[Music] Namaste everyone, welcome to the Charvuk podcast. This is Kushal Mehra, Pakistanis have hacked Adit's computer, so he's using his iPad right now. You cannot use his PC for some odd reason. Yes, Pakistan, Kashmiri, and the Millcave. Adit's computer, Kushal, Kukukuk, and Kupatata, to watch the discussion, Karigah, Pakistan champions Rofi with Unvula. [Music] But I apologize for the day, everyone, we're back, we're back, five minutes late for dance schedule. Yeah, so, okay, we'll start. So, Arjka Ajandai, obviously, we are going to talk about the Champions Rofi 2025 and the issues around it. But first and foremost, I think we have to start with the appointment of the new coach of the Indian cricket team. And apparently, for all three farmers, it is Shirdi Gautam Gambir, who has been appointed the new coach. Still now, I've only seen one detailed press conference where Gautam Gambir was with Ajit Agarkar. It was almost a half an hour press conference where both Ajit and Gautam laid out the future. And then obviously, we'll talk about the subsequent T20 series. Abhi, one day match, Abhi, as of now, as we are doing this podcast right now, right? The Monday match has already begun. And the score right now is Sri Lanka made 2.30 for eight wickets and 50 overs in their innings where Patum Nisanka scored 56 and Dunez Velala gave score 67 for India. Arshtib took two wickets, Aksher Patel took two wickets, Kuldib won, Washi won, Shubman Gill also bowled over. I'm just like, what the hell? If T20 World Cup tells me anything, Gautam Gambir is ready to make an entire team of all rounders. Yeah. So, not T20 World Cup, I'm going to say T20 series. Yes. So, Rohit and Shubman are opening and as of now in 7.4 overs, India is 55 for no loss. And Rohit has already hit two sixes and six fourths for 29 ball 41. Rohit Avi pale, right? We'll compare that and there's looking, unless and until India has a Sri Lankan collapse and we are going to describe in detail why I'm saying Sri Lankan collapse. Oh my God. That was, that was, that was the poetic that collapsed by Sri Lanka. So, before we even go into the world world of cricket and stuff, let us talk about India versus Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka should have won at least one of the three games. They managed to lose all three. Chalo, I'll give them a little bit of sort of leeway, that second game where it was a rain shortened game. India has to, you know, India had to work their butt off and but got 80 runs in 7 overs. So, Kavi Kavi, Ojata in 7 overs, it's basically a hit or miss game. With 10 wickets in hand, it becomes pretty favorable to the chasing game. But they had no business losing the first or definitely not the third game. In the first game, we'll start with the best and then come to the worst. In the first game, India scores 213, Indian spinners are struggling. Sri Lanka is 140 for 1 in 14 overs. They need 73 runs in, I think 7 overs or 6 overs. I remember Kushalak texted me, "Yaar, Sri Lanka gave Jitra Jai as a Kush." "Bas, Buska, your text, Taeya." And then Sri Lanka started losing wickets. "I think there are 2 in the 15th, 2 in the 16th, then 2 in the 17th, again another 1 in the 17th. It was unbelievable. And the strange part is only one of them was run out. And guess who the architect of destruction for Sri Lanka was, Rian Parag. He took three wickets. "No, Google search, whatever he is doing, mental peace, Buska, Miltan, sorry, he is there doing that." But seriously, I mean, it was such a ridiculous collapse and I thought I'd seen it all. But then Sri Lanka said, "No, hold my bear." They had the third T20. But before we get into the third T20, let me tell you the three or four things that impressed me a lot. Jazwal and Gil were excellent as the Openers. Rishab was looking extremely good. He was 49 of 33. Yes, he had a few hidden misses and stuff. So, Rekumari Yadav, captain, he did not overraw him at least in the first game. Second game also, he looked a little bit fluent in that. And what is interesting is India found a way to play Madhahisha Patirana. Yes, Patirana picked up four wickets, but he also goes for tendons and over. If Patirana goes for tendons and over, that is usually massive disadvantage to Sri Lanka, because he is a three or four over spell that Sri Lanka can almost expect, you know, Kuchune, Yoga and all that. And then Sri Lanka's middle order, my goodness, they started, they started with 79 and 45 and I am not kidding. Their last seven are 0, 0, 2, 2, 6, 0, 0. Completely come into win, after come into win is Sri Lanka, their captain, Sri Lanka, Assaranga, Kicksha, all of them fail. You cannot expect Fernando and Wilshan Madhishakka to, you know, play at the last two. But it was a no contest. So, you watched a bit of that game as well. Like, Kuchune, what did you think, do you think Sri Lanka ever had a chance? I mean, I got there a solid chance. I honestly thought they were going to win, the way Patirana and Kuchune, Parera was striking the ball. But it turns out they, you know, they can choke even worse than the South Africans. The first E20, I was, I mean, I had even tweeted, "Yeah, we will lose this one." And just the moment I tweeted that, wickets started tumbling. It's clear, it's a mind, it's a mental block that these guys have. I believe it's a mental block. And there is no way other than that to explain what they've done. I mean, they should not, they should not have lost both the first E20. And I mean, first E20, I'd still say chasing 200 plus is still a struggle that you have to maintain that kind of a pressure constantly. And I, okay, tell him, Womanyunku Grant, it's a harder task to chase that level of runs under pressure constantly all the time. But the third E20 is just inexplicable. I mean, boss, Rinku Singh is bawling the second-last over of the match. Rinku Singh took about two or three wickets in that over? Hey, that's not even the worst. I forget Rinku Singh Ya Koibi Ho. Sri Lanka needed nine of the 12 povars, those 12 balls, nine of the last 12 balls. And they had, and I'm going to look up how many wickets they had in hand, but I think they had like about four or five wickets in hand. So it was comfortable that they are going to, they're going to win this. And they had six wickets in hand. Yes, so they had six wickets in hand. And Surakuma or the other decides to give up, you know, basically Kali, they needed nine, they needed 21 of 18 and Kali, they were gives up 12, including six wights, you know, it was unbelievable or half, six wights in the 17th over. So Sri Lanka ended up getting 12 without scoring a single boundary. Total gift wrap over by Kali. Complete lack of game awareness, this is a complete lack of game awareness. And for all the Pakistanis jumping up and down Kyo Momma Dhammeer in USA Valla, over Niyota like Kali lemma just showed you, was it that? He also bought an over with six wights, right? So now they need nine of 12 walls and then Surakuma or the other says, Rinco Singh will get one over and I will get the other. Rinco concedes three and picks up two wickets, takes out Pereira and takes out Mendes. This is also a bit of a slap to the IPL organizers because IPL is, IPL is such a strange situation where you have the what you may call impact player move. And that is one of the reasons why Rinco Singh kept substituted as the impact player and unfortunately keeps getting dropped. But you had Rinco Singh now showing that he can basically roll the arm over, he picked up two wickets and here you go. And then the last door and Surakuma or the other himself says that I am going to build it, he picks up two wickets in the first three balls, he picks up two wickets. Sri Lanka need only six runs, they can do it in six singles. But you know Surakuma or the other balls spins it out and then they need three of the last ball and they have to run head and skeleton and get two runs. And then comes the super over which was my favorite because Sri Lanka didn't even show up. Washington Sundar comes in, picks up two wickets and Skye comes in, smashes the