We must understand the deep experience of encountering God and its impact on people like Moses and Paul. Moses had the experience of seeing the burning bush. He had the experience of being with God to bring the stone tablets containing the Ten Commandments. He goes a second time but this time he had to take two tablets like the ones he broke, only this time it is plain so that the Lord can write on it with his finger.
