and we are back it is the proper MMA podcast summer job with you for another week it's Friday just a week shy of UFC three or four and Joe I was a recovery bin for that night as soon as I started talking their voice is done a bit a bit husky but yeah as the week bin before we touch on the the night that was Sunday morning I suppose really yeah tough recovery yeah Sunday Sunday spent in bed I woke up I think through the tap through obviously the times woke up fairly early didn't get much sleep and then I've been on recovery mode ever since I've been ill I'm about Monday Tuesday onwards just about getting over it now so yeah not Dana White's biggest fan right now not not the organizers biggest yeah biggest supporters think it was a bit daffed like said the end of the night there were people asleep the crowd were up and down obviously for the great performances even possible not to get up but I feel like when there was a bit of a a slower match or slower action the crowd definitely died off with that when normally obviously the UK cards the UK fans appreciate it and on a non-stop whether it's a great five rubbish one or whatever you could you could feel the time long week but yeah what an incredible night I'm absolutely loved the moments more than more than anything I've done this year yeah fantastic yeah it was tough yeah my Sunday included a barbecue that isn't organised we've got us into so yeah a couple hours sleep and then back on it bottle of wine a couple of gin and yeah the rest of the week's been pretty slow to be honest as you said some great moments on there let's just touch on a couple of them before we get into this this week's card and I suppose I don't know for you but a highlight of the night for me was was Tommy Aspenol walking out of him and Paddy bought fantastic entrances like he said there were seven decisions in a row on the card so it's hard for the crowd to keep the momentum going it was really up and down until those two fights really which were both highlights but some Aspenol coming in and doing what he did against Curtis Blades another first round stoppage what did you make of it and now the calls obviously that Jones has to be next has to be don't he I think he's wiped out the division now Tom there's not actually many fighters left room to compete against the set John Jones he's absolutely unbelievable and again for me he always starts to fight looking a bit nervous so I always get a bit worried in them first seconds but then as soon as that 10-20 second mark it you don't get to see them no so he knocks him out within and you're in four punches so yeah it's incredible he's knocked out power and set his speed for other heavyweight divisions just something like we've never seen combined with knock out power is is is deadly and obviously we know he's got the jujitsu background from his father so yeah I'm up for it I think you I don't think John Jones is able to compete him let Tommy Aspenol rule the division you saw how much the English fans got behind him I think he's a likable character come on Dana provide the goods and sell the biggest heavyweight fight we've seen in years the stage one isn't the biggest Dana so you're the last it's not the biggest the biggest he's Aspenol video and it will break every record let's have it it is crazy don't they but we're in sort of a weird spot with it the fact that this there's John's steepé fight is still the one that they want to do for kind of legacy purposes rather than than anything else but but Tom Aspenol everyone's to see and fight John Jones we've kind of got this fight with steepé which is is decent you know what on paper you would want to watch it but for for sport and the division as a as a whole that this is the fun that that we need to see and it's just a weird spot to be in the fact that if these two do fight in in November at MSG and Tom does go in there as the backup then he's waiting for John Jones again and potentially you're talking I don't know what we're talking international fight week in 2025 to see John Jones again if he's gonna even bother fighting again and you might call it a day if he beats steepé yeah well you know that's what's coming don't you know that thing that calls to John John's been tweeting anti so that he sees it whether he just retires he's always said I think he's gonna retire after the steepé fight we need to see that fight for the division for the legacy I don't think like you said I think unless steepé pulls out I don't think John Jones fancies that fight why ruin is why ruin is obviously forget the Matt Hamill uh loss through the elbows uh the undefeated career of John Jones in his old age losing to the upstart I thought he doesn't make much sense for Jones unless he's come unless he's that confident he can win otherwise he'll sail off so I've never had I don't like fighters pulling out Sam but I hope steepé uh I hope steepé does pull out he don't need this fight he's falling free you