It's a national avocado day. Avocados have become a staple in many diets around the world, from toast to guacamole. The earliest evidence of avocado consumption was found in a cave in Pueblo, Mexico, and is nearly 10,000 years old. In fact, in the Mayan calendar, the 14th month was represented by the symbol for the avocado. Today, avocados are celebrated for their health benefits and versatility in the kitchen. So whether you smash them on toast, blend them in a smoothie, or enjoy them as is, avocados have a rich history worth seeing. I have a feeling that there's a guacamole place close by that I'm being drugged to here in a little bit. Absolutely. I love avocado. I'm actually looking forward to trying some guac again today, to have them in a big fan my own life, but I'm starting to enjoy them. They're getting wiser as you're getting older. You know, there's something to that, right? From delicious fruits to delightful dogs, it's also National Mutt Day. This day is all about celebrating mixed breed dogs and the joy they bring into our lives. But here's an interesting tidbit. Did you know that many famous dogs throughout history were mutts? One of the most famous was Sergeant Stubby, a mixed breed dog who became a hero during World War I. Stubby participated in 17 battles, helped his regiment by alerting them to gas attacks, and even captured a German spy.
