"AP News, I'm Ed Donahue. The Supreme Court is getting Donald Trump a clear win just before Super Tuesday, restoring him to presidential primary ballots. The AP's soccer McGony has the story." The court ruled unanimously. States cannot invoke a civil war era constitutional provision to keep Trump or any other presidential candidate off the ballot, saying only Congress has that power. The ruling ends bids by dozens of states to end the Trump candidacy. "I think it's a very big day for America." Trump says it's the right decision, one that'll be talked about for centuries. "The voters can take the person out of the race very quickly, but a court shouldn't be doing that and the Supreme Court saw that." What political analyst Chris Galdiri at St. Anselb College thinks the court saw is a politically fraught case. "Just not wanting any part of this particular hot potato." The court will hear arguments next month on whether Trump can be prosecuted on election interference charges. Sagar, McGony, Washington. A lawsuit settlement reached today shows two attorneys for then-President Trump orchestrated a plan for fake electors to file paperwork, falsely saying the Republican won in Wisconsin in a strategy to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 victory there and in other swing states. A blizzard has moved out of the Sierra Nevada, but more snow is in the forecast. Some places got as much as seven feet of snow, Slater Stewart in Truckee, California, dressed for an avalanche. "I wore my big baggy pants so I can float, you know, if there is an avalanche, but hopefully it will avoid those." The new system is expected to bring periods of moderate mountain snow.