see now he doesn't need this fight hopefully pulls out let's ask for an all coming and the rest of the USP in the world is very happy yeah that'd be the the thing obviously when it was steepé it wasn't to make it in the end and we'd get that fight uh anywhere with Tom stepping in but yeah it just it just feels a real awkward spot and I feel for Tom a little bit he's in this great position but then also you know he's he's gonna have to wait a little bit now and potentially wait longer if John strings it out but as we said a couple of weeks ago after three or four and Tom said it in the press conference after was he called for like a bit of a mini tournament that he faced Pereira on that job steepé card so I don't see that that happening but the fact that he's the best thing probably he can do now is is go to MSG and really make some noise in fight week and you know if Jones does win you know gets in the cage and gets in front of Jones um I'll add a Sanya did against the DDP yeah and really put it on John Jones and almost kind of force that fight that if John Jones does want to back away and retire that you know he's gonna get some stick for it yeah I think so yeah um rest of the night Sam love um I think we saw someone who can rise up the divisions very early on in the night Sam Patterson I'll give him a shout out absolutely destroyed Kiefer Crosby um obviously sad Molly but Molly's heart was undefeated once or even though she lost on the night what uh she had some moments where the fans went crazy she kept fighting she kept going fair play to Molly um obviously we had wins for part of me we had we had wins for Arnold Allen um he he gave a good performance I think you could see the levels rise when Arnold come on he looks like a looks like a top man in his in his division but I wanted to bring something to you Sam Makayev what is your opinions on Makayev getting cut from the u.s. him announcing it straight after obviously he calls plenty of issues fight night uh fight night and obviously in the lead up uh it's all been reported his sucker punch he's doing it he's being just I think a tough fighter to handle but does Makayev deserve to be cut from the UFC undefeated probably one or two fights with probably one fight away from a title fight now Sam I've to do his win at the um uh last weekend so what what what is your thoughts in the let's say it yeah obviously there's a lot obviously happen doesn't that away with the the stuff of the apex with the banal cap and that that kind of spoiled over into a boiled over into this week you know with the thing at the hotel and then arranging the picture you know for the the muslim brotherhood and then he sucker punched cap at the at the end of it um so from that point of view you can you can maybe see the UFC don't want to deal with it but then at the same time every every time one of these incidents normally happen then it comes out and the press conference and he's he's pretty blasey about it this is the fight game this is what happens you know if i told you the amount of stuff that does happen you know behind the scenes at the p.i. or whatever then you wouldn't quite believe it so for the makayev to get the boot you know kind of basis off this and obviously his fight style but then you can look at so many fighters that have the same fight style that you know want to come out and wrestle and and shoot and you know and and just ground out decisions so from that point of view you've got to say he's he's hard done by because there are other cases of difficult fighters to deal with behind the scenes who are you know causing rockersies and stuff like that and then there are also plenty of boring fighters maybe you put the two together you know the fact that he's kind of dynamite outside the cage and boar and boar into watch essentially inside the cage the majority of the time that that is you know recipe for the UFC to say no more but the fact you've got a guy undefeated in there you know undefeated in the UFC as well taken out ranked guys as well we will look at Umar in the men event this week you know he's not got a win against anyone inside the top 15 undefeated guy all these makayevs come in all right in a smaller division you know and he's taking out guys in that in that top 10 and he's on his way to a title shot so yeah I think you can maybe see the the UFC's point of view and the flyweight division hasn't been the most um sexiest division in the past it was you know he's pretty much on the verge of getting the boot at one stage you know before triple C came on the scene and then we had the you know the quadrilogy between Moreno and Figurado which kind of breathed new life back into it but yeah I think he's hard done by overall the fact that you got a undefeated guy in the top 10 surging towards a title shot really and you know probably would probably beat most of the top five on his night all right not in an exciting style but maybe that's just the way the