I did not care for this episode very much. Well, I can't imagine outside of a couple of things, why you would. Yeah, there's some stuff on the gal side showed out as it does, that's what happens with our wage too, but what are they doing to my champion? What are they doing to my sweet, easy page man? I can't. I don't know, man. I can't with this, but we're going to get into all of that and more, Alex, why don't you tell them what the puns topic is, because you just outright freaking rejected my idea. I did, I did, I did, but I think for the better, because the main attraction tonight was a concert given to us by Joe Hendry, he in whom we all believe, so I decided a concert puns or musical act puns. Your favorite band or singer or songstress that you may have seen in concert, that person or the act of going to concerts, anything in the concert milieu, there you go, there's your puns for now. Live music, live music puns. Yeah, there you go. I liked my idea, but we're not even going to tell you what it is, because Alex already broke my heart with it, but that's like the eighth least heartbreaking thing to happen to like, because this was not, not a strong app, a lot of good in ring, as is often the case, but Alex, this did not feel great or American or bash discuss. Well, we'll start out with this. Hank and Tank, they have something, it needs work, but like, they have something. I just feel like they, it needs to be refined quite a lot, but I like, I like exactly, I like them as the big dopey duo. I think that, I think that wrestling companies need big dopey tag teams that have no chance of her becoming champions. I think you need that, you know what I mean? And they'll be fun every time you see them, they'll be fun. These are the kind of acts that kill at house shows, you know what I mean? But you're never actually, but if you're actually, I think booking them right, they don't actually hold the titles ever, because you know, serious wrestling should prevail in the title division. But they're a lot of fun to watch. I just feel like they were, there were too many jokes squeezed into this opening mission impossible thing, so that the one joke that I loved was when they were like, trying to hack into the system, to get into the building, and Hank was, sorry, Hank was yelling at the wall. Oh no, the firewall. And then Hank said, hey, that's the drywall. And then he turned around and saw all the servers there and said, oh no, the firewall. I was like, that's a good gag. But like, I had to wade through all these other not so great gags to get there. And then there were more bad gags after that. So like, you guys have one humdinger and the rest of them were all kind of meh to me, you know? I'll give them this. It wasn't just a picnic like we've gotten every other time. So I did appreciate that. I disagree with your assertions that they should never be tag team champions. I will say tag teams like this for me, can't be tag champions as transitional champions, or if there's just a side to them, we haven't seen yet. Like they're super fun. If they reverse heavy machinery, it like if they, instead of starting serious, start goofy and then back into something more serious, I was supposed to have a machinery which went the other way around. But that's what deviled mental is for. It was weird because they got pushed very heavily and then they didn't. I know there were injuries in play, but like, remember Hank was showed up in the same outfit every week for like months. And then now we do this. Yeah, I like this one from Fundor Soup, a four door four door soup. How are you there? You talk about the outwinners like that. How dare you read my mind and say exactly who I was thinking of when I was talking about that particular. You it's possible you've called the outrunners, the job is job is to ever job. I mean, there's so much here to be it there. They're way better than what they appeared to be. The time that I actually called them that when they showed up and I was like, who the hell they've they've they've actually been a chance to show a lot more of themselves since then. But yes. So after all that, where they finally flipped the lights on in the fuse box. Yes. Then we get like, Hey, here's what's happening today. We get rock sand walking in. She's making eyes at her championship belt. And then they see, I think we see Tia Hale, we see Tony D and his friends walking in. And then something honestly that I can never forgive them for. And that's why I mean, just based on this alone, this horrible thing they did to me personally, this is a zero out of 10 show. I don't care how good anything else was. They have the audacity, the temerity, the unmitigated goal to show Obafemi rolling up in a big luxury SUV, getting out of the vehicle and then he never showed up again for the rest of the episode. They showed me Obafemi and then did not give me Obafemi making a match for next week at the what is the match? Is the American bash even great if Obafemi does not appear on said American bash? More like Obafemi, you know what I mean? Because he's barely on the show tonight. Look, if I, if there's only two seconds of him looking cool on my television, that's objectively not enough. But it is also better than zero seconds of that. I'm just gonna need. I disagree. I disagree. I would rather him not appear at all. If all you were going to give me is him getting out of a getting out of a vehicle, walking into a building and then never doing anything in the building on camera. Okay, but he's still so cool. He is so cool. But that's the problem is I was teased. It was teased. I was teased so hard. That was working. But but no, because it's not you tease me, but that I must have another taste. So that then I tune in next week to see what Obafemi is doing. We'll follow the message. We might just be hanging on the background and not even actually. I need more Oba in my life. We all this is the only reason I watch on Tuesdays anymore. I could just fake my way through the show. But I watched to hopefully get a glimpse of Oba and they showed me a glimpse and that was all I got. I need more Oba. That is fair. But it was the coolest two seconds I've ever seen in my life. So what are you going to do? It was nice. Okay. So I did kind of like the I felt old school the way that we had like the roulette of promos kind of like those instruments. Like it went from 2D to whoever like that was that was really fun. It reminded me of when they had to accidentally do that at WrestleMania because it was raining and I was watching it. I was like these are the most organic promos we've had at the show in like five years. This is awesome because they were like Kevin Owens. Here's a mic and with no script and he was like I got this. Even Jay McMahon had a good one. So it was kind of like that but planned. But I it just feels very throwback used to be. So I appreciate those. Meet Norma says, sub partners. Let's crank. I pay as much attention to the show as Booker T. What is Oba Femi doing besides not being afraid of the NXT