We'll see you next week by 2024, and Kaiser Bush Michelobaltra light beer, St. Louis, Missouri. Hello, everybody, and welcome into a special edition of the PHNX Hockey podcast. We are here at the lovely Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas, as you can see by our beautiful set here today. This is a little more low-key than even Melbourne. Yeah, definitely. I'm here with Craig Morgan, and we just wrapped up day two of the 2024 NHL Draft in Craig. It was an eventful day, but not necessarily among the drafting itself, but with the trades. Yeah. We can't avoid talking about it, right? Yes. Because Utah made a bank. Yeah, they made two trades, not one trade, but two trades. Again, Bill Armstrong said at the end of the season, priority number one was to rebuild the blue line. Well, they went and got Michal Sergachev to be their number one defenseman. They got John Marino to be a shut down D, who, you know, it's up to Andre, but their righty lefty split could allow them to play together and you could protect Sergachev. I would say he rebuilt the blue line quite a bit in just a matter of minutes. Those two trades were announced so quickly in succession. It was crazy. Absolutely shocking. I felt like the theme of today was blockbuster trades, or just major trades outside of, I mean, involving the draft floor, but you know, not just the usual trading picks up and down. And that one definitely took me by surprise. You know, we saw a rumor the other day on Twitter that Utah was pursuing defenseman. And we know that that's been an issue as, you know, even when following the coyotes. This was the blue line was an issue for this team. And all of a sudden, not only did they go out and get a defenseman, whereas last summer at this time was when they traded for Sean Dursi, now they're making a big splash. And the trade was Sergachev to Utah for JJ Mosher, Connor Giki, a seventh round pick in 2024 and a second round pick in 2025, huge haul going Tampa's way. I think a lot of fans who were fans of the coyotes who are now fans of Utah were shook by the return. Obviously, JJ Mosher is a guy that we spent a long time talking about his potential. In the NHL, then Connor Giki is a guy that, you know, fans didn't really quite get to see it yet because he hadn't suited up for the coyotes or the roadrunners at the time. And now he goes to Tampa. So sorry fans of Utah, but you won't get to see him in a Utah uniform. What do you think about the return going the other way? Well, it's interesting. A lot of people, mostly coyotes fans were saying this is an overpay. I don't know that Utah fans really fully understood the value of Connor Giki, JJ Mosher, because they haven't seen him in their team. I will say this. I think fan bases always overvalue their own players and prospects. It just happens everywhere. To say this is an overpay, you got what you think is a number one defenseman. No, it's not an overpay. If Sergachev ends up being what they think he's going to be and listen, there were some questions last year that maybe between the injuries and maybe a little regression in play, he might not be, but coaches, managers, they don't look at one season. They look at the full body of work and he is just, in my opinion, reached NHL maturity for defenseman. He is at the point where he's stepping into his prime. This is a guy who has a chance to anchor your blue line for so long now. Yeah, you got to pay something to get something. I love JJ Mosher. I think he really brought them something, he surprised them as a second round draft pick an older guy out of Switzerland who stepped in after 18 games in Tucson and he never went back down because he impressed him so much. But JJ Mosher is probably not more than a second pair of defenseman. Let's be honest about that, okay? And Connor Giki, while he's a promising prospect, again, you got to give something to get something. I know this impacts their center depth within the system. They drafted a player yesterday, a center yesterday, Bo Doyne or Bo Doyne, as you and I would say. Bo Doyne. I'm sure Andre Turner will announce it correctly and they're pretty high on him. So does he does he feel Connor Giki shoes? We don't know yet. Connor Giki had a pretty good rise in the system. People were criticizing Connor Giki as maybe being a reach when they drafted him and now you can see the value. He was probably the key piece in this trade, right? I don't care about the draft assets that went the they have so many. This is why you have them to make this happen. But again, getting back to the central point here, this is a potential number one defenseman. You got to pay to get those guys and you absolutely have to have them if you want to win cups. Yeah. I think a lot of coyotes fans today were feeling like a little bit bad because you feel like you're finding the window, it's not the cup window, but the window of being on the ride is just opening for the first time in years. This roster has a top defenseman and you could truly say that yes, that you know, it's unfortunate that they had to give up players like Mojo and Giki to get that. But like you said, it's a huge splash and I know that a lot of coyotes fans both in our discord and on Twitter today, we're just I think thinking. Could you imagine Surgachev and a