forward and the first ball. I think many that two on a misfield. That two on a misfield. Yes. It was a set of Fernando Fambal but I mean even if he didn't fambal, India would have gotten two runs and then India would not have done the mind-boggling thing that Sri Lanka did. And I don't know what they were doing. Even from the two runs they scored one of them was wide. So it is, yeah I think it's a total mindset issue. Sri Lanka should have won and stuff. By the way for anyone keeping track of Olympics, India has unfortunately lost the semi-final to Korea. It was always going to be a tough game but we lost 6-2 and we won the first set but then in archery and they're going to go into the Browns by do play off now against the US or Germany. So that was kind of sad but just keeping you guys up to date on other sports also. You are a proper cricket career beyond sport lover. I don't, I don't watch anything in the Olympics. By the way, Royth has scored a 50. Royth is 55 and not out in 36 balls. Shubman Gill is 14 and not out in 28 balls. I think Shubman will be against Zimbabwe where India actually, and we'll talk a little bit about that too. India won the series but there was a lot of criticism there. Sri Lanka, I don't know if it was kibitobat karo. Kiss me? He shook up. Absolutely. I'm coming to that but I was like, we'll talk about men's cricket then come to women's cricket. Basically India has Zimbabwe, there was a lot of criticism against Shubman Gill because he was batting pretty old schooly as a captain. There was a time when Jashasri Jaishwal couldn't hit 100 and then he suddenly went very fast and then Abhishek Sharma was not given a chance to open. So there was, there were questions being asked, "Oh, is Shubman protecting his place in the team or something like that?" I don't think he needs to do that but truly Abhishek Sharma is our number three opener in T20. I think it's now either Shubman, Jashwal and Sharma but if Shubman continues the go-slower approach that he is doing right now, then I think he's going to be dropped as an opener. I think it's going to be Jashwal and Shubman Sharma that he could be open for sure. Okay. Now let's talk about the Indian girls. What did you make of that tournament? India did in the Indian, if we talk about, unfortunately I hate saying that but the Indian women are like the South Africa of the women's tournaments. We unfortunately falter way too many times in the final. They've just done that. In that, again, there was no way we should have lost that tournament. There is no way we should have lost that final. Yes, it was a home advantage for Sri Lanka but what the hell were the women doing losing, you know, again, go-slower approach, they were playing, they were not playing aggressive cricket. If you see the strike rates of, if you see the strike rates of women's team in the final, we were looking at what? We scored 126 and Herman Preeth, especially Kaur, was 11 of 11, Smithi Madana striking at 127, Uma Chethi at 128. The whole debate was should Jemima Rodriguez play at five or should she be going up? I personally think that if Herman Preeth Kaur cannot play flu as fluently as she used to be able to, then she probably should be replaced as captain or she needs to go up to three and Jemima needs to go up to four. She and Vicha Ghosh need more deliveries in this format. You cannot just put ourselves behind, you know what, 87 for two or 87 for three and 12 overs, right? Then we have almost doubled the score. We should have been at least a hundred or something. If you get about 180 or something, it's a competitive score. Let's look at the conversely on the Sri Lankan side. They knew what they needed, yet Chamariya Thapakutu goes at 140 plus. Harshita is at 135 and then Kavisha Jalari goes at 187.5 strike rates. So first difference was that. The second was, it has become a mindset issue with our women's team as well, that in big finals or something, something happens. They are just not able to cross the line. It's not, if we don't have the squad, we have the squad. Our teams, our players are also putting global tournaments. They play the women's big pass. They play the 100 women. So unlike the men's team, the BCCI has made a provision for the women's team to play competitive sports in UK and Australia. So in spite of that, them performing below par is sort of unacceptable. Yeah, I don't follow women's cricket, so I will not comment on it. Why? I just don't enjoy women's cricket. I enjoy women's tennis, women's badminton, women's boxing, mixed martial arts. I have never enjoyed women's cricket, which is why I have no comment on it. Nothing against the girls. I wish them well. I want them to do well, but in cricket, I don't enjoy watching women's cricket. So that's about it. I am not going to give any wishes to Prani Vina on that. But now let's talk about Gautam Gambir. So what do you make of Gautam as the new coach? So far, so good. I think so far, so good. I like that Gautam brings a fresh approach to the team. I think he brings a very different approach in terms of how to sort of go about building the team. He loves how KKR is. You can see he loves that KKR has seven or eight bowling options. He will never build a team with just five or six boulders. So I think Gautam is doing that. The other interesting thing, the other interesting thing I find for Gautam Gambir is that he is very, he is not playing favorites in the team. Right now, no one really knows if their team, place in the team is guaranteed. You perform, you get in, you don't perform, you are out. So those are two quick things. One thing which we have to see is, how does Gautam Gambir deal with Test Match Ticket? There is a lot of bad blood in the previous sort of avatar between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambir. They have promised that they are going to put it behind them. Is it going to happen? Is it not going to happen? That is something we need to see. And how well does it, how well does it auger for team India? So those are the small things. But so far, I think I'm very happy with what I've seen with Gautam Gambir. And especially if the mindset issue is what we call about Gautam, Gautam Gambir is someone who plays this cricket very differently. Like he plays it with his heart on his sleeve. So, and I think you'll see that, you know, he is that old school, he will say, he will say, he will say, different coaches, different strokes for different folks as they say. Like Gautam Gambir is a very much a feels kind of a cricketer, right? We'll chuck the moment kind of a thing. We can do it kind of a thing. But like I'm not saying he's not a trained coach or he has not done his, you know, proper coaching courses and stuff like that before somebody misunderstands me. But the point is every coach has a different personality. I'll use another analogy over here. The analogy is of Justin Langer. I think Gautam Gambir is very much in the Justin Langer kind of a thing. And now with a person like Justin Langer, right, you know what the story was, the Australian cricket team players just could not handle Justin Langer and till the extent that many people started saying things like the environment in the team had become very toxic, players were feeling very threatened by Justin Langer, etc, etc. But I am a giant Gautam Gambir fan and supporter. I have always liked Gautam Gambir's aggressive approach towards the game. He's never said I attitude his obsession with winning. I like that. Having said all of that is Gautam Gambir, the right character for an Indian cricket team. I don't know. I'll tell you another person who was a very similar character in terms of tenacity. That was Mr. Anil Kumble, another great of Indian cricket. He clearly did not get along well with Virat Kohli and the BCCI chose Virat Kohli over Anil Kumble. Now here's the thing. Now the scenario is throughout different right now because A, Virat Kohli is probably has a good two, three year period left in his career. He's not at the peak of his career. He's not at his peak in terms of influence on