[Music] [Music] Hello folks and welcome to the Gown Few Rangers Podcasts. My name is Carl McDuff and I'm delighted to be hosting Father Night Live as always here to join me and as I'm a bit more prepared than I because I'm the reason we're waiting tonight because I thought at 10 past 7 I'd be able to make it to the Fort and back and get a new pair of jeans. But a man of much more common sense than I, it's David T. How are you? Yeah I find going. Thanks. It's really, really warm here. As I said to you before this clean, I'll get the air conditioning on cold for the first time ever. I've never ever done that before. It's just, it's just absolutely been really hot here. I'm telling you to tell me if you're talking a bit turkey, they were up in the 40s. I think that would die with that. No, we're in the 30s here. Andy, I love David the best party, doesn't he have Keck you when you're doing it? When his person down there, anything was raw, he has to remain, remain just how good he's brought it. But other than the way they have a you, Andy? I'm not too proud of it. I feel like you're getting close to the toyed camera, kind of Instagram, kind of finable, kind of actions are going to the fort and getting genes of all things. What is this, man? Yeah, you're going to be slander the Rangers to whatever for next week. If that keeps up knowing none of our support at the times. I don't know. A proper Rangers podcast I would have went, got trousers, I shot and tie and polished of shoes, none of this jeans and trainers, no one since most of them have stood for that. I motioned them, they have Kistor though, didn't they? Everyone knows, weird culture clashes, boasterous and then Kistor. Hi, I've seen weird across all of us, I must say, but last but not least, I wrote to all the listeners. First of all, everybody watching live on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, get your comments and as always and I wrote to everybody else watching or listening after the fact. As always, give us a like, a follow or subscribe, wherever you get the broadcast. I think we're up to 2,100 subscribers on YouTube, B.G. over the next month or so, we could get near 3,000. So, give us whatever you need to do for the algorithm, wipe, substrate, fall, it really does help. So, gentlemen, let's get the show on the road. I've had a bit of news to talk about today, actually. I might start with a very beginning, well, at 9 a.m. the SPFL random generator, which does the seem that random spat out the results and David does a few key dates. So, obviously, for the log, this is when Rangers will be starting a new campaign and I've got to start that as they finish it off, away to hearts and two home games, which may not be at home and then we finish August off with Celtic, away in the 31st of August. So, I'm not aware of the roster and any other games in between. In terms of, I've seen a lot of people more than about Celtic being so early on and the old fun games have been quite early in the season over the last couple of years, but it's just a pain in the ass for those that we are hopefully going to have a European Champions League qualifier the game before Celtic. Yeah, well, I mean, it's a mock-up of the board, isn't it? No, I mean, to go back to not having an eyebrow already, that's the big thing. When is it going to be ready? Hopefully, I'll be ready for the games in the end of August, which I doubt now. Obviously, if we move into September, then the 31st of August is going to be at Hamden. So, that'll be a real goal. I don't think there was a real firm game last year, it was really early. Was it not the first one? No, so, I'm sure it was the end of August last September, but the game in the fair, first of August, David, is at Park Head, and that's what I'm saying, the way the fixtures would fall if we get through in the Champions League playoffs, we're playing on the Wednesday, and then putting out a qualifier on the Wednesday, the 28th, and then at Park Head in the fair, first, which is less an ideal. Yeah, well, I mean, I've ever won the League last year call, and we wouldn't have had that problem, of course. So, it's got to fit in somewhere, and yeah, it's unfortunate. Hopefully, it would have been that way anyway, because we would begin through to the Champions League, we have more games in Champions League, which would probably fail when we sell to Kenaway. So, I don't know, I don't know how to make a big thing of it. I mean, the year away, we went to the end in Europe, we were absolutely playing brilliant during the week as well, we didn't make much that much difference on our Sunday as well. So, I don't see it as having a great problem. Listen, you've got to play everybody, you've got to play at older grounds, well, and I see you have that stupid system at the end up, where you can get three games from one team. Now and away, so you've got to play every day home and away, and yeah, I don't see it being a big problem. And the end-jump move, it feels effective for yourself. Just a lot of people who really just teach is there until October, there should just be brackets away, brackets away, brackets away, because it's not the same. You can see it's a home game, but if it's not Ibrox, it doesn't feel like a home game. I see that now, I'll go to the Man United game at Murrayfield and be more relaxed about the whole thing, but I'm still very much in the how the hell have we let this happen, camp with the whole Ibrox, the backhoe. But yeah, I mean this, as David said, you get to play everybody, they'll be, you know, everyone's first look is at those games against that mob, because you can draw up anyway you want to, but they're the most important games in the league campaign for us, and especially given our form against them last season, it was certainly a good time to catch them 31st August. They lay the market down for the campaign that we want to have, so I think that's the one we really need to be circling in the calendar. And they just own the, I've just the backhoe, I've got to share a couple of let's not call them in, so friend of the pod, Claudia asking why they're not switching home games where they're opposition and playing their way games, or playing the home games away and then reversing that. I think Wallace McWalk when there's answer and Kurdish question by saying the SPFL getting away again. I think when you, it was never going to happen, the Rangers play more away games on more home games, because I say, I'm part of the country, we'll find a conspiracy