(upbeat music) - Welcome into the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Bullpin. And it's Canada Day. July the 1st, happy Canada Day to my Canadian brothers and sisters out there. Appreciate the love and the support. And yeah, have a fun, safe Canada Day out there, guys. All right, let's talk about some plays from yesterday. We smashed yesterday, love it. We had some pretty sick reads and a lot of them came through. Let's talk about our plays. We took Kansas City on the money line. This was a bold race. They led this start to finish. It was 6-0 for most of the game. Ended up a 6-2 final. Great call. We ripped that one. Our next plays, we took the Minnesota Twins on the money line. Now they were up 3-0, but Seattle tied it up 3-3 just for Trevor Larnick to hit a two-run bomb in the eighth for us to come through for a 5-3 winner. Boom, that's 2-4-2. And then we had Texas, Baltimore, over 8 and 1/2 runs. This sailed over. Not a big fan of cold urban as he got rocked. And it was an 11-2 Texas win, so 13 runs. Sailed over that. It was kind of the coming out party for Wyatt Langford as he hit for the cycle yesterday and four RBIs. So that kid had a monster day. So he went 3-0 on our plays. And then we had some batter props that we won as well. We took Marcelo Zuna and we paired it with Jonathan India. And that came through. Oh, Zuna got his in the first. India, it was his in the third. India's just on fire right now. And then we took Vlady Guerrero and we paired it with Ryan Mountcastle. Now Vlady got his hit. And Ryan Mountcastle, so they sat him. So he's not great versus left-handed pitching. However, if you're basing this on the numbers, he was great against this left-handed pitcher. He was four for nine with two homers and two RBI, excuse me, in two doubles. So if this is all number-based strategies, this guy's numbers are sick against this guy. So why not play him? Maybe you wouldn't have lost 11-2 when you take out one of your superstars 'cause he's not as good against left-handed pitching. So that was a bit strange. So they void him off and they win the Vlady bet. So like on a $100 bet, it ended up winning 40 bucks. So like 0.4 of a unit for me. So we'll take that. We had one losing play yesterday and that was the Brian Reynolds and Yandy Diaz's street brothers. Brian Reynolds, 25 game streak is over. He didn't get a hit yesterday. Yandy Diaz got back on the bike. So he missed his the other day, but he's starting a new streak now. So yeah, we went 4.4 and one yesterday. So we're up about three and a half units. Love that, take that all day, every day. All right, now it's a short card today. There's only three games today, but I like one of them. And unfortunately, we're taking Houston on the money line versus the Canadian Toronto Blue Jays. I gotta do it, we always bet with our mind, not with our hearts. We're gonna back Hunter Brown. Now this guy had a rough start to the season. He had an 11.89 ERA in April 'cause he just got lit up his first couple of starts and he's been dragging those numbers down ever since. In June, he had four starts. He gave up one run over his last four starts. He has three shutouts and one one run game. That is a elite and it's Houston going and they are nine in one in their last 10. Love that look. Now it's Yariel Rodriguez going for the J's plus the bullpen. Rodriguez is 0-2, he's got a 594 ERA and a 1.92 whip, not great. Now the J's bats have been coming alive. However, it's not really resulting in wins. There's still three and six over their last 10. And most of that's been from Vlady Guerrero who's just on a tear right now. However, he got hit by a pitch yesterday. So he stayed in the game, he wasn't overly hurt but they pulled him about one or two bats later. They pinch hit for him. He went in for X-rays, X-rays came back negative but he's beaten up so he may not go at all but even if he does go, he's not gonna be 100% and we're gonna take our best player out of the game to have Houston. So I like Houston on the money line. Now there's actually an arbitrage spot if you really want. Now an arbitrage is just when two sites have the same, have quite differing odds. So essentially you can bet a certain amount of money on both websites, on other draft Kings and Fandall to make sure that you guarantee yourself the win money. So a little confusing. So draft Kings has a boost to boost Toronto to plus 200. The problem is it's a max $20 bet so this doesn't really matter but for some people it may. So if you bet $20 on draft Kings, you bet the max, you could win $60. So if you take then $35 and bet that at minus 142 which is the price that I have Houston at on Fandall, you'll win $60 if you bet 35. So essentially you're betting $55 between the two sites and either way doesn't matter either outcome, you'll win $60 back. So you're guaranteed a $5 free winner if you do that. So granted it's, you know, it's a $20 max if it was, you know, if you're able to bet $550 between the two sites to win $50, now you're starting to talk about it or $5,500 to win a free $500, that's a little more worth it. For me, it's not exactly worth it. I don't care but, you know, some of you guys have different bank rolls and different stuff like that. So it is what it is. If that's something you want to do by all means, you can do that, just do that strategy. It has to be $20 and $35 or $2 and $3 and 50 cents. Whatever your combination is, but that's the math where you have to do it that way to make sure that you win money no matter what. I got a little shout out. Shout out to all the boys from Pickering from the P.O. listening. I appreciate the support and the lessons and don't worry, Taylor, you're not the only one listening from the bathroom every