Listen back to Paul Cooney, Shelley Kerr and JOHN HARTSON as they talk all things Scottish football.

This is the Gore ideal football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Call, await, await at 17, 17, 700. Let's go. Good evening, this is Paul Cooney. We're back this week. It's show number four of the new season. Just 3,000 to go between now and next to me. What's going to happen? We're going to find out what we think is going to come this weekend. And the company, if someone would not head in the program for many months, have been busy down south, the former Scotland boss, Shelly Care at MBE. Shelly, great to see you back. Good evening. You're looking well. Tan, is that because you've been out training, coaching. You're coaching some youngsters just now, just to help during the close season. Yeah, a little girls performance camp based in East Calder. So a lot of young players that are playing at clubs and are coming in for some extra training. And you know what, it's been a breathy, fresh year. They've been so receptive. But it doesn't have help when the weather's nice. The weather has been good over the past few days. And also, we're going to talk about the Euros specifically about Spain, because last night we spoke about Len and Miller, 17 years old, season number two for him. He's in and mother will. Could it be a target of Celtic or Rangers? Peter Grant kicked it off last night with Barry Ferguson. And my point is, look at Spain, the young players that got not least Yamal, who played what? 16, 17, just done on the Cup final day. Yeah, turn 17 before the final. But I think if you look across all age groups, seniors as well, the women's team won a World Cup. They're under 19s. Women's team's just won the Euro finals. The main team obviously win in the Euros. I think a lot of nations have got a lot to do to catch up. I think they could dominate football for the next, you know, five to seven years. I really think that because they're so technically gifted. If you look at the main team, for example, they had a lot of senior players a few years ago. They've almost rebuilt that team. And the youngsters have now come in. And, you know, if you're good enough, you'll play. But they were very, very impressive during the Euros. But in Scotland, are we too reticent to put people in young? Next year is a guy who made his debut in senior football age 17, John Hartson, John. Welcome back from the summer break. Yeah, although it's only August the 1st, so more sunshine to come, hopefully. But John, last time we saw you, it was a Cup final. And your old team Celtic winning the double. Been a good summer for you? Yes, it has. Yeah, I've been like everybody else. I've been having a look at the Euros. I wasn't sort of, can't watch every single game. I didn't think it was particularly a great Euros. I think I was expecting a bit more from the bigger nations, if you like, the Francis and the Germanes. And too many extra time. Wasn't the people just playing by the penalties? Well, I'm very excited to see how the new season is going to plan out, you know, lots to talk about. And, you know, it'll be another competitive season, hopefully. And as I said, you know, it's always great to come in and discuss it and keep on top of what's happening in Scottish football, in particular. Who can catch Celtic? That is the question, isn't it? They'd be, you know, Mansetti, they'd be Chelsea. And I know that's pre-season. So does that have a bearing in what's going to happen? What was your experience pre-season games? Well, it's all about getting minutes in the legs, you know, pre-season. But you have to say, cell-expre-season has been very impressive. They've beaten some massive teams, you know, the likes of Manchester City, Champions of England, Chelsea. You've spent an awful lot of money, one or two other really good, positive results. And I'm sure, I'm sure the manager and the staff are delighted with the way pre-season is gone. But it's all about Sunday, you know, the opening day. It's all about the three punches. Like Rangers, they've not particularly had a great pre-season. But if they go at the hearts on Saturday afternoon and win, their pre-season's forgotten about. It's all about the business end, picking up the three points when it really matters. And pre-season, yeah, I think Celica had a good pre-season. But I wouldn't be getting carried away with, you know, with everybody saying, "Well, you know, it's going to matter really when it really kicks off because pre-season really is all about fitness." But I'll have to say, they've had some really, really impressive results. Kasper Smichael started well, didn't he? But Adam Ida looks as though the deal is not off. It looks as though he could be coming. No firm word just yet, but we know what happened. He was late for the game overseas with Norwich. And they're not happy about it. But Paolo Bernardo looks as though that's very close to signing, both and possibly by the weekend. And for Rangers, well, we know that kind of golden left early in the week. Last night, we gave the news about the central defender, Robyn Propper. 30-year-old, he was captain at 20. He's in Manchester just now, Shelly, undergoing a medical looks as though he'll be in there. Well, you'd imagine, maybe, at timecastled the weekend. It's been a difficult close season. We've got two hours to talk about all the clubs. But we know about Rangers going to Hamden. Nobody would have thought that at the end of the season is that going of a bearing. But we're still waiting to hear about James Tavernier. The captain, and before the show, we said it, he's much maligned, but he's scored so many goals, so many assists. He's the captain. I just think it's a tough one, isn't it? Because if you speak to Rangers supporters, you know, he's a bit hot and cold with them. But if you look at his data over the years that he's been at Rangers, the amount he goes, people will chuck in, well, a lot of them are penalties. He's free kicks. It's almost like he's been a consistent player. And, you know, the question marks around James Tavernier has always been about his defending. However, if you play for Celtic or Rangers, and you're a defender, more often than not, you're attacking. And you know that, John, you're played in there. But I think he gets a hard time. And sometimes when a player goes, then that's when you realize they're worth. I'll look back to Ryan Kent for Rangers, for example. I don't think they've replaced them. And I think they've really, really missed them. But in terms of him being the lengthy time he's been at Rangers, and the success in terms of his consistency, the goals and his assists, there's absolutely no doubt he's been a big player for Rangers. Well, I absolutely agree with Shelly. I think she makes some great points there. I think the main one is, where do you replace that? 21, 22, 25, up over 30 at times. Where do you replace them goals from? No, we know he gets a lot of penalties. He gets a lot of dead ball situations, free kicks. But still, you've got to score. It's all counters, one goal. His goal, Helly, is nothing short of ridiculous in the time he's been at Rangers. So that would be my only concern. The other concern is really you'd have to ask the Rangers fans, but it's the lack of trophies as a Rangers captain. You know, he's only brought back one title. I think it's three trophies in the time he's been there. One title, one Scottish Cup, one League Cup. No, we know he's been up against a very strong Rangers. You know, he's got that 2000, was it 10 season? It was the 2020, so 2020. Yeah, but maybe sometimes when they come on, you know, people say, well, as a Rangers captain, he should have maybe won more titles. But that's up for debate. But as I said, the goals, just the goals I think Rangers will miss from him. If he was to leave, Paul. Big changes at Rangers. Quite a few out as we all know, John Wundstrom, but on a bad ass itch, Robbie McCrory down to Comannock, and a big night for Kelly tonight. And for St. Maryam, we'll talk about those two shortly. Came out, Ruth's gone, Fabio Silva, who was on loan. Sam Lammers has gone. He's been sold, Abdullah Sima, end of the loan, and Connor Goldson, Ryan Jack as well. So a lot of people out. And Todd Cantwell, as we know, is up for transfer. So he is not training with the first team. Incoming at Rangers, Vaklav Cerny, Robyn Propper, looks as though he's just about done and dusted. And some other players, Hefti, for example, Diamandi signed after a loan. And he's a good signing for them, isn't he? Liam Kelly, of course, in to cover for Jack Butler, a 28-year-old mother and Scotland goalkeeper. And, yeah, there's Nissella as well, a 20-year-old. But no outstanding name so far. Listen, the names coming to the big two. Used to be you would know who they were. You don't necessarily these days. Rangers are tracking another player, a midfielder. He can be defensive midfielder. He can be attacking midfield. 31-year-old, another Dutchman, Marco Van Ginkle, who he was at Chelsea at one point. He's a free agent after leaving Vitesse Arnhem. I think you're seeing the effects there of Nils Copkin, the technical director. I think so, you know, in terms of the staff, they will have a big input. And they'll know these players inside out. You know, the one thing I would see, if you're looking to bring in a 31-year-old central midfielder, is going to be good and hit the ground running, especially when, you know, it's at Rangers in this situation right now. With the amount of transfers, like, that are going out and a lack of some coming in. For sure. John, quite a few people, Mark's been on already saying, what's going to happen with Matt O'Reilly? What do you feel? This is what Brendan Rodgers said yesterday, spoke exclusively to Skye. We can actually straightforwardly map because he's such a great professional. I think it was the challenge, I think, for teams coming to a club like Celtic, is that they sometimes can place a value on the league. And not the player. And I've already said to the club, but we all understand the model here. Players will come in and develop. It's not a club that you have to move on from, but obviously, there's riches in other leagues. Much greater than ours that allows players to go and improve their conditions for their life. So we all understand that. But I think it's really important from my perspective, a player does leave here. As I said, they play the value for the player. And that's not something that sometimes can happen. Sometimes the value will come in a lot less. But I've worked in the Premier League. I understand the levels there. I understand the players and what the values are. So no player will leave here unless it's for the right valuation. And at this moment in time, there's been no team that's been anywhere near there. Good insight, John, isn't it? The people often devalued the league. And not the quality of the player. Well, that's right. And I think basically what Brendan Rogers is saying there, any player is up for sale. But they have to come up with the right fee that's holding value the player at if they come up with that valuation. Then they will be not happy, but they will accept the fact that there is a lot of riches in the Premier League. And other leagues around the world. Brendan totally appreciates that. The board will feel the same. The fans have to feel the same, although you never want to lose your best players. But what you see in there is that the clubs that have bid, whoever they are, it's not enough. And if the right offer was to come in, any players for sale. John, you've stayed at Celtic for quite a time. You've been Arsenal, West Ham. You played right at the top. But there was something special for you playing at Celtic. And is that still the case? If you were speaking to Mataraly, he will go at some point for a lot of money. But at the moment, they're saying 16, 17 million. So what would you say to him? Enjoy the Champions League or whatever, or is it inevitable that he's going to go? Well, it all depends, Paul. If Brendan has just said that, if a club doesn't pay the valuation of the player, then he won't be going anywhere. How much do you think it would be, John? Is it around 20 million? I would think so. Yeah. I would think so. What about Atlanta? This