(upbeat music) - Welcome in to the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Boulpin, and it's Tuesday July the 19th. All right, guys, we haven't done this in a while. We have to recap a losing day. Uh-oh, so we had eight winning days in a row, and I came to an end because we lost one unit, one whole unit yesterday. Not a big deal, if not the end of the world. We had five plays, we had two winners, three losers. We are still up 21 units over the last nine games now, nine days now. A lot of it, still absolutely on fire. Let's get into what we had yesterday. Let's go to the batter parlays. So we had Jameer Candelario to get one hit, and we paired that with Jose Miranda. Candelario was a good read. You went two for four, he crushed yesterday. Jose Miranda also two for five, so they both came in easily. Then we had Corey Seager to get one hit, and we paired that with Bryan Buxton, excuse me, Byron Buxton. Seager, absolutely on fire. Went two for five with a homer and a double. His lead off hit was a homer, so that was nice and easy. And Buxton, great read as well, went three for five with two doubles. So a beautiful call on those ones. And then we took Stephen Kwan. He did not come through for us. Cleveland had a weird game with Detroit yesterday. Nobody got hits, and we paired that with Jonathan India. And he did not come through. I was actually surprised about that. Since he ended up scoring six runs, but India was not a part of it. But we paired the right guys together because those two guys did not get a hit, and they were our losers. All right, let's get into our plays that we had yesterday. We had Cleveland Detroit over eight and a half. Yikes, this was a dead, bad read. So both of the pitchers that we were trying to attack actually pitched incredible. Montero, the young kid, went six innings, three hits, zero runs. On the other side, we were trying to attack versus Gavin Williams. Nope, five innings, four hits, zero runs. It was a one-nothing Detroit final. So we were way off on this one. Bad read, did not like that one. Our other play was Cincinnati and Colorado over nine and a half runs. Now, since he did their part, they had scored in six runs. It was a six-nothing final. Andrew Abbott pitched incredible for since he went seven innings, three hit, zero runs. But honestly, this didn't have a chance. It was two-nothing through seven innings. Since he ended up scoring four late runs to kind of make it look somewhat respectable, but nope, that was a bad read. So we went two wins, three losses yesterday. Actually, one of the boosts on Fandall, I really liked yesterday. So normally, I've talked about this in the past, that most of the boosts, when they put players together, once you dive into it, one of the two or three players in it is an absolute stay away from, and I never take those boosts, because they always try to throw in the one guy where, for name value, it looks good, but once you look into the underlining numbers of it, that guy is a terrible match-up or doesn't do well against it. But yesterday was the opposite. It was three guys I really liked. Corey Seager to get one hit. Yep, he was already on my list, so love that. Carlos Correa. So I liked Minnesota yesterday. That's why I had two Minnesota players. But I was a little worried about Carlos Correa, 'cause he just got plunked on the hand. So he had a finger problem. I knew he was playing in the game, but I didn't really want to put him on my card. But for a boost, I'm okay with that, so add him to it. And then the other one was Ellie Gila Cruz from Cincinnati. And again, we were attacking on Cincinnati. We liked the over. He was one for three versus his batter, so I was like, "Oh, shit." I actually really liked this boost, and they let you get 50 bucks on it, and it boosted to plus 190. So we lost on the podcast, but I did not lose. I actually had a pretty decent winning day yesterday. All right, let's get into some parlays today. Our first play is we're gonna take Milwaukee and Pittsburgh, so we're gonna go over eight and a half runs. Now, this is a little weird timing, because Pittsburgh hasn't actually posted their picture. It looks like it's gonna be one of two guys, and we love both of the options. Option A is they're gonna put up Martin Perez. Now, this guy's one in four. He's got a 472 ERA and a 1.54 whip. He's pitched once versus Milwaukee this year, and it went horribly wrong. He went five innings, giving up 11 hits, nine runs, and five home runs. And that was a 10 to two finals, so that game sailed over the number. Or Option B is gonna be Quinn Priestor, also a great option. He is 0 and 5 with a 488 ERA. He's also pitched once versus Milwaukee, gave up nine hits and four runs. So either one of those options I am totally okay with, but I've still already bet it now, and even not knowing it. But you guys can wait a little bit later in the day to see who they actually post. And then on the other side, they are posting Colin Ray for Milwaukee. Now, he's eight and two. He's got a 334 ERA and a 1.2 on whip. But he doesn't pitch well versus Pittsburgh. So he's pitched versus Pittsburgh already this year. It was an 8-6 final. Now, I keep mentioning these totals, because every time Pittsburgh and Milwaukee get together, they score a ton of runs against each other. I don't know what it is. They just