parking lot? Let's not undersell that. Yeah. Yeah. And bad Apple jam tree beard says, honestly, outwinners might be our generations version of Brooklyn brawler and Barry Horowitz. You know what you can do for that? Apple jam tree beard. You can pat yourself on the back. Just like Barry Horowitz. Well played. So we first of three title matches tonight. We got the unholy union, by the way, like if they're not witches anymore, you can give them a different name. Yeah. You can call them the normal Scottish girls. Yeah. That's right. Like, I know only we called in the Scottish witches, but if you I feel like everybody called them the smoothies got it. It's true. It's true. Like, you know what I mean? Like, I would honestly just accept dawn of fire. Oh, it's so good. It's so good. Just do that. But like, the unholy union says they're vampires. You know what I mean? Like, and that's not who they are anymore. It's fine. But, but I liked that they decided to like, hey, we should probably give them victory as champs before we strip them of the titles and put them back up. Yeah, or whoever. And they came down and here's the thing. Watching is going like, it's been so long since I've actually been able to watch these two women be good wrestlers. Because honestly, like, even as champs, they don't have matches. No. And when they and that triple threat where they won, they didn't look that impressive. It just felt like kind of a fluke that they won because, you know, Scotland. And I'm watching this match and I'm going, no, this is, I remember being excited about them going to the main roster because they were really good, especially everyone knows Kaylee Ray is amazing. But as a tag team, they were really good. Sure. And we got, we got fooled into thinking they must be bad because of how they were booked. And we're watching them having this match. I'm going, but these, these women are really great. Why did you book them like, ask for a year and a half and then just decide their tag champs now and then stop booking them at all? So now they have matches and they look really good in this match. Good for them. This was very fun, especially versus the metaphor, my faves. I mean, the answer to your question, why did they book them like crap for a year and a half is because other than Brombreaker, that's all they know how to do with NXT call up. So that's the answer. But I, it was really refreshing. And I think them having a little bit more experience would, was helpful with, with Jakara Jackson and Lash for sure. And just like, I feel like Kaylee Ray, one of her greatest strengths is her versatility. So her working with Lash Legend, I thought was a really nice kind of combo that we got. I am a big proponent of not splitting up tag teams just because they lose titles despite how often that happens on the main roster. If they're going to be so tempted, and if they introduce a mid card women's title to the main roster, a Kaylee Ray mid card solo run is like screaming at me. And I know there's a lot of other women up there that that could be contenders for that. But like, if you're in the business of trying to make new stars seems like they're on their way with Tiffany Stratton, would argue that they've completely booted this with Liv Morgan. Like, this should have been a career defining reign for her. And instead, it's about Dominic Mysterio. Like, have Kaylee Ray being a serious, no nonsense mid card title holder that flows between both brands. And like, after Rhea is done with these three women in this incredible faction. Yes, I would like to see Shayna Baszler versus Kaylee Ray. Like, do that for me. But yeah, this match was a lot of fun. I think it was the right thing to have open the show too, because it had stakes, it had main roster, people like coming down. But I feel like that outcome was pretty inevitable here. It would just be nice if we had women's tag divisions on any of the three brands that we went under WWE. Yeah. So Tim McFowl says, thank you all for last night on the, we had a little shout out. A few moments to Tim on the on the on the paywall show last night. And as for tonight, the ladies showed out opener and Maine were excellent, the ego, oral stuff, not so much. And Booker needs to go away. So, yeah. We just say we have to reek it. I hate like beating the drum, but he's terrible at this. Like he, and it's a complete lack of effort on his part too. Like he just, he doesn't watch the show every week. Yes. Earlier, we had Luis Plito, our wonderful mod who said that wrestling is for everyone in response to something we're not even going to give breath or time to. But the harvestarian says, I'm a gay old nine binary boy. And when I kiss the living hell out of my boyfriend tomorrow, I'll remember that comment sourness wins. Sourness always wins first of all. It's best match we've seen her do in last legend has continued to improve and improve and improve. I think there could easily be future women's tag team champions down the road. They had a very good match here. They lost. And then we had Oromenza, you know, who was out there getting the ring and, you know, kind of like say, it's okay. You guys get pretty good. And then Ethan Page comes out and you can Page says, I'll look at that the metaphor coming up short. It's like they're going to do next week. I hope you guys return the favor and console Oro after he loses to me. And then he gets in the ring and tries to hit this is the closest the closest you're ever going to come to my title. And he just tries to hit him in the forehead with it, but Oro ducks and then rolls him up. And then Lash and Jakarta Jackson count one, two, three. And the crowd got chance one, two, three. And this is the worst booking in the history of champions of any wrestling ever. Well, I don't know about I don't even know what's the worst booking at an exchange champion to be honest, but it's considering the feeling of the fanfare of Ethan Page coming in. And he gets immediately gets a title match, gets his finisher kicked out of and loses clean, then becomes a champion a month later while unconscious. And now is locked in a feud with a guy who keeps rolling him up when it's not really a match. And people count one, two, three. And like that's and it's slowly driving and mad. Like Ethan Page is doing everything he can to make this watchable. It's not his fault. He's he's really good at this. Imagine if they gave him good material to work with. I came to ego. I sort of do like pointed out that they're the missing him. So I could think about for this part of the segment. I hate I hate this. I hate this before you try and explain to me it's not that I don't get it. I just hate this. Yeah, like there's a thing. It's not lost on me that my favorite promotion more often than not is new Japan pro wrestling. And I understand that both TNA and NXT are pretty much at the opposite end of the spectrum as far as like what that offers, right? But I love all wrestling and I adjust my expectations accordingly. So when it's still this bad, it's so maddening to me