Kachina jersey and again, it's just another knife twist for the fans of Arizona, but for fans of Utah, whether you're new fans or coyote fans who are now fans of Utah, this is really exciting and John Marino as well coming over from New Jersey. That was an exchange that just involved picks, but the blue line looking a lot different for this team. It is and free agency has yet to come. I think they'll probably do more in free agency. I don't know if they'll still go after a big ticket item like a brand in Montour who will be an unrestricted free agent. I don't know. We'll see. A lot of that will depend on term and money, right Bill? He joked the other day or right after the first day of draft that he'd like to put his phone down on day one of free agency because that's where mistakes are made and it's usually an overpay and a lot of term because that's the market in free agency. That's what you have to do. Does this allow them to avoid that? Maybe they pursue Montour, but on their own terms, and if he wants a seven year deal with high numbers, maybe they don't give it to them. Maybe they just get guys to fill in and give their prospects another year to develop, guys like Mad Lam or SEMA chef or even a guy like Artem Duda who I reported the other day, they're close. They're close to signing him. Really, it's in the league's hands right now figuring out that whole Russian contract thing. A lot of prospects in the system, but again, you got your number one defense. You think you've got your number one defense, but you don't know. There were some concerns that when he signed the contract, Sergey Chev fell off a little bit. I don't know. I don't know how to read that. He's in a different role there, Victor Hedman's still there, like Donna's still there. I think he learned a lot from them. Now he's going to get a chance to step into that situation and we'll see how he does. And for fans of the Tucson Road Runners as well, I want to give them a shout out to Bummer that they won't get to see Connor keep playing this year because that was a guy that we we talked about. It's probably going to be down there this year. So let's talk about the center depth chart too. No, again, they drafted someone yesterday. They're pretty high in them. They actually moved up to get him. So they thought a lot of him, but it's projection, right? We don't know anything about these kids yet. You see, you could develop the way Connor geeky did maybe, maybe not. If he doesn't, what do you have in your system at the center position at this point? And I'm, listen, you can't build it all in the day, right? You have to have patience with this and Bill has been preaching patience all along and sounds like he's going to get it from Ryan Smith as well. But they're center depth chart in terms of the prospect system right now. I look at them. I'm like, you got some work to do there. If they're trading for a top heardy, they can trade. I know if centers are hard to come by, but maybe they find that eventually in a trade too. Bill was part of the, the staffs that did it in St. Louis a couple of times. So it's, it's not impossible, but it is hard. Yep. We'll move on from Utah talk don't want to upset people too much if they don't want to hear it. But that was the major news of the day, like just on the NHL level, that was the big splash trade of the day. Yeah. John Marino too, right? Yeah. Huge. Another guy who maybe regressed a little bit last year in New Jersey, but like that entire team regressed last year, they had 112 points to season before he was their lockdown defense when they had him against guys like McKinnon and McDavid is the one, which is the truth. We don't know. This guy who he just turned 27 last month, he, again, both of these guys fit that age group where Bill has always said, I don't want to, I don't want to bring in guys on the wrong side of 30 because they're not going to be around when this team is ready, but these guys can grow with the core. If he can be a lockdown defenseman and they've got Surgachev, you've just upgraded your blue line significantly. Absolutely. Well, Tampa was dealing today, sending Tanner Geno to the LA Kings, which was just crazy given what Tampa originally gave up to get Geno, but it just felt like they were shedding a lot of salary today. We saw earlier in the weekend that they had, that Stephen Samcoast declined an offer from them. It was low, like three million per year, I think on eight for eight years. Are they clearing up room for that? Are they clearing up room for something else? Now they're rumored to be pursuing Jake Genssel. Really interesting. What's happening over in Tampa? Yeah. It's, it's, that's a weird situation. But teams get caught in these situations, I think after they win cups and you're a couple of years down the road and you're like, do we still have it? I think internally they probably know it's over, the window is closed, but you've got to ride out some of these players like Victor Hedman that are going to be around. So some of these moves almost feel like, okay, we're going to start our rebuild quietly behind the scenes while we ride this out. You get a guy like Connor Giki who could be a really interesting piece for you and JJ Mosher for a long time, maybe you can start filling in those gaps with, you