room that they bid were 14? Yeah, then. Up to 16, add on. With add on. I would say 20 plus for a player that has got real qualities. He's got better and better since... Was it hand-approaching? Yeah, it wasn't. One and a half million from it. OK, Don, it's amazing. Yeah. So when you think about it, you know, the progress that Mataraly has made, he's an outstanding player, his balance, his guile, his added goals to his game, and what he brings to that Celtic midfield, alongside McGregor and Hattati. And Bernardo, we don't know what's happening with Bernardo. That's coming. Yeah. So for me, Brendan set the nail on the head there. They understand that the player's way. If the proper valuation, what the club value Matt came in, and he's saying, you know, the riches and everything from the Premier League and other leagues around the world, you know, you can't blame players, but you know, it's massive now. I think it's all about the timing. The timing of the moves, isn't it? I thought last season he was outstanding. And what a piece of business in terms of getting them for. What did you say, a million, just over a million? One and a half. One and a half. It's just, it's unbelievable bit of business, isn't it? When you think about it. So, and going back to Brendan Rogers, no one knows more than him in terms of what that market's like down south. So he will know exactly what price he's valued at and what Celtic will take from. But I think in terms of the player, what I really like about Matt Riley is his awareness and his football intelligence. And I think he's just getting better and better. But for me, when you play for these big clubs in Scotland, it's all about the timing of your move. You've both seen many players, both from Celtic and Rangers move, and then they don't play. And I think that's really, really important for players. Yeah, great point. It would be such a waste. What about Adamida? Here's the latest from the manager. Didn't want to say too much. Well, Adam's a Norwich player. I said that he obviously done fantastic with us last season. And we'll just see what happens over the coming weeks. He's still in the WhatsApp groups. So I don't suppose there was WhatsApp groups, and it's not that long ago since you were running Scotland. No, it's a long time ago. I can assure you, when it was playing, there was no WhatsApp groups. I'm like, what's WhatsApp? What about Pella Bernardo? Well, hopefully, hopefully, it's a matter of hours. Each of the other medics will hopefully all been well with that. But we still have work to do. But in transfers, there's lots of moving parts. It's never as easy as just seeing a player and bringing them in. So, but we would hope by the end of August that we would have the team support at how we would have wanted. Because it's so important that you cannot snooze in this game of football. You always have to be developing and improving. And we want to ensure that we're having improved squad for this season in order to take on all the challenges that we have. That was the headline, John. If you snooze, you lose. I would think Bernardo's in, he said, he's having a medical. You know, he's played a prominent role last season for Saldic. So that one, I would imagine, is imminent. You know, the Adami Dao won, I think, Saldic, professional as they are. They want to do their business behind closed doors, in case anything was to go against that particular move. But he's a player. I think that the club won to think he's a player that did very well last season. Came in, scored some vital, lightly, really important goals. Obviously, the winner and the cup final. And I think he's also got a little bit of work to do in terms of his hold up play. And just his general all-round play when the ball comes into him on the edge of the box. But I think that can be taught to a center forward. But he's got attributes. He can run him behind, he can finish, he can turn players. And he's always worked to do with the young players. Remember, this lad, he's got a number of caps in the Republic of Ireland. And he hasn't played an awful lot in Norwich first team. So, you know, naturally, Saldic will look to bring him in, turn him into a real top center forward. Because as I said, he's got all the attributes to become a top player. Joe's been on from Hillheads, O8, O8, 17, 17, 700, John Hartson and Leanne. Kelli is here. Shelly is here to pick your partner on that one. He's just mentioning this one. He's great to hear Shelly back on the programme. He likes your point about player staying too long at the old firm. Shelly, he mentions Alfredo Morelos. I can't do two things at once, sorry. So, and that's an example of what you meant. He waited too long at Rangers before moving. You know, I'm going to take this aside from football because I think in any environment, there's a lifespan and jobs. And I think when you think about transfers, there's a right time to sell players. It doesn't mean that there are no hitting any foreign, but there's just a right time to do things. If you look at Alfredo Morelos, he had a brilliant season. And probably for Rangers, that was a time to capitalize on him and sell him then, but he didn't. And so for me, it is all about timing. You can stay too long at a club. I think it's been doing a bit so well then. It can, but it can be down to a new manager coming in. It can be down to other players coming in that, you know, you might not have that same connection with. There's lots of contributing factors. John, did you ever stay too long? Not in Glasgow. Yeah. I don't know. I left clubs, you know, probably after a couple of years, because of the amount of transfer fees that I went for, you know, when I was at Western, I signed for two and a half million. I left for seven and a half million, so that was a no-brainer, you know. So for me, at Salding, I stayed the longest. I'd ever been at a club by two years at Arsenal, Westtown, Wimbledon, two years. And then I came to Salding, and Martin wanted me to make Salding my home, and I ended up staying for five years and then the best five years of my life. So, at 31, I think I was pretty short towards the end, Paul. I don't think I was going anywhere from anywhere from anywhere. Thank you, Kevin, everything, though, hadn't you? Yeah, you did a wonderful time, and everybody knows that. But, yeah, as I said, I think, Shirley makes another good point. That is sometimes as well, the player, you know, the player's heads can get tuned a little bit as well with agents and everything else. And, you know, you look at the season where Neil Lanham was in, and Ryan Christie was, performances didn't really particularly stand up. I think I had the centre off. He was like, and then he would head wide, who was, you know, really didn't look as if he was really on board. It was one season too long, but they were trying to get the 10, weren't they? And, of course, with hindsight, then it was the wrong thing. But, you know, Shirley, with you, did you stay too long or whatever? You had a great time as Scotland Women's Manager. No, left at the right time. I think that, especially in international football, when your players are predominantly the same for a long period of time. So, there needs to be a freshness. I always think you need to freshen things up. You know, one good example, I think, is Colin McGregor at Celtic. I think he's made the correct decision by staying at Celtic. There is absolutely no doubt he could have went down to England. There is no doubt about it. But he's found a place where he's now became a leader in terms of that captaincy after Scott Brown. And I think it's added so much to his game. And so, that's an example of he stayed the longevity he's been there. And I think it's worked for him as an individual and for Celtic. That's true, isn't it? Because he was going nowhere. The manager wanted him at Leicester, didn't they, Brendan Rogers? But they said, no, he's staying and he's been quite a captain. I'm going to take a break in a moment or two. Rangers fans are coming on as well, giving us their thoughts on the rebuild. Because that's what the manager will be telling us. We heard them the other day, Philip Plamon. It's a rebuild at Ibrokes. But, remember last summer, they spent nearly 20 million. They didn't think 12 months on that we'd have to spend. But they have to sell players before they can buy. What are you thinking, Rangers fans? And Celtic fans, who are you looking to see? How are you feeling about Bernardo? Seems to be on the way. And Ida, is he coming? And also, the ongoing story about Lawrence Shankland. Will he score this weekend? And who's it going to be for? Look at the moment, he's very much a hearts player. Hearts fans would hate this. But we are the voice of the Glasgow and the West here. Could he be at Rangers by the weekend? What do you think? Last night we spoke about it. Could he be at Celtic? And what about my off-scare as well? Still at the dawns? They're looking for maybe five or six million pounds. Could he fit in at the price bracket? I would think it would be Celtic at the moment. Would they want some? What do you think? Oh, eight, oh eight, 17, 17, 700s. This is the good radio football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go, let's go. Can you believe the weekend is almost here? And that means the football season is underway proper. It's just two and a half weeks since the Euro's final, which of course, as we know, Spain, where the winners, Shelley Kerris here, the former Scotland manager. And John Hartson, who is? John Hartson. So many clubs as well. The Eurofuse as well, Kelly, over the years. But yep, there's so much on the go. It's been a sound. Look at the Olympics as well. Andy Murray and Dan Evans in action later tonight. Wouldn't it be amazing, Shelley, if Andy and Dan continue in there to the semis? They get medals in. I'll tell you what, they aren't have put in the fans through the ringer, watching them because they came. How many set points is it now? Oh, the first one, it was like five match points in watching it. You're just like, and then it was the same the other night there, but it's been incredible to watch. Great entertainment. Really good. It sure is, so. It's been years, yeah. Fingers crossed it for them. And many others. Duncan Scott was so pleased to see him get his gold in the men's really. It was brilliant because he just missed out. Not only missed out, didn't he for a bronze, but fantastic athlete. I'm still in university, scholar athlete as well. So yeah, really good to see them winning the really. Yeah, I met him. He came along to support Kilt what with Arnold Clark. He was a brilliant young man. So they put so much into it and it's all there. See, they're my academies that they have to take on board. Those are unbelievable. Huge, yeah. But they get rid of them so quickly. As you do too, Kelly. John and I are still watching something said to us. We need to find a shape for the summer. You know, getting to shape. We're going to find one more time. John in very good form. A few calls coming in as well. People want to talk about transfers, but also they want to talk about tonight. Huge one for, well, Paisley, European football back in town for the first time since '87, '88. A season's hard to believe, isn't it? But it's seen Marin tonight. Neil, Neil, should have been goals last week. What are you thinking? Valour of Iceland in town, Shelley? I think both of them are hard to call. But, you know, they've given themselves a great chance going into the second leg. It's all even in both the ties. So, you know, you hope for Scottish football that they both get through. I thought I watched a little bit of the Kilmanner game last week. And I think Derek McKinnis was going to make a couple of subs. Then he got the goal and it changes everything. It just gives you that confidence going into the second leg. So, hopefully for Scottish football tonight, they both win. Yep, let's hope so. Circle bruised tonight over there. I see they were critical of the pitch. Thankfully, this is the last year of the plastic pitch at Kilmanner Billy Bowie's putting the money in, which is absolutely brilliant. Yeah. John, what do you think we need at Scottish football? Needs it the coefficient is going down and down, I'm afraid. So, that doesn't mean you win