Listen back to Paul Cooney, Craig Moore and Mark Guidi as they talk all things Scottish football.

This is the Goradio football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Call 0-8-8-17-17-700. Good evening, this is Paul Cooney with Mark Greer and Craig Moore. Exciting time of the season, because it's all to play for. Nothing's been lost so far. And by the way, if you're sitting there and find you'll be delighted about the 4-1 win last night against Valua. Not so good for Kelly, out of the Europa League, but he dropped down to the conference qualifiers. One goal, defeat. Bit of a calamity of the goal last night, but still, Kelly, in the competition. Next week we'll talk about that. But tonight it kicks off in the championship, for Cook, promoted the Invincibles up against Queens Park, and then tomorrow, the premiership, with the 12-30 kickoff hearts against Rangers, Celtic the Champions, the flag day, Sunday at 4-30. We're going to hear from Brendan Rodgers in-depth interview from him. We're going to hear from Philippe Clemong, who signed a new 4-year deal with Rangers in-depth with him about why what's happening with both of them is fascinating. What's the latest about Matt O'Reilly? You'll find out very, very soon. We'll also hear from Vaclav Cerny, one of the new Rangers players, and Casper Schmichael, already a huge fan with the Celtic supporters. You've both been with us early in the week. Mark, can't wait. This is it. Yeah, as you see, the Paul championship kicks off tonight, fall cut against Queens Park, and then tomorrow, lost lunchtime. All systems go. It's a belt at the kickoff. The new William Hill, SPFL, premiership, season, hearts fee, Rangers, and other games on. And then we're in the Sunday, a crack in double header, Paul, Dundee Darby, unfalling in the flag, half past four on St John Snabbardine on Monday night. So we're spoiling. We've got a full weekend of exits, Scottish football, and looking forward to it. Mark, got his first free bet of the season. No, I'm kidding. Of course. Yeah, less important to get sponsorship in there. Yeah. Great. Wow. Looking forward to it. You're interested to hear from Philippe Clemong. So that was the big breaking news at lunchtime, a four-year deal. Why? Well, again, for me, it's, I think it's a positive for the football club. I think we've seen a club that in the last couple of years, in particular, the amount of change on and off the field has been to a large extent. And I think that there needs to be stability. And I think starting with the manager is quite important. So that's big news is there may be another big interview later on as well on the issue. We're going to hear from him. Hilarious last night, Mark. Of course, we told people the night before then last night that Robin Propper was coming to Rangers. No question about it. You brought the story, Paul. Hello, Bernardo as well was on the way. So it was hilarious when others were saying, like, just say, if you want to, yeah, we run for five to seven and you do a good job then, until eight. So I started the program along with Richard Park. But don't bandy words with me. We'd be my line on that one, Mark, for some of the listeners who remember that. Listen, thank you for making the switch to the core radio football show. We're going to be here all season. So we've been built up. It is. Good ones for Nick Clemon, Paul. And I think it sends out a message when John Bennett, we broke the John Bennett interview on Monday night as well, with Barry and now having a few days to digest it. I think, without him actually saying it, what he's saying is, we need to prepare for a brand new mindset. That's what we're doing inside the football club with personnel. And they weren't the fans to get on board. The managers were on board with it now. Otherwise, we wouldn't have committed. So it was a long-term plan in place. Rangers, after what happened in 2012, Paul, I think they were constantly going for a quick fix, which was understandable. But they were getting themselves, you know, a financial trouble again, relying on loans and different kind of things. So they had to break that cycle. The Chairman's been very brave to give us it. This is the way it's going to have to be done. And rightly so, it's a business. You've got to do it properly. You've got your short-term goals, but you've got to have a long-term strategy as well. So it's a change of mindset required. As I said, Monday night, Paul, there might be a bit of pain, particularly this season. Every chance it'll be a lot of pain this season. But you've got to look ahead to the bigger picture. And I think it's great. It takes away any notion that if Philip Clemone has a bad August or a bad September, like Michael Bill, Giovanni van Brokos, he's out the door. So it takes that away. And I think it brings stability in terms of what they've tried to do longer-term. Yeah, no, I agree, Mark. And also, I think the challenge for Philip Clemone, his Rangers team in the Football Club, is to try and find a way as quickly as possible where they can develop that model of player trading model. So you're bringing in younger, probably less experienced players to try and develop and increase their value. But at the same time, you need that blend of experience where you're winning trophies. That's a big challenge for Rangers. I agree in terms of this season at this moment in time. It looks as if it's going to be a real tough one, because I think Celtic are strong, strong favorites. That is the challenge that Rangers have staring right in the face starting this weekend. We'll hear from Philip Clemone in just a few minutes. And also from Brendan Rogers, who sounds confident that more bodies will be coming in to Celtic for the first team squad, no question. And of course, Adamida is one of those likely to come, but there's not a couple of names as well. What about the name of somebody we saw here in Scotland, young-owned Beck, the 21-year-old left back? We saw him at Dundee, Mark. You liked him, Paul. He was one of your favorites, yeah. Yeah. It was good. It was a good sport, but it was good. It was good. So he could be honest. He's on Celtic's radar. But Liverpool would like, I'm not sure they're so keen on the loan. That's the kind of thing that comes in and gives cover in a challenge to Greg Taylor. Yeah, Celtic need a left back, Paul. I've been looking for one since January. They really should have something. And I said that in January, we'll see it again, not necessarily to replace Greg Taylor, but certainly to challenge him. He's not in the only challenge. They need to be challenged. So he needs that. The man's just been crying out for it. Burn the bike, obviously. I think he's still away in loan, isn't he? So he's no future at the club. So on bit, Beck, the terrific first half of the season. For Dundee, when he was in the loan, he was a good find by Tony Dorker and his staff. I think Celtic made the main query for Beck in January, Paul to try and get him for that left back. So they didn't get it over the line for whatever reason. And now he may be able to be back on the radar, being like the boy at Wales and Wales might be not wanting loan. So they're certainly looking. But there now needs to be action. And all this is a win to go. So you judge it at the end of the window, not with four weeks in the window, still remaining. But I think the Celtic supporters and the Celtic manager, just looking for one or two more deals to get over the line, get them in the building, get working with them, and improve the quality of the Celtic team. And it rangers James Tavernier. He's back in, focused again. He's in the papers today, Rangers have put him up. He's been speaking. What do you think he's going to start tomorrow, isn't he? Will he be hit at the end of the month? Yeah. Well, again, just going off of that interview that I've seen, Paul, it certainly seems like a captain and a player that is going to be here again for the season. That was the messaging. And now, of course, football can change any moment. But he seems set to go again, to go around again this season. He had a bit of an issue, I think, with the hip flexor. So he kind of has taken a little bit of time out during preseason, which meant he hasn't been involved in all the games. He's got his last couple of matches minutes. He'll continue to improve. But like it says, from that interview, it seems as if Tavernier is certainly going to be the captain again, and roll out for another season for the football club. So you'll be determined to try and turn it into a successful one. Where do you want to start? We'll start with Brendan Rodgers speaking about Matt Larelli. Everyone's been talking about him all summer. Will he stay? Will he go? Here's the manager speaking this afternoon. Yeah, I'm very confident it won't affect him. It's not easy. That's the reality of it. But he is an ultimate professional. He knows he's in a good place here. I've said it before. Siltik's a place that he can leave, but you don't have to. And I think he has seen what the last three years and that last season that he's had, what it has given him. And that progress that he's made in his career. So was he 23? So he's got another, I guess he's 35 years of age. He's got 12 more years left in his career. So he's invested in his time, in his development. It's clear he will attract attention. But I've said it during the week that, and this is not just for Siltik, this is for the Scotty's game. In general, I think for so long, the price that's set on a player is because of the league and haven't walked down south for a number of years and knowing the monies and the finances and the level of players. Then sometimes then the league gets the fee and gets the offer. Well, it won't happen. You pay for the player. You absolutely pay for the player and if you want the player. And as I said, I've known young guys in this window that I've worked with recently. We've gone for say 30 million pound. We get offers in for the likes of Matt with the grace of respect, nowhere near that. So we don't have to sell. The club doesn't have to sell. We respect that there will be a point in a young player's career at this club where he may for financial conditions of his life be able to improve that three, four times over. But there has to be still a value to the player and not just the league. And for us, he's a very valuable player. But until that changes, I've got every faith in Matt, his focus, his mentality. And you can say it in pre-season, his performances again consistently very, very high. So he looks in a great place, along with the other players. Greg, you've played down south. You've played here. You've played abroad. How good is Matt O'Reilly? Well, I think he's very good. Look, I mean, last season, he probably didn't start off unbelievably well. But then he grew into the season and the influence that he has on that Celtic side. He's got great size. He's got wonderful feet. He's got that killer pass. And he's also got goals that we've kind of seen. And the way that Brendan's talking there, I think early in the week, Paul had touched on it. The Celtic are in such a strong financial position that they determine the price of their players. And that's the bonus of being in a strong position financially. He looks somewhere else where the position is not so strong, then maybe you're having to sell Mark for maybe not the price that you want, but Celter, in such a strong position, O'Reilly is a fantastic player. They will sell him at some stage, but it'll be at the right price for Celter. Mark? Yeah, I mean, I feel they probably will go at the end of this window, Paul. But I'd like to see him stay. I'd like to see Brendan Rogers keep his many of the good players as he can for this Celtic champions. He's come up and also improve it. Now, Matt, really, as you say, they'll go. I think probably will be in this window. I don't think I don't presume Celter are looking for close to 30 million. I don't think they'd get that from Paul. I think comfortably four weeks from now, when it really starts to haul up, they'll get 20 million from comfortably. We add ons and maybe I sell on clothes, etc, etc. But he might just think, "Well, there's nothing really out there that really appeals to me. I'm happy to stay here for another year. You know, you'll be getting lovely money. He plays in the team, playing front of 60,000 fans, playing by a good coach, and then this time next year they can go. Does it come into the equation? Would you play at Southampton? No disrespect to them down there, or