Good morning folks and welcome to the Gallant Fuse Morning News for Friday, 26th of July, 2024. My name's Colin, and what better way to end off the week with the two boys I've got on? First of all, it's David. You're becoming a bit of a regular. You'll be knocking me off the horse seat, let me submit. Yeah, it's just an admission that I've got nothing going on in life. It's really a badge of honour when you think about it, but your position is totally safe. Let's say I would give me one day at the helm, and yeah, you'll have a review. So yeah, I don't think it's... I don't think it's an anybody's interest for me to be promoted. Well, good to have you on nonetheless mate. Yeah, good to be here buddy. And I had a familiar face with Tonyan after a couple of weeks, well, well and break for the podcast, and after last season as well, how are you doing mate? Ah, great, thanks Colin. Thanks for having me on, and yeah, it's great to be back. Just having had a few weeks of being really busy between what and other things going on and not having a chance to connect on and do much. It's great to be on again and to be talking and just leaving this, probably what we'll be talking about, might be quite depressing. Oh, I know, it's a laugh and it's a laugh. Let's start with maybe some hopeful news in, because I've got to caveat all this with being just being linked to everybody and anybody, even seeing the one thing that we must start up again yesterday, which we won't go in there, but it's just easy journalism really new when, when journalists know rangers are desperate for letting rangers fans are desperate for content, so they'll just put a new N&M. But one that did get quite a bit attached in yesterday is that rangers are apparently in talks with man, you on signing the 21 year old midfielder Hannibal Mejbre, Mejbre, they get past marks for that pronunciation. That means well. So the region, I assume, boy, that played last week. Man, you signed up for £8 million for AS Monaco in 2019. He's had a long spell at Birmingham City and then last season it was on one that severe where they didn't go quite depending on where they were sex times. And he severe had an option to buy, which is then they take up. So no rangers are interested in him. David, I am getting real fabulous silver vibes here. The boy is obviously talented. He's not done at any, any decent level yet. What's your thoughts on that? And you've basically just took the world out, man. As soon as I saw that yesterday, I hate being pessimistic because it's always been for as far back as we can remember, basically. I don't like to be downbeat, but at the same time there's no point in doing ourselves. I saw the rumour and then I saw it gathering pace and I thought, I think we could be looking at another silver. I don't, obviously, that's something that makes me happy. I don't get a kick out of being depressed, but it's not one that ignited me, shall we say. I hope to be proven wrong, obviously. I mean, if it's true, if it happens, quite obviously I hope to, a few games in the ring, quite happily retract my statement, but at the moment it's not one that's found me with, you know, like the tides being turned in anytime soon. I mean, I guess he'll be an improvement on what's there for his position and just, you know, in terms of scored depth, but at the moment is that really a difficult task. So, yeah, I hope to be proven wrong, as I say, but it's, yeah, I don't see it being a game changer. Well, he's been possessions at attacking midfield role where he can play a bit deeper, he can play in the wings as well. So, it makes sense, we'll be looking at this type of sign in. If I've been, if I'm playing devil's advocate, he had a decent loan spare where he played maybe in 40 games at Birmingham. I think he checked in with one or two goals in the handful of assists. 20 years old, that was when they were in the championship, going to what we got as a 20-year-old and not doing too well. Asney on common, it's a tough week here, particularly when you're one of their top team severe. So, is this maybe, if I look at it the other way, is this maybe a player who can thrive in a towel and lift the light players around them? Potentially, you know, as David says, I ain't done getting fabulous overvides or amateur yellow vides with us as well, and we seem to be keeping on doing this with these types of players. I do think that as I need to bring in young, hungry, talented players, but I'd like to have seen them do something that translates itself to the injures I'd like to see them play somewhere that have been in a title fight, for example, you know, like, with a place to respect to Birmingham City, being, you know, in a good season with Birmingham City on low enough, whatever, doesn't necessarily translate to anything you need to do with the injures because they're not fighting for the European place or whatever, even in England. The boy, you can, at the moment, get again for a minute, which is fine, is there a huge comp. We listen really to our players, but I just think the concerns may be that we can come and be a man for these types of players, I'd like to see us