tonight. Any insight, what do you think? Well, as you said, I think, um, with the early games as well, Paul, you know, young got that much time. You've only had a preseason. You haven't played a lot of competitive football. And some of those work goes against you when you play against the teams from different countries. Some of these teams could be halfway through this season. So, they've got a lot of games under the belt. They've got momentum, which can sometimes make it difficult in these sort of qualifiers, if you like. But, um, St. Miron got a great chance tonight. Obviously, they're level pegging, and they're at home. They have a big crowd. Sellout, which is great. Kilmanik a little bit tougher. But, you know, Derek McKinnis, he did a fantastic job last season. You know, we'd want to try and emulate the season that he had last season. And it would be, it would be brilliant if Kilmanik were to, um, continue in Europe again. You know, Greg, you said for the coefficient. Yeah. And it creates a follow. The other clubs, not just Celtic and possibly Rangers, if they get through the qualifiers. It's good to have one or two of the other clubs, you know, in the Scottish premiership, you know, all in Europe as well. For sure. And, Shelley, we now know for sure, Rangers played Dynamo Kiev. The game's going to be in Poland on Tuesday night. Then they bring them back to, well, Hamden at the following Tuesday. What you're thinking for Rangers is a massive game. Yes, a tough draw. Yep. And I know we were talking about pre-season, earlier, and what do you take out a pre-season games? But I'm sure the manager's been working on a tactical game plan, especially for the first game of the league, which is a tough one. A wait time castle on Saturday. And then they have to recover and go again in Europe. And, you know, that tie is going to be difficult for them. And I think they'll be hoping to get a couple of players in before that. I think the deadline was today for obviously the Champions League for, you know, players that are registered for the Champions League. So be interested to see what that list looks like. And we're watching to see, so it looks as though Robin Propper will be on it. And we're waiting to find out if there's going to be more signings for the weekend. It's coming so quickly. Now, that's a great point. They're going to be playing in Europe. Champions League qualifier, and they haven't kicked a ball in earnest yet, because we don't start until obviously Saturday. So what you're thinking, Rangers fans, ahead of the game, this coming weekend. And what about the, well, Saturday, 1230, hearts against Rangers. Talk about that in a moment or two. Mother will against Ross County, Stuart Kettlewell. Not happy with this team, the Draw with Partic Thistle in the League Cup, the Premier Sports Cup, the other day, but they are through. And then on Sunday, a Derby, Dundee United against Dundee, which everyone seems to be welcoming. It's great to see the two teams in the same city, having the Derby, St Mearn against Hibbs, and then it's Flag Day at Celtic 430. So on Skye on Sunday, Celtic up against Comarlock. And then Monday, we've got Monday Night Football as well, St Johnson against Aberdeen. And also the championship, we're going to talk about it, because, Shelley, you are, you're not too sure. It is a hard one to predict there in the championship. I think that is going to be so come. Everyone talks about obviously the championship being competitive. But just look at the teams that are in there, obviously Falkert getting promoted. Yep, they're on tomorrow night against Queen's Park. And then Livingston and Rethrovers, who done really, really well last season. Airdry, who played lovely football, great brand of football, no bias in the earth for either Airdry or Rethrovers in my part. Well, you've got family connections in both sides. Yes, both sides. Reth McCabe, obviously. Yeah, the manager in Calanford, Rethrovers. So, yeah. X Diamond. I don't know where I was sitting Saturday at that game. But, you know, dumb family as well. Aird have been doing well in the cup games. So, Hamilton, obviously, and Button as well, Parthik. So, see for me, I think every single week, you're going to get a few draws in that week. It's so, so tough to call. Yeah, and it's an interesting one there. You mentioned Falkirk, because Falkirk had a wonderful season last, you know. Invincibles? Yeah. Invincibles, and they'd had the league wrapped up with, what, four or five games to go? John McGlinn. And for me, it's a big challenge if you can go back-to-back promotions. I think Livingston did it. A couple of seasons to go on to David Hopkins. You know, they did it. And it can be done. It's just whether or not you think the other teams that are already in there, wouldn't we just, you know, look at Livingston. Livingston will look to bounce back first time around. They, you know, wanted two other clubs. They, they would be adding to look. Ralph Rovers, obviously just missed out Ian Murray to Dundee United. It was just too strong. So yeah, it's, it's, that is, that is a really competitive league this year is. I think what gives you the upper hand is the, the teams, the squads that have the depth, because it's, it's so tight. And, you know, you can't just rely on a start in 11 to get you through the whole season. So the squads that have probably got, you know, more finances and have got more depth, I think, you know, will probably be right up here. Difficult news today from Hamilton. The players apparently weren't paid yesterday. So there's a big paid dispute and they've walked out. So they'll have to get that sorted ahead of the game with air on Saturday. So three o'clock, so it's not good to hear. So apparently the players weren't paid. Certainly at the time when this came into. So we'll find out a bit more about it. Let's go back to the premiership. We mentioned motherboard there and Hugh is on the line. A big, motherboard fan. Good evening, Hugh. Good evening. How are we? Yeah, good thanks. Welcome back to the new season. How are you? Yeah, very well. Good to have you back again. You've obviously messed it up so when the gurus and all that on you, you don't even have it. I've got to watch these stuff in this show. Good to have you back again. It's good chat. Good pay banter. Thank you. We thought we'd keep you ready for the new season. So that we just, yeah, good to get a little bit of a break. But we're back. Like what about motherboard? We're looking forward to it and yet disappointing against Patrick Thistle. Yeah, first of the, before that point point, I just want to ask you two, as you can see the game's well today. I think some fans probably get the best chance. I think I like to see a global doing it, especially in an ex-millo mind. He's a good manager. I like Robl and good luck to Kelly there as well. Well, sure. He made it a habit for you heading to Hamden, didn't he? When he was the motherboard manager. So what about the well? Yeah, Richard. Yeah, and Patrick Thistle last week, yeah, that's his idea of running it. There was all the time, I felt like walking out the stadium with a performance. Really? It's a practice. Yeah, it was all the time I wanted to get up and leave out a fallen model for all those years. There was no passion. There was nothing that we're so easily read. Pass the ball left. Pass the center. I'm practicing again. Pass the ball right out. Long, long ball down the right hand side for a donut head. And we're so easily read. Just now, there was no fight, no passion last week, which was better. That's the point. They see it was so long forward to the game. Thinking whoever came to offer that lake, whoever won it, goes through and Patrick Thistle. I thought they were so unlucky not to get through. They were by far the better team on the day. I know I've seen it before. All the pundits, all the commentators, I've seen it by far the better team. And it was good to see Stuart Carewell's reaction. Even though with the personal performance, isn't the past, he's always came out and defended the team. As you do as a manager, it's good to see him coming out. He's really here. What do you think the team were missing? I've created my figure. Spittled. Spittled? I know what was missing. That goes in. That goes in. That goes in. And I did see it last week. It's not far away from the problem. They start at 11. There are probably three players missing up at the margin. So I'm striking for one. I know we bought as we call them a put. A post alive thing. We brought him a good look to the coach. The actual stadium manager of the ancient Hamilton. Yeah. It looks pretty. Yeah. But... But Blas Spittled is a big loss, isn't he? Spittled was absolutely massive. He thought about the part was unbelievable. Sparrow was brought and I don't think he's had enough game time. But he looks at it as pretty safe about as well. Defend as good as Gordon and Gordon doesn't take any crap. By the way, Johnny, even you've been struggling against Gordon. By the way, back by. Yeah, I'm not sure about that. Who I just want to say there, mate. You know, football is not a switch. And obviously it was a really difficult performance against part. Like a poor performance. So do you think this mother well group, I've got it in them, you know, to go and bounce back at the weekend. Hope opening game of the league campaign at home against Ross County. Have you got faith in the lads? As I said, if you're not playing particularly well, Stuart Carroll, well, there's got a bit of work to do with them. I've read an awful lot of times to do with that. But do you think mother well can turn up on Saturday with a different outlook, a different attitude? There are players right on it. Do you believe that, you know, mother well can put in the performance? I would like to thank you, and obviously you've been an eight, poor. I don't think players go and not I don't think I would like to think players don't go and chase the word play by that. I don't have that enough player. I don't think a player goes out and does that, right? Unless he's already finished his conference. I don't think they go to shit. I'm going to go back to the game. They don't, they don't, right. It's just it's just that nothing clicked on Saturday. If it's if it's right, what we're doing, what we're doing. I know there's a few players at this position, mainly duty injuries, Paul McGinnett at the back is just so assured. You could close your eyes and you know he's going to get it. He's so assured at the back, we're missing him in there. Blaney, probably his worst team has served it. But a couple of players come around and yeah, I'm pleased with this season. I want to give short get away. His full season that he had is a perfect for a couple of good performances last year, but it wasn't his team. Now this is his team. I want to give him his track at the back. How big is Lennon Miller going to be? Right. What about Lennon Miller? Everyone talks about him. He's in the papers again today. We spoke about him last night. Is this going to be his season for Mother? Or are you going to lose him maybe? Paul, I'm not just seeing this because I'm a mobile fan. I think he just wanted to come in for Lennon Miller. Honestly, they'll go in the liquidation again, try for the guy. I spoke to his dad last season, obviously when I was inside talking to him. Lennon wants to stay at another few months under his belt. If he goes in January, it goes with my best wishes. He's the biggest talent. It's the same way I come on up because it's not Campbell, is it? I can't remember the boys name. But you get young player the year. David Watson. David Watson, sorry. Yeah. Those two are honestly for no one. I seen Lennon Miller when he was 15 year old, playing an under 17 Scotland team against England. And he scored to five goals against England. Wow. Yeah. Frog had to feel it. Isn't he? Sure. Honestly, I think vision is outstanding. Who's the issue that you've got? Fans have got the club. I've got these vultures with the money. It turns heads. It turns Chairman's. It turns, you know, in terms of if a club, we're going to come in and offer it real, real, you know. Yeah. That's a really good, massive amount to money. You spoke about what people, you know... How much would you do? He was upon the figure