in Glasgow in the stand in front of 60,000?" Well, I think O'Reilly's age, 23 Brendan touches on that. He's a young man, and he's got so much football ahead of him, Paul. So no disrespect to Southampton. I don't think that that would be something that's going to turn his head. I think playing for Celter can front of 60,000, playing European Football Champions League and winning trophies until the next best opportunity comes along. That's the position that O'Reilly has as well. Southampton for me wouldn't turn his head. Let's hear from Philippe Clemonce being today just after signing a new deal till the summer of 2028. What Rangers? It starts with coming in a building in October. There was a lot of negativity, so at that moment your focus is to change that, to work with resources that are in the building, to get results better, to change also the interaction between players and fans, club and fans at that moment. So all the focus was on that. Everybody in the building did a good job in that way. And along the way you see more and more things, and you discuss more and more about everything that I think this club can do better or the things that were good, both. And we had a lot of discussions around that the last couple of months, more and more with the boards, with the chairman, with the people in the building. And then at the end of the season you come to the conclusion that it was in many ways an end of a cycle. Yet of course the situation with six players end of contract, where we wanted to resign some, but they chose for places where they could pay more money. Or there were older players that was better to replace them by younger ones. We had discussions about recruitment, how to have it also more in a way that you don't come in situation that six players are leaving the building for zero pounds, and you need to replace them by six players that cost money. So it was a crazy situation. Create also added value out of player trading, because it was not done the years before, that you need to look at those kinds of potentials also, but you need to keep a balance in a squat. We talked about all those things, we talked about a lot of things. And in that way you feel aligned with the people who are deciding here in the club. So there are really open, transparent, strong discussions about things, and at the end we come to the conclusion and we all go for that. And then the club said that they wanted to be sure that I would stay for the longer term, that they wanted that in many ways, not only to coach a team or to train a team, but also for the other things around. To have ideas to discuss, to work around that. And I feel good here. I love this place. I love this club. I love the city. I love the fans. I love the atmosphere in the eyebrows, or the fans who are in the away games. So it was my feeling also to do it longer term. So we decided that end of me, and then it's about how can you put that in a contract, that it's for both sides in a good way, and that you feel that you think the same way. Interesting insight into it. Greg, what do you take from it? There's plenty of talk in there from Philip. No doubt about that. Look, the interesting thing was two years ago this team was coming to the end of its cycle. So previous management and planning was nowhere near good enough. Philip Clement, as he's mentioned there, on not just the football front, the change, the relationship again with the fans to build that. Other things overseeing the academy, there's been that much that has gone on, as been a huge, huge task. Interesting to say that he's talking about other areas, because again, the academy for me is a really, really important area, especially when you touch on player trading model, player trading model. That means you need to develop your own players coming through your academy system. It's about getting the balance right, Paul. You need huge experience and people of understanding of the expectations at the football club, so that these younger players, when they come through, have good mentors and get good habits and learn properly. And then they're drifting at the right time to then hopefully go on a seminar first team position. You look at someone like McOslin last season. Now, I'm not sure whether McOslin is going to be a weak out player for Rangers, but he's certainly coming and done a fantastic job last season and hasn't done himself any harm whatsoever. That's the transition that you're looking for. And then three to five years, but that's a big project. The balance of being successful during that period, that's the demand from the supporters. And that, for me, is going to be the real test for Philip Clement, whether or not he comes out to be a true master magician, a hero of this football club, or he's one of the recent managers that have also come and gone and hadn't really changed anything. Because on the key relationship with the fans, this time last summer, it was good. McOslin was the manager. It doesn't matter who it was. They spent 18 million. And many Rangers fans lot have got some great people in the building. They trusted in the manager, and they thought it was going to be an amazing season. So the relationship was good then. Philip, come on, staying. I get it. But that will hinge the relationship on how they do in the coming weeks and months. For sure, Craig, you know that, as well as anyone having been there for so many years and had success, and then some seasons, not so good. Well, it can just come at you. Glasgow and Columbia every single day. We're looking leading into this season, right? So there's been talk for, and I've probably been one of them where I said that Rangers should have gone for a shank one 18 months ago, 12 months ago, first game of the season away to Hart's. Now, I mean, Shanklin at some stage of this match is going to be a talking point. Now, what Rangers supporters desperately do not want to see is that Shanklin is on the end of a victory for Hart's scoring goal or goals against Rangers. So there's a story every single day waiting ready to go. Mark, what did you make at the interview? Yeah, it was good. You know, this clearly, what he's obviously been guaranteed for what's put which he seems to like and tries on. There's a lot of power inside the club. And most guys know that you'll see for like the one wherever they'll charge the chain and depict the team and you know that they've got a saying and signing in terms of who's in and who's out. But with that, other departments, but the more in his clearly good powers, I think he's overhauled, like sports signs, medicine, all sorts of different things. He was co-opens come in, so the recruitment as well, the retro football. So he's got a grip with this football club, and he's been allowed to keep a grip of it. He's been given long-term security with that contract. Or be it still needed when games don't forget and bring trophies. But I think for the modern day, it's quite refreshing to see a manager in charge. And that's it. Listen, actually, I always think it should be the manager, should be the most important person at any football club. But yeah, it looks like there's a good relationship there. There's a good foundation to go and build it. And listen, if he wasn't buying into, like the chairman said on Monday night, and that interview, the manager is all in, he wouldn't have signed this contract, Paul, he'd be looking for an out, rather than looking to extend this day. So he knows what's got to be done. He's aligned in terms of losing 10 million quid a year has to stop. And what they want to get back to, and actually, you know, that trading model, but it was only two years ago, Rangers brought in more than 35 million quid by selling three players. Bassy, Paterson and Reebo. So, you know, they've got a bit of history of doing it and they need to get back to that. But it's very, very difficult, Paul, as well know, to win trophies, and to trim what you've got to spend. That's a challenge. And we're with sell to getting stronger and stronger, you know, they're still not really splashed out this transfer window. So there's, there's more to come in. Like for me again, there's this, again, when I'm thinking club head on, right? So when you give someone so much control, they mark. So all of a sudden, whether it's sports, science, medical, like, that's fantastic. If it's needed on overhaul, or things need to be corrected and what sort of stuff. But the concern is, is then sometimes, if there's not somebody that is going to be even longer term than the manager, you run the risk of doesn't work. Manager leaves. Everybody else gets ripped out as well. The Makele Bill Project. This, this is something you see at football clubs repeated time and time again. And so it's again, it's the probably the word so far on the show has been it's balanced. Yeah, it's getting the balance right. Difficult, isn't it? Because you, you look at the strong, you, you'll talk obviously about Walter Smith and the control that he had there. Great relationship with the chairman at the time, David Murray. But he was the football, the controlling mind at Celtic and the Brendan Rogers first time around for much of the time. Maybe not later on, and it's possible to co-glue because they needed so many players. And if you look down south when Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool, of course, the chief execs and all the rest, but the football department at Fergie. I know it's 10 years ago, but Alec Ferguson, he was the person in charge. Martin Neil, it's Celtic. Yeah, when you've got the right person, but as Craig says, if you've got the wrong person, and that's no harm to Michael Bill, he gave his best. But you're then in danger that there's the whole foundation. There's the major mistakes. Wonder what Rangers fans think. Dale's been on already from Hamilton. He likes the sound of it. He's worried for this season. I spoke to him just before the program. He was on the WhatsApp. You can O8, O8, 17, 17, 700. But he likes the fact that the directors are saying, "Right, you're in here for four years, maybe more." I mean, well, that can change, Mark, but it's a statement, isn't it? Yeah, for me, it's a positive one, Paul. Let's say because, you know, Rangers don't win tomorrow, or, you know, D&MOKA have not been out in the first qualifier, the Lobos sorts of sorts because, as a history, they're David and Suzaya. You don't get results. The fans turn on you in the board city. That's what happens if any of them Broncos, that's what happened to Michael Bill. But now, I think that the basic saying and in the back of the Chairman's statement again, when he's basically, without saying that, he's basically saying, "We are downsizing and you'll need to compromise. You'll need to compromise and be patient and be with us. Be with us. Stand beside us. Come with us. There's going to be a lot of stormy days and a lot of pain ahead. But we need to be together." But the supporters will stick by their manager and their team as long as they see every weekend, everyone giving their absolute all. And if you see that fans and Rangers fans, fans all over the world, they get behind that. You know, we all have off days. We all have off days and that doesn't matter. It's about the effort. It's about that desire. It's about that commitment that you show out in that football field. That's what fans want, that connection with their players. And it's through the players performance that does make that connection. Did you ever, I watched your look. Did you ever give less than 100%? I mean, a guy that was probably one of those ones where I had to give 100% because I wasn't the best player in the world. You're a very good player. But I know the answer because you do. We hear it with Barry. You know, of course they give everything, Peter Grant, when he's in Andy Walker. I mean, they're like, like, John Harrison. Yeah, we have a good game. Yeah. We're giving your own one. And that's what they're talking about, good teammates. You know, a good player sports with one of his teammates. We've got a ball member, the fans, either be behind, anxious, whatever. And you become a good teammate. It's not all of it what you do with the ball or put in a free kick. That's gotten a goal. It's been a good team making a good person as well on and off the path to the boys beside you. Yeah. And again, the recruitment saw anything so proper. I let's hope he's a proper player. But you know what, we're going to come to that next. I'm going to have to take a break. But we are indeed, we're going to hear