when there is none, so giving them another reason, it's just the SPFL will never go to do it. I mean, let's not forget this mock-up, it's not the SPFL's fault, this mock-up is our fault, it's not, we can be angry at the SFA and do what they want, but it's our mock-up, it's not theirs. So, I take David's point, Andy, I'm passionate as ever, I love it, I love about fire laughing, David, but two roles don't make a right, if I sit in my high horse, just because one of the member calls do make a mistake, I think the SPFL should be able to help them out, it's our job, do you have any real take on it, Andy? I mean, yeah, I can understand that it would probably be easier and, but again, you know, favoritism, it feels like all this will get branded as from the other mob, I mean, it feels like we were getting hit with a brush even over during the COVID season, the reason we were playing so many games and they were nice, because they were the ones breaking the rules, you know, the fact that we were playing the games that we would have been playing on schedule, whilst they were sitting in the sidelines having a quarantine, there's their own bloody fault, and yet it felt like it was our fault because we were getting some sort of advantage when playing the games that we were scheduled to play, but I mean, that's just how it is, that's the lay of the land, that's the landscape of Scottish football, you know, it's from day one and that calendar, you know, we just need to do our job and try and put everything outside of the football pitch and keep it there, you know, everything inside the lines is the most important thing, just take a game at a time, that's just how it's going to have to be. Absolutely, so as I told you, it's a 1-1 game at a time, 1-3 in front of the other, I put up a repo and for the YouTube Westerners, where would you rather play in multi-field or Hamden, and it's buying on 50/50 a lot of comments coming in for, you know, for argument side of the road, the Hamden apparently has back on the cards, the pitchers dug up for a coin sort of spot, it can be relayed if the SFA choose to do so, and also that would come with a bill for Rangers, so I think both are viable options right now, I think they need to sort out if they do choose multi-field, no playing, they're not playing the same day as hearts at the time, so I'm not too sure about the hearts, but gentlemen, I kind of ran and didn't wave about that last week, I'm not right around the way about that this week, however, I do have something else to get off my chest, and I hope you will indulge me along with the Westerners as well, so if we look at these fixtures, right, every month there is four games, with exception of September, where there's only two other games because of those rugby week football, a week up football and in the national bidets, December, fast forward to that, and there's a next or two fixtures, and there's even like four games over 15 days, every year, this absolutely enables me, so football fans in this country are absolutely done up with kippers for how much they pay compared to the product that they get, to then add on two extra games, plus schedule the Cup final for the most expensive month of the year for the vast majority of ordinary people, is nothing short of criminal, I absolutely detest it they do this, they put pressure in, and everybody but particularly families who go a football games, and because it's no cheap to go yourself, it's even better to take families, David, you can probably call it being paced and re-edit this time, this time in the pre-season, over the last two or three years, where I've had the same run, it absolutely rails me, and it will continue to rail me until they start doing the common sense thing. Yeah, obviously, December is a very expensive month, but I think it's sort of a, I mean, English F.A, they've got four games out of it, Christmas, if they know it, they've got a game before Christmas, they've got a game in boxing day, they've got, I think it's sort of a taking from there as well, the football sort of does that, well, obviously the Dutch and the Germans, I think they have a winter stop, and then at that time, and there's no games quite at all, so I don't know, we tried that and we sort of didn't like it, although it was after Christmas that we had the winter stop, so it might be an idea to take a winter stop at that time, to make it easier for the fans, that would be one way, it is a big, the only thing is calling you, I mean, most of the, there isn't a cup of fine, no fair enough, but most of the people of season tickets anyway, so the games won't be away, yeah, they'll forgot buying hamburgers and things like that, but I mean that's a choice, that's not a, that's not a must. I get the whole argument of anything to do with football, football is actually a hobby, that's fine, but you don't need to put people over a battle with it already, so know everybody will be wanting to go, we'll have a season ticket, three games are including a season ticket away games, and I'm just going away and I say, oh, let me know in the comments, contact your MSB, they will sort it out, it was my chance that Andy get to make it tonight on the live stream and that happened, but Andy this, it wouldn't be sense to have a winter break, I suppose, but though, where they can take advantage, the government bodies are absolutely well, otherwise, they're too much time on it, I'll wait, you can make, because I know I'm just shouting their clothes, nothing will change, okay, you're unusually, I might actually turn in, you know, these pre-election arguments shows, I would actually turn in for that, if it was you just complaining about, I wouldn't say complaining, it's a different thing, complaining than making a point, but it'd be nice to have the politicians you, about the Christmas break and then the guys who are adding the price of the pies, I always find that funny, closer at home, my dad's, I think we've still got the shares in the club from when they're asking for it and it's entitled to go to the AGMs and stuff, when it always goes, I'm going to go, I'm going to complain about the pie prices, I want the gold and winter salt and vinegar crisps back and I think it would be great to do that, but at the same time, there's enough schmucks with horrible questions at the AGMs as it is, so let's keep it the way it is, I get it, 100% get it, but again, this has to be chopped out in one of those things where you go, that's modern football unfortunately, if it's