sports go and I don't know but I think overall you've got to say makayev is it's hard done by yeah yeah and then the final one in the final ward obviously another another victory so yeah I think good night for the British a couple of lobsters in there but I think we were seven to three so I think I'm not mistaken yeah I think something like that oh yeah I wish we had Paddy in there what did you make a Paddy and and the now he's broke into the top 15 with that win what's my my car now next obviously he's matched against Sendini for September what do you recommend what's Paddy's ceiling now because he's had that stick of oh he's never gonna met the top 15 he's not a top 10 never gonna win title but he's uh he's broken in there now and and just showed you know that when he gets the opportunity to submit someone he is devastating that's a tough question what is he's ceiling um I don't know I don't know some I don't want to be I like Paddy obviously brings something different his stand up still needs work hopefully it's slowly getting there and I think this time I think in a nice victory like that works well for him because it gets him up the sprankings but also gives him more time to work on his stand up I think that's the same with the makayev one isn't it yeah my car now is another guy with you know good submissions he's improved his stand up as well but you know if you can beat my car now who is you know he's ranked 10 at the minute if he beats sendini you maybe he moves up a little bit and then you're looking at if he does have that fight then it's uh knocking on the door of the top 10 yeah yeah what is ceiling I'd say I'd say just below a title fight I just I don't know maybe he gets a title fight but a day in a white group leads obviously got 200k not want me surprised if he got one eventually with another win or so but I think he's just done that I'd say top five is his potential I don't seem being a champion sorry Paddy do all of you I just can't see it don't think he's got the power and the I just don't think he's got that yeah that size to handle them top them top knockout artists at the top of that division it's a scary division and I just don't think Paddy's got the stand up to match so yeah I'm gonna go top five in the division but a couple more exciting wins for the English crowd and Paddy does everyone very proud and then one disappointment obviously main event congratulations Baham Muhammad came in did his business and yeah off night fully on Edwards and that you said it you know early dawn that he just doesn't look like he's got any any energy Leon and yeah just couldn't get himself back into the fight at all no no they tried didn't they tried the fifth round wonder the coach getting into him again just yeah he's got that in him Leon and I think the mix of the time the time he's got to be a slight excuse and all the fighters have said oh well I've done it like that and it it still affects you whether it does or not you're a tomatoes 7 and in sleep all day like it it's impossible to adjust to that I'm sorry you'd have to with the light with the how your body systems work based on the sunlight it's just impossible to fully adjust and I feel I do feel bad for him but he does have that law we've seen it in pretty much every fight maybe other than the second Desmond fight where we just steady along and just got the victory but the rest of them he has this law we just he doesn't seem to get rid of it time I don't know what he needs to do to get rid of that because he's not going to get back in that title frame again unless he unless he finds a way to have a constant output of energy for our whole fight and when he's off mixed with that law he ends up he ends up getting decision by Bilal Muhammad which none of us want was possible you saw when Leon did have his energy in that food round beat them up beat Bilal in the grappling at the end of the fifth he finally had the revival and took Bilal and started dominating and cut him up so it's just yeah it's so frustrating because we've all seen him doing normally just pulls it off I don't know Sam give us what do you think to that because it's for me I'm getting so frustrating watching him every every single fighter watching them come on Leon and obviously he's coached everyone says it come on well he pulls it off and I'm sorry I'm sorry yeah and it was frustrating but yeah maybe on surprise everything come on haven't they and said that there was a bit of a back injury encampment and things like that which you know may have contributed to to the wrestling side of things so yeah hard to know he did seeming quite good spirits in you know good confidence levels during the week I don't know I mean maybe underestimated Bilal from the first fight a little bit as well I'm not sure but yeah just just frustrating really and just through the whole fight was yeah quite hard to watch at times because you know you know it's in there with him but like I said