because I feel like I've already made adjustments on what my expectations are. And then on top of that bit out of taste. And then to see this kind of stuff is just bad. Like this is just to go from a title room with trick Williams where he defended once on a house show and then be eat the page once. That was what you're doing with like the most over guy in your promotion. Yeah, because you brought an Ethan page, you cut that title range short because a big deal. He has so much experience and voice is great at every aspect of this. So of course, strap that guy up, make it feel like a big deal coming in. To then make him look like a freaking goofball is stupid. If you wanted him to look like a goofball and not a real champion, you could have had him do a bunch of other stuff outside the title picture. It it's just so frustrating when you see what this guy is capable of because you see him trying to make this work and you've seen his other work and that this is what we're getting out of this. Why is he even coming out after this match? Because because Oromenta is so under his skin, I don't buy that. Ethan Page is smarter than that. Yeah. Ethan Page doesn't give a crap that like no, the car jackson and lash legend lost. Like he needs to come out here and insert himself into the picture is just because when when when you go, oh, you're all ego. So who's a who's a very egotistical heel? Oh, the Miz, let's book him like the Miz. Like, you know what I mean? Like, that's the thing you're all ego. Well, in our brains, the only thing we can think to do with that is somebody who is unjustifiably arrogant, meaning not good at this, but thinks he is. And that's how we'll book you. Like, that's that's the only thing I can think of that the people who are booking him never watched single one of his matches don't know how good he can be have never seen him promo. Don't know that he's got so many layers to him. He may be not be leady and blonde, but he is an onion. He's he's an onion with all the layers. And they're not doing they're just doing the surface stuff. All the the skin, not even the not even the edible onion. They're peeling the skin off the onion that you get from the and that's all we got. Come on. It's not even the good onions either. It's just like the boring white ones. Well, I'm pretty sure it's before a trip to Saudi that they're doing it. I'm trying to think what sure is just been going on the last few weeks. Mako? Mako's one that was let's just say a long time coming from even for people in NXT. I spoke to I think I said it on on the show a couple of times that there wasn't really an expectation that she'd be back and low and behold. She's retiring next year, which is a shame, but she's going to go out the way she wants. And I think that's the best part about it, really. I obviously had to leave and come back because I just heard Sean talking about the same active ingredients as Viagra and my ear over and over again on Luke, but very happy Corey is not choosing to be a coward this time and just stopping by the show. If I missed that you covered this already by apologies, but someone that I'm a huge fan of that you confirmed. Did you talk about Delta yet? I skimmed it. I kind of just went through like a quick thing. But yeah, the Delta sign is one that's kind of been like an open secret. I think Kate, me and you have like talked about this a couple of times where we've kind of been like everyone saying that she's gone to be, but no one could confirm it and so on. Eventually, someone did confirm it to me. A couple of people did confirm it to me. She did impress a big time at the chamber tryouts and then in the weeks following day subsequently offered her contract. She accepted, but a lot of people were confused as to why she and Julia could complete their dates, but Stephanie couldn't. It was very much a case of a by person by person. Like it was Julia and Delta bought wanted to finish off their dates. They wanted to say goodbye to Japan and Australia, respectively. Stephanie achieved her dreams. She wanted to start with WWE as quickly as possible. And that's just the difference. That's really all the difference that there is in this scenario. I had that question asked me a bunch, but Delta was supposed to move to the US this week. Obviously with there being so much problem with all the crowd strike stuff and flights and all that, that isn't something I've been able to confirm for sure. But I imagine we'll see her, Stephanie and Julia, all within the month of August at some point or another. I think they're about to have a big shot in the arm onto the programming. And an interesting note that both me and Sean were both told back at the draft was that NXT would have enough star power going into the CW, and that wouldn't be a concern. And I think they've done a great job of doing that. They went from having nearly been picked bare of all their stars to creating all these new stars, these top stars on the brand, bringing in TNA stars, signing all these new stars. So I think that's really interesting as well. >> Yeah, a couple of other things, not reports, but just deductive reasoning tells you a few things. Also one that step backer probably got moved along quite a bit because those WWE tapings in Mexico were underway almost immediately after. And also Mexico, a little bit easier of a flight, I would say, than Australia for sure, and Japan as well. So just an ease of logistics, I'm sure, and also just wanting to get Seth's prizes on those Mexico shows, I'm sure, played into it a little bit. But if you're not familiar with Delta, you have a lot to look forward to. If you're not familiar with any of these ladies, you have a lot to look forward to. I am intrigued to see how they try and fold this into this rookies versus veteran storyline, because I think that's going to continue. And now we have three new stars coming in here, but them jumping into title pictures, I think, might make more sense than anything. But some good stuff there. We have some continued TNA crossover. We have continued independence crossover with Bloodsport. We saw Charlie Dempsey. We saw the Creed Brothers there. Anything that you have had your ear to the ground on either, I don't think we have anything confirmed, but have you heard any whispers about the continuation with TNA or any of the crossover with GCW being something that continues? Seems like Bloodsport is just kind of a fun home for people every so often that it happens. I try not to talk about all this widely praised stuff going for recently, because a lot of people had problems with that. But Charlie Dempsey, in particular, has gotten so much praise from over the course of the last year of me doing this. I've just constant praise for him for being able to... He's going to all these different promotions. He's gone to AJPW. He's gone to TNA. He's doing Bloodsport repeatedly. He's constantly getting praised for professionalism, for his ability to adapt to all these different styles. And every time I ask, it's like, well, we're not really