I'm your pocket fillers, the parlay killer, the north side thriller, start the broadcast. Subscribe with smash, the gorilla sports podcast, the gorilla sports podcast here. Welcome into the gorilla sports podcast. I'm your host, Alex Boulpin. It's Saturday, July the 13th. I told you we were weekend warriors. We smashed the books yesterday. We had eight plays out there. Love it. We ended up winning six of them, six and two yesterday, smashing day. One of the wins ended up being a half as Jose Miranda got voided off. He didn't play for Minnesota. So one of our batter parlades was only worth 0.4 units. And we went 5.4 and two, but that's a beauty day after a losing day the day before we come right back just as we're supposed to. And we crushed love it guys. That's what I'm talking about. All right. Let's recap from yesterday. We had Texas and Houston over seven and a half. We couldn't have called this one any better. This smashed this cash in the sixth inning. We were, we loved Simeon, Marcus Simeon, and he went three for three yesterday and you guessed it for three singles. This guy is 10 for 11 versus he knew with 10 singles, so that was a beauty. So we bet on him by himself, but he definitely also helped get us over. And then we also had Alex Bregman. We were attacking in this game and he went two for four with a homer. So we call this one beautifully. Let's go. Our next play was Atlanta Braves on the Moneyline. Now this pick kind of bothered me all day long. Randy Vasquez was the starting pitcher and they changed it at the last second. Oh man, honestly, we had Atlanta on the Moneyline and we had two batters because we were going versus Randy Vasquez like that was the whole handicap, which this guy gives up so many hits. He gives up a ton of contact. I thought Atlanta would crush all over this guy. So again, when when I have to put out plays in the morning, this, this is the rub. This is what happens. But in order to get plays out to you guys for these one o'clock games, I got a record in the morning. So I don't have the final lineup set before I make these plays. So not only did Randy Vasquez not pitch, but they put in Matt Waldron. Who's awesome? He's a knuckleballer, but he can actually throw heat as well as the knuckleball like most knuckleballers, like they top out at like 80 miles an hour for their fastball. Not this guy. He can throw smoke and he's got a nasty knuckleball. So man, we got real lucky on this one. Our boy, Marcelo Zuna got us out of this. Got us out of this. He went. He ended up hitting two home runs for us. So this was pretty lucky that this went the way it did because Atlanta won the game. Oh, Zuna hit for us as well. But honestly, if I knew that this was Matt Waldron going, I wouldn't have taken Atlanta on the Moneyline and I wouldn't have taken either of these batters. So we got real lucky on this one. Atlanta ended up winning six to one. So they smashed for us. Booked that as a winner, but oh, man, we got lucky there. Our other play, we took Minnesota on the Moneyline again, betting in the morning. We had a lot of this handicap was that they were going versus San Fran's lefty and three of their best hitters worked in the lineup for this one either. Max Kepler didn't go. He sat Trevor Larnick didn't sit and a guy we bet on who's like the lefty killer. This was part of the handicap was how good Jose Miranda is against left handed pitching. All three of those guys didn't play. And what was worse is I knew they were losing. And I was talking with a buddy and I'm like, I hope they don't pinch hit with him. So it turns out they pinch hit Max Kepler gets in the game. Trevor Larnick gets in the game and I'm like, oh my God, for sure they're going to bring in Miranda as well. And we're going to have a one for one shot to get a hit or we're going to lose one of our batter parlays. Thank God they didn't put him in, but both those guys went in neither of them got hits. And then in the ninth inning, it's seven to one and they've got their two rookie hitters coming up. I'm like, this is the spot for sure, but they kind of waved the white flag. They were down seven to one and they decided not to bring him in. So, so we ended up losing Minnesota on the money line. That was our one losing play on our sides in total. So we went two and one there and then our batter parlays. We smashed on these. We took, well, we took Austin Riley and we took Jonathan India. Jonathan India came through Austin Riley couldn't hit the knuckle baller. I mean, I don't blame him. I couldn't hit them either. And then we took Gunnar Henderson to Marcus Simeon. They both came through. Simeon with his three singles, love that. And then we took Alex Bregman and Yanny Diaz, Bregman two for four with a homer. Yanny Diaz three for five. This guy is crushing so much for us. And then we took Juan Soto and we paired that with Carlos Correa, Soto two for four. He's been smashing for us and Carlos Correa got one late hit for us. So that was a winner as well. And then we had Marcelo Zuna and we paired that with Jose Miranda. So Miranda got voided off and Marcelo Zuna hit two home runs for us. So that was beautiful. So yeah, guys, a 5.4 in two days, another 3.4 units back to us. Boom. Back on track. Love it. Let's get into some plays today. We are going to take, well, so I was looking at this Texas and Houston game and it's Spencer Aaron Getty going for Houston. So already I'm like, okay, let's have a look at Texas. See who's pitching for Texas and Spencer Aaron Garrett Getty is four and seven. He's got a 586 area, 1.66 whips of terrible numbers. And he's just, he's all over the place. So you can pitch great games and then absolutely get blown up for 10 runs. It's Nathan Evaldi going on the other side. So I was