Now, from the high mountains of free America, here's the Emerald City Exile, Todd Herman. Today is the day the Lord has made, and these are the times to which God has decided we should live. Welcome to the five-minute focus. My opportunity to share with you what's coming up in the next couple hours of podcasting is your opportunity to share the show with friends. Episode 1,713, head in the studio, my dear friend, Tim Krukshek, retired Navy SEAL/CEO Bone Frog Coffee. I talked a bit about grief because he has lost the most important person in the world to him, his wife. This is the toughest battle that this war has ever fought, three deployments on our behalf. If he wasn't quite ready to talk about much of it, but you can see the parts he did talk about, what his wife meant to him. I also talked about what it is to be a Navy SEAL. He wore a T-shirt when he came in, and I asked him to explain the model on this bone frog T-shirt. Ed Byers, who received the Medal of Honor during his ceremony, used this saying, and it's a saying from somebody else, the deed is all not the glory. The younger guys took it and put it above the platoon huts as a reminder that we all, regardless of what it is, do our job not seeking attention or glory for what we do, but just doing our job. Tim shared with us the tradition that the teams have, and that is that if one of them falls during battle, they promise the other team members promise we will take care of your family. And Tim shared with us the kids that he and Liz raised, and how they're stepping in to help with bone frog. Tim makes a habit of writing a note to every single customer. Right now, people are receiving notes from his daughters. We started from day one in how we took care of them. It's building a foundation, building trust, knowing that we as their parents have their back. And talking about the process, you know, we would do room inspections with them, and just kind of get them into the thought process of doing those kind of things. We would have team meetings down in the family room where we would all sit and talk about, it could be any random topic, but allowing them to have a voice and being interactive in their lives constantly, reading to them every night, being there at their schools, being at every event that they did, because they need to know that you're present, that you're part of their lives, that it's not just lip service. It was a hard conversation for Tim, and at points we had to just back off. As the questioner too, he wasn't ready to talk about that, but he came and he shared. That's episode 1713, episode 1714. We continue to explore very, very bad racism versus very, very good racism. There's a group of course called the Patriot Front. They're making the way across the country doing what mega types do. You know how we like to walk around with our faces all masked? ♪♪ And they're marching through cities and all dressed alike, because that's what we do. And there's great reason to believe that these are feds, who are simply trying to stoke division and draw people into this, but apparently this group is very, very bad. There's very, very bad racist things, because it's very bad racism. There's then the very good example of very, very good racism that we'll talk about. And that has to do with government policy, very good racism. There's the low key racism of the soft bigotry of low expectations. But then there's the very, very bad racism. It's very, very bad racism when Revolver.News says that black people are causing problems on cruises, problems like this. Hardly the images you would expect from a 10 day cruise around the South Pacific. But it's what passengers saw aboard the Carnival Legend, a series of violent brawls. And it just took until what the last day to ruin a run's trip and ruin my honeymoon. So, you know, it was just, it was terrible. And that's not the single video. There are 10 and 20 and 30 videos like this. Now, is it racism to say blacks caused this? Yes. Blacks didn't cause this. Those people who happened to be black did. See, that is, in my judgment, a racist statement. But is it very, very bad racism to point out that those black people did this and that there is part of black culture that supports this? No, I don't think so. So we'll continue to explore very, very bad racism versus very, very good racism. There is no good racism. You know that, right? That is the five minute focus. Please do share it with friends, and much more importantly, please go with God's good grace. [MUSIC PLAYING]