more. I'm going to hear from Casper Schmichael. Does he sound quite like Joe Hartwood? Do you think I know he's the Danish international? He's going to be in and also Vaclav Churni, some of the new names for this season. It all kicks off here. This is the good idea football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go. It's the eve of the premiership with William Hill, which kicks off tomorrow. And tonight, as we know, the championship kicks off, it's on the telly. It's on the b-biz and the fore cook against Queen's Park. We've also got tomorrow, Adrian Raythrovers, Patrick Thistle against Morton, great game. Hamilton, let's hope to get their wages against A United. We spoke about it last night and Livy against Dunfirmelin. And then you know the bill of fear, which is huge this weekend. We kick off at 12.30. It's only a time castle. Hart's against Rangers. It doesn't get much bigger than that. Then Mother will against Ross County at 3. And then at half past one. And Sunday on the telly, it's the Dundee Derby against Dundee, funnily enough for the Dundee Derby and St Maren against Hibbs. And then at 4.30, flag day on the telly, Celtic against Comarnock. And then on Monday, St Johnson against Aberdeen. We're going to hear more from Brendan Rodgers and from Philip Clemonne. In fact, Philip Clemonne speaking about James Tavernier. What about Kasper Spikes? Michael, he was asked today. What's the appeal of coming to Celtic? Firstly, the size of the club, massive club, worldwide recognition. Obviously, being part of a winning culture was a big thing for me coming to a place where you're expected to win every single game. That was definitely something that really appealed to me. Obviously, the prospect of Champions League football and the old firm games, all these things were definitely something that was part of it. It's massive as well, isn't it? And he's sent a little bit like Joe Hart and the Celtic fans loved the way he played in America last week. Yeah, he's a great sign-in. Paul said that in the season, once we knew that Joe Hart was going, that Celtic, the most important sign of the summer, would be a goalkeeper. And through Brendan Rodgers' relationship with him, I'll be getting well with him with a lovely contract. But Brendan Rodgers is brought to the club, he's watched with him, thrust some great professionals. And can I guess what he's saying there, Paul as well, between the lines? But the past couple of years, he's been in France and he's been in Belgium, and he's might be just not had that, you know, just a bit of something I'll be about missing this project. I'm now into the last two, three, four years, maybe, of my career. He'll have a new, I think he'll be re-energized by this move. 60,000, a chance to come in and win trophies, a chance to play Champions League football and the chance to work with Brendan Rodgers and because Joe Hart was re-energized by coming to Celtic, Jack Butler was re-energized by coming to the Rangers, just because he had to play a lot of first team football in the previous two years. So yeah, it's my goal will be a brilliant sign and for Celtic, I've no doubt about that. I think it also, in a really quick snapshot there, tells you about the character, why he wanted to come to the football club because of the expectation to win football matches. So again, you forget about sometimes just that the player, the mentality is key and Schmarkle is a fantastic goalkeeper. He made six or seven unbelievable saves in the game against Chelsea. He's a really good goalkeeper, Celtic have done a good bit of business there. And Craig, look, he's played at some really big clubs. He won the title with Leicester, captain them then, but that was tough the last couple of years. I mean, he did really well the one, the FA Cup under Brendan Rodgers, but his last season there, they missed them when he left then, then they were relegated. So what about Joe Hart there? And the adulation that he ended up getting, it's fascinating now what Casper Schmarkle said about the former Celtic goalkeeper. Yeah, many times, many times. I've spoke to Joe a lot, I mean, I do in general, but yes, I've spoke to him before signing since signing. So yeah, we speak a lot. I think having followed him and known him and known the difficulty, he went through in his career to come to a club this size and to get from what I felt the respect and adulation he deserves. You know, in a way, I was quite thankful to the Celtic fans for that because I thought he for the career he's had, he deserved that kind of send-off. And I watched the last game of the season when they lifted the trophy and I watched the Cup final as well. And that was great to see. And I was very impressed with how, not just how, I mean, I knew he was always going to play well because I knew he was a top goalkeeper, but I was very impressed with how good a send-off he got. He's made an impression on him and the way he loved these couple of years at Celtic. Yeah, yeah, you know, there's no doubt that Joe Hart didn't love it, re-energized him, went out at the top, excuse me, out at the top, you know, winning a double. The Celtic fans really, really took him because there was a few grumbles from the Celtic fans a bit Joe Hart after some performances. But he won all the doubters over and it was a great way, as Kaspos Michael said, they summed up beautifully just to end his career like that. And that's made an impression on Kaspos Michael as well, because Kaspos Michael obviously knew him. I think Joe Hart, as Michael was a young late man city, Joe Hart was in number one. So he's kind of mentored him, skilled him. And seeing what happened to Joe Hart, I think really weighted the appetite of Kaspos Michael. And the other thing as well, Paul, you can tell from speaking them. And as Craig said, what he's actually said, I can tell right away, he is a leader. He'll be a fantastic professional about that football club in that direction, him helping Carolyn McGregor and the other Canadian senior boys. But you know, on the part and off the park, a great addition. No, I just remember, you know, going to the leader, we remember even in the euros and all sort of stuff, how important he was for his country. And you can, you can see leaders, you know, not only by their performance, but the way that able to motivate people, educate people, help. So it actually reminds me a lot, he touches on obviously Joe Hart and how well he was received. And obviously he's finished. And that took a shine for him in terms of wanting to come to the club. It was a little bit like, but when he come to Rangers, I think it was Alan McGregor's testimonial. And he was like, I was just blown away with how well that they supported this goal keeper that now was coming away from the football club. Big shoes to fill, and Butler managed to do it. And Michael will also manage to do it because he has huge experience and you touch on it. And I felt from the very early part of his interview, leader, big character, he's going to keep people honest and he's going to make saves. And I'm going to keep itself to keep football matches. What's some breaking news? We're going just here's the squad for the Champions League, as they try to qualify, kicking off and Tuesday night in Poland against animal KF. So the goal keepers, no prizes for guessing Jack Butler, the number one, Liam Kelly in from Motherwell, last month, and Lewis Budinakis, the number three keeper defenders, James Tavernier, is in. Revan Yomaz, Robin Propper, just signed, of course, from 20, John Sutter, Dujan Sterling, Jeff Day, Ben Davies, and Leon Balagun. So no surprises there. midfield Oscar Cortes, Connor Barron, and from Aberdeen, of course, Muhammad Dale Mandy, and Kieran Dowell. Yeah, I'm just looking at both of you. No surprises there. The seven of the new players who are in the squad, and Kant was not in there, which is no surprise as well. Just on that, no surprise, Mark, that's no toward Kant. Well, you didn't expect it. He's not training with the first team. No, no, he's out the picture with the moment, and I don't see that changing. Paul, I think, it'll be before the end of the month. Of front, cereal, deserts, Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, backlaf Cerny, who we hear from Scott Wright, Hamza Igammani, he's in there, and Danilo. So Craig, Igammani, one of the new players. Yeah, you know what, it's funny, funny enough, my focus there when you're reading those names, that was just more the Scottish space, because I need your choir that you need for Europe. Yeah, that's a really good point. I'm going to go back over the Scottish players, so Connor Barron, obviously. And Sutter, right, Liam Kelly. Liam Kelly, sorry, Scott Wright, and Leon Balagun. I'm joking, of course, who came up from Kupia, and they love him. I just thought I'd throw that in there. Yeah, I'm with him, I'm trapped tonight, don't worry about that. You're on it. Oh, wait, wait, 17, 700. Do you want to hear a bit from Vaklaf Cerny then? So he's in the squad, did you expect? And he'll probably pay tomorrow. You know, I'm going to ask you, your teams for Celtic on Sunday and Rangers tomorrow. It's going to be the starting 11 for tomorrow. But let's hear from Vaklaf Cerny. Same question as went to Cashbrush Michael. Why has he come to Rangers? Obviously, talk to Danilo, because now I've been for a while now, been playing with him in the Netherlands, and obviously talk to the boarding director, to the assistant coach, coach itself, the scouting department. So there was a there was a call and that was a nice conversation between all of us, and it felt pretty good. Why Rangers? The vision of the club and the desire to achieve things, which I have, and you know, it matched perfectly with what I was searching for as a next step. So, you know, on the end, it's not difficult to make such a decision when you know that both sides really want to do this. And then, you know, that makes it very easy. Vaklaf Cerny, what's his role and the Rangers team? I'm here to help, as I said, and want to have an impact for the team, for the club, and obviously you need to show that on the pitch. I mean, that's the most important, obviously, and that's going to show how often I'm going to play. So, Rangers fans, looking forward to see what he can do. He came in last week, because it's going to be a huge game tomorrow. I tell you, if you're going to start somewhere away from home, that there's a better atmosphere than Tank Castle. That's a great stadium. They'll, you know, first game of the season, so everybody's right up for it. And it's going to be a big test because, you know, hearts are, you know, very good last season to be looking at. Again, every team's looking to improve every season. Naze has done a good job there. So, they're going to be right up for it. Like it says, it's a great atmosphere there. The first goal in this match is going to be really, really important. Like, as I mentioned, though, we'll guess a little bit later on in the show what the starting 11 is going to be for Rangers. But there's this feeling that where the Rangers come out on top, which is a possibility, or hearts, I think Shanklin is going to be a big talk and point in this match. Sure is. Is there any way he'll come to Rangers before the window closes? I can't see it. No, it would happen this week, wouldn't it? Or? Well, I mean, again, yeah, you would think, but it just, again, it would have to be a transfer. I just don't think Rangers are probably in the position to pay whatever money hearts would be looking for. Alone is completely off the table. That's, hearts would never look at that. Yeah. Domestically so. For me, I struggle to see it happening, Paul. Mark, what's your take on it? I know we spoke about it the other night with Andy Walker, who said, look, I asked him the question. He said he could do a job for Rangers, and even Celtic. Yeah. Yeah, there's no doubt about that. Paul is a goalscorer. I think it's a really good football. I think we'll see that a number of times the programme, you will, since he was given the captaincy by Robin Eelson, the previous hearts manager. I think that's really taking them on another level. The way he plays the game brings his team mates into the game, and he represents his football club well to off the path. So, I think what you probably find, I'm sure that hearts are table and offer to keep them. So, really, hearts really want to make the best offer to him this month, because if they get out of this window and he has to sign a new deal and they don't sell them, his contract's running down. He's in a free this time, next year, isn't he? So, I think hearts will do all they can to try and get to sign. And if it doesn't sign, then hearts have got a decision. They invite off us for him. And they wait and say, "Listen, do we want to take 2 million, 3 million? Something might only offer a million, because he's only got a year to go, and I'm sure that's where they take that." So, that's a quick equation, but I agree with Craig, given again what the chairman, John Bennett said, I think the reins would need to actually sell and get some more money in before they've been in a position. They're going really, because it would really need to turn the hearts' head for let me say, "Oh, lawnshankling this window." And I think probably, and it's going to be unfortunate, I think hearts will more than likely lose this player at the end of his contract, and he'll go where he has a little bit more opportunity. I think that's what it'll do. You'll just run it down on, John. I think so. I think so. We're pretty still in an excellent position, won't he? This thing that he'll probably, he'll probably 15-20 offers to look at. Well, if he continues to focus on what he's very, very good at, is playing football and scoring goals, we're all doing the talk of anybody, but I can see, I can see him running his contract down and getting the move at the end of it. And Craig, that'll be his biggest contract to him. He's 29, so he's good years ahead of him, but he's not 24. This is the earning time for Shanklin, absolutely. And he deserves it. We're going to have to take another break, and then we're going to hear about Robin Proper, and we're also going to hear about Paolo Bernardo, the big signings that we told you about a couple of days ago. That's coming next, 08 or 08, 17, 17, 700, the Go Radio Football Show. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go, let's go. Well, it's just a couple of hours away, the new season kicking off with folk at the Invincible. Steve McGinney will be back. Is he in your squad for this coming season? What do we reckon? Well, we put it to the panel. Nah, he's been, I think, he's sent married a good job for him as the under-18 coach, and he'll be back with us next week here in the show, Mark. Great season for his old club, Folker, and he's in your club last night. What a result. Yeah, brilliant. For the buddies to do that, and you know, with Steve on the bass, and he's new role, I think. You know, so I've let you see that. I'm back in that relationship. Listen, man, the club really, really close to his heart and to his family heart. So it's good, and I think, you know, I can imagine Stephen being a really good coach. And we'll conscientious coach with the young professionals, teach them good habits, improving their game. So, yeah, he'll do it well. And on the go, they'll short. Yep. He's not a backpunter, isn't he? He's very popular with the punters. Not so much for the punters, but no, Stephen is great. And I think they get on the beat at the weekend and all that. He's, he knows football. I think now he's not playing. I know, see, now that he's not playing, Craig, any advice for him, come out there and give it, because you always say what you think. Well, usually, I mean, I think it's important if you're able to stay involved, because when you finish the game and you come away, I'm telling you, I used to feel my days thinking what an important day this is and all that. And you were just having like meetings for the sake of meetings just to try and be busy. So the important, if you can stay involved in the game, whether, you know, he's got a passion for coaching and he'll do a wonderful job. He's on with us. He's doing BBC and all that sort of stuff. I seen him on the television last night. But he's, he's, he loves football. I really enjoy my conversations with him. It's not just this current crop, it's gone back a long time. You know, you come across certain people that just love football and Steven is definitely one of those guys. Rangers fans will be hoping that Robin proper loves his football and has a lot to offer. He's, what, 30 years old, signed from 20. The manager spoke about him this afternoon. He's going to bring leadership. He's going to bring coaching qualities on the pitch. He's going, he's going to give a good example for the younger players how to be professional. And he has really good qualities on the ball also. So he's going to help us also to play a good kind of football. What about the squad? So far, how does he feel about the rebuild? No, we're going to see. Yeah, we still have several positions where you have the ambition to make it better. We will see with the budget how we can do it in a good way. I spoke about loans. I spoke about getting players in. I spoke about opportunities. Normally for the amount of money that we pay now for, for property, you can never get them. It's because he had a situation last year where the club stopped him by going and he had the clause in his contract. So those things are also important in that way that I cannot know for the moment. So what I know for the moment is that everybody in the club does everything at their maximum to get the best squad possible now with this transfer window. Everybody's doing that. I feel the support of the board, but it doesn't mean that we just can spend whatever we want. That's not the case. We know the reality in that way. We know clearly how it is. We also all together made some money free out of the club by having lower wages now for players coming in, then for players who were here, for example. So we need to be very inventive to create a budget in that way with the support also from the board and the investors who's been helping as much as they can. So we will see in the next couple of weeks what more we can. We'll talk about that in a moment or two, Mark. We'll come to you in a second. Here's Brendan Rogers speaking about his squad and his expectations in the coming weeks. You know, we want to improve. Yes, there's absolutely no doubt. I'm not going to get caught up in a whole negative toxic energy around signings and everything else. I think every club will finish the season and then expect to be stronger in their next season. And we're no different. So do we want to improve? Yes. Does the board know that? Yes. But with the tools that we have at this moment in time, the pleasure working very, very well. And I would expect us to add to that and be stronger by the time the window closes. I'm doing Pelo Bernardo's. Fantastic signing for the club. He was a young player that came in later on last season. Modern times, it's a bit of a squadron, especially when you play the games that we played. We played 50 games last season and we'll play more this season. So to have a squad is very, very important. And Pelo was a young player. Poetry got on to 21 captain coming in. He contributed some really big moments last season for us. He's very low maintenance as a player. Like for a young player, he was so, so professional last year. And whether he was playing or not, he was a really good teammate. And that's the culture that we have here. So he fit it perfectly into that. But he also could see, and I can see, that he can improve and develop. So bringing him in is a really, really good addition to our squad. Mark, will we go on Celtic first there? Yeah, I mean, at the moment, you know, Celtic, yeah, they probably are weaker in paper. But that's pretty much the same. But what you should, what the bonus is going to be and what you're going to see are you should see an improvement apart from the two or three quality players that Brendan Rose is what he bring in before the end of the window. Exactly. Pelo Bernardo should be a bit of player this season. You know, improvement in him, more coaching, et cetera, et cetera. He's had a year under his belt, set on a new environment. The same with Nicholas Kuhn. The same with Palma. So these are guys that they've got in that, you know, maybe there was one or two wee doubts about no really sure. But so they should be better players, Paul. They should be making a bigger and better contribution over the course of the season. That's a, I still think, certainly the upgrade, the wide area as well. And then on Phillip Clemonce, just that message again, Paul, we can't spend any more. It can't be like it was in the past. So there's that message that just between the board and the manager, they're putting that message out there constantly, which is fine because it's got to, then just fancy to accept this is where they are now, you know, they can't be having six or seven guys in the ways, but in the more than 30 grand the week, 35, 40 grand the week can't happen. Anyways, they're looking for a better value. And that's where the manager and the director of football's contacts came in. So they were alerted to that clause and proposed contract, which, as he said, under normal circumstances, we will be able to get them. But there's a clause in there that made us get a deal over the line, and he brings that experience and leadership to the backbone of the team. That's a really important point in terms of knowledge, you know, sometimes knowing that clause in a player's contract. And again, like this moment in time, I just don't know how far ranges are able to spread the net in terms of the finances we touch on. We know that that's an issue, but also in terms of resources and what they actually have on the ground. I couldn't tell you where range of scouts and all that sort of stuff are based all over the world now. If they are, whether that all got changed, I believe it might and may have. So the importance of Neil's Copan and Philip Clement and their network is huge, is absolutely huge. And going across to Celtic and Bernardo in particular, and the other players that you mentioned, Palmer and Kuhn, we've already seen, I think, a difference in pre-season in terms of them coming back already feeling better, more comfortable in the environment. And so you're right, there is improvement on players, plus what Celtic are going to be able to do on top of that. So there's no doubt that they will be stronger. But it's going to be an interesting battle. There's no doubt about that. But I just said this moment in time you go, Celtic are definitely your favourites. They've got a stronger side and will be stronger from last season, which every team looks to do. And I just still think that Rangers and Philip Clement, they're working as best they can at the moment. But I tell you what, it's a huge task, a huge, huge task for them. If it was a boxing match, is it an even contest when you look at the two budgets given that Celtic have so much more? Because there's a recurring theme mark just now from Rangers. And it's been realistic. The money isn't there at the moment. They have to sell before they buy. Yeah, I mean, that's again, that's amazing. That's what we're hearing. And it was inevitable that was going to happen. But we're just when somebody was in control of the club acts, who said, don't we need to stop this? It's financial madness. You know, what you can't do, you can't continue to do it. But what Rangers need to do, you're saying that if it's a box match, is it a fair contest? Let's not forget. Okay, Celtic, I've got whatever it is, I've got in the bank, 80 million, 90 million, whatever Rangers I've got in the bank, right? But Celtic are streets ahead financially, in terms of what's in the bank. But it seems an even quote. That's what the frustration would have come in for John Bennett as well. Paul Rangers budget was more than Celtic. So Rangers have not been getting value for money out of the players. They've not been getting value for money. Now you can see that that's also down there actually paying them too much. Why are you giving these guys some of these guys that kind of money? Again madness, because the one they see the one, the one they bring in titles and cups. So it's not been good enough. There's not been value for money and they're having it down down size a bit. But she's fine, so it means that you're really having to try and spend wise because you need to be careful with every single penny. That can be a financial scatter going approach. And I still think it should be a proper staff throughout the season. Just because players have maybe had more money spent on then the transfer or the salaries that can be quite similar from club to club, sorry, Rangers and Celtic. But for that one particular game, there's not, and there will never be that huge gap, I don't believe because of what's that stake in that game, that competitor. I mean, I've been involved in teams even in my early years, not so stuff where come up and beat a team that you should have never beaten, because they've got far, their players were far better, far superior. But you know what, they didn't trap on that day, they didn't turn up, they didn't have the mentality, they didn't have the desire, they switched on too late. So is it an even contest? At this moment in time you say Celtic got a stronger squad, but in that particular match, anything can happen. But a title is one that's a marathon, not a sprinter, it's over the long period and that's where Celtic's squad at this moment in time. That's why they're in a far stronger position, in my opinion. Six o'clock coming up, can you believe it? There is more from both managers, some more dynamite coming. In our two, there's only one place to be the Go Radio Football Show. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen live, weeknights from five on go. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Call 0-8, 0-8, 17-17-700. Our duty is for the supporters to give them the best team that we possibly can, because they deserve that, the support they give the club, the money they spend at this club. Okay, so we as a football club have to give them the best team that we possibly can, but sometimes that isn't always straight away. Sometimes you have to wait that little bit and it's for straighteners that can be for supporters, for managers, for coaches and also for the players, because the players want the competition. They want the fresh faces in order to improve. So as long as by the 31st of August, we've improved our team, underscored, then we'll all be really happy and we can move on. That's another part of the story, because like I said in the beginning, we can talk a few days about what we talked about the last few months. There are so many things we need to do as a club, but you need to first have a vision together, what to do and how to do it, and about that we are aligned. I think one of the important points of this club also is to reduce the amount of loans, because you come every season, if you have several of those, you come every season in a situation that or the loan was not good and the player drops off the last few months, because it's not interested. Luckily, we didn't have that one last season, or they do well and they become, because of that, too expensive to keep them here in the building. I think Sima is a good example of that for the moment. So I think it needs to be also an ambition of us to try to reduce it year by year. It's not with one transfer window that we can fix all the things from the past that's impossible. So you need time for that and that's what we want to do to get. Greg Moore is here, the Rangers legend, and Mark Witte, the number one pundit on this planet, certainly in this country, is with us in his price range, here in the Gorita football show, and they're here to speak to you in this hour. Oh, 808, 17, 17, 700, there's so much from both the managers. Squad update, 20 here, Celtics latest, here's the manager for the first game of the season. Yeah, yeah, all fine. Nick was back entry in the last couple of days, so he'll be okay for the weekend. Dye's in, we just need to assess. He may not make it. The weekend was quite a nasty knee-brews that he had against Chelsea when it came off. So we'll give that to the last moment and see how he is. Cam, fine. So the squad that we have is really good place. So, Mark, you give us your Celtic team for Sunday, Craig as well. For Rangers, looks as though James Tavernier will play certainly still at Rangers. Here's the manager. Not that I know because probably they're going to tell me at the end if there's a bit that it's big enough for a club. So I don't know every bit that comes in. I don't want to know also because it's not interesting for me. What's interesting for me is what players show in the trainings and in the games. And Tav has shown that all the time that he wants to play here. So there's no difference for me. So first game tomorrow, James Tavernier will be there, Craig. What's your Rangers lineup for the first game of the league season? My first starting 11, I'm going to go for Butlan in goals. So Tav, you've just touched on there, captain and lead the team at right fullback. Suta Davies, Yumaz, I've gone for a three in the middle of Diamandé, Connor Baron, and Lawrence, and the front three have gone for Cortez-Desers, and Scott Wright, Scott Wright, who's been in and the near law. No, I've not got that again. So I know that the near law and Cortez are building up to minutes and all that sort of stuff. So again, excuse me, maybe Cortez is not someone that's going to be able to knock out 90 minutes at this stage, but I still think he might get the start. Cheerney, I wasn't sure whether he comes in and whether he's available straight away, but obviously I don't think he would start even if he were. He was asked about his fitness today. No, I feel pretty good. The week has been good for me. Tough but good. After the years, I had a nice little break and couldn't wait to come here and start training with everyone. But don't think I'm able to start yet, but I'm definitely ready to help. What's the best possession for him? Obviously, the strongest position I feel for me is the right wing in the formation we want to play. Left-footed, like to search one-on-ones, create chances, cause-assists, hopefully. No, that's something I always did or tried to do, so don't want to change that. Mark, for the Celtic game on Sunday, can I throw that at you? What do you think Brendan Rogers will start with? They're starting a little bit. Yeah, I think Cass Postmichael, he's debut, competitive debut. Paul and goals, I'd imagine, Anthony Rousson at right back. I don't think Master Johnson's back with the squad yet, as he was involved with Canada and Greg Taylor left back and Cameron Carter, Vickers alongside Liam Scales, I would imagine. He midfields three, pretty much picks itself for Rayleigh McGregor and Hitati. A really strong and powerful midfield three up front, Kyogo, where they look in the park in pre-season, Paul, I think. By his standards, he had an indifference last season under Brendan Rogers, so expect him more from him. I think he'll lead the line, number nine. Then the wide area is going to be what he's saying, I don't think Meida would certainly not going to be starting the game, so you've got Cun, you've got Palma, you've got James Forrest. I think- Michael Johnson even was involved in school, as well. I think he would go Cun and Dave Palma as a two-wide player. James Forrest starting on the bench, because what a finish to the season he had now. He's a very good guy and just a winner. A great experience. Let's get a bit more from Brendan Rogers, then we've got a lot from the two managers, and I think it is right at the start of the season, we hear them in-depth. He's been speaking more about the recruitment for Celtic. Yeah, I'm quite relaxed. I know I'm what I've always wanted, knowing how we can improve the team, but there's so many moving parts and transfers. It's not just that player we need and we prick him, and it's not as simple as that. It's very complex. If it was only one way, then I would want to have had them in for now. Clearly, every coach manager would love to have the players in, where they could work all pre-season, bid them in and get them stable and then start the new season, but it doesn't always work like that. So whilst the work is going on behind to improve the squad and give us those sort of guys that can make the difference for us, we'll work with the players that we have. There'll be clearly some players that'll move on, that'll feel that they want to go and play games. But I can only pay testament to the actual squad because it can be a very, very challenging period pre-season. With players either thinking the futures elsewhere or maybe not so long to go on the contracts, but this is arguably one of the best pre-season I've ever had. Just in terms of mentality, just in terms of the work, the intensity and just seeing the growth in the team and seeing them grow, and that's what I've always wanted. I've done it my own personal life and professional life, you like to see things grow. And this team have been absolutely brilliant over pre-season, so we want to make these steps now and take it into the competitive games. I'm continuing to hear from both managers. He's a bit more from Philippe Clamont, who signed a new four-year deal today, came what last October. He's won the League Cup already, and he's hoping for, well, it's going to be tough with the lack of funds, but he's a bit more about the proper transfer, which went through, finally, in fully yesterday. Yes, you need to be on top of things, so you need to be inventive. So we know we don't have the biggest budget, so you need to use all the resources to find opportunities in the market in that way, who have the quality here to make the project better. And then I don't speak only about himself and what he does on the pitch, but also the things around. Having somebody like him is good for players like Lyndon Nacella. It's the same way why we recently on Belligan. It's not only to play games or to be a part on the pitch, but also of the pitch. And it's important to create a culture here, a top sport culture, really the manning culture, where everybody's every day on their toes, where they come with a lot of ambition to become better. And then if we can create this culture, it's our task as a staff to give them all the tools to develop every day and to challenge them. Craig, don't think we're going to see him tomorrow, in fact, has got to check that all permissions are through. The deal has done. What are you thinking? I'll tell you what I'm thinking. I'll drift it off there during that into thinking, not drifting off as in a bad way. Sorry, thinking about when Clemorma started mentioning players, the more and more I think about Rangers, and we're proper coming in, another central defender, a good experience, a leader as well. This has been a captain at 20. I think Rangers are set for three at the back. I think that Tavernier, we know what he can do going forward. I think in a wingback role, it's fantastic for him. Yuma's is exactly the same on the other side. I think the balance of three at the back there with somebody that can travel with a ball like a suitor. We know he can travel with the ball at the right time. I don't know, whether or not they go for that or that's set with the four, three, three. But just a game, and I see another central defender coming in, the young lad and Salia from AC Milan, as well as another option in the centre. You'd want to create maybe an extra position there to again enhance possible selection, which then aids development. When I said I was going off and drifting well, that's what I was thinking. My mind went on a football and the formation of the back mark with that surprise, or do you think that might happen? There's options to do that. Paul, tactically, you've got to be flexible as a manager, but they tend to know they've a system and they tend to play it home and away. Sometimes you've just got to mix it. I thought Giovanni Van Brancos was very good at that. You think some European games would have got to the final, and Seville, Giovanni Van Brancos was very good tactically in game changes, even half time, etc., etc. You could do some stumbling who I think will really grow this season for Rangers. Paul, fantastic pace. That's his biggest asset is his pace, and you get that pace at the back, and with that view, he's going to get away from you. That's a good call that you have. But, yes, certainly, if Philippe Clement wants to get down that road, John Sutter's propels down, he's certainly got the personnel to play about three. And what you're thinking about Conor Baron in the midfield, his breakthrough season at Aberdeen last year, is he ready to play, what, 30, 35, maybe 40 odd games this season? What do you reckon? Look, he will... No, is my answer to that, Paul. I think that he's going to play it, and his fair share of games, because he's a real competitor. He covers the grass well, he keeps things simple, he makes mistakes, he doesn't overthink, it just gets back on the job. And I've seen him in terms of the benefit of being away in Berlin. I've actually seen the way he kind of interacts within the squad, and it doesn't look too big