a few factors in there with it with the time and stuff he said himself in the cage you felt tired so but you know championship mentality and all that you know he's a guy that's got the belt and you know said he wanted to match GSP's record and stuff and then you know due to the time difference and things like that and there you know wasn't able to pull it off so you kind of look at it and from his reign and probably yeah disappointing way for it to end at this point and next for both of them potentially a chef cap for Bilal maybe potentially a title eliminated for for chef cap against Della Madelena if they want to do that first and let Bilal sit on the belt a little bit and then for Leon the kind of Ian Gary thing was something we talked about in the in the car straight away and I think he's been backed up by Leon's coach as well this week he said you know the route back to the title goes to Ian Gary so that could be a real interesting fight I don't know the timeline potentially of that but people have said it's you know maybe another excuse to come back to the UK a Birmingham show or even over to Ireland to give Ian Gary that headline slot over there UFC Dublin Gary Edwards maybe the end of the year earlier it's really Jan it's got to be UFC Dublin Antit salmon with UFC Dublin Conner got his UFC Dublin and I'd love to see a full fight now Chuck Conner I don't think you could go to Dublin without Conner being there yeah my thinking on the kind of thing if you did it like if you could do this for like December and Conner's gonna fight Chandler or maybe November maybe I don't know not on the turnaround potentially but we could get that McGregor Chandler press conference redone in Dublin on fight week yeah six weeks out from a McGregor Chandler fight whether that's going to take place in December or January like it yeah that be a good way of doing that Sam so yeah no it's got to be Gary versus Edwards let's have it modified yeah be interesting to be interesting to say yeah well that could be the comment on the McGregor card potentially as well if they wanted to do that and give Gary that slot that he desires alongside Conner so yeah let's move on to Abu Dhabi we did our first draft pick head-to-head last week which the score finished 4-4 in the end I needed Leon for the win yeah in the last you add Molly yeah which was your your only defeat on on there but 4-4 in the end yeah good not really but we picked a lot of British fighters I had Rodriguez in my team but other than that I think we were pretty much picking the British fighters so I pretty much got got a clean sweep on the Brits apart from Leon and Molly yes we Abu Dhabi it's an interesting card and you're the giraffe man so all that you pick it take us through the the the giraffe but you think you're going to go first this week now in first this week so after I give you the honest last week um yeah so draft quick run through we're doing five rounds again um we both pick a fight uh uh obviously normally based on odds based on win ability um and then we go at it like like Sam said 4-4 last week it was in uh it was a good week we both had a very successful night uh what a way to start us off with a nice drill but I'm coming for the win Sam I get the start this week so let's go um we're in round one I'll pick first Sam and I am picking Davison Figuero has my first round pick he's again small on Cheeto Bear on the night um I just um reason for this pick I think Figuero is an absolute animal of a fighter I think he's unbelievable I think if he didn't have the weight cut issues he'd still be he'd still be the champion in the weight below uh he's he's got power in his hands he's got he's got everything out he's grappling good enough for me Cheeto Bear I think it's had his run now don't want to don't want to say it's over for him but I think he had a good run followed the height from all the old mally drama he's been beat by old mally now I don't see him I don't see him coming back up he's a good fighter got some good knockout obviously good kicks decent stand up a bit of grappling uh I think Figuero beats him in the stand up too much power too much speed the grappling fairly cool for me uh maybe very maybe just but I think Figuero gets this I think he's too fast too powerful big array though easy win to get me started on the night some round one easy win uh I'm not gonna weigh in because I potentially uh maybe um but uh I feel my first round pick see a lot of these I'm kind of 50/50 um so I'm going to let some of the bigger fights play out a little bit and I'm going to go for Victoria do the cover on the prelims Russian fighter so kind of on the kind of home territory hear a lot of the Russians tend to fight in in Abu Dhabi she's 25 straw wait she's 8 and L in a career 2 and on the UFC got a win on the contender series as well coming up against Sam Hughes in in this one and I think she just looks at a bit of a class above uh to be honest uh so I