Indian cricket either. And Gautam on the other hand is very much at the start of his tenure. So even if Virat and Gautam do have their problems, I think they are both way more mature and they will handle this situation in my view far better. But most people think that it is all about Virat Kohli. It's not. Point number one. It's about Gautam Gambir and Rohit Sharma because people forget Rohit Sharma is the captain of the team, not Virat Kohli. And why I think this combination will work is because Rohit as a personality is a very different person than Virat as a personality. Rohit is a person who likes to carry everyone. See we have all heard stories of how Rohit Sharma actually spends most of his time with the youngsters in the team, how he takes them out for dinner, how he makes them comfortable in the team. And I think Gautam can do his experiments with Sky. I think Sky is going to be the captain for the next T20 World Cup. I think that's pretty much clear. Do you doubt it? Do you doubt it? I doubt it because Sky, I mean, I think Sky is certainly going to be a senior player, but the jury is still out on how Sky will be as a captain. It will be between Sky Shupman or Hardik. No, I think Hardik Niyoga because Ajit Agarkar in that press conference clearly said the reason they did not pick Hardik was Hardik gets injured. They were categorically stating that I'm not making this up. You can go and check out the press conference where Ajit Agarkar in no uncertain terms said that the only reason we could not pick Hardik Pandya is because he's always getting injured. If he's getting injured, then if your captain is injured at least four months of the year or five months of the year, we cannot make him the T20 captain just like that. Secondly, and that's I think a fair call. And in that case, and Bumra is not fielded in every series. Unfortunately, I would love Jaspreet Bumra to be there, but no, he's just not this like... Yeah, so I loved how Jaspreet Bumra answered that, "Who do you think is the best captain?" Loved out loud and said, "Me." I loved it. I recommend everyone to watch that one and a half hour panel discussion. There was no panel. It was basically two peer questionnaires and Apna and Jasi. So I would recommend all of you. He was in Ahmedabad and Jaspreet Bumra Gapura interview. I think it was hosted by Times of India. I could be mistaken. So please don't go by my word, but please go. It's the latest interview of Jaspreet Bumra and they have an audience Q&A in the end. But I feel Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambir as a combination would work because Rohit is the captain. I don't think it's an abadaiishu yoga. But I feel Gautam Gopura pressure Khaogamal. People don't realize this. Like, he has to see Rahul Vai took over from Ravi Shastri. Rahul, all Rahul had to do was win one ICC trophy and Rahul was like, "Mira Kamhugya. Me and Ravi is a better Kargya. Take care." I have upped it. Now Gautam takes over because see even under Ravi Shastri, we were making semi-final finals of ICC tournaments and losing. Rahul Prabhir keeps making final, semi-final of ICC tournaments. Then wins one and goes. Now, Gautam has to win two ICC. Then Gautam can say, "Ha, I have done better than Rahul." Imagine the level of pressure that a person coming into the Indian cricket team right now is facing. Yeah, and the issue here is not just World Test Championship. We have to qualify for the final again. It's not going to be easy qualifying for the final because we have a five-test series in Australia. That's going to be his biggest challenge between us and them. That's number one. Rahul Prabhir and Ravi Shastri both ensured a pretty decent performance against Australia. In Prabhir Shastri, we've ensured basically two test series against Australia. One, without Kohli, in the most epic border, that is what Gautam Rumbir is going up against, the four years after that. The other question and what is more interesting as you said is the political situation around it because the next trophy is the champion's trophy. And whether India, Pakistan, Jayangi, and McNae-Jangi, that is the first... I think it will be Nae-Jangi. They've clearly sent the feelersky hybrid karo and our matches will be held somewhere in Sri Lanka or Dubai. That's what they're saying. And we will not come there. Enagar, finals may India or Pakistan. Pakistan will not play the final in Pakistan, which is so weird. Like, it is a Pakistani champion's trophy, but Pakistan will not play Pakistan may fight. But that's what... Yeah, India may kill India and if... Okay, let's assume, although the entire cricketing world says, okay, fine, we will not play India. India backs up. They don't make money here. I mean, why are we beating around the bush? I honestly don't understand this subject beyond the point. Like Khela, Khela and Nae-Khela and Nae-Khela, I am fine either way. Honestly, I'm fine either way. What I'm concerned about is the safety of my Indian cricket team players primarily. And I genuinely feel like even Herbajan has come out, I don't know if you've seen Herbajan has come out very strongly and said, I don't feel safe there. Did you hear Herbajan saying? No, I did not. But if he says, yeah, then we should say, Amadni Parthi MP, Herbajan said, because they always use Jai Shastan of Amicha. So you should say, Amadni Parthi MP. Herbajan saying is clearly come out and said that Indian players should not go there. It's not safe for us to go there. Listen, Herbajan saying, going and saying that is a lot. Boss, it's coming directly. He has just picked up two wickets by the way. Rogue it out and give him. But he only has five more overs, four more overs to go. Yeah. Rogue Gill played a very well-alligator that's spinner, huh? Oh, well, spinner. Rogue Gill played the most breath, taking fast knocks, 16 of 35 balls. I don't know what is going on. But yeah, no, so we'll keep you posted on the score. I personally think that what BCCI really needs to ask themselves is, how ready are they, how willing are they to accommodate? Because you and I were discussing this and we're going to discuss this in detail. Is cricket turning this weird socialist approach that support us? Like as if BCCI is like some prime minister of this global cricket government and they have to worry about every single country. Well, yeah, so I hear a lot of discussion around this, how cricket should be governed, how cricket should be played. In fact, I'll even point you out to one particular channel which has been started. They host a lot of these discussions called cricket eight or something. They are a new channel. They are having a lot of these discussions around whether cricket should be played like this, whether cricket should be played like that. And I mean, I truly don't understand the beyond the point, like there was one discussion, which was titled, what can India do for world cricket? Literally, that was the title of the discussion. That discussion was what can India do for world cricket? And listen, we are doing as much as we can. We are making sure we qualify for the all playoff stages so that world cricket money still comes from viewership. Like, I don't understand. What do they want India? No, no, India tours Zimbabwe regularly, India tours, West Indies regularly. India has literally taken care of Nepalese cricket, India has taken care of Afghanistan cricket. Can India do more? Yes, India can do more. India can afford to do more for world cricket. That is fine. But you know, sometimes I feel the this, I'm not saying these two individuals were sneering on Indian cricket. I want to be categorical. But beyond the point, right, I just think key, the entire pressure is always laid on the feet of Indian cricket as if you know, the Indian cricket team as a and you know, a lot of it is whining of, I'll give you myself as an example. Every time I listen to a new song, these days, like whatever rave or this, I just wine like an old uncle and I'm like, Oh, 90s was the best music. A lot of times when I hear these people talking about, Oh, test