for him. So, I feel as he'll definitely get his game time and be a reliable player for Rangers this season, Paul, but will he be knocking out 30, 35 starts? I don't think so. Mark, did you like the look of him last season 21? He'll be 22 and what, three weeks' time? Who's that, sorry? This is Conor Baron, yeah. Conor Baron, yeah, from Aberdeen, yeah, good signing. You know, to get Conor Baron and the Lord, yeah. You know, Aberdeen really wanted to keep him with the offers as well, from Serie A. So, no, he's a good signing. Again, he takes that score. He talks about European squads, Paul, what she needs. So, no, I agree with Craig. I think it'll be, I think it'll be very good for Rangers, but we bet you're slow. Yeah, slow bummer, you know, so it rhymes back to a bit of time to grow into being a Rangers player and all the demands. And he was, you know, as a manager says, and we all know, they've been there, he's had that pressure on him for many, many years in his life. Conor Baron has now joined the club, unity whenever you eat Paul. Yeah, you need to be on it. You get 50,000 watching your every move. And I'd imagine that, you know, boy, at 2122, I'll just take a wee while they adapt to those demands and get to grips with it. But the early signs of what I saw them, Aberdeen, I think Conor Baron's got, Conor Baron's got the ability and the mentality to grow into being a very good Rangers player. Seven new players and the manager did say today, and they'll need some time. Players who adapt really fast and who step into the building and a week later, they show their best football. You have players who need Swiss, some players need months to get used to things. So I don't know one manager in the world who can predict that. That's impossible to do. So of course we need time. It's with a team also. The way we want to play, it's in a structure way with the ball and without the ball. So that means you need to get experience out of that. You make faults and you learn out of that. It's like a book every day. It's a page. Every week, there are a few pages and the book becomes thicker and thicker. So in that way, it's easier if you have the seven months, you keep the core that you had and you add with a few new signings to make it better, then we would be further now. But the club was in another moment with the contracts also with the age of players with their level because we had several players who were going down in form instead of growing in form. So it's another moment. So you need a little bit of time to fit the puzzle in every sense. The season's about to get under weights to go to your football show. I'm puzzled. No, I just see you're just a quick point there in terms of intelligent players. They don't take long at all. They don't take long at all. And I mean, maybe I'm a little bit in a fortunate position when I see a a larger pour a gas going or the top, top plate, but in general, top players and intelligent players, they pick it up in a day. They really do. And that is the challenge for Klomot and maybe again, they're trying to bolster the squad with not maybe not unbelievable players. But again, you can know quite a bit about your player in terms of where they've been before. Intelligent players will pick it up immediately. No disrespect because you'll probably laugh at it. A player like Peter Lovincrantz probably takes a little bit longer. We love Peter, but he had unbelievable pace. It's clear. Intelligent players pick it up quickly. Don't worry about that. Shall we go back to Celtic then? Let's hear Brendan Rogers. And he spoke about his objectives for this season. Yeah, I think the messaging is pretty much the same in terms of when you're at a club like Celtic, it's a special challenge is every single game. So it doesn't lessen just because you've had a successful season. So for us, it's very much the same idea. We come in, our objective is to win every domestic trophy. You can't hide behind and it's another than that. We're in an exciting Champions League format, so we want to come and get into the playoff stage of that. But alongside that, it'll be, for me, looking at the football performance and the consistency of that I think there were spells last year where we played some fantastic football and probably more so towards the end, which I'm sporadic games in between. But now that the clarity is there with everything and how we're working, then I would expect us to really be a lot more consistent than what we were last season. Mark, he said the three domestic trophies are a priority. Yeah, when you think it's just a lot too early, they'll come by Comannuk, they don't be part of it. They'll suddenly come last 16th of the couple of weeks' time. So of course, that will be the aim for Brendan Rogers. He's won nine trophies out of ten, a Celtic manager, only back to back trebles and left them in a very, very strong position when he left my season, he joined Leicester. So he knows what it's about. He's a winner and if he gets who he wants in the door, Paul, and even if it came with a transfer window close tonight and they had to go with what he's got, I would still fancy a Celtic for the title. Trebles are lovely if you can do it. It's incredible. It's not easy. It's not easy. I mean, it's quite pointed out early on the show. If you're assessing the league race right now, I heard a game one this weekend. Over 30 games, I would imagine say that it will be comfortable champions, comfortable champions. Button cups. You can't take cups for a guy, because anything can happen on any given day. But given the quality of the score, the strength of the score, and the money available should they want to get those cups better for the board back and get those cups of special players in. Over 30 games, I can see Celtic possibly running by double digits. By double digits? Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised Paul. He did say there are more signings to come. He expects additions. He was asked though today, do you feel the squad is in a good place? Yeah. I'm very pleased from the fitness aspect and from the tactical aspect. But we've walked in some things over the preseason, especially in America. Again, some really good opponents. And it was interesting because I had one young player of mine who played for Chelsea, a former player, and he said after the game when he played against him, he was talking on the bench and he was talking about that. So Brendan team was playing. So that was a good sign for me in a personal level, because he has played for me before and knows what I expect in the man, and he can see it in a different team. But playing the same way. So from that side of it, it's, we're in a really good place. Mark, significant, isn't it? Because after they went out to come on, some of the sheen had gone off Brendan with some of the Celtic fans who weren't sure about him coming back, it quickly changed. And they said the team are not playing the way they can. You didn't hear anyone saying it's a Brendan Rogers team. They talked about Orange, but you can tell something changed at the end of last season. And I know it was closed season, but I think he took a lot from the Chelsea and Man City games. Yeah, I mean, yes, of course Chelsea, Man City, there a couple of weeks he'll be hiding, there was a lot of fun. But still, he'd call it, he'd play as you've still got to go and win the game. To play it, I think the most important thing for Brendan Rogers was actually how the team played. The results on the actual score line, it's how you play. So he's clearly been pleased with that, as we saw as well, Cash Pass Michael peeling off to your four right good saves, and the game too. So yeah, he'll be pleased, Paul. What was this time last year? It was back, it to deal with a number of things. One of the first things it to deal with was the circumstances of how he left. Some people just talking about his timing, but you've got to take into account why he left. And it was so important. And that's a big part of the story. Why he left? So people need to remember that, those reasons. However, so it went in fact. The fact it wasn't getting a couple of quick signings that you wanted. Yeah, it was, you know, real new, it was just a matter of when, it was good. From the John McGinn moment. Yeah, John McGinn and one or two other players in that transfer window, yeah, that was ten minutes. I don't. Yeah, so it took that a bit over, you're right. And he's admitted himself in the course of the season. Some of the performances went pleasant in the eye, you know, wasn't really great entertainment. And Brendan Rogers likes his team to entertain. But again, I think, like the point I made earlier, Paul, you're Bernard, those, you're... He's worked with these guys now, you know, in the great thing as well. Just now, you're still getting a good weather and that kind of buzz. Selt it of no midweek games. So just sat at this at our Sunday, you know, so you can get three or four really good sessions in. And that bit of frustration for him, Paul just now not having new players in the buildings that they want to watch. Because he could get some really good work in the injuries when I was rangers. This pressure starts tomorrow, then it's Tuesday in Poland. And the first five weeks, you know, September the 1st, the first Celtic Rangers game this season, that'll be a win for Philly. Come on in Binches, you see where both clubs are. Come September the 1st in terms of personnel. And, you know, our Rangers in the Champions League, who's totally cool, who wins the 1st old film game, etc, etc. So the first five weeks, Paul, okay, so of tomorrow, but the first five weeks. Wow. Yeah. Absolutely. The two, the two very, as you touch on the two very different weeks for both clubs in terms of scheduling. And so Rangers squad is going to be tested to the absolute maximum early doors. So the first block, really, really important because again, it's set in the tone, isn't it, for the season and obviously going and having that kind of confidence with the new players coming in that people bed down and you're able to really build into the season. Brendan Rogers, interview though, it's been a, I mean, again, I don't know him that well, but I tell you what, it's as confident as I've heard him speak on that start of the season, but it's still, it's a very confident Brendan Rogers going into the season. It's very upbeat. I think he's saying, he does. He sounds very, very positive about what this team can go and do. And that's without the reinforcements in the building. You can speak to Mark and to Craig, oh eight, oh eight, 17, 17, 700 kick off is getting closer. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go. The first kick off for the season league-wise is in the championship, William Hill championship. And of course, it's going to be Falkert newly promoted John McLenn, what a job last season. They're invincible and they're up against Queen's Park. It could be hoping for a good season. Yeah, a lot in the go and it's hard to call. I'm not going to ask you who's going to win the championship. It's a tough one. It is, isn't it? And there's no huge dominant team like a Dundee United. I'm going to throw one out there. Go on. Artic Thistle. You reckon the Jags? Yeah, they're lucky. Artic Thistle, seen them against Motherwall, thought they were well-drilled, well-organized. They're going to be a tough nut to crack this season. Home crowd pleaser, Craig. Yeah, that's a good shout. Every, maybe, would that be possible as I do? Yeah, this became, you know, I've lost one or two players, but yeah, them ball accounts would be the good performance of Petawji and the League Cup. So, yeah, they're in their race rovers. They'll be about it. You know, Martin, that Hamilton's just coming up. See how John Rankin gets on. You've got Scott Brown, who'll be looking to improve. Yeah. Yeah, my aye, they get David Martindale and Lydon's in. Tough, tough league. Yeah. You know, so you're looking at them firmly as well. You know, big home support. They also see how they can do it. And the game tonight, you know, folk hook, okay, they've just come up, but they've been expectation yet. Let's certainly playoffs. Maybe no title winners, but playoffs. Let's get in there. I've positioned in Queen's Park, too. They want to go on and kick over and I think Cal and Davis has made a couple of really good signings at Queen's Park. And I think that'll be a great game tonight, Paul. So, I think we've said this in the past couple of years now, aren't we? The Champions have to get really