Jesus Christ - The Believer's Covering

Key Text: Genesis 3:21 – “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”
Introduction:
From the very beginning, sin brought shame, guilt, and separation from God. When Adam and Eve disobeyed, their first instinct was to hide and cover themselves.
But their attempt to cover their nakedness with fig leaves was symbolic of every human attempt to deal with guilt apart from God—it was inadequate.
In response, God Himself provided a covering—not made by human hands, but through the death of an innocent animal. This was the first act of atonement, and it pointed ahead to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, who would ultimately and eternally cover the sins of the world.
