Welcome to the table! In this episode Kimberly joins me at our table to discuss what it means to live a life worthy of the gospel. Well, at least our understanding of what it means. This is a progressive work in our lives. Maturing in Christ, growing up in our salvation and becoming like Jesus and doing as Jesus did is the heart of Ephesians 4.

The Gospel is table flipping! We don’t walk worthy so that God will love us, but because He does love us. It is motivated out of gratitude, not out of a desire to earn merit.

Our text is Ephesians 4. We are using the Message translation.

NIV 4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

Semi-correction: I said the word hallelujah doesn’t occur in scripture until Revelation 19, which is true in the NIV, ESV, NLT translations. Some other translations use the word in some of the Psalms. Here’s a search list from the CSB version.
