagine that'll be the identical type game plan they're going to go with it against us on sunday They will try to drive us wide known that we don't like crossing the ball And that we don't have say a big target man to hit across us It'll have to be trickery on the sideline to get in behind them at that point in a pullback or something to open up the actual defense Yeah, I mean the the thing that gives me a little bit of hope Well, I have a lot of hope. I mean, I think I think we're win, but we're better than we were in that game No, we're a better side, you know, we're better balanced. We'll have we'll have a stronger side I think storage was the same missing for the the chassis game was So we're better and they'll be worse because they they won't play their best side So I don't think willy in the play. I don't think or school actually play. I don't think you know, I think he'll rotate quite a lot He's not gonna play check there. He's not playing. So That gives me a little bit of hope and in that game the game that we lost We're a bad. How would web decision away from a point? Do you know what I mean? We should have had a bounty in the game Uh, it should have got sent off in the first five minutes. So I mean even in that game Even though I thought we weren't the better side in the game. We could have come away with a result Well, I I they when I looked back last night as I said In the colloid the day looking back at the game by jesus lucas gives a terrible like Lucas Gave a penalty away in hazard. Like he just comes in and just body checks him in the box for absolutely no reason The guy was going nowhere and I was like, you know As much as the web decision was infuriating, you know, we did get away with one in the fourth half as well Which it could have been three one and then you know But marino's two games away from one in the champ is league Yeah, it is two games away from equaling paisley's record He's two games away from being the only manager in his shoes ever won it with three different clubs He's two game and he he he is a pragmatist at heart and he is going I can't win the league because he he kind of talks in definitive like that He like he'll say and if you I was saying to try earlier if you read the extracts of this book that's been written about him by this Journalist in spain, you know, he's really Machiavellian and I think it will appeal to him almost this sixth sense that He won't win the league he'll be able to blame the referees because you know He'll claim these are all these bad decisions and you know what I went the one the champions league anyway I think that will actually be a nice little narrative for him rather than be deliverable Finishing as you know selfish third finishing third and not being able to blame anyone I think I just got this feeling that he would not actually be distraught with No injuries and okay, they lost the game, but it was the you know the referees have robbed us Anyway, yeah, but we knows he knows doesn't need that he's got to if he even if he beats Liverpool He's got a he's got a basically depend on man city to lose points as well. It's not just and then Liverpool to drop Yeah, we've got to lose again. Yeah, we've got to lose again because of our goal difference He knows that it's a big ask now for him for Chelsea to win it. So, I mean, I I hope he comes with the kids I don't I wouldn't give a shit. I think he's got a bit of a I think he thinks that he's on main that he wants to prove a point um I'm kind of not actually making events that that many news really try in main games He's maybe trying to fuck with the crowd, but he's not trying to I think I think Roger knows I'm probably too well Um to be kind of taken in by what he's doing, you know, I think everybody forgets Roger's does noise methods He's studied them in detail. He's walked with the guy really closely I think I think from my point of view think from marinio's comments lately He really does have a kind of a thing that that Chelsea had been held back You know that Chelsea have all had all these refereeing problems That they've kind of not been supported in in being a successful advocate for english football in europe And I think that actually that was he's not going to bring the kids I don't believe that for one minute But I do think that he would love nothing more than for liver food to get a controversial win or something like that Because actually it kind of to the outside world or at least in his mind kind of proves his point feels this fire Yeah, absolutely. And I think you know I've kind of probably read the same Coach you have even in terms of those Um, you know, what they're kind of saying about him over in spain in in in in that that that that is a consensus You know, it is this kind of Machiavellian guy who who does have that kind of sick Pleasure and and and and being the victim almost, you know, I'm just taking great pleasure out here ever since this time bill You know, we've never been able to forget it was the ghost goal You know, we don't deserve it and all that type of stuff And and and actually I think he'd love nothing more but you know what fuck it. I don't care You know if we