(upbeat music) - Oh, welcome into the Gorilla Sports Podcast. I'm your host, Alex Boulpin, and it's Friday, June 21st. All right, guys, let's get into it. We had a couple of plays yesterday. We had a couple of painful losers yesterday. We only lost a couple of bucks, but oh, man, this could have gone either way. So, let's get into it. We had Minnesota on the Moneyline. This was a close game. It's 2-2, the versus Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay gets one in the top of the eighth inning, and then three in the top of the ninth. Yek, so we're stuck four runs. Bottom nine, let's see what we can do. All right, lead off home run. Okay, now we're stuck three runs. And after a double and a walk later, we hit a three run home or to tie the game. Let's go like roller coaster ride here. Just absolutely down in the dumps too. Oh my God, we just tied it and we're going extra innings. So in the extras, top of the 10, Tampa Bay scores their run. That's kind of normal. You're supposed to score at least one in extras. And then in the bottom of the ninth, we get a routine sack fly, where we're supposed to advance from second to third, except that's not what happened. Jose Siri throws an absolute bullet to third and guns him out. So double play to start the bottom of the 10th. Just took all the wind out of their sails. They end up just, yeah, not scoring. So it ends up being a seven-six final. Ah, that was painful. So we lose that one. And then our other Moneyline play, we had Milwaukee on the Moneyline. Now, I was watching this game. It started off great. We score one in the top of the first. And then in the bottom of the first, they got two guys on and there's one out. And they hit a perfect ground ball right to the second baseman. Let's turn two, but he fumbles it and bumbles it. Can't get it out of his glove. So they only get one run. They can't, excuse me, they only get one out. They can't turn the double play. Next batter's Manny Machado, boom, three run homer. They can pay for the mistake. And then boom, another homer solo to follow that. So they score four kind of unearned runs where we could have been out of that inning. But we crawl our way back into it. We score one in the eighth, two in the ninth. And we tie it up, six-six again, another roller coaster. Only for Jake Croninworth to blast a 446, no doubter. Just destroys this ball for a walk-off. We lose that one, seven to six as well. Ah, God. Oh, the love of sports betting. So a couple of roller coasters up and down. We got crushed there. Our batter parlays went well. We took Steve Kwan and we took Christian Yellich to get one hit each. They both came through, so that knocked off one of our Moneyline losers. And then we had Bobby Whitten, Carlos Correa, to get one hit each. Bobby Whitt came through, he got his hit, but Carlos Correa didn't start, so they voided him off. So they only pay out on just the Bobby Whitten. I think he was like minus three-twenty or something. So they paid, you know, a quarter of a unit or something. So we lost about three quarters of one unit, not the end of the world, but still. That could have gone a lot better for sure. Still right there on it. All right, I got some plays I really like today. Let's get into 'em. We're gonna take Boston on the Moneyline. We're going with the Red Sox. And they've got five wins in a row and seven out of their last eight. So they're playing some really good baseball right now. And we're gonna back-cutter Crawford. You know, he's three and six with a 354 ERA, but he's had a tough stretch of pitchers. Like that three and six record isn't too pretty, but he just had to go up against Zach Wheeler in Philly, against Max Fried in Atlanta, Corbin Burns in Baltimore. So I mean, these are the Who's Who pitchers and on the Who's Who teams. So Boston's coming a little bit short, but this isn't those kind of teams. They're playing against Cincinnati and they've lost four out of their last five games. They got Andrew Abbott going. He's five and six. He's got a 342 ERA. Now, like they're kind of similar strength pitchers, but we're getting a much better team in Boston. We're getting a hotter team in Boston and we're getting them at minus 108. So I like Boston on the road, on the Moneyline. Our next Moneyline play is we're gonna take the Washington Nationals on the Moneyline and they're going out to Colorado. Washington also