cricket is dying. Oh, Baba, what did India kill test cricket? Did India put a gun on a viewer's head and said, if you watch test cricket, we will bump you off or something. Boss eyeballs go where eyeballs go. And and you can't force people to love something. This is like too much of a test cricket. Can we get a little mature in these discussions? Maybe there are not enough people who like test cricket. And if, by the way, who supports test cricket the most? BCCI who who increased the salary of their players to play test cricket BCCI, who created the rule that you have to play Ranji? BCCI. Most of the players listened to Jasprit Bumra recently was when in the same interview, he was asking, how do you judge yourself? He's like, I judge myself on my performance in test cricket. And I know the entire team also is only going by, I judge my performance on test critters. Yeah. So that's the thing. And not just that cushion. There are two other things on display here. Let's look at what happened in India, South Africa. India asked South Africa, we want to play three test matches. What did South Africa say? Oh, we can't do it. So is that BCCI's fault also that the cricket board of South Africa is refusing to play three test matches when India could have easily played. So there has been multiple times. India, Australia, India, England have all become five test match series in Australia or in England or in India, right? Amari criticism, where we doing silly four test match series, BCCI resolved that, what do you want them to do? I was looking at the schedule of our test series coming test matches and stuff. All of them have been scheduled over weekends. It's either a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday start. So you are ensuring that the maximum crowds are available and stuff. So it's not that, but I'll tell you where it's coming. The maximum winding is coming from England because England, a lot of Englishmen cannot take that BCCI is running the game. That is the unfortunate reality. And what they are trying to do is they're trying to do that. Oh, BCCI should Australians don't whine about this. There is a couple two or three Australian cricketers. When somebody asked, when was the last time Australia told any Australia told West Indies or Zimbabwe? Correct. Exactly. That's fair. It's a legitimate question to ask, right? When did Australia told Zimbabwe last or when did Australia tour of West Indies last? Right. And the thing is, in England, I was looking at England, like India is playing New Zealand, right? India has two test matches against Bangladesh and three test matches against New Zealand. I guarantee you, if India were to go to New Zealand, New Zealand would not do three test matches. They would only do two. I guarantee you. They can't afford it, right? And that's also India's fault, right? Everything is India's fault. So there are two or three things here now. Big Batch League has not been as successful in the last few years as it was in the first years, okay? It goes in middle of Australia's test summer. People are not able to, players are not able to give them time. And that is one of the reasons cricket Australia is not making enough money. Super Smash T20 is also not that successful New Zealand. So the solution was to combine Big Batch and Super Smash and have like this one giant T20 tournament between Australia and New Zealand and that can make them both one. They are refusing to do it. England still whines about how there is a hundred and there is also the vitality blast. They have a hundred as an answer to the idea. India also has said Mushta Akhali Trophy. In fact, most of England's streams, if you go to YouTube and see the county cricket streams of Lancashire, Northinghamshire, I would say about more than 50% of the people come from India. Indians genuinely love the sport. It is our primary sport. We do not mind watching other teams play it as long as it's a good game. The difference in England and Australia is it is not their primary sport. In Australia, it's a primary sport for three months here. In England, it is a second primary sport for two months when they play test matches. But otherwise, it is a secondary sport to football. What they are generous of is BCCI having that state as where people will essentially watch anything. Now granted, BCCI is not about criticism because the way the IPN broadcast and all that shit runs, it's annoying to me. No, BCCI doesn't play Indian cricket players enough. There you go. I think that's my grouse. They should pay our players more. Correct. Look at the percentage of the BCCI revenue given to the players. It's very minimal. I am of the firm opinion. If he should be paid to not play the IPN. And if he plays the IPL, he should be paid way more to avoid most bilateral series. If he wants to play the IPL, it's okay. No, that's fine. But I'm just saying that if BCCI really wants to save him, if there's a world of happening after the IPN and BCCI has afraid, Bumbra gets injured, you essentially pay him whatever Mumbai Indians is paying him to play the IPL. Which by the way, I don't even know if he's going to stay with the Mumbai Indians. I've sneaked sinking suspicion that given the statement and given where he made that statement from, Gujarat Titans may be giving him an offer to jump ship and become the captain. I think it's a very good way to do it. I think it's a very good way to do it. I think it's a very good way to do it. I think it's a very good way to do it. I think it's a very good way to do it. Such an important way to do it. I honestly think that will happen. But yeah, cricket socialism bothers me. I don't want, I don't want to be, Honestly, I have to say this. I hate defending BCCI because I actually hate BCCI, but anyways, I think the BCCI morally applies to take care of a lot of things in cricket. And I genuinely feel the BCCI can do more. But people forget India is a piss poor country. What if I give the socialist this argument rather than bailing out some other rich boards or other countries, South Africa, Tokyo bailout, why can't India, Indian cricket board BCCI bailout, other sports in India? Why not BCCI bailout, Indian field hockey? No, no, I did this because first of all, since we're talking about field hockey, screw you, we beat Australia, 4-1 or 3-2, I'm sorry, 4-1. After like 50 years or 40 years or something like that. And this is a big example of what went wrong and stuff. We were not able to beat a lot of the teams, which were not the topmost, but they were in the top five in field hockey. But I also get mad at a lot of people who use whenever we win an Olympic medal, they shit on cricket. I am going to tell something. Who is the number one team in medals right now, in total medals, United States, who has the most number of golds China. Yesterday, in my game, I'm from Houston, Houston Texans started an NFL preseason. It's not even a regular season. It's an NFL preseason game. There were more viewers watching that at one point of time than the prime time Olympics broadcast in America. Why? And Houston is not even the best, most watch for NFL team because NFL is a default sport. Everyone in US watches American football or football, as people call it. No one here is like, "Oh my god, no one watches Simone Bides doing gold." Not a Simone Bides win saying, "Oh, I won the gold." And more people watch football. She's married to a football player for God's sake. Like she knows that the Super Bowl is going to have 10 times the viewership. Every time we win an Olympic medal, like I remember, there was used to be a sports editor of Hindu called Mirmal Shaker, and he wrote an angry piece after the 2012 Olympics that, "Oh, we won six medals." But let's all keep cheering for a sport played by eight and a half countries cricket. And for his disclaimer, this is not to shit on Gavaskar, tend to be like, "Yes, it is to shit on them." You claim that badminton or something is so brilliant because I was getting a badminton so brilliant because 10 countries or 20 countries participate in the Olympics. But