get three penalties. We don't deserve or whatever Fine if we win the league. I don't I really don't care That's an even better way to be better. That makes it better. Every once in a day. Don't you penalties? Everybody wants that. Wait penalty pool, penalty pool. Yeah, it's going, it's going to be a chicken Gags talk to me then just to wrap this up About what you think then and following on from what john's saying about you know, this this kind of narrative that marion Might be trying to kind of uh propagate himself What sort of team do you expect to see? I mean, I have to be honest I think it'll be still relatively strong myself and Dave spoke about early on and we can think of five players They could play across the tree and that's even with the suspensions and injuries and all the rest of it It's ridiculous. Yeah, they've got a huge squad they can They will come and play With a with a strong team. I think I was talking to someone called Chelsea rumors on today. He's a good guy He works on the EP around table. Sorry. He goes on the EP around table podcast a lot with the with our guys there But um, he was making a point that will it won't be the first team. That's all It won't be a reserve side. Yeah, it just won't be the first team So he's trying to say that out of the 25-man squad They've got and they've got a decent 25-man. So so they're going to be playing people like sala and shilla and and matic I'm sorry, but that's that's very good. I would take those players of course. Yeah. Yeah, of course We were after william might play, you know, we were after william and um and and and sala anyway So if they're good, but this is what i'm trying to say. It's this team will still be very good And they're gonna have maybe louis and Kayhill a center backs. That's that's what they won the euro per with last year. I think that was the squad that they won The champions leave with the year before so they've got team. They've got players in this squad that have won everything everything so I He can talk as much as he wants about Having a weak side, but it's really not that weak It's just trying to put it into people's heads and you you've now got like i'm at work today and people are coming up to me Go yeah, how's it gonna put a weak seat side out? I'm like are you taking the piss? Yeah, are you taking the piss? We've got 11 we've got 12 men that can play We've got 12 players. Yeah that we can trust. Yeah, just fucking 12 Anything happens to any of them in training and the whole liberal support is shitting itself You know aspus is going to score hat chicken Here we go the fucking askbast thing Support every player. I would love it. It's just not going to happen Right then guys So he's only one behind van wobeswinkle. Yeah Well, I've seen it seen as you started the ball rolling here with this kind of talk guys give me a prediction for how you think this is going to go I've said in the part of the other part. I said 2-1 so I'll stick with 2-1 John. What are you thinking? I think 3-1 going to go 3-1 for this. I think we'll outscore them quality Dave Thomas I think we will win 2-1 and it will be horrible Horrible to endure. I can see something like that as well. I think we might get it as far as one or what do you think for? I'm already crawling up into the fetal position now trying to take a picture at this stage Um, I have to go with my standard 4-0 Too Chelsea. Yeah, I love it. I love it. Excellent. I do think we're gonna hug you don't know Do you yeah, I've the same feeling as I had before arsenal and Everton and Tottenham and You're trying to point that pattern here for yeah. Yeah, 19 nil. We're going to win Didn't you say we'd lose at least one of those games? I think you find it was obvious. Yeah, hang on. I just want to load a score. It's 3-1 It's out to draw Fucking draw yeah John you've seen pictures of the stadium and gags. What was your take on the new stadium so far? Personally, I think it's fantastic. I think I know people have been complaining about the size and all in relative terms But you know given that we want this the majority of fan base will prefer to stay at Anfield and the restrictions that we have on On the actual site that we're on without disrupting the stance that are there I can't see how they would have come to anything better than that I'm disgusted. How are you? I'm disgusted at the negativity on Twitter about the stadium. I got you there, didn't I? I I absolutely um a bold over by it. I love it. I think it's brilliant I think they've kept They've tried to keep you know the cop that what the cop looks like the stadium looks like now and and make it modernish by the Surroundings, you know the the park and how they've got all the you know the trees and all that they're making it look Nice in that way, but the stand the stadium is actually looking like Anfield. It's just a bigger version of it Yeah, so I don't I don't actually see any problems and the the numbers that are being thrown around how we're going to be competitive You know in what we're earning we're not going to stop earning while we're building it. Yeah, you know, it's a no fucking brainer I can't believe people are clicking