an option to do it here, they're going to 100% do it, that's just the way it is, unfortunately, but I will, is of both being polite in the way you've told me to shut the fuck up, so I will move back to the football then, David, the officials is one of the only news today, the angels find the way I know it's in William Carey, join him for Motherwell, so the official scarf above the William Carey hat, I'll write them, Motherwell will write for as much as you can, like an opposition keeper, and the way it was quite well thought of when he broke through the angels, for me, I'm taking this, what they're going to do is to rob him, he's going out of the door, so he'll rob him as he's going off, this is an excellent back up goalkeeper they have, but it's your thoughts on this. It's a very surprising, he wanted to do that, come on, I would have thought, thank you, I would have thought that he would have wanted to have first team, especially now that he's ever broken at this court, it's what I would have expected, maybe he's very confident he can put Jack, put one down, but to be honest with you, Baldwin was the best keeper in the way he was, he had admitted himself, and yes, I get a good goal-giver, I mean he said that he stopped, he stopped the earth shots, I know a lot of times, when he couldn't really have, that would not have been hard. No, that's true, although they end up with, I think, they're in once, come on, they come in, they start shooting, I mean, dear mind, this court from outside the box, if you look at the European Cup at the moment, the European Cup, sorry, if you look at that, then they're shooting from everywhere outside the box, so maybe there's questions to be learned in that, but no, I was very, very surprised, I was absolutely amazed when he come out to the camera today, the issues, I thought he was going to use the box of concrete on, we don't know where to get issues, so probably the same place you get your jeans going, but no, I think he's a very good backup goalkeeper, I'm surprised that he wants you to do it himself, and very grateful that he did want you to do it, and hope that he does what he says, and also brings Jack Baldwin up a year, that would be great as well, because while he's facing it, Baldwin did make, at the end of the season, did make quite a few mistakes, I'll put it quietly, and penalties when it works absolutely nowhere, so that's my two complaints about Scotland, but obviously it's something that Sticksaves as well. Andy, Aldo in the comments, we've got his own improvement in both Robbie, McCroney and John McGorkewin, well, he's absolutely spot on the route, John McGorkewin, he's nailed that one now. Maybe people would argue that Robbie McCroney, at that point, me personally, I think I have a little spot on with both of them, we, Robbie McCroney signed the bench for the best part of two years, when McCroney was being forced into football and comes into his shop, so I think we know who's the former option, albeit Robbie McCroney, me going and developing a better keeper, but in here and now, Kelly's up. I'll not be in terms of number two. It's remember the Rangers are going to be moving Robbie McCroney on for a fee of around half a million pounds, and I say I want a fee. It's one of those things, it's very hard for any young player to come through, and just myself and I'll show up with my client on top of this on the on their morning users today. It's even harder for the goalkeeper because you're waiting for one sport to become available, and clubs tend to make out one sport, the more, one of the most reliable people that you have. Definitely, I think it's actually interesting when you look at both the players in isolation, you know, McCroney, the younger keeper, but has followed, you know, essentially the same kind of pathway that we always do for our keepers, and obviously with Kelly being x-ray just he followed that pathway himself, so it's Robbie McCroney, or William Kelly is where Robbie McCroney would hope to be in maybe six years' time, you know, you're talking about Kelly who was, you know, making his way up doing him once and as we do, bring it a step up each year on one, get a higher quality team, a higher quality team, can he impress? There, yes, he can, let's move him up another one, you know, and you know, Kelly did exactly what Robbie is probably thinking of doing right now, it's the I'm not going to get my chance here, I need to go somewhere else, you know, Kelly goes to Livingston, again, like, that follows another whole string of Scottish football where Livingston just get good goalies, I think you'll find that Livy always seems to pick a good goalie from somewhere, and that's William Kelly, and he went down south, he came back up here, and he's made himself, you know, a solid keeper at our level, which I think we knew at the time he had the potential to be, but he was never going to be able to reach that potential sitting on the bench, and I think that's exactly where Robbie is at the moment, he's never going to reach that potential sitting on the bench because he never played a game this year, he never got cup games, he had nada this year, which I think maybe is also the kind of difference that he may be able to expect in the bill, I don't know if Bill at the start of the season maybe had plans to bring him in for more games, but they're never materialised, so he's going to do what, you know, an example that he's able to be able to set for him, you know, I'm not going to get my chance here, Rangers, I need to go somewhere else and get games, and you know, Ross went to Aberdeen, he's down south and now he was in the Euro squad for Scotland, I think if there's any better blueprint than that, then I don't know, it's because it's any zone family that says you can do it, you can use what you've learned at Rangers and go on and have a better kind of solo career for yourself, but it is, as Ross did, he goes with the blessing, you know, it was, you know, a dangerous year at Academy Pro, that never actually our boys, you know, struggle, I want them to go on and be, you know, be the players they can be and then come back, you know, as Kaylee's going to do, so I'm happy with the whole thing as a whole, so just wait and see how, you know, that kind of tandem will work with but on the Kaylee. Obviously, there's been so much spoke about that we just chucked up this year, that I've been ghosting them and then we've always joined on some Ryan Jackson, Barnabas, which we've all seen your players as