on the players who play in Scotland, the players who play in England. Yeah. Do you know? Sure. So, that's the issue that you've got. The big clubs want him. They'll come and get him. Yeah. I mean, Peter Grant, last night said, Celtic should come in for him. Celtic have money. They're not going to throw it away. But I don't know. Is it 3 million pounds? And how could mother will say no to it? And we talked earlier about young players giving them a chance. What? I don't know. I could be one of the best. Well, but let's make it higher than me. You feel players that is coming through. Only because he's at his age. And only because he's at mother will. People are saying 3 million pounds, wouldn't they? It's an interesting point that Hugh makes. You know, factual point, if he's speaking to Lennon's dad, that he wants to stay at mother will for another season, perhaps. I think that's brilliant from a young player. Because there's so many times that young players, they move too quickly. And again, don't get playing time. No even young players. Look at David Turnbull, for example. David Turnbull makes his move to Celtic. Played, then he didn't play. Now he's away. So it's got to be the right time for a young player to move on. Yes, I just get on with you football as a young lad. Just go and enjoy your football. You know what? Hugh makes a really good point about Blair's battle. I think he's a huge loss for mother will. I thought he had a brilliant season. He's got such good game awareness. He can play both sides centrally, and his movement is incredible. You know, having watched him at Ross County previously, and then at Mother where I was at a couple of games last season, I was very impressed with him last season. I think hearts have got a really, really good player there. Hugh, I hope you have a great season though. What's your prediction then? First prediction of the season. Mother will Ross County, Saturday, 3 o'clock. I would like to thank C1, yes. I don't, we'll definitely not get people. We'll not get people off for us today at home. Good plan. This is the Go Radial Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Oh wait, oh wait, 17, 17, 700. Polk in a year with Shelley Kerr and John Hartson. Lots of calls coming in and lots to look forward to. St. Marin, in action tonight. Sellout at the Smiza Stadium. The new Luft Street, as I like to call it, and it's Valu in town of Iceland. European football's back for the first time, actually in that ground. I remember the old Luft Street, '87, '88, last time they were there. So when that stadium's full, it's such a brilliant atmosphere because spectators are so near the pitch. It was fortunate enough during one of the campaigns when I was a Scotland manager, we played our games there, and it was such a brilliant atmosphere. And you know, I feel proud tonight, it's my sort of stadium. It's a lovely, lovely stadium. It's a great stadium. It's a great stadium. Fantastic, but perfectly formed. Absolutely. It's a proper ground, isn't it? It's even when you're playing on the pitch there. You get so much buzz from that from your fans. I remember going to that stadium quite a lot, even when I played for Salty, because my next door nearby, Stuart, he was a big St. Marin fan, and I would go and put a big court on and a hat. This is when I was playing for Salty, because I never played against St. Marin, because they were never in the top flight. For them, six years I was at Salty. I used to go and watch them, and you're right, it used to be a fantastic atmosphere there. So you're the banner on? Yeah, I used to go to Love Street and watch some regular mid-week games. Just stay silent, because everybody knows your voice. I go with my neighbour. Yeah. Well, it won't be shouted about. Yeah, really. Crofti was trying to do your accent on the breakfast show the other day, so as soon as you hear that voice, you know it's John Harrison, don't you? O8, O8, 17, 1700, if you wanted to speak to Big John, or to Shelley, give us a call. We mentioned Phillip Clamong and the Rangers rebuild. We know about the fact they're going to be playing the home games at Hamden. We heard from the chairman on Monday night. The manager's been speaking about closed season, the rebuild, and it is a rebuild. We knew we needed to make a rebuild of the squad, so a rebuild is not a renovation. Of course, as a manager, you like to do a renovation, and to change one, two, three players, and keep you a core of your team and grow out of last season. But that was not the case. So we had an older squad. We had also six players living for free. They were end of contract, so they changed a lot. So there's still a lot of work to do. And not least about Todd Cantwell, who is up for transfer and he requested it. Oh yeah, I kept the door all the time open all these weeks, because it's already a while ago that he came the first time with that. So no, it's as long as a player is here, and we believe in his qualities, the door is always open. But of course, we need to focus now on the guys who are totally with their minds in the club and to getting the results next couple of weeks. So we will see what happens. John, what's your thoughts on Todd Cantwell who came with a lot of promise? But he doesn't want to be there. Well, I think the fans will be, you know, bitterly disappointed when you think he came up from Norwich, that the move looked a good one at the time. He put in some really good performances. I thought he let himself down once or twice with his antics, you know, around the pitch, his diving antics and everything else. But take that away. I thought the boy had talent. I think he had the ability to break into the box and get goals. And he could certainly play every week in the Rangers team for me. There's no doubt about that. So that would be disappointing, I think, for the supporters. And you think we can just tuck him away from Norwich, giving the opportunity to play in Europe and to make an impact in Scottish football. And, you know, at times, not enough, by the way, at times he did that. So I think it's a major disappointment that he's asked for this, you know, putting a transfer request and he wants to leave. But again, I don't know where his head is. He might be disappointed because he's always made sleeping on things like this. So he might not fancy it. He might not fancy the challenge. The battle this season with so many new players. I don't know, Paul. But I would imagine that the manager and the supporters will be disappointed with, you know, with what he's gone and done. Shelley, it's not something you're very often at a player asking for a transfer. I was just going to say that. It'll be interesting in terms of what the narrative is and what con takes that is in there. And I guess, you know, as a club, Rangers have obviously highlighted that he's put in a transfer request, which I like because they've been very open and transparent about it. But I would agree with John. I think when he, Rangers first signed on, he looked really promising. Had a few really good performances. But then, you know, if you think back as well, there was one of the games, I think, I can remember what game it was, but you get taken off, remember? And he wasn't best pleased about it at the time. He recovered from that and he added a little bit value. But there is something that's actually, you know, going on in his head in terms of why he doesn't want to be there. But I would always say, if a player doesn't want to be at a club, like Rangers are Celtic, there's something else going on in there. So there's another narrative to this, I think. And he will need to be replaced. The manager was speaking a bit more to Sky about the close season. I think we made really good steps in this preseason, but in many ways that people don't see, because they don't know the past or they don't know the details. But we have five, six players who the last three, four years never had a full preseason and they had no. So that's a big step forward for them. We had players coming out of injury that lost a lot of last season, like Danielo, like Oscar Cortes, who were out for months. So they are in a positive way, they did all the trainings that we plan to do with them. They're not yet at their best shape, but what was impossible in these moments. But it's for sure a positive. We have new players coming in who could take experience. Of course, they need to learn more and they need to get the team better and the way of playing. And we're still very busy in the transfer mark. I'm very convinced that Jenny will be a really, really important signing in that way. The recruitment team has been working hard together with us, together with the board, everybody's aligned about what to do. But of course, the win, you never have control totally about that, because it's about yourself, the money you have, it's about the other players, about the other team also. When players come free or if they can come free. So those things you don't control. So everybody worked really hard and I'm convinced we can make a good start of the season and I feel a lot of hunger in this building. Shelly, what do you make of what the manager was saying? Then the most interesting point for me, apart from obviously a busy transfer market that he's highlighted, was how he measures pre-season. Because if you're a supporter of your club, usually you measure it on the signings or results. That's just football. But as a manager, you do it different. You measure pre-season, he's mentioned two or three things there about, it's the first time, I think, five or six players have completed that for me as bizarre. That you've got five or six players. That is the first time that they've completed a pre-season. He's also spoke about, you know, another couple of players that have been injured of completed pre-season, but they still know quite there. So he is measuring it on those factors, which I think is really calculated by the manager. And I don't think he can get too carried away with just results. You've got to look at the bigger picture. But the most interesting one is obviously a busy transfer market. That's what he's mentioned. But with not a lot of money. And he did say weeks ago that Rangers needed to sell before they can buy anyone. And that hasn't been a lot of money coming in. It was a small fee, I think, for kind of goals. And we don't know exactly, but not a huge amount. Some money coming in. I think Philip Clement last year and did a lot of deflecting. I thought he deflected a lot of stuff away from, yeah, the real issues. I'm not particularly playing well, not standing up excuses like, you know, when they lost 1-0 or 2-1. Well, if we'd scored, if we'd made that pass, if we'd made that tackle, then we would have won. But that's really nonsense because you didn't make that pass. You didn't score that goal. And now for me, this would be his team. This would be considered to be his team. I think the only pass I'd give him for the first month or two or whatever, people can say it takes longer. Integrating new players into a team can take time because they come into Glasgow, they need to settle the crowd on a different breed to what they've ever been used to. And it does take players time to adjust to a different country and a different style. And you know better than anyone, the old firm? Yeah, we can work on it. The man, till it's a croon, yeah. So that was the only thing, you know, in the first couple of months, you might think, well, it might take time just because you haven't got time, really. You know, you've got to hit the ground running because you can't let Celtic go on and all of a sudden go a mountain in front because you leave yourself with such a difficult task then. So that would be the only thing for me, my concern, and give him a little bit of a pass in terms of it might just take his players a bit of time to settle into the team port. Shelley, I'm wondering what John's thinking about as a former great striker, Lauren Shankland. Everyone's talked about them, Rangers fans wanted them in January. They didn't get them. They still feel pay the $3 million or whatever. I know it's $3 million, but in the grand scheme of things, they reckon it would make a big return. Would you sign Lauren Shankland, if you could, if you were a Rangers? I even go back to the Euros, you know, there was a lot of chat in terms of Scotland, and, you know, how many minutes did he get? Not enough. He's a goalscorer, wherever he plays, he's a goalscorer. Does he fit the mould at Rangers? I think they need a goalscorer. Desters, obviously. He's gone. He's still there, but he's... He's still there at the moment, but you need a natural finisher. Anybody, again, that plays with top teams that are going to get more chances than not, which you do, both Celtic and Rangers, your goal return is going to be right up there, and all of us say about Lauren Shankland is he's a finisher. He's an absolute finisher. He's an absolute finisher. You can't argue with that, but... You can't. You bring his goals. John, I want your answer. If you don't mind, after the news, can you believe that scenario has flown in? So, what would you do? Should Celtic come in for Lauren Shankland? We're going to find out what Chelly thinks and what John thinks after the news. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen live, weeknights from five, on go. Let's go! This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Call, await, await, 17, 17, 700. Let's go! Brian's been on a big fan of Saint Mearn on the way to the game tonight. Good luck to Saint Mearn against Valuer. Nell Mill from last week, a great chance for them to go through. And also for Comannock over there in Belgium against Circle Bruce. So, 1-1 from last week for Derek McInnes' men. Chelly care. John Hartson here. It would be brilliant if both of them could go through tonight. And then tomorrow night it all kicks off. Of course, Falkert Queen's Park kicks off the championship tomorrow night. And then Saturday, 12-30, Hartson against Rangers. Celtic play on Sunday against Comannock at 4-30. John was speaking with Chelly just before the news. What do you feel about Lauren Shankland? Do you think he's going to go to Rangers? Will they come in? Could Celtic come in for him? Could he fit in as a backup to Kyogol? And if they don't get Adamida? Um, I don't know where Sal, they could think in on this one. Because if you don't get, um, Eda, then you've obviously got my off-ski as well. Who said they were a little linked with him early and on the January window, I think. For 31 goals from Shankland, you'd think, um, certainly Rangers in terms of, you know, the goals that they needed, that out-and-out goals goal that sent the 4-0. Sal, like last season they finished up with two. Kyogol and Jamesy Forrest came in out of the blue, you know, in and out. And made a big difference. Made a big difference. Eda made a massive difference. So if they get Eda, then forget Shankland for Celtic. I would think they don't think they need, uh... Does that make you think that they've got Eda? Um, yes, it does, Chelly, it does. And I think they've got him. I think they're just trying to be professional, not let the fans get carried away. Listen, I might be completely wrong. I've been wrong many times. But, um, I do think that maybe I've got Eda because I know Brendan's a big fan. I think Brendan wants him. And normally when the manager wants something at a big club, he can go in and say, "Look, I want this player. Make sure this gets done." You know, I think he will get done. But, um, Rangers, I'm amazed that they've not gone in for a play like Shankland. You know, he's from the same place in the same league. Yeah, of course, he was a young lad, he was a Rangers fan. So, uh, Wages will be decent, of course, they will, but they won't be extortionate, uh, in terms of, in terms of what you'd get for him, and pay for him in terms of a fee as well. Um, so yeah, I, I am, you know, a bit bemused. The fact that Rangers haven't gone in for a real quality proven, uh, send a forward. Shelly. Yeah, same, I think that when you look at all the transfers out, obviously, he, my roof, um, as much as he had these injury problems scored goals. So you got your goals when he was in, yeah. He got your goals when he was fit. Um, and obviously we spoke about Dasers before as well. Um, seems to have struggled to adapt to football in Scotland. Um, and we were talking off here as well, and how important it is, um, with the amount of chances you get, especially, you know, with acetic and Rangers, you're always on the ascendancy. You get in advanced positions. So, you know, you need to have a striker. And that's why you pay the most money for strikers, isn't it? Yeah, they're meant to check you up the leaves, don't they? Yeah. You know, they're the largest thing in the game. I mean, parts would be devastated to lose them, um, because he's been prolific. And I think he added so much value to the successful season, um, last year. Um, but the other one that, you know, we were talking about is Meoski. I really like Meoski. I think he's got a bit of everything. Um, you know, we can take a hit from defenders. He's a goalscorer. I don't know what I like about him. Yeah. He brings players in. He does. You know, he brings, you know, players can play in them around him. You know, he's a great touch on you out to the box, isn't he? Yeah, I mean, I watched Aberdeen last week, and obviously, as soon as he comes on, you know, he makes a difference. He's, he's not, uh, of course, but he's a, he's a talent. I don't think Aberdeen will keep a hold of him anyway. That's for sure. And by the way, this is no detriment to what we're saying against hearts. No, no, no. Remember, he's contracted the hearts by the way. So, you know, they give him a new contract and they lost it. Yeah. Losses? Yeah. But he didn't say the new contract. He was offered one, but he didn't take it. I didn't take it. Right. This is from, I suppose, we're talking about, we're not trying to sell him to any club. One of what we say is we're having an opinion on this. It's, it's, it's hearts perogosive, what they do with a player. But, um, as I said, uh, I think he, you know, I think he might, he might still well go. He might stay. We just don't know. We did. We're just summarizing. Of course. And can you imagine if he scores for hearts? F hearts. Peter last night, Peter Grant thought it'd be two, one. He scored against Rangers last season. Of course. Yeah. I mean, he, he, he dressed back post area. He, he can drop in short. The, the one thing about Lauren Shanklin is that he maybe likes a little bit of that kind of injection of peace. But when you're a goalscorer, it doesn't matter. As long as you can hit the ball in the back of the net, that's the most important thing. Absolutely. Do you think it'd be interesting to see what Lauren Shanklin thinks about all this, you know, going into a new season? What would he have maybe expected to have moved in the summer? And that hasn't happened. Not yet. No, it's still the boys. Obviously, you need to have a fantastic attitude, which I think he has. Yeah. And he will go into the game against Rangers on Saturday, fully committing to hearts. But you just wonder, when you link so much and you start to believe in, will they be here? It'd be interesting to see what he's thinking about still, you know, still not, not, got in that move, if you like. Here's what the manager was saying to Sky the other day. This is Philip Clemente about the transfer process. Because as we all know, it doesn't happen overnight. It's got complicated agents and everyone involved. And when you're trying to get someone that you really want. If you can find one fan who's happy now about all the transfers done in a club, we will do a great job, I think. So it's all over in all the teams, all the squads that fans want more. And that's why they are fans also. That's normal. It's a busy period. It's also a period that started later than normal because of the euros. The club did already a lot of things inside the budget that we have. But we don't have a budget that we just spend money to spend money. So we need to do it wise and not only short term, but also long term. So like I said, a lot of the core of the club and the team left also. And also were above their 30s. So we need to reinvest also in younger players in development for the future. So it's looking short term and long term. He was asked what are the chances of Rangers winning the title? I will put all my effort in that. And that's what we need to do. So we know, of course, there's a small renovation with a few details. And they can build on their core. And we have a big rebuild. So let us first make a good foundation of this rebuild of our house and let us build our house the next couple of weeks and make the next couple of months to make it much stronger. And then it will be much stronger than it was six months ago. Because all the talking stops soon. And it's about winning trophies, isn't it? Rangers got the League Cup last season. And there's a huge one for him, obviously one, the final. But Celtic took the other two. So who'd be a manager? Shelly Carr. But the thing is, when you're a manager, you think you're in there because you think that you can fix things. And you won't succeed. You won't elude a group of people to make them better. That's ultimately what you do as a manager. You want to get the best out of people. I like Philip Clement when he came in. He talks really well. I think he knows the situation that Rangers are in right now. And in his head, he will have measurable targets. And but the measurable targets that you have at Celtic Rangers is when in trophies. There is absolutely no doubt about that. I've flipped back to last season. And I think the reason he'd done so well, he had impressed a lot of people in Scottish football when he first came in. Because they clawed back so many points. Celtic was so far ahead. They clawed back the points. But then, you know, I think it was the two games against Ross County and Dundee. And that, ultimately, is what set them apart. You know, even I know that you're talking about, you know, the games against each other, but actually Ross County and Dundee. Yeah, it was almost as they couldn't quite recover from them. It was so tough for them after that. And I think, you know, for the Rangers supporters, they didn't expect that. You're not expecting that time this season. And not only did they lose bad games, there was a psychological blow. Saldic then, all of a sudden changed gear. As if Saldic got a lift as well from them to defeat the Rangers. Come on, Celtic, it was back. Okay, come on, okay. That's fantastic. It was the mother of all games, remember, just before the all-form game. It was for us. Look, he expected that. James was for us, I don't know. The people were crying out for that for months. By the way, Rangers were banging it. Yeah, of course. With three to nine games to go, they were banging the title of it. But that's a different challenge. Now, you know, he's came in. The challenge was to claw back as many points as possible. Because Saldic was so far ahead. He achieved that. And then it flipped. Now this challenge is different. Because again, you know, Philip Clement has made no secret about it. There was aging players. There's going to be a rebuild. You know, he's talking about getting the foundations right. So this is a different challenge for him as a manager. But yeah, we're talking all fair. And Joe makes a great point here already that it all comes down to Saturday and Sunday. You know, that first game at Time Castle for Rangers. And then again, you know, on Sunday for Saldic at Home Against Comannock, it doesn't matter about preseason because it's all about getting three points. John, it's going to be an issue. The fact that Rangers are not going to be able to play at home, certainly in August and September. Hopefully, the still will be here in time. It'll be ready for the end of the month. The month of September. But that effect, Joe, is a player. What do you think? Well, it's not your home, is it? You know, it's not Ibrox, you know, where you're used to coming down that tunnel. You're used to looking over at the stadium. Hamden, you know, Hamden is the national stadium. It generally holds all the big cup finals. Rangers supporters would have been, you know, very used to going there over the years. But it's not Ibrox. So I don't know, Paul, I think they'll be able to cope. They'll want to get wins under their belt and go win this and prove to people that we can