guess what? In cricket also, you know, 20 or 30 countries participate. More countries played the World Cup competitively than some of the Olympics sports this time in the T20 World Cup, right? So, by that logic. But I don't understand why should we undermine our achievements in cricket by sort of saying that, "Oh, both baklase, this is the real thing." The fact is our Olympic performances have not been consistent. We have not performed according to our potential. Some of our athletes have crashed out in the first and second round in this Olympics when they were medal hopefuls, right? Our boxers, classic example, after us getting to a point in 2012 and 2008, we've actually gone down. After six medals in 2012, we went down to two medals in 2016 and then we went up to seven in 2020. And technically, this time, we should have gone up to 14 or 15, kept going up. But right now, there is a debate whether we are going to cross 10 or not. And we lost two of our biggest medal hopefuls in badminton lost yesterday in Pivisindo and the double Sathvic and Girard. So, it is a mindset issue. Instead, I think you should what the other federations need to talk to the DCCI, talk to them about mental coaching. How does India come back and win the World Cup? After losing so many finals in a row, how does India manage to do well, put the ghosts behind them and do well? That is what needs to be talked about. And the other thing that needs to be looked about is all these organizations have uncles. And I say that with full responsibility, uncles running the sport for the last 30 years or 20 years. Same uncle is sitting there for 20, 25 years, 30 years and stuff like that. In cricket board, at least you are seeing a turnover of management. You don't like, well, only one seat doesn't change. That will change when he goes to ICC. Even that will change. You believe it will change too. Because in VCCI, unfortunately, the thing is we actually criticize Jay Shah. Look, is he a sideways appointment? Yes, but he has a record. People don't understand. He has a history of working in Gujarat cricket association. They are also because of his father. I'm not denying that, but he's done a decent job. It's all I'm saying. And look, I'm not a Jay Shah fan, but I'm not a Jay Shah hater either. I'm not a Jay Shah. I'm not a Jay Shah. I'm not a Jay Shah. I'm a Jay Shah hater. I'm not a Jay Shah hater. I'm not a Jay Shah hater. I'm not a Jay Shah hater. I'm not a Jay Shah hater, I'm a Jay Shah hater. I'm not a Jay Shah hater. You have absolutely selected a wrong mic. I was, I connected. Phone's automatically wrong. Is it better? So, I'm going to tell you, all India badminton association, you have, I think, Mr. Hibanta Viswa Sharma, who's the leader for all India badminton association. I'll check up all it in a way. So, my question is, how many Shah V talk about that? Okay, are there questions asked to Mr Sharma? I don't know. Not a lot of people ask. Same for tennis association. So, why should, why should... Sharath power was not political interference in cricket or what? Exactly. Sharath power was not political interference. He was political interference when he was in football federation. When he was on one side and now he's not an interference or he was an interference, he was not interference when he was on one side and now he's an interference. Rajiv Shukla is not political or what? Rajiv Shukla is the, if anyone who has watched that, often show sacred games on Netflix, Rajiv Shukla is the Trivedi of sacred games. No, I think no one can tell is right. Rajiv Shukla, Kripacharya, BCZ. Kripacharya. Kripacharya, Rajiv Shukla, Trivedi, from anyone from sacred games, there was a line in Siv's Trivedi, Bachega, and Siv Rajiv Shukla is the best. Whatever happens, Rajiv Shukla is there. So, that is insane, right? Now, but so all these politicians and stuff, that they are all, they are all involved in administration. I remember, Vijaykumar Balotra was our archery president for something for 40 years, 42 years, who was the ex-deady BJP. My wrestling man was, who, who, who had me just come in, I am Nilena Chata, Madhla, Vijit Namap, Kambolu, Achai, who had me. Bridge Bhushan. Correct. Hi, how are you, how are you? How are you? So, I mean, yes, there is a stomach problem in Indian culture. Rajiv Shukla, how are you? I'm from Mahabharath, if you really want to have fun, tell Amitabh Bachchan in Kavitya 28, 98. Do you play Rajiv Shukla? This is a real reaction of it. But no, my question is, BCZ, I work in spite of this, because the selectors are not politicians. Yeah, war, decentralized, Ochukha, Uparki, Game Over A, Marni Chapura decentralized, Ochukha system. Point, I will give Yamira Kukha Point here. Gaurav Kapoor said this on a podcast a couple of years ago. Gaurav Kapoor said, "The reason why Indian cricket is so successful, and that is why I did the whole... I thought, Kavi, the whole dravitz contribution. There was a massive pop-up on all dravitz contribution more, because Bhushan is under 19 megahertz. So, Gaurav Kapoor said, "When you have appointed the principal of your middle school as one of the best person." And just Siv Karkhe, such as students for high school, I wish that you are not going to do anything with the high school students. By default, you have the 25 best cricketers in India. You just have to pick some of that food. That's it. And that is the best, that is the sort of advantage you have from the Indian cricket team. Should BCZ, I do more for cricket? Absolutely, yes. But my question to the cricket socialists is, should BCCI not bail out more Chota sports in India, in a poor country like India, you socialists. Bullabola, tell them. No, I don't think they should, because I don't think these sports are poor. I don't think so BCCI is obliged to bail out anything beyond a point. But my point is, if I am a socialist, then why should BCCI look outside? Oh, they'll be like, "No, but cricket is the primary sport. They should care about that." Oh, so you're territorial then. So you're not that kind-hearted, you socialist. Exactly. So NF, I'm telling you, NFN are basketball. US is playing basketball right now. Basketball is not dating out. I don't see NBA paying money to the US Olympic Association. But BCCI did pay eight crores to the Indian Olympic Association, who's maybe a socialist, I don't know. I'm like, they are not obliged to give eight crores. They are just doing that out of the, you know, sure, thinking of there as national duty or something. You can say, you can look how much earth power gave when you were the BCCI president. And I want to take this super chat immediately. Why should BCCI take care of international cricket when there is ICC hierarchy? Namkiwijizothir. Please, Abiram, ICC has no power. There, I will not agree with you. This is where you're wrong. Because ICC literally is nothing other than an event management company. You know, ICC, we're going to power Unka Nam International here. No, you're not going to be any owner. You're back to work, event management company or Kuchini. But literally, ICC is going to write me. ICC is going to write. So go write ICC code energy. Because ICC puts on events better than the BCCI. The IPL, given the money in BCCI, given the broadcast, our broadcast of IPN. Or if you consider our broadcast of Indian Test matches, is shit compared to what the ICC broadcast is. And the commentary team is also backwash. So finally, ICC, if you look at the finals, ICC developed co-honeys to Drop Sunil, Gavaskar and Sanjay Mandirik, both from the finals team in India versus South Africa. Which BCCI does not have the co-honeys to do that. So for anyone wondering what co-honeys is, look, Google it, but don't hit images. I'm just saying. I think the BCCI, in my opinion, should and I have a bias. The BCCI should go out of its way to help West Indies cricket. The BCCI should help Afghanistan for geopolitical benefits. Yes, I am stating this very clearly. To Sri Lanka for geopolitical benefits. To Bangladesh for geopolitical benefits. And the BCCI should do everything to screw Pakistan for geopolitical benefits. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard me see this. Because Pakistan does everything in its power to screw India for their geopolitical benefits. It's just that Uki Akatnya beyond the point. And let's not beat around the bush. I will say it as it is. Because you cannot separate cricket from politics. As of now, I had done a poll. Should India tour Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025? We are 52 minutes into the poll, 523 votes given. 89% say no, 11% say yes, India should go. And I personally don't think India should go if they are not sure about their security. Because that is paramount to me. Because if we cannot ensure security for our own sports persons, there is no business that no business continues to Pakistan. We cannot rely on the Pakistani state to provide a security. We cannot. I'm sorry. I don't trust the state apparatus of Pakistan. They will be like, but they trusted India. Yeah, India is morally superior, you dumb dums. Correct. Well, democracy, we have rules. We have order. What do you guys, military run dictatorship? And you expect to have moral equality with India? No, it's not. I have nothing against individual Pakistanis. I have Pakistani friends. But I'm sorry, state to state. There is no moral equation between India and Pakistan. You can't. There is no comparison. There is nothing that you can say that this is going to be like, Oh, we're doing this or we're doing that. This is, this is, it's not, it's not going to happen. It's not going to happen. And I have, I have severe doubts about what, how Pakistan, the Pakistani state is performing when it comes to all this. So there are, there are, there are serious issues that Pakistan really needs to look within. And that why, why we are having. And who do you think are doing all the attacks in Jammu right now? Correct. It isn't the Pakistani state of paradise. Absolutely. India is supposed to, India is supposed to ignore everything. No, I'm sorry. And they'll be like, then why are other teams going, Yeah, because they don't matter financially to Pakistan. So India doesn't care. This matters financially to Pakistan. It is all geopolitics. Yeah, I'm not beating around the bush. Absolutely. And even if you go and talk to the Pakistanis, they really, that's what India is, who they want to see. Yeah, they want, they love Kohli. I know the average Pakistani is suffering because of this. But then the average Pakistani should go and tell their country to back the hell off and stop terrorism in India. Yeah, I would love to see my boys go and play there and beat them. I would love to see their boys come here regularly and lose from us. Correct. But the point is you have no power in that country. I mean, I'm sorry. It's a failing state and you expect a failed state that can't protect its own citizenry. Can't do anything. Oh, but Australia and England are coming there. Yeah, Australia and England are not their geopolitical enemies. We are. No, not just that. There is another issue and there is a huge issue here at stake. Here is what in the long term, in the long term sort of situation, where does this set with India's own geopolitical gains? Yeah. Then we ensure, but we also, again, I have something what I've said. I, the reason why I have, what I have advocated is you have to have consistency. You cannot do that. We can play hockey in Pakistan, and tomorrow we'll go and play hockey in Pakistan. But they'll never be consistency in any policy. Pakistani policy may be a consistency, yeah? No, no, no. But I'm just saying. And talking about Pakistan cricket. How many chairmen have changed? And now Vakarunus is back. I, I said this on the last cricket podcast. There is one of the cricket journalists were saying that Pakistan may enough inconsistency may have. They need to start changing captains in middle of the match. Why are they not changing that? But like, this is, this is, why are they depriving us from this brilliance? Yeah, this is, this is crazy. I don't know what Pakistan wants to do as a country. Look, Pakistan cricket board is a reflection of Pakistani society. People might find it very offensive. Some Pakistanis who listen to this. But truly, it's a dysfunctional society. It's a confused society. It is people of Indian origin pretending to be either Turks or Persians. Or Arabs all the time while hitting their Hindu ancestry. And listen, you got what you wanted now. It's a, it's a, it's a shit show that country. And, and you may not like this reality, but that's the reality. That is the reality. You made it now deal with it. And, and look at the amount of, you know, blasphemy murders that have increased in Pakistan in the last two, three years. It's a, and Pakistan cricket is a peak representation of Pakistani society. It's a peak representation. Absolutely. And, and, and, and, and, and the unfortunate reality with the Pakistani board right now is they are not able to, they are not able to decide what they are. Are they for the players? Or are they right now? It seems like they're betting for the YouTubers. Because if only people, they are ensuring complete employment too, is the Pakistani YouTube cricket. But every day there is a leak. A report is written by Gary Kirsten. Even before that guy, Mohsen or Jobius Kanama in charge of Pakistan cricket right now. Even before he reads it, everything is leaked to the media and YouTubers. Correct. Absolutely. Pakistan cricket board is off the YouTubers, for the YouTubers, by the YouTubers. And, and it's getting, it's getting worse. It really is getting worse and worse. The other thing is the whole broadcaster pressure right? That Pakistan if you look, if you look at, if you look at, if you look at the Pakistani broadcast issue right, you don't really realize that they are unable to speak truth to power. And speaking truth to power is not just talking about PCB. Who controls the Pakistani board? It is the Pakistani army. And if they, if they are unable to speak the truth to the Pakistani army, they're basically going to, they're basically going to either lose their job, in some cases lose their head. So, if you want, if you want Pakistan cricket to be truly sort of reformed, the first thing, the first thing you have to do as a sort of a lover of Pakistan cricket is tell army to get the hell out of it and then talk, you know, keep talking about it. Not going to happen, it is a country, it is a country meant to disintegrate. The two-ration theory disintegrated, the day Bangladesh was formed. Why do people assume that there will not be more partitions of Pakistan? It's a country meant to disintegrate. Absolutely, absolutely. And, and the funny thing is right now, if you talk about, right now, if you talk about Pakistani cricket with Pakistan, youtubers, they're like, I don't know, but India does not support us enough. A couple of people are like, are you, but India does not go into. We want you to disintegrate. I was like, yeah, we'll be able to cricket socialism. What, what is this? You know, cricket socialism is a metaphor of, it is geopolitics. Why, why, I'm not pretending to not want, I'm not even beating around the world. Yes, we will bail Sri Lanka out. We will bail Bangladesh out, Afghanistan out, West Indies out, Nepal out. Even African nations out, we will bail all of them out. But if we will not bail Pakistan out, it's not rocket science, ladies and gentlemen, make, we're not going to bail them out. No, no, and you may, baby, BCC, I should make a, BCC, I should make a sort of a deal. He hand over half his side to India and then we'll come to Pakistan in love. No, I mean, it's a very good offer that Sushan Sarin had made. He give us P.O.K. for P.O.K. we will play champion Stofi and one more bilateral series with you. Be completely, be completely shameless about it. Be completely, why, why, why even, why even high? Let's see, I, I, we can be totally completely hypocritical about what we want, our demands and so forth. And, and that's how it should, but let me, you know, we, we talk