(upbeat music) - Oh, welcome in to the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Boulpin. And it's Monday, June the 24th. That's how we close out the weekend, guys. Let's go, four and one on Saturday. Four and one on Sunday. We had an eight and two weekend. Gave a couple of units back on Friday, but don't worry, we got it all back. And then some love that. Another four and one night. Let's get into the plays. So we took Washington on the Moneyline. Now, Jake Irving pitched well. He went six innings. Gave up three hits, one run in 10 Ks at Coors Field. You'd think that'd be enough. But on the other side, Kyle Freeland with his awful, godly numbers, he actually pitched amazing. He went six innings, gave up one hit, zero runs and four Ks. So we're down one nothing, top nine. We end up tying it up. And then we end up taking the lead. We're up to one. So it goes bottom nine. They're first two battle patterns. They get back-to-back singles. Oh God, here we go. But we scrape and we crawl our way out of it. And we end up winning that one, two to one. Love a good comeback story. Our one loser, we took Baltimore on the Moneyline. This didn't start out good. We actually had a great closing line value on this. When we bet it, it was at plus 108 in the morning. And the whole world ended up betting on Baltimore as well. Which is never really that good. It ended up closing to go to a minus one 10. So we got about 20 cents of line value. Love that. However, it didn't go well. Albert Suarez got destroyed in the first inning, giving up four runs. And Baltimore just couldn't really recover. It was an eight one final. Which is a little strange. Because all of our Baltimore batters did really well. They all had great history against the pitcher. And yeah, but they just couldn't string it together. So they ended up losing eight one. That was our one loser on the day. Our next winner on the day, we took the J's over eight and a half runs. This crushed over in the fourth inning. This was a no doubter. Tons of home runs. Lots of score. And there's a weird rain delay in this one. In the third inning, it's bases loaded. Zero out in mid batter. They call a rain delay. I mean, I've seen rain delays, mid inning. Or, you know, I know they usually kind of try and do it in between half innings. We had mid batter. They call a rain delay. It's a little strange. But they came back out and it ended up being a six to five finals, so we sailed over that eight and a half runs. Love that bad boys. We went two and one on a regular plays. And then we went two and oh on our hitter parlays. We took Jose Ramirez and we paired him with Ryan Mountcastle. And they both got two hits each. Love that. And then we took Harper and Adley Rochman to get a hit each. And Harper got two and Rochman got one. So love that as well. So yeah, four and one. Can't complain about that eight and two over to the weekend. Lots of money in the accounts. Let's go. All right, let's get into the plays today. It's only a 12 game slate today. So there's not a ton of plays that I love. But there's a couple that I do. We're going to go to Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. And we're going to take it over nine and a half runs. Now, both of the batters on either side have seen these pitchers really well. Now, it's Carson Spears going for Cincinnati. And it's his second career start. But his first career start was versus this same Pittsburgh team. He gave up seven hits, four runs in a very pitcher-friendly park at PNC Field in Pittsburgh. And now he's going out to Cincinnati, which is a very hitter-friendly park. So all of those long doubles and big, long hits he was given up are going to turn into home runs, which are going to turn into runs. Now, it's Bailey Falter going for Pittsburgh. He's three and five. He's got a 394 ERA. His last two starts in Cincinnati have not gone well. He gave up nine hits and eight runs his last time. And then the time before that, he gave up eight hits and five runs. And we're looking to get these guys over nine and a half, liking that. Versus Spears, Brian Reynolds went two for three with two doubles. Rowdy Teles, two for three. O'Neill Cruz, one for three. McCutchen, one for two. So they all hit this guy really well. And on the other side, since he's got a ton of history against Bailey Falter-- excuse me, Bailey Falter. Spencer Steers, five for eight with a homer, back in 625. Tyler Stevenson, five for 11 with a homer. Candelario, two for five with a homer. Ellie Dilla Cruz, one for three. So they've all kind of seen him really well. We've got great hitting conditions today in Cincinnati Park. So I think we're getting over nine and a half runs. All right, our other play is we are going to take the Kansas City Royals and the Miami Marlins. And we're going under nine and a half, our second under of the podcast. I don't like this at nine and a half. I think this should probably be at eight and a half. Kids at City's offense has been splattering. They've scored five total runs over their last five games. Yikes, one run a game over their last five. They got shut out and back to back games versus Texas. Now granted, it is Rodney Munoz going for Miami. This guy's not good. He's one. He's one and two. He's got a 576 ERA. And he actually gives up a lot of home runs. However, this is Coughlin Stadium. And this is one of the biggest out fields that we've talked about before. So it's tough to hit home runs there. And even if Kansas City gets back off of it, I can't see Miami do in there half of this. It's Cole Reagan's going. He's four and five. He's got a 313 ERA and a 1.15 whip. Got 109 strikeouts on the years. So he's got tons of swing and miss stuff versus this terrible Miami offense. His last four starts at home in Kansas City have been lights out. He gave up three hits in one run versus Seattle. Five hits, one run versus San Diego. One hit, zero runs versus Detroit. Two hits, zero runs versus Oakland. So not bad at all. He's giving up two runs over his last four home starts. Love that. Going versus this Miami offense. They're 29th and run score. They're 21st and hits. 22nd and average, 29th and on base percentage. 29th and slugging percentage. You get the idea. This offense is terrible. So even if Kansas City can get five or six runs versus Munoz, I can't see Miami getting four or five to do their part on the other side of this. Give me under nine and a half runs. So those are our two plays. And then I got two batter parlays I like as well. So we are going to go and take Bryan Reynolds. This guy is on a 20 game hitting streak. This is the biggest one in the majors. This guy's absolutely on fire. He's seen Carson Spears once before. He went two for three with two doubles. So give me Reynolds to get one hit. And we're going to pair that with Raphael Devers. Now these go versus Chris Bassett at home in Boston. But he's four for eight versus Bassett. And the last time Bassett played versus Boston, he got two hits in that game as well. So when you pair those two together, it's a minus 124. So I do like that price. And then my other hitter parlay. We're going back to our boy, Stephen Kwan. He's going versus the lefty Povitch in Baltimore. And he backs 439 versus left handed pitching. He's got one hit in 22 out of his last 25 games. Give me Stephen Kwan to get one hit. And we're going to pair that with Bryce Harper. He's on an eight game hitting streak. He's got a hit in 13 out of his last 14 games. He's batting in Detroit versus Casey Meis. And Casey Meis gives up 10.57 hits per nine. That's a beautiful combo. And you pair those together. And you get them at a minus 121. So we got the two batter parlays. We got one over. And we got one undergoing today, guys. And if you're rocking with me, let's roll. (upbeat music) (upbeat music)
