3. Europe’s security in the face of U.S. strategic shifts ft. Steven Blockmans

As the U.S. shifts its strategic focus away from Europe and signals a potential disengagement from NATO, Europe faces increasing security risks. With Russia’s aggression continuing and European defence spending lagging, the question is whether the EU is prepared to defend itself and how leaders should respond to growing transatlantic uncertainty.
Joining host Tom Parker is Steven Blockmans, Associate Senior Research Fellow and an expert in European security and geopolitics. Together, they analyse the consequences of U.S. policy shifts, Europe’s delayed response to Ukraine, and the steps needed to strengthen European defence capabilities.