playing good baseball. There's seven and three in their last 10. And they got DJ Hertz going. This kid is electric. I mean, he might not be Paul Skeens good, but he's up there, man. This guy is really good. He's had three starts and he's getting better and better everyone. His last start, he gave up one hit, zero runs and 13 strikeouts, 13 Ks for a rookie. That is massive. And now he's going versus a Colorado team and they are 26 and 49. They're 23 games below 500 and it's Dakota Hudson going. This guy's two and nine. He's got a 489 ERA. He's got 41 strikeouts to 36 walks. Not good. Colorado three and seven in their last 10. We've got the much better team. We've got the much better pitcher. Give me Washington on the Moneyline. And it's at minus 115. So I like that price too. I got a couple of leans that I like that I'm just gonna put half units on. I like Philly and Arizona to go over nine and a half runs. Two pitchers I don't like going. It's Jordan Montgomery of Arizona and Taiwan Walker of Philly. Both of them have ERA's north of five. Montgomery's, yeah, he's awful. He gives up 11.37 hits per nine. We'll talk about that in a second. And Taiwan Walker, he's in three and two. He's got a 533 ERA. He was the guy who was the most fraudulent three and ever because he just has the worst saber metrics. And yet it's Philly so they keep on winning. But two really good offenses. The winds blowing out and Philly as well. So I do think that they're getting over nine and a half. But Philly's kind of sneak bit me a couple of times in the past. So I'm gonna just put a half unit on that one. And then another half unit I like is I like Toronto and Cleveland to go over nine and a half runs as well. Now Toronto hasn't posted their picture, but it looks like it's going to be Yariel Rodriguez. He's got four starts. He's 0-1-1. He's got a 411 ERA and a 1.76 wips. So not great numbers. And it's versus Carlos Carrasco. Now he's pitched horribly for Cleveland this year. As good as Cleveland is, he's two and six with a 5.80 ERA and a 146 whip. So not great numbers at all. Both these offenses should be able to hit against each other's picture, nine and a half runs. So it's a bit of a higher total. That's why I'm not loving going a full unit on it. So I'm just going to take a half unit. So we've got two full unit plays on Boston and Washington. I got two half unit plays on totals in Philly and in Arizona and in Toronto and Cleveland. And I got some batters that I like as well. Yeah, I really like these batters. We're going to take Gunnar Henderson to get one hit. Now this guy's on a 13 game history. He's got the second most hits in the majors. He just had a three hit night last night versus Lewis Gil, like an elite pitcher in the Yankees. And he's going versus Jake Bloss. Now this guy's making his MLB debut. Now he's going from double A skip in triple A and going right to the majors. He's pitched really well in double A, but this is a Baltimore team that just put up 17 runs on the Yankees last night. So for us to get one hit with Gunnar Henderson, I like our odds of that. And we're going to pair it with Steve Quand. This guy never lets us down. He's on a 14 game hitting streak. He's batting 396 on the year. And like I said, he's he's going versus the Ariel Rodriguez. Hasn't pitched great. So it's more likely he only usually goes three or four innings Rodriguez anyway. So it's kind of going to be like a bullpen game for Toronto. And Toronto does not have a good bullpen. Give me Steve Quand and Gunnar Henderson together to get one hit each. And that pays minus 122, so not a two high of a price. I like that. And then I got one more I like. We're going to take Alec Baum to get one hit. He's got a hit in nine out of his last 10 games. He's batting 306 on the year. And he's going versus Jordan Montgomery, who gives up 11.37 hits per nine. That is a ton. But give me Alec Baum. And we're going to pair him with our boy Bobby Witt. Now he's batting 444 versus Nathan Evaldi. He's got one hit in 22 out of his last 25 games. He's batting 322 on the year. Love that. Give me Bobby Witt and Alec Baum to get one hit together. And that's a minus 128, not too high of a price either. So we got a ton of plays going today, guys. We had some pain yesterday, but I think we're going to have the pleasure today. I know you guys are rocking with me. Let's roll. (upbeat music) (upbeat music)