win at Hamden. But as I said, it's not ideal, really. It's not ideal, obviously, there's issues that Ibrox, they have to deal with. And the steel after blah, blah, blah has to arrive. But it is what it is. So all they can do is go and prepare and forget the wins that they want. So that is a tough one for the manager and the players. You get a view on it. Do you think it'll make much difference? A bad effect and said, look, yeah, I agree. But it's a football pitch. It's 11 against 11. No, it is for it as, but John makes a great point. It's home. It's what you're used to. That's why you sign for a club as well. The environment that you create there, you know, historic stadiums. It's not the sole reason. But it's also, you know, adds so much value to when you're a player and when you're a manager. And it's called home, it's your home. And I think the supporters will be wanting to get this dealt with Ibrox as soon as possible. You don't want hearings coming out of Ibrox. Well, it's only four games and all of a sudden, well, there's a delay. And all of a sudden, then you've got three or four months down the line, then you're still at Hamden. I think the key is to get to get Rangers back at their home, back at Ibrox as quick as they can. Yeah, just a minute. Spoke about that and said it, they'll get in as soon as they can, but there's no guarantee. But even for the supporters, I think, as well, you know, you as a supporter of a club, you invest so much over your time and your finances and those supporters grew up supporting their club, going to Ibrox, you know, alternate weeks. And now that's a change for them. So it'll be interesting to see how they react, what environment they can create, what noise they can create in Hamden to help the team. Can anyone catch Celtic? That's what we're going to ask you before the end of the program. Who do you think is going to win the title as we're getting ready to kick off? Brendan Rogers speaking to Skye was asked how much is he looking forward to but this new season? Very much so, very much. I'm looking forward even more so now about a year in and look back to last season. It was quite one of the 4s in my ways, just getting to know the squad and the players. And but obviously before that relationship and that togetherness as the season wore on and we finished the season so, so well. So and that's continued through pre-season. So really excited, great challenges ahead for this season again. But our objectives is always the same. Domestically we want to win as many trophies as we can. That's our aim. And obviously into Europe, can we get into the playoffs in Europe? So real exciting season ahead. John, that would be one of the main ambitions I would imagine to get in with their in the Champions League, the new format. Eight games guaranteed to get into the playoffs. Yeah, that's right. And they'll need a bit of quality, you know. And they've got quality. Now, Brendan, I'm sure I would like to bring in. I was really asking that, John. I think they will, too. Do you think they've got enough depth right now in their squad? In terms of domestically, I think they can handle it quite comfortable. But when you go in against that, the top, top team, they can compete in some games. You know, they can take teams to the wire. They can push teams. They can play well in certain games. But ultimately, you look at these top European sites, that said it will go up against. They've got bigger budgets. They've got players that have, you know, that are proven at that level. And it's no doubt last season, I kept saying it that after every single Champions League game, Brendan Rodgers did an interview and he said we need more quality. Now is the time, really, you know, to go and make that happen. Because there's no doubt the Celtic fans love winning domestically. They love, you know, the records and the leagues and the cups. And, you know, that's their bread and butter. There's no doubt, even in my mind, Celtic have to improve in the Champions League. And the way to do that is to add quality to the quality that they've already got. Because I'm thinking they will lose either a tattoo or matter, Riley. I think, you know, the writing is on the wall. I'd be amazed, Paul, if they didn't. They won't lose two of them. They can't afford to sell two of them. There's no way they'll do that. And I think the fans know that. Yeah, yeah. But if you lose a quality player, then it's imperative that they're out there, the recruitment looking for real top replacements. And that doesn't come true. But would you prioritise? Where would I prioritise? Yes. I would prioritise defensively. I think Carter Vickers is more than capable. Skills, although he did very well. I think somebody could do with a real good centre back or can play. You can hit it in both boxes. Centre forwards are always, you know, vitally important to keep Kayogo fit. Because he's proved he can score in Europe. He's a terrific world-class centre forward. If he's given the supply. And he's back with the spring and his step. But the manager's saying that spring and his step, Paul, you're absolutely right. And of course, a centre midfield player may be a holding midfield player. Because then Callum can then maybe move up to that number eight. Sometimes you can get in behind and try and go a bit more forward to score goals. Like he did three or four years ago. Now he sits more predominantly. But I think giving that little bit more licence. So I think that discipline sits at like a Scott Brown. I can be learning that type of player that can drag players around. I think, so for me, I think they're still, you know, to really go to the next level. I still think they need three or four quality players. But of course, that costs money. He spoke a bit more, Shelley, about the close season and the window being slow. I think it will do. I think speaking to a lot of managers, it's been that. I think that obviously, especially with a lot of the top English teams being away. And obviously, they're having the euros and everything else. The squads are a little bit broken. So it's not really until they come back and all together, they can see what they have. And obviously then there's an knock on effect to that. But yeah, I think always you want to get your work done. Everyone would love to get the work done as soon as they can. We'd love to have had everything done for the first game of the season. But that doesn't necessarily always end up being the case. But for me, my hope is that we can be a much stronger coming out of the August window than what we finished last season. Shelley, what do you feel what John said and what the manager said? I think they both align, don't they? Because Brendan Rogers is alluding to the fact that the euros is impacted because they're still obviously business to be done. Players are still coming back. Pre-season's going on just now. The players obviously get a longer race when they've been involved in the euros. So I think there is kind of statement as this business to be done at the right time. I was interested that Brendan's take on last season about finishing well and there's a real togetherness because they had to come through a tough time. And that does make you more united as a squad. It's interesting that he feels that they've carried that on to pre-season. And if they add one or two, three players that John is talking about, then again, they'll be a massive force again. Well, I think also to be competitive in the Champions League was selling them generally being quite poor in recent years. To be competitive at that level, Brendan's got to go in. If this is where they want to go, by the way, because as I said, they can win domestically, they can win doubles, trebles. So for me, if they want to really contest and match quite a lot of teams, still not but might be enough, but they'd be in a better position if they were to add more quality, then they have to do it. If they've got ambitions of doing better in the Champions League. It was the last couple of seasons. I mean, two seasons ago, obviously Rangers and Celtic, were in the Champions League and both had really poor records. And then last season, I think in the end, just season, it was one point. The two last season, although, last year was one of the best performances, it wasn't an analytical Madrid. They didn't win either game, but they showed flashes. They did. But they need a consistency. They can do that, especially at Celtic Park when you get the crowd behind you. And even when they go away, they can play really, really well. And they can score, they can go in front, but ultimately, the opposition's quality will eventually break you down. But they can be competitive, Paul, but being competitive, is it enough for Celtic on the back of their European record? I know fans loved him in winning domestically, but the Champions League, you need quality in most areas of your team. He's done well with the goalkeeper, though, hasn't he? So let's see what he said. Yeah, but Schmeichel, this is what he said yesterday. Well, just him coming in in this last 10, 12 days or so was given that the players are left. We'd obviously Joe here, who was absolutely brilliant. And obviously, the season I bought with him last season, he was an amazing character and goalkeeper. And it was really important for us to bring in someone like that and have a work with Casper for the period that I did. I knew he was hunger, I knew how competitive he was. I also knew how good he is around these teammates. And of course, coming into here, coming into a massive club like this is something that he really, really relished. So he's settled in very, very well. He's obviously an experienced goalkeeper, but he's no standing goalkeeper and someone that would very lucky to have. Shall he? I totally agree. I think he's been the consummate professional throughout his career. I think it's a brilliant sign-in, great replacement for Joe Hart. Yeah, brilliant piece of business. John? Yeah, he's still got qualities, he still fit. Loves to play. And listen, we're talking about a 37-year-old guy. Your goalkeeper's done in the peak, 37, 38-year-old. Goalkeepers generally do play, you know, when they're longer than that. And their age keeps up. I'm just going to say, I think it's dad, right? Yep, you played against him many times. Was a phenomenon, one of the best goalkeepers ever been. And I'm not so Casper Swigill. I'm not putting him in that in that barrier. But if he didn't have a dad called Peter, then Casper Swigill would go down as one of the fantastic goalkeepers, you know, because his dad was on a different level. But the good thing is, as well, Brendan knows him. He's worked with him, so he knows his attitude. He knows him around the dressing room. And the fact that he's got him in, on the back of losing, a top keeper and a top character, Joe Hart. I think it's a brilliant sight. It's almost seamless, isn't it? You must have had some big battles with Peter Schmichael. You must have. Yeah, but I played with one of the best David Seaman, of course. In England, number one. And then obviously, I played with Big Ludo, Loona McCloskey, the big check goalkeeper at West Hammy was brilliant. So Neville Southall with the national team, as well. He was your favourite, wasn't he? Oh, never, yeah. So I was lucky I played with great goalkeepers. You're talking about, you know, Joe Hart previously as well. Both these guys, Schmichael as well. They've played in big games, big clubs, you know, for the national teams as well. And, you know, set aside their goalkeeping attributes. What they bring is much more than that. It's leadership qualities. It's, you know, dealing with pressured situations. You know, they're both their game awarenesses, well, understanding the game. You've done that throughout their career for a long time, over a long period of time. So that can only add value. Can't dance on to the kickoff. We're going to get your predictions for this weekend next. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Let's go, let's go home. Go Radio Football Show, Pulcuny, Shillicare, and Jon Harrison tomorrow night at Marguerite, we'll be here. Along with Craig Moore. So all the nations here, Shillie. So we've got the top Welshman here. Get yourself from a Scotland manager. And Craig Moore here tomorrow, of course. And Oz who played in World Cups as well. Join sadly for you. Wales didn't make it to the US, but we have won one penalty. Away from it. I know. Do you know what, from all the, the sacked Robert Page, or if Robert, if Dan James would have scored that penalty, Robert Page would have gone down as the most successful Welsh manager of all time. Because you'd be the only manager of Lead Wales to two major tournaments. So that's how precarious, you know, the game can be, in particular, in management, Shillie, you know all about that. So yeah, it's just, it's crazy isn't it? Yeah, it says, isn't it? For Scotland's men, that's a point of overall, Shillie. What did you feel after the campaign? Yeah, I think that's a point. And because beforehand, I think when you looked at the group, the draw, I thought it was quite favourable. And that's not being disrespectful to any other teams in there. I think it was a favourable draw. When you looked at the previous euros, that was a tough one. You know, I have in England, in the group, Czech Republic, Croatia. That was a tough one. This one, I thought we were more than capable of getting out the group. And, you know, the last game, the hungry game, just, you know, it was so tough. It was a tough watch. Didn't think we created enough to win games. And ultimately, that's we're talking about how, you know, you value strikers. And we just didn't do enough for some reason. But I think prior to that, you know, the success, the friendly games, it wasn't as good. No, it was going into it. The form wasn't great, was it? No, it wasn't great. But that's, I still think that Steve Clark has done an amazing job. He's got a group of players that, you know, I think it's the best group of players we've had for a while. I think that's why it makes it so disappointing that we didn't get out the group, because it was a great opportunity for us. Are we too cautious? And I know, obviously, Gareth Southgate has gone at England, and they levelled that at him, that's too cautious. We know it's a different situation. The depth of squad that he had there, and they got to the final. But for Scotland with Steve Clark, he has done a great job. But is he a bit too safe? I don't think genuinely any manager goes in with the approach to say, you know, we'll keep the ball and we're going to, you know, wait till the last 15 minutes to go and attack, in terms of game plans. No, I don't think it's like that. I think you have to give respect to the opponents. I thought the Euros, when I think about the World Cup last year, whether it was a time of year or not, I thought we had some fantastic games in the World Cup last year. In the Euros, I was disappointed with the games in general. But I don't think any manager has that approach. It just happens sometimes because the games are so tactical. You know, it's like, you know, all the team didn't want to give anything away. And you have to have that extra little bit of quality to break teams down, which we didn't have in those games. We also spoke about Scotland's chances, Paul, before going into it. Now we knew the opening game, you know, in Munich against Germany was going to be difficult. All right, they got a thumped five. It would have been better if they could have, you know, not because she did five. Maybe maybe in a bit more, but listen, I'm glad you're that strong. John, see by kickoff time, we were all thinking, well, we'll get at least a draw, honestly. Honestly, when are they, Shelley, everyone, well, maybe not everyone. Most people, I think we'll get a draw. That's what I mean, five, maybe in the first game. Maybe just psychology and maybe maybe just talk a lot about the player. Mentally, I just think we spoke about the players, right? We spoke about McTomany. And we spoke about again, we spoke about the talent that Gilmore has. And will Gilmore play, you know, will he play, will he feature, will he start games? And then, but sometimes Steve Clark can do only once he can, he can set a team up, Shelley, you know, and then all of a sudden the players, they have to ask themselves questions. When they come away, were they good enough? Did they put in the best performance that they could on the biggest stage? The answer, the answer is no. Because he never created in one of the games, he never looked short, was it? Which game was that? So, you know, maybe they didn't really, didn't have the conference to go and express themselves. You know, it was a really tough game that they had first of all. But I just think you look at the quality players and did enough of Scotland's real top players perform at the level that was needed. Well, they probably didn't and they probably know that because nobody goes out. Everyone wants to give their best, it just didn't happen for us. What about the women's game? What are you thinking just now, time of change? I think we've turned a little bit of corner. I've asked that question, you know, the previous kind of nations, because they changed the format and the women's side of as well. And our campaign wasn't great, you know, we got relegated. But it just takes a couple of results to change things and flip them on their head. The team have now been promoted back to the top category, which will help massively. So, you know, I see a shift in change. It takes time and especially a national team because you don't have the players together. So, that in itself was hard. Going back to the main team, I think, you know, it's still credit to the players in Steve Clark. Because I think they brought a lot back to the country. With the national team, it's just really, really unfortunate that we, ultimately on the big stage, we just didn't perform to our optimal best. The fans were brilliant, weren't they? Fans are always brilliant. Yeah, they're absolutely incredible, and I'm sure that, you know, I didn't have the opportunity to go out there, but it absolutely looked amazing. The fans had a bow, but I can tell you, if we had a go out the group, God, it would have been amazing, wouldn't it? Of course, I know 100,000 men are going out there. I think they'll sum out there. Wow, yeah. And looking forward for the next campaign, we'd hope that when Lewis Ferguson is fit, for example, that he gets an opportunity. I know he's had some caps, but maybe it's a time, Ben Dork as well. Would you see him? I mean, if you look at all those players that you once mentioned, you know, there's real quality there. McTomany, Gilmar, McGinn, Kalam McGregor, again, Robertson, Tierney, we've got some really, really good players. Then with the younger ones coming through, absolutely, I think, you know, good to go again, the regroup. Let's not forget that's two campaigns that we've obviously got to the finals. We haven't done that for years, so they will gather more experience from it and be better moving forward. And it's just such a big boost, John, isn't it, psychologically? We've got through that glass ceiling because we couldn't. Since '90, we hadn't qualified until Euro 2000 and 2001, 2021. You're looking to qualify now in the World Cup. It would be brilliant. And for you at Wales, John, let's hope we're all there coming through. Yeah, well, that's what you want. Do you want as many of the countries there, didn't you? Yep, for sure. For nations. Yep. Wonder who's going to be the England manager? What do you think? She'll be any, what's the intel among other people? You don't care, right? You know what, it's an interesting one, isn't it? When we're north of the border, and I think the start of the tournament, Gareth Southgate was getting heavily criticized. It was amazing. And they have actually got two finals, two Euro finals back to back. It's unbelievable. But I tell you, I've been really fortunate to be in his company a few times, and he's an amazing guy. Gareth. Yep. And what he has built there, or what he did build there, was a real trust among the players. The psychology work that goes into getting them all on the same page, and being part of a team together. And I think he's done a fantastic job. I think he speaks to the media really well. And I'm sure he won't be sure he offers, but what a tough time he got for getting to do finals. Absolutely, yeah. Danny's been on saying, what about Scott McKenna? Could he find a place in Scotland? I see that Hull City are trying to sign him. So he'll be on big, big money. He's only 27 years old. Obviously, he went from Nottingham Forest, went to Copenhagen for six months. So it could be on the way south Hull City. Yeah, it was from what he had. Yeah, indeed. I think we'll look in that in for a few years before he went. Could he be a central defender for Celtic? John, what do you think? Well, listen, I think he's an option. He's big, he's strong. He goes and heads it in both boxes. You know, he's decent on the ground. Of course, he could be an option. We don't know either. I think at the moment, Paul Sally will be inundated with videos, agents. The recruitment will be dealing with scouts all day, every day. That's their job. And it's their job then to go and take their ideas, and sell that play to the manager. The manager will have the final say on who comes in, Paul. So I would imagine there's a number of centre backs, midfielders, forwards, they're selling and looking at all the time. People just don't think Brendan's on the training ground only. When he finishes training ground, when he finishes on the actual training, he goes up, upstairs, sits with the recruitment people. He says, "What do you got for me?" "Oh, come here, sign." He's watching videos. He's getting players to think about and to watch and things that agents. And so I would imagine that's really, really busy trying to bring in that extra bit of quality I think they need. Such a scientific project now in terms of recruitment. It's database as well. That is huge now, isn't it? What kind of centre back do you want? Is it speed you're looking for? Is it an accumulation of things to connect with other centre backs? First question is, can you head it? Well, years ago, that would be the case. Now, there is so much data out there in terms of the player's movement or it tracks. There is so much data attached in TMZ recruitment. Very scientific approach to things. And Shirley, you've got to be an athlete now. Yeah. Everybody wants runners. Everybody wants athletic players. Well, you've got to be able to cover ground now. I mean, ups, downs, player runs past you. You've got to have that bit of desire to get back to goal side. If you don't, you won't play. Managers want that. They want players to, it's a team game now, Paul. You don't really win individuals coming new games, but it's a team game. You win as a team, you lose as a team. Individuals now sometimes, if they're really, really good, they won't get in the team. You look at, it was at Sanne at Man City when the best left wing is in the world. Wouldn't track back, wouldn't work. Didn't fit into that criteria of what Pep Guardiola wanted. Got rid of him, sold him to Bayern Munich. Just for that simple fact that he wouldn't fit into his tracking back, the work, the ethic, what you need, and he ended up moving from Man City. Ill has been on asking, Shelly, what's it like being a football manager? Nonstop, I take it. Data's part of it. She's just come on immediately when you mention data. How much of the time is spent on data and the facts and on the phones, trying to get players, okay, you're an international manager, but you've had experience at club level as well in university. Did you enjoy the job? 100% is, you know, if you want to be in a challenge environment, management is certainly challenging. There are two different skills, coaching and managing. Coaching, you are trying to look at game plans, very tactical, but when it comes to management, it's about leadership, it's about dealing with people, people's skills, and you don't always get that right because everyone's unique. In terms of recruitment, it's the hardest thing in football, because you need to get that right too, because ultimately you can have people working for you, head of recruitment, you can have all the data, but ultimately it's on your head because you're the manager, you have to be accountable for everything at the club. In terms of your race, but you don't get any, it's 