about, we talk about tournaments and major tournaments, right? You look at, you look at India, we were talking about how India works in major tournaments and how other countries work in major tournaments. The whole concept about choking, right, comes because when, I, for me, choking is not losing in a fine. For me, choking is when you don't perform according to your potential, right? So, if we actually give into Pakistan or something, we have done, we have choked because P.C.A. has not, has not performed to their potential in diplomacy and geopolitics. People would say, oh, P.C.A. only has a cricket administration, they don't. It's unfortunately, it's, it's, it's a two-sided position and they should see how they, they should, I actually think we should tour Pakistan and if two things, we can ensure R.C.F.T. in Lahore, because there will be all the games played. Be, we actually get a diplomatic, we get a diplomatic sort of thing for ourselves. Because right now we've got, we are getting nothing for ourselves and why should we give them any financial benefit? And, and look at, at very good, right? Proud of Naman Kanthal here. Proud moment for South Asia. Why shouldn't we play geopolitics? What has the West done to Russia in this Olympics or Wimbledon? Yeah. Yeah. Vokareto Chamathkar, Hamkareto Balatkar, huh? Nee, Orka, hey, yeah, well, sadakutta kutta or dakutta, Tommy? Yeah, exactly, well, you know, what have they done? This is not Olympics if the Russians are not allowed. They are playing geopolitics, right? And India, oh my god, how dare India play geopolitics? Yeah, but what do you mean? Why the hell should we not? Yeah, we will have our cake and eat it too. Because we can. Yeah, obviously, duh. No, I mean, I would love, I would love to see Deko, and someone has, and I know we will take super chats or something, but I just something popped up. English football does not subsidize using EPL monies football in Kenya. I mean, Indian football is not doing well at all. Should we, shouldn't we say that Indian football should be subsidized? So funny enough, that is a super chat. It's funny that the same socialists don't bash FA and English Premier League for not taking care of football in Africa and Asia. Hmm. Yeah, they will be like, that's that. Oh, I agree. It's very sad. They should do it. Yeah, exactly, exactly. And they can just wash their hands off like this. Yeah, exactly. And I don't understand, okay, why, what, what should they do? Should they just go and, should they just go and say, okay, bye. What if I don't understand, what should, what should they, what should they, what should they be doing? And let me ask you, let me ask you something else, question. Don't you think that Indian football alone, since it is not performing, India should say the same thing. You want us to support cricket? You go and support some of our sports, which are not making the same amount of money as you. Yeah, please. So, yeah, I don't understand what, I don't understand what is the situation. And I don't understand what is, what do they gain from this going forward? I think a BCCI should make sure the Pakistani share in the ICC World Cricket Revenue Pi should reduce and be distributed to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, West Indies, everyone. And then once we make sure that the Pakistani share is reduced, hambi amarathura share come kartingay. Pakistan is the third or fourth richest board in the world by the way. Correct. And no, or second, have Pakistan mandate a thing that their prime minister will not appoint the chairman of the ICC. ICC was your locker match, enough. Baha, Baha top continue. They didn't do that with Robert Mugabe and Zimbabwe cricket. They let Zimbabwe cricket suffer. Zimbabwe was a brilliant team that could have, you know, gone much, much, like so many places. And right now, Zimbabwe cricket is suffering because of what Mugabe is policy was. South Africa cricket had its own issues because South Africa had so many, so many problems with it. So I don't, I don't understand what the ICC is doing. But to close the loop on this, and I want to talk a little bit about England test match cricket and stuff like that, what is the future of test match? To close the loop on this BCC, I should do two things. Put put their foot down, finish, make sure, you know, make sure that you don't concede grounds when it comes to, when it comes to cricket. And most importantly, most importantly, get a solid concession both from ICC and PCB about what the future is going to be. Otherwise, this is a complete waste, complete waste. Absolutely. Now, one last thing and then we'll take a few superchats. So, uh, West Indies toward England got smashed three nil. Correct. We're fighting two test matches to be fair, but still, but it's still better than what we expected because our expectations were so abysmalito. Jimmy Anderson retired. So kudos to Jimmy Anderson for a great career, a legend of the game, an absolute, uh, uh, uh, wonder, wonderful bowler, and it was a joy to watch him bowl in India, especially in the way he made Indian batter's dance. Uh, I mean, uh, I mean, all I can say as a sport fan is thank you, Jimmy Anderson. And, um, yeah, they're going to play Sri Lanka next. I think it's a three test match series. And then India goes there and then they are in the ashes. Uh, man, it's okay. Later next year and stuff. Yeah, the India with the next year is our concern. Yes, I'll tell you that's true. And by the way, uh, just, just as an update, India is about to crash out of the Bronx when we came come out without a medal and give it to us. Um, see, this is what I mean by not doing it the highest. Four wickets are down as of now. We're not going to be out of here. So I'll just give an example. Unfortunately, Ankita, who was, um, who was doing it, he has all his scores are either nine or 10s. Ankita scores are two sevens and one eight, right? We lost one game by one point and we lost the other by two points. If that seven was a nine or a seven was a 10, we would have won both either games and stuff. This is, this is what I say when I say mindset and matters. Now essentially USA is one. They can win it with the six and they're going to win it, uh, or with a seven. So this is what I mean. Like they need either mindset training, like we should have had this medal at least a bronze in archery or a silver in archery and stuff when you're leading up to up on Korea, but it's unfortunately, it's happened way too many times that we have not done according to our potential. We can crash out in the semifinals and there have been so many close medals, uh, close contest. At least three, I know this in this Olympics where we could have either ended up with a bronze or a silver and we've ended up an empty handed and that's the difference. Unfortunately, in the mindset, sorry, I just had to add that, but in like West Indies, I'll tell you something. They look completely mismatched. I saw this discussion that Sky Sports had with what is the future of cricket in the West Indies and stuff like that. And, um, they said that West Indies when no one wants to play test match cricket, because a pass on a be quite they can any other. It's very expensive for the West Indies board to hold test matches. No one really wants to hold the test matches and stuff. So, there are two things that can be done, right? You either incentivize the West Indies players to play test matches and for that, either the either either boards have to sort of, you know, make a deal, step up of when they're touring. Um, the IPL has affected West Indies cricket disproportionately because the time the IPL happens is the peak season for the West Indies. Uh, April me used to be when all the teams toured. Um, but if you saw the decline of West Indies cricket, it had started way before the IPL. I don't remember the last test match series they had won before the IPL. There was maybe one or two series that they performed well in against England at home. They always seem to have find that extra gear, but the West Indies had always