know, with the look ahead that eventually a few of these guys are going to be gone and we'll already have pieces. We won't have to start from scratch at that point. Yeah. So I found that one pretty interesting or just the moves that Tampa made today pretty interesting, but we'll run through some other trades that went down today. Some ones involving current NHLers, two couple ones besides the Utah one, which was obviously the most shocking, but there were two others that kind of had a little bit of shock value. The first one was the fact that Logan Thompson got traded to Washington from Vegas and we're in Vegas, just as a reminder. And not only that, Logan Thompson was scheduled to sign autographs for fans at Sphere today. And like what a whirlwind for him. I saw this tweet earlier today for first of all, Danny Webster tweeted Logan Thompson was in bed when he got the call from Kelly McCurmon that he was being traded, had about an hour to get down here to sign autographs, didn't want to miss an opportunity to meet with the fans. So really, really cool to hear from that. And someone, Stephen Winow, quote tweeted and said, Logan Thompson knew he was getting traded rather than sulking me to point to go to the previously scheduled autograph session at Singapore. That's classy. Incredible sign of him as a human being. So. Can I just say this? Like, can I just say it? Yeah. I acknowledge the elephant in the room. Yeah. That's not bad. What was my elephant noise? It's really hard. He's just like. He's like staring at us. Yeah. Staring at us. Yeah. Yeah. Logan Thompson handled the situation with more race than we just did with the thing lying over there. Really crazy. Again, Vegas is not afraid to make goalie moves ever. And then on the flip side, Washington kind of gets to fill the gap for a Darcy cat losing Darcy camper. Yeah. Another team that's. Yeah. What are you doing in Washington? Yeah. Not sure. It's over. But the Logan Thompson thing, just with the circumstances of today, crazy. Another one that kind of surprised me to was they announced Toronto with the final pick. The final pick of the seventh round of the 2024 NHL draft. And by the way, and we'll talk about the experience at Sphere in a minute, but the trade alert was so loud and abrupt every time. And it was really cool on the screen. Like trade alert. Great. Giant puck. Yeah. Giant puck. But we actually saw staff on the floor physically jump multiple times when this graphic would come on the screen. So anyway, you're like, okay, at the last pick, here we go, the rounds on day two always fly. And all of a sudden, that thing comes in and you're thinking, oh my God, it's the last pick. Like Toronto is really about to trade this pick away. They weren't trading that pick. They were announcing a different trade, which was Dallas trading in Cristana to Toronto for Max Ellis and a 2026 seventh round pick. So at first, the trade graphic comes through everybody laughed. And then they announced the trade and everybody gasped. So it was a pretty funny moment at Sphere today. But what are your thoughts on that? That's Toronto getting blue line help, right, that they desperately need. We know we need that. Yeah. And I think they were in on him before Dallas ended up getting him. So it kind of worked out for them in the end. Just the thought. Maybe we get a goalie too. I don't know. Just me thinking out loud. Oh, well. Yeah. If any Toronto executives. Maybe I'll jump next year, Toronto. I won't say the year. I won't. I'll do it. Oh, yoy, yoy. Yeah. A couple of other trades that went through today, Kevin Hayes to Pittsburgh from St. Davis. And the doubles traded holds a Kirishman and a Kirishman to Vegas for Paul Cotter and a 2025 third. So just a lot of trades today and it's good because I think that having big trades like this is what makes the draft really fun. We didn't really we saw a lot of trades on day one, just moving picks around to move upper back. We didn't see many trades for the current players today was the day for that though. And I offered a lot of entry on rounds two through seven, which normally is no offense to the players taking those days, but a little bit more dull than the first night. Yes. Bill Armstrong. Leave no way, right? Making his flash. I think he said on NHL Network woke up after my two minutes of sleep and decided let's go shock the world, which is a very Bill Armstrong. It is. So listen, I'm going to I said this to you guys in the car, but I'm going to say it like Bill Armstrong gets media. He gets how to play to media. I will say that. And I know maybe that rubs some people the wrong way, especially in NHL circles where it's all very low key. This is good for the Utah franchise to have a guy like this as the face year franchise. He is engaging. He's funny. He's articulate. He's insightful. It's a really good spokesperson for this franchise to have moving forward. And we love talking to him because of that all me like you just he had a quick scrum because he was getting out of here as he told me he's flying on the private jet back home because he didn't want to do the commercial thing to risk not getting home. I would. Exactly. If you got that opportunity, I'm all for it, but he just had everybody laugh it, right? There's a national reporters and he's