This parable of talents is quite obvious. The Master is Jesus Christ, He is gone on a long journey, will come back and ask for an accounting with all. He gave all that he owned to the servants to manage. He gave his life on the cross. The talent is the gospel, how we manage it will get either one of the responses from the master.