off about a positive step a step that we've all been fucking waiting for for so long And and it's going to move us to another level. It's it's it's a no brainer mate This is this is a fantastic move for the club and anyone that's negative about it really honestly getting the fucking bin Yeah, well the only thing I suppose I'd say on We are by definition day trippers, right? So we are by definition people who don't live and live a pool We don't live in the area where you know, we're not people that go to every game. So I suppose I mean, you know, I think it's a great positive step I think it's delivering what people have one day instead of in what a lot of people have said They want just delivering what the owners have promised But I do think people who live in the area in particular and people who You know, you hear stories about people who've been on a season ticket list for 10 years and who can't take their kids to games And I I can understand a little bit why They're a little underwhelmed. I don't think they should be necessarily overly critical I don't think that there's there's a lot to criticize But I could totally understand how if you're from that city and in particular if you're from that area, you know, from the surrounding streets There's been a lot of mismanagement of the process So I think what we're seeing today In terms of the reaction on Twitter from the majority of I think the genuine people who have something to say is Some of it is a little bit of bloodlet in from the process, you know, in terms of how we've got to this point Unwearingness, isn't it? Unwearingness and some of it is just people going I wish it was bigger and I can kind of get that You know, if I lived if I lived 30 minutes from Anfield and what and was it, you know, I'd love a stadium that I could take my kids to Or I could get on a season ticket So I'm not saying I agree with that No, no, no, no, actually possible is it to make it any bigger? It's but gags gags I'm not saying that I'm not saying that I agree with all of that What I'm saying is that you you can't say that people who are critical of it Shouldn't be critical of it because we're in a different situation to them They have legitimate I think concerns and while the people who are critical of it, perhaps I've represented what is the optimum solution Because that's difficult to do without knowing the inside figures I do think people have a right to air a little bit of frustration Given what's happened over the last 10 years with regards to the stadium Yeah, gags and then jobs I think from F is cheese point of view, though, if you're going to look at it up until December It was really, really easy to get a ticket You could get spares and Anfield wasn't really selling out other than for the major games And then ever since the time of the year since we started that run It's been now unimpossible, you know, like tickets are expected to sell out in seconds now And from F is cheese book point of view, they're going to look at this and say, do you know what? We'll see how it goes within an extended capacity And what they have announced is kind of room to do more I think From from my point of view, I do get the negativity I understand that people want this It's an amazing kind of ball, but at the same time, I think part of the brief is to keep and feel downfield And I think one of the reasons it's special is the fact that the current design is it You know, the way it is just now that there's something unique about it And I personally would be against having a ball or so on I completely agree with what you're saying there, though Dave, in the sense that You know, from a local point of view, people do want to Take the kids to the game, people do want to have affordable tickets And I think if that's what they were looking for for this expansion They're probably never going to get it I think the whole point of this expansion was to be able to compete on a corporate level And I think, you know, I think this is an field that a really good kind of piece of analysis today Based upon one of the open sessions that they ground earlier, which kind of said that, you know The kind of corporate increasing capacity Probably as a ratio will be greater than the actual demand for kind of like general access tickets And I think that's one of the things, you know, if we continue to do well And then the club over the SS that were just on one last point on that is You know, I think Andy Heaton made a great point earlier. He said that, you know, from Given the new TV deal, given the Champions League money, would they have moved from hybrid? Um, rather than redeveloped it and I think potentially not, you know, if you look at its cost them 450 million To develop a new stadium for 60,000, you know, we're going to have 58,000 For 150 million and not have to move around I think you've kind of got a good option and I think, you know, while it's not The the perfect solution. It's a pretty damn good compromise I think like personally, sorry, just what my personal take on it was that if we go for a big If we were to go for the new stadium, you were looking at 64,000 Right, and you're talking it's an