The Church in general has lost its view and importance of Discipleship. It is seen as an archaic, belonging to olden times and irrelevant for modern times. But Jesus' words never are more relevant than now: a time such as a generation of social media, an age of FB, X, YouTube etc. To be a disciple it requires a steady, committed heart and willingness to sacrifice anything and everything at his feet.