like, okay, this is all Texas on the money line until I dug a little deeper like Nathan Evaldi's having a great year. He's six and three. He's got a 3.10 year way, 1.03 whips. And he is terrible versus Houston. It's shocking. He has got unbelievably bad numbers. He's pitched once versus in this year, he gave up eight hits and five runs. His last three starts versus Houston, I've gone over the total because he gets rocked by him. Some of these stats are wild, like Al Tuve absolutely owns him. He's batting 3.48 versus him over 29 plate appearances. He has seven home runs versus Nathan Evaldi. He had a two home run game this year versus Nathan Evaldi. And then last year he had a two home run game as well. So his last 12 plate appearances versus Evaldi, he's got six hits and four of them being home runs. He absolutely crushes versus him. Also Jordon Alvarez is a beast against him as well. He was betting 5.38 and Braggman also crushes. So like the entire team crushes versus him. So I'm like, okay, well, I can't take Texas now, but I do love that over. Give me over eight runs. I also took a play on both Texas and Houston to score over two and a half runs and that comes in a plus 100. So I like that as well. But yeah, give me Texas and Houston over eight. I got that at minus 120. I see that the lines moved on it now. I see it's minus 132 on draftings. So again, this is what happens when you bet in the morning. Sometimes you get better numbers, but you also don't get to see the starting line ups the same way. But that's a good one. I like that one. Give me Texas and Houston over eight. Our next play is we're going to take Kansas City Royals on the money line. Now we're back in Seth Lugo. This guy is 11 and three, got a great record. He's got a 2.21 ERA. That leads major league baseball is the lowest run average in the league. He's absolutely on fire. He's given up six runs over his last five starts. That's really good. The difference is we're going with versus cutter Crawford on the other side. Now he's five and seven with a 324 ERA. Now this guy's a really good pitcher as well. However, he's not as good at home. He's got a worse record and a two run ERA difference at home. Now I think it's because like this is a very hitter friendly park in Boston and he doesn't induce a lot of ground balls. So I really think Kansas City bats can get to him. It's I mean with with Kaufman Stadium, they're massive outfield. They have when they come here to to Boston to play. It looks like a little league park for him. Now speaking of waiting on pitchers, I took Kansas City yesterday, but Boston wasn't labeling their pitcher yet. So I wasn't sure. I knew it was supposed to be Cooper Chriswell. So that was going to be the idea, but I waited on this one because they had a to be determined for their starting pitcher. So I'm not going to try and do that. However, two of them switched on us yesterday right at the last second. But this one I waited. It was Cole Reagan's goal and he's a stud left. The Boston's been having a lot of trouble versus left. He thought that was a smash play. So they didn't put in 61 yesterday, so I want a nice full unit bet on that one. But yeah, we like them again today. Give me Kansas City on the Moneyline. Our next play is we're going to take Baltimore on the Moneyline versus the New York Yankees. Now we're back at Grayson Rodriguez. This guy's 11 and 3, 352 DRA. He's been a stud this year. He's pitched once versus the Yankees already. He went five innings, four hit zero runs. Love that. First is Lewis Gill. Now this rookie, super rookie at a New York, he's nine in five, he's got a 327 ERA. And he's kind of on pace for, you know, he's in the talks for rookie of the year. And he would be rookie of the year if he could just pitch against Boston every game. So for his last four starts, excuse me, over his last five starts, he's pitched twice versus Boston. And he's given up eight total hits, two total runs and struck him out 15 times. He's been an absolute beast, but the other three games, he's given up at least four runs. One of those games was versus Baltimore, where he lasted one in and given up seven hits and eight runs. Now, he's gives up the second walks in the league. He's got a real trouble with control. We've got a ton of heat, a ton of smoke, but when he's not, when it's not going right, it doesn't look good. And yeah, he really loses control of the ball. So I'm loving the fact that we can get a good price on Baltimore at home. And we're going to back Seth Lugo. So those are our three plays. And then I've got a couple of batter parlays I like as well. Now I'm going to run through them quick as I got to go leave for my kid's soccer. So these are all well researched. I love all these plays, but I don't got time to explain them all. We're going to take Gunnar Henderson and we're going to pair it with Trey Turner. Gunnar Henderson is two for two versus Louise Gill, Trey Turner is absolutely on fire. Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles, Trey Turner, Philadelphia Phillies. Our next one is we're going to take Lewis Arias of the San Diego Padres. And we're going to pair him with Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros. Our next play is we're going to go to Yordon Alvarez also has massive numbers today. And we're going to pair him with Stephen Quand, so Yordon Alvarez, Houston Astros, Stephen Quand, Cleveland Guardians. And our last play is we are going to take Yandy Diaz of the Tampa Bay Rays and we're going to pair that with Bobby Witt of the Kansas City Royals. So we've got three sides and totals. We've got four batter parlays. We're coming up another sick night last night. I know you're rocking with me, guys. Let's roll. (upbeat music) (upbeat music)