seeing that kind of transition on screen. He's not quite a serious actor, as people would probably like to see him as. But I've been told time and time again, it's only a matter of time for everyone in NXT as a fan of his. But it's funny that you do mention that stuff, because I did want to mention a no-quarter catchroom thing. A couple of people have asked me since Gulak and Damon Kemper released Worcester plans to maybe break the stable up, maybe stuff like that. No, that's never been considered. Rens Sinclair was apparently supposed to be joining the stable for a couple of a while now. She was planning to join. We've seen that, and she's been awesome in that role. But more with the crossovers. I've just heard that everyone in NXT is happy to have these TNA stars in. It's the same in TNA from what I've heard Sean, it'd be better to talk about the TNA side of things. But in terms of NXT, it's like, it's still the same, but still a hope to see other people like Josh Alexander, some of the names that keep popping up, who haven't showed up yet, who people want to see crossover. And there's been some talk of more nowhere crossover over with NXT as well as the N1 with Josh breaks and TV and heights. There could be more NXT crossover there coming down the line, not sure. I've just heard some whispers. But other than that, it's just an ongoing thing. A lot of people have been asking me is Marigold in Marigold's Grand Prix. There's one mystery participant from another company. I've been trying to find out if that's NXT. I haven't heard anything yet, but if I do, you guys, as I've ever been first now, on $5, select $5, best $5 in the business, as always. A nice swap. >> I really enjoyed the dueling, roving reporters with them wearing terrible jackets over no shirt, interviewing both Taveon Heights and Tony D. Tony D, he's great. He's always been great at this. He's so natural with all his stuff. Here's my question. Where have they been hiding Taveon Heights? Because we already knew he was this, hey, they talk about it. He's a former Olympian. He was in the Olympics just four years ago. We know what he can do in the ring, because if you watched him any time that he's done anything in the ring, you go, "Wow, that's great." He must not be able to talk, you say to yourself, "That must be why he's not on TV more." Because he was in the breakout tournament really impressed and that was off TV for months. And finally, he has a thing where now he's part of the no-quarter catch crew. So I thought to myself, "Oh, they're putting him with a faction because he probably can't talk yet." And they're trying to figure out a way to ease him into it. He gets interviewed by, I think it was Hank, and he's natural. He's got a really good cadence. He's not stumbling over any of his words. He seems like a real person. And I unfathomable to me that this guy apparently is the full package. And he's just been off. Well, maybe he wasn't. You know what I mean? I suppose that this is the first promo he's ever cut good in his life and it just happened to be on TV. What a miracle. I said and I say, "Bye." They earned my trust with OpenFEMI because we were like, "What happened to that guy who was shot by uncouches? He ruled." And then he came back and he has been the complete package and he has followed through on all those things. So I just don't know. I don't know if they wasted their time and he's always had this because he feels natural. But sometimes you need a bunch of reps to do a bunch of work-off screen until you are the complete package. Maybe they've learned that like, "Let's get these guys ready and then put them on TV." Because he really did feel comfortable, but this is also, this is a very specific type of promo. Maybe his in-ring ones suck, or maybe they did suck and they need to do work on them. So we'll see. Let's talk about this Tony Angelo on TV on Heights. We'll go back to the Pete Dunvignette. I don't want to break it up. Tony Angelo on TV on Heights is great. Tony D'Angelo both amazing grapplers. I loved seeing them chuck each other over the ring. He was amazing. I really thought this was a great exhibition of what TV on Heights can do and Tony D'Angelo getting to be excellent at this. I even liked Renson Claire showing up in the stance and doing this thing and then jumping the barricade to run in after TV on got pinned and get them all fired up. Then he ran in and actually pinned Tony D right after that. But then they were arguing about whether or not Renson Claire was allowed to do that and because of that TV on Lost. Luis, can you pay some extra attention to the chat right now? Sorry, there's some stuff going wild. Some good. Yeah, we got twitch rated. We got twitch rated, but then there were also people being awful. So just if you could keep an eye on that kind of stuff. Yeah, I liked this a lot. I feel like there is such a breath of fresh air for me. Even when they're not my favorite matches, just the idea that these matches have something different to them is such a breath of fresh air for me of like there's different rules. It's something to break up the rest of the programming. The rest of the programming is wacky as hell. So the idea that there's just something with the specialty around it, much like pure rules in our age, I really, really like this was still kind of used for shenanigans, but they were better shenanigans. Like they made sense. They're pushing things along. So I don't mind that. But I appreciate what we're getting out of this Tony D heritage cup run because I think it's been very, very productive. And I like that TV on heights got a chance to show what he could do here. He was always impressed with the ring. So it was a little bit goofy, but on the spectrum of goofy things on NXT, this was like the lowest. Yeah. Yeah. I also love Tony being this ultimate tweener. But you know, he's a he's probably actually a bad dude, but not a T though, but a bad dude. But him saying like that TV on heights, you know, he's a real he's a legit guy, you know, he's Olympian. But I don't do my work every four years. I do it every day. I love that. That was great. This is this is what like honestly, I feel like Tony should be a much bigger part of the show. He's been around for since the beginning. He's proved he could do everything. But every time they let him go in the ring or with a microphone near him, he kills it. Yeah. So I just feel like if he's batting a thousand, figure out a way to get him up to bat more often if you can. Like, I don't know if you got to like sneak him into the sitting in the seven hole with a mustache. You know what I mean? Like, get him up to bat as often as possible. That's my own thing. You know what I mean? Bobby Valentine him if you have to. I nice reference. I think for me, the obstacle seems like it is still, though I think he does a very good job at grounding it. It's still kind of a wacky gimmick. And I feel like them putting that toward a higher card title might not be the best, but he's also shouldn't be like a complete goofball or whatever. So