bring in somebody a bit more experienced, and again, to bring in someone for that type of role, especially, is where you're looking at can't well, possibly, you know, the door, alarmers moving on, you know, haji potential, and everyone knows that. What concerns me, this one, is the article I read, and that's, as you say, calling, you know, journalists have just been quite free, and they're a lot of the same right now because range of spans are best, but this year's saying somebody that the article I read was talking about how it come on has wanted to make this boy a priority after the seeing him, and the game against marinated, and I'm kind of thinking, well, have we no go long-term targets for possessions, we can just be sort of, you see a boy once in a friendly game, and then you're thinking, oh, we need to say him as a sort of priority, that does near-ring, well, I don't know, it doesn't resonate really, I don't think, come on. It's very neat, in the 90s and some days I'll do a game again during just me doing so, you know. It's very follow follow as well, whatever, you know, it's very supportive of us, but, you know, how many times have you been going to the games and some of these, you know, what kind of heathier game, all that, or you're acting in the theatre, you're just saying him, it feels like that, and I think, come on and come up in together, hopefully, I'll be a bit more strategic than that, and have, you know, maybe that boy has been a target longer-term, I would have expected to see the lengths with one of those in case. My gut with this one is, it's not probably not going to happen, and it's probably not even, or the, the contrary dark, because I do think that if you're in any way decent in terms of your operations that you would identify guys, where we're here at the time, and you've been scaling them and stuff like that, you're doing just sort of saying them at the drop of your heart, but we should see that, as I say, I think, for me, one of the priorities, and to be me, having players who have done something, who have achieved something that translates to what Rangers do, and it's not about saying him a guy that's 27, 28, we already experienced, and all that, but it's just saying something that's maybe shown that he's got a stomach for a type of fight, you know, and it doesn't mean you can't have young, hungry players, but I think we also need to bring in those types of players as well. Speaking about long-term targets, saying, and inviting that to our next story then, David, the short mechanic, Jack, is starting to, his weird, there's not a big article, really, like, announcing it, but the chatter is just swaying, surely bonding away, and I don't know, the longer this goes on, the more like we are, I can see it happening, where we may not have achieved anything in terms of success, or worries, what a good pedigree, the clubs that he's played at, he's played at the Premier League level, he's played there, and you don't fuck open haters without a club, and now he's only 27. I, to put my cars in the table, I've never been about to throw a mechanic fan, but I don't know for the reason that I'm starting to want to, because, because, hey, what the whole turn, it was like, what's your thoughts on this? Well, he's a name that's certainly not going away, but just, yeah, to kind of repeat what you said, it's similarly kind of golden in the fact that it seems legit that there's solid interest, but it does just not much in your own media wise, that's probably a good thing, it maybe means that there's not any weeks or, well, not really given the newspapers any regard. So, I mean, that can only be a welcome thing. In terms of the player himself, I don't really know, from what I read, a couple of online articles, and, you know, we blog pieces and stuff, from what I read, he wasn't liked by the Copenhagen fans, could be as if you're just not settle in, you know, not getting enough time or being big expectations as soon as I cross the white line on the pitch. I really don't know, I'm not a follower of Danish football, but it hasn't came through there with a glowing reference. Pedigree wise, yeah, you're right, there is something there, you know, you don't play in the premiership, you don't be a first team regular, four-year teams by being, you know, right. But yeah, it's not one, again, I wish I could be dead, you know, optimistic at one point, but again, it's just no one that I'm not saying, or he's awful, you know, get him in the bin, whatever, but at the same time, I'm not like, you know, it's not one that makes me think that it's going to help us both in a title, challenge or get to the Champions League. But again, to be a broken record again, I'm more than happy to retract and be pleasantly corrected on it. But yeah, it's strange though, it's been rumbling for a while, and yeah, it's one of the ones where free agents got, you should play in Scotland, played in England. On paper, it's like the type of player that we would go for, so if people make that connection, even if it's just complete speculation, those operations don't be, you know, they'll end up being correct. But yeah, if it