think she's gonna get the win over Hughes here who's uh 8 and 6 as a pro um I just think uh do the cover looks looks too good um she's got one knockout win uh in in the UFC uh that was on a debut in a fight night uh last uh July uh beating Estella Nunez in round one uh she's had a couple of decision wins uh as well uh Jinou Yufrei uh last time out uh in October she's had a a council bout due to a medical issue this uh this year so far so this is the first out end of the year uh 8 and L uh and I think she uh does the business here uh of the Sam Hughes who is uh let me just get a UFC record obviously losing record in the UFC three and five um so yeah um and with the Russians uh to kick things off and get uh get my my first win early doors well I keep Sam um I am actually going to go uh someone I think at the very bottom of the uh of the fight night I've got Cedric Dumas uh winning he's a 28 year old fighter um he'd lost last time out but he's opponent's 10 he's got a 10 and 9 record his last win was two years ago um he's opponent's dentist to you Lou I can't wow he's doing it uh he's lost to Robocop and uh Christian Leroy Duncan who we watched uh obviously last weekend stam sort of freaks out out to them uh but Dumas 28 years old uh the bigger fighter the longer reach I think he gets this one he's last win he's last lost sorry he did lose to no certain no certain rosabua but however good fighter uh but I think he's got this he had a bit of hype around him before the no certain loss uh but I think he's got too much for to you Lou Lynn not bad and I yeah I think Dumas wins this one comfortably so I think it's the second or third fight of the night uh or maybe the first actually could fight to the night so get early on we're nice and early on the night and hopefully I'm one or two get us started nice I like it uh right so my second pick I think I'm gonna go for I'm gonna go for the bullet I want to go off for Shara uh Maga Madoff against Michelle I'll say shook in that comment event this one a short notice uh at 185 so we saw Maga Madoff not too long ago in fact both of these guys fought in June uh in the last outings uh but Shara and they're bringing him in he's 13 and now uh isn't he uh so that this Dagestani who doesn't wrestle just a pure stand-up uh fighter uh won loads of kickboxing champions or championships away from from the UFC uh two and no inside the UFC he kind of struggled a little bit last time I ended up getting the finish in the end against Tracole but it was in the midst of that Chimaya dropping out of the card and everything moving around so fast we ended up with a different fight I think I think you have two fights books that week and Tracole um he was supposed to fight the week before I flew over uh last minute uh to uh Saudi Arabia uh and struggled with the pace a little bit and became a bit of a punching bag in the end um but I think this should be a good fight against Alesserchuk um who it's tough to put away he's never been um finished in his UFC career I think maybe I don't think he in fact at all in his in his pro career uh he's a Polish fighter lost to other scrap he's been submitted quite a few times in his defeat he's a five submission defeats so I think this one's gonna fully take place uh on the feet he's got six knockouts he lost to Kevin Holland last time I lost a Pereira recently uh as well and Peral by submission but I think this is just gonna be a pure scrap on the feet and I think Shara who um I think stays you know pretty ready in in the gym can show some of his skills in this fight he's gonna be eager to come forward hopefully he doesn't try and wrestle um Alesserchuk but I think it's gonna be an opportunity for Magga made off to to look good and she'll some of his uh his moves uh his classier strike and I think he's probably got a bit too much uh for Alesserchuk so I'm I'm gonna go for for the bullet to uh get the win I like it well we're around three now this wet normally gets a bit tougher where the riskier picks obviously the high the high odds fighters have uh have gone out there where we'll see what comes up but for my food round picks Sam oh this is tough there's a lot of there's a lot of uh I'm gonna go Corey Sandegan that's the most kind I could have waited I'm worried because I won't it's Corey but I feel like I could have waited later on in the fit but I don't know where your head's that way everything but I like Sandegan and I want a fighter in the I want my fighter in the main event uh it's against obviously the underfeed to do Marner Magga Medov show the people watching I'll get a bit of stick for this one uh but really right Sandegan if you listen to it he's got a really interesting uh outlook on fighting the way he does things he's very intelligent listen to him he's the one the two on the general roger and I need time I think I've listened to the full podcast full out which made me with my ADHD I find tough but I knew it for I had to do it for