Jason and Mikey sat down with Dereak Messer of the band Messer on the Knockin' Doorz Down podcast. As well as writing the song "Hope in This World". The creation of Two-Headed Dog Works, making knives with one of his best friends. The possibility of cross blending knife making and rock music at Messer Fest, as well as the fans keeping the band going.

Dereak also shared that he struggled with alcoholism and that his father was an alcoholic. Dereak lost his dad when he was 12 years old. He shares the challenges and methods he uses to remain sober while being a touring musician. As well he never really hit a "rock bottom" moment, that he was just done with everything negative that substance abuse brought to his life.

Dereak focuses daily on gratitude and keeps focused on what's most important to him, which is being a father, family man, friend and providing positivity to the Messer Band fans. He also shares the boundaries that have been established between him and his ex-wife so that they can be solid parents and friends as well. This is Dereak Messer in his own words on the Knockin' Doorz Down Podcast.