doesn't materialise, it wouldn't devastate me to put it quietly. But yeah, if it happens then, like, obviously, I hope that it becomes a good, you know, it turns it to be a good, but a business. Bill, I might be putting two of the two, putting two of the girls and getting 90s, actually, but with no Rangers are waiting to sign players, when I saw wages are freed up, short mechanic, he's been without a club since the season finished, he's no sign for anybody, so putting two of the two of the girls, he's waiting for a certain club to do, certain Rangers are waiting for their chance. I don't know, but again, that's so we could say that, how many players should we say that, but should I take on the Stroke McKenna scenario, Bill? It certainly sounds plausible, like the fact that we are waiting to be up a space in some wages before we bring someone in, and it came to that's the bill, especially if the lights are old so it's going to move on. I don't have a problem with beginner as a saying name, again, I've never been a huge or a Scotm again as a great player, okay, but he's always seemed solid enough. I think bringing somebody in that's got a good day to be a audience and is going to be there and done it at a good level, you know, I think that's definitely something that will benefit us. You know, he's obviously, you said he's putting Europe for Copenhagen, he was being in a tight or tight over there, no doubt, and that was heaven well, I think it would be a good lead when the others around him make the prisoner and stuff, so yeah, I think bringing in Scotm again a good day to be a good move for us. My concern, and that's the same concern that I had for the both United, is the type of wage that these kind of guys would potentially, you know, what if he's put in the Premier League, that well, they have certain expectations that we just cannot meet or would be my business for me just to meet, you know, like, if he's looking for like a four-year contract on wages rate at the top level that we can offer, is that actually a good deal? You know, you have to ask these types of questions and, you know, if we're falling operations are competently, we'll be asking those types of questions, can we bring either of those two guys in on a deal that's going to work, wage-wise, and not answering us for three-four seasons down at lane, because we've seen it too many times, you know, that somebody like, well, it's just back in the end looking out of a roof who can send on huge wages. Get back to school ready at Whole Foods Market, the best-in-class event is packed with sales on organic seedless grapes, organic honey crisp apples, apple gate, deli meat, and more. Start your mornings with 365 by Whole Foods Market organic frozen waffles and better-than-cage-free eggs, then put dinner on the table with breaded chicken nuggets, savory swordfish fillets, and fresh salad kits. Make Whole Foods Market your back-to-school destination. My dad works in B2B marketing. He came by my school for career day and said he was a big row ass man, then he told everyone how much he loved calculating his return on ad spend. My friends still laugh at me to this day. Not everyone gets B2B, but with LinkedIn, you'll be able to reach people who do. Get $100 credit on your next ad campaign. Go to LinkedIn.com/results to claim your credit. That's LinkedIn.com/results. Terms and conditions apply. LinkedIn, the place to be, to be. And then has a good season in the Bay, a season and a half, but then spends the next couple of seasons out basically injured, and we're paying them huge wages. And how many things have we talked to put that on here, and how many players out there are going to score to start a flight to. So I do think we have to be careful, and that would be, although I think McCain is a good player, and potentially the right fit for this given score-ish experience, where he's being what he's done, the huge wages question would be something that they can say under the boot. And I think it's not just about the next season under which we'll have. It's three or four seasons down the lane, if you can. A awful lot of these guys if they're on huge wages. So we just need to be a little bit careful in that regard, I think. And I wonder if that's why we're looking at the world market. So I'm guessing he may be at one that we'll look at. Juan Jordan is there for a loan that they were working in a show, and a back laugh, surely. That's why we're going to be alone. So at least loans we may be options to buy, and I wonder if that's maybe the plan this year where we know we've got a lot of young boys that were waiting to ripen over the next couple of years to reinvest high wages and home players and nobody tied in the next four or five years. It maybe makes sense in a transition season, which this is whether we like it or not, this is another transition season. It doesn't mean we're right at all, but I may only be aware of those big chains going on. A lot of it's three and a half wages in the last one will come in, and it's a really hardy one because I don't think there's too much in it, but we'll run away anyway. Report started coming out from talking