just so engaging. Yeah. That's going to be a real asset to Utah. Yeah, absolutely. And as a reminder, if you are interested in continuing to follow Utah or learning more, Craig, is writing about them on allcitynetwork.com? Not the age. Not the age. Not the age. Go to eachandex.com. Don't worry. But if you are interested, of course, you can find that coverage. AllcityNetwork.com. We're talking about Utah today because it was one of the major storylines of the NHL draft today. You know, we just, it's weird without covering a specific team. We weren't following really the picks as much. I didn't really know as much about the prospects this year. But before we move on to some other stuff we're going to talk about, Craig, any other takeaways just from today on the hockey front? Not so much on the hockey front. I know we're going to talk about the sphere and we're going to talk about the elephant in the room. Yeah. Not Shane Diefenbock on the bed. Why don't you do this again? Like, I think it's a mistake by the NHL we'll get to that. But just on the hockey side, it was interesting. There were a lot of complaints from people not, they didn't acknowledge the Florida Panther's a Stanley Cup champions that usually happens. The NHL asked everybody to move it along quickly today, which is weird, right? It's the draft. Yes, today. Yeah. Both days. We had to be out of there by 1PM. Yeah. It was wild. It finished at like 1240 and then they're like, "Okay, bye." Staff moved in. They started like taking things down and they were like aggressively in our way or right around us. It was really clear that media had to clear out of sphere by 1PM today because I think they've had another event tonight, right? Crazy. Yeah. But it was an experience. Yeah, it definitely was. We'll talk. Let's talk about it. Sure. And we talked about it a little bit if you watched our day one quick recap video. We spoke a little bit about the experience there. I think it was an unbelievable place to have to draft if I would even say do it every year there. That's how cool it was. I think other leagues should take notice. I thought it was unbelievable. And obviously, I just think I would love to experience another event at the sphere, excuse me, at sphere, not sphere as well because it was really, really cool. It was so funny, though, when we got there yesterday, normally, these events are in arenas and most media members are familiar with either the arena it's in because they traveled to them enough or you kind of have a sense of how an arena is set up. Nobody knew what was going on yesterday when the doors opened. It was hilarious. Where'd we go? And we were among them having no idea like, which elevator led to where? Where do we go? Where is this? Where is that? They literally had sphere staff members everywhere holding signs saying, how can I assist you? And those people were needed because nobody knew what was going on. So, just so funny. It was like a dead show. Yeah. So, just find the orange vests. Yeah. I'll help you out. So, if that's an old reference, you guys will look at me like, what? Yeah. No, I don't know. I don't know. I know what I'm talking about. But that was a funny behind the scenes thing. You all people do. You sure do. That was a funny behind the scenes thing since barely anyone has had the opportunity to go to the sphere. Yeah. Especially not the Nashville Predators. You know, it was funny. Like, we've talked about how this is a great thing for players, right, to have this stage. And I've talked to people who would like to see sort of a hybrid, at least do a big deal on the first day. What was interesting today, like, we've talked about the cost of it. It's a massive cost because you see the size of the staffs that the teams bring here. You know the cost of hotel rooms and food and after parties and all that. So it's a massive cost to teams. There's the turnaround time for free agency, which makes it really hard on executives. But I hadn't thought before today to get Scout's perspective. I talked to a few Scouts and all like, man, I want to keep doing this. The thing with Scouts too, it's funny. They don't get their chance in the limelight ever. This is their chance. This is the one time that they step into the limelight and they actually get to do media and they like it. They want to do it more. And when you're in a setting like this, like Daryl Plandoski was about as low-key a guy as you'll meet. He was like, this was awesome. The experience. He said, you can't help. Even while you're, you know, you're so engaged in your job that day, this is your day. The biggest day of the year for you, you're looking around just in amazement at the place you're in. They want to do it again. So, and I don't think the NHL will reconsider this, but I wish they would at least consider a modified version of it because it's really cool to have the whole NHL community here. It really is. But I will say Deputy Commissioner Bill Daley at the end said, we'll see everybody next year at a site and location to be determined. And some people were thinking, hmm, I know they're going to whole like physically host the draft. Anyway, it'll just be more like the NBA and NFL style. But that was a, I noticed that, I noticed that he said that. So maybe they saw what a success it