24/7. It's round the clock all the time. And I think when you're involved in it, sometimes don't see it till you come back out of it. And I think you'll learn through time that you do need to try and switch off, but it is 100, 100 miles an hour. Surely it's interesting for me because you would have worked lower down, and you've also worked at the very, very peak of it, national women's manager. So when you're at that level, you get lots of help, you get in all the videos, you get in all the science, and then obviously when you go further a little bit down the ladder, where the finances are not there, and you've got to do a lot of this yourself. Whereas Brendan Rogers now, Brendan will be concentrating on again, his team right out on the training ground shape formation, working with the players, he goes into the office, and a lot of it is done for him. Obviously, he has final say, but a lot of it, they've got a team at Saturday. But when you go down the leagues, that's not there, that's not available, so that must be difficult. That's why I think it's really good for aspiring managers and coaches to work at lower levels first, because you then appreciate the work that goes into things, and you've got departments, you've got a multi-disciplinary team, as you rightly say, that support you to get the best out of the players, but at the lower levels, you don't always have the resource to do that. So what it teaches you is to be more efficient with what you do, you have to upskill, and I think that really, really helps you as you go up the levels. But there's no doubt about it that I have huge admiration for managers that work at clubs that are part-time, because they don't have the same resource, but ultimately, people want the same results. I remember David Martin, the one I went into to do the strike, is it that we're doing their two promotions. David Martin's here was running the football club, he was talking to the managers, he was doing wages, he was doing contracts, he was coaching, he was almost like a super executive, managing director, fitness coach, mental coach. It just goes to show, you know, and they were the championship club at the time, but David was doing everything. Final break, and then we're back. Tomorrow morning at breakfast, Crofti and Gradle will be here at the end of a week where Lauren's from Rentry won 5,000 pounds with Glasgow taxis, and the new game starts, I think, on Monday, although Gradle's off in holiday for a few days, he's going to enjoy the sunshames in here, he loves his football as well, as we know, there's the one that likes him, he's brilliant, he's funny, isn't he? He's just got funny bones, he's just one of those guys. Amazing, he's just got funny bones and Crofti, one of the best in the business on with him tomorrow morning, and Zoe, keeping them in check here in this very studio, from whenever you get up in the morning, you're an early riser, shall we? Early riser, and yes, you'll need to keep them in check, that's for sure. I know, can you imagine that must be one of the toughest gigs here? Um, predictions, let's get to the games. Four quick against Queen's Park, and I'm going there first, because the championship kicks off the season. What do you think? Four quick Queen's Park, who do you fancy on that one? Shelly, do you want to take that? I just said to you Zofira, I think there's going to be a lot of draws in that. Right? A lot of draws in that league this year, because it's so competitive. Really like folk art watching them last season. Great style, very attacking, different moving up a league. Queen's Park, obviously, Callum Davidson, and there he's got time under these belt now to settle in. Tough one, but I'm going to go for a folk art win. And more so, because, I mean, rented accommodation right now, and I stay next to it, Call Donaldson, who's a folk art player. So, yeah, I'm going to go for a folk art folk art win. You've got all the connections, welcome back to your prediction on that one. Folk art. Folk art on that one. Okay, let's take a final call. Frank's on the line. Good evening, Frank. Good evening, folk. Join and share. Hi, Frank. Hi, good to hear you. Hi, Frank. Frank, what's in your mind tonight? So, well, first of all, Shirley, and don't worry about the conversation of the club over there. Okay. All right, Frank. Yeah, and your own club was there as well. Okay, some years ago, Frank. We were in, yeah. You were in. That was a planned a plan. Come on, Frank, what's your point? Come on, Frank, you boy. Well, you can't, you can't throw in a wee equilibrium, and then expect when it's not an equilibrium, expect the call up just to say. Celtic planned that move to Hamilton. It was all done by previous mechanics. All right, Frank. That was there, and that was in the 90s. Okay. Well, you threw it, and you had a great range, was there. What about your own club, Frank? What are you thinking? No, the same. Yeah. What are you thinking? Well, I'm hearing a lot of Celtic fans. I don't understand it. Pardon me, having like all the boards, for not having sayings in the door and all that. Ah, Celtic fans. To take care about, yeah, let's see how we break. Chill pro. Chill pro. Yeah. Exactly, John. Because we live in a world now, but we're doing it for not by club, and get a player in five minutes. Now, we'll do a business when the Celtic board deemed fit that a deal is correct for Celtic, and the player is correct for Celtic, first of all. That is under the auspices of our manager. Now, we, same a player nowadays, John, you're more far more than me. So they're a complicated thing. We have to go 10s and 20s and millions to go, and just, you know, let's say, you know, get our player to be won. We have to wait until the, and we have another month to go here. Yeah. Can you tell me, I think it's in 19th? On the window, shut. When the shut, right at the end of the month, Frank. No, Frank, listen, we are running out of time. Frank, do you take your point? No, it's too early, John. Nobody speaks again. Yeah, because we're running out of time. John, there's no need for a panic, just now. Frank's right on that one, and why wouldn't they chat? That's four weeks to go in the window. Absolutely. I mentioned this earlier on, the recruitment team will be busy. And Frank's right, he makes a good point. You can't just sign a play in five minutes. There's, you know, there's added bonuses. There's fees added on with appearances. I can understand why the fans want it. Do you not think with social media now, there's like an narrative that all the fans are not happy. There's four weeks to go. The Europah, the Euro final was only 18 days ago. Brendan Rogers, in their view, he said it, you know, they'll look to do business, and let's see by the end of August. But I think Frank's right, you know, Brendan Rogers is an astute manager. He will know exactly what he wants, and when he wants it, simple as... Frank, thanks for your call. Thanks to you, Frank, to you in the coming weeks, because we're almost out of time. We dip 10 to the championship there. Who's going to win the championship? Who do you reckon? Shelley, give us a... Yeah, who do you think? I'll go for a party. I'll go for the Jags, yeah. I have not got a clue. I just think Livingston will be aiming to get back up right away, won't they? They won't want to stay in there. They had back-to-back promotions a few years back. You've got to aim for Livingston at the weekend, as your home has done firmly. I hope to done firmly. Partics, I saw, you know, they'd have been there earlier, about three-thovers as well. I don't know, it's too tough to call for me. It is too tough, yeah. Don Anskis, who's going down, Paul, because that's a big moment for me. Don't you worry, don't you worry, big fella. Right, let's look at Saturday in the championship. Hearts against Rangers, the first game. Shelley, what do you reckon? What's going to happen? That is a tough, tough game for both teams. Timecast, all the atmospheres, incredible. I don't know. What do you reckon, Anskis? I have to hurry, you don't? You've got for a draw, John, what do you feel? Well, I'm going to go for hearts. I think it's a very, very difficult game for Rangers. They've got loads of new signings, they've lost some big players, lots of experience. I think Hearts will fancy that for that particular reason, because Rangers have made so many changes. The players that I come in might not be quite up to speed, and I think Hearts will be right up for it at timecast. And so, I don't go against Rangers very often. No, you don't, I know. I think Bo Seligar is a very strong in the league. But I really fancy Hearts to Nick it at the weekend. Mother will Ross County? John, just a score line, what do you think? I think Mother will might bounce back from that and pull a performance the other night, don't win. I think they'll win one now. Shelley? Yeah, Mother will win for me. What about the Derby? Shelley? Dundee United? Dundee won. Dundee, yeah, yeah. Their experience. I think we don't really end last season. I think if they can continue that, Tony Docker has done a brilliant job. Great manager. I was interested to see how he'd flip from being coached to manager. He's done it. He's done it brilliant. John, why do you want to hard one to call that one? I'm going to go. I hate seeing draws. Yeah, I'm going to go draw. Sittin' Marin again, steps, but Sittin' Marin on tonight. So, we'll talk more about them tomorrow after the game. Celtic Commandant, join your game on Saturday. Yeah, I think we'll be doing the revealing of the flag and everything else. And 4.30, kick off. I think Celtic will win. I think they'll win. Although Kilmanic will exit on against Celtic last season, and Celtic will have to take Kilmanic very seriously, which they will, I think Celtic will win three or four. I've got to be honest. Shelley, what do you reckon? So fast for Kilmanic after playing in Europe as well. I think Celtic will win. You've reckoned Celtic to win. And on Monday night, seems a while away. St Johnson Aberdeen. Shelley, what do you think? Can't Albertine win? Albertine, you reckon? I think Albertine, and I also think Albertine third place this season. You reckon? I do, yeah. Wow. Jimmy Tillman's been a good start. We've been talking, it's very early. We've still got the window for four weeks, as Frank mentioned there. But Shelley, can range us... What do you feel for the title overall? Look, I think everyone that's connected with Scottish football would see that Celtic are favourites, given last season. I will make judgement when the transfer deadline is done. But don't write off hearts being right up there again either. Hibbs, obviously, David Grey coming in as manager. I'd be interested to see how they do when Malcolm McKigh being a sport director there. There's lots of interest in things that could happen. But for me, I think you've got to wait till the transfer window closes to see what the squads look like. John? Well, I think we had a race last season doing it. We had a real competition. I think on the back of Rangers with such a big rebuild, you know, Ryan Jack, my goal. Lunge drum, you know. They're seeing a goal center, haven't they? Yeah, maybe. I find it very difficult for Rangers to be up there, challenging like they were last season. Only on the back of all the changes. Paul, on integrating the new signings and everything else. So, I think it's something tighter to lose, really. Thanks for coming in, Shelley. Good to see you back in. Thank you. Looking forward to the new season. Absolutely. Can't wait. Big time. John, here we go again. Cheers, Paul. I enjoyed it. Enjoy the weekend. Thanks so much, Shelley. Thank you, Shelley. And thanks for everyone who was on. Few people waiting as well. We're back tomorrow night. So, Mark Greedy will be here. He'll be checking the latest transfers. What's happening? I'm sure you'll be in with some news. And Craig Moore will be with us as well. And then we're back every night between Monday and Friday. And the socials of being going crazy. Thanks to everyone who's doing the downloads and listening to the programme afterwards. That's it from me back tomorrow night at five coming up next. It's the news. And then afterwards, some great music with Joe Kaldi. Enjoy your evening. This is the Good Radio Football Show.
