Annette and I thought we were on the way to one of our favorite restaurants with our family, but before we knew what happened, we were at a church for a surprise celebration. It seems our daughter, Lori, a little sneaky here, has been working on this for months contacting so many special people in our lives. I don't know how she did this from about 400 miles away. We didn't have a clue. About 50 people were there when we walked in the church. The food, the decorations, the cake, the pictures, the cards. She even had Annette's wedding dress there. It was absolutely wonderful. I'm taking personal time here to say thank you to Lori and Brooks, Ella, Addie, Leah, our son Scott, people who were actually in our wedding party were at this celebration. That was August 3, 1974, so 50 years later brought these people back together and so many special people in our lives since then. Thank you, everyone who helped us celebrate our 50th anniversary. It was absolutely outstanding. Talk about surprises. This was certainly a probably be the best one in our lives. So thanks to everyone and all the hundreds of Facebook messages too. Welcome to August 5 on the National Day Calendar. Today we're lifting the lid on some essentials and acknowledging hard work. Ever stopped to think about your underwear? On National Underwear Day, we celebrate an often overlooked garment with a fascinating history. Ancient Egyptians wore loincloths and over time underwear evolved through the centuries. From Victorian corsets to the modern briefs and boxers we know today, Jockey actually revolutionized the market in the 1930s with their masculine support advertisement. So next time you reach for your underwear, remember, there's history down there. "I could hide out under there, I just made you say underwear." I don't want to know about any history down there. I don't want to even think about my history. Oh my goodness, well thank you Jockey, I guess I didn't know that. I didn't realize that Jockey actually created down to where we were today. That's amazing. In the 1930s we're almost at 100 years, and that's crazy how time flies. And speaking of hard work and how time flies, it's also national work like a dog day. Dogs have been our hardworking companions for centuries, herding sheep, guardian property and even performing rescue missions. They give up over colleagues, but known for their incredible work ethic and stamina. Today, we salute everyone who tackles their tasks with the same dedication and energy. Whether you're pushing through a big project or just getting through your daily grind, channel that canine spirit and get job done. So since you work like a dog every day, maybe this is the day that you actually take off and rest. I love my federal holiday, national liberty for me. Yes, I love this idea. I'm seeing you later. Bye. Wait. Oh, all right. I'm not quite yet, sir. I'm Latoya Johnson. I'm Marlo Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. And join us for all of our adventures on Facebook and Instagram at Destination Celebration Show. Until next time, keep celebrating. Now.