well, over the last 12 years we've never really replaced guys like Scott Arfield, who I mean, the four season pro's who can contribute off the bat, John Donne, David, he's been signing with John Barrigan, who hasn't got a feature too much, but day-to-day will be a good example or whether I think the same can be said about William Kaylee, he's a model professional, he was a club captain of Marvel, and I think this will be really good just for taking up the standards that they may not see there improving on the pitch directly, but I do think this is a decent role-rest sign in where the rewards just outweighs the risk, but particularly on that leadership group, somebody who understands the club, understands the expectations and has experience in leading a group of whales. One of the things he said in his interview call, when I don't know if you've seen it, he said that when you've been asked what he was really wanting from it, and he said, well, I want to be a better person first, and then he says, and after that, I want to be a better goalkeeper, well, personally on the field I would rather decide the way about it, it was a better goalkeeper first, and then a second, a better person, but no, I think he'll probably get a cup games, I think the wake up and probably the Scottish Cup to a certain level, and then obviously the first keeper we get to start to get the same, he said things like that, well, it's really hard to have done a certain goalkeeper, then he'll probably get pushed aside then, but it depends on what one's going to do, but I don't see Kelly as a first-time goalkeeper call, and I think if what would we use, does we, which isn't 100% certain, whether he will or whether he or not, I don't think Kelly's a first-time goalkeeper for Rangers, they might prove me wrong, I hope he does, but I think if what would we use, we have to start looking for another goalkeeper? I would agree with you, but I'd also agree that when they start giving sign, sign choice goalies and the cup games, because I think the only way to have two viable options that goalkeeper is to play them, if we go through the full season with William Kelly, playing a game of football with Jack Butler and get injured for the last three games, we'll bring him in someday to a potential title race who's an open football season, and I always made the comparison of Neil Alexander when we signed him at Rangers, he might not have been first-time goal ready, but because we played him through the cups, he improved and he was always ready to go, Alan McGregor would just have better goalkeepers than Neil Alexander, but Neil Alexander became good enough to go into the Rangers number one and eventually did, that's why I think it's short-sighted, just to play Jack Butler every game, I'd be waiting for William Kelly, yeah, game time. Yeah, I mean, you know, I'm happy with the backup choice now, if it was, I'm not saying I wasn't happy with Robbie, but I feel like before we kind of gave Robbie the spotlight, and it was McGregor and McGregor and I wasn't happy with McGregor and he came in, there was upsides to it, I thought, well, McGregor, but I was mostly because McGregor's downsides at that time, I went and McGregor could maybe distribute the ball or be a bit better than the Greeks, but I think that was mostly because we know what Alan McGregor was like in that last season, that it's nowhere near the levels he would, and I'm sure he would have met that, you know, I think now with Kelly there, if we are to see, maybe after a tough night, at night in Europe, we're under the course, maybe, that if we're playing someday, you know, in the league at the weekend that you can chuck Liam in there and be happy with knowing that he can do the job, and I think, yes, but on, I think we do need to get away from just being a cupkeeper, I mean, it works at a time, you know, we have done our last couple of seasons, but I think, you know, you've got a relatively decent keeper there as an option, why not use it? I suppose, yeah, but I wouldn't use the world, I wouldn't throw our guys under the bus for that, but you can see why it was, that wasn't a viable option at that point, but with Kelly I'm a wee bit more, I'm happy with it, I mean, it felt like some of the games we played against Motherweil with the only games he didn't do very well in, I think of a couple of tab free kicks, but I mean, he's wrapped up a couple of keepers with those, but he'd be good in other games, I mean, he doesn't get picked for the Scotland squad without being, you know, a decent keeper on our level, I think he'd be probably would have had a sniff at the start and keep on giving the fact how bad Angus Gunn was, in my opinion, so yeah, I mean, I'm happy with it as a whole. Andrew, John McGaughan was a favourite of a few, a few, a lot of supporters before the beginning of the season, last season, and he got games right up to the game as itself, he gave me the big wonder, and you never seen him at eyebrows again after that, it helped with him, he wasn't even playing for the reserve team after that, so it's a big responsibility to put in, set and keep her into big games like that, but I can't come in that one, I, it's a big responsibility, but one more plan for the boys comes under six things, so you're going for the angels, whatever the games are, a big responsibility, I don't think we can afford to have, you know, I think, I think Nicola has said, it's just an insurance policy, I say, I say, I say, I'm choice growing, I think you can maybe be able to add your fob choice growing, say, I'm choice growing has to be good enough, so, and I say, we know the Joel McGorke one, you know, Wesley Foyata, and that was just a bad game, that was an absolute crucifixion, he got a pocket, but I would say, Wesley's the only one, no, that's probably Mary, I say, you know, of, I say, you need a team at the point, but David, my point is, he was brought in very good for that game, we reduced the rest of that, and have your goal, keep, have your same choice growing has games on these belts? Yeah, that's for sure, I agree with that point, my dear, but I mean, you are talking about, was it Jack Butler's on heading towards the 40,000 a week, and what will Kelly be on, maybe 10 to 12,000 a week, so you're talking about a few... Get back to school ready at Whole Foods Market, the best in class event is packed with sales on organic seedless grapes, organic honey crisp apples, apple gate, deli meat, and more, start your mornings with 365 by Whole Foods Market