Oh, Sugar is a great place to celebrate with friends and family and delicious food. We celebrated our son's birthday earlier this week at O'Sugar with our daughter and three granddaughters. O'Sugar has breakfast all day, lunch and dinner. There's something for everyone always prepared with the freshest ingredients. We ate a lot the other day but we did save room for their homemade ice cream. Oh, homemade ice cream and popsicles. It's great. O'Sugar is on NC14 across from the Eden flea market, open at 8 every morning. And speaking of celebrating tomorrow, Annette and I celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. August 3, 1974, yes, we made it. And it's wonderful having our family here too. I'll be posting a wedding photo on our Facebook page today. We're having a lot of fun this week with Ella, Adi and Leah getting an early start and staying up late. Oh, I think I could use just a little more sleep. Welcome to August 2nd on the National Day Calendar. Today, we're enjoying a cool treat and unleashing our inner artists. Did you know the first ice cream sandwich is believed to have been created by a push cart vendor in New York City in the early 1900s? The vendor sold vanilla ice cream press between two thin gram wafers for just a penny. This simple yet ingenious idea quickly caught on and by the 1940s, ice cream sandwiches were being mass produced and sold in supermarkets. Today they come in various flavors and forms, but the joy of biting into that creamy crunchy combination remains timeless. So grab an ice cream sandwich on National Ice Cream Sandwich Day and savor a piece of sweet history. I'm savoring history while I'm eating those ice cream sandwiches you brought this morning. You ate all of them already? I thought they were for me for breakfast. They were for the office. I bought like five different kinds. I guess I'll have to replace them. I'm sorry, but they were so delicious. Thanks for breakfast. You're welcome. From sweet treats to creative feats, let's celebrate National Coloring Book Day. Coloring books aren't just for kids anymore, they become a popular pastime for adults too. The first coloring book for children was published in 1879, but it wasn't until the 1960s that adult coloring books started to gain attention initially as a form of satire and political commentary. Fast forward to the 21st century, and adult coloring books have made a huge comeback. This time it's a form of relaxation and stress relief, so whether you're a child or an adult, pick up some crayons or markers and let your creativity flow. Coloring books are so cool for adults, it really is relaxing. I can't lie, like I like doing it on the plane. I noticed you haven't graduated from crayons though. I think it takes me back to my childhood, I don't know what it is. That makes sense, I guess. I have never been one to stay in the lines anyway, whether in life or on a equilibrium page, so it doesn't matter to me if you give me crayons or markers. Actually, that makes sense for you, okay, I see what you're doing here. I'm LaToya Johnson. I'm Marlo Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. Until next time, keep celebrating. Time now to see who's celebrating on our birthday club for today and tomorrow. Yes, at the end of the week, Friday and Saturday names.