score a ton of runs. So he actually pitched okay in that one. He ended up giving six hits and three runs. But Brian Reynolds went crazy in that game. He went three for three versus Colin Ray, and ended up going five for five with a homer in that game. And then the time before Colin Ray pitched versus Pittsburgh, it actually went horribly wrong. He went four innings. He gave up eight hits and six runs, and that was an 8-4 final. Again, sales over this number. And Reynolds went two for three versus Colin Ray, and I'm getting three hits in that game. Love that. So we've got a good history against the good pitcher, and it doesn't matter the history versus the other two Pittsburgh pitchers. This is a great recipe for getting us over 8 1/2 runs, and it's at a minus 105, so it's a good price too. So I like that a lot. Our next play is we're gonna take Boston and Oakland, and we're going over 9 1/2 runs. Now I got that at minus 125. Now I've seen on draft Kings, excuse me, on Fandall right now, you can get it minus 132. I like that the best price. Or you can try over 10 even. But I like it at that 9 1/2. Now Oakland's been playing some good baseball right now. They are four wins of their last six games, and they're putting up a lot of runs. And I mean a lot of runs. Their second last game, two games ago, they put up 19 runs on Baltimore in Oakland, which is a very, very pitcher-friendly part. And now they're going to Boston, which is a very hitter-friendly part. And it's great conditions for hitting today in Boston. It's a hot day, it's going to be like 85 degrees. And we've got about a 10-mile-an-hour win blowing right out to the Green Monster, which is the perfect spot. Is that Green Monster in Fenway Park? It's like lazy fly balls just whack off that wall where it would be an out in every other ballpark, but it's a double in Boston. Because you're not allowed to actually catch the ball off the Green Monster. Well, I mean, you can catch it. It just doesn't count as an out. So by the time it rolls all the way down the wall to the guy, the guy's already standing with a stand-up double. He's sitting on second base already. So, like, outs turn into doubles really easily there. And we got Brian Bello going today. Love that. We've been betting against Brian Bello a ton and overs against him a ton. He's eight and five. He's got a 5.19 ERA, a 1.43 whip. Love those numbers. He's pitch versus Oakland. Already once this year, he's lasted five innings, giving up five hits, four runs, two home runs. Love that numbers. And it's Joey Estes going on Oakland on the other side. Now, this young kid, he's three and three. He's got a 4.39 ERA. But the best handicap about this guy is he's a right-handed pitcher. Boston keeps having to go against these lefties. And they're getting eaten up. And then every time they go against the right, they're absolutely crushing. And especially Raphael Deverz. He's an absolute monster versus righties. And he's terrible versus lefties. So with these two pitchers, I really like this. And when you look at Fandall's prices for Boston to get hits, it's like Jared Duran's minus 4.10. Deverz is minus 3.40. Like, these are core's field type numbers. So the books really think they're going to get to Joey Estes. And I know Oakland can get to Brian Bello. So give me over 9 and 1/2 runs in the Boston Open game. All right, our next play is we're going to take Cleveland Indians, excuse me, Cleveland Guardians, and we're going to take them on the first five. So the first five innings. So you have to look around for the inning props or wherever you have to find it on your sports book. But we only want Cleveland on the first five innings. Now, kind of the reason behind this is I don't want to pay the minus 145 minus 150 price. When you do the Cleveland first five-- and make sure it's the money line. Now, make sure it's not the match betting, because the match betting means you have to win after five runs. So if it's tied, you lose your bet. But if you take Cleveland first five on the money line, it's minus 120. And if it's tied after five innings, you just get your money back. But I like this play. Now, it's Ben Lively going for Cleveland. He's 8 and 4. He's got a 314 ERA and a 1.16 whip. So good, underlying numbers. He's won his last three first five innings. So his last three starts, he's won the first five. All three of them love that. And we're going versus Kenta, my eight up. Now, this 36-year-old Japanese veteran, he's two and five, he's got a 671 ERA and a 1.52 whip. Terrible numbers. He's been bad for a couple of years now. Again, when he's older, pitchers, like we were talking about with Carrasco, it might be time to start bringing these guys out of the bullpen, because he's not been doing well. Now, his last four starts, he has lost the first five. His last three out of them and tied one of them. So he hasn't won a first five start in four straight. And he's also pitched versus Cleveland once this year. And he only lasted two winnings, because he gave up five hits and seven runs to this same Cleveland team. Love that. My eight's last start was versus Minnesota, gave up nine hits and nine runs and three innings. So this guy cannot, this guy gets rocked early and often, and we've got a Cleveland team much better than Detroit. Give me Cleveland first five minus 120. Love that