Hello and welcome to the daily news on the gallant view for the 28th of June, 2024. I'm your host, Scott Young. I'm delighted to be your big dean from the Rangers Journal. I think how you're doing this morning. I'm good. Thank you. Scott, how you get on par? Yeah, not bad, mate. It's always an hell of a check-off for these kind of hangs, but no. Like Fortha, it's a good bit of news to enter. So let's get straight into it. Yesterday, Rangers announced the sign of Liam Kelly. As obviously his contract is by the model and he signed to give competition to Jack Butler. First of all, Dean, what do you think of the sign before we get into what him and come on, said? I think it's a very good, sensible sign-in. Can you play the club? Play much, just a ready-made replacement for Robbie McRoey, as well expect to leave this summer. Text, obviously, the home-grown box. He changed club home-grown box as well as for boxes for the European squad registration, and he brings with him a wealth of experience. Notice what the club's all about. Oh, that jazz, he's captain at Malabell, so he'll bring leadership qualities. And he's been around the Scotland squad for a while as well, hasn't he? So he's quite so after, so very, very smart business. My name just to sign up on a two-year deal that we've gotten for a time. Yeah, I have two-year deal, yeah. To my name, very, very astute business. Kelly said, after signing the club, Kelly said it, "Unbelievable to be back at end, just when I left, I probably never thought I would be back, but I'm so delighted to be here. I know the size of the club I spent 14 years here, so it's a great feeling I'm looking forward to the new challenge. You always have faith in your own ability that you can play at a top level at this club, and this club is the highest level. I'm doing a really talented group of players, and a really talented group of cool keepers, so I'm excited." Manager Flibkomont said, "I'm delighted we have been able to secure the sign of leave. We've had some really positive conversations, and we need a goalkeeper with experience in Scotland, and then the Scottish Premiership, which is valuable to our squad." I just want to talk about Klomont said there at the end. A goalkeeper with experience in Scotland, and the Scottish Premiership, which is valuable to our squad. Do you see that? Do you see that him that is him hinting book and had more Scottish Premiership players? Like we've seen Danny Almond on Linen Millar, so I've been like, obviously Cora Barren's already signed. Do you have long short ones? It will never not be linked. It'll be 45 or tired, and we're still missing long short ones. Do you think, do you see us signing more players from Scotland? Or do you think that's just that? I think that managers are always there, but that's kind of signing. No, I'm fairly confident in that, but we'll definitely look in that market. I've said this for a while. Excuse me. Successful in just teams of years going by have always had a playthrough of SPLE experience, and so you need that in the club, and we need it for squad registration, as I said. So, that last year was a shambles of things to say the least, that how bearable European squad was on Barren. So, obviously, Clement has seen that that was a massive failure, and that changes are needed to be made. So, I'm pretty confident from that statement. That kind of substantiates my thoughts anyway. What about you? Yeah, I'm angry. I think Scottish premise, as you said, like, we do need a group of Scottish boys. Also, I was deciding someone, so we don't need to play Scotry every week in Europe, especially. I've done one is to get enough Scottish flow, so that's got to be solved. That's smart, so lame when it comes to signing a premise up to him. Danny Armstrong seems to be the most concrete-linked. A couple of guys who follow for all of a sudden, they're normally quite reliable. He seems to be the most concrete room at the moment, who I won't be against. He's a winner, which takes out Scottish position again. So, yeah, I think, as you said, maybe if you're lying in the mailer as well, someone over that ilk could be good. I'll do the next story. Fixture day visually, yes or no? Probably getting the sort of fixtures, sort of the details, I've got the key ones. Would you stand on, like, fixture day? Do you see it as a big day, or do you just see it as a... ...just a thing that'll happen to you? I know a lot of folks like counting down to these kind of days. I'm not bothered about it that much myself. Where do you stand on, sort of, fixture day? Um, I just look to see when good front games are done then. I kind of just go with the flow with the rest. I'm not particularly bored about the rest. People have wins all the way to the end then, or at home to the end then, and we've got to play everybody, so in my opinion, it doesn't matter if we play, if we play, when we play, everybody is. But it's good to see the, the changing of the third up old firm fixture came back to being in March. Um, it's, you know, sometimes there's potentially three, isn't there in the space a month? So, um, so it's good to see that, that they're sprayed out. And obviously by, so, I've been able to look at it completely, not like to go that, that, that isn't all in our break this, this season. So. Well, yeah, that didn't realise either. Nah, so, um, I