Corey uh he's so interested got obviously incredible knockouts got grappling so fast got that uh he's like an evolution of um he's like an evolution of uh oh my god dumb uh Dominic Cruz dumb Cruz yeah sorry that's embarrassing yeah he's that he's an evolution of dumb crews I feel like similar book work patterns probably similar grappling book Corey's more athletic more powerful uh I think he's been to market Umar needs a lot and always a nerd you know I'm making my dog and they don't get many losses but I think Corey's got another type one more type so fighting him and maybe a potential win uh so come on Corey Sandegan I think he's got too much in the stand up and I think he can handle the grappling he's just too quick on the face he's just too quick like yeah I think the speed gets him here gets him either TKO or just a decision big tree because he's handled the grappling let's have it Corey I'm back in here interesting yeah I like caught yeah I'm kind of a bit 50-50 I think there's like big potential in no mega-med off and it's probably one of those guys even though he's not got no resume that is he actually that good that he just comes in your ragdolls or you know someone in the you know in the top five yeah I still might pick him so I won't let too much into it um I'm gonna go for um I don't know if to go for a bigger name or lower down the card yeah I want to go lower I want to go uh Jordan Vuchenich um and Debutant here from the UK just signed fresh out of Cage Warriors this fight uh for his opponent Kuta Ladsay fell out around Kuta Ladsay and he's on a good win streak um a submission specialist reminds me a little bit of of kind of pimmler that you know any opportunity for for us to be straight in there uh taking a neck and I just think coming in here no pressure he's only recently fought as well and the only fought um on the end of July on the the Cage Warriors 1-7-4 show I've got a first round submission there so he's fresh just that account um so he's you know um not took too much damage in in that fight against Adrian Kepa in that common event on Cage Warriors and I think he comes in here and and puts on a bit of a show I said I think there's any pressure on him really he's been waiting for this opportunity but he called for it directly after the uh the win uh in that last fight and I think he can come in and and get a submission win here of a Gurem Kuta Ladsay who's 12-4 at all uh as a pro is a UFC record he's a losing one one and two um he lost to Elvis Brenner who's on this card uh knocked out by him um in his last fight he got submitted in a grappling fight uh last October and he's he's lost out in against Martin Held at ADXC1 a first round arm lock submission so he has been submitted uh but in the in that grappling contest last time out uh change of opponent as well was due to fight Abdul Karim al-Sawidi so the change of opponent the losing record if you turn it it's going to come in and get the win like it's um like it um always good to spot the English fighters so uh yeah and with you Sam um round four now this way it gets very interesting uh I'm gonna pick someone with the worst accent the fakest accent in in the sport I'm gonna go on with Kenzie doing she's against Lupi Lupi Godinez uh I think doing does this I think she's got too much in the grappling she should have been she she obviously left the sport from pregnancy and I think some other reasons out of the cage uh a few injuries as well I think she was on the path to becoming to getting a title fight then she's lost two in a row to Lemos and Jessica and Drade both absolute animals obviously we know I'll go both are so uh I think doing has too much for Godinez she's also lost a last couple so I think this is a get right fight for doing uh she looks very fit very athletic in all the videos I've seen so far the same we said that about Molly so I thought if that's the if that's the way we if that's my bad luck charm for this draft Sam I'm after to go away from someone looking picked an athletic uh we're getting them felled in shape for the win uh but I'm gonna give it one last go what I think doing obviously has too much wrestling looks like stand-up's getting better I think she I think she just does too much she is a big woman she's big strong powerful uh and that normally goes well in the women's divisions at the uh at the mid to lower guard it's normally was more powerful and then the better ones come through so yeah I think Dan gets the win here too big too strong too powerful for Lupi Godinez nice I'm gonna go then four uh I think this could be our first opposition head-to-head in these drafts all right I'm gonna go I want to go for Cheetah against Devison the figureado obviously the main concern obviously is is the beat that he took by you know Molly lost time out in that in that title fight but I think Cheetah is kind of one of those guys that he's kind of hard to get away from when he loses it he generally comes back I