I kind of like the heritage cup for him, but I do think him defending it more would be better. So I'm with you there because it's really nice to have the fact that he can beat the hell out of people in the ring offset some of the the silliness that comes with him. So I know they're your favorite thing about NXT. But we could have easily dispatched with the oral mensa stuff. I don't know five weeks ago. And and then Ethan Page could be have if we're gonna if you're gonna keep trick Williams artificially away from a feud with with Ethan Page for a month, Ethan Page versus Tony DiAngelo please. You know what I mean? Like, like he should be nearer the top of the card. Like, I love the stuff he's doing with a heritage cup, but like it allows him to like have 45 seconds of TV a week if he's not wrestling. And I would like that I would like that number to be up. That's all. I would like him to defend it more. But I also think that he yes, I'm a metaphor stand account, but that doesn't mean the usage of them has been all that great. I just love them so much. So so I'm with you there. And we don't really have we don't have like intermittent things going on for Ethan Page. He just keeps getting rolled up by or mensa. So sometimes it's good to have, especially with your world champion, like the overarching story of what's going on with our mensa with these intermittent defenses in between like we had was last week or the week before, like keep that going so that Ethan Page gets four or five title defenses under his belt. So we don't end up in another situation like we did with trick. Yeah. But instead he gets rolled up when he's not in matches, which makes no sense. Also, like a shock bringing this up. He says, give the heritage cup to Jonathan Gresham. Well, that does seem like the kind of thing right right up his alley. And if you are doing a TNA crossover, like just imagine Tony D being like, that's like work. Who else she got for me. And it becomes a dude wearing the octopus mask. And like, Luca just runs away because he's just so afraid. That would rule. That would be like just Jonathan Gresham showing up would be the most amazing thing that would be insane. That would be great. I think he was injured a bit, but I think he's back. But I can't really speak to the TNA product because I cover our lives. Okay. This Pete Dunvin yet is fantastic. And it's so good. It would be fantastic even without the little like got cold up to the main roster. And immediately I was saddled with a terrible nickname. I was like, yeah, admit it. That is a tacit admission that it was a terrible thing, terrible idea. Everyone emits it. I think there are certain things that they're doing that are poking fun at that era of like Chelsea Green waiting outside of Dick Aldis's office feels like it's very referental to the fact that she's to literally do that. This is also really good, especially because Pete Dunvin was out there and interviews being like, it's not that bad. We know. We don't be done. We know it was terrible. So I'm glad he got to be vindicated. Yes. I was blown away by this. I love that he was like, I got part of like got to be a hanger on on the Seamus show. Yeah, that was really good stuff. And then Seamus went home. And this is the only part. The only part about it I don't love is and then Ridge ran away when it when it started to get tough. And I was like, he's right over there. He's literally right over there. He's a college student now and a t-shirt designer. He's really bad at both things. You should go beat him up. I don't know why he's like, like, yes, Rich Holland did run away. And he never resolved that. And you're now in NXT targeting a different person. Like, there's, I understand their delusional heels and they don't like, but like somebody should recognize that like just straight up telling lies is, is, is not fun for, for us to be lied to and gaslit even by people who are, I don't know, it's just, it's just, it's a weird thing to me. Also like, I was, I was really happy that Solruka, they didn't show this on TV, which means that they don't actually, um, they don't want us to know that, but Solruka says, Tiff, uh, uh, Fallon, if memory serves, didn't you and I get to NXT at the exact same time? All right, thanks a lot, rookie. Yeah, like that was the best part of any of these little vignettes on the little, uh, videos that people shot for themselves on social media was Solruka calling out the ridiculous PS of the storyline. And they were like, actually, so we really like that it's a rookies versus veterans thing. And yeah, you're totally right, but we can't mention it on TV. Well, they did mention that about Jasmine Dix. So they're, they're okay with breaking that. I think what they need is a three hour pre-show to break and bash and then we would have seen such content. It is very true. Um, Hey, Cedric Alexander got a victory for the first time. I think that I have seen since 2020. I mean, I don't know, but like, when did the, when did the hurt business break up? Because he had a match versus Shelton Benjamin and won it with like a, a cheeky little roll up and then Shelton Benjamin, they never had a rematch. And after they broke up, that was it. I don't believe I've seen Shelton, considering Alexander on television, win a match in maybe three and a half years. It certainly wasn't a memorable one, if it was the case, like it would be one where he accidentally won because the loss developed some other story or something. Is first televised win since 2021? Gross. Okay. Cedric Alexander is a really damn good wrestler. If you doubt that and you have Peacock fire up any of his title defenses when he was Cruiserweight champion, like, for a while, they were actually doing Cruiserweight title defenses on the pay-per-views. Fire up any of those. Here you go. It was so good. It was when they got back together for 10 minutes. Got back to the end of a JK. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. I forget how good he is because he's usually in a squash match on the wrong side of one. Sure. And he's very good. And I honestly thought that like the beach gave him a good match. It was a fun little back and forth. And the only reason that honestly that that beach loss is because he tried to do a Rob Van Dam spinning elbow top to the table and broke his own damn leg. Like he didn't actually, I hope, but it looked horrible. And I mean, like, I the lumbar check continues to be one of the coolest finishers. So cool. I mean, I'm I'm just a I'm a big Cedric Alexander fan. I'm really glad that his time in NXT is not going to be purely putting over the young talent. No, I think he's gonna get a real deal run. It feels like I'm really hope I'm really happy for it. Like, yeah, much better this week than last week too. Just felt like he just needed to shake off some rust and get a rep under his his belt. But yeah, him and Brooks Jensen had a good little go here. Shout out to the Jimmy Raven shirt too. I like a lot of the the off-screen references we're getting from our dear beach. But