don't know how that's going to interfere with, you know, um, pitches in, pitches in, pitches in, yeah. Because in what it was like last season to say it was like, because it's never normally went on as the issue with weather in Scotland. It's March. So. Which, sometimes Scotland, by that's it. It enters out of the key fixtures opening day. We're kind of going back to back in terms of this. Because we played hearts away last, last game of last season. We're going hearts away first game of this season. Uh, you, you touched the new firms, new firms are 31st August, setting the January, which is obviously the standard one, and 15th March. Yeah. Is there any other games at standard? You mentioned you sort of just look at the old firms, but any other games stand out. Like, our first five away games are hearts. So, take down tonight to Kelly and Abilene. Can I ask how much tougher than that? Is there any other other games that you look at? Well, given the issues that most teams gave us last season as well, now I'm like Ross counting away, done D away, then I come in. I'm not, I'm not actually like thinking that they're easy games. I mean, the team has to go and earn the wins. And given off how easy it was for teams to play against, there'll be up in their hands. So really to make changes there, we need to make them fair as again. And at the current moment in time, they don't. So, so every fixture of my opinion is a hard fixture. And see, I think just the ones that I look at to find, obviously know that the old firm games have this sort of, I guess the games that could decide through the title goes, but as I said, every teams are a hard game. And that lead, given how the bottom teams played against us last season. So, the fact that we're playing them all away and precious, see, I think we'll have a run of playing against, you know, the harder teams. So to speak, I'll be, that's, we're able to see, see off out over the course of a season of mapping them. Just looking at this, every first game of iBrucks will probably have at the end of September, just obviously we'll get into what, what Neil Duncaster said yesterday. But where do you stand on iBrucks at the moment? Where would you like to see our alternatives? Would you just be with us, Marty Field or Hamden or whatever else? Well, my understanding is that Hamden's going to be difficult because it's got what's going on itself. Marty Field, obviously been a good option in terms of capacity, but I don't know much about grasp. I'm pretty sure the grasp has to be different for football than it has to be for rugby. And the rugby season sure kicks off, bound about that time of year as well, if I'm not mistaken. So in terms of things like that, I don't know how that's going to go. But with the extra money that we'll be able to get from supporters because I'm pretty sure we will maximize the capacity there without question, we'd go to, the funds we'd go towards us having to pay. These are you for the use of the stadium. Yeah, so we're probably may take a hit for actually. Let's go on a new dumpcaster said yesterday on our sort of stadium issue. Unfortunately, these lines happened. I used to run a club, I meant to build a stand and went very close with the lead to make sure our fixtures went ahead for only three parts of the ground available. Now the fixtures are out, we are lazing with ranges. Obviously, they've got a far better hand on walks than we do. We'll be doing our best to work with them to try and figure out what is clearly a difficult situation. We've been very impressed with when you chair and John Bennett has tried to strengthen relationships across the game and we'll certainly be looking to work with him and his team and be as flexible as we can while it's being fair to everyone. That first said, the thing says to me that an option is iBrux, we just close the code one. Yeah, there's a big clean in the park. So I don't know if he's playing the clean at seven and a half, which probably wouldn't make that option. Or I'm going to try and find ways. I'm not, I don't know nothing about construction. So bear with me here. Or you can try and find a way to sort of hold up the stage, hold up the stuff by being able to get rid of the clean so that it's playable. So I don't know, would you see iBrux as a feasible option at all? Or as you said before, like, money filled or hadn't been probably more likely? It's a catch 22 because you could do money, but then you've got to compensate and have a lot of fans that have season tickets in the code plane, which would be a hard thing to do. But then, I guess, reducing the cost of the season tickets would be something maybe able to do and then give them like free entry into a Winston house to watch the game. Do you know something like that? I'd think fans would be okay with that because nothing better than getting much experience. But if you're getting like sort of, well, a reduction, your aim, season ticket, and you're getting your entry into a Winston house and watching it with all the other fans and having a drink and things like that, I'm sure there'd be a lot of fans that would would be okay with that. That's definitely could be an option, I think. I think there's also, there's always tickets going up and out, there's always your seat sub tickets, there's always, you've got to be able to just focus on tickets