good quality. You know, it really has. And, you know, you look at the managers that we've mentioned as well, you know, operating at that level. So, I'm really good the managers in there. The sure are. And, you know, the what's on tomorrow, hearts, rangers, 1230s on Skye, multiple against Ross County at three. And then Sunday, Dundee United Dundee, the Derby have passed one, St. Marin against Hibbs at three. And then at 430, the big Skye game, Celtic against Comarwick. And a great touch, guys, that Lisbon line, Jim Craig, is going to unfurl the flag. So, caring to himself, whenever them were Celtic, including a question of sport of its day, they called it something else. Celtic, when everything that's Houston and Kearney was the one with the Glasgow University, find dentist, and it'll be great that Jim will be there. Yeah, really nice man, really nice man, a gentleman. And, you know, you'll get a fantastic reception from, you know, the 60,000, almost 60,000 Celtic supporters there from Brendan Rodgers and Callum McGregor and the team. So, yeah, lovely, lovely for Jim Craig, who was for what a career he had in the contribution he made to sell for sure. Quizball, that's what it was, route one, Jim used to go. So, Mark, you and I, we'd be saying route three, the answer, question, route one, straight to goal. So, we'll just see you on Skye there, the trophy's there, Craig. Can your own team get their hands on it? Just now you're going with great expectations, but you've been really realistic about it. Let's hear from the manager, what does he feel? For people I've asked today, where is his squad at? I'm 200% sure we're going to be much better in October and November, December, and the month's coming after. That's normal. If you see how many players left the building, how many players came into the building, how many young players we brought also in, who still needs to learn things. So, in that way, it's a squad with a lot of potential, more potential than there was last season, and for sure with the things we still want to do. So, that's also the idea to improve as a club and to become better. Does it mean that tomorrow we're going to see the best Rangers and better than last season? I think you will see some interesting things. I'm confident about that, but we're not there yet, that we are at our best now, but that's asking the impossible. Big statement, Craig Moore. Yeah, but I mean, Paul, I share his certainty in terms of, of course, come October, November, the team's going to be stronger. You would like to think every team grows into a season. The question is whether or not that come May, that the team's strong enough to be fighting for a title, because that, again, is that balance that we spoke about earlier on. And for me, definitely, Rangers are playing catch-up before a ball is being kicked. But again, that could be great motivation for everyone involved at the football club, because it is going to be hard work every single week, and you're going to have to look left and look right and really trust them back to the people that are with you. And I think that that's an area. We're going to talk about performances. We can talk about games. We can talk about improvement in squads and all that sort of stuff. I think that that's a real key area in terms of a togetherness and a real mental toughness and characters that want to support and help each other. When your teammates down, you pick them up. That kind of mentality can get you so many points in a season. I really can, even if you're not at your absolute best. So there's a lot there that can improve whether that puts them poor in a title position coming into the season. We're a long way away from that. But again, I share his thoughts in terms of the team's going to improve. Of course, that's normal with any team that Mark obviously headline-wise, you say, "Wow, what did you take from it?" Yeah, I mean, I'm just thinking back to this time last year, I was talking about the pressures and the schedule that Rangers have got in the month of August, Paul. Now, this time last year, Rangers lost their opening weekend at Comannock. If you remember, they were knocked out at the Champions League, so it was a hell of a hell of a start for Michael Beow and his first trophy and they never really recovered from it. It's important, I think, to me, I don't know, obviously, I know a lot about how the players are brought in as a manager. As I said, there's two or three that won't be making or not expected to make a major contribution because of projects. So it doesn't look at the moment. It doesn't look to me like a title-winning squad. It'll be interesting to see how they all can agile. How's Danilo going to look when he comes back? Danilo looked a part of thought then, obviously, he could get that injury and it was out for the season. So, Danilo, the number nine position, so important. So how's he going to look? It'll be interesting, Paul, and as much as I'm looking at it on paper, I think Celtic was going to win the league comfortably over 38 games, but I'm thinking it was, as we always just managed, about how positive and how confident Brendan Rodgers sounded in that clip that he played a few minutes ago. And it makes me think back very quickly, you are there. He's playing for Rangers. You and I are working. The summer of '97, when Rangers are going for 10 in a row, the Celtic have changed. Manager, if I'm young since I'm the last man at the loser, opening two games, hips and thumb, family, Rangers are bringing in your this turn and I'm in a zone. I still get loud drop and all that. I get to still get gas going. Ours is that the club he's playing for him. He's part of it. And what would you have given? What would you have said at that piece? Rangers almost set the test to win the title. After game two, you'd depict your house in Rangers, making it 10 in a row and Celtic managed to clock back. Rangers lost a few games that you should have. So it just goes to show you where you can never take anything back. All we're seeing just now is how it looks in paper. But it's about, and as I always said, it's very, very difficult. He won a title. He's won countless titles over the Rangers. And I bet there's not one title that you won that you see that it was easy because you have to go out and perform every week to get the three points in the back. Mark, I mentioned it on the program Tuesday night after you were on. I said, I remember that season. No, no, no, no. And the record, your paper record, Sunday Mail, I remember you printed, you published two teams, two Rangers teams. Looked at the squad, and it was so strong. And they said that either could probably win it. And Celtic then had lost the first couple of games. You never know. That's the thing. What are the fans looking for? The Rangers fans, you know, given what we're hearing just now, and I heard you earlier on that absolute the effort. There's a lot of new players and seven of them, but they have to give everything. That's normal, Paul, again, like I said, and it's and it's also in the way that you show that you're given everything because fans are not silly. They can sense if you're a bluffer, you know, alibi defending, I call it, you know, you charge, yeah, and someone just skips by, you're like, that's like, so they're not silly. They're well educated. And they just want to, you know, the supporters, I think, just want to see players go out there and give an honest shift, you know, and that's by working hard and chasing down times lost opportunities, putting your body on the line. And now modern day football, they want to see a tempo to it. Yeah, so they want it. They want to see the ball being shifted quickly. They want to see the ball get get forward in the quickest possible. I'm not saying route one, but you know, worked at work the ball quickly to important areas where you can start to create and have good actions for it. And if they see that, of course, you know, the little supporters are still, you know, want to see a win every single match and there's that expectation. But sometimes you're going to come up short, but as long as the effort is not coming up short, they'll go home happy enough and come out and support again next week. I don't want to do just the easy thing, which is former Rangers star says it's going to be Celtics 10. And you're not saying that, but you have said Celtic are the favourites. Mark said there could be 10 points in it. So I didn't give you the chance to come back. Do you want? Well, no, no, I mean, I'm not here to discuss the point difference in what it's going to be. I think I'm not, I think I'm, I'm confident enough at this moment in time to say that before a ball is kicked and I look at the two squads, I think that that Celtic are clear favourites, a clear favourites for the title, Paul, I don't think just wanted to be they wanted to be competitive. They have to be absolutely have to be because I can't tell you what would happen if they're not. It's like it'll be chaos. So they just need to be competitive. I think that the title, I think it'll be a competitive enough title. We need to see also some other teams, Hibs Aberdeen to be stronger. We want to see a better product, I think, all round in terms of a stronger league. Rangers are going to have to be at their very, very best to keep on Celtic's tales, but I think it'll be Rangers chasing Celtic the whole season. I think they'll be in the driving position. Really, I know it's stating the obvious, but it's a massive game tomorrow, Paul, once you take your Rangers almost, you know, have a real new look at the team, get rid of the old guard, et cetera. The manager will start and he's rebuilt and he's been very open. But that, in fact, hats too, you know, Stephen Asmith, you know, third place, comfortable, third place, this is, you know, getting in as a manager, as a young manager, hats fans will be turning up at 10 Castle tomorrow, nice sunny day, live in the telly, first game in the new season, expecting their team to go and get a result. But for Rangers, let's say the doubts, the doubts really go up there after game one. Of last season, in terms of Michael Bill, and he's saying, and even some are not, he's just the guys that he brought and some of the guys that he let go at the building, the guy was reminding me the other day, you know, Covid, letting him go with a striker, Cola, right? It was there. He was the top strike for Rangers, the year before. Fashion, Sakala. Sakala, you know, he wasn't going to get any thought, he brought something to that range, I think, so it was also about the guys that Michael Bill decided to discard. But it's massive tomorrow for Rangers to go and try and get three points, just to start the season well with, you know, out with going to Celtic part, probably the toughest factor that they could get going through that, you know, we're a new team, now we build, but we've got something about us, you know, Celtic, our favourites win the title, but we're not going to hand it to them, we're going to make them more hard for it. That's it, right? You're spot on, and it will sort of like at least show the supporters and put a message out there to Celtic to say, yeah, we're going to be there, we're going to challenge. You have to get off, whether you're home, whether you're away, first game of the season, you have to get off to win and start. For sure. You really do. And just another thing that, see, sometimes we talk about a lot here in Scotland in particular, you know, so Rangers have got the earlier kickoff getting the points in the bag, and then Celtic playing on the side, they're trying to chase all that funny, not a funny story, see in China, Kevin Musket, right? Shanghai Shenwa, so they're both from the same city, 10, 11 times Shenwa have played after Kevin Musket's team, Shanghai Port, not a word gets sent in the media, not a word gets sent in the media, so in terms of culture, in terms of the narrative, in terms of, we just love talking about everything, everything in the Scottish game, it's brilliant. Ross has been on from LA, Roskin, because he did tell me it was Quizball, in the case of Jim Craig, of course Ross worked with him as well on the radio. Ross said, asked him why he always went route one, so route one was the most difficult question, it was, as I said, a few moments ago, you could go route two or route three, and Jim said to Ross, there's not such thing as a hard question, if you know the answer. Great answer, isn't it? Good to know that Ross is listening in LA. Do you know what time it