they had good chemistry and this was a good clash in styles kind of thing. I just don't know what to do with what is the story with Brooks Jensen now? You know what I mean? He is he disappointed his mentor who is trying to mold him into a crazy person that he can control in this law. Much like you and me. Right, exactly. No, it's that's that's that's that's been our story for the beginning. This is long-term storytelling, Kate. You arrived here at Fightful, bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and you were always trying to find the good and things. And look what I've turned you into. That is categorically untrue because I I watched before. I watched before I joined you. But I think it's really nice that the beach felt inspired by our dynamic that he tried to try to make this happen. It is good. Anyway, I thought this was this was fine. I will see what more what they do with beach, but I did like spears being out there watching and feeling like obviously the disappointed and and beach taking the loss very hard. So I'm excited to see what they do with this. Yeah, Sean Spears was so good in the four way that we got at Heatwave. Yeah. And he did some good promo work going into it. He's a lot like a hovering chair pervert though. They need to change that about him. Like he's got to recruit and different. I would like it if he recruited in different ways other than being around like switch up the playbook a little bit and the presentation on that because he should be scouting talent. But like he's that guy when you're just trying to write a fucking check and there's a guy over your shoulder like he is that but he's got to steal turns hands like that all time. But I think it would help the act of like what you're trying you're just trying to write a check and there's a guy you're like if you're at a bank and you're writing a check and there's a guy behind a line or whatever and there's I thought you were like paying for your groceries with a check like it was 1987. But the the Javan Evans vignette was really great and good vineyards tonight overall really great vignette about him and his story and like the first time he ever this is a really really effective vignette. With him talking about the first time he ever like found solace and wrestling was that his mom and dad would fight all the time but as soon as wrestling came on all the screaming would stop all the arguing would stop and everyone would get around or watch wrestling and that's like that's really heartwarming. His mom was a Cina fan and his dad was a Booker T fan right away his dad honestly questionable. But she was an awesome wrestler. I mean if he was like you know what Ian Riccabani my go to announce their Booker T my go to announce. Yeah there you go. That's how I have questions. But but but he was stuck told a story about sneaking into a neighbor's yard and and when they went to work and playing on their big trampoline when they got home they run away. He says can I get in trouble for saying this no okay I used to tell my teachers to suck it. It was so it was really heartwarming. Also for me a couple things so first and foremost the vignette itself because I haven't been fully in on like bouncy yeah because he's so much more than bouncy like this guy is a lot of things that I don't like slogans that reduce you to one thing. But like hearing the thing about the trampoline I'm like oh that like I'll think of it differently now when I hear because they gave us this insight right. The other thing is with NXT sometimes I feel like I'm watching an episode of the West Wing directed by Tommy Schlamy and then other times I feel like I'm watching Sesame Street. The vignettes we got tonight from like Pete Donne in this feel so fresh and modern and impactful and well done and then we get some of the dumbest shit ever. I don't it feels like an after-school special we say it all the time I can't reconcile the fact that these are the same television show it's so bizarre. And so like that's that's a thing also here's the thing for me I'm watching this vignette and going this is an amazing vignette and then going they're not going to build on this. What's what's your plan for Javan Evans? What what what seems like it could be the plan for Javan Evans right now like I want it should be it should be but like have an interview with with Javan Evans tonight after that vignette plays we want I want my Oba well you're also um you're right to be skeptical of the Javan Evans stuff yeah but what's funny is it's almost like him not having a title makes it better because they can't look at it so the fact that he has no gold is actually like a better sign yeah um the rascals is the is the tree house of thing I'm supposed to know what that is anyway they were all sitting around the circle uh making thinly veiled weed references and then they decide that they want to go after the blurry boys NXT titles so they can defend them both NXT and TNA and so uh later we see that that contract is being made and uh Robert Stone and Stevie Turner bring the contract to the blurry boys um and uh Axiom signs it without even really looking at it as he's talking to L.W.O. in Spanish and Nathan Frazier is doing the thing there I mean listen it's it's a it's a it's it's fine I I get it I want to see where it goes from here um but like um Axiom being pissed at Nathan Frazier for not taking things seriously and then uh Nathan Frazier now being pissed for Axiom for the exact same thing later it is a role reversal deal which can be fun and then we'll see like what comes of it but like I honestly I really enjoyed it I did too and this is I feel like I mean we're gonna talk about what they did with Joe Hendry or didn't do with Joe Hendry in a minute but like these partnerships are much be edges bitch one about Cardona there's a lot of really really good ones out here but I was kind of bummed I was kind of bummed but the Dutch line did pop me but that was kind of it and it wasn't they hit him with a with a um with a guitar you know tribute to the greatest baby face in AEW right now Jeff Jarrett um and uh and then like they uh so then there's that and then they ask joe henry about that later and he's the challenges joe gallis to a um to match next week like I'm I'm glad they're doing that with joe henry they're doing that but you could have usually done that with trick and p and they didn't do that but okay I would have like if they're it if you establish a partnership with tna and you're like I have access to jordan grace joe henry and the rascals or whoever there's especially with what he did for social in the ratings like there's no excuse for bringing him in this piss poor like the the battle royal stuff was really bad and didn't pay off at all yeah it didn't at all like I really thought we were going to get a sexy boy parody like I thought this was going to be a him v shawn michaels thing until shawn michaels was like you know what you're funny myles born who you remember was suplexed by uh kendall gray last week correct two weeks ago I