all the time. So there's probably ways to get a select few from the Copeland into if there's a seat sub flying, then fall from the Copeland, we get an email saying ticket available for Dundee or whatever. So I think that has visible options. I never really thought about Ibrux being used at all. Giving up a black first sentence from Neil Doncaster said that Ibrux could be used. So, well, I think we'll probably find out within the next couple of weeks because we get European games so that need to be thought about when it comes to we're up at a home like, yeah. But go back to sort of fixture, the moment fixture is really suggested that first game of season are way to Aberdeen and then the two old firm games are the second of October, 17th of November and the two games, it goes away first game, it's a way to Glasgow City is the 13th of October and then we're home to Glasgow City in the 15th of December. Where do you see, obviously, the women were very unfortunate with the way the season played out last season and already made a couple of signings. Where do you see the women getting on this season? Name, let's have to kick on from success that last season and just continue on that great path, hasn't it? To be the base in Scotland, it was as simple as that, the infrastructure is there. As you said, same signings have been made. I mean, they've really got the last season, they've really got a great opportunity here to kick on and do the strong field hold on the women's game in Scotland. What do you think? Where do you, obviously, as I said, last season they lost the league where last minute go and again they weren't going in and that could be a real kick in the teeth. I can only imagine what was going through the head when they found out that it was Hib Southwick, what played, and they found out Southwick's called the Edge Hibs. So that can only go one of two ways. It can either be the kick at the arse they need or it could completely do their confidence momentum, that kind of thing. Obviously, after they were able to win a trophy. So I'd like, I think we are favourites for the league but it will be tight again with, I don't think Glasgow's set will be up there. I think it will mainly be in between us and Southwick, with Glasgow's set. So I just wouldn't get in and out like they always do because I don't think they've got the financial strength that the two from clubs have. So, I think, I've decided to get started in early. It's a decent, worth experience, managed to keep some of the main ones from last season as well. Like a couple of the parties. So, you never really know really, as the same with the men, you never really know until about signing until you've seen them kick a ball. It's been too many people already sort of writing signings off of the men's team without having actual seen them play. So it's just a waiting game to see how they all gel the first team. Last, last news story. The Home Kippers really suggested that it was on sale at the time of the corner. It was on sale 20 minutes ago. So, after you were to see the cat, what do you think of the cat? I get a bit of some retro vibe from it. What do you think of the new cat? I've been definitely a bit of the virtual vibes going on. I just, I think it's a new cat. I don't really have a fight. There's a lot of people who are hate it or love it or do you know what I mean? It's just Home Kipper will buy it, they'll all buy it, they'll all buy it. So I'm probably, I just, that's kind of where I'm at, where I'm at. I mean, it needs me to buy it because we want to read it and we want to give money to the club. And as government into the club means we can see more players, things like that. It's just, I will all be buying it for ourselves, like kids and whatnot and it'll be a... Hi, it's just, it's just what you do every year, isn't it? Yeah, there's not much you can do with a blue t-shirt, let's be honest. They always try their best to make something a bit different. But in reality, it is just blue with a couple of lines on it, which it is every season. When the new cats come out wearing just two items and everyone's in the gawk one, they'll come into the alternate experts when it comes to fashion, which I've never understood, but that's all for today. Um, cheers for coming on, Dee. Thank you very much for having me, um, quite really busy over in, on the Rangers Journal. Head over there, guys. Um, like, share and subscribe to us with content coming out every day. Um, and it's probably the fastest-growing pod on YouTube at the moment, so I am good to come on and work with our, um, good friends at the Galaxy. So thank you very much for having me, Scott. No, that's not a problem. Before we all go, I've got a wee thing I said on to plug. Anyone who's been watching these for a while will know I'm doing something called HiRox, which is sort of a fitness assault course type thing, and I'm doing it for melling cancer. Um, doing it to my mum and my uncle, who we lost around about this time last year, to cancer. He was a big blue nose, and I'm doing it in his memory. So any donations to that would be very grateful that we'll be a link in the description. Um, so yeah, any donations to that would be much appreciated. And that wraps it up. I chose for joining everyone, and we'll be back on Monday with another episode of Daily News. [Music] [BLANK_AUDIO]
