(upbeat music) - Oh, welcome into the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Boulpin. And it's Tuesday, July the 23rd. Boom, that's how we start off the week. We had a little week off break and we started Monday, four plays, three winners. Let's go, love it. Let's get into the plays from yesterday. Our first one, we took the Detroit Tigers team total over three and a half. This cashed in the second inning, guys. This was a bang-on read. This was a great call. Love this one. We knew Detroit was gonna get to Carlos Carrasco and did they ever. He gave up nine hits, six runs, beautiful. Tigers went on to win this one, eight to two. And actually, Tariq Scuba got a little lucky. He gave up 10 hits and only one run. So he was kind of getting out of some jams, but yeah, man, we call this one beautifully. Love it. We had two batter parlays that we liked. We took Jose Altuve and paired him with Brian Reynolds. Altuve came in first and bad first inning, love it. Reynolds took till about the seventh inning to get his, but that one cashed, so that's a winner. And then we took Willy Contreras to the St. Louis Cardinals. Boom, first inning, he got his. And then Jordon Alvarez again, first inning. So no sweat on these batters whatsoever. Bang-on read, love it. There's our three winners. Our one loser, we took Houston and Oakland over eight and a half. Now, Oakland did their part. They scored four runs. They did well. Their offense is still hot, but Houston kept choking with men in scoring positions. They had eight hits and zero runs on the game. Like that's terrible. So yeah, they had three inning ending double plays. So three times they had something cooking and then boom, into a double play, blow it, including one time they had the bases loaded and they did it. And oh, God, I hate sacrificed buns. One inning, they had first and second, couple of singles. And then they make Dubon a bunt. And then yeah, great. They moved over to second and third, but it goes straight out, straight out. Like who knows, maybe that guy could have got the hit. Like he's already in scoring position. I don't need to move him over. I don't know. I hate sacrificed bunting. Maybe in the playoffs when runs are hard to come by, but this was like the middle of the game or beginning of the game, like, come on, let them swing the bat. So we ended up losing that one. That was our one loser. So we had three winners, one loser. Beautiful way to start the week. Let's go. Let's get into some plays I got today. I only got three plays going. I got one Moneyline and two batter parlays. Let's get into the Moneyline. We're gonna back the Kansas City Royals today. I like the price of this one. We're back in Alec Marsh. Now this guy's seven and six. He's got a 452 ERA and a 1.22 whip. So totally serviceable. He's not lights out by any means, but he's good. And he only gives up 8.29 hits per nine. So it doesn't give up a lot of contact and we're playing at home in Kansas City with that big outfield. So when you're not giving up a lot of hits and a lot of contact, I like those numbers. That helps us. And we're going versus Arizona and Jordan Montgomery. Now this guy is six and five. He's got a 644 ERA. That is massive. He's got a 1.68 whip. Also terrible. And he gives up 12.01 hits per nine. Now we always say that 10 hits per nine is the threshold of like not doing very well. So 12 is terrible. So you're giving up a ton of contact in this outfield. Good luck with that. His last game out, he lasted two winnings. He's giving up nine hits and eight runs. So his recent form isn't great. He's not a great pitcher. And this Kansas City offense is on fire. Bobby Whit, especially. This guy's got three hits in four games back to back. So he is absolutely on fire right now. Kansas City's eight and two over the last 10. They've won four in a row. They just smashed Arizona last night, 10 to four. And we get Kansas City at home plus money. Plus 102, really? I'll take the odds on that all day. Love that look. All right. And I got two batter parlays I like. Our first one we're going to take Shoe Otani of the LA Dodgers to get one hit. And he's back to 3.13 on the year. He's got a hit in 11 of his last 13 games. And he's two for four versus Jordan Hicks. So great numbers, good history. Perfect. And we're going to pair him with Vlady Guerrero. Now he's back in 7.27 versus Sean Armstrong in 14 played appearances. So great history. He's got a hit in 28 of his last 25 games. He's got three home runs over his last four. And honestly, it's like the Blue Jays every year. When they have zero pressure and nothing actually play for it, these guys swing the lights out and their bats just start coming alive. So I like pairing Otani and Vlady together. And then our other play is we're going to take our boy Marcel Ozuna to get one hit. And we spent 500 with two home runs versus Nick Martinez. He's got two hits and eight out of his last 10 games. That is huge. He's got five home runs over his last nine games. So he is hitting the ball and hitting the ball long. So we love that. And we're going to pair him with Stephen Quand. Now Stephen Quand is elite versus left handed pitching. He's looks like it's Joey Wentz going for Detroit, but it's not official. So that's why we're not seeing some books have Quand posted and some don't, but he's three for eight versus Joey Wentz. Joey Wentz gives up 10.33 hits per nine. So that's a great combination. So we're going to pair Marcel Ozuna and Stephen Quand together. Ozuna's on the Atlanta Braves, Stephen Quand on the Cleveland Guardians. So we got Kansas City on the Moneyline, two batter parlays. After a nice three in one day, I know you're rocking with me. Let's roll. (upbeat music)
