(upbeat music) - Welcome into the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Blopen, and it's Sunday, July the 14th. All right, guys, we got to recap a losing day yesterday. We had three sides and totals. We had 0-1-3, and then we had four batter parlays, and we went two and two. So we gave back three units yesterday. Let's get into the plays. We took Texas and Houston over eight. Well, that happened in this game. We get a lead-off homer first batter, Marcus Simeon hits a homerun for us, beautiful. And then on the bottom half, Houston gets four back-to-back singles to score a run and load the bases, and they only get that one run out of it. And that's it for the rest of the game. It went 1-1 into extras. This was a strange one. I was not expecting this at all. I literally saw the scores and the highlights and the first inning, and I was like, all right, here we go, I could probably put this one down. The way these guys are going, I thought they were both going to be able to hit and connect versus the starting pitchers. And nope, that's it. And yeah, the Spencer Arageti gave up the single homerun and then that was it. So I mean, he pitched lights out. So we lost that one. Then we took Kansas City on the money line. And man, Cutter Crawford out pitched Seth Lugo. He looked good. He had a one hitter going into the eighth. So Boston got to the right, he Seth Lugo. Again, the righty. They just keep crushing right in and pitching right now. He gave up 10 hits and five runs. And Boston went on to win five to nothing. So that was another brutal one. And then we took Baltimore on the money line. Man, Grayson Rodriguez got roughed up in the first inning. He gave up a run and then he gave up a three run homer to Austin Wells of all people, the catcher in his 219 average and five home runs on the year. So that's just a brutal start. They put up four runs in the top of the first inning and then Lewis Gill, who's the super rookie on the Yankees. He just had zero pressure. So he's had a ton of problems with walks lately. I mean, actually for the whole year, he's the second most walks in the entire league. But there's no pressure he can throw strikes. He can absolutely just attack versus guys. And he's got some electric stuff. But half his problems, he's missing so hard. And then when he's missing, he's got to throw like heat right down the middle and people are turning on him and crushing him. But yeah, he had zero pressure. So we didn't have to worry about, you know, giving up any small amounts of runs because they already had a four-nothing lead. So the Yankees going to win six to one. So we lost our three plays, guys. That was a bit painful. And then we went two and two on our batter parlays. We took Yan Dias and we paired that with Bobby Whit. Yan Dias came through, Bobby Whit did not. Cutter Crawford ran through Kansas City so he didn't get a hit. And then we took Yordon Alvarez and Steven Quand again a hit. Alvarez came through and Quand didn't. So let me get this straight. The number one and number two people, batters in the majors with the highest two batting averages couldn't get us a hit and cost us a parlay. Yesterday, that's Steven Quand number one and Bobby Whit number two. So the two best hitters in baseball right now, on average, lost us two tickets yesterday. So that sucked. Our two winners, we took Gunnar Henderson. This guy's an absolute stud. We paired it with Trey Turner. He came through for us. And then we took Jose Altuve and we took Lewis Arias. So not a bad day. We got our butts kicked a little bit. Three units, not the end of the world. We were up more than that on Friday. But we got some work to do today to get some of that back. Let's get into the place today. I only got one side in total. We are going to take Kansas City and Boston. And we're going over 9 and 1/2 runs. Now it's Brian Bello going today. We don't like this guy. We bet over his versus this guy all the time. He's 9 and 5. He's got a 5.40 ERA and a 1.49 whip. His last four starts have gone well over the total. Love that. He's given up 9.96 hits per 9. He's pitched one good game over his last seven starts. And that was versus Miami. So I really think Kansas City can get to him. And on the other side, it's Brady Singer going. Now he's 5 and 5. He's got a 293 ERA. Not bad at all. But he doesn't really have swinging this stuff. Like his fastball tops out at 92. And I mean, you're going to have to do better than that to get past these Boston bats. They're absolutely on fire right now. And especially versus right-handed pitching. They got a good chance of getting us over 9 and 1/2 runs. And that's just the one play I got. And then I got four batter parlays. We got going today. Our first one. We're going to take Juan Soto of the New York Yankees. And we're going to pair that with Yandy Diaz, the Tampa Bay Rays. Now Soto's betting 500 versus Kramer. He's got two hits and four of his last four. He's on fire right now. Give me Juan Soto. And we're going to pair that with Yandy Diaz, the Tampa Bay Rays. He's got a hit in 21 out of his last 25 games. He's got 303 at home, so the two of those guys together, I really like that. Our next one is we are going to go with our boy Marcelo Zuna. He is absolutely on fire right now. Now this was the handicap versus Randy Vasquez that I thought was coming a couple of days ago. But he's three for four with a homer in two doubles versus Randy Vasquez and his 12.96 hits per 9. Love that combo to pair him with Trey Turner, who's an absolute beast right now. He's got a hit in 21 out of his last 25 games. He's got two hits and four of his last four. He's betting 343 on the year. Great combo there. Our next one is we are going to take Heliot Ramos of the San Francisco Giants. This kid out of nowhere is on fire. He's on a nine game hitting streak. He's got a hit in 12 of his last 13 games. Love him today. And we're going to pair him with Brian Reynolds. This guy is just on fire as well. He's got a hit in 32 out of his last 38 games. That is monstrous. He had a four hit game last night. So we're going to go Heliot Ramos, San Francisco Giants, and Brian Reynolds of the Pittsburgh Pirates together. And then we're going to go with Byron Buxton. Now, this guy's on Minnesota. Now, he's betting 372 over the last 30 days. Love that. He's betting 318 versus left handed pitching. And we got a lefty on the mound today. So give me Byron Buxton and we're going to pair that with Nico Horner of the Chicago Cubs. Now, this guy's got the longest hitting streak right now. He's absolutely on fire. He's betting 407 versus Miles Michelis. He's on a 10 game hitting streak. And he's got two hits and four of his last five games. So I like that as well. Nico Horner of the Chicago Cubs and Byron Buxton are the Minnesota Twins. So we've got four batter parlays going today. And we've got one side in total. We're going to take Kansas City, Boston, over that 9 and 1/2. All right, guys, if you're rocking with me, let's roll. (soft music)