organic frozen waffles, and better than cage free eggs, then put dinner on the table with breaded chicken nuggets, savory swordfish fillets, and fresh salad kits, make Whole Foods Market your back to school destination. My dad works in B2B marketing, he came by my school for career day and said he was a big row ass man, then he told everyone how much he loved calculating his return on ad spend. My friends still laughing me to this day. Not everyone gets B2B, but with LinkedIn, you'll be able to reach people who do, get a hundred dollar credit on your next ad campaign, go to linkedin.com/results to claim your credit, that's linkedin.com/results, terms and conditions apply. Linked in, the place to be to be. Money doesn't always result in the product, but I think from what I've seen a button, I've seen a Carley. Carley does make some brilliant saves. I don't think Alan McGregor may come back to Rangers as well, I don't really think that people were expecting to turn out as good as he was. It's too way to look at it. Every day doesn't get a chance, it's not going to do well, that's for sure, but every day it's a chance, you've always got a chance at it as well, so that's definitely the reason I wouldn't let that suppose. As one of those things, we talked about my growth and coming in from the cold. I get that, it's definitely, if you're not playing consistently, you're not going to be on as much short as you could be. I keep out at Marlowell who played every game, was a captain. He had one of his best performances away at Parkhead, where he had 20 shots and was their man of the match, got his team a point. You're not pulling disrespect because I think he's a lot of good keeper that we've got a key in right up to fill straight in. Guys, it's actually the beauty of knowing this league you've played against, so you've been to Parkhead with boss teams and what we're hopefully going to have this season, I know it's all this, but it's the moment if we could get this or if we can sign him, you know, and I'll have the utmost hope that we can put a really good team this season. But he was doing it at Marlowell, and that's no disrespect to them, I think they were a decent team, but they're not Rangers, and he was doing it for that team without defense in front of them. And again, our defense isn't brown, but it should be better than Marlowell. So I think, yeah, I'd all act together. It's not the worst piece of business I think I've ever seen the Rangers. Probably goes to Ian Black, but I wouldn't be scared if I see Kelly at the top of the list, if we're going to Parkhead, as if I would be if I seen McGowan. See, it's a podcast, we are quite unanimous in the other slide for Ian Black, so he's quite worrying how often he comes up in these boards, honestly. See that cast, Mulligan's doing a charity fight against no, I'd happily go against Ian Black and undercard for, why I don't know why he's coming up. The thing about Ian Black, I will reference until the end of the time. I went up, I can't remember what it was, it would have been about Christmas time, I think it was like that kind of Christmas hot school hall, these are the kids doing, you know, Wayne Black being our team, and I was going to make a story, get a rain just top or something, Christmas was Christmas money. And at the till they handed it, it was a sign picture that Ian Black, and he said, "Oh, he was just saying this stuff yesterday." He was like, "Doesn't hindsight make you understand there was spares from that signing session?" I mean, it's on himself to be fair, he never made a great attempt, you know, when it's over, but I think that is the most, like, if Jack Button was doing a signing session at the megastore, there'd be queuing from my house to the megastore, but there was just spares kicking about, "Do you go have that with your purchase today?" It's basically, it's I'm not being black. Okay, so people started to end the comments, where the worst comments, what the worst signing ends are, somebody just said, "Joy Button," and I think we should move on, that is my way because this is a part we don't want to ask to have seen over the years, but Aldo has PTSD kicking in. So we've announced, in the last 10 days or so, William Carey, Coronavarden, before that we've signed the salary, we've announced, we're on bar again, courtes, heftes, so it's been a fair bit of business done, James. I think we can already, there's no nail-dowing improvements to the first 11 year, I think that's the way we come. Me and Mason speak every week, more on the Sunday transfer roundup, and we both say that, right, the transfer window only opened maybe 10 days ago or some. The European Championships alone, the big clubs have not done the business, so it will be a domino effect. It doesn't help, it doesn't stop, it's all getting ahead of ourselves and mourning that wave, no head player sign. So, I want to touch on a couple of rumours. First of all, David, the range of journals, we have very good friends at this point. If you don't want to get on with you, don't know why, you wouldn't need to go and check out the range of journals. They're saying any updating, Damien Garcia, just to rehash everybody's memory. This was the boy who, his agent was claiming, was getting paid after up in Sowik over in Argentina, and he was below the minimum wage, and he was getting absolutely shafted. So, he brought a company, Europe, more slightly, they just then, out of nowhere, he's managed to get a very lucrative deal for the to stay the same club. But now there's other reports saying that they're still working to move elsewhere. David, I think we'll do it, yeah, well, it is this summer. Agents know that the range of's are in for a massive rebuild. Agents want to get money for their players, so I think Rangers will be used a lot in the media just to drum up and trust. I think Damien Garcia has been going to see this boy happening. This was a 20-year-old Uruguayan mental that filled up, that would be a great addition, maybe Phil. Yeah, well, from what I've seen him on with the time call, when I was really looking forward to him coming, he was one of the top ones that I really hoped it would come. And when it was too off, then I was really pretty disappointed. You don't know where these, South America, you don't know. Instead of I do one time and I mean, look at the last one we had, he was frightened of the cold. So he got here and then decided it was too cold from I don't want any of that. But I don't know, Colin, I'm not in the