was at the sphere, I don't know. But I thought it was great. I thought it's fear did a great job and kudos to the people who planned this and the people who executed the graphics and the design and the look. It was just really, really cool. It's been a whirlwind for us. We've been here like, well, barely 24 hours, right? Yeah. It's crazy what's happened. So many things have happened. Lea got carded. That was a thing. A lot of things have happened. Oh my gosh. By the way, just going back to an earlier point about the light, the lightning is that Re's bought said he did not offer an increased offer to Samcoast despite today's trades that opened up cap space and said, both the lightning and Samcoast agreed to go to July 1st unless something changes. And he, quote, I don't think something will. Yeah. So Steven Samcoast is moving on again. It's time. Like, we need to recognize it, right? If you're an organization that's past your window, you need to recognize it. Too many teams just hold on. They hold on way too long. Sorry. As a Chicago, as a former Chicago Black Hawk fan, I watched that. They kept thinking they could reload. It was done. It's over, like Washington. It's over, Tampa. It's over. Pittsburgh. It's over. It's not happening again. And meanwhile, you have these teams on the op and once again, Utah's won and that's painful for a lot of coyotes fans. So I feel, I feel. This episode is brought to you by our good friends at NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV. I'm sure by now you've all got back into your Sunday routines, but they could be even better. With NFL Sunday Ticket and YouTube TV, you get the most live NFL games all in one place every game, every Sunday, and you can even watch up to four different games at once with multi-view, one of my favorite inventions of this decade. It's exactly what you need to catch all the action. Make your Sundays more magical. And also, YouTube TV is great. I got it this year. It's awesome. Sign up now at youtube.com/bs device and content restrictions apply. Local and national games on YouTube TV, NFL Sunday Ticket for out-of-market games, excludes digital-only games. For them, well, before we move on to talk about coyotes a little bit more, become a diehard. Join our family. First of all, in Discord, it's great because there's a lot of empathy, sympathy for each other, especially at this event. I think some people were feeling this was kind of, and I wrote about this in my column earlier this week, which you can read now at GoPHNX.com, but that you could almost pretend that none of this had happened yet, because normally at this point, coyotes were out of the playoffs and there wasn't really much news in the off-season hockey-wise, and it wouldn't be until the marquee event started happening, the draft free agency development camp training camp, that things would start to sink in, and then NHL draft was the first of those events to happen. A lot of people, even PD, put his two cents in or discord the other night saying, "I just don't think I'm going to watch the draft," and I felt like that was the reaction of a lot of people, which I completely understand and acknowledge, but it was great vibes in the discord. As always, there is a little Utah thread in there for fans of the coyotes who are interested, separate, you don't have to look at it, but just a lot of great perks to becoming a die-hard during our family, getting access to the discord, 20% off on merch, such as our hockey blogs and the desert tea, the coyotes forever, deactivated fan tea, which we did see yesterday walking into the sphere, we saw deactivated fan tea, which was great. Or if you want to become a die-hard, you can get a free-shooter hat when you sign up, which is great, and 20% off on events as well, and we have a lot of events coming up this fall, including the Cardinals trip to Miami that Craig is going on, so it's a great time to become a PH next die-hard, and we really hope that you do so. We had some die-hards at the draft. Yes, we saw Bill and Karen, great to see them, and let's talk about it, and actually they had some really great anecdotes, which I haven't even shared with you yet, so you get to hear it live on the show, but, so first of all, Bill and Karen said that they were coyotes jerseys yesterday, which by the way, we saw that, we saw Chris Canfield was in attendance. Like I mentioned, we saw a few coyotes adjacent clothing items on night one, and they said that they got so many just hockey fans from all the teams came up and said, "We're so sorry. You lost your team." Bill said that people were hugging them, like fans of other teams were hugging them, that they met fans of Utah who said, "We're really sorry that it happened this way, like thank you." That sort of thing, just really great all around, and actually this was a funny one. They were wearing the Orange Reverse Retro jersey, and Wild Wing, the Anaheim Ducks mascot, came up to them, saw that they were wearing coyotes jerseys, and gave them a hug, but then he said he liked the Orange, too. But they actually have pictures, they posted them on our Discord this afternoon, so go ahead and take a look if you're a diehard. But I just thought, those were really great anecdotes, so thank you to them for sharing. And then we kind of