don't know he walks down during the during the match and gets in the face of carly bright who's out there supporting her friend kendall gray hey now this is a thing I am saying a thing I was told to come out here and make vociferous gestures and meanwhile rinsing Claire is there saying miles please come back to the thing it's really nonsensical for you to be out here right now we could easily handle this backstage I don't know why we're doing this now and then kendall gray gets out of her match to come and suplex miles born again um and I've just I've never understood why wrestlers decide to take this particular time to handle a thing that's not at all related um like it's not like he came down to attack kendall gray he came down to ask kendall gray's friend a question but with lots of gestures well there's only like 47 people backstage that they can talk to about issues they have with other talents so um yeah that's a dumb wrestling trope but it exists um kendall gray can hoop though we love that sure can she's like throwing outside of suplexes and germans and belly of the bellies it was great and then she got hit in the ear with a butt she it's unfortunate but she did get hit in the ear with butt she got hit in the ear with a butt as as is prone to happen when you're in the ring with jade parker it is it is the way most of those matches end it is and that's a that's a shame uh give me her versus ivy nile please you're doing nothing with ivy dial on the main roster we don't even know if she's with the creed brothers anymore yeah I think she's running from that god awful theme but uh let ivy and kendall gray do a thing whether or like put her in the no quarter catch crew and she's fighting with rince and claire for that spot um the the running butt does look better now because she's hitting the ropes like three times where she hits it yeah it that does have more speed that she was just running at her it honestly it was just like oops my butt but now it like actually looks like it might hurt i just wish it was a running knee lift i still wish it was a running knee really like watching paperwork get done on my wrestling shows but i do appreciate either references that contracts have been signed or stuff like this where it doesn't need to be a drawn out presentation at the right like this was this was a better done thing yes for sure um but they do the contract signing an ethan page which is or mensa uh i think a lot of people are assuming no m dar comes back next week that would be neat i just don't know his injury status like i genuinely i don't i don't know but like it it feels like maybe they were putting off this match until noam was almost cleared so that you could pivot immediately into noam dar versus versus uh ethan page and then i would say so what are we doing with trick williams how long is this field with pete done gonna last like again i mean i i i you weren't it's not like you were booking his his reign like gangbusters but you took it off of him and he's not he's he there is a pattern of of him losing a title in me and like yeah well whatever and it's not it's not a great thing to do with a guy you know what i mean this thing i worked my whole life for yeah you win so if you lose some yeah it really it's been like three weeks so it's it's on me like i need to get over it but him being like i know the title doesn't define the maid just like kind of ruined him for me honestly because it's it's such a stupid line um but what's what's even crazier with trick is that was a four pack and he's not feuding with two of the other guys in the four pack guys right no no like it's not like he didn't immediately go back for the title because one of these other two guys cost him and he needs to feel with him he's like he's like he's done not that i would honestly like really buy it but i could see him blaming Sean Spears for him losing 100 because Sean Spears was pulling him back and in him being like i never would have lost him it wasn't for you yeah and Sean Spears being like okay fine well let's fight about it and like getting at least that would make sense but it's honestly it's not even like Pete it's just Pete done arbitrarily attacking a guy he has no history with again the Pete Dunne and trick Williams match when we eventually get to it i'm sure will be wonderful but however like the it just feels like you just you just dropped in Pete Dunne for for no reason i'm okay with arbitrary Pete Dunne but you can't do nothing yeah you can't do you can't do nothing from trick side to explain why he's not going after the title or involved with anybody in the match where he lost his championship after defending it twice once at a house show like he should at least be feuding with the other guys that were in that match and Sean Spears should be fighting him that's a perfectly suitable thing yeah um yeah Sean Spears can take that L doesn't matter yeah I mean not again i don't even know how you would book this in a way that that was beneficial to both parties but i could easily see Oba like talking down to trick Williams and and starting that as a thing you know what i mean if that could be a pro a pro long thing you know where the first match ends it ends in a double count out or whatever like it could be it just again Pete Dunne versus thing will be fun but it just feels like it just came out of nowhere because you have no other ideas for what to do with trick Williams now it feels too early for Oba to have like a fuck finish but if you if you had trick either lose and be like i can't get a finger on gold to save my life or somebody cost him yeah he just lose Sean Spears cost him that match too and he's like man you are fucking always in my way when it comes to me and having my titles yeah i'm i'm i'm you got to give him something to do and so they've done that would be done but anytime a guy lose sometimes you do a thing where a guy loses the title and he doesn't go immediately go after the title the guy that's the title because he's got something else that is that takes precedent sure currently and i just don't feel like they've done enough to make Pete Dunne that for him yeah yet they have not and again if you're in a fatal four-way it should probably be one of the other two guys that was in that match especially since he's had this friendship with Javan like to play with that yeah um jc jane jasmine nix um fell in henley defeated lola by solruca and carren petrovich who had the upper hand for most of the match but then lost because rookies i guess yeah i think that it was supposed to have gotten out smarted here i guess yeah by by uh by by jc jane who i guess you know technically a veteran villain henley who is as much of a veteran as the most veteran part of their team and also jasmine nix who's been here the shortest amount of time wait less time than solruca okay i don't know um this was fine i liked the the the triple uh running button to the corner a lot of running butts a lot a lot of running butts today yeah a lot of running butts um this is not over no of