struggled. Um, they were prioritizing limited. It was international. It's more than they were prioritizing test matches. And we all have nostalgic about West Indies cricket because we love how they play. And, you know, they're, I just think they're a wonderful bunch of people. Correct. No, because I live in Canada, right? I meet a lot of people from the Caribbean islands over here. I think they're the nicest people you'll meet in your life. Trust me, nicest. And I don't mean, uh, from a racial perspective, just the culture of that society is really nice. They're warm, welcoming people, uh, whether people of Indian origin or the ones who were there from Africa or the white people who are Caribbean white people. They're also white people who are in the Caribbean islands. I just, it's the culture of the islands is beautiful. They're good people. They're nice people. And, um, it, I think BCCI should do all in its capacity to help West Indies cricket because they have a genuine case. The cost of running cricket and West Indies is disproportionately higher. And I think just to cap that, right, they should get an extra amount, a percentage from world cricket for that. I think we should give the chunk of Pakistan to West Indies cricket. I think that's only fair. I, but I don't think money is going to help the West Indies cricket because the issue is their administration. Their administration is woefully corrupt. And there are so many questions within West Indies cricket. So I think what needs to happen within West Indies cricket is incentivize them in terms of test matches. What ICC needs to do is have a bonus systems for players. So if there are certain boards that are, uh, struggling say that players who are playing international cricket or players who are playing test match cricket needs to have a bonus system. So Ian Bishop spoke a very interesting thing. Craig Breathwood and a couple of others who only play test matches. They said they don't even get to practice on the facilities because those grounds are reserved for T-20 cricket and CPL and so forth. So do they get to practice on bridge town? Do they get to practice in Trinidad or Agnes Vale? That is something where ICC needs to step up. Um, introduce it in play incentive based system for players to play test cricket from an ICC level. Um, if you really want to test cricket to succeed in countries that are not India, England and Australia. And I think I would support that. Have say one or two percent or three percent of the funds dedicated towards that. Um, the second thing where ICC can probably, uh, focus on in terms of managing what they do in test match figures, get rid of this nonsense of two test match series. Have a third test match series. Tell the board that they should play the second test match series, but the ICC can subsidize for the third test match, right? Other up to cricket socialism, this is what you do and you are not just paying them the money. ICC will get a share in revenue also. So you split the revenue of the third test matches. Suddenly you are opening, opening up for all the series and, and we do. And the ICC really needs to recalibrate who they are giving the test status to. If they are not able to, if they are not able to provide good quality contest, you split it up into tiers. You have eight countries, the top eight countries who play for the world test championship and then introduce another layer of the six countries who play for the plate league. Then have two teams from the top eight and two teams from the top six switch positions. Because look at this. England, Australia is still going to happen. India, Australia is still going to happen. India, England is still going to happen. But those, those six countries, Ireland, Afghanistan, they need to need to play regular test matches. And you can keep those two test matches series. They can play against each other. Afghanistan, Ireland, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Afghanistan, West Indies can play. I don't understand why that is not happening. So I. And those kinds of teams called test match batting bowling fees can be taken care of by BCCN. I think that's not a big deal. Yeah, exactly, exactly. So I, so if they start doing this, and if they start sort of promoting this, that is the way you're going to sort of put your foot forward in, in, in, in this saving test cricket. And second thing is NASA dissent made an important point that people also age out. Not everybody is not going to be 24 all the time. When people grow is like, my son would not watch a day of test match cricket. He wanted to watch T 20 and the 100 five years later, he came and watched a whole day of test match cricket and he's going to come back again later this year or later next year. So he's like, I'm seeing that older people get they actually appreciate test match cricket more. And your hook is got to be T 20 cricket. People in America were talking about T 20 cricket because unfortunately for people who don't know test match cricket, it's a punchline that, oh, you play for five days with white clothes and ultimately you still can have a draw. If you, if you talk to that about any non cricket fan, they're like, yeah, cab, a question, right? So five days you play, you don't even get a result. But if you get them into with T 20 cricket, they're like, oh, this game looks like fun. And then you introduce other formats, then this works. But for that, a ODI cricket really needs to, first of all, get rid of this champion's trophy. It's a piece of shit. I don't know why ICC wants to keep do one event a year. It reduces, it reduces the, the sanctity of ICC events. This World Cup, we don't need, we don't need a champion's trophy. Have an ODI World Cup, have a T 20 World Cup and have a World Test Championship. Three events, that's it. Every alternate year, this champion's trophy makes no sense. I know it's money making or something like that, but find other ways to make money. I know they can't. Yeah, let's see. Chalo. Great questions, let's end. Sadly, our team run in a mixed match, actually come to an end. We just lost the semi-faulted South Korea. The Bronx is not going to happen. Unfortunately, and if you see, that's what I was saying, one of our female arches who should have been consistent was shooting sevens and eights, not singling them out. But mental coaching, their heart rate was at 110 BPMs and stuff. I was, you know, streaming on the side. It's, yeah, you, you, you need mental coaching. You cannot just give up, like, you cannot just win loose medals like this. That Bronx medal, we needed, and unfortunately, we could have been at six medals right now, but we're at it. Yeah, well, Kakare, will the presence in Olympics help popularize cricket? I think it was. Absolutely. It will. Absolutely. But, and the other thing is, yeah, I see, see, in each other, so there will be a proper elimination, so it won't ensure all the test match crickets laying nations. Seriously, it's such a pain in the every time it can. Pakistan have to play. It's so irritating. It's like, it's a complete, but fixed cricket by fixing the healthy, but scheduling by fixing the rule. This is a complete fix. Yeah, somebody has said, "Kushal, sir, please buy new headphones." Arunji, please send 50,000 rupees to Kushal. I see, I see, I see. It's all right. I think we've covered all the questions. We've covered everything. India, as of now, has made a mess of this match. India has five wickets down now, against Sri Lanka, when we are about to close. India needs 99 runs to win, 132 for five. Coley, our shares a year out, and Kael Raul and Akshar Patel, and Shivam Dubei after that. These are the only last batsman left. Congratulations, team India for making a mess of this. But Adith, as always, fun talking to you, and we will do another cricket podcast after a few days, once a few more cricketing things have happened. Now that the old Indian team is back, are we going to choke? Kamalu, let's see. We were 70 for no loss, and we are 130 for five. Very good. And everybody go and follow Adith on X.
