AP News, I'm Hyupin Joani. The US Supreme Court temporarily blocked a Texas law that allows police to arrest migrants. AP correspondent Lisa Dwyer has the latest. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has issued an order that temporarily halts Texas' immigration law from going into effect until next week so that the full court can decide what steps to take next. Alito's order putting it on hold until March 13 came just hours after the Justice Department asked the Supreme Court to intervene, setting up another legal showdown over the Federal Government's authority over immigration. Under the Texas law, state officers can arrest people suspected of entering the country illegally. Once in custody, people arrested can agree to a Texas judge's order to leave the country or be prosecuted on a misdemeanor charge. Migrants who do not leave after being ordered to do so could be arrested again and charged with a more serious felony. I'm Lisa Dwyer. Diana Raleigh in Spring, Texas, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, says now is the time to make your vote count. Don't complain about what happens in a general election if you don't play in this primary. It matters. It matters. Nikki Haley supporter Erin Pakood says there's a reason she thinks voters like Haley. She's got a very reasonable perspective and, you know, I think she has people from both sides of the traditional red and blue ills that support her because of that. The MAX-9s are the ones under scrutiny after a panel blew off a jet mid-flight in January. I'm Jackie Quinn. This is AP News. In an AP interview, worker Kevin Dupuy in Truckee, California, says he was using a snowblower, but there's no place left to deposit the snow. It's not really snow removal because it doesn't get removed, it just kind of splits it into the bank. So we just move it around. A five-time pro bowler is for going free agency to remain with his team. Correspondent Gethan Koolba has more. Tampa Bay receiver Mike Evans has agreed to a two-year $52 million contract to remain with the Buccaneers instead of testing his worth in free agency according to an AP source. ESPN first reported the agreement. The 30-year-old Evans is the only player in NFL history to begin his career with 10 consecutive seasons with 1,000-plus yards receiving. He's also Tampa Bay's career leader in receptions, yardage, and touchdowns. He tied Tyree Kill for the league lead in TD catches with 13 while finishing with 79 receptions for 1,255 yards in 2023.
