"NBC News Radio," I'm Lisa Carton. The Biden administration is continuing its push for a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas amid rising tensions in the Middle East. In an interview with ABC's This Week, White House Deputy National Security Advisor John Feiner said a ceasefire in Gaza is priority number one in the conflict. This comes after top Hamas and Hezbollah leaders were assassinated recently. The National Hurricane Center says tropical storm Debbie is expected to strengthen rapidly before making landfall in the Florida panhandle. Governor Ron DeSantis says the storm could have a bigger impact on the capital city than Hurricane Idalia did last year. "There's going to be a lot of trees that are going to fall down, you're going to have debris, you are going to have power interruptions, so just prepare for that." DeSantis says he's activated the Florida National Guard with a dozen swift water rescue teams on hand. I'm Lisa Carton, NBC News Radio.