director's box at Penro, was it? I think Minnie asked the man who knows all of those South Americans. We all love and trust Steve Clark, and he does different Belgian Dennians, are just well there at all, so we shouldn't have assumed that we should never say that South American again. Yeah, well, there is there always has a danger. I mean, but if you look at some of them that have come through, Ajax and Fine or PSV, they're famous for bringing over South Americans and did they do well for them? I think the guy that played for England, Phil for Liverpool, sorry. Suarez, he was one, I mean, you can't say he had a bad career, started with Groening, I think, went to Ajax, went to Ajax and ended up at Liverpool. So, it wasn't any sign in the hit on this. Look at the Celtic side and that big donkey, saying that half, I can't remember his name though, I mean, any sign. I mean, he was either the only good reputation in the Premier League, and it just sort of had disappeared. It was falling over his own feet. And I certainly remember Mark Haight with AC Milan. He's not South American, but he was falling over his own feet. But I'm just trying to say that any new sign in Mark Haight was absolutely brilliant for Rangers, but I'm just saying any sign and there's a danger and a lot of it. But Cassia was one who was going to come and I still hope he does, although the fact that it's start, stop, start, stop, sort of a puts me off a wee bit. Andi, Cassia is not the only one also we see in the Bazaar. Bazaar tight is where he shows a cut-off as a agent. Well, it was all, but done, where Rangers, Rangers are not filling a table and the agent, which is coming up and trust them. It's, there's a lot of rumours flying over. I mean, the day when usual has been very, very busy. We're talking to all these rumours, but that's just trying to be something work we see. Until August, I'm afraid. Are you worried that we're not getting in the marquee type signings yet? Well, you missed one of the signings that we made. I mean, that boy, the Romanian boy is playing at the Euros now. He's like a new sign and I had you, honestly. He's, when he gets back, you'll be like a new sign and they had to get the Cassia in there somewhere. Yeah, it's a silly season as I say. I know that's, that's agents are doing a job. I just spot on the press, the media, everybody knows Rangers are the horrible season. Rangers are such a big rebuild ahead of them, and they're going to have to say in every player until the sudden, or that's at least what the papers will be saying to you. And, you know, it's, it's, it's just going to have to be the classic weight until the scarf, which is released for these players. I mean, Cassia was a player that I thought perfect player trading model, actually, for example, right there. It's the classic football manager just read South America and sell them on for a boatload of cash. The boy had braces. I don't know. I don't know if he'd be top class. He might have a bit of growth to do before he reaches that boatload of money. But yeah, I'm kind of kidding. I've had anything actually, you know, now you look like, you know, somebody that we really should have been chasing after, because if we were going to be the teams that would have been left in the dust when somebody big, you know, would, would do it. I mean, I've seen some, when they, this whole talk about the contract extension it was offered was, was kicking about those are going to be a 10 million, you know, release closing it and you're going, well, that's as straight as I was getting buried. Yep, we're not getting there. We're not getting anyone near that for a boy his age. But you know, as I said, it's, it's, it's contradicted stories now, what the deal is. If there is a deal to be made, then I'd love us to go and do it. But you know, money is our, is our top, you know, that's our top priority. And if it's going to be right, then we go for it. And if it's not, then the job of our direct river ball recruitment and our scouts is to have the contingency. If you don't get that boy, who are you going to get instead? And I think that was exactly what we wanted from our, it's not just the director of football. We're always getting a director of football recruitment to be in here to do the rebuild. So I have a faith in new shopping. I think I've not been disappointed so far. So, you know, long summer still or not really to be fair, but it's not about the football kicks on. And I think we'll see the right moves being made. Sometimes you've got to invest though, call on Andrew. I mean, if you look at Joey Feynman, we walked away from, what is it, seven million? I think we were supposed to be going to pay him. He's going to be going for funny money in the, four before the beginning of the season. And then you look at him and for four one dollar night, he'd get taken off because he was absolutely hopeless. But that's a probably Joey Feynman. We would have got it. Even at the Kent treatment, maybe it had four years. It had two good deals. The third year would be awful and it would be released free. And they would have made his way to Turkey, I guess. But, I mean, it's these are the love you learn moments. How many, I'd love to see like the flashbacks for the Rangers length with X player. Stick them straight in 11 and see how good that team would be, you know, your message, length and loan, your Ronaldo's back in the day, but there's some squad. And then Lewis Ferguson in the midfield. Yeah, that's good. That's going to be a cracker, one stomping, playing in 40 degrees temperature. That's okay. It couldn't, it couldn't, it couldn't, you know, in 18 degrees. I wonder why all day before, he didn't get used to it. You've joined once to my own, you're fucked just sitting bottom in 40 degrees, all right? You'll get my joiner in. He's away. So, David, I've got to come to you next, Andy mentioned one of my main crashes, Giannis Haji. And he had a very, very decent game for Romania last night. Obviously, he's his first star. We know the interest that Haji always has around the continent, particularly in Romania and Turkey. Well, his name is just absolutely, seismic and scale, just who his dad was. He's on the Pepsi cans in Romania, whereas we have, you know, Messi and the Pepsi cans over here, that's how, that's how I went for it is. My self-instrument has been in the day or in the news. And I stand by the, it pains me to say, I love Giannis Haji. I think he's the right player in a year or two's time. I don't think he's what we