morning. I got a bunch of buddies that do the same thing taking that work bathroom break. Now, if this podcast keeps going the way it's going, we're gonna, you know, have 10.32 a.m. is national go to the bathroom break time. So everyone can get their podcast listening. Love that stuff. Yeah, so I appreciate the support. And I appreciate the offer for some Tiger Bomb sending me from my back. God, speak it up. So if you're never gonna get your back any better if at two o'clock in the morning, you're woken up by your five-year-old son who's balling his eyes out and puking everywhere. Oh, who gets the flu on Canada Day the night before? So just an absolute nightmares, a wife's dealing with him. I'm on clean up duty. So, you know, 30 minutes later, laundry's in, all this stuff's all cleaned up. We got them all settled in the master bedroom with the wife only for 10 minutes later, for him to do it all over again in the master bedroom. Yes. You need sleep anyway. Not me, forget it. It was a bit of a rough night actually yesterday. So I go to this vape store. I'm one of those dummies who vapes. And when you go to cash out or whatever, they ask you for your name. And he's like, "Oh, yeah, so a name, please." So like Alex Boulpin, kind of stops for a sec. And he's like, "Do you know Gorilla Sports, the podcast?" So I got a smile on my face and I hit him with a, "If you're rocking with me, let's roll." And he's like, "Bro, that's you." So that was kind of funny. The vape store guys are recognizing the podcast. So I turn around, I'm wearing some Gorilla sports gear. So I show him the logo on the back. He's like, "That's sick, buddy." So tell them, you know, appreciate it, nice to meet you, buddy. And appreciate the support. So actually with these sweaters that I'm rocking. So a lot of people that do what I do, either making podcasts or doing pics, things like that, they do a subscription based model. And I don't want to do that. I think this is all about community. I think it's all about keeping everybody versus the sports book. So I don't want to have to charge anyone for listening to the podcast. So I came up with the idea to make some gear. So I put out some sweaters, I'm gonna have some t-shirts, stuff like that. And then this way I, you know, can have some sort of income coming in out of this thing. Because I mean, don't get me wrong, we're winning sports bets, which is great, but this is a lot of time and a lot of effort. Trust me, just ask my wife. She is over this thing already. We've been doing this for four months and it's, yeah, she's already over it. But yeah, so I'm gonna, I'm probably just gonna put some stuff out on Facebook actually. I gotta remember, I'm a little older than most of you guys listening. So my IG account's pretty lame and I definitely don't have a TikTok account. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna, you know, take some pictures of some of the gear, put up some prices, stuff like that. And you can DM me on Facebook. If you wanna support the cause, that's super cool. Or, you know, a lot of people listening, either know somebody who knows somebody who knows me. So if you wanna sweater, a t-shirt, something like that, hit me up and, you know, tell me some sizes and where you live and we'll send some stuff out to you. And then this way, you know, I can have a little income coming in my way and I can keep doing this for free. So I don't have to charge anyone. I definitely don't wanna do that. That's, you know, kind of not what this is about, not what this idea is about. But, you know, a couple hours every day, every night for the last, you know, 120 episodes, is a little taxing. So to, you know, have something come back my way would be super cool as well. So we'll talk going forward in the future, but yeah, just, you know, hit me up on Facebook or add me as a friend and just Alex Bullpin on Facebook. And we'll do it that way. And then, you know, then we can, you guys can rock something because you're getting something out of it, right? You're not just purchasing a subscription. You're getting a pretty dope sweater. These, these sweaters are pretty cool. The logo on it's pretty sick and it's actually a good conversation starter. People are like, "What's that?" And then boom, you're into something anyway. So that's kind of my idea behind all of this stuff. So we got the one play going today, guys. We're taking Houston Astros on the Moneyline. And actually, I got a half unit play as well. I already bet this. Now this was on DraftKings and it's the HRR, the hits plus runs plus RBIs. And I took a bet on Yordon Alvarez of the Houston Astros. This guy's on fire right now. Houston in general is just putting up a ton of runs. So now the hits plus runs plus RBIs. I mean, if he gets two sack flies or hits a homer and you'll get a, you know, if he hits two hits, any sort of those combinations that come through, that's a winner. Now that comes at a minus 155 on DraftKings. So the price keeps going up. I saw it at about one, minus 140 earlier when I bet it. But also, if you don't have DraftKings and you're just on FanDuel, I don't mind over one and a half bases. So plus two plus bases or over one and a half bases, wherever you find it on FanDuel. But yeah, the total bases, that comes at a minus 105. Like I said, this guy's got a hot bat right now. And he's going versus this, you know, bullpen plus the aerial Rodriguez combination from Toronto. They're the road team. So I got a feeling he's going to get us two bases, but I do like Houston on the money line. And yeah, so we'll talk about some merchandise going forward guys. And I know you're rocking with me, especially after that sick night last night. So let's roll Canada. (upbeat music) [MUSIC PLAYING]