play. All right, our fourth and final play before we get to our batter parlays, is Kansas City Royals on the Moneyline. Now, I like this number. We're getting him at a plus 105. Now, it's Michael Walker going for Kansas City. Now, he's five and six, got a 374 ERA, so decent underlying numbers. Now, he's only given up one run in each of his last three starts. So his last three starts, he's only given up one run. And over his last eight starts, he hasn't given up more than two. It's two or less over his last eight starts. Love that. Last time he pitched versus the St. Louis team. I lasted seven innings, given up six hits and two runs, striking out six. So, decent history versus them. Love that. And we're going versus Andre Palante. Now, this kid's good. He's four and three, but he's got a 4.0 ERA and a 1.44 whip. So the underlying numbers are worse than our boy Michael Walker over there. But he's very erratic with these starts. Like, he's either really good or really bad. And I think I might have found the pattern for it. His last time out, he gave up seven. He went seven innings, four hits, one run. And that was versus Pittsburgh. And then the time before that, he gave up seven hits and five runs versus San Fran. So, it gets rocked. Time before that, four hits, zero runs versus sincey. The time before that is six hits, six runs versus Houston. So, it seems like every time he pitches versus a bottom 15 offense, like Pittsburgh or sincey, he does well. And then any time he goes versus a top 15 offense, like San Francisco or Houston, he gets rocked. Kansas City, top 15 offense. We got a better pitcher. We've got a better offense. Give me Kansas City plus 105 on the Moneyline. Love that play. All right, so those are our four sides and totals. And then I got four batter parlays I like. So, we're going on the hook for eight plays today, guys. We got that big one unit to get back. Getting, we're smashing and I love all these plays. All right, our next play is going to be Corey Seager to get one hit. All right, this guy, self-explanatory. This guy's on a 13-game hitting streak. He's got three two hit games in a row. Just came off a homer and a double last night. This guy's on fire. And we're going to pair it with Brett Rooker of the Oakland A's. Now, we haven't used this guy once all year, but again, we're going versus Brian Bello. It's a very high total. There's supposed to be a ton of hits and a ton of runs in this game. He's got to hit in 10 out of his last 12 games. In that stretch, he's got two three hit games in his last five. So, he's seeing the ball really well. You pair Seager and Rooker together and you get a minus 121. Our next play is Yandy Diaz of the Tampa Bay Rays. And we're going to pair that with Aussie Albeys of the Atlanta Braves. Now Diaz is three for nine versus Carlos Rondon. He loves left-handed pitching. He's got three 36 versus left-handed pitching. And he's got to hit in 22 of his last 25 games. Love me some Yandy Diaz. And we're going to pair it with Aussie Albeys, who's four for eight. He's betting 500 versus Zach Gallant with a homerun. And it's in Arizona. They're on the road. So, they get those extra hit bats. If it goes that way, nice hitter-friendly park in Arizona. You pair those two guys together. You get a minus 111. Like that price. Our next one is we're going to take Stephen Kwan. Now, he let us down yesterday. But we're now going versus Kenta Maeda. We're attacking versus this Japanese guy out of Detroit. Now, he's betting 333 versus Miranda. He's got to hit in 20 of his last 25 games. And Miranda gives up 10.57 hits per nine. So, I love that. And we're going to pair that with Jose Miranda. So, Cleveland Guardians is Stephen Kwan and Jose Miranda, the Minnesota Twins. This is our new best friend. He's on a 13-game hitting streak. He's absolutely on fire. He's got 14 hits over his last five games. So, he's just absolutely crushing right now. You pair those two guys together. You get a minus 121. And our last and final play. I love this one. We're going to take Gunnar Henderson. We're going to pair a Gunnar Henderson to Baltimore Orioles. And we're going to pair this one with Brian Reynolds. This is a nice one. So, Gunnar Henderson got to hit in 24 of his last 28 games. It's actually a really hit or friendly conditions today in Baltimore as well. As there's wind blowing out to left field. It's another hot day. And we're going to pair that with Brian Reynolds. Now, this guy is five for his last six versus Colin Ray. He's absolutely sees this guy on fire. And let's not forget he had the longest hitting streak of the majors this year of a 25 games. So, this guy's an absolute stud. And I had to get this on DraftKings. They hadn't posted it onto Fandall yet as they're still not sure about the starting pitcher. So, they won't release either sides of the batter props until both pitchers are there. So, if you're on Fandall, you can wait a little bit longer, but you'll be able to get Gunnar Henderson, Brian Reynolds together. I got it on DraftKings and it was a minus 111. So, a good price on it too. All right, guys. We got to start a new streak. Kind of. I still smashed yesterday. We're still on fire. So, we're seeing the diamond really well. I am loving this baseball season. And if you guys are rocking with me, let's roll. (upbeat music) (upbeat music)
