My name is Ryan and I am a Bible Nerd! We continue in Luke's Gospel in Chpt 4 verses 14-30.  In this section, Jesus is reading from the scroll of Isaiah in the synagogue.  Jesus is reading what we call Chapter 61.

This will help you understand what an incredible statement Jesus says in verse 21 that the passage of scripture is fulfilled.  Their first response is questioning who Jesus is, as they have known him since birth.