addition of 7,000 in terms of what they're actually going to deliver with with this one, right? You know, something that Isn't Achievable at the moment is safe standing But if we had safe standing as well in it, right, you're Then your capacity can come up past the 60,000 mark without actually having to change anything in the ground And retain the safe structures that are there Now if that ever happens, then you know, that the whole idea of affordable tickets and all can come Will be more likely to happen in that space than a redeveloped because if you go and redeveloped the St Henry again It's gone to result in similarly more corporate stuff going in because that's where the major money is made on on the ticket sales Like let's let's be honest about it. You know, I mean if you're talking about getting, you know, cheaper tickets and more fans into the pitch Something has to change in terms of how that the ground is set up and There is the big debate around safe standing and we have our own things with hills, but in all where, you know That wouldn't be acceptable for the fan base at this moment in time, which is fully acceptable, right? But that that would be like a logical progression if you wanted to get more affordable tickets and increase the capacity without having to go and change anything again And by remaining where we are we're going to be limited even even with it with the boy up of the houses and the land around the actual ground You're still going to be limited to what size you can do with the existence structures without having to shut the whole stadium down Or shut part of the stadium down during the during the season and that diminishes your turn and increases the cost of actually Amazing part of this this builder. That's the amazing part that they're not going to shut Yeah, shut it down, you know, I mean, that's that's phenomenal and that ensures that the club keeps running at the level it is right now Yeah, and then it and then it shoots up. Well, you saw the plans guy like Last week and so before it as well Like you look at how the cross-section of how you're going to build or the cross-section of the new standing in comparison to where the existing main stand is at the moment And you when you actually see it like when you see the cross-section that the existing roof goes in at the level of where the Force tier of the new stand sits. So effectively they're going to build the the corporate boxes without the tier For the seating part and the new tier of the main stand around the existing structure That's there and then take it take away the roof because we're started about would you take the roof away forced or would you you know And my brain and I was saying that you couldn't really take the roof away before the new stand is built because you'd have a completely open stand Well, the build is going on. So it depends on what they'd be able to deliver over over the the closed season As to how they'd actually progress that route, but it's a it's a it's a monster It's it's a monster sort of you know build that's gonna that's gonna happen on this ground and it's phenomenal Look at the look of the ground. It retains that red brick look straight away It's it's an individual classic stadium look about about the actual ground And you know in the documents as well They said that they didn't want to fill in the corners because they wanted to retain the uniqueness of the four stands Right that there's four separate stands and the corners aren't filled in I'm sure down the line if they ever wanted that they could put the corners in as it's you know as as a next stage, but I think they've said they can't. I think they've said the cloud they definitely can't Yeah, definitely can't because of the way it's designed well then for the Like in between the corners. I've got these kind of stanchions You know the kind of uh the main stanchions and then that basically allows the the cop to remain Free of kind of pillars actually would have to really alter the design of the cop And probably you know like the whole stadium if they had to take those away So I think we've also john the main stand's going to have those tensions also Apparently Absolutely. So we've been able to keep the cop though. Okay. Look at the benefits. It still looks like ironfield. It's still cold field Um, it's as you've been able to keep the cop I honestly think it is a really good solution I think there's always going to be more we can ask from the club and more that we can We can ask to be invested, but it's simply not practical to do anymore You know, we just don't have the infrastructure around a lot of people to be able to do it So I want to think it's a good solution And I think that the You know, I agree with everything that's been said and I think that I'm not an architect And I'm not an accountant, right? But I would imagine that there's lots of architects and lots of accountants who've looked at the all sides of this And I'm sure that this is the best solution And the truth is that that as a fan who doesn't live a Liverpool You know, I would rather 200 million got spent on the team that got spent on a stadium to increase the capacity