experienced it in the Uber line, and we met a Frank, a fan of Utah, if you're listening, hello. And he said, "Some more sentiment, just we're really sorry for you guys." Yeah, and he started following us, started watching the show, and all this started going down, and really became a fan of our shows. Yeah. So it was really great to see the outpouring support from the NHL community on the fan level. We experienced something similar on the media level as well. Either people we know, we're really checking in, I'm so sorry, or there are some people I didn't know, and they said, "Oh, where are you from?" I said, "Arizona." Their immediate reaction was, "Oh, how are you doing? I'm so sorry." There was nobody scoffing, or anything like that. It was really nice to see that from the NHL community. And that's the NHL community, right? Like none I've ever experienced have covered all the other sports. It's just, it's different, hockey's different, I don't know why that is, but it's the truth. Yeah, absolutely. And I had the opportunity to catch up with a number of national media members and personalities. I also talked to some player agents to get their perspective on things in Arizona and how they unfolded. You can check out those videos a little bit later on our Ph and X4T YouTube channel in the coming days. So make sure you take a look at that. I think a lot of Coyotes fans will be interested to hear what they had to say. Actually, I'm more optimism than I expected from national media members, including ones that maybe Coyotes fans weren't necessarily a fan of the coverage of this whole situation. A lot more optimism than I was expecting. That's interesting to me because, I mean, I don't know what you mean by optimism, because I wasn't there for those, you were doing those on camera with Shane, but in terms of timeline. That's what I mean, the timeline. I don't share that optimism based on what I've been hearing. I just, we've talked about this already, the biggest issue. Aside from finding the group, okay, we know that we've talked to a couple of groups, confirm that they exist, we'll see how serious they are, that all has to get vetted, hopefully better than the past ownership groups have been vetted by the NHL. But again, you have the arena issue, and you have a city that doesn't want to offer any sort of tax breaks or any other incentives to a sports owner. So it makes it really hard to get things done. Within five years, I'll believe when I see it, I'm not on that train of believing that it's going to be back within five years, but, you know, maybe something will change in the near future. I know a lot of these people were expressing optimism, but, I don't know, if you took the temperature at Gary Bettman right now, I think he's sort of taking a cautious approach. It feels like it's on the back burner right now. Which I think I would understand, and also, the dust has barely even settled. This all just happened in the last two months and week, so I understand. But I think if there's an opportunity for the dust to settle, and then some really strong moves and ownership voices step up, who knows? We'll see. But again, that's something we'll be following on this show. We should probably mention, too, how many people we talked to from the coyotes, because you see staff, you see people around. And there was this narrative out there that... From Utah now, not the coyotes, former coyotes. Yeah. Well, I still think in that framing, when they were here, there's this narrative that they couldn't wait to get out of Arizona, yeah, they're really dying to get to Salt Lake City. They're dying to get away from the Morelos, okay? That was almost universal with players, coaches, managers, staff, couldn't wait to get away from the Morello ownership group and get to an ownership group that was going to support them the way they felt they needed to be supported. Did they want to leave Arizona? Hell no, they didn't want to leave Arizona. Like we were talking to people who were saying, "Yeah, we're looking for places in Salt Lake and people are like, "Oh, you're going to love it, it's beautiful." And they're like, "We just love Scottsdale, okay? We love Scottsdale. We didn't want to leave Scottsdale." Yeah. It's perfection for so many hockey people. So in that light, just remember, hockey players want to play in Arizona, hockey staff, managers. They all want to be here. Yeah. They love living in Arizona. It's just about getting the right ownership group and somehow getting an arena built in the right location. Yeah. They're not going back to Glendale. I've said this already. It could be, if you have an arena locked in, you've shown a plan and you're already moving forward with it, it's going to be three years. Would they entertain the possibility of letting them play Glendale temporarily? Sure, you'd have to work that out with Glendale too. I'm not sure how excited Glendale would be to take them back for, "Oh, you want us in a temporary solution to get a situation again, huh?" It's like, you know, it's big, the jilted lover, "Oh, you're coming back to me now, but you're leaving me again." I'm not sure that that's going to work out. They need to get the arena locked in before it ever happens, but Arizona is a hockey market. The NHL believes it's a hockey