Knockin‘ Doorz Down

Brett Lovett | Reconciliation after Trauma, addiction, divorce, Isolation & The Power of Mentoring

Growing up, Brett had great parents. Nothing crazy or traumatic happened during his youth, but when his parents divorced when he was 20 years old, this was the event that led to his problems. His family dynamic changed, and he started making a lot of bad decisions and lifestyle choices because he didn't have that stability that reinforced that for him before. He at first tried the traditional way of dealing with relationship trauma & admitting his faults to strangers. Brett realized he needed to find a path that would create a purposeful life. So, Brett decided to rebuild his family connection & deal with his trauma in his own way. This led to him founding Family Reconcile. Family Reconcile challenges deeply entrenched destructive mindsets or ways of thinking that society tries to get us to accept as normal in our relationships. They challenge them by showing you a better way to re-connect with your relationships. Family reconcile does not engage in or do therapy. They do not offer clinical advice or direction. Through their mentoring model, they use communication tools used by mediators and compiled research from positive psychology to bring about transformational thinking and facilitate positive transformational changes in oneself and their relationships. It's a 6-month program with a mentor that helps you along the way. His goal with Family Reconcile is to explore the traumas of the past & why they are affecting you currently. And if there are any unresolved issues there, they try to connect to those memories and/or people and resolve those issues proactively. This is Brett Lovett in his own words, on Knockin' Doorz Down.