think he's only ever lost back-to-back fights once in his his whole career and he's you he's had a lot of fights there Cheetah of error he's been in the UFC for a long time you know he's a veteran of this division he's kind of been one of those guys that's slow progress because he wins a couple then he loses one at the pivotal moment when he you know he should have been knocking on the door maybe a title shot a little bit sooner an notorious slow starter as well really in fights he's left himself chasing a lot of the times I think here I think figureados come in and look good and I'm moving up he's wrestled a little bit more obviously beat Rob font first timeout and then Cody Garbrandt in in the second but I think the font fight he was catching him a little bit on the feet and then against Garbrandt I think Garbrandt looked good in that first round as well and then figureado decided you know the best way to get Garbrandt out of there taken to the ground he couldn't get back up and got the submission but I think Vera's got decent takedown defense he's obviously been at this division stronger I think he's a big guy for for the division as well never been stopped obviously oh molly you know put his best on him you still can get him out of there Cheetah of error so I don't think figureados gonna have the power to stop him on the feet I don't think he's gonna be able to out wrestle him either so I think if Vera can and this is why he's down in my picks that it's if rather than he is gonna do this because he can be a bit of a slow start but if you can come out of the gate a little bit faster and I was listening to his press conference yesterday and he said that in his career he's never really warmed up before which is pretty stupid really when you think about it but he said he pretty much just sits in the back and sits on the couch and his coaches are trying to get into warm up and he just doesn't really bother and he started doing it in this company he's decided that that's the way to go but you know if you can come out a little bit faster out the gate I think he can be figureado he's punch out put even though he is a slow starter it's almost double that in the UFC of figure radars looking at this fight this week so I think from that point of view you know he can out strike him and like I said he's got he's got an unbelievable chin figureado I mean Vera sorry so I think there is potential here that figure radio this is a bad match up for for him I think he can beat most guys in this top fire but I think Chito you know could be that guy that he comes unstuck again and maybe has to take one step back and look at another route into into title contention so I'm gonna go for Vera oh wow there we go well that means we uh that means it'd be tough to draw other things around the card we should get a definitive winner Sam if we're all free for free going into the later rounds of this draft we're on round five the final round this is obviously where your risky fun picks coming where you again maybe you get even against the odds I keep looking at one name Sam I keep looking over I can't do it in one of my favorites of all time I think you're like me I've tried with not picking but but back in this putting a little cheeky bet on this fight of this week I think I know what you mean I'm going to do it I'm going for Elle Capone I think we can beat Chiezza I'm not convinced by Chiezza at all I don't think he's that I think he's don't think he's that good he's a bachelor uh obviously Tony's uh Tony's lost to Pimblick but Pimblick did more on the stand up I think Chiezza's lost the last two free for there he's not warning yeah he's lost the last three or four now I don't think Chiezza's heads in the game he's really sick not like he's that much younger he's just like he said he's a grappler Ferguson still looks hungry he wants to he wants to win his career on a win you can see him screaming out for ending his career on a win I've never been that impressed by Chiezza it's if you grapple with him he can get that re-naked choke on his head just don't see him in the game if this is a retirement fight for maybe both of them she has is better on the mag better doing other things Ferguson's got that hunger and I think he gets the win in retired I think he can finally send his self off with a win I think that's what he's looking for like this limiting three he's got one more winning aim come on Tony he's stand up slowing out definitely definitely not the same fight uh definitely more conservative with any movement pretty steady boxer and just likes to and but I think I think he can do it and it's so wrong and he probably can't but I'm going Tony Ferguson because he's one of my favorite fighters as a teenager in university when I'd house my UFC nights my friends convinced all my friends to love UFC it was through my love of that man doing what he does and I'm uh I'm sticking by him to get one mass win some yeah go on Tony you