yesterday, and a weird way. I think it was a Greek newspaper that broke us initially. I've not got to try and pronounce the name, but I can't wait. So I was willing to explore our interest in Sam Wammell's, and David, I think it's clear, AC that if this is true, John wants some age clearly teen advantage of the refeder friend bonus, or I don't know, maybe some different follow-ups became the director of football at that time. I don't see this one happening, but I think it'd be a buzz if it did. Yeah, I had my suspicions about someday infiltrating when I saw the director of football was called Schugma Care for me. I think they seem to like a Rangers player, let's be honest, but I don't think Sam Wammell's, I don't think it crumbled at Rangers. Can you imagine what he'd be like in front of a Turkish crowd by God? It seems to have his heart set on getting back to your heart, fair enough. I think we'll get that wrapped up soon, if it turns out he has going to Trebsons, but I, I mean, first I'll, I mean, let's be honest, I'll piss myself laughing, but because it'll be a broad day like theft by Rangers, but the fees look very fluctuating, depending on where we're reading who you're listening to. I've saw as low as 1.5 and as high as 5, which is, I mean, it'd be great, but let's not get our hopes up. But I do think he's destined to go back to Holland. I don't think he'll want to go to Turkey. However, talks do have a habit of offering higher wages. They also have a habit of stopping paying them after a while, but at the same time, they might dangle a carrot that's too good to, too good to sit on down. But I think, remain, I think the best thing for us to do is, if the support is a whole, I mean, remain live over here, didn't presume that it'll end up banged up. No, I agree with you. I don't see this one being too much here. I go on, boom. Obviously, Sam Marmalls will be playing with a beating for the rest of his range of career, if it was only last time on 1. So, third Campbell's number would be in the same position. With no beating, we'd get your thoughts on these two. But what's your thoughts in trying to move these on? And basically, the reason I ask is that that paper was called 'Fomogionuro'. And I think it's nonsense to expect players who you won rid of, and you've got training with the kids to get a high value for, I don't see you getting too much money for Campbell or Llamas. Yeah, I think that, like, we were basically needing these players at that point, so we should be taking any sensible offers. I don't see Llamas going to touch me personally, although, you know, if Trans-Bones board becomes like a landing ground for a range of guns, I'd be quite happy with that. I just fucking send Campbell there as well, you know. I mean, with Campbell, like, Llamas was different, I'd admit, protect your little livery, Llamas were dangerous. Like, they'd rate Campbell, I like Campbell, I thought he had more than the Lascion, but I respect the manager's needs, a bit of less. You know, I think, Campbell and Self is probably wanting to go, and the manager's decided to go, actually, out of the work, but also, you know, that's fine. I think we've got a trust come on, because we kind of become one of these folks. We're keeping just a cycle into the managers, we need to, you know, believe in looking for more for the next couple of seasons, and you've already seen in terms of us being a transitional season, you know, I think even then I say, we struggle this season, I still think we need to stick with one. But yeah, to get a greater point about transfer fees and what we can actually achieve for these guys, they'll be on heavy wages at Rangers, and I think the overriding concern at the moment, it's just before the start of the season, three octaves, that's the wages, I don't think we can demand huge transfer fees for guys that trainable team. On Llamas, like, either, I agree, going to Valen Hall, and I was thinking towards the end of last season that, you know, we could be seeing, a bit more from Dr. Walter and that there's no really materialised, you know, which is a wee bit disappointing because I think we could have done more to play that talent advantage probably. But for whatever reason that hasn't happened, and that's the shame, I tend to get the feeling that, you know, if we've just been a wee bit more savvy and a wee bit more, and pressing with it, and if we've had guys out there speaking to more of the Dutch clubs and trying to, you know, put them off against each other, look at a bit of fee for Llamas, but I think now, you know, we're coming to the end of July, the season of a start, and pretty soon, it's, let's just get these guys off the books, whether or not they can, really, and focus on getting in the guys that we're going to need, because, like, right now, whoever would bring in isn't going to get a huge amount in terms of free season with a manager over the squad. So, I think we're not at the point, probably, at FEDCants, really, for that, I think it's just clear for next season, doesn't it? It really does. It does, I know this should have the future card, indeed, as harsh as that sounds, like, you