from 60 000 000 000 as an example But but I guess I'm just pointing out that there are people who For a long time have been promised a stadium a new stadium more season tickets And if you if you are one of those people there's been on that list And I think john's right. I don't think it's ever going to get fixed. I don't think any stadium we could build Any expansion we could do to anfield is going to fix that a new stadium is probably the only way to do it I totally get why it's commercially enviable. I totally get why You know, there's probably loads of reason they want to stay in anfield But I think the stadium issue is such an it's it's like such a Bad toxic issue and has been for such a long time I think it's going to take some time. It's going to need some progress to actually like Dare I say it a speed in the ground to actually happen before I think a lot of people will begin to go. Okay. Well, this is what's happening and now let's go on board with it So I think it's a overly positive I completely agree about the speed in the ground thing. Um, you know, I think Most of you probably remember walking around Stanley park when it was boarded up and thinking yeah, this is going to be yet Um, we've seen all the plans all the same sort of process has happened And I think for a lot of finds it's going to take a speed in the ground for this to actually become believable Um, and and you know, that's just the way it is But it's one of these things is in terms of the football price argument I think that that's something that needs to be done by the league and we need to keep pushing the club to be able to do that And to take that argument up with them, but I think that's the only way you're going to get affordable tickets I think it's a definite issue to the stadium itself Just just one one final look at the the actual look of the stand coming back to Just the pure design that was put out there I'm blown away by the pillars the the columns that are on the front of it It just gives such an imposing feel to the actual stand But when I saw the first thing that struck me mind was I was taking it like set the park and I rocks in a few of the other stadiums as well That the pictures have been knocking around in terms of what's there But the one thing that also came to me was the idea of um the old Greek temples with the columns that used to surround them Right and all the you know where you know where people used to go to worship And I just just had that sort of real sort of You know, it's it's a tater. It's not a tater It's it's a temple to come now and worship at the feet of Liverpool Like it just gives it an empiric feel to the whole club. It's I just take look I'm I'm I'm the light. Well, personally, I'm the light with the design that's out there I wanted to build that'll be fucking trailed just to stand there and I have any tickets to go into the game and look at it Do you think it looks like the entrance to the old cop? I don't know if any of you guys remember that but there's some old images and you can look at I used to kind of walk up to the yeah, obviously other steps to the pillars and I think kind of I don't know if that's what they've done. I'm not a head. That's what they've done better. So that's what it reminded me of Yeah, um Was it was almost like that this is almost like a new cop being built in a sense? Yeah, I looked at like, you know, we've all been looking at the images and all sort of going, oh, yeah, yeah Yeah, but like I just love that sort of real it's a real statement Do you know what I mean? That to me it just gives you that imposing feeling when when any of the fans are coming to visit the ground now Like at the moment the cop and and that end of the ground is is is Liverpool. You know what I mean? Like it's not taken away from the cup. It's adding to the cup It's given it's given you this monumental structure that when you come, you know It's not just the club like this is the club that's huge and it looks like a stadium not an opera house Which I think is the other thing like, you know, if you look at the aliens, I mean, it's beautiful. Some of these stadiums are yeah You know, they don't from the outside. They could be a Frank Gehry, but you know production factor I mean, it's like this looks like a fucking stadium. I'm like serious And they have no surprise that our resident frustrated emperor wants the place to look like a temple, right? No, no for no shock. It's really doesn't surprise anyone in the room Uh lads, thanks a huge statue of shank you massive work I want to with a monkey with a knife on his shoulder Has to be the more good Okay, right. Well, let's leave it at that lads. I hope what we do is we move on to uh part of the show I've been looking forward to hearing what our guests on the line are going to come up with here Uh, we get to inflict the bag of weird on them that is our listeners questions Uh, so brace yourselves fellas and the first up is from a regular contributor, uh, gray and gray asks What's the all-time number one chocolate bar nice easy one to start with john would you think The old time number one chocolate bar. Yes fella It's got to be a yorky. That's