course it's not because all fallin and and jacie and jacie and jazzy have been doing is losing and they got one match where they won and now i guess they'll say that they you know need to have a you know another shot at something i guess i'm wondering if like core jade or nakeet alliance comes back yeah and then there's another rookie that maybe kennel grey jumps into that or what i you know what i mean like that that there's uh it becomes a four on four instead i was this was a rough episode so it might have just been the frame of vida i was it at the time but it felt like everybody other than solruca was just doing moves and solruca felt like the only one who was in there like working your ass off to tell a story um but the rest of it just seemed like moves were being executed cyclo has a wonderful question why can't jacie and fallin just chartered karly and kennel who were actual rookies that would be so simple and direct and then yeah anyway so anyway yeah veterans one another thing that happened was that um we got a setup for uh tatum versus calani next week yes with uh wendy chu being a creepy in the background so just here's hoping for wendy chu to put her thumb on the scales next week and we uh move out of this chilani thing uh and you do more to get her a real personality and and story and something so that she is a character and not a woman who does really good moves who is the champion um i i would love to see that and then once you've done that you can they can circle back around to title contention because it just it just feels like she feels like a cipher to me just to yeah tainer yeah wendy chu yeah this girl's are freaking me the out alice they're great they're so good they're so creepy i love this doll thing coming to him and try try us and then then they just walk out all three of them and they just destroy them and then they all look at each other and walk off separately we're not together we just asserted ourselves that we it'll be the three of us coming after us i think i think that would be really good that would be really cool uh jc jd is starting to feel i want to say this because it's not reflective of her abilities as a wrestler she's feeling like a little bit pathetic with the amount of losses she's taken they really really need to get her some more meaningful wins tonight was a start but uh this right here is how you make make them feel extremely intimidating it's it's called um tater chu so tater chu yep that's very good um rocks and for rest versus thia hail um the thea hail backstage little thing with with ridge it always feels creepy i'm sorry it just does um and uh then there is this really weird moment who's like you need to do whatever you whatever you have to to become the champion you must do whatever it takes it's like yeah whatever it takes whatever it takes and then honor is like whatever it takes like yes whatever it takes and i was like oh okay so she's gonna blatantly cheat at the direction of ridge and andra chase won't like it no no no that actually happened no i mean it was it was a good match and really good match the only part of it that was rock sand being underhanded was like a thumb to the eye which happens in every match so like it wasn't like there was a a serious cheating going on by rock sand but it was really really good i love her trying to get her to tap out in the the cross face growing back into the ring and being like you know what screw this i'm just gonna knock you out and hit her with a pop rocks i thought that was that was excellent this thea hail is improved tremendously i think the gimmick sucks i've always thought the gimmick sucks i i think that she is really really good in the ring and that all of everything else around serves to belie that fact so we forget when she gets in there with somebody who's this good and we're like oh it's not just let me fart around for five minutes and apply a komura no no you're really you're really good but the character isn't allowed to be really authentically good because you have to be this crazy girl and that's i feel like you need to just get rid of all that crap and just be a really great wrestler i'm sorry that like that's what i want out of my wrestling is for all wrestlers to be the best wrestler they could possibly be oh careful next thing next thing you know you're gonna be advocating that there's more wrestling on your television program but like 12 minutes and the world will come after you um this was a really really good showing for her i loved that ending spot two of the the Fujiwara armbar into the stf and Roxanne getting continually pissed her at the match i thought was good i felt like it could have used and it was it was a really great match and i felt like it should have been invented it was probably the strongest thing on the show so all of those things being acknowledged uh it could have used more story on thea hail side like it it could have used that what you said with rachelen coming into play a little bit it could have used and i don't want a ton of interference but thea hail being forced to make certain decisions about what length she's willing to go to to try and win the title is something that didn't really come across here that probably should have probably should have so that's frustrating uh chase you i know you hate it it's certainly not my favorite but we are certainly at a part point where the the sum of the parts is greater than the whole which is to me the test of is a faction successful is is the whole greater than the sum of the parts because otherwise what are you doing these people could just go off and be whatever so when i look at i mean obviously the bloodline right like for sure that didn't wonders for everybody involved still is um when i look at my favorites in cmdk they are better as a faction um i feel like do cotton would be better off as a single star i think thea hail would be better off as a single star so i i don't feel that the the sum is greater than the the whole of the parts um the parts are are better and that is symptomatic of either bad creative or unsupportive creative and i feel like we have both but really really really strong showing from thea hail she can go she can go she's grown a lot i just would have liked to see more of the story coming to play from thea hails perspective and and not outside interference bullshit right um i don't know it's just it's a simple fix to me you just have chase you andrey chase um close up close down the university figure i thought that's what i thought they were going to do when they were under investigation they're finally going to close it down and then he just opens a wrestling school and like that that makes sense to me but like you as a fake performer break fake professor of a fake wrestling college like but not like the history of wrestling not like how to do wrestling but the history of wrestling but like not really but your entire classroom is in a room that has curtains for walls and there you have some students but they don't actually are actually there all the