know I've also been time with that I had to do some stuff this week some brine stuff and I'll see you guys like the the third pick yeah in an ounce gosh should I go for Ferguson should I just point in there because it feels to me a little bit like you know when it looks like a team that's bottom of the league and in football and it's like they've lost seven in a row and then they play like whoever a decent like mid table you know team pushing for the you on Europe or the playoffs or whatever and then although some they just get the shock win that just just comes because you you're losing sleep the street cannot go on forever it can if you get cut on your it's higher but if you're gonna keep coming out there eventually something's just gonna drop and the and that you said you know cheers uh you know that this fight was scheduled a few years ago both tough winners didn't happen in the in the first instance at lightweight but Ferguson that well to wait fully training for this this one camp at 170 he was a obviously a well away before it just it just could work I've just got this thing right just Ferguson's just gonna get a submission on him and and it'll be all over so I'm with you on the Tony Ferguson show definitely with you um let's hope he can do it but not think he retires does he if he wins he's doing enough he's he'll take another seven fight losing strength to to get one more win but it's only but most and this is the most if you're with one win Tony you've been a fan favorite for years you put on the most exciting fight you get a win telling and wave off the crowd and say well call on Tony yeah it's a lot too much at the press thing that one of their guys I said like my client's seven and now in the U.S. he's on this win streak and he's just been caught you're seven seven on the bounce do you think that's fair that you're still here and he's not but Tony don't care but yeah I go with Tony with you so my last pick then I'm gonna have to go head to head again I'm gonna have to go Uma I like it even though I'm not convinced I do like Sanhegan and I've kind of moved more and come more in the Sanhegan count but that's like I said before I think there's you know the the potential with with Uma Gamedov is Uma Gamedov is put his nips together there but with Uma Gamedov is that he is just that good and Danish right it's one of those guys isn't it it's like he doesn't have a top 15 or anyone in the current top 15 win but Dan is pretty much saying you know there's no guys that want to take the fight against him they're all scared of giving up that position in the in their unkins to to this to this guy you know and there's the potential is that he's just just too strong in the grappling he's decent on the feet as well Uma and I do think Sanhegan gives him real problems with his movement as you said and you know he's you're really you're fast-witching you're scramble and he'll really try to avoid being held down by Uma but I think there is that massive potential that he he just is of the family name and he can just get a hold of him and he can just hold him down so even though I kind of like Sanhegan with the experience that he's got and you know all the good wins he's got and the position he's held in the division for for such a long time that maybe Uma no go mad off is the real deal and he's gonna be my fifth pick because of that over the five rounds as well he should I think you've got looked a little tired in his last fight but again as the potential just to just to wear quarry down and and and still be there so I think this one potentially goes long and Uma gets over the decision or a late let's sub well that's the draft then stamp a interesting fight knight into a head a lot of close fights a lot of interesting fights as a fan of the UFC like you said Tony Brooks it was always interesting to watch you've got Tito figure eight oh great you've got the upcomers you've got the up starters in Magomedov and new Magomedov and like you said then you've got some fan favorites in Sanhegan and the Joel Alvarez would not be able to mention yeah it's going to be a good fight knight we've got Jay for a bit I'll give it a shout out to the English fighter who was fighting I think in the second fight of the night against Willando Badoya um Jay's great standard fighter uh unlucky time in the UFC had a few unlucky losses so yes I'm I think uh yeah good fight knight really interested in it and luckily for all those English fans make this move into the film it's worth it their time so I don't know why you're quite and I don't know why they get away with it and we don't but yeah so the fight knight starts at five o'clock on Saturday um bit the first it should be at five o'clock at least the preeled move card start so yeah get your TV on nice in the afternoon get a few beers with you and uh go enjoy your Saturday evening I know I'll I'll be watching and I'll be uh I'll be feeling sick inside knowing uh I will probably
