Prologue
My father died from a sudden and massive heart attack in 1989 when he was only 46 years old. He never walked in the front door again after waking up that day. I remember that night, my mother crying alone in the bed and having to go on comforting her, just as I started my adulthood. Months later I remember sitting there and it dawned on me that my father would never be there to guide my life from all the ups and downs. It made me sad then and does today. I have had many great what I call 'mountain top moments’ in my life that he's missed out on. He also wasn't there when I had a complete mental breakdown for two years between 2015 -2017.
My mother died in 2015 from a cancer event that we had only found out about seven days before her passing. My life was changed back in 1989 and again in 2015. Thankfully I was fortunate enough to earn my degree in health and physical education, work for the National Heart Foundation of Australia and go on to teach health and physical education in schools for 37 years. I love teaching my obsession more today than I ever have at any point of my life.