a you're a club. You're fucking yorky. Absolutely. Just just perfect high encalities Only only men can have them sort of girls, but um, yeah fucking yorky. See yorky guys. Do you want to do you want to argue with that? No, no, I like yorkies, but my personal favorite is a bit of a softer one than that. Oh, yeah, it's uh, it's a whisper I know I love whisper So I could forget I could fucking eat a truckload of them die and die happy That they are they are the best chocolate bar. I've got I've got a lot here shaking this head and this in this Into a more careful sister. The best chocolate bar of all time is a texan bar and they're no longer made What's the texan? I don't remember that they were made up until 1985 as far as now Right they were in an orange packet and I was texan across the front of it They were made by round tree mac and tush right they brought them back out about four years ago for when they were bringing back the classics It was it's like you know the top of a double decker Yeah, like wrapped in chocolate, but the the nougat was harder in it So pulled out teeth and everything like that for so as a five or all it was an ideal Fucking toot fairy winner because you used to get more money to get more texan bar. So this is It was an ingenious bar, but that is The chocolate was taking everything. Honestly, I only found out after they brought the back out It was gone mad and caught it cost me 20 euro to buy a box on them online And you did didn't you? Yeah, have you finished it? Yeah, good man Dave Thomas no teat left Dave Thomas And excellent is from Owen Owen asks us In the event of appending nuclear attack by those damn rooskeys What would be your final tiple? It's not like you have to drink to get through there You are underneath the nuclear bomb. All right. Okay. That's a little easier. So what would you go for then Dave? Probably a carousel I I need other early guys in the line. I need suggestions there Yeah, I'd go for a kind of abidail absolution. It's a it's a beer Um, it's called absolution. It'd be perfect if you're just about to die It's 10 percent. You couldn't drink it all night. You know four or five. I was And you're gone. Um, it'd be absolutely great. So, uh, yeah absolution for me absolution. You're right there for oh Two beers. I remember from from when we're over lately at the wedding. Um, Judas It's a Belgian beer, which is toward the end percent, right? Oh, that's that was great. And uh, beer in the carabiner Beer in the carabiner. Oh, it was like And that was that I think that's 18 percent. They were just deadly. That's not really beer And they had pirates in the bottle How are you asking if you could name a ponytail 11 Right I want you I want you thinking about this one on the line as well if you could name a ponytail I can give you the goalkeeper. Um, Kiriaka said right center back Kiriaka said right center back And how are you doing left wing man for how are you doing left wing? Harry's in there left wing. Okay. We need a right back. We need some more midfielders. Any other shouts midfielders or ponytails? Or Fernando redondo Ponytail at one stage he did he has been and Roberta bajo Roberta bajo and Francesco tati. Just walk into the sea fucking car. Yeah, boy. I'm off I'm good boy. I'll see you later. Good luck. Enjoy the fucking island I actually probably would turn into that nuclear bomb and just explode if I stuck on a desert island. I was straight I'd probably wipe out the island Do you know the advantage though? You'd be the best footballer on that island If you would have formed an island tea, would you? Yeah, it'd be the stevie g of that. I'd be the ponytail captain. Uh, right. Let's finish off with one from gray and gray says Would you rather receive a naked lap dance from Roy Hudson? Or give a naked lap dance to King Kenny There's a fucked up alternative options for you guys. I'm gonna ask you mate. Which one? What the fuck? Fucking out gray. I know. I know. I know. I know. This is this is what goes on in this man's mind. Right say it again. Okay Okay, okay, you get the picture of twice. Okay, would you rather receive a naked lap dance? from Roy or a given egg in lap dance to King Kenny. I can't even stand looking at him. Roy, so it'll have to be swinging away from the king. Oh god, right, let's let's see. I thought about this, well this is the only question I read or to hold. I was thinking, if you're given a lap dance to Kenny, you'd get the treatment he gave to Venger when he was on the soil line that day, you could see it. I read an article today in The Guardian by Philip O'Claire on Roy Hiveson. It's taken about three years ago and get on it. It's hilarious, right? He was talking about him revolutionism, football, and seriously, he hit all the marks, 26 years of coaching, new shit, all the stories are there. It's a comedic masterpiece, right? There's a picture of him with a face on him that when he's managing Switzerland. I read the article, just had to read that question. It's going to be an egg in lap dance all day long from Roy Hiveson. I'm going to match that face. I'd have to be in agreement. Okay, before it gets any weirdo, let's finish it at that.