need this summer. What would you do? Would you bring him home or would you cash in on him? You see, this is a sort of an argument calling that I asked David Paul this other day on the pod we do. And it was about squad players. Now, a lot of people are saying Haji would be a fantastic squad player. But the fact is, you don't want squad players. We want every player, that comes on to the park. We want to be as good as the one that goes off the park. And having a squad player is, we shouldn't be talking about where the squad player is Haji as good as what we've been putting there. I think it times he is, but it times he isn't. And that's a problem that is not a lot of speed, but you seem to be a took out the guy for the penalty last night. They've passed him quite easily. And then he gets good at it. Yeah. So, yeah, it's a difficult question, but the embryo was starting up exactly like Haji as well. I think he's a good football player. I think he can make a difference coming on to you a match. Is he a starter? And that's a bit with me as I say, I think every player should be able to start. And it's Haji as a starter. Yeah, that's a bit of a pressure. Can I sit in the fence for this one? Because I like Haji, I really do that. I think he's a good football player. I really do it. And I think I'll give you a decision. I think I would keep Haji and see what going on can get over. And I think I find this summer's rebound has to have, when it be, when it be the first, we need to focus on what a priority is on. For me, I find we need, we need pace, we need strength, we need physical ability as well as quality. And I find players like Haji can wear Tom Wardens are very, very similar. And what they can do when they're the best, but they're very similar and what they're limited with as well. So I find there's only space for maybe one of them. Because you do need a player like you do need actually number 10. I don't know how often we'll play with it. So I don't think we keep on throwing them. Would you? So not just Haji, all three, no strong position. What are you doing with them? That's what the weather was saying was that Lawrence was told they could find a new club for five million pounds apparently. The record was same. That's right. If there's a team world to pay five mil for, you shake your hand, you say now going there you go. Thank you for your service, Tom. We'll always have a kill away. But it's just, I think I've said it to people in the past. I think Yannis Haji has got the X factor and it just needs to be the least. And I think under Clement, it would work more than I've seen it in the past. I mean, he picks out people. He has that. It's just that something that you kind of put him on a box. He'll find a pass. He'll don't be sure to find a space in any way or lay it off. I think he just hasn't been used properly at Rachel. He suffers from the durable effect of just taking him out in the wing and see what happens. He's not a winger. He never worked. Put him in the wing, just emphasizes that he's not a sprinter. He's not fast in the way you need to be to be a winger these days. It's just saying that the vision he's got. Some of the passes I've seen him ping. It was poetically timed. I think it was Bragg away for the Kent goal in Europe, where Alex Raine Combs goes. Ranger's willing to get the ball in behind. And just as he says, behind, Haggie picks out Kent along in behind. And we went and scored for him. I think he's someone that isn't afraid to do the kind of dirty stuff in the game, get the tackles in as well. The name would suggest maybe he looks to the player, because he's the son of a legend, and he will always have a team because of his name. I think we've seen the times at Rangers. He's not afraid to get in amongst it. It was again, I think it was Bronberry. I want to say in Europe as well. I know it wasn't. It was Geos first game actually, where he slid in and the tackles resulted in Alfie scoring against Sparta Pragg. I think it was for Geos first game. He's got that dig. He's got the vision. He's got the talent. I think that's perfect for a come on team. I think seeing him in pre-season, I think the gaffer can make his mind up and I'll trust whatever he says. But I think there should be a space in our team for Jan and Sargy. I do really like Jan and Sargy's attitude. I really, really do. I think I don't want to pick and talk down well because I talk down well because I really, really talented. I've maybe been about inferring him. He told me I was excellent when he's older. But I think he did more application than a better attitude for Jan and Sargy. I do agree with you, Andy. But it's hard to say because he's not being there. It really is hard to say. Just before we move on to the final point, just to be sure to first of all, I thank you to all the listeners and all the supporters who listened to the podcast and even they got thank you to those who support the podcast on the £1 Monday or so. As you may or may not know, on Patreon or YouTube, you can get extra content for just a £1. So we do do the day on your show for everybody. But you even get to see the two Davies behind closed doors by their yard of day, every Saturday. There's a lot of content coming forward, paying subscribers. Some dimension quality of Canadian in the comments is good to have American watches based on maybe something on him. There's a certain big fan of quality of Canadian in this point. But I've gifted their 10 memberships and basically, I guess, your first month free. So I hope you enjoy the content and if you do, please do sign up. If no, again, just fine as I like. That's all we need. I'll be like. So gentlemen, I'm going to move to the final point and it's probably the most important point of any preseason. Of course, the new homestrip. David, that was brought out. That's been what I'm showing tonight. Very plain. I can't complain because I love a plain homestrip. Do what you want with our way in the fourth one. Just I want a plain bouquet, maybe a white core and a plain badge. I'm quite happy with it. I'm going to caveat that with if we don't win the week of season, then the strip will be forever, forever tarnished. What's your thoughts on the David? I'm sorry, God, I haven't seen it. I don't know. I haven't moved in Swiffler on Andy. What's your thoughts on the forebanding? I like the touch with the divorce, Matt, the court. I think it's it's it's harking it back to a, you know, Hummel having, you know, the names of the, you know, the gallant pioneers, I