Jason sat down with Jesse Iwuji. Jesse is an American professional stock car racing driver and officer in the United States Navy Reserves. He competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series driving the No. 34 that he co-owns with NFL Hall Of Famer Emmitt Smith.

Iwuji was a letterman twice in football and three times in track. On the football team, he was a two-star recruit. During his junior year of high school, Iwuji was contacted by the Naval Academy and was offered a scholarship to the school. After becoming a Naval Officer he was later deployed on the USS Comstock.

Jesse shares insight on his childhood, which shows the focus that his parents instilled in their children and led by example. Iwuji is of Igbo descent, an ethnic group of people in Nigeria.  His parents, Sebastian and Enderline, immigrated to the United States in the 1980s. He also lends what has worked for him on his pathway to success and what helps him maintain discipline and focus to push through hard times. We also talk about his NASCAR career and how his passion for cars started with the hit TV show Knight Rider starring David Hasselhoff.

This is Jesse Iwuji in his own words, on the Knockin' Doorz Down podcast.