need to earn that, and I think that's probably yesterday, David, as well, like, we can have it up, and use it on wheels, but again, like, we're just, we're just the guys sitting on our coaches on our podcast, where we were miles, as well, if we're going to come on once, if that means that Scott Wright is a new number 10, then it's going to need to trust them. Last time we got me then, Jen, the new cat came up yesterday. I do feel for the range of social media, and I also used to be told to go and release us, and that barrel of abuse is getting just because this new cat isn't a new sign in. Okay, we've shot the messenger, but David, what's your thoughts in the new cat? I'm very much of the opinion that I'm just annoyed at the range, also anything they put out, I'm annoyed that if it's not a sign in, so I've no real opinion in the way that I would have if it was maybe, if it was maybe I announced on one for go. Yeah, the timing could have been better from, you know, from being an easy on them. Every reaction, I mean, the reaction on social media, if you want to engage with the wider support field, then you can kind of thumb it down by several notches, you know, I mean, the social media thing's always cranked up. I did laugh, though, my pal, she was the first to respond to it, and it was the new cat tweet, and she just responded, where I mean, but it was, it was the go-to jail square on the monopoly board, but it was said, it said, go straight to fuck. Now it's like, oh my god, I was like, you're at the starting blocks this morning, then. I think the pricing and stuff, it's, I mean, a bald cat, I don't have kids, so I mean, I'm getting off my way. I generally don't really buy the jersey from myself either, so it's not a financial issue for me. It's more just the kind of, it's another indication that the club isn't, what's the phrase, reading the room. They don't seem to be on the same wavelength as the fans. They could have either waited or they could have rushed it, you know, before the Scottish Cup final or something, and had a, you know, had everybody rocking up at hand and that, bit of your money spinner, but yeah, expecting people to part with 75 quid for the non-pro version, when, you know, there's not really much business-wise getting done, where it matters, it kind of says that they're not, yeah, they're maybe not gauging the, you know, the opinions of the guys that have already, you know, spend enough auction on season two or whatever, the first and second kits that are already out, probably. So yeah, per time, but it's a nice enough jersey. But why would you enjoy the kit itself? It's one of these, it's one of these ones with kits. If we win the league this season, it'll be a lovely kit, if we're doing it, it'll be terrible. Um, I mean, that looks okay, I guess. I probably went on a great length before on the galaxy of it, how I think problem with football clubs for notecats is, like, I appreciate the need of them to make money from that some dazing, but I just, and, and invite a mental sense, which we could do more sustainably, you know, like, instead of making all these kits sort of plastics that are just going to end up in the ocean, whatever, I do think, like, if we could just have kits, made it something sustainable, like cotton, and I get the electrical and sports engine, what has gone into that, to where all the cools are synthetic, but, like, that's a huge environmental course, it's all the oil that has to commit the driving to make the plastics, but then the biotic rate, etc. So, yeah, I mean, whatever football kit anybody releases, I'm always going to have huge problems with it, unless it's, like, natural materials, but I've said my piece, and I'll say it again, probably this time next season, so catch it back to your viewers. Oh, no, it's fine. I think the viewers have come here expect that every year, you know, you, you will sort of see a piece in nine every year. I will have a thumbs up about my jails and the pricing as well. I'm going to say, there's another portrait of the industry in that storm off under there, but don't worry, the mid-off my jail's a tantrum is on the cards, folks, but it's just, why do we need teakets, why do we need a bit of a 75-pound, but I'll say if there was another despair for this Friday morning, maybe kick off Monday, we are buying, you know, and I'll go in there. But I'll do this for today, folks. As always, thank you very much for listening, everybody. Last night, we had, night off, we went back out of here as I hope you've won, hope you've won the budgets for missing the live show. So we put up there, one for the archives, one of the first members on the shows, it was the 10 questions in the view with a wealth marshal of Rangers' Rebel fame. So, wealth, these many are story-forwarding Rangers, so go back and listen to that. That's available wherever you get your podcasts. And over the weekend, the two of their days will be on for the members only and the patrons, and we'll be back Sunday night live as well, and we'll start working ahead to next week where the final friendly will be done and dusted on Saturday, and it's a short time.