market. They love the market and want to be there. They just have major hurdles. Yeah. And again, that was the sentiment of the national media members as well as the agents. You know, we're really complimentary of the potential of Arizona as an NHL market. And this is just the same thing across the board. You need to have a great and stable ownership group and you need to have an arena. And those two things have never been solved in the history of hockey in the desert of Arizona. That is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's working quite well. Is it ever? Oh my God. It's the biggest golden nights everywhere. But yeah, unfortunately, that just hasn't been the case, but we'll see. But again, you can check out those videos later in the week on our YouTube channel. I'll just throw out the names so people know who's got them. Okay. Well, we talked to our friends, Pete and DJ, of what chaos, of course, part of the All City family. Yeah. Also talked to Ryan Kennedy of the hockey news, Frank Siravalli from Daily Face Off and Mark Lazarus from The Athletic. And then as far as agents talked to Brian Bartlett, who represents Clayton Keller, Logan Cooley, and then Kurt Overhart, who represents Nick Schmaltz. Yeah. Yeah. Some great insight. People who really, you know, have a connection to the situation. So really, really interesting and looking forward to getting those out there for people to see. Craig, anything else before we wrap up here? No. I got to write a story, try and get it done. We need to have a night here in Vegas. I mean, I know we had a night last night, but we need to have a longer kind of all city night. It was a surprise to you were feeling the facts while this old guy was doing okay. I'm saying. I'm saying. Oh, man, by the way, it is really cool to see the presence of All City here in Los Vegas. The whole DNR abs crew was here. Yeah. Yeah. The whole CHGO crew was here and Charlie O'Connor from, from PHLI was here. So, and obviously the what chaos guys, they left this morning, but we saw them last night. So really cool to see the presence of All City here in Vegas. And we hope you can continue to support those. I know there's some people who are kind of jumping on the abs bandwagon now from former coyote fans to definitely check out our friends at DNR Avalanche and you can check out any of their shows and what chaos as well. So that was really fun. And by the way, we want to give a happy birthday shout out to our Fred Patrick Brown Patrick happy birthday. Looking forward to. Celebrating with them. Yeah. We'll celebrate with you tonight, Patrick. So if you're watching or listening, happy birthday. But yeah, this has been a really. Pee-bun hockey, by the way. Yes, Pee-bun hockey. That's a hockey writer. Yeah. Subscribe to Substack. It'd be great. Again, if you want some Utah coverage from Patrick as well, but this was a really interesting draft just on a personal note, first of all, I just want to say that I'm extremely grateful. It was a lifelong dream of mine to get to cover the NHL draft. And I got to do it on our adventurous time a couple of years ago in Montreal again last year in Nashville and then this year in Las Vegas. The contrast of this year compared to those two very wild. It felt very weird to not cover a specific team, but I'm really glad we came. I think it was really cool. I think your favorite draft had it still been about the Coyotes. It might have been because they drafted, I mean, I think the first draft will always be special because A, it was the first draft and B, it was Logan Cooley, which was really cool. And there wasn't a certainty of who they were going to pick then. Last year was cool because it was just so shocking. This year I think would have been, I mean, this year was my favorite in terms of like the venue, loved the sphere and I think that the Teajig in Love pick for Utah, that would have been the Coyotes pick. Just that story is so incredible. That's a story I'm going to tell, by the way, a little later this week. I want to tell the right story for fans of Utah or, you know, people who care about the connection here. Yeah, I don't want to give this away, but I have a really good story brewing on this, but I will have a story up later today, just sort of wrapping the draft, I'm almost finished writing it. But I do think if it was like, if you just close your eyes and picture the Coyotes logo on everything this weekend, the intrigue with that pick, the major trade today, the setting of the sphere, I have to imagine it would have been my favorite. Probably would have been. And unfortunately, I mean, I guess luckily, but PD would have had to do a four hour draft show after coming off of three straight weeks of traveling for the Stanley Cup Final. I'm not sure how PD would have felt about it. You got to rest and relax at home. Hello, PD, if you're watching, but yeah, very, very interesting year and it's really too bad that the centralized format is coming to an end, at least that's what they say. I'm hopeful holding out hope, but we will see, but yeah, that's it for us, Craig. I guess we'll, we'll finish up our work and hit the town tonight. So if you're in Las Vegas, we'll maybe we'll see you out about, but everybody, we appreciate you so much. like button on this video.
