(upbeat music) - Welcome into the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Boulpin, and it's Sunday, June 30th. All right, guys, we got a recap on losing day yesterday. We gave two units back to the book on the podcast yesterday. We had two totals that we lost, both of them, and then we split on our batter parlays. All right, let's get into our picks. So we had Cincinnati and St. Louis, and we took them under eight and a half runs. This was going well. Zero runs through two innings, halfway through the game. It's two to one for Cinci. And then in the fifth inning, it all went downhill from there. Since the ends of loading the bases, and there's one out, excuse me, and there's a tailor-made double play to Nolan Arnado, and he blows it. He gets zero outs out of the play, and it just went snowballing from there. So they ended up pulling out sunny gray. They ended up giving six runs up in that inning. They go through three pitchers. It just goes horribly wrong from there. So go get me wrong. It was a nine to four final, so it wasn't even close. But you take those six runs off the board. It's a four, three final. I get that that's not exactly the signs of how this works, but it definitely would have been a different ball game. Had they not have to run through all these pitchers, and then they started scrambling. So obviously it didn't go well after that, but yeah, nine to four final. Honestly, I would take this play again. I liked the look on this. It was just one mistake. This stuff happens in sports and in sports betting. But yeah, it cost us a bet this time. Our other play was Philly and Miami. We took them over eight and a half runs. Now this was just a bad call. I wouldn't take this one again. Yeah, Philly's been having some trouble with Miami. They lost two out of the three games versus them. And when you have two out of your best four hitters, not in the lineup, it makes a big difference. pitchers can kind of pitch around the superstars. So Alec Baum went 0-4, trade turner 0-4-4. Didn't go well. So yeah, we lost that one. There was a three to two final, so it wasn't even close. So we lost both of our total plays, and then we split on our batter props. So we took Brian Reynolds and Yandy Diaz, the Streak brothers and Yandy Diaz, a streak has come to an end. Reynolds got his, but Jake Irvin of Washington, he won hit Tampa Bay. And while they ended up getting two hits total, but Diaz wasn't one of them. So he went 0-4, so his streak is done, but still 19 out of 20 games, ain't bad at all. And then we took trade turner and Raphael Devers to get one hit each, and they both went 0-4. Trade turner, we talked about, we went 0-4 versus Miami and Raphael Devers. Yeah, this San Diego team, excuse me, is roughing up Boston, in Boston. I think they're having fun hitting in that really tiny ballpark compared to their home field in San Diego, where it's very pitcher friendly. Our two winners, we took Boba Shet, and we took Jonathan India. But Shet came home pretty easily, he looked pretty good out there. And Jonathan India, this guy is just on fire. This guy's got two hits and eight games in a row, that is a nice streak. And the numbers aren't changing on this guy either. 'Cause I mean, like analytically, he's not supposed to be doing this, but he just keeps getting out there and keeps slapping singles around. When actually doubles and homers, he's actually, he's hitting really well. And then our other winner, we had Gunnar Henderson, and we paired that with Steven Kwan. And this was a pretty easy one, they both got in pretty quickly, pretty easily. So we split on the books on our batter parlays. So we ended up giving back two units. There was a couple of boosts I end up taking advantage of. There was a Vlady Guerrero plus Aaron Judge, and they boosted that from like a minus 110-115. Up to a plus 140. So that was kind of nice 'cause I let you bet 50 bucks on that one, so that one kind of saved a couple of bucks. And then there was a UFC boost where you took Pereira to win by either KO or TKO at all, man, he kicked that guy's head off. So that was a plus 170, but I think they let you bet 25 bucks or something like that. So anyway, we lost a couple of bucks yesterday, it wasn't the end of the world. Let's get into some plays today. All right, I got Kansas City on the Moneyline versus