AP News. Good morning. I'm Ed Donahue. Polls are open in 16 states and one territory. It's Super Tuesday. Shaping up to be a big day for President Biden and former President Donald Trump. In North Carolina, Michael Rowe voted for President Biden. He is concerned about the president's age. But he seems healthy and you know, the alternatives. I don't think it's, you know, four years older than Trump, who's sounding like he's having a lot of issues with himself and his speeches and things. Donald Trump has competition from Nikki Haley on the Republican side. In Clarksville, Tennessee, Joseph Hudson voted for the former president. Trump is a very coarse individual, but at least he knows how to run the country. Voters in California will choose candidates who will compete to fill the Senate seat, long held by Dianne Feinstein. A single-engine plane attempting an emergency landing crashed near a highway in Nashville. All five people on board were killed. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken says there's an opportunity for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. And it is on a must to make decisions about whether it is prepared to engage in that ceasefire. Talks ended without a breakthrough. Ukraine claims it sunk another Russian warship in the Black Sea using high-tech sea drones. Russian authorities did not confirm the claim. It would be a significant blow to Russia. Jury selection starts today near Detroit for James Crumley. His son Ethan shot and killed four students at Oxford High School in 2021. James Crumley bought a gun with his son four days before the shooting. He's charged with involuntary manslaughter. The shooter's mother, Jennifer Crumley, was convicted of the same involuntary manslaughter charge a month ago. Watching a Tesla's electric vehicle plant in Germany came to a halt, workers were evacuated after a power outage. Officials suspect it was caused by arson. This is AP News. The S&P 500 was 6/10 of a percent lower early Tuesday. The Dow fell 157 points. That's about 4/10 percent. The NASDAQ composite was 1 in 3/10 percent lower. Apple weighed on the market with a drop of 2 in 7/10 percent. The company has been struggling on worries about sluggish iPhone sales in China. Bitcoin briefly rose above $69,000 surpassing its records set in 2021. Bitcoin has been surging in recent months after new exchange traded funds made it easier to buy. Target rose 11 in 6/10 percent. The company reported a bigger jump in profit for late last year. Then analysts had expected. Treasury yields fell in the bond market. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note dropped to 4.13 percent.