think. I just need to watch where we're going with this. A slippery road is to finding lyrics to songs when we're not listening anymore on back-a-tops. Keep going to that road. You're going to run out of positive rangers related messages and quotes from managers and it's who knows how far that could go, especially with some of the origins talks we've had in the past. But yeah, I like it. I mean, as you said, it's such a nice kind of plain, blue rangers talk. I mean, it's you know, I would certainly be going up in trying to get it as soon as possible. I don't like the fact that it's always these like Friday 8am jobs, which, you know, it's difficult enough getting up to go to work at the moment, just the way it is. But I need to get up and now have to spend money before I even left the house. It's a tough, tough game, but it's so, such as a small problem to have. I mean, I'm buzzing about it. I think some people will be happy with this kit and not happy with the people in said kit or in the video. But we could do a whole podcast and as you've done in the daily news about us sitting, James, having your inside talk. I could be a long discussion. But yeah, final thoughts. I'm happy with it. I'll summarise that the discussion is going once and so the transfer window is going. And I keep on getting comments in 12 and 4, 4, 4, here. Sorry? You're famous in the record? Famous in the record. Well, it's not a first time they've bumped. Never tell you, but when I had the record there, because when we had the back in the day, when we interviewed Dave King, you know, maybe for your boys time, the record was quoting none of you and then he used any credit. So I was right on either email. I was like an angry Karen, so I was, but I fucked it up. Look at you in a support call and such an odd subject. Hamza, saying this, I don't deal, but he's just in holiday so they can't present him yet. You're in the know. Is it a done deal? Is it Morocco? Yeah. I am not in the know. If you want to get out of it, it's done, it's just waiting on the announcement. I don't know what the delay is if it isn't holiday, but I'd imagine what the crop have done in previous seasons when they wrote news, they started it out. So particularly when there's a lot of negativity surrounding ranges, i.e., the crop and roadblocks. And by the way, that's where I sat, I'm raging up this. See everybody come in and say, just play with the three stands, like, nah, I'll have to pay my money as well. But, though, so when those all the cylinders and the officials came out, it makes sense that they want to stagger the good news every few days, so we don't care whether they've announced a lot of contact extensions for the B-10 players as well. So, if your money has happened, he will be the next one done. I think they are waiting for me. I think they'll be waiting to see if they'll be caught up to the Moroccan and Pichrot or not, and then they can give about a detail on when it's actually going to join up with the Chrot, but it's happening bad in, I don't know, bad in some harpswood to have a state that, like, everything's agreed between pail and clubs. There you go. You have it here. It's good enough for me. It's good enough for me. I'll go and start the graphics forum signing. In fact, I say that already did it for the is it Moroccan Clock 8 tweet last week. So, we have slightly jumped the gun on it. The Moroccan clockers go back tonight until the announcement tweet. So, put your Morocco clocks on hold. That's my device. And by the way, see when he scrolls the winner, or even though not going to go some point next year, that will be the Sunday livestream title Moroccan clock. You hear the hearth of us folks. It makes sense, you know. That really does. One other thing over the point I was thinking about, Colin, you mentioned that rangers were going to get hit by a bill from a returf in Hamden. So, there's stuff. Why not be dense park? We could put that in. Hi, then. A lot of lessons were taught about Raphael's shirt, and that's probably as much use to Hamden as well in the dense park, tough. So, I think, I think that shows you how much your bio option I find that is. But gentlemen, we are fast approaching the Aramark. So, of course, thank you to all the Westerners always. We really do appreciate it. Thank you to everybody getting wild in their comments. What is known if you're watching after the fact or listening after the fact, what you think of the points tonight? Well, that's just always left to do. Thank you to my two guests first of all, Andy, always been always a pleasure to be here. Thanks, Colin. Thanks for getting David here as well. Last night, everyone who was tuned in tonight. Great, great time. Good laughs were hard. You know what? It's almost football season. I don't know. We've got this pre-season camp in Holland and then Manchester United at Murrayfield. So much for our friendly game, especially our home game. It's just a day to when there's David putting the album, the album, again, Max. That's so much of an aircraft. I think that's your, to sum it up in seven seconds of content, that's it there. David, always a pleasure having you on my phone. Thanks for coming on. Yeah, thanks for having me, Colin. It's great being on. Thanks for all the guys that have said, they've enjoyed having me back. So, and they said, some of them said it's been a great point tonight. It's been great to be doing it. It's always great to be on with you guys. So, no. I think we'll be, tomorrow night, we'll be recording our David, the two David shows, or the gals too, as we call it. So, hopefully that'll be out sometime at the weekend, I think. That's if David doesn't forget his phone in his work again. We missed it one week, because David left his phone in his work and he didn't have any other way to record it. So, one guy I said, I want to say about the new shirt, Colin, I noticed that the box advert is a lot smaller than it was this year. So, that is a big thing. I quite like it. We had a look at it quite like the red stripe. I like having a red in it. So, I think it's, I know you don't want to ride in it, I think you say. But I've got to ride the ride in it. So, thanks for the listeners. How you going? That was nice of you, Google, the home top, right before we finished up, just so, just so you can apply, you know what I mean? But, yeah. Thank you everybody for listening, as always, and I'll speak to you again tomorrow morning on the news. Good night, everybody. Take care. Planning for your next trip?