Cleveland. They've won two out of three games so far versus Cleveland. Now Cleveland loves left-handed pitching and that's when they got to Cole Reagan's last game. But now we got right-hander Seth Lugo going, he's 10 and two, he's got a 229 ERA and a 1.05 whip. Love those numbers, pitching really well. And he's going versus Logan Allen, who has it been pitching well? He's eight and three, but he's got a 572 ERA at 1.55 whip. He's giving up among the league's worst 18 home runs. His last game versus Baltimore, he's giving up nine hits and six runs. He's giving up three home runs last game. Give me Kansas City on the Moneyline and it comes in at about a minus 130. So I like that number, I like that total. Our next play is we're going to take the Minnesota twins on the Moneyline and we're back in Joe Ryan, their ace in Minnesota. Now he's five and five, he's got a 331 ERA and a 0.96 whip. Love those numbers. And he's going versus Luis Castillo. Now he's six and nine, he's got a 379 ERA, a 1.21 whip. Now he's been rocked his last two starts. Losing up both, giving up nine runs in the process. Seattle's a bottom 10 offense right now, they've lost seven of their last 10 games. And we're getting Minnesota as an even money on the road. I like that look. Give me Minnesota on the Moneyline. Our third play is we're going to take Baltimore in Texas, and we're going to take them over eight and a half runs. Now that eight and a half is at minus 130. I kind of prefer that than the nine flat, or even taking it over the nine and a half and getting plus money. It's Andrew Heany going, he's two and nine, he's got a 4.17 ERA, and Baltimore has a pretty good history versus Andrew Heany, especially Ryan Mountcastle. This guy's four for nine with two home runs and two doubles. Love that. And it's Cole Irvin going for Baltimore. Now he had a blazing start to the year, but he's been getting rocked. He's lost two out of his last three starts, giving up 10 hits and eight runs to Cleveland, and then seven hits and four runs to Atlanta. And I mean, if they didn't score 17 runs versus the Yankees the other day, he probably would have lost three in a row as he gave up five hits and five runs to them. He's got a 11.6 barrel rate. That is bad, 16.9 whiff rate. Those are both bottom five numbers in the league. So he's not looking great. I can see Texas getting to him, and I know Baltimore is going to get to Andrew Heany. So I like that over eight and a half as well. And then I got a couple of batter parlays that I like. I'm going to go back to my boy, Jonathan India. Now he's got two hits and eight in a row. He's on an 11 game hitting streak. He's two and five versus Lancelin. Love that. And we're going to go back to our old boy, Marcello Zuna. Love it. Now he's batting four 44 verses. Oh, right, my apparent boy, Bailey Foulter, who's lost his last three starts in a row. But yeah, he bats really well versus him. And when you pair the two of those together, you get a minus 110, I like that. Oh, Zuna's actually the bigger favor than this. He's a minus 300 to get a hit. And then we're going to go right back to the streak brothers. Brian Reynolds, 25 games in a row. How do you go wrong with this guy? And again, you always get a great price on him. I love it. And we're going to pair him with the Andy Diaz. Andy Diaz, 19 out of 20 games he's gotten a hit. And he's going versus Patrick Corbett. Now although he's cleaned it up a little bit, he's still at a 10.52 hits per nine. And Andy Diaz has seen him once before. He's one for three versus him. So I like that look, and then our third and final one, we're going to take Ryan Mountcastle. And we're going to pair it with Vlady Guerrero. Now Mountcastle of Baltimore, he's four for nine. He's just absolutely crushing with two homers, two doubles, versus Andrew Heaney, he loved that. And Vlady has just been on fire himself. He's got two hits and seven of his last eight games. And he's going versus Garrett Cole, who's had two starts for the Yankees so far. And they haven't gone great. He's 0-1-1. He's got a 9.0 ERA. So give me Vlady Guerrero and his hot bat together. You pair the two of those together and you get a minus 118. So I like that as well. So we've got three plays and we've got three batter parlays. All right, guys, if you're rocking with me, let's roll. [MUSIC PLAYING] (upbeat music)