will be? 10 o'clockish or something like that? Yeah, breakfast time brunch. Yeah, exactly, with dining with the stars, no doubt. No doubt, hoping Quizball gets predictions on how he's beloved partic this will do after the break. This is the good radio football show, listen live, weeknights from five, on go. Kickoff moments away just an hour or so, isn't it from the kickoff for Fokkuk against Queen's Park, and then tomorrow? And we're going to get the predictions of Craig Moore, Rangers legend, and top pundit Mark Grady in a few moments. Before, I've been hearing from the two managers fascinating chat, Brendan Rogers was asked about Celtic's European ambitions this season. For me, I want us to be able to get into a playoff position, and I think that it's the balance because you're playing teams at a really high level, but obviously we now get eight games. We also are being realistic as well. The club has won one game in so many years, and had home so, but that shouldn't stop us pushing. And I think with the right quality of player at that level that can help us, then I believe that we can do that. Absolutely. I've got every confidence that we can do that. We were very, very close last year. Some will run down because they look purely up, we didn't qualify. But if you actually come away and magnify in on the games, the three home games, we won one, and we could have very easily won the other two. And maybe, maybe, as is a bit of luck, we could have done. The games away from home were close as well. Clearly, they had to go and be drawn away. It was a tough one for it. So for me, success will always be to try and come out of the group stages, but I know what we need for that. Otherwise, it can be a real, real challenge. We'll always look to play it in the way we want to play, put your style of football, but you also know there's balance. You have to defend at times. And I think that balance is what has pleased me as time has gone on here. We want to be aggressive and hopefully in the Champions League stay with that same mentality. Mark, Brendan Rogers, they are looking asked today about Champions League. He would love to. One of the reasons, probably, he's come back to Glasgow. Would that be fair with Celtic Champions League ambitions? Yeah, yeah. If you're just a general pole doing well on Europe, it hasn't really performed well on Europe for a long, long time. You probably last one, you think, with Brendan Rogers, who beat Manchester City in 2016. Yeah, down the good results of getting down the end. I think it was a three-three-pack kid. It would probably have to go back for a real game-changing result. It was Neil Lennon's, the boss of all that season in Celtic in the last 16 years. That's over a decade ago, isn't it? Yeah, 2012, I think it was. So, when you think about it, Paul, Celtic haven't been competitive in Europe for quite a while. Some of the points, tallies, that they've got in some seasons has been poor, lose far too easily at home. The key thing for me, it was the same on the ranch post to Colgo and Brendan Rogers' teams in Europe, Paul. I just always thought they just lacked that. But, if I crash him when it came to defending, you know that. And I know it's a different mentality than I'm probably on school or that, but sometimes in Europe, you want to just clear your lines. Just clear your lines. Yeah, get a breath, get your shape back, because you're going to bend to the coach when nobody see a lot of the ball, but it frustrates the life. I mean, when I see teams losing possession so easily by playing it about the back, it really does. I know that's a modern way, but just like to yourself, to be more aggressive and be more switched on defensively in Europe. You know what, Mark, they're not, and as Brendan touched on there, they haven't been a million miles away. So, the game's last. I think the Real Madrid game ended up blowing out, but Celtic first half were unbelievable. So, it's the top flight games. And again, remember, Celtic are a great side. And then you've got Rangers who have been playing in the Europa recently, but they're going up a notch now. So, they're coming up against players where it's flipped now. Rather than them having the pressure a lot of the time on the opponent, it can tend to be the other way around. And even if your opponent in the Champions League here in Glasgow can see the goal, there's no panic. There's a calmness, there's a certainty that however many more minutes in this game, there's one minute. There's always a lot to believe. There's always that confidence. So, concentration is huge. It's huge. And I personally, when I was younger, coming in Champions League football, making mistakes, you get punished. And again, so, as great as what we've got here in the league and Rangers and Celtic, that European level, you will still get punished. But the moments in the game are really, really important. Home game Celtic should have won last season. Yeah, absolutely. I think it's going to be great for you, isn't it? Yeah. The off-side that was the top off-side wasn't it? I've made it. It wasn't almost goal or I've made it. But yeah, you think that the way you know, it's a couple of the home games, but they just need to find a way of getting over the line, seeing games. And I'm sure that they'll be, like we said, they'll be the better for it, those players for that, at least they should be the better. And even Brendan Rodgers, for all his success and his experience, he'll still be learning, he'll have learned from that, for sure. And you know, it's tough for Rangers at the moment, but it's Rangers who've got the better record in Europe every single year. And the coefficient for Scotland, a lot of that's been down to Rangers. So let's hope Celtic do well this season in Champions League, and we'd love Rangers to get there as well. Huge game for them and Tuesday night. We'll talk about it in Monday. I think you're both back soon, which I think you're out and about, but you'll be with us soon. Because it's a massive game ahead of your predictions for tomorrow, because first game is the season that's difficult to know. It's always difficult, but we'll ask you in a moment or two. But last year from two of the new signings, so Vaclav Churney, dealing with the expectations of being at Rangers. You could compare it to Ajax, definitely, in terms of expectations, in terms of pressure, in terms of crowd. And that was also something I really wanted to experience again. I'm even expecting this to be even on a higher level than in Amsterdam in terms of, you know, what I just said. I know it's always been to a bit smaller clubs with a little bit less of expectations. Yeah, I always wanted to experience this again, so this is a perfect chance. And handling the pressure? Yeah, definitely, because I think I'm a person who does it for myself as well, you know, to put the expectations high and always demand for myself that the most, so on, you know, I have no problems with people expecting this from all of us or from myself. And well, he's been on a mountain because he scored against Celtic for Ajax. Craig, so what do you think about Vaclav Churney? And more importantly, overall, in tomorrow, we're going to go through the game's heart range is going to be some match 1230. Yeah, well, first and foremost, on Journey, he seems very confident and assured in terms of how he communicated there to the media. You know, he looks as if he's ready to go in terms of enjoying the pressure. It's easier to say that you want to enjoy that pressure. And then when you experience a real pressure, but like I said, he seems if he's going to have the experience to do that, that'll be interesting. And then leading on to the to the weekend fixture or the hearts ranges one, is that what you're going to the earlier kickoff Paul? I think that again, I haven't seen too much in terms of the preseason stuff from hearts. I think the most recent match I've seen was the three-nil defeat to Fleetwood in preseason preparation. Obviously, ranges haven't really been unbelievable in preseason, but they've been getting certainly tested. I think it's going to be a really, really tight game. I think that Rangers could shade this 2-1, but I think it's going to be very, very tight. Mark, what do you feel? Yeah, I probably, you know, I'm kind of half thinking a score draw, a 1-1, and I don't want anything else. I know producer James, you know, doesn't like it, you sit in the fence. I'm going to give you James, I'm going to give you James. I'm going to go 2-1 Rangers. You're going to see Eric 10 hike there in the telly, as you Ross interviewed him yesterday in London, in L.A. so I just wonder if any, did we know, but Scott McTomany filled him in with a big offer, but I don't think he's gone through yet anyway. I'll find him more later. I'll find him more later as well. Okay. Motherville against Ross County tomorrow, Mark, what do you reckon? Yeah, Motherville also lost the Theo Bayer and Paul sold him. We get fantastic money in for him, and they spent 250, 300 grand this striker from Australia. How's he boy? Yeah. I've got concierns from Motherville this season. Ross County was staying up with the playoff. I'm going to go 2-1 Ross County. Ross County, are we, when, what do you think? I'm going to go draw, see Motherville against part of the festival at home. Okay. I think they're going to go for a draw on that one. What about the Derby, Greg? Derby. All right. Look, Dundee and I did it. Again, a lot of the teams are speaking about we haven't necessarily seen, right? So Dundee and I did their preseason form has been a bit hit and miss, hasn't it? Yep. Dundee, I love the job that Dog's done there. I think he's done a fantastic job. Obviously, the signing of Simon Murray. I think that Dundee will shade the opening Derby match of the season. Mark, in a word. 2-2. Thank you. What? It's in Murray against Habs. Saints well done last night before 1 against Valour. Mark, what are you wrecking your old team? 1-1. 1-1. Greg, what do you feel? 2-0, Sir Murray. 2-0, Celtic against Comarnock. Jim Craig will be there unfurling the flag. Here's the manager speaking about the opponents Comarnock. Always a challenge with Derek's teams. Fantastic coach. I watched the game last night. He'd be disappointed. Okay, difficult conditions. Very hot, but it doesn't take away the job that he has done there for one. To be sat watching Comarnock in the European game was a really testament to the work that he's done and his staff. But also, I know that every time we play, we have to be at our very best, and that's what we aim to be at the weekend. So, yeah, it's a tough start game for us, but we really have to go and make that first step, making a good step. Mark, Sunday, what are you wrecking for, 30? A very good contest. 2-0, Celtic. Craig? Yeah, I have to agree. Celtic, tempo, very, very important. Comarnock's biggest threats will be from set plays. So, joint top of the table. Do you reckon by then? Would be the big two? I would think so, yes. Kasper Schmeichel, one of the Hollywood signings over the summer. I don't know that many in Scotland, but he certainly started well. What motivates him? That's what he was asked today. Winning. It's the only thing that motivates me. I've had some incredible experiences in my life in terms of winning things, and there is nothing that gets me up in the morning more than the thought of having those days. Those days where you, as a team, are together and you've accomplished something, you've won something together. Winning is what it's all about, and we be a risk, we're missing out to mention Andy Murray, who retired last night after losing at the Olympics, but he gives another good run. Scotland, Britain's all-time top sportsmen, perhaps, but the memory is amazing, Mark, aren't they? Yeah, great ambassador for Scotland, great family's brother as well, Jamie, his mum and dad, everything. But, yeah, I think we spoke about this last week. For me, Scotland's greatest ever sports person. He loved winning. No doubt about what was it? The US Open, Wimbledon, Olympic. Twice, twice. Olympic Golds. Back to you all. Buddy's club didn't sack him yet. Listen, Australians know a thing or two about tennis. Greg, thanks so much. We'll see you next week. Enjoy the weekend. Mark, you'll be back with us on Monday night looking forward to it then. Have a great weekend, everyone. Enjoy the football. And coming up next is going to be Zoey after the news at 7. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen live weeknights from 5 on Go. Let's go!
