(upbeat music) - Welcome into the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Boulpin, and it's Saturday, June 22nd. All right, guys, we took a bath yesterday. We lost three units back to the books yesterday, yikes. That's back-to-back losing days. I don't love this. We were up six units, and now we're only up two units on the week, so we gotta change that today, but let's get into our picture from yesterday. So we took Boston on the money line, and they were kinda trading solo home runs back and forth in that hitter-friendly, sincey park. Yeah, it was 3-2 after three innings with five solo home runs. So it was kinda that score until the seventh, when Boston committed three errors in the inning. They ended up giving up two more runs, which they didn't have to give up any of those. They ended up losing five to two, so we were right there, but ended up losing that one. We took Washington on the money line. That was our one winner of the day. That was a good read. Dakota Hudson got absolutely destroyed. He lasted three innings, gave up 11 hits, and eight runs. Washington was up nine to one at one point. Colorado kinda made a bit of a comeback, but it was an 11-5 final, so it wasn't close. No sweat winner, love that one. And we had a couple of leans going, a couple of half units. We took Philly, Arizona, over nine and a half runs. We lost that by the hook. It was a 5-4 final. There's five home runs in the game, and it still didn't make it over. But yeah, that was a little unlucky. Alec Baum and a couple of the other Philly bats didn't show up at all for this game, so didn't help our cause, both in our hitter front and on the total front. So we lost that by the hook. Same thing with Toronto, Cleveland. We needed them over nine and a half runs. Cleveland scored seven runs in the second inning alone, but that's all they got. It was a seven-one final. The J's got one solo home run out of flatty, but like usual, they just left guys on base. The base is loaded in the ninth inning, trying to make a comeback, choked it away, couldn't score another run for us to get us over. So we lost both of our leans for a unit. We split on our money lines, and then we lost all of our batter props. Bobby Witt, 0-4, we paired him with Alec Baum, also 0-4, yikes. So neither of those guys got a hit, and then we had Gunnar Henderson. He went three for five. He had a great game back-to-back three hit games. In a wild one in Houston, it was 11 to 14. That was quite the hitter game there. And then Steve Quand of rarity. He went 0-4 for his 14-game hitting streak, toast. And he couldn't get a hit yesterday for us. And that would have been nice, 'cause that would have at least split the books for us. Instead, we lose three units. All right, I got some plays that I like today. We got some ground to catch back up, and there's gonna be some similarity from yesterday, 'cause I still like these odds, and I still like these reads. So we are gonna go take Cleveland and Toronto, and we're gonna go over the eight and a half. So they've dropped it one run. I like that. Now, this is the same matchup as last Sunday. It's Barrios versus Ben Lively. And last Sunday, they scored 13 runs in Toronto, not the best hitter-friendly park, and now we're going to Progressive Field in Cleveland. We got the wind blowing out, center right. It's a really hot day, so it's gonna be very hitter-friendly, love that. Now Barrios has given up 14 home runs on the year. That's tied for the league, well, I guess league lead, but league worst in the majors. So I think Cleveland can take advantage of him. And also, Cleveland has great hitter props against Barrios. And on the other side, Toronto actually hits Ben Lively really well as well. So I think we got a real good chance again over eight and a half runs. So that's our first play. Our second play is we're going right back to Boston. We're taking Boston on the money line. This time we got Nick Pavetti. He's one of their best pitchers. He's four and four. He's got a 388 ERA. Boston over the last 10, they're still seven and three, so they're still on a little bit of a winning run here. And since he's got Frankie Montes going, not their best pitcher, he's three and five. He's got a 4-62 ERA. His last timeout, he got rocked by the Cubs, giving up five hits in four runs and a quick three inning outing. Since he's four and six in their last 10, and we're getting Boston at a minus 125 road favorite, I like that look. Give me Boston on the money line. And then our last play is we're going to go right back to Philly in Arizona. And we're going to take it over eight and a half runs. Now again, they've dropped this full run. So I do like that spot. It's Tommy Henry going for Arizona. This guy's two and two. He's got a 623 ERA and a 1.7 whip. So I think the Philly bats are going to just eat this guy for breakfast. And then it's Zach Wheeler going. And he's eight and four with a 284 ERA. His last timeout versus Boston, he got destroyed though. Give him nine hits, eight runs, and four home runs. Now we've got a ton of wind blowing out dead center in Philly again today. So I think these Arizona bats can get to Philly. And I know the Philly bats are going to get to Tommy Henry. So I like the Philly Arizona over eight and a half runs. And I've got a couple of hitter parlays I like as well. We're going to take Juan Soto, the New York Yankees, to get one hit. Now he's going versus Atlanta and Charlie Morton, but he's got a sick history against him. He's seven for 11 with three homers against him. And we need him to get one hit. This is priced really strange. And then we're going to pair him with Steve Quand. Now great. He went 0 for 4 yesterday, but the last time versus Barrios, he had a four hit game. He sees Barrios a ton. And he's got great numbers versus him. And when you pair the two of those together, it's a minus 101 because they've priced Soto really smally. So I like that combination big time. And then we're going to take Raphael Deverz of Boston to get one hit. Now he's five for 11 versus Montez in Sensi. I think he's got a real good shot at getting a hit. And we're going to pair him with Christian Yellich. Now he hit one for us. The other day, love that. And they're going versus Randy Vasquez. Now this is the guy that we loved Philly bats against the other day. And he got absolutely destroyed. He did have an 11.98 hits per 9. And now it's up to 13.44 hits per 9. As he gave up 12 hits and six runs before they yanked him in that last Philly game. So when you pair Raphael Deverz of Boston, Christian Yellich of Milwaukee, you get those two together at a minus 106. So great numbers on all of those. So we've got three plays and we've got two batter parlays. I love them all today. We